Speaker 1 (00:04):
The following content is provided by I Am Refocused Radio
contributor Pastor Vera McEwen. With Love God Ministries will be
sharing today's message and now here is your host, Pastor
Vera McEwen.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Repentance is revival. When you repent, you invoke God's covenant.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Of love.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
For those of you who have somewhere to go. That's
the crux of the message for today. Repent is revival.
Turn with me to Nehemiah Neemiah, chapter one. The readings
(01:05):
are from verse five through nine, which I encourage you
to dive into that word.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
We're gonna hone in on verse five and verse nine.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
In verse five, it says the Lord, the God of Heaven,
the great and awesome God.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Who keeps covenant, who keeps the covenant.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Of love with those that God loves.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
I tell you as a listener this day you are loved.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
You are loved incredibly by God.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
And God is a God who keeps the covenant of love.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Drop down with me to verse nine because it talks
about this place that God has chosen, and God says,
I will gather and I love that word together.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
I will gather. I will gather my people.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
To me and bring them to the place that I
have chosen, a place that I have chosen for you,
for the people, a dwelling place in my name. God's
(03:01):
covenant of Love is where the repentant.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Dwell.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Our confession, our confessions allow us.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Allow us.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
To be in that embrace of the covenant of love,
and that covenant of love through our confession cleanses us,
making us new. Our confessions allow us. The covenant of
(03:45):
love is cleansing.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Turn with me to Psalm one oh two when you
get there.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
The psalms are in this center of your Bible. When
you get there, you may think, are we gonna have
to read this whole thing out loud, because that's gonna
take a while. No, we're gonna hone in on verse seventeen.
But I would love for you to read, you know,
the coin of the phrase for this year.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Let's dive in twenty twenty five. Let's dive into the
divine word.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
I would love for you to dive into that divine word.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Psalm one.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Two, verse seventeen specifically says that.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
God will respond when you confess. When you shoot, turn return,
go back, when you turn from the current fallen ways
that you're in.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
God will respond.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
It says, God will respond to the prayer of the destitute.
God will not despise their please. God responds to the demands,
to the please, to the prayers of the destitute. We
(05:20):
confess so that the covenant of love can cleanse us.
Neemiah tells us that God's covenant of love is where
the repentant dwell, and the Psalmist tells us that God
will respond.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
To us.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Respond to our demands, respond to our please, respond to.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Our prayers of despair.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
God responds to the prayers of the destitute. Turn with
me to revelations or apocalypsus. In the Greek revelation Revelation
Chapter two, the reading is for verses four through six,
(06:19):
but we're gonna hone in on verse five.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
Verse five speaks very clearly to us. Here we are.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
In repentance, recognizing that repentance is revival. When you repent,
you invoke the covenant of.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
Love, and that covenant of love.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Creates you a new responding in a way that renews, revives, restores,
and rejuvenates. Verse five of chapter two Revelations says, consider
(07:16):
consider how far you have fallen. Consider how far you
have fallen. Consider how far you and I living in
this world today have fallen. It says it with an
(07:42):
exclamation point, and then it says repent, and I add
an exclamation point. Shoove, return, repent, turn around, turn back, repent.
Repentance is revival. Confess, and the covenant of love.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Will cleanse you.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Nehemiah tells us that God's covenant of love is where
the repentant dwell.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
That's you and me.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
The Psalmist tells us that God responds, would we repent,
responds to the demands, the please, the prayers of the destitute,
and here in revelation, would we confess.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
And repent as fallen people?
Speaker 2 (08:45):
God responds by cleansing us and making us new. Repentance
is revival. When you repent, you invoke God's covenant of love.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
Turn with me to Matthew.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Matthew, Chapter three, We're gonna hone in verse two and
in verse six. But this is John the Baptist. The
people have met John the Baptist at the River Jordan,
and they are being redeemed there.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
They are being cleansed there.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
They are taking shoes repentance seriously in their confession, and.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
John cleanses them, making them new.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
John says repent. And you know, I think of someone
with a bell saying repent, repent for the Kingdom of God.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
It is near.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
It's a revival at the river, a revival of redemption.
And it says in verse nine that they confess their sins.
Repentance allows the river. Repentance allows the river of redemption
(10:37):
to revive, to restore, to rejuvenate. Confessing allows God's covenant
of love.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
To cleanse us. Repentance is a revival.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
When you repent, you invoke the covenant of love. God's
covenant of love creates a dwelling, a dwelling, a dwelling.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Place for those who repent in love. God responds.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
In love, listen closely in love. God responds to the
confessions of the criminal with cleansing. God responds to the
confessions of the criminal with cleansing. God responds to the grateful.
(11:58):
God responds to the great panful.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Groans. You know how it gets when.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
You grown, because you don't even know, in your repentance,
in your penitence, what to say. God responds to the
groans of the grateful with favor.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
God responds to the prayers of the people.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
God responds to the prayers of the people with promise.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
God responds.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
God responds to the desires of the destitute with a
dwelling place. God, the God that we serve, the creator
(13:01):
of all things. God responds to the request of the
repentant with revival. Repentance is revival. When you repent, you
invoke God's covenant of love, and you are created anew.
(13:34):
We are so incredibly fortunate to have a space and
a place for revival. I've been cleaning the back part
of the property that we commune with, and there are
all these.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
Piles of dead leaves, dead old leaves from last year,
dried up.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
There are even some that are still wet underneath the
dried ones.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
So when I was out there blowing.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
The dried leaves into a pile, I noticed that under
the wet leaves there were all these little green new growths.
Some of them were little maple trees. I would pull
(14:34):
the little maple trees and put them in a line
so that they could grow and flourish.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
We can learn from nature.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
How a revival should be. You see in the back
part of that property is a revival going on.
Speaker 5 (14:56):
From the old, dead, dried correctly leaves to the wet
leaves to the ground underneath that contains those new gross
that are coming and sprouting all green.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
Repentance is revival.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
And God is growing a newness in you, cleansing.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
You and making you anew.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
When you repent, God's covenant of love surrounds.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
You in an embrace that allows you to revive, to.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Regenerate, to grow, and be restored to full health, wellness,
well being.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
We can learn from nature revival.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
I am so excited because I will be taking my
compost down to that pile of leaves. And what I've
learned is that as I put my you know me,
I have all kinds of carrots.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
I've grind up carrots for.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Juice every day about seven to eight, and I have
a ton of compost. So no longer do I have
to take it to the compost area. I can compost
in the back part of the property and I can
take that compost that I'm creating with the watermelon, the carrots, celery,
kiw all those things that I'm grinding down or all
(16:31):
those things that.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
I'm using, put it in the back. And this is
what I've learned.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
To put some of those dried leaves because they are
still usable.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
Because what will happen to those dried, old cracked.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Leaves as I put them in the compost pile is
I will layer them compost dried leaves, composts dried leaves.
Composts dried leaves, maybe some sticks and things in there too,
compost dried leaves, and then I'll turn and rate those
on a daily basis, compost dried leaves, and those old cracked,
(17:08):
dried leaves will turn into this glorious soil, a soil
that will revive and.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Create new growth. Repentance is revival, and we can learn
revival from nature, God's glorious creation. One of the things
I like.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
To do is have a revival, and we will be
having a revival here at Love God Ministries in a
couple of weeks on the eighteenth of June. You're more
than welcome to them, and we invite your prayers. The
revival will be a revival of prayer because we all
(17:56):
need that prayer, a revival of prayer. So as we
go through this revival, learning revival, we will commune together
in community. This past week, I was fortunate to be
able to hang.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Out with my team. They like the leaves, had become
dry and crumbling.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
We had been working on this application for over a year,
and every time we thought we had success, something around
it would bring it down in some way, and so
I thought, you know, I need to revive my team.
Now I didn't tell them it was a revival. You
don't go into Corporate American and say, hey, we're having
(18:47):
a revival. But it was a revival. It was a
revival called fifty five Minutes of Fun. But of course
I had some learn in there, because when you're in revival,
you're learning.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
And you're growing, and you're creating new sprouts.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
And so we learned to breathe together in community in
a way that opens up the lungs, the diaphragm. And
when I taught them those breathing techniques, we began to
move and open up our bodies so that we could.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
Breathe deeply in community and.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
Remove some of that anxiety, some of the stress. And then,
of course, you know, I had them go out in
nature and they had to do some collecting, collecting things
that had fallen, like old dried leaves or green leaves,
whatever had fallen, some rocks and sticks.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
And we created because that teaches us.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
Calm, breathing, moving, going out in nature, revive in community.
And then finally I had them do and learn some
more things about a different community within our culture.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
And in doing that, in doing that learning, they.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
Created all of these cool things and we were laughing
and joking.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
I have pictures of them laughing and joking. That's what
a revival is.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
It's a restoration of joy, a restoration of jueliance, a
respiration of community in unity.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
Gathered around.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
This covenant of love, which is the dwelling place for
you and me.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Repentance is revival.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
One of the things that I've been doing, in addition
to work in remotely for a corporation being a full
time pastor, which I absolutely.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Love, is also helping to care for my mother.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
It's glorious when the company that you work for allows you.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
To care for your community as well.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
And so three days a week I care for my
mother and my other sister does the heavy lifting.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
She cares for her every other day, every other hour
of the week. And what we've noticed.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
Is that the change and the way we care for
her from having caregivers come in and go and just
inconsistency in that.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
Care, is that There's been a revival within my.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
Mother, a revival of this joy and laughter and happiness,
a revival of conversation, a revival of being in community
with those who love her. That covenant of love between
(22:07):
child and mother, that covenant of love between parent and child,
that covenant of love between community.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
That revival can happen. You can ignite, You can invoke.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
A revival in your community, at home, in your office,
at your school, at your playground, and your ministry. Repentance
is revival when we invoke revival, when we invoke restoration,
when we invoke rejuvenation.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
When we repent, it.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
Is the invocation, the invite of the covenant of love
to surround all of us and cleanse us with that
living water to make us new.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Revival is.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Repentance, and repentance is revival.
Speaker 6 (23:19):
When we invoke, when we repent, when we invite.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
When we repent, we invoke God's covenant of love to
cleanse us and make us new. May the peace of
(23:52):
our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all ways.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
Now share that repentant, reviving, restorative peace with everyone you
meet this day.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
