Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, guys, welcome to Paras to the Core money and
Stephen Dawes, thank you for joining me and thank you
for supporting the channel. Right. So, obviously the situation regarding
Europe is rumbling on as we all know. But depending
on who you read, there could be two potential buyers
for John Texter's shares, which would theoretically make it okay
(00:23):
for us to then compete in the Europa League, if
of course it's allowed by UEFA and things like that.
So we're not entirely sure even if he is able
to sell the shares in time, whether this will make
any difference. But there are apparently two tables bids on offer.
The first one is Woody Johnson, who is an owner
(00:45):
of the NFL side New York Jets. He is apparently
interested in John Texter's shares. The other one is a
consortium in America including Jimmy Butler, who is an MBA star.
Now it who knows who's going to win. I think
from what I've from what I've read, I think the
(01:06):
Jimmy Butler's consortium have offered around two hundred million dollars
for the shares, so I think it remains to be
seen who they feel is the is the better offer,
if either of them are. So we'll have to wait
and see all that. But that big if is going
to be, of course, whether they allow the sale of
(01:28):
the shares and John Texters, you know, removal from the
club in terms of ownership or part ownership, whether the
you ay foresee that as as you know, okay to
then for Paalace to carry on. Now, obviously they haven't
made their final decision yet, so it could make a
big difference. But I guess it depends on how long
it takes to arrange all of the sales of the shares.
(01:48):
I imagine it's going to take a little while to
do that, and I think probably it might mean that
the the deadline it would already be passed anyway, So
we'll have to wait and see what's going on. Obviously,
it's all a bit up and the air at the minute,
which is really frustrating because as someone mentioned in the
comments on my last video, you know, how can we
plan the transfer market? But this situation, you know, you
(02:12):
can't tell players, oh, well, come to Crystal Palace, we're
playing in Europe next season. If that might not be
the case, which means that you know you're giving. You
know your players are going to have uncertainty. Are we
going to Oh, am I going to have European football
next season or am I not? That affects who who
you can buy, affects the price of people, so you know,
there's a whole other side of this which is is
(02:34):
really frustrating. But anyway, that's how it stands at the moment.
Let me know down the comment section what you think.
Do you have a preferred buyer out of those two?
I have to admit I don't know much about either
of them, so if you do, let me know if
you prefer one or the other, and let me know
down the comment section. Please do subscribe if you've got
this far, to help the channel move forward, and I
(02:55):
see you next time.
