December 2, 2025 10 mins
The Duchess of Sussex kicks off December the only way she knows how: with a fresh avalanche of headlines. Meghan fires back at accusations she kept a designer dress without permission, unveils a meticulously curated “relatable mom” breakfast routine, and once again features Archie and Lilibet in that now-infamous fake-private photo style critics say is more marketing than motherhood. Then she sparks a Thanksgiving food fight after rubbing down a raw turkey—bracelets on, hair loose, no gloves—in what Reddit quickly dubbed “Salmonella Sussex.” We also look at the new As Ever push inside Soho Home, the brand’s traffic struggles compared to Goop, and the viral backlash over her illegible leather bookmark.

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Caloroga Shark Media. Hello and welcome to Pounds Inentury Go.
I am your host. Mark Francis, the Duchess of Sussex,
has firmly rejected an anonymous allegation that she kept a
design address without permission following it photo shoot. The claim
had resurfaced at the weekend after Megan appeared in a

(00:25):
promotional video for her forthcoming Netflix holiday special wearing an
emerald green Galvin Yuschwei gown, the same dress she wore
during a twenty twenty two shoot. In a statement to
The Daily Express, Megan's official spokesperson said, the insinuation that
any items were taken without the full knowledge and agreement

(00:45):
of the onset stylists or their respective teams is not
only categorically false, but also highly defamatory. Any items kept
were done so in total transparency and in accordance with
contractual arrangements. Industry figures noted that it is common practice
for high profile individuals, including members of the royal family,

(01:06):
to retain certain items from photoshoots to prevent pieces later
being resold or used in unauthorized auctions. When source described
the practice as both commonplace and prudent, particularly in cases
where items linked to royal figures can command substantial sums.
The Duchess offered a glimpse into her morning routine with

(01:28):
Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet while sharing her advice for
hosting overnight guests. In a video released on her as
Ever Instagram account, Megan encouraged viewers to create stations so
guests can serve themselves. She was seen decanting her brand's
raspberry preserve into glass jars before assembling a yogurt par

(01:49):
fay layered with raspberries, blueberries and honey. Yes, you could
do a yogurt par fay in a normal bowl, or
you could just make it a little more special, she said,
adding all of this is great for kids. Moving to
a serving board of breakfast waffles, Meghan added cream and
a spoonful of as Ever strawberry jam, calling the flavor

(02:09):
a favorite in her home. Waffles have long been a
Sussex family staple. Following a thoughtful gift sent by the
late Queen Elizabeth, said to a great grandson Archie. In
the twenty twenty one interview with James Corden, Prince Harry recalled,
my grandmother asked us what Archie wanted for Christmas, and
Meg said, a waffle maker. She said, a waffle maker
for Archie. He explained. Meghan makes a beautiful organic mixture

(02:33):
for the machine and then their son loves it, saying
Archie wakes up in the morning and goes waffle. The
same gift reappeared earlier this year, when Meghan made green
waffles for Saint Patrick's Dane, shaping blueberries kiwi and whipped
cream into a smiling face for Archie and Lillabet. The
Duchess has frequently shared glimpses of these family rituals. Her

(02:54):
Netflix series With Love Meghan, released in March. Or Who,
depicts her approach to home cooking and entertaining. In one ep,
So Does, she prepared a breakfast for Tata. She said,
I wake up every morning and I really take a
lot of pride in making breakfast for my family. The
children were further used as promotional videos. Just ahead of Thanksgiving,

(03:14):
Harry and Meghan made a pre Thanksgiving visit to Our
Big Kitchen, Los Angeles, bringing along Prince Archie and Princess
little Bit for a day of volunteer work. The family
joined the Archwall team in preparing and packaging meals for
food in secure residents, with Archie and Lily scene helping
roll dow and assemble meals. Pictures somehow made their way

(03:35):
to People magazine, albeit none provided a clear look at
the faces of the kids. In The Royalist, Tom Sykes writes,
the kids appear in the now familiar format backs to
the camera, faces obscured, a little bit turned in three
quarter profile, always just out of reach, but never actually private.
It's the same routine every time Megan shows the children

(03:56):
but not really reveals them, but not quiet, and pretend
to be actively protecting them from media intrusion while still
using them to market the Sussex brand in the media.
The actual aim of this charade cannot be to keep
their identities private, because between the various angles glimpses, birthday shots,
accidentally on purpose leaks, and cutesy Instagram stories, any normal

(04:20):
human brain, never mind AI, can reconstruct their faces without
breaking a sweat. At the risk of stating the screamingly obvious,
if you really didn't want your children's likeness, knowing, you
wouldn't put their images on the Internet. But that's the point.
Their images aren't being withheld for privacy they're being managed
for value. I'm now convinced that the fake private esthetic,

(04:41):
the grainy hands, the backs of heads, the half faces,
the heavy cropping is just an incredibly cynical marketing strategy.
It allows Megan to posture as a hyperprotective mother while
still releasing images for kids as content ahead of the holiday.
On Thursday, the Dutchess posted as on Instagram story showing
herself mixing seasonings in a bowl and rubbing the mixture

(05:04):
onto raw turkey. She captured the clip let the game begin,
set it to Bob Dylan's turkey Chase, added a turkey
emoji and wrote get it hashtag mum jokes. However, a
number of viewers took issue with the fact that she
appeared to prepare the raw bird while still wearing a
gold bracelet and ring and without gloves. The backlash unfolded

(05:26):
on social media, including a Reddit thread titled Samonella Sussex,
when user wrote, she has the worst kitchen hygiene. The
domestic goddess is clueless. The more she pretends to be
a cook, the more fake she shows herself to be
jewelry rubbing up against the meat, hair shedding in her
grubby paws stroking the poor dead bird. Another commenter wrote, Lordie,

(05:49):
she so obviously knows absolutely nothing about cooking or how
to work in a kitchen. For the safety of humanity,
keep her out of the kitchen. Another person claimed, aside
from the hair, jewelry and bare hands all over that turkey,
it's astonishing how she also had her damn forearms then
across the body of the turkey. At times she might
have well been naked and rubbing the darn thing all

(06:11):
over herself. What an idiot. That's such a treat she
is getting called out like this more palasy, just a moment.
Royal expert Jenny Bond says not to blame Meghan for
introduction gait. Bond tells The Express it sounds so absurd
given the context that this was the second time the

(06:31):
interviewer was meeting Megan, and the first have been so
relatively informal, sharing burger and chips at a restaurant, Bond said,
per The Daily Express, So I suspect that this was
simply a house manager getting overly pompous about the fact
that there was a duchess in the house. Americans standing
get very excited about titles. The expert added, it simply
doesn't sound like the huggy, friendly Megan we see portrayed elsewhere,

(06:55):
so I don't think we should start criticizing Meghan for this.
Megan's latest business move has been to draw mixed reactions
after the Duchess of Sussex revealed that her as Ever
products are now being sold at Soho Home in West Hollywood,
part of the private members club Soho House. In a
video posted to Instagram, Meghan was seen looking over her

(07:17):
items on display, including her honey and fruit spreads. Critics
online were swift to question the collaboration. One user wrote
on x if she was smart, she would open an
as Ever store boutique somewhere, have a real website, and
actually work at the store. These pop ups or renting
space in a store or in Soho House is lame
and cop out because she has nothing to do with

(07:39):
actually selling these products. She always takes the easy way,
or she cuts corners or cuts out before the fail
is flashing in red lights. So her house holds a
notable place in the couple's relationship and spare Prince Harry
recalled their first date at the London site on Dean Street,
writing red cheeked, puffing sweaty. Half an hour late, they
ran into the rest front, into the quiet room and

(08:01):
found her sitting in a small area on a low
velvet sofa in front of a low coffee table. New
figures show as Ever is still far behind Gwyneth Paltrow's
Goop in overall traffic. According to the analytics platform similar Web,
as Ever recorded one hundred ninety six thousand visits in
October compared to eight hundred twelve thousand for Goop. They're

(08:24):
translated to about seven hundred and fifty thousand page views
for Megan's brand versus two point three million for Poultrows.
A Sussex source told Newsweek there was a spike in
as Ever sales in November leading up to Thanksgiving, adding
that everybody's really pleased that some of the gremlines that
were there at the start that are inevitable with any
new business seemed to have been ironed out now as

(08:46):
it related to things like supply chain, production, scalability, that
sort of thing. It all seems to be in a
pretty good place now, but it's still a young business.
There's still and always will be room for improvement, but
it's going really, really well. It's starting to find its
stride now. The duchess is now offering a leather bookmark
sold alongside her as ever Honey at Godmother's bookshop in California.

(09:09):
Images shared on Instagram showed the bookmark clipped to an
illustrated book. The text reads fell Asleep here, but the
cursive lettering left many struggling to decipher it. When social
media user wrote, I literally can't read what the bookmark says.
Another commented, I am not even kidding a little. What
does it say? I cannot read that chicken scratch. A

(09:30):
further critic said, I swear her writing is getting worse.
I can barely read it. That should be packaged with
a book no. Another added, what does a bookmark have
to do with honey? The last thing I do while
I'm reading is use honey. I don't want sticky pages.
Some question the choice of item altogether. Referencing Megan's recent
Bloomberg interview. One user noted Meghan admitted to Emily Chang

(09:52):
that she doesn't even read. How can she promote a bookstore?

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today.
