Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Pag's Perspective with your host Ryan Pagano.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Well, that theme music only means one thing. Big Brother
is back season twenty seven, premiering tonight, and Brother I
am looking forward to it as I am every year
with Big Brother. Now, Yes, I know what some of
you might be thinking. This show as corny as hell
has been for years. Why the heck do you could do?
(00:37):
You to watch this? And it's a fairly simple reason.
I've just been into this show since I was ten
years old. First time I ever watched it. Season fourteen,
Ian Terry winning the five hundred thousand dollars over the
goat Dan Giesling. Now, should Dan have won over Ian?
That's the one question that everybody talks about with fourteen
(01:00):
was whether or not there was a bitter jury, and
that Dan probably should have won because there's no doubt
he played one of the best games of all time,
no freaking doubt. But as a fan of END from
back then and as a fan of END now, I'll
just say this. This isn't to take away from Ian's
win or anything like that. Yes, Dan deserved the win,
no question about it. But that isn't to say Ian
(01:21):
didn't deserve it either. He deserved the win in his
own right. He one comps when he needed to and
kept himself safe so many times when he didn't even
realize he was in immediate danger. The kid just kept
finding ways. These house guests just keep finding ways at
something that we might see on this next season. Season
twenty seven premiering tonight. Now the house guests already moved
(01:44):
in I believe Tuesday, and the live feeds they're not
gonna turn on until I believe Sunday. Correct me if
I'm wrong about this. So we're already losing out on
a lot of game action that in some prior seasons
we got to see unfolds on Night one one. Bless
whoever brought us those Night one live feeds and how
much I missed them, because then you got to see
(02:08):
all the Alliance structures forming in real time instead of
whatever the producers would just feed down your throat with
those first few episodes taking you through those first few
nights where the feeds aren't on. We should really bring
that back because I loved it, and a lot of
other people in the community did too, so let's make
it happen. But it is what it is, as long
(02:28):
as the live feeds don't just crap out like they
have a crucial times when the fans have needed them.
But yes, they're going to be turning on this weekend.
Episode one of the season is tonight and there is
an apparent Mystery House guest that we got to talk
about here and a lot of people are speculating that
it's going to be Rachel Riley as the Mystery House
(02:48):
guest and you know her well, the season thirteen winner,
multiple time Amazing Race Player also was on The Traders
season one, Still very involved in the Big Brother community.
CBS has re a lot of clues over the past
few days ahead of the premiere with a bunch of
photos of the house that apparently the architecture of the house,
all the decorations give us clues to who exactly this
(03:12):
seventeenth Mystery House guest is going to be. Their last
hint was revealed today and shout out to the wonderful
Sharon Tharp for bringing us these details. She always provides
the Big Brother community with just a bunch of great
content and shout out to when everybody thought that she
was going to be on Big Brother twenty six because
that season two also had a mystery house guest, which
(03:34):
turned out to just be a complete ruse. So, for
the love of God, if we get a fake mystery
house guest this season, I'm not gonna be too pleased,
But considering production, I somehow would not be surprised if
that's the case. But yes, this last hint. It's in
the form of a photo which shows a shelf with
a globe, a lampshade, some stained glass, and most notably,
a California license plate with the letters E J D
(03:58):
R JB. I don't exactly know what that means, so
to speak. I wasn't exactly able to uencode it. But
what's also in the license plate is something worth noting,
because that's definitely something that a lot of people have
encoded from that. This license plate also features the month
July and year twenty eleven. Now, considering that Big Brother
(04:19):
thirteen started right then and there, a lot of people
have been speculating, and I've gladly, unapologetically bought into this
that it could very easily refer to a year that
a former player played the game. This, alongside a lot
of other clues like a reception desk and keys with
the numbers three, seven, ten, and twenty appearing there. Now,
(04:40):
I'm definitely going to lose my mind in a conspiracy
theory right here, So forgive me ten plus three is thirteen.
Big Brother season thirteen, the season that Rachel one, twenty
plus seven twenty seven. Of course, this season of Big Brother,
you had those two numbers up and you get forty,
which is the current age of Rachel Riley. She won
season thirteen and is now making an appearance on season
(05:03):
twenty seven. On top of that, seven three twenty ten,
that is the day that the Big Brother twelve house
guests first moved into the house. Now, obviously season thirteen
was not Rachel's first appearance. She did appear on the
prior season, season twelve and twenty ten. They moved into
the house on that day, where Rachel will ultimately go
on to place ninth. So yeah, I might be a
(05:23):
conspiracy theorist here, but I'm unapologetically buying into that knowing
that somehow she will not be the mystery house guest.
On top of that, while you have CBS not confirming
if this mystery house guest is a former player, Julie
Chen Moonvest told Entertainment Weekly that this person is very polarizing.
I don't know, you guys. It kind of applies that
(05:45):
the viewers have met this person before. Quote. What I
can say is the Mystery House guest when I was
told to this person is I had to expect the unexpected.
I never expected that person, and I was very excited because,
in my opinion, getting that person is epic and that
person is also very polarizing. So there's going to be
a strong reaction in both directions for this Mystery House guest.
(06:07):
So yeah, that quote right there just kind of applies
that people are very familiar with this person, that it
isn't going to be a fake house guest like Ainsley
was just last season. That it might more be like
season twenty five when you had a Mystery House guest
enter the house but turned out to be survivor legend
Surree Fields, who was competing unbeknownst to everybody in the
(06:31):
house at the time, alongside her son Jared. And that
would also bring up a lot more speculation that people
have had as to whether or not this Mystery House
guest may not have played Big Brother before, but maybe
they are another reality TV legend in their own right.
Of course, you had Surree two seasons ago, but then
you also have a lot of other people speculating that
(06:51):
it's somebody like CT or Johnny Bananas from the Challenge,
which I don't think is very likely here. If anything,
it's going to be a former house guest. Now, another
detail of the premiere that I just want to share
my thoughts on apparently also involves a masked visitor entering
the house. Now, I don't know if this is gonna
be on Night one or how exactly they're gonna incorporate
(07:14):
this masked visitor into the game, but what I really
am not looking forward to, if it's gonna go down
this way, I have a feeling that they're gonna unveil
whoever this Mystery House guest is, whether it's Rachel Riley
or whoever else, and then this masked visitor is gonna
go in and quote unquote murder the seventeenth Mystery House guest.
(07:35):
And then that kind of becomes the season's theme right
then and there, that it's a murder mystery where all
season long, the new house guests that are actually playing
the game are going to be trying to find clues
to solve the murder of the mystery house guest. I mean, ay,
these murder mysteries have gained a lot of traction lately
in pop culture circles, so that very well could be
(07:57):
the theme. I mean, after all, just last season was AI,
so you never know there. Big Brother is pretty good
at theming their seasons around relevant topics. They did it
with AI just last year, and it could very well
be the exact same thing with this season. You never
know though, until you actually see the premiere and see
(08:18):
how it all goes down. Now, as far as my
winter pick goes, and this is something else that I
really want to highlight here right off the bat, just
give me Ava, the Long Island native appearing on the
show second straight season. Where you have somewhat of a
Long Island tie into Big Brother. It's what I'm here for.
(08:40):
Let's go last season Hofstra University alone, Tucker Delorier being
on the season winning America's Favorite, and now you got
Ava Pearl, a twenty four year old or a painter
whatever that means from Long Island appearing on the show. Now.
She did say in her preseason interviews that she's most
as there of the money because she's quote broke or
(09:01):
something along those lines. So Ava's play style right off
the bat kind of reminds me of one where you
won't see her be afraid of making any move necessary
to further her chance of winning the money. So you
know what, I'm gonna buy into that, and I'm gonna
be rooting for a long islander.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Here.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Give me Ava as my Winter pick, and please, for
the love of God, do not get evicted in the
first week. I don't want to be wrong about this.
I mean, I've had Tucker's by winter pick and it
turned out to be pretty good, winning America's Favorite. Although
he didn't end up winning the season, he was still
pretty memorable in his own right. And some honorable mentions
(09:40):
for my winter picks. Jimmy, the AI consultant from DC,
who surely I think would be pretty smart to be
able to maneuver something as chaotic as the Big Brother House.
Zach I could see making it pretty far as well.
He played baseball briefly in the Nationals organization, so I'm
gonna have a couple of friends who like that. For sure.
He'll definitely in the physical competitions, I'm sure do. I
(10:02):
think he's gonna win the season. I really don't think so,
because a lot of Big Brother in recent years has
involved targeting the physical men, and you haven't really seen
a lot of guys win recent seasons who are mostly
branded as a physical threat. Like yes, you had Cody
Calfiori in All Stars two five years ago. He won
(10:24):
because of his dominant social and strategic game. Comp wins
were a big part of that, but they weren't the
one thing that was defining him, you know what I mean.
Same goes for Xavier. Well built guy, looked like a
physical threat on the outside, but did a hell of
a job downplaying that had a pretty good social game
to make up for a strategic game, not really being
on part to some of Big Brother's best strategists, but
(10:46):
he used that really well. And I know he didn't
win his season, but even that Klotz in Season twenty
five was a big physical threat too, Yes, but he
had a great social game and he would have won
in the end if not for JAG's great strategic gameplay
at the end of the game and most importantly joining
the mafia with Matt and I if you know, you know,
(11:08):
But anyway, we will see what happens on this season
of Big Brother. So that's my audition to be the
next narrator of the show right there. So if anybody
from the production team is listening and wants to bring
me aboard, either as a house guest or even as
a production member, I'm more than welcome to that, all right.
I love watching the show, I love dissecting the gameplay,
(11:30):
and I'm looking forward to another season of doing that
right here. Oh and one more thing, can we please
stop hating house guests because of their political ideologies while
they're in the house. Please. I know a lot of
people are gonna say, oh, but you know, I don't
want to root for people that take away by rights,
Well guess what it's stalking who cares? Just enjoy the
season and get on with it, all right. Anyway, that's
(11:51):
all my ranting I gotta do. Thanks for coming to
my Ted Talk much appreciate it.
