Message from Matteo for Captain Satashi.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Oh that's old scoundrel. Let's see what he's getting mixed
up in this time.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Captain Satoshi, we have a group of freelancers that you
have a mutual enemy with, and they're looking for access
to the Pirate Bay.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Right hmm, I'm assuming this has to do with Bootleg
and his little excursion into Levern.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Bootleg boot Leg.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Of course, Well I do hate that son of a bitch.
Now what's the What else do you have to tell me?
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Well, these freelancers went down in the Steel Crab to
get the power ball from a tail.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Oh, that old fool at it again. When will he
ever learn no one's been able to use that thing?
Speaker 1 (01:17):
He would need us it X marks the.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Spot right, m of course he would bring me a map.
How thematic? All right? EVASTI scaley wags, hoist the mainsail
and prepare to set course for adventure. The winds that
are back in the horizons are calling rat. Are you
(01:52):
ready for freelancers? H Captain, I can't hear you.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
Welcome to Overworked and Underplayed, a D and D podcast.
Four Young Professionals by Young professionals. I'm your DM or
district manager and the icebreaker On today's special under the
Sea episode is what is your favorite undersea creature?
Speaker 5 (02:26):
What up?
Speaker 3 (02:26):
It's your boy. Marcel Hardy playing Richard Cox, a human
consultants turned halfling bard who holy believed it's better to
be lucky than good, but it's best to be both.
And Richard's newfound favorite undersea creature is the mighty sponge
like the loof of uh No, like his nickname from
the cult episode Oh all that?
Speaker 5 (02:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (02:47):
Oh wow, we were you, Bud?
Speaker 6 (02:52):
Hello, my name is Annelin Hardy, and I play Taylor Jacobs,
a centaur barbarian with a heart of gold. So Taylor's
favorite undersea creature is the sea horse because they're awesome, obviously,
so I looked up some fun facts about them. We
all know that the male sea horses like get pregnant
and give birth. Did you know that they have a
(03:14):
very interesting mating ritual. The male seahorse will dance around
the female to show his interest. If the female's interested,
she will accept his offer, and then the two will
swim and circles until the male deposits his sperm into
the female's vent.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
Sounds like spring break.
Speaker 7 (03:33):
Hey everyone, I'm Katie and I played Crystal the Droadery
with her very own MLM, Crystal Clarity. And Crystal's favorite
undersea creature is Ursula because she feels like she's very misunderstood. Yes, yes,
which yeah, well also that, but she's also like an
independent woman, like she has a business and she she
(03:57):
legitimately writes legitimate contracts with people and forces them justly.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
So yeah, that's the take.
Speaker 8 (04:05):
Yeah, that's your take.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Hey, I'm Marjorie. I plant Amy and Amanda, a rough
and tumble human fighter with a freshly minted dentistry degree
also a basic b Let's see, her favorite underwater creature
has got to be the great white shark. You might
think you might think. You might think it's because of
the teeth, but no, it's because they are ruthless killing machines.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
Oh wait, real question. Would Amy Ann do a root
canal on a great white shark?
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Heck yeah, I mean she would need to because you
know they replace themselves.
Speaker 9 (04:49):
But yeah, Hi, I'm Tyler. I played the a t
paladin them as Bentley and Bentley's favorite sea creature is
a whale shark, because whale sharks are cool. Why have
you ever been to the Atlanta Aquarium?
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Yes?
Speaker 9 (05:03):
Yeah, were you not amazed seeing a wheel shark in
front of you?
Speaker 5 (05:06):
Hi?
Speaker 4 (05:07):
I am Alex Capps, your DM or district manager, and
you know as the DM. My favorite undersea creature is
the majestic sea turtle. They're awesome. And if you've ever
seen the baby sea turtles hatch and make their way
to the water, it is It is really something to see.
(05:27):
It's it's a beautiful thing that sometimes is interrupted by brutal,
brutal death and a reminder of the dangers of our world.
Speaker 3 (05:36):

Speaker 4 (06:04):
All right, so, when we last left off, you guys
had managed to make it to Mateo's ship. You set
sail for the Pirate Bay, and while waiting to hear
back from Captain Satoshi, he managed Matteo managed to talk
you guys into going and looking for a little item
for him, the Sphere of Power. You all strapped into
(06:28):
the Aquanomaton and you began slowly descending to the to
the depths of the seafloor.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Yeah, I'm so sorry. I do not know what I ate.
I hopefully will you know. I know this is an
enclosed space, so apology, I.
Speaker 9 (06:44):
Mean honest, I didn't realize that you were talking in
character just then.
Speaker 6 (06:49):
Yeah, I thought you were about to tell us you
howd to go to.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
No I try to always talk as Amyen. I'm trying.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
She's better than the rest of us.
Speaker 6 (07:03):
I could do a better job of staying character nor.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
Hey sorry I lost you all for just a minute.
Can you hear me?
Speaker 3 (07:15):
We can hear you.
Speaker 5 (07:16):
Good, good, Okay, So you are you're descending now. You
should be down to depths in just a few minutes.
You're only going to be about two hundred feet down,
so it shouldn't it's.
Speaker 10 (07:29):
No big like, that's not a big deal at all.
And you're gonna need I've already programmed in the tracking
mechanism and you are going to be heading towards the
ancient city of Rodamos. That is where you will find
the sphere. We should be just outside of the city.
(07:50):
When you descend that way, you don't crack into anything
on the way down.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
So what happened to the city? Okay, so I don't
love that guys.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Oh man, maybe it's like Atlantis.
Speaker 6 (08:10):
Yeah, if Atlanta's were overrun with like, you know, sea monsters.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Probably, I mean it probably is now.
Speaker 8 (08:16):
It probably is.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
Yeah, it wasn't originally, all right, So who's in the
driver's seat?
Speaker 1 (08:24):
I wrote a note from last time that Amyen is driving,
but I don't know if that was official, did we
Just who's doing?
Speaker 3 (08:30):
All I know is that Richard is in the harpoon launcher.
Speaker 6 (08:33):
Taylor's on clause.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
So Taylor is seated directly behind Amyen. Who is Taylor Jacob's.
Speaker 6 (08:42):
Perfect because she.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
Is it sweet nothings, So so Amyen you currently all
you see is is what seems to be the ocean
getting darker and darker as you guys descend.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
Oh this is kind of great. Let me take off
this eyepatch. Probably need to see all right?
Speaker 4 (09:04):
And uh, who so Bentley, you're on the bicycle, correct,
I guess?
Speaker 9 (09:10):
So?
Speaker 4 (09:10):
Yeah, all right, So the U in front of you,
you see three what appear to be like little bulbs
of glass red, green, and yellow kind of telling you
what the power needs for the Aquanomaton are currently and
right now it's in the green zone, so it's not
really doing anything, so you don't really have to pedal
(09:32):
right now.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
And then Crystal, where were you?
Speaker 8 (09:36):
I feel like I was There's something magical that I
was sitting at. Was that?
Speaker 6 (09:43):
Was that?
Speaker 3 (09:44):
What it was?
Speaker 6 (09:45):
I think?
Speaker 7 (09:45):
So there was like I came down because there was
like a special seat.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
A silm that she could like cast of.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Oh that was in the turret.
Speaker 8 (09:55):
Okay, that's right.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
So you're just kind of hanging out and you're over
there next to uh, next to Richard, all right. And
so as you start going down, Amyen, you look down
and you see a device that looks very similar to
the Palm Pilot. Okay, and you see a faint glow
(10:19):
begin to develop and it starts going.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Guys, guys, it picked it up on the palm pilot.
Look beep. Oh wow, that's good.
Speaker 6 (10:30):
We're headed in the right direction.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
Yeah, all right, make me an arcana chick.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Who me, Amyen?
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Okay?
Speaker 6 (10:39):
Oh is there anything I can do out?
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Not really?
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Oh no, Arcana?
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Yeah five.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Okay, you see a light, you see the dot, but
you can't really make anything out from the from the
device yet.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
All right.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
So as you you, guys.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
Go further and further down, your descent begins to slow,
and then you feel a gentle stop as the legs
of the of the craft kind of settle into the seafloor.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Oh okay, well, look, can we look around and see
if there's anything like near us? What is the are
there things on the bottom? Is it sandy? Is it rocky?
Speaker 4 (11:26):
So currently you can't see anything out of the front.
Do any of you have a spell that might help.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
I think, yeah, you did that time right, the dancing lights.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (11:37):
If I didn't, I'll I'll cast it now.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (11:40):
So just I just like hold up my hands and
I'm like light. Yeah, she's not approaching this like it's
romantic at all.
Speaker 8 (11:55):
She's like functions.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
All right.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
So we're going to play fast and loose with this one.
So you are gonna have to maintain concentration on it.
But the duration for dancing lights is one minute, and
we're just gonna we're just gonna play it more like
the light cantrip.
Speaker 8 (12:15):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
So you you basically illuminate an area in front of
the craft and you guys kind of scuttle around, all right,
So amyen, make me a We're gonna say dexterity Okay,
let's see, so make me a dexterity check, scarity check.
Speaker 9 (12:39):
Animal handling.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
You can use animal handling, I'll tell you what, since
this thing's more seems to be kind of animal like
animal handling.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Okay, So I get a fourteen on it.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Okay, So that's enough.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
So you kind of grab the controls and as you
first start off, you kind of send it all the
way to the left instead of forward and then you're like, oh,
got it, and then you you punch the controls in
the right direction and begin marching forward. Okay, it's like
Jeff Goldbloom in the first Independence Day movie I Got
(13:12):
Note upside Down?
Speaker 3 (13:13):
Yeah Smith, did you watch that on?
Speaker 5 (13:17):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (13:17):
Was it Will?
Speaker 5 (13:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (13:18):
You're right, it was Will Smith.
Speaker 6 (13:19):
Yeah, I've never seen that.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
Watch it?
Speaker 4 (13:23):
Oh, that definitely has to be a rolls to reels
Welcome to Earth.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Don't watch the second one. Yeah, anyways, second one.
Speaker 4 (13:33):
So you guys begin going forward now that there's dancing
light in front of the craft, Richard, make me a
perception check.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
That's a twelve.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
Okay, well the twelve you see what appear to be
almost like rolling hills just outside of your vision range,
and you're not really sure what it is. You just
see kind of vague geometric shapes kind of in the distance.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
I'm going to say to Crystal, Hey, Chris, so don't
those hills kind of like remind you of like outside
of Atlanta?
Speaker 6 (14:04):
What this is the first time they've had one on?
Speaker 9 (14:16):
Yeah, totally.
Speaker 8 (14:18):
They look very familiar to me. In fact, it's like
I'm home again.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
I was not even looking out the window.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Thing she's just Bentley on her rock.
Speaker 8 (14:29):
She's just presending she's on her phone.
Speaker 4 (14:31):
Yeah, Bentley as the Yeah you have your phone now,
but you don't have any service yeah, and no charger.
Speaker 8 (14:39):
So she's going to keep playing with her little rock.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
All right, So Bentley roll me. Uh so you would
see the light shift from green to yellow, all right,
So go ahead and do an athletics check as you
begin peddling.
Speaker 9 (14:53):
That is a nineteen plus numbers okay.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
So you quickly see the light switch back over to
green and amy and you actually feel like a surge
of speed as the speed of the legs pick up.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
What do you do?
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Whoa? Uh, let's see, I just kind of can maintain control,
and I look back to to where Bentley is and
I give him a head nod, like right.
Speaker 6 (15:17):
On, nice, cool, coolest captain of it.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
All right, Uh, Taylor, you can see out the front
window and go ahead and make me a perception check.
Speaker 6 (15:32):
That's a six okay.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
So now what I want you to do is make
me a wisdom saving throw.
Speaker 8 (15:40):
Are you just like about to crash into something?
Speaker 11 (15:45):
No?
Speaker 4 (15:45):
No, no, hold on, that's an eleven okay. So you
have an eerie feeling kind of run down your spine
and so your your character. You're not frightened or anything,
but you're kinda like you would you would feel pretty weird,
not be like you're not used to not being able
(16:06):
to see like right in front of you very well.
Speaker 6 (16:10):
Hey, guys, does anyone else feel like a little freaked
out that we can't see where we're going? Because I
just have this like really weird feeling about it.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Oh yeah, Taylor, totally with you there. This is very
creepy and it's claustrophobic a little bit too. I totally understand.
Is there anything we can I don't know.
Speaker 6 (16:29):
Do you have some like Taylor feels validated.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Hey, Crystal, do you have anything that you could like
toss us that we could sniff real quick to like
camise a little yeah something, Yeah, I.
Speaker 7 (16:43):
Have to think of the name. Hold on, Nope, I
don't have it. Let's just oh.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Okay, no worries, Crystal. You might have something.
Speaker 7 (16:51):
I have something. I just can't think of the name
of it. Like I was trying to think of a
catchy name and I can't do it. I'm so we can.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
Work shopping, So Taylor real quick, because everyone else kind
of echoed your sentiment. You'll have advantage the next time
you have to make a wisdom saving throw from being
like freaked out. Okay, So, as you guys proceed farther. Oh,
that is not the sheet I need, accidentally, boit, I'm
(17:19):
glad I didn't say that out loud. Oh wait, I
say that out loud.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
So, as you guys get closer and closer to the
dot that's on the on the viewscreen in front of Amyen,
you see what appeared to be massive choral formations and
broken buildings rising up from the seafloor, kind of fading
out of nothingness, and then as you pass them, they
(17:43):
kind of fade back into darkness. It's evident that there
you don't see any evidence that anyone's been down here
anytime soon.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Have you guys seen a Little Mermaid? Yes, this is
like really similar to the you know, it reminds me
of the Castle under the Sea and all sorts of stuff.
But yeah, it seems real spooky, like a like a
ghost town.
Speaker 8 (18:08):
I feel like a castle in Little mermaans like not spooky,
but right, this is this.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
Is like the Netflix to make it scary.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 8 (18:20):
Oh my gosh, Chris, did did you say Tim Burton remake?
Speaker 3 (18:23):
I said Netflix, but Tim Burton's way better.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
Oh so you're purple like Ursula was. Didn't you say
that was your favorite favorite character at some point or
something I did?
Speaker 8 (18:35):
Thanks for noticing.
Speaker 7 (18:36):
I've been working on my color combinations to make sure
I look more like her, especially now that we're underneath
the ocean.
Speaker 4 (18:42):
Like, yeah, hey, hey, Richard, what's your passive perception?
Speaker 3 (18:47):
Thirteen?
Speaker 4 (18:48):
Okay, So with a thirteen, you see something kind of
out of the corner of your eye, like like just
outside of your vision range, dark past you really quickly.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
I'm turning the turret, all right.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
So you spin the turret and you realize, since the
lights are pointing forward, you see nothing but darkness. I
need you to make a wisdom saving.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
Throw fun stuff. That's a two.
Speaker 4 (19:16):
Okay, So two you you start breathing a little harder,
and you feel like you saw something out of the
other corner of your eye.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Now, so do you dart the turret back around again?
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Yeah? Definitely?
Speaker 4 (19:34):
Okay, So you dart the turret back around again and
again nothing's there.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
What are the rest of you doing?
Speaker 4 (19:40):
While Richard is furiously like rotating the turret around the sub.
Speaker 8 (19:45):
So obviously we see him.
Speaker 7 (19:47):
Yeah, I guess, I like am wanting to, uh, let's see.
Speaker 8 (19:54):
I was gonna see if I have like a detect
magic or something. Yeah, I do, but that's not like
it's a magic. It's not that's a there's like there's
probably a thing out there which tech magic won't help me.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
Hey, Crystal, you have dark vision, remember.
Speaker 5 (20:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (20:13):
Oh yeah, yeah, it's so long relevant.
Speaker 8 (20:21):
It's not relevant for like the whole game. Oh my gosh.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 8 (20:27):
Okay, So I'm gonna go up to the thing and
start looking out the window for sure.
Speaker 4 (20:31):
So so as you approach, like you get you get
closer to Richard, he is still kind of like spinning
the turd around, looking furiously.
Speaker 8 (20:41):
Richard, What the hell, I'm not dying in this thing?
What is going on?
Speaker 3 (20:45):
I don't know there was this, I don't know. I
just got this weird feeling like I don't know, maybe
Taylor put just put something in my head, but like
I feel like always in the corner of my eye,
I just I don't see something, but I feel like
there's something.
Speaker 8 (20:55):
We don't need someone going crazy down here in the
bottom of the ocean. I need to get your shit together.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
You're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're at.
Speaker 7 (21:03):
I'm not being murdered on by somebody thinks there's something
much that is a start took fucking horror movie.
Speaker 9 (21:12):
Oh my god.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Okay, yeah, Crystal, make a perception check, all right, Well
the twenty two. So as he pans the turret around,
you see what appear to be a small school of
fish following you, guys, bubble trail.
Speaker 8 (21:30):
It's just fish, and so Richard sh.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
She kind of points the fish out. You can kind
of see their outline in the darkness, like a slight,
faint shimmer, and you realize that's what you were seeing,
and you kind of you you're breathing, slows down a
little bit and you start calming back down.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
Oh thank god, oh my god, I can deal with that.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
That I can write with Amy and make me a
perception check.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
Everything.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
Okay, back there, guys, it is now. Christal just pointed out.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
Some fish, all right, I got an eleven.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
With an eleven.
Speaker 4 (22:07):
As you kind of like like you turn your head
to ask if everything's okay. Back there, you miss what
appears to be a small like an area where the
sand wasn't as thick, and one of the feet collapses
down into a hole and the whole bottom of the
sub just kind of smacks the seabed. I need everyone
(22:28):
to make a strength saving throat to hold on God,
including Bentley.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Richard once he is a good omen, He's like.
Speaker 9 (22:36):
Are you sure you?
Speaker 5 (22:38):
Amy?
Speaker 1 (22:38):
I got a twenty three nice?
Speaker 4 (22:41):
So you have one bad omen and four good omens. So, Richard,
you choose to use an omen dye? Yeah, so let
me so you roll yours and I'll roll this one.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
Okay. I rolled to twelve.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
Okay, this roll to thirteen?
Speaker 4 (22:57):
Sweet, so which will be enough that that will be
an Uh you have minus one for strength, right, so
you hold on, Amyen you got a twenty two, twenty three,
twenty three. Yeah, you're fine. You didn't even You're like,
what was that? It's like a speed bump. Taylor Jacobs
gone eleven. Okay, eleven will be enough to hold on.
(23:19):
You kind of slip in your seat a little bit, Crystal.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
What did you.
Speaker 8 (23:22):
Get negative one?
Speaker 4 (23:26):
We'll come back to that. Bentley, what did you get
a ten?
Speaker 5 (23:33):
Zero?
Speaker 9 (23:33):
Though? So zero?
Speaker 4 (23:35):
So Bentley, because you were pedaling, you were kind of
up off the seat and you just kind of like
you did like the natural shock absorber thing. Crystal, you
were like kind of just hanging out in the turret,
but not in a seat, so you slip and fall
and you're going to take three points of bludgeoning damage
as you like kind of hit your head on Richard's
(23:57):
seat on the way down. Oh my god, and you
guys hear a bell start ringing. No need to take
this offline overworked and underplayed. We'll circle back after these messages.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Oh what's that?
Speaker 3 (24:11):
What kind of So?
Speaker 2 (24:13):
I need everyone to make a perception.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Check NAT twenty plus two two okay, sorry, twenty one twenty.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
One eight eight Richard, what'd you get?
Speaker 3 (24:24):
Also? An eight eight coming from the turret?
Speaker 4 (24:27):
Yeah, you guys are kind of you guys are still
a little uh yeah yeah, Crystal hit her head and
Richard's worried about Crystal.
Speaker 6 (24:36):
All right, Taylor, Taylor Jacobs seventeen.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
Seventeen and Bentley what did you get?
Speaker 9 (24:43):
Nineteen?
Speaker 2 (24:43):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (24:44):
So Taylor, Bentley and Amy and see a small stream
of water shooting up from the floor.
Speaker 5 (24:52):
Oh my god, how.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
Many fix that? There's a play nix fix fix fixed.
I don't have an immediate job.
Speaker 6 (24:59):
I can go do something.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
Okay, Taylor, I need you to go grab so you're
gonna grab the kit, and I need you to make
an investigation check at the leak to see if you
can figure out which item to use to fix it.
Speaker 9 (25:12):
We're about to get ocean gated.
Speaker 7 (25:16):
Oh god, I here there's a reason why I didn't
want to come on this tubmarine trip.
Speaker 6 (25:20):
Can I do with the good omen?
Speaker 2 (25:23):
Sure?
Speaker 1 (25:24):
Bentley, we're not gonnas. Just pause for a second, please
help Taylor.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
All right, you got an eighteen on the open.
Speaker 9 (25:33):
Taylor?
Speaker 2 (25:33):
To do this?
Speaker 8 (25:34):
No?
Speaker 1 (25:34):
I just help all hands on Dick.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
All right, So Taylor, what did you roll? Total?
Speaker 9 (25:40):
I rolled?
Speaker 1 (25:40):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (25:41):
What was so?
Speaker 2 (25:43):
I got an eight?
Speaker 4 (25:44):
I got an eighteen on my die?
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Okay, it's investigation?
Speaker 5 (25:51):
What is uh?
Speaker 2 (25:52):
What's you're in?
Speaker 4 (25:53):
What's uh? Do you have investigation as a skill or
what's your intelligence stat?
Speaker 6 (25:59):
My investigations a plus one? My intelligence status of twelve?
Speaker 4 (26:04):
Okay, so you get a nineteen and nineteen will be
more than enough. You see, you look at the hole
like it seems to be like a little crack, and
you find what looks like a patch of some kind
and some other tools to kind of like seal off
the area and it stops leaking and the bell goes away.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Okay, every Boddy, it's all good. Crisis aborted, Thank god, Taylor.
Speaker 6 (26:31):
Yeah, I got lucky.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:35):
So, so as you're looking at it, you would realize
it was the cooling system, not like water coming in
from outside of the outside of the ocean.
Speaker 6 (26:43):
It was just the cooling system. We weren't having, like
a big league what a relief, all right.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
All right, ready in here?
Speaker 4 (26:53):
So uh yeah, oh no, the cooling system's still working.
It's just yeah, this was like a cool pipe that
and you're not entirely sure if it was damaged by
the crash or if it was Crystal falling that damaged it.
Speaker 6 (27:10):
Are you okay Crystal?
Speaker 9 (27:13):
She cracked her head heart.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Oh you might.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
It's still like one of those things like you might
have grabbed it on the way down or something. Oh okay,
all right, So you guys get going again and you're
able to get out of the hole pretty easily, and
you begin moving again, Amy, and go ahead, make me
another vehicle check.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
Oki, dokie. Well sorry about that, guys, I need to
pay more attention.
Speaker 6 (27:36):
With Crystal healing potion too, before she goes, oh, we're
using animal handling.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
That's handling. Okay, so that is in nineteen.
Speaker 4 (27:43):
Okay, so nineteen you do. You start moving, You're getting
you're really getting the hang of it. You start doing
like some crab walking as you're moving along, like you're
swaying back and forth, like you're really starting to feel
how this thing works a sea, Crystal, you're feeling better now,
like you didn't hit your head that hard, but you're
(28:04):
gonna have like a little like you're gonna have like
a little bump on your head that you're not happy about.
Speaker 8 (28:09):
But uh, Taylor gave Taylor gave Crystal a health pushon,
and Crystal took it for sure.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
Oh god, okay, so you're back headache?
Speaker 7 (28:18):
Absolutely not, no haw girls get migraines. But still.
Speaker 8 (28:25):
Anyway, so I think maybe Crystal should drive, So.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
She should drive.
Speaker 7 (28:34):
Anybody else take in so Crystal can see better than
anybody else.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
So that's a great that's a great, uh point, you
want to give it a go?
Speaker 9 (28:45):
Yeah, yeah, I do want to drive.
Speaker 7 (28:46):
I think I think I I think I should even
though I am seeing double, I still think I can
still see better than anybody.
Speaker 8 (28:55):
That doesn't have my specialists.
Speaker 9 (29:00):
This isn't the Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 8 (29:03):
Oh shit, doing.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
A pretty good job driving, Like, do you have any
Sometimes you don't want to broke something that's I don't
want to fix anything that's not broken.
Speaker 7 (29:16):
At this point, christ is kind of unsure. She didn't
want to come on this in the first place. So
but she's just like, I can see, and I don't
think anybody else can see. So it's clearly causing problems.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Well how about this, Crystal, why don't you just come
over here and sit like right next to me and
you can tell me.
Speaker 8 (29:31):
Where we're your co pilot?
Speaker 1 (29:32):
Yeah? Yeah, dancing? Okay, yeah, okay, all right, So that
just means there's not somebody in the tour the other turret.
Yeah okay, I mean.
Speaker 7 (29:40):
The Crystal's fear is making her nice.
Speaker 9 (29:42):
Yeah, yeah, we don't need someone that can see.
Speaker 7 (29:49):
Above ground is definitely bossy Crystal, But down here she's like, no,
I'm not going to cause any problems because she doesn't
want to get crushed.
Speaker 6 (29:58):
Do you have any inspirational words for our captain, Richard?
Speaker 3 (30:03):
I feel like normally the captain's the one that gives
inspirational words, but I can give it a shot.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Who's the you are me?
Speaker 3 (30:09):
I'm just the driver, Yeah, captain, the captain of the
lobster bot.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Oh okay, well thanks guys. Oh I'm supposed to say,
Oh go ahead, Richard, I'm sorry. So you want me
to say something inspiring? Sure, I don't know what I like.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
You are a friendless leader on this and Richard is
going to talking about how awesome Amien is and why
she should get a captain and give her a bartic inspiration.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Oh my gosh, Richard, Oh, Amy's cheeks are red, like,
that's so nice, you guys.
Speaker 8 (30:42):
I should just launch into an inspirational speech.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
While all this is going on.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
Bentley, I need you to make me a perception check.
Speaker 9 (30:51):
That is a two plus number, so I'm not paying attention.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (30:55):
So you're you're kind of in your own world and
you're just kind of peddling like, oh, I wish we
get this over with and total. And you you hear
this like almost this clicking noise that sounds like it's
coming from behind you.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
And then you you.
Speaker 4 (31:13):
Hear a voice like a whisper.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
Leave this place.
Speaker 9 (31:20):
Anyone else hear that creepy voice? Tell us to leave
I don't.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
Think so what did it say, Bentley?
Speaker 9 (31:26):
I said, said we should probably leave and I don't
want to be down here. Let's go back up.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
We can you ask it?
Speaker 10 (31:31):
Why?
Speaker 9 (31:32):
Nope, We're going back up.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
Well, well, we got to get the ball of whatever
down here? Don't we?
Speaker 3 (31:40):
Can you ask it? How close we are?
Speaker 9 (31:43):
Why don't you try talking to it?
Speaker 3 (31:46):
I mean not creepy? Hey voice?
Speaker 4 (31:51):
You get no reply?
Speaker 3 (31:52):
Did say anything, Bentley?
Speaker 9 (31:55):
A creepy voice? The only one that you can talk to?
Speaker 4 (31:58):
You hear nothing?
Speaker 9 (32:03):
No, nothing, It's gone. Okay, damn it.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
It probably heard us call it creepy. We offended it.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
Yeah, Bailey, have you had enough electrolytes?
Speaker 9 (32:10):
We're surrounded by saltwater, so maybe.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
Okay, electrolytes do asthmosis.
Speaker 6 (32:16):
Yeah, remember, guys, we got to complete this mission so
we can go home.
Speaker 4 (32:22):
All right. So, as you guys are moving along, Amien's
paying attention to like the area in front and your
you're cruising along, Taylor, out of the corner of your eye,
you see something swim past the front of the ship
and you begin hearing a clicking noise.
Speaker 6 (32:41):
Hey, so I'm hearing a clicking noise up next okay, great, well,
thank you for telling me what to expect. I also
saw something swim past. Did you see that, Crystal?
Speaker 8 (32:54):
No, I did not see anything just now. Mhm, should
I look?
Speaker 1 (32:59):
I'll look?
Speaker 3 (33:00):
Oh shit, is this place haunted?
Speaker 6 (33:03):
Probably hated?
Speaker 2 (33:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (33:07):
I mean, like what else is new? Like what weird
shit happens here all the time?
Speaker 10 (33:12):
Of course?
Speaker 4 (33:13):
All right, So Crystal, you climb up in the dome
again and you kind of scan around, and you do
see a shape just outside of your vision range kind
of swim by, and you hear a clicking noise.
Speaker 8 (33:28):
I think we go back up. I think that's enough.
I think we can just I don't. I saw something.
There's something out.
Speaker 7 (33:34):
There, and I I would like to go up down?
Speaker 8 (33:37):
Thank you?
Speaker 2 (33:38):
All right.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
As you guys are doing that, you feel a tug
on the line connecting you to the surface. Oh as
the whole the whole craft kind of gets drug to
a stop.
Speaker 8 (33:57):
Are they just do they hear me? Are we going
back up?
Speaker 9 (34:00):
Wants to start pedaling harder to try to get it
moving again?
Speaker 2 (34:03):
All right?
Speaker 4 (34:03):
So Bentley, you start pedaling harder, and you seem to
not be going anywhere, and then all of a sudden,
I need everyone to make another strength saving throw.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
Okay, shit, Bentley, we're supposed to go soft to get
a little bit of slack in the line and then
like yank it really hard, all.
Speaker 6 (34:21):
Right, physics degree. Taylor got a sixteen?
Speaker 2 (34:25):
Okay, so Taylor, you're good.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
Richard got a seventeen.
Speaker 4 (34:29):
Richard's good. He put on his seat belt. Crystal on,
Crystal got in eighteen. She's she's already, Yeah she put on.
What did amy En get twenty three? Okay, twenty three? Yeah,
you're you're good? What about Bentley?
Speaker 2 (34:48):
Thirteen thirteen? That is just enough?
Speaker 4 (34:52):
As you guys go surging forward faster than you've gone yet,
and then you hear a.
Speaker 5 (35:00):
Going on down there? What's going on down there? The
line just went sweat?
Speaker 1 (35:04):
Oh no, okay, and we give him a quick all right.
I think there's some creepy thing out there a corner
to you guys. I think it's pulling on our line.
Speaker 3 (35:14):
I don't think we're connected anymore, Oh are we not?
Speaker 2 (35:18):
I believe the line's been snapped someone.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
There's something out here. Maybe it's like a ghost, a
fish ghost.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
We think the Atlanteans are haunting this place.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
Fish ghost, the Atlanteans. What's an Atlantean.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
It's a city or Atlantean is a person from the
city of Atlantis, and it was a city that is
now underwater like this place.
Speaker 9 (35:39):
Not confused with Atlanta.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
Correct, not to be confused with where we're.
Speaker 9 (35:43):
From, unless you're in the Futurama universe.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
Well, I don't think he knows about that, Bentley.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
He says, Well, you're disconnected.
Speaker 4 (35:50):
You should have enough air for maybe an hour more,
and but I will try to figure out what we
can do about getting you reattached so that we can
bring you back.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
An hour total. Oh so we can't come back up.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
No, The surfacing mechanism is usually by the winch.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
Oh inflatable balloons on the side of what's a balloon?
Speaker 6 (36:14):
Was an emergency thing?
Speaker 11 (36:16):
Yeah, all right, you're talking about the emergency flotation system. Well,
that's normally powered by the air being pumped from the surface.
Speaker 8 (36:29):
I see, I see that seems like poor design.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
Are we less than thirty minutes away from our destination?
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Hopefully, ask SERI, she'll know.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
From our destination.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
Well, let's see. Can I tell how far we are
away from the thing based upon the beeps?
Speaker 4 (36:48):
Make me an Arcana check with advantage because you've been
looking at this thing a lot.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
All right, So our kana is minus one, but I
got ane so eighteen.
Speaker 4 (37:01):
Yeah, so you realize you are only a couple hundred
feet away from it.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
Okay, so tell everybody we're right. We're nearly there. Guys.
Speaker 6 (37:10):
Look, do you think that we're nearly there with the
amount of time it's going to take for us to
inevitably come up against this thing that's fucking with our ship?
Speaker 1 (37:20):
Ah, that's a great question, Taylor.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
I don't know, so pretty awesome, Like we've never been
in a combat encounter that's lasted more than like what
thirty seconds?
Speaker 2 (37:33):
Oh my gosh, Richard, that you mentioned.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
Time Browns is pretty good. I'm just like D and
D math is stupid and that five rounds is thirty seconds.
Speaker 8 (37:46):
You're not wrong, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 4 (37:50):
So as you guys are having this discussion, two things happen,
uh pretty much simultaneously. Amy An, you spot in the
direct of the item, you spot what appears to be
a cave entrance, a small cave that looks just big
enough for the craft to fit into the mouth of
(38:13):
and crystal and you would see swimming up close behind you, guys,
as you're moving forward what appears to be a giant octopus,
and you hear the clicking again, and then this time
Crystal and Richard would hear you should have left?
Speaker 3 (38:34):
Do I see the giant octopus?
Speaker 4 (38:36):
You feel the giant octopus?
Speaker 3 (38:38):
Okay, so question because I'm going to do this. There's
a ninety percent chance and I'm going to do this
in our when we got explained how the harpoon works.
Is it like a one and done kind of thing
or they're like like.
Speaker 4 (38:50):
No, it's you have So so we're gonna say they're
almost like magical darts.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
Perfect.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
So I'm not going to say you have a limit
mimitless number of them, but it shouldn't matter how many
you have due to how long it takes, like well
I'm not gonna say how long it takes to reload it,
but like you know what I'm saying, Like you're not
firing like ten of them around right right, right right, So.
Speaker 3 (39:14):
I'm gonna shoot at the thing that I'm afraid of.
Speaker 4 (39:17):
Okay, make me an attack roll with disadvantage because you
can't see it.
Speaker 3 (39:22):
That makes sense twelve plus four sixteen.
Speaker 4 (39:28):
So the controls of This would remind you of like
an arcade game, and you're like, I've played this one before,
and you you you kind of close your eyes and
you fire off a harpoon and you would hear a
as you land a direct hit right into the giant
(39:50):
octopus as it begins coming into view where you can
see it.
Speaker 3 (39:54):
Shadow shadow, Shit, we're being chased by a giant octopus.
Speaker 9 (39:57):
I believe the technical term was cracking.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
How big is it?
Speaker 3 (40:01):
That sounds way scarier? Bentley, White, No faster, Bentley, you
go fast?
Speaker 4 (40:06):
Bentley, make me a athletics check with disadvantages. I burn
one of your bad omens.
Speaker 3 (40:15):
I think I pissed it off.
Speaker 9 (40:16):
Guys, Okay, we're not going anywhere fast. That is a
one plus number, so four.
Speaker 4 (40:24):
So Bentley, you go to like really put some torque
on the thing and you pop the chain off of
the bicycle gear.
Speaker 9 (40:33):
That is way worse than I expected.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
I thought he was gonna pull a muscle. So I
think that's actually better.
Speaker 9 (40:37):
Yeah, I thought I was gonna, like, you know the
thing when you try and like ride a bike in
it for sometimes like the pedal miss you hit yourself
in the shin and it hurts. Yeah, window, you fall
down a little bit too hard on the seat.
Speaker 4 (40:52):
So because of how hard you were pedaling before, the
light is still green for now. But Crystal Taylor and
am what are you guys doing?
Speaker 1 (41:02):
Uh? I'll go last, what do you guys do?
Speaker 6 (41:08):
Taylor's gonna get the claw because the claws aren't at
the front, right, It's.
Speaker 4 (41:12):
Like, yeah, they're at the front, they are.
Speaker 6 (41:14):
Okay, She's gonna ready them in case the octopus tries
to attack from the fot.
Speaker 2 (41:18):
Okay, so you ready in attack with the.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
Claws versus octopus.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
All right, Crystal, what are you doing?
Speaker 8 (41:25):
What does my turret station do?
Speaker 10 (41:27):
Like?
Speaker 8 (41:28):
Is it just for the shield or the lights are?
Speaker 5 (41:30):
No?
Speaker 4 (41:30):
No, no, you have so. So the turret is the
same one the harpoon gun's in. So next to the
harpoon gun there is basically a tube with an arcane
focus at each end. And the idea is like a
it's like a way for spell casters to fire their
spells out of the aquanomaton. Think of it like a
tank cannon.
Speaker 8 (41:51):
Right, Okay, so can I I think I'm just gonna say,
you know, like clearly this is an octopus.
Speaker 7 (42:02):
It's not friendly, right, So, like I think I'm going
to cast moonbeam out.
Speaker 2 (42:07):
Of the Oh snap, all right.
Speaker 7 (42:13):
So this could go or it could not go, depending
on the seat. That is a fourteen.
Speaker 4 (42:21):
Oh no, no, no, no, you don't make an attack.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
Roll it is it is.
Speaker 4 (42:27):
Let's see. I don't think right, Oh, it's a con
save yeah, con.
Speaker 2 (42:31):
Safe, so let me roll.
Speaker 4 (42:33):
Okay, okay, so I rolled a two, so I don't
think it really matters.
Speaker 2 (42:38):
So what happens?
Speaker 4 (42:40):
That is, so you send down a five foot radius
forty foot high cylinder of light. Yeah, oh and it
stays there. Oh, but that means you're dancing. Lights go
away because this is a concentration spell.
Speaker 8 (42:56):
True, but there should be lights from the.
Speaker 4 (42:58):
Moonbeam behind you.
Speaker 8 (43:00):
Okay, well you know what?
Speaker 4 (43:03):
Yeah, Amy, you you you're kind of still pointed the
same direction you were.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
But the lights go out.
Speaker 4 (43:09):
Let's see this does two D ten radiant mm hmm
to go ahead and roll damage okay?
Speaker 9 (43:22):
Uh yeah.
Speaker 4 (43:25):
So you see as the light illuminates the octopus it's
a lot larger than the aquanomaton, and you see a
harpoon sticking out of l next to its beak, and
you see as it recoils back from the bright light
even though this was just dim light down here, that
(43:45):
seems pretty bright. And so we cut to Amyen, who
just had the lights go out.
Speaker 3 (43:54):
Okay, so the bird Box, this, bitch, let's go what
does that mean? Are you're not seeing bird Box? It's
a movie where like they can't see or whatever. Anyway,
I'll explain it later.
Speaker 4 (44:07):
Oh okay, I have theories about that movie.
Speaker 2 (44:09):
By the way.
Speaker 1 (44:11):
Okay, so can you give me a little bit more information.
So the last thing I saw was that we're heading
in the direction. We're about two hundred I think you said,
meters away from the thing that we're after, right, right,
and then to the left I think you said, is
a like a cave in which that we could fit in,
presumably to save ourselves from this octopus.
Speaker 4 (44:33):
Right, So the cave was directly ahead, not today it was.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
Okay, so the thing might be in the cave, okay, right,
all right, So I'm gonna just based upon that recent memory,
even though the lights are off, going to head like
hopefully full steam. Intention. The intention is to go full
steam towards that.
Speaker 4 (44:49):
Okay, make me another animal handling check.
Speaker 1 (44:53):
With advantage or no.
Speaker 3 (44:55):
You at least have my bartican.
Speaker 1 (44:58):
Oh yes, what is that a D six?
Speaker 3 (44:59):
Yeah, yes, No, it's this Leveld eight.
Speaker 4 (45:02):
Yeah, and you don't have to roll it until after
you roll your D twenty.
Speaker 1 (45:05):
Okay. Animal handling is fourteen plus three seventeen.
Speaker 2 (45:13):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (45:14):
So you you nail the entrance like nothing but net.
But as you're entering the cave, the the aquanomaton begins
slowing down and Bentley, you would see the light fading
from yellow and red.
Speaker 9 (45:30):
Bentley get came off. Yeah, I want to try to
put the chain back on.
Speaker 4 (45:36):
Okay, So Bentley, make me an investigation.
Speaker 9 (45:39):
Check clearly my strong suit.
Speaker 4 (45:41):
Do you want to use an omen dye?
Speaker 9 (45:43):
No, I'm good, Okay, that's a joke. Yes I want
to use it.
Speaker 2 (45:46):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (45:46):
I was like, I was like, okay, your funeral, like.
Speaker 9 (45:50):
I got an eleven plus numbers.
Speaker 2 (45:52):
Okay, so the Oman dye got a seventeen.
Speaker 9 (45:55):
All right, cool, we'll take We'll take that. So investigation
oh as does so yeah all.
Speaker 4 (46:01):
Right, So with the seventeen, you pop the chain back
on and hop on and just keep it out of
the red. You're able to get the wheels spinning again,
and you guys make it into the cave as you
feel the giant octopus kind of crash into the wall
behind you and swim away.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
That was close.
Speaker 4 (46:21):
So Crystal as an it says here as an action,
you can actually move the moonbeam. So I'm gonna say
you move the moonbeam to back in front of you. Okay, Yeah,
And as you guys maneuver through the cave, you see
that it begins opening up almost into a giant dome shape,
(46:42):
and you see what appeared to be etchings in the
cave walls, that this might have been some kind of
building at one time. And there you see, directly in
front of you, in almost like a big pit, what
appears to be just thousands of pounds of gold and treasure,
(47:05):
and right at the center of all of it you
see a glowing sphere. And as you guys get closer,
I need everyone who's looking, so everybody but Bentley to
make a perception check.
Speaker 6 (47:20):
I don't know how many good omens do we have left?
Speaker 7 (47:23):
Twenty six nineteen plus one twenty.
Speaker 2 (47:28):
Okay, Richard got an eight?
Speaker 4 (47:30):
Richard? Okay, So Richard is enamored by the sphere. Taylor,
what did you get?
Speaker 1 (47:34):
Taylor got a four?
Speaker 4 (47:36):
Taylor is also like kind of just blown away by
all the gold and jewels and everything else that she's
seeing in front of her Amy Anne and Crystal, You
guys would would see as you get closer with your moonbeam,
it looks like the treasure is starting to move, at
(47:57):
which point you guys need to roll initiative.
Speaker 3 (48:23):

Heart of Gold is usually what people would say, like
in Westerns, to describe like sex workers. Did you realize that,
(49:26):
like in old.
Speaker 4 (49:27):
Movies, so so fun fact, that term actually came from
Uh they would mix gold in with certain kinds of
medicine to help treat chlamydia.
Speaker 9 (49:38):
Sex workers.
