to heaven, the path to heaven just got lost in
(01:53):
the noise of modern faith right between prosperity preaching and
uttered down grace. Uh, listen, that's a big statement there.
But I'm looking forward to this discussion because in his
book A Different Perspective, Leroy cuts through the confusion with
(02:17):
raw truth with a radical testimony in over two hundred
Bible verses that don't just inspire, they warn. Listen to
me when I tell you people, this isn't feel good spirituality. Okay,
it is a wake up call. And if you've ever
(02:38):
wondered am I truly heaven bound? Your answer starts here.
Leroy is the man of the hour. He has a
lot of information, a lot of wisdom that's going to
be able to back up his points. But you're gonna
want to sit back and strap in. I promise you
the education is gonna be second to none. There we go,
(03:00):
Leroy first and foremost, welcome to people of distinction, and
thank you very much for being a guest with us.
How are you doing today, man.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
I'm doing great. Man. Thank you for having me. God,
it is good.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Appreciate it, mister absolutely, listen, we appreciate you. Okay, we
appreciate you. Your book is Lee Roy. Your book is
something special, Okay. It is something that is going to
offer a lot of wisdom. It is a stroll down
memory lane for you, but it is a wonderful education
(03:31):
for your readers, and we're looking forward to this. Let's
start off at the foundation before we jump into your book.
I want to know a little bit more about yourself
and your background. And listen, the book has a lot
that it's going to cover, and I know it covers
in part your background as well, so there is certainly
going to be some overlap, not a problem whatsoever. Let's
(03:55):
start off, like I said, at that foundation, who is Leroy,
you Bailey Junior.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Leroy you Bailey Junior. Me, I'm a man of Christ.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
First of all, I'm a husband, I'm a father, and
I'm just a person that tries to help anyone where
I can, you.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Know, And that's just me.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Love that. Well, listen, you know, a man of Christ
is exactly what we need right now, because man, listen,
this book is this book is talking about that and
clearly the information found within is coming from a knowledgeable place,
right And that's that's really where I want to go next.
(04:35):
Without further ado, the book is entitled a Different Perspective
on how to reach Heaven. You must be born again.
Tell us a little bit more about it, and you.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Must be born again?
Speaker 3 (04:48):
You know that part is the key I'm that book,
you know, because and in a lot of ways, you know, some.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
People don't even know about being born again.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Because I myself, when I first went to the church,
I went to New Hope Apostolic Church in two.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Thousand and six, I didn't even.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Know anything about any holy ghosts. Yeah, you hear holy
Spirit and so forth. But the way how this was
preached on to me, I had no idea about the
holy ghost. You know, and so once I came to
the knowledge.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Of that, I said, I have to write about it.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
So my book, you know, is based on the three premises,
you know, like the fall of mankind, you know, sinning
and so forth. The Wages of Sin is the second one.
And then how can you be buried with Christ so
that you can rise again to make it to heppy?
You know, that's pretty much a premise of my food.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Well, listen, man, I you know, I think that's going
to offer a lot, right, And before we go into
the wisdom that the book itself offers, I want to
know something of the wisdom that we can pick up
from your story and in your journey, right, because you
describe your past as as a treacherous life of sin.
(06:05):
And let me first and foremost, man, listen, I love
the categorization right because it's it's descriptive, it is it's vivid.
It gives a powerful image for us in the moment
we hear it, even without you know, without even knowing
your story, we see those words and we have an
understanding of what to expect. Well, let's go a little
(06:28):
bit further with that, man, what was the churning point
for you?
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Lee?
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Roy went, when did you When did you realize that
you needed salvation?
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Well, for me, I grew up in a tiny island
of Jamaica, and my grandmother would always take us to
church and so forth.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
I would always you know, love when.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
The music was playing and so forth, and when the
preacher started preaching, I just went to sleeping.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
You know, I didn't really understand it, but I just
liked it.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
And you know, growing older and so forth, you know, lying,
stealing all these things, and it was like whatever, you know,
you can do it and get away with it, you know.
So then when I migrated here to the United States
with my mother, you know I started going to high school.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
I seeing a lot of bad things.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Going on with kids not going to school, getting involved
in gangs and so forth.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
But for me, I never wanted that stuff.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
I never was a person who was drinking and doing
all those things. I guess there was just something always
in me, based on my grandmother correct that caused me
to not do certain things. But you know, once I
got to college, I started you know, drinking, you know,
sleeping around with different girls and so forth.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
You know, that's a big thing for me back then,
and you.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Know, I didn't. It was inside of me. It was
always telling me, you know, you can't be doing that.
So there were more things that I could have done
that I didn't do.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
You know, I didn't sleep with as many women as
I could.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Have because there was always something in me saying that
do that. And then I go to a lot of
clubs as I could have because there was something in.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Me say don't do that. Don't do that. So there's
always been this conflict in my soul, in my life
of singing and not sinning.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
And so when I graduated from college, I came to
Massachusetts for work and then someone I went to a
Verizon store with a girlfriend I had at the time,
and a person came in there and said, hey, you
look very familiar and I said, man, maybe I have
a familiar faith. And he said, why don't you come
to church with me one day? Man, And he talked
to me and stuff. My girlfriend at the time, as
(08:33):
I said, she wasn't in line at the time. She
went to the store next door and he spoke with me,
and then as soon as she came back, you know,
I stopped talking with him. I said, I'll talk to it,
and I started talking with him. So for me, I'm
going to say, if she was there or if she
were there, I probably wouldn't have spoken with him, but
I'm glad I did.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
I took his card and everything.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
And then one day him and I met at a
dunkin Donuts with he drank coffee, I drank a chocolate.
We were talking, and then I went to the church
and these things were just preached on to me, the
only gohoes, baptism and Jesus name. And then it really
showed me why I had those conflicts in my life,
Like I was rooted in Christ from my grandmother and
(09:12):
then I just.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
Got out of it and started doing what I wanted
to do. So in college I had this conflict.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
So when he spoke with me about the scriptures as
we met, and then when I went to church, it's
like it just clicked in me that this is what
I needed to do, and that's how I got to
understand I love that.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Okay, all right, well listen, you know, continuing along this
line here, Lee Roy, You're you're talking about your background, right,
You're talking about your particular journey in the things that
you had done prior to coming to this point of
salvation and listen, man, I gotta be upfront with you,
(09:49):
like I think it formulates a wonderful bridge for our
listening audience members, but I know that for your readers
as well, right, I mean, this goes deep because many
people they struggle with, they struggle with the feeling that
they're too far gone for God's grace. Right, They've done
(10:11):
too much to be recognized to be saved. And that
is a crucial component that I know you battled with
and I know you address in the book. So let's
go there next. Man, as someone, as someone that has
gone through their own treacherous journey as you've categorized it,
how do you respond to someone who believes that their
(10:32):
past sins disqualified them from heaven.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
It's never too late, man, That's why Jesus came. He
came to die for our sins so that we can
make it. God knows that we were not capable of
doing this on our own, and you're not capable of
doing this on your own. You find yourself a church
and you start talking, you know, talking with the pastor
make sure there's a church that's a Bible believing church
that's able to expound upon the scriptures like I'm about
(10:59):
to do and just let you know the way of
salvation that it's never.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Too late for you.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
There's always hope and in Christ. But there's just certain
things that you have to do within yourself and for
yourself in order to save yourself, like the Bible says
an X two, verse forty, save yourself from this untoward generation,
you have work to do.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Well.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
In addition to what you just stated, let's go even deeper. Man,
what are some practical steps that you would recommend for
someone who wants to deepen their relationship with God daily?
Speaker 3 (11:35):
Start praying, you know, becoming godly sorrowful, you know, making
sure you know within yourself that, man, I'm doing these
things that I know I shouldn't be doing. And you
know what, Lord, I'm sorry for what I'm doing. I'm
sorry for this, Please help me. You have to first
go back to the source and let him know a
knowledge that you know that what you're doing is wrong,
(11:56):
and have that contrast speriod and make sure your heart
is contract enough to say, you know, Lord, I'm sorry,
Please help me.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
You have to repent first.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
Now, the next step is, as the Bible says in
actual thirty eight, repent and be baptized. Everyone if you
in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission or
removal of your sins, and you shall receive the gift
of the Holy Ghost. You need the Holy Ghost and
you need the baptism in Jesus Name.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
And I'm going to explain why in a little bit.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
People, I'm telling you, he's going to explain why in
more detail and just a little bit. But I'm going
to say it to you again, man, I look for
I don't even think it needs an explanation. I think
you already understand why you need to pick up copies
of this book. But I'm going to say it again.
All right, it's entitled a Different Perspective on how to
(12:45):
Reach Heaven. You must be Born Again. Make sure to
check out the second edition, right You're gonna want to
grab the latest and greatest, and that's available through Amazon,
through Barnes and Noble. But most importantly, man, it's how
to Reach Heaven. Dot head on over there, pick up
your copies today and just get lost in this magnificent book,
because I promise you, once you pick it up, man,
(13:09):
you're gonna be like a freight train. You're just go
you you won't be able to be stopped. You're going
to be moving some mountains and this is going to
be an amazing addition to your bookshelf. Head on over there,
pick it up and get started today. Okay, Lee Roy,
All right, man, listen, let's let's continue paying it forward.
(13:31):
Right there is there's so many gems here to really
be uncovered. But listen, we live in a skeptical world. Okay.
We have people out there and it doesn't matter how great,
doesn't matter how how clear something may be, there will
always be those skeptics and there's always those people that
want to cast doubt, that that want to cast aspersions. Well,
(13:56):
let's let's talk to them here for a minute, and
let's go into a little bit more detail.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
Well, for me, it's these are not my words, so
you don't have to listen to me personally, but listen
to the scriptures that I give you. Right you know,
the Bible is the Bible, it's right here. God does
not need man to interpret it for him. He can
interpreted himself to you. My job right here is to
(14:23):
show you where these scriptures are and youble to read
them for yourself. The first thing we talk about the
fall of mankind. Right, Adam and Eve and Genesis chapter three,
they sind you know the story. You can go Genesis
chrapter three and you can read it and see what happened. So, now,
because of that, what's his name? David said in Psalm
(14:44):
fifty one in round verse five that behold, I was
shapen in iniquity and then sin that my mother could see. Right,
and then Rumins three verse twenty three says, for all
of sin and come short of the glory of God.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
So because of what Adam and Eve did, we were
all born in sin.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
So now that I told you, you're born in sin,
because the Bible says it, not me.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Right, what is the price of sin?
Speaker 3 (15:09):
That's what Romans six twenty three tells us that the
price of sin is dead. So we don't want to
be died dead. We want to we want to be
with Christ and anyone. If you sin, you're separated from God.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Right.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
Sin is doing anything that God tells you not to
do in the Bible, and when you do that, you're
separated from God.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Now, how can you.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Become one back with him? Talks about being buried with Christ? Right,
I just mentioned to you acts to thirty eight that
repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ
with the permission of your sin, and ye shall receive the.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Gifts of the Holy Ghost. Why do you need to
be baptized in Jesus' name? Because in Galatians.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
Three twenty seven it tells you that as many of
us have been baptizing into Christ, are put on Christ.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Put on Christ.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
Yeah, because Romans thirteen fourteen always says, put ye on
the Lord Jesus Christ, and may not provision for the flesh.
How can you put on Jesus Christ. I just told
you Elations three twenty seven.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Why do you need to put them on? Because that's
how you eradicate sin.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
You cannot go to heaven without your sins washed away.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
So being baptized in Jesus'.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Name is the way to go, like I just read
to you, right, and then after your baptized in Jesus name,
that's one way you're dead in Christ. Like in Romans
chapter six also talks about being buried with Christ after
your baptized in Jesus name. And so then in Romans
chapter eight tells you why you need the Holy Ghost.
(16:37):
It tells you that that same spirit that raised up
Jesus from the dead will also quicken your motal body.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
And that's what you need to do.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
First, you need to be baptized in Jesus name to
die to Christ, and then you need to be filled
with the Holy Ghost so that that spirit which is
life will quicken your motial body in the end, because
your physical body is not going to heaven.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
The spirit that's in you, he's going to raise up
and go to heaven with God. Let me explain that
I've more to you.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
So we have in first Thesalonians chapter four, we thought
at verse thirteen says, but I would not have you
be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are sleep, that ye sorrow,
not even as others which have no hope. For if
(17:25):
we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so
them also which are asleep, which means dying Christ sleep
in Jesus, will God bring with him.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
So you have to die in Christ for God to
bring you with him. And I'm gonna explain that in
a little bit.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
For this we say unto you by the word of
the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto
the coming of the Lord, shall not prevent them which
are asleep, For.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
The Lord himself shall descend.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
From heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel,
and with the trump of God, and the dead in
Christ shall rise. Then we which are alive and remains,
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
And so shall we ever be with the Lord. So
you say what.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
You mean by dying Christ, I'm gonna explain that to
you even more if you go to a Romans chapter six.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Romans Chapter six, verse three to five.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Says, know ye not that so many of us as
were baptized into Jesus Christ keywords baptized into Jesus Christ,
were baptized into his death.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
That like as Christ was raised up from the dead
by the glory of the Father. Even so we also
should walk in the newness of life.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
For if we have been planted together in his likeness.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
Of his death, we shall we shall be also in
the likeness of his resurrection.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
WHOA what is that like his resurrection? All right, let
me go to the last from Romans chapter eight, and
we're gonna read from verse.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
Ten to eleven, No. Nine to eleven. But ye are
not in the flesh, but in the spirit. If so
be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now,
if any man had not the Spirit of Christ, which
is the Holy Ghost, he's none of his.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
And if Christ be in you, the body is dead.
So hear that word again, how your body dies? Right?
Speaker 3 (19:34):
The body is dead because of sin, but the spirit
is life because of righteousness. But if the spirit of
Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you,
he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also
quicken your mortal bodies by his spirit that dwelleth in you. So,
(19:54):
as I read to you in first Thessalonian chapter four,
you have to be dead in Christ in order to
be raised up with Him.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
Right, And I just showed you how you can die
in Christ. And we go back to the main scripture
that people talks about.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
And one of the main promises of my book of
why you must be born again.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Is in John three when Nicodemus.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Went to Christ and he said, and this was what
he said from verse John three, from verses one to seven,
there was a man of the Virases named Nicodemus, a
ruler of the Jews.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
The same came to Jesus by.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
Night and said, unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou
art a teacher come from God. For no man can
do these miracles that thou doest accept.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
God be with him.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
Jesus ignored totally what he said, and just said this
to him in verse three. Jesus answered and said, unto him, verily, verily,
I say, unto thee. Accept a man be born again.
He cannot see the Kingdom of God. Nicodemus said, unto him, keywords,
Listen to this. How can a man be born when
he's Can he enter the second time into his mother's
(21:03):
womb and be born? Jesus answered again verse five, Verily, verily,
I say, unto thee. Except a man be born of
water and of the spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom
of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh,
and that which is born of the spirit is spirit.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
Marvel not that I said unto thee. He must be
born again.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
So I told you, if all of man can because
of sin, the second one, the price of sin is dead.
The third one is how you need to be buried
with Christ. And I spoke about that with you, and
how you need to be risen again to go with Jesus.
And that's what he told you.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Here.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
You must be born again, which means you will die
first and then the Holy ghost comes in and you're
born again. Also, you need the baptism in Jesus name
to die the sin and the holy gohals so that
you can get that in your spirit, that power, that
what they call it dunamous, so that you can be
risen to walk in the newness of blood.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
That's plish.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
People. Listen, this man is preaching. Okay, listen. I knew
today was gonna be an education. I was not prepared
to be taken back to church. Okay, listen, you're joking,
is sid You got to pick up your copies of

like it says right there in the title, it's going
to offer a different perspective. Okay. It isn't just the
compelling read, although it is. It's a reckoning. So head
on over, pick it up, open your hearts, and be
(23:19):
