(00:22):
and purchases in and around Paris. We'll have topics for renters, owners and

Barclaire of Perfectly Paris and my cohost is Marie Pistigner of Lokim Paris.
Be a part of it. Bothof us are proud members of the SPLM,
(00:43):
the first representative body of furnished rentalprofessionals. Hello podcast world. Well,
we had a whole season without mydear friend and host Marie, so
for the very first episode of thisnew season, I am so happy to
(01:07):
say we have Marie back. Yeah, Hey Marie, Hey, Yil,
how are you doing it? Iam good. I did, though,
have a lot of fun. Imean, I have more fun with you,
thank you. But I had alot of fun in the last season
just interviewing different people about where theylive in Paris. And what they think
(01:32):
about their RHNDI small their district. So I thought to welcome you back into
podcast land, and for a firstepisode of the season, I thought I'd
ask you all the questions I've beenasking everyone else. What do you think?
Great? Great? I heard someof the episoded and that was very
interesting, very nice and fun aswell. So I'm happy to share also
(01:53):
some of my insights on my honeysmall do do do do? All?
Right? So tell us Marie, what aroundisment do you currently live in?
So I'm currently living since fo yearsnow in the frost arroundisment, and the
frost is a very small roundisment. But I'm between best tea and sample.
(02:15):
This is the way we say.So for your closest metro, what would
you say a little more Batteau? No, right now it's a sample.
It's sample. But in a fewweeks, as I'm moving, but inside
the Arrondis Point, it will belike a street away from my street.
Actually, so it's going it's goingto be a little more Bestiere. But
(02:38):
there is also city molon that Inever take. It's on the line seven,
which is like I don't know, less than one hundred meters from my
place. So oh wow, okay, but I mean, since you've lived
there for a while, I thinkyou know the arroundismo fairly well. Even
your new area you probably know reallywell. Yeah, yeah, sure,
(02:59):
And so you've lived there for afew years, you said, So okay,
I'm going to do this twofold.Since you're moving for the current apartment
that you're in, why did youchoose living in the fourth? Was it
just what you found or was itreally where you preferred to be? So
I have a long term relationship withthe second Archlystment. When I moved in
(03:20):
Paris, it I was in thesecond and that's where my company was,
and that's where my company is actually, and so it's it's almost ten years
night. It was in two andfourteen. I needed to have a larger
place, and the fourth, ofcourse was one of their honiesment I wanted
to be in. But I wasreally stressed by leaving the second Earlystment.
I mean I was afraid to missit and everything. So then we had
(03:46):
this ad that we had, Wehad this alert, you know when you
have some emailings saying okay, there'sa property that's suiting your requirements and so
and this property showed up twice, like one in January, one in April,
and we thought, wow, soit was supposed to be booked.
Then it's available, so okay,this is a sign, let's let's go
for it. Oh that's funny. So it just oh so you didn't really
(04:10):
want to look outside of the secondat the time. Yes, I was
really into the I mean, thefourth was part of the only small I
was okay to move. You know, It's it sounds pretty post to say
that the very central is small.Usually a lot of people are requesting it.
It's sometimes difficult to find a property. The prices can be a bit
(04:30):
high. So so yeah, soand it was tough for me to leave
the second, and like the first, wood would have been a second choice
back then. And so now, well, I guess you feel happy living
in the fourth, right Yeah sure, yeah, of course, because you're
moving now again to the fourth.Yes, exactly. So this is a
(04:51):
choice, even though there is manyOnnlymanes that are great in Paris. I
also, in between I had akid, so there is all the requirements
that are involved, such as maybekeeping him in school at the same school
and keeping the abbits so we couldhave moved because there is like close by.
You have the elevens, the twelfthor the third on this Morne.
(05:13):
It's it's not very far, butI was especially looking for the force in
order to this was my first choice, Like, okay, if I can
move, i'd I'd rather be hereto keep the abits. So with your
apprehension to move from the second tothe fourth, what is it that you
like most about where you're living? Now? What I like is that I
(05:35):
have the chance and all the streettime I'm going to be Those are quiet
streets, but you just walk twominutes and then you are really in the
lively neighborhood with many things, whichis also many strikes as we can we
can hear right now. So yes, you have restaurants, you have shops,
you have like a supermarket, youhave bakeries. I don't know,
(05:56):
it's like the room more Target inthe second which is famous for having a
I don't know them. He'll belike five back ries in the same street.
So it's a bit of the same. And I like the fact that
we are close from the scene aswell, so it's very easy to go
on the bank. We have fewparks, of course, with the kids.
You you target those in particular becausewe're the Plas Devoce, Like it's
(06:17):
a very ship but my son usedto to have his his afternoon stack at
the Plas Devoce since he's born,so like it's it's like a very pensive
area to enjoy the green part ofParis. And what I like also is
that I'm very close. I mean, when you're in Paris, unless you're
in summer, hometis moment where theyare very large. It's complicated to have
(06:38):
sometimes and access to a subway likethe fifteenth or the sixteen. Sometimes you
have to walk a lot before gettinginto a subway station. But where I
am, like, yeah, I'mnot that far from Gardaio, I'm not
that far from Bastie Sample. Butalso on the left bank, like I
just have to cross, like thescene is right here and I can just
cross and it's it's very easy. This is one of the things which is
(07:00):
I mean I have options, yeah, and this is why I like that
around I have options on being onthe quiet side, on being on the
busy side. And I have tosay that my parents are in the Parisian
suburbs in the like on the greenpart on the southeast. And it's also
part of the thing is that whenyou're in the Force, even though the
(07:20):
last time I went to the airport, it's very easy to exit Paris well.
And do you feel that either whereyou live now or where you're going
to be, since they're in thesame kind of area, do you feel
that there's a certain type of vibeto the area that you live in,
like family, couples, tengals, all of the above. Yeah. What
(07:46):
is funny with the Force is thatit's an ant where I am, it's
there is a lot of families.Of course, there is a lot of
schools. But meanwhile the four awnsmentis known also for being the Jewish area
and the gay area where you haveall the clubs and all the bars and
all the very lively nightlife and youhave a nightlife, Yeah, nightlife something
(08:09):
that I've forgot about to have akid. Yeah, yeah, be back
soon. So so now on thepart I am, I feel it's safe
when I'm going out with my familyand everything, and it's also a way
where it could be very lively.I mean it's a very short and tiny
(08:31):
honly small, but you can findthe historical part you can find the modern
part. You can see even thatyou have the same close by, but
also in best team. You know, I don't know if if you had
the chance to speak about the Pode l Arsenal, which is a little
no no, this is sometimes left. So this is close to best team
because for the people who may notknow, you can actually go under the
(08:54):
best tea through the canals. Sothere is this little pole. So what
you like harbor like little harbor whereyou have some boats, yeah, a
point which are right behind Bastia. So it's just interesting to see. We
don't see exactly how they come fromthere, but it's actually there is some
cannon that goes all the way upto studying hard and to that you may
(09:18):
have talked about already, and youcan actually there is a cruise where you
can you start at the products Arsenaland then after you go below the Bastie
and then you follow underground, notunderground, but like between the underground and
under sea. You can follow theBoulevard Lenoir and you are actually below yeah,
(09:39):
your pass below the road. Soit's an interesting and a typical thing
that we can have. And youhave this send of course, and you
have all the historical part. Youhave the Jewish Memorial, which is the
show a memorial, which is notvery far. You have also the very
modern museum for the European photography forexample. And yeah, it's a mixed
(10:00):
of every type of and it's thehistorical part. Of course. It's one
of the oldest on this morning witha lot of history behind. Like you
can walk, and this is oneI one of the things I like about
this is only small, Like youwalk and then you find some old stones
and somethings that are that's really pushingyou medieval. Yeah, she center is
back. So this is one ofthe things I like with the Ernestman.
(10:24):
So I guess it you can fitwith any type of person. It's families,
singles, couples, all of theabove. Yeah, the size of
your apartments it will define if youcan fit a single or Yeah, back
to the real estate topic. Yes, this is one of the things that
because it's a tinier Holy Sman,so you don't have that many apartments available,
(10:46):
and one of the things that it'scomplicated is to have large apartment.
I would say that maybe it's maybeit's a cliche, but I think that
it's easy to have a family, when you need a two bedroom apartment,
when you need to have more whenyou have more kids, it's more complicated.
We have often in the school familieswho are there with the first one,
and when when the second one arrivesand the kids are growing up,
(11:09):
then usually they have to move tosome other honey is more where they can
find a larger place. That's agood point. It's true because it's a
very dense around this moment in termsof heart means. There's something that you
wish that you knew about the areabefore you moved in there that you now
know. Mm, interesting that Iwish. I'm not sure, I am
(11:35):
no, I mean, I wasreally good. It could be bad.
I mean, actually I'm I meanafter it's the way it was. But
it's really that I really don't regretto have moved out from the second hound
this moment, from the part wherewhere I was, and probably if I
knew before, I would have movedout maybe a bit sooner. Oh really,
(11:56):
But you know after it's like it'sa good coincidence this flat that was
available like in January, and thenit pops up again three months after,
Like Okay, that was meant tobe. So yeah, I don't have
any like, any regrets or athing I wish I knew before. I
mean, in Paris, the priceyou can pay at the stores or at
(12:18):
for your place and everything, itdoesn't change that when you're in the very
center, it doesn't change that manchinebetween right, that's true. Yeah,
you're right, because it's it's justa small area. Is there anything else
that you'd like to add about livingin your area? That's great? I
don't know. I invite people tocome and visit, even though sometimes on
(12:39):
the weekend we find it a bittooisty, especially close to Revoly. Revally
is one of the busiest streets ofParis, so it's sometimes like I mean,
it's Paris, so yes, ofcourse you have to rest everywhere,
and you have people coming to enjoythe terrace and everything. So there is
a lot of hidden gem in theIn the first on this point, it
was to look for that, becausesometimes you have some terrace on pitt streets
(13:01):
that are not at all available throughthe road, so you have to double
check and to see and Lepodo Larsonis a nice, a typical thing to
see. So I think that theFrost has a lot to offer and too
but don't say to too many peopleso we can it's a secret nobody hears
us. Yeah. If you're enjoyingthis episode of Paris A State of Mind,

(13:46):
Mind. My last question for youis, imagine that you have the fairy
godmother of Paris apartments and she comesdown and she says, Marie, you
can have any apartment, any typeof apartment in Paris, in any area
of the city. Where would thatapartment be and what type of apartment would
(14:09):
it be? So I would sayI would stay in the fourth I think
because they know right nights. Kid'sbeen ten years, so the previous one
I was more than ten years. In the second early sent with a kid.
You know you're there is more appropriationon on this thing, like it's
a school, it's a kidnergarten,it's a thing you ever run. But
of course, if I had thechance to have got murder fairy tale of
(14:33):
any part of the apartment. Moneyis no object. I would choose to
have like a hundred and fifty squaremeters. And one of the things that
we all want and it's very complicatedto get, is like to have a
terrace, or to have a largebalcony, or to have a view.
A friend of my family as anapartment which is facing the same so it's
like the last floor with a largelong balcony where at least you can have
(14:58):
a Yeah, you can have breakfast, you can have the it's a small
one, but it's still and youhave the view. You overallook Paris,
so it's I mean, at leastthis is a sin. But you see
also the fl tower at the end. Yeah, so to have an outdoor
space. For example, right nowi'm living, I'm on the ground floor.
So we enjoyed the courtyard and wecan make some you know, we
have some plants and some flowers,so it's fun to enjoy this. So
(15:22):
we won't have this in the newplace, so we'll probably miss this.
And yes, if I could choose, if I have all the money that
goes with it, I would definitelychoose a place with a terrace. Nice.
Yeah, it I feel for me, I've been really spoiled because my
apartment that I'm in now for fourand a half years, it's got a
(15:43):
balcony. The one that I wasin for twelve years before had a balcony.
I've only lived in i think fourapartments in Paris, and all of
them have had some sort of outdoorspace except for one. And it's true
I missed it when I was inthat one that didn't have the doorspace.
Yeah, it's rare, and afterthe COVID and everything, it's like,
(16:04):
I mean like this is something thatis more crucial and that is more valuable
for those who have It's like it'sreally anness it. Yeah, so we
never know, maybe the Godmother willpop up one day. Well. Also,
you are very well placed to havea good connection to the fairy Godmother
(16:26):
because you know, you might hearit before somebody else does. Yeah.
So that is all my questions foryou. And of course the listeners know
about you from the description on thepodcast, but can you tell our listeners
a little bit more about you, what you do, and how to contact
(16:47):
you if they're interested in your services. Yeah. Sure. So I'm a
realisted owner, I mean business ownersince two thousand and five. I used
to do a lot of vacation rentalsand now I'm doing more else and medium
and long stay on the furnished place. So if you're looking for a place,
if you want to buy your place, if you want to sell your
place, so you can contact me. My website is block him l okayim

the general emails and I'll make sureI'll get back to you. Just mentioned
that you come from Paris instead ofmine, and I'll be happy to help
you out. And yes, onmy services, it can goes also to
accompany people on their relisted project, plus of course a podcast and some of
(17:37):
the things that I can do onthe side. Well, yeah, because

for people. Yeah, exactly, with a full flag management and everything.
