Speaker 1 (00:03):
Caloroga Shark Media. Hello and welcome to Pallas Weekly. I
am your host, Mark Francis. This is the abbreviated version
with all the stories in short form from the past
week in Royal News, brought to you on Palace Intrigue,

(00:25):
our daily podcast, And if you'd like the full versions
of these stories, please head back and listen to the
daily versions. So what happened in the last week of
Royal News, Well, let's start with Meghan, the Duchess of
Sussex's lifestyle brand is said to appear in two new
Netflix House retail locations, one in Philadelphia's King of Prussia Mole,

(00:46):
the other in Dallas's Galleria. While fans may be thrilled
to see her twenty seven dollar ish items back on
the shelves, critics have pointed out that store workers selling
those goods could be earning less per hour than the
items themselves. Netflix House's advertising roles starting at about twenty dollars,
prompting questions about how much the Duchess is profiting while
frontline employees are earning comparatively modest wages. In a new

(01:13):
interview with Yahoo Lifestyle Australia, Martha Stewart commented on the
comparisons being made between herself, Gwyneth Paltrow and Meghan, remarking, Megan,
I don't really know very well and I hope she
knows what she's talking about. Authenticity, to me is everything,
and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter
is extremely important. Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, is reportedly quite

(01:37):
content with one particular perk of her recent title upgrade,
no longer needing to curtsey to Meghan Markel. After years
as the Countess of Wessex Aunt, Sophie was elevated to
Duchess of Edinburgh, a move that has reshuffled the royal
pecking order. According to Hello magazine, the secret weapon is
said to be relieved by one aspect, in particular her

(01:59):
days of to Meghan and now behind her. A friend
of the Duchess told reporters she no longer has to
curtsey to someone in the family who has not only
left royal duties, but has spent the past three years
criticizing the institution that Sophie works so hard to support.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are taking legal action against
The Daily Mail following explosive claims made in Andrew Lowney's

(02:22):
new biography entitled A Book which paints Prince Andrew in
a deeply unflattering light, includes allegations of a twenty thirteen
fistfight between Harry and Andrew and claims that Andrew made
disparaging remarks about Meghan. Although the book's subject is Andrew,
it's Harry and Meghan who have mobilized their legal team.
A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed to Newsweek that a

(02:45):
legal letter has been sent to The Daily Mail which
serialized excerpts of the book of the Weekend such are
the gross inaccuracies, damaging and defamatory remarks made in the
Daily Mail story. I can confirm the illegal letter from
Prince Harry's council has been sent to The Mail, they stated.
The strongly worded rebuttal continues, I can confirm Prince Harry

(03:05):
and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor
did Prince Andrew ever make the comments he is alleged
to have made about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry.
Prince Andrew was seen in public for the first time
since the release of entitled The Rise and Fall of
the House of York, and according to body language expert

(03:25):
Judy James, he did not look like a man at ease.
The Duke of York was photographed driving a black land
Rover Defender with his former wife Sarah Ferguson in the
passenger seat as the pair headed to Windsor Castle. James
told The Daily Mail his eyes have a weary looking
expression and his mouth has closed with the lips pulled
down at the corners. This doesn't look like someone lost

(03:47):
in thought. He's with his ex wife and driving a
situation where you'd expect more ease, not tension. As for
Sarah Ferguson, James observed her brows are furrowed in a
deep frown, and her eyes suggest sadness pain. Her chin
is raised, perhaps showing resilience, but her lips are pressed
tightly together, as though she's suppressing emotion or attempting to

(04:08):
self protect the truth. It seems maybe even more dangerous
than the rumors. In entitled The Rise and Fall of
the House of York, historian Andrew Lowney has peeled back
the layers of Prince Andrew's private and public life and
what's revealed as a web of sex, scandal, espionage, and
breathtaking recklessness that insiders now say could bury the royal

(04:29):
family for good, From hosting Epstein at Bawmoral and Sandringham
to jetting off with Gallaine Maxwell and partying with Russian
models aboard yachts and Entai Go Go bars. Andrews's behavior,
Lowney allegers, was not only sex obsessed, but often shockingly indiscreet.
Former staff and insiders say he was a mainstay at

(04:49):
Epstein's properties, where sex toys and women's lingerie were found
in his room, and where young women were reportedly paid
thousands in cash after spending time with the Prince. Epstein,
said to have been Trump's go to guy for fun,
was described as treating Andrew like a trophy, an unwitting
super Bowl prize to show off to the world leaders
and intelligence operatives. Lowney's sources suggest Epstein may have passed

(05:14):
Andrew's secrets, possibly including compromising photos and videos, to intelligence
agencies in Russia, Israel, and even Libya. There are concerns,
according to multiple insiders, that Epstein used Andrew as bait
in a broader scheme of access and blackmail. The nickname
Randy Andy, first coined at Gordon's doown may have once

(05:35):
sounded like roguish, tabloid banter, but Lowney's account suggests blies
something far darker. From porn stars to politicians, actresses to aristocrats,
Andrew's escapades span decades. During a two thousand and six
diplomatic visit to Thailand, hotel staff reportedly witnessed more than
forty women cycle through the Prince's suite in one weekend.

(05:57):
A former model recalls being swept to Mustine for what
she thought was romance, only to be discarded after two
days of what she described as kinky requests. Back at home,
staff recall predatory advances, crude comments, and a reputation so
infamous that new employees were warned to avoid him altogether.
Even Messus's hired for professional sessions were allegedly propositioned a

(06:20):
constant sex pest from the start, said one therapist, who
was allegedly subjected to relentless commentary about her body. Prince
Harry has been cleared of bullying and harassment allegations by
the Charity Commission following a bruising public row at Center Bali,
the organization he co founded. In two thousand and six,
but the regulator didn't mince words, and his criticism of

(06:42):
how the internal dispute was handled, blaming all parties, Howry
included for letting a boardroom battle damage the charity's public standing.
The dispute began earlier this year when five trustees and
both founding patrons Prince Harry and Prince Seizo of Lesotho,
resigned in protest over chairwoman Dr Sophie chairs leadership. In response,
Doctor Chandalka accused the group of bullying, harassment, misogyny and misogorenoire,

(07:07):
allegations that sparked a charity commission investigation and widespread media coverage.
Is it possible that Prince Andrew's book is just a
syop to get us to stop talking about William and
Kate's vacation on the secret Saudi superyacht. The Daily Mail
has remained on the case, reporting that Prince George's mystery
craving may have affected their vacation in the rarefied world

(07:30):
of secret superyachts. One does not simply deny the future
king his craving. As the family sailed from Keflania toward
Zachanthos aboard a luxurious yacht. A tender boat was suddenly
dispatched ashore the mission a mysterious specific dietary item requested
by George. While inside had told the Daily Mail nothing extravagance,

(07:51):
just something particular, Naturally, speculation ensued. What could a secret
superyacht chef possibly not whip up at a moment's notice. Carbinara, curry, ketchup,
chicken nuggets all accounted for, Yet the sircinthos As Islanders
were quick to note is one of the few Greek
isles for a McDonald's, conveniently located near the shoreline. The

(08:11):
theory that George may have craved a big mac began circulating, unconfirmed,
of course, and the local franchise was quick to offer
no comment. The media was all too kind to Catherine,
Princess of Wales for interrupting her vacation as in yet
another vacation, to unveil a new initiative from her Royal
Foundation's Center for Early Childhood, a series of seven animated

(08:32):
educational videos designed to support young children's emotional and social development. Now,
had Meghan released animated videos, they would be mocked, but
since they are attached to Princess Catherine, they are, of
course wonderful. Princess Catherine took time from her secret super
yacht vacation or whatever she and William were doing this
week to share via statement. Early childhood is recognized as

(08:52):
a golden opportunity to build strong foundations for a healthy
and happy future life. The Center for Early Childhood's new
animated films shows how adults can create caring and loving
interactions with children, helping to faster their social and emotional
development from their earliest years. One can only imagine how
much time she took from her vacation to either craft
those two sentences or to approve the sentences written by

(09:15):
a staffer. Meanwhile, Radar Online, which we will observe, tends
not to cover stories in the same way as some
other sources we consider, floated a concern about Kate, suggesting
that recent appearances sparked fresh speculation about her recovery. As
the story goes, Observers were reportedly alarmed by her noticeably
fragile frame during an outing to Wimbledon with Prince William

(09:37):
and their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
RadarOnline dot Com reports that Pallas insiders were shocked by
Kate's appearance, with one source saying Kate is painfully thin
and people are worried it's a sign that she is
struggling with her recovery from cancer treatment, or worse, she's
had a relapse. Her absence from June's Royal Ascot and

(09:57):
her markedly reduced presence at public events fueled speculation that
her recovery may be more complicated than initially understood. Word
is she's having a difficult time and has no appetite,
said the same source, claiming Kate has dropped to around
ninety pounds more pounds in just a moment. Sarah Ferguson

(10:19):
is also well discussed in the new Andrew Lowney book,
including her crush on John F. Kennedy Junior, whom she
nicknamed number nine on her private league table of crushes.
Texas businessman Steve Wyatt held the top spot. After learning
Diana had met him briefly, Fergie fumed, he's mine. Why
can't she just leave him alone? Despite never actually meeting

(10:42):
John John, she reportedly spoke of him endlessly, collected photos,
and constructed an elaborate fantasy around their imagined relationship, but
the bulk of the book is less romcom more financial
horror story. After her split from Andrew in nineteen ninety two,
Sarah plunged into extravagant spending with no apparent concern for reality.
A so called self catering summer rental near Khan came

(11:04):
with a full entourage, two Scotland yard offices, a wine
delivery service, and five extra phone lines, including one by
the pool. Builds such as fourteen hundred pounds owed to
her home electricity provider were ignored. I'm not interested, she said.
Sarah is also back in the business game, this time
swapping palace engagements for parenting essentials as she ventures into

(11:26):
the baby care market. Fergie told the Male, I've created
an eco friendly nappy. I think it's very exciting being
a grandmother because the more urgency there is for compostible diapers. Meanwhile,
King Charles is bringing his signature countryside style to the
canine world with a launch of fifty eight dollars tweed
dog coats, now available through the Sandringham Estate Shop. Dubbed

(11:49):
the Happy Hound Coat, the item is crafted in Sandringham
Royal tweed and lined with sherper fleece for warmth. It
features a brown collar and Belton comes in small, medium
in larger sizes, designed according to the shop's description for
frosty winter walks and elegant parkland outings. Among the stories
overshadowed by the Prince Andrew Book was the engagement of

(12:11):
Peter Phillips to Harriet Spurling. A statement issued on their
behalf by Gerard Franklin confirmed mister Peter Phillips, the son
of Hr Rage the Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips,
and Miss Harriet Spurling, daughter of the late Mister Rupert
Sanders and Missus Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today confirmed
their official engagement. Both families were informed jointly of the

(12:33):
announcement and were delighted with the wonderful news. Their majesties,
the King and Queen and the Prince and Princess of
Wales have been informed of the announcement, though date has
been officially set for the wedding. In the engagement photos,
Harriet looked radiant in a frued white ensemble who rings
sparkling as she smiled at her fiance. Peter kept it
relaxed in a plaid shirt, the pair standing clothes and

(12:54):
clearly at ease with one another. And there you have it.
