the store, improvising to the music of the harp, like
David the device their own accompaniment. They drink wine from
bowls and annoying themselves with the best oils. Yet they

A reading from the first Letter of Saint Paul to Timothy.
But you, men of God, pursue righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience,
and gentleness. Compete well for the faith lay hold of
(06:36):
eternal life to which you were called when you made
the noble confession in the presence of many witnesses. I
charge you, before God, who gives life to all things,
and before Christ Jesus, who gave testimony under pontious pilot
(06:58):
for the noble confession, to keep the commandment without stain
or reproach until the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that the blessed and only ruler would make manifest at
the proper time, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
(07:23):
who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, and
whom no human being has seen or can see. To him,
be honor and eternal power. Amen the word of the Lord.
Speaker 11 (07:53):
Ah.
Speaker 13 (07:54):
Then Ah, the Lord be with you. A reading from
(08:20):
the Holy Gospel. According to Luke, Jesus says to the Pharisees,
there was a rich man who dressed in purple garments
and fine linen, and dined sumptuously each day, And lying
(08:41):
at his door was a poor man named Lazarus, covered
with sores, who would gladly have eaten his fill of
the scraps that fell from the rich man's table. Dogs
even used to come and lick his sores. When the
poor man died. He was carried away by angels to
(09:04):
the bosom of Abraham. The rich man also died and
was buried and from the nether world, where he was
in torment. He raised his eyes and saw Abraham far
off and Lazarus at his side, and he cried out,
(09:25):
Father Abraham, have pity on me. Send Lazarus to dip
the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue,
for I am suffering torment in these flames. Abraham replied,
my child, Remember that you received what was good during
(09:46):
your lifetime, while Lazarus likewise received what was bad. But
now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented. Between
us and you, a great chasm is established to prevent
anyone from crossing who might wish to go from our
(10:09):
side to yours, or from your side to ours. He said, then,
I beg you, father, send him to my father's house,
for I have five brothers, so that he may warn
them lest they too come to this place of torment.
(10:30):
But Abraham replied, they have Moses and the prophets. Let
them listen to them. He said, oh, no, Father Abraham,
but if someone from the dead goes to them, they
will repent then Abraham said, if they will not listen
(10:51):
to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded
if someone should rise from the dead.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
The Gospel of the Lord Crazy.
Speaker 14 (11:04):
Lord Jesus Christ.
Speaker 13 (11:09):
My sisters and brothers, Today's Gospel of the rich Man
and Lazarus is about the evil of indifference, of turning
a blind eye to suffering, of not noticing the need
in front of us. What focus, what Jesus focuses on,
is that the rich man not giving Lazarus something to eat,
(11:33):
simply giving him something to eat. So the rich man
made a choice. He chose not to notice. And when
have we been on that receiving end of not being noticed?
Speaker 2 (11:48):
We know it has an impact on us.
Speaker 13 (11:51):
Jesus is always putting before us people who always notice,
who always without hesitation, want to reach out. We witness
many things in our life, but the greatest witness is
to notice others as images of Christ who walk by
us in the disguise of the Lazaruses of this world.
(12:16):
When we notice that Lazarus, that we know our faith
is real.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
When we see a Lazarus.
Speaker 13 (12:24):
We know that our faith can be joyful and sacrificial,
and most of all full of mercy. We pray with
eyes wide open to each other, so others who reach out,
who are at our feet literally and figuratively, can be
seen as another Christ and allow their plight to open
(12:47):
our hearts to the needs of others. So their desire
to be treated with dignity will move our hearts and
make sure that we have our consciences developed that we
do treat human beings better than our animals and pets.
(13:08):
We live in challenging times, not only because of the
trials and stresses of life, but it's easy to become
complacent and sometimes uninterested in others and more concerned with
self preservation.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
That is why the Eucharist.
Speaker 13 (13:27):
Needs to wake us up, to open our eyes and
inspire us to want the same for all. Thank you,
Lord Jesus for always noticing us. Thank you, Lord Jesus
for noticing our hunger and feeding us with your very life.
(13:49):
We give praise to the Lord who is always faithful
as we place our prayers in God's merciful hands.
Speaker 5 (13:58):
Our response is Lord, here our prayer.
Speaker 6 (14:03):
We pray in memory of Andrea Senna, Frank Senna, Marline Senna,
and Frank Senna Junior of port View, Pennsylvania. The intentions
for this Mass.
Speaker 5 (14:19):

Speaker 6 (14:23):
In the spirit of Saint Francis of Assisi, whose feast
we celebrate this coming Saturday. May we always have reverence
for God's creation and dedicate ourselves to the Gospel command
to be people of forgiveness, compassion, love and peace.

Speaker 13 (16:35):
Pray, sisters and brothers, that my sacrifice in yours will
be acceptable to God, the Almighty and Merciful Father sat
A sacrifice.
Speaker 16 (16:45):
Is yours for the praise and glory of God's namely Church.
Speaker 13 (16:51):
Grant us so, Merciful God, that this our offering may
find acceptance with You, and that through with the well
spring of all blessing may be laid open before us.
We ask this through Christ.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
Our Lord, the Lord be with you.
Speaker 13 (17:12):
Lift up your hearts. Let us give thanks to the Lord,
our God. It is truly right and just, our duty
and our salvation always and everywhere, to give you thanks,
Father of mercies and faithful God, for you have given
(17:33):
us Jesus Christ, your son, as our.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Lord and redeemer.
Speaker 13 (17:38):
He always showed compassion for children and for the poor,
for the sick, and for sinners, and he became a
neighbor to the oppressed and the afflicted.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
By word.
Speaker 13 (17:52):
Indeed, he announced to the world that you are our father,
and that you care for all your sons and daughters.
And so with all the angels and saints we exalt
and bless your name, and sing the hymn of your glory,
for as without end we acclaims.
Speaker 17 (18:34):
Less in the name.
Speaker 13 (18:41):
Who Lord, You are holy. Indeed the font of all holiness,
make holy. Therefore these gifts we pray by sending down
your spirit upon them like the defall, so that they
may become for us the body and blood of our
(19:06):
Lord Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and
entered willingly into his passion, he took bread, and giving thanks,
he broke it and gave it to his disciple, saying,
take this all of you, and eat of it, for
this is my body which will be given up for you.
(19:42):
In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took
the chalice, and, once more, giving thanks, he gave it
to his disciple, saying, take this all of you, and
drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood,
blood of the New and Eternal Covenant, which will be
(20:03):
poured out for you and for many, for the forgiveness
of sins.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
Do this in memory of me, the mister real.

and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life
and the Chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have
held us worthy to be here in your presence and
minister to you humbly. We pray that, partaking of the
(21:06):
body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into
one by the Holy Spirit. Lord, Remember your Church spread
throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity.
Together with Leo our Pope, Robert our Bishop, and all
those who serve the Church, the people of God. Remember
(21:30):
also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in
the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died
in your mercy, welcome them into the light of your face.

on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as
we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us
not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord,

we pray from every evil, and graciously grant peace in
our days, that, by the help of your mercy, may
we always be free from sin and safe from all
distress and anxiety, as we await the blessed hope and
the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ for the Kingdom
