Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi guys, welcome to post to the Corps. My name
is Stephen Dawes. Thank you for joining me, and thank
you for your continued support of this channel. It really
does help a huge amount. Right, I've got a few
things to talk about today, not just the pre Tottenham interview,
so strap in because it's going to be a longer
video than usual hopefully. So first of all, I'm going

(00:21):
to talk about the pre Tottenham interview and Oliver Glasdam
was asked about who who would be fit and who
wouldn't and he said, the only person who's not going
to be fit enough to play is going to be
Adam Morton. He says that he was pressed on whether
he would have played him, whether you know, if the
game had been important or were more important, and he

(00:44):
said no, because he's in too much pain. He can't
play with the ankle the way it is at the moment.
He was pressed about whether he would be ready for
the FA Cup final, and after a little bit of deliberation,
he said, I think he's ninety percent sure that he
will reach the semi final, he will play in the final.

(01:05):
I'm not so sure. I don't think that he will
be one hundred percent if he does get to the final.
Oliver Glaser said that he's thinking of integrating him back
into the team on Monday and see how he trains.
I think if he does play, I don't think he's
going to be one hundred percent because if he's getting
a lot of pain to the point where he can't
train now, then I know that, you know, they are

(01:28):
very good at getting getting players recovered quickly. But I
think perhaps if he does play, he won't be one
hundred percent. That's my personal opinion, but anyway, that's just
how I feel about it. But anyway, I mean that
that could well be you know, that could well be
enough to help us. So and see what Oliver Glaser
thinks about that. Near the time, apart from that, he

(01:48):
was asked about Adam Water and again about all the
speculation over him with these big money and moves and
stuff like that. Olive Glasdner said that he's not really
you know, he not really thinking about that sort of
thing at the moment. He's concentrating on Tottenham and the
FA Cup final. He said that Adam hasn't talked about it,

(02:09):
he hasn't come up to me and said I want
to leave so as far as he's concerned, that's it
at the moment. So and he says it'll be the same
with any other player. You know, we're not talking about
that at the moment. We're concentrating on the Tottenham game
and then on the FA Cup. So as he said
before in many occasions before, so so make up that
whatever you will. He was also asked about Tottenham and

(02:33):
about how good he thinks their job has been in Europe,
and he said he's got a lot of respect for
Anchi pasta Cooglu as well as all of the players
because of the difficulties they've had this season with injuries
and stuff like that. But that was kind of that.
That was kind of it. It was main talking about Tottenham
and about how the players are responding, which of course
he's been asked at before as well. So nothing really

(02:55):
new coming out from the press conference at all. The
next thing I wanted to talk about is odds on Edouard,
who was on loan to Leicester City. It looks as
though he's going to be sold to a Saudi Arabian
club now they look like they are interested in him
and apparently Pallas are happy to move him on, which

(03:16):
I think is a good idea because I think he
hasn't really for field his potential at Crystal Palace, and
I think that for Oliver Glasna to allow him to
go on loan suggests that he's probably not part of
his plans either. So is it god be a good
thing for him, good thing for the club to get
him off the wage bill and stuff like that. So
I think it might be a good thing all round, hopefully.

(03:37):
Also bright say Samuel, who is a left back currently
was at Fenabache. He apparently has agreed to four and
a half year deal to come to Crystal Palace. I
think that it's a good idea that we've got an
extra cover at the right back area. Obviously we're going
to need another more cover at the left back area,

(03:57):
especially if Ben Chilwell leaves at the end of the season,
which I imagine he will do, being you know, he's
on loan from Chelsea. I don't think he's going to stay.
I don't think he'll choose to stay on the Palace.
I think he'll choose to go back to Chelsea. So
we'll probably be looking for more left back cover as
well as time goes on. But yeah, so an early
signing by looks of it from bright Ossay Samuel, which

(04:21):
will please Oliver Glaston because you know he likes to
get the signings done early on in the in the season,
although he wasn't asked about it in the press commerce
at least not in the recorded a bit, so that's
interesting to say. The other thing that I was going
to talk about is John Texter. Now I don't know
if you've seen this in the Guardian, but apparently he
is now after all this kerfuffle about trying to buy

(04:42):
Everton which fell through, and now he apparently wants to
refocus his efforts on buying more shares in Crystal Palace.
Now he's been in contact with the American owners of
the club, American shareholders about buying out their share and
if he does manage to do that, it will give
him around eighty percent of the club, so then he'll

(05:03):
be able to go for the majority of stakeholder and
take over the club. Now, I'd love to hear your
thoughts down in the comment section on this one, whether
you think that's a good idea or not. Apparently he
is keen on getting more control over the club, which
considering his relationship with Steve Parrish at the moment could

(05:25):
be potentially difficult, but apparently the American owners aren't against
selling their shares. According to the Guardian, again, they are
becoming a little bit concerned about the ballooning cost of
this new stand that we're putting in, which is now
around two hundred and forty million, So apparently they're a
little bit concerned about that. So there is a possibility
that they will be willing to sell their shares to

(05:47):
John Texter. So if he does, then it means that
we're going to get a majority owned John Texter club
owned club, which would be fine if he was going
to be splashing the cash. I'm not entirely sure that
he can or that he will. I think he's invested
so they said around one hundred and fifty millions so far.

(06:08):
I don't necessarily see him being able to splash much
more cash than that. And certainly, if we want to
keep Oliver Glasner and we want to keep some of
our better players, we're going to need to be splashing
some cash to try and get them to stay on.
So I'm not entirely sure it's a good idea, but
he seems to be continually pushing the idea with the
American shareholders, so we'll have to wait and see what

(06:30):
happens with that. I'm sure that's going to develop over
the closed season, and that is it. So let me
go down the comment section where you think about all
of that. I'd love to hear your thoughts. As always,
please do subscribe if you've got this far and you're
not a subscriber yet, because it really does help the
channel to push on and reach new people. And until
the next time, I'll see you then

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
