Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi guys, welcome to Panas to the court. My name
is Stephen Dawes. Thank you for joining me. As always, right,
so I'm going to be talking about the Spurs game.
So as always, if you haven't seen the game yet,
do go and check it out and then come back
and listen to what I've got to say about it.
And what I've got to say first of all is wow. Really, Now,

(00:22):
I know that Tottenham haven't had the best season in
the Premier League this year. You know, they're right at
the bottom of the table pretty much, and you know,
and they've lost a lot of games this season. But
I was still expecting it to be quite a hard
game because I thought, you know, they've still they still
want to get points, they've still got things to prove,

(00:42):
they still want to do well before they get to
their European final, and so I was expecting them to
play play really well. Now. They made eight changes, obviously
because of their previous previous games, but I still thought
it was going to be a tough game for us, really,
But I have to be honest with you, I was
actually disappointed with how Spurs played now, taking nothing away

(01:07):
from us, of course, because I think what we came
out with a plan, and we came out with determination
to play well and we did. We played very well
from almost the very first minute. For all of the
first half. We were a real thorn in Tottenham side.

(01:28):
You know, we were. We were getting forward almost at will,
getting forward, getting into getting into the box, creating chances.
We had two goals chalked off. One was a very
bizarre decision because it was ruled off side from Matteta

(01:49):
who for one was practically in his own half apart
from his arm, and also I think it was just
a regardless, ridiculous decision, but anyway, it was given as
anough side. We then scored another goal which was then
shaltd off because it hit the back of Gayhee on

(02:09):
the way into the goal, and I think that's prob
I mean, technically, okay, is it is a hand ball,
but I think if it hits a player and they
don't know that that's going to hit them and they
you know, and then he was falling anyway, I just
think that should have been one down as a goal.
But anyway, it's just me. I'm probably biased, but that's
my thoughts on it. Anyway, and we were just having

(02:33):
chance after chance, we hit the post, you know, the
keeper had to make a couple of saves and and
it actually got to the point towards the end of
the first half and I thought to myself, is this
going to be one of those games where we have
a ton of chances and then we can see the
goal and that's it, you know, we've lost the game.
Is this going to be like that, because that's happened before.

(02:53):
And but eventually did get the goal and it was
a nice little as a goal, and yeah, it was.
It was a lovely little goal, and I think that
it was It was a relief for me certainly that
we actually managed to put one in the back of
the net just before halftime, literally just before halftime. But
but I really did think that we could We could

(03:15):
easily have gone into that game into that halftime three
or four mil up. That's how poor Tottenham were. And
I was really surprised at how poor they were. But
second half, I've thinking to myself, surely Spurs have got
to come out a bit more resilient. They got coming
out with a bit more fight second half, and they

(03:36):
made a change, but we were still in control of
the game for the beginning of the first half anyway,
But Oliver Glasner said that he felt we got a
little bit sloppy in the second half, and I think
what it probably was. I mean, we did actually get
another got another goal and Lovely was a nice little

(03:58):
goal just after half time, and that made it too
new to us. And but I feel personally that we
kind of just took our foot off the gas a
little bit, you know, because we I don't think we
played top gear the whole game. I think that we,
you know, we were, we were playing at a certain level.

(04:20):
But then I think that I don't think we really played,
you know, our best game because I think that we
didn't need to. And I think second half we maybe
took our foot off the gas a little bit, thinking that,
you know, things were a bit easier and and that
allowed the top Tottenham to come into the game a
little bit more. But again, although they did have a
couple of half chances, didn't really test Dean Henderson a

(04:41):
huge amount. And and so I think, you know, we
it was it was just a really big surprise to
me that we were able to have such an easy game,
one of the easiest games I think we've had this season,
and and that surprises me when you're when you're talking
about a team like Spurs, but you know that that's
the way I saw it as there's no other way

(05:03):
that I can really describe it. But I mean it's
great for us in terms of, you know, we didn't
have to really expel a lot of energy because obviously
we've got the f A Cup Final coming up on Saturday,
So from that point of view, it was good that
we didn't have to really really fight hard in that game.
I think Gus made a lot of substitutions early on,

(05:27):
you know, in the second half to try and rest players.
Things changed a little bit when and Ketya came on
for JP, only because I think JP is a different
type of player. You know, he's more of a target man,
whereas Ktya loves to run around and things like that.
So that changed the dynamic a little bit as well.

(05:47):
And obviously, you know, we we had Shoes and Lurma
at the beginning of the game, but of course they
came off then and we had we had commaderin there
and that, and I think and that kind of changed
the dynamic as well in the middle. So I think
those changes also added to the fact that we perhaps
weren't as potent second half as we were in the
first half, but we still I think had overall control

(06:09):
of the game for the whole ninety minutes. And you
know too, Neil, you I'm thinking of myself, it'll be
nice to get a third, just to make sure that,
you know, Tottenham don't mount a late comeback, because they
were bringing on players. They brought at sun arm to
try and get them goal and things like that. And
he did have a bit of an impact in the game,

(06:31):
but not to the extent that it caused us any
real trouble, I don't think so. Yeah, So overall, I
was very pleased with the game from our point of
view because it was one of those games where we
didn't have to do a huge amount of hard work.
And you know, and I'm just a bit shocked by Spurs.
I mean, I know, I've seen him a couple of
times this season and they have been not very good.

(06:54):
But anyway, that's how it is. I guess you've got
to play the team that comes out, and that was
a team that I think a lot of Spurs fans
will understand that. You know, they've not had a very
good season. We'll have to wait and see what happens
in the Europa League final. But anyway, we have a course,
got our FA Cup game coming up on Saturday, so

(07:15):
I will be giving you some information on that and
the press conference beforehand when that comes around, So don't
forget to stick around for that. Do you subscribe if
you have done so already, so you can catch my
thoughts on that as well. And that is pretty much it.
In terms of players in the game, Munna's had a

(07:35):
great game again. I mean, you know, he was running everywhere.
He was literally all over the place, made so many
runs forward in the first half in particular, like he
was literally but he was literally able to run down
that side at will. You know, you had no resistance
hardly at all down that side. As I of course
had a really game, got two goals, think, but I

(07:56):
think the whole team played well. I really do. I
think that, you know, the back three didn't have a
huge amount to do, but when they did they did
it very effectively. And yeah, I think it was a
good situation for him. Hopefully we'll have Adam Walton back
for the FA Cup final. We'll have to wait and
see on that but anyway, so yeah, that's it. Let

(08:17):
me go down the comment section what you think about
the game, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on that.
As I said before, please do subscribe if you are
knew here and until the next time, Bye bye

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
