watching these two episodes, and we'vewritten our answer down and sealed it in
an envelope and we will share thisat the end of the podcast and we'll
(04:27):
see if after podcasting we still standby our choice of murderer. So excited,
okay? Episode one the show MustDot Dot, Directed by John Hoffen,
written by John Hoffan, Sas Goldbergand Joshua Alan Griffith. So at
the top, we see a childwatching this woman perform on stage. Turns
(04:48):
out to be young Loretta, andwe see a montage of her through her
life as a struggling actor until shefinally gets a part in Oliver's play.
And then we get the opening credits. So what did we think about this,
this little opener here with Meryl?I thought of you, Jade,
I of you. I thought ofme too. I thought it was really
(05:11):
beautiful and it was it was interestingto hear Charles being you know the voiceover.
I was I was a little surprisedby that, but it was really
beautiful. I also thought you knowhow lucky this little girl is to watch,
you know, this production of Cinderella, but also to come right up
to the stage, you know.So it wasn't Cinderella. So I thought
for a long time that this songwas from Cinderella too. This is this
(05:32):
the song is the sweetest sounds Hammerstein. Right, it's Hammerstein because oh,
sorry, Rogers, because Hammerstein hadpassed away in nineteen sixty and so Roger,
Yeah, Richard Rodgers kept on composing. He wrote like the whole song.
He not only composed it, hewrote on lyrics. So this this
is from the music, the Broadwaymusical No Strings, that was I believe
(05:56):
it was written exclusively for Diane Carrolland Chard Kelly. This premiered in nineteen
sixty two at the fifty fourth StreetTheater and then it transferred to the Broadhurst.
But we see this Gooseberry Theater, and obviously, well for those of
you who don't live in New Yorkor know about the theater scene, there
is no Gooseberry Theater. I believethe exterior and I think the interior is
(06:17):
the long Acre Theater, which I'vebeen to several times. Right now,
it's empty. So that's another reasonthat it gives me. It's been empty
for a while. I think thelast show that was there was like Macbeth
in twenty twenty two. Yeah, yeah, so it's been it's been dark
for a minute. But yeah,so this is so this was from this
(06:38):
song The Sweetest Sounds was used inCinderella, but it was written for No
Strings, which I don't know anythingabout that musical no Strings, but I
will say the actor who's playing DianeCarroll looks exactly like Diane Carroll. I
was very impressed. It's beautiful.It's a very beautiful song. I don't
know what it is with how theypresent things or the choices that they make,
(07:00):
but I just, immediately, withoutquestion, I was like, okay,
so obviously that's Meryl Streep's character andhe saw the brains. Yeah,
I was like, okay, soremembering in the trailer, and I just
I don't know, like when Charlessays was one of his you know,
he starts off with the you knowas you like it reference all the world's
(07:24):
a stage and blah blah blah, and then goes into but if you know,
we all know how that one goesand says, but if you are
the theatrical type. Chances are youbecame smitten at a very young age.
And I just immediately flashed back tolike the very first musical I can remember
saying, and the first musical Iever saw was Brigadoon and it was like
(07:47):
I was in awe and I rememberwith my mom and my grandma, and
my mom was just like, youwould shut you wouldn't shut up about it,
like we I think I was five. And then the next that summer
she took me to see Annie atthe World of Them in downtown Houston,
and I like, it's true,Like I was hooked after that, and
(08:11):
it just it gave me all thewarm fuzzies thinking about how magical being in
the theater can really feel. AndI was just like, damn, I
miss the show, Like yeah, miss the theater, Like I need to
go back. And that was justsuch a nice way to start off the
nice gray I was. I wasall in already. I was like,
(08:33):
Okay, yep, you gave mechills, but you're right, it's it
does take you back. My firstshow I saw was lame, not lame,
Miss Missigon, and yeah, butit was a Tory cast. But
I'm not complaining dating from the Mickeymouse Club, the original, not the
original original, but the Mickey mouseClub of the nineties. My my generation
(08:56):
was on playe Kim, and Ijust was like, it can't get any
better than that. It's cool, but you know, you're right that that
beginning was beautiful. It was whatdid you think about it, Jade?
Because I owe so much of you. I was, It's like a mixed
emotions because I was I was sohappy that we got to see Meryl Streep
(09:16):
right away and how she's going toplay into the season. That made me
really happy that we didn't have towait for it. And yeah, I
just got to say this opening montageof her auditioning and practicing and the voice
over, you know, with SteveMartin saying you know, he's saying,
you're trying so hard to be apart of something and it's just a lifetime
of no. And it's really hittinghome for me, especially right now,
(09:41):
because you know, the industry isit's in quite it's in quite a state,
and jobs are scarce, and wherethere's already a lot of no like,
there's even more now. So it'sespecially a difficult time to be an
actor and it's it's just a difficulttime to keep the motivation up. And
I found a lot of help ingoing back to be like talking with my
(10:03):
therapist, like why did you startacting? You know, remember remember that
and like do more passion projects andyeah, just seeing all of this reflected
like it gave me such sadness, but it also gave me like a lot
of hope and it stopped watching stufflike this just gives me more drive.
It never shuts me down. Rejectionalways fuels me more to just keep going
(10:24):
for the next audition, you know, but so intense too, like watching
that that one line that Steve Martinsays at you know, and you know
it's year after year rejection, overand over again, near miss after near
miss, until you realize that nearmiss has become life, become your life.
(10:46):
I was just like, oh,we're just starting heavy here, and
that's what it is, even forlike, even for a successful actor,
you always feel like the near misshas become your life. You always focus
more on the negative reviews and theyou know, it's always the best louder
voice. So yeah, yeah,I think that's human nature. Oh you
know, yeah, totally. Basicallywe tend to focus on you could have
(11:11):
ten, you know, positive reviews, ten great things that happened to you,
and then you'll focus on the onenegative. But I will say Meryl
Streep, I would watch her readterms and conditions like I did not expect
to get chills watching her in thisopening within the first five minutes of the
(11:35):
shows. Yeah, but I feellike stopped taking notes, I stopped doing
like I had been typing furiously. But the more she kept talking, I
was just like completely drawn in.And then watching you know, when we
get to later her bad acting,I was like, damn, she's good,
Like this is just I had chills. Yeah, and I thought that
(11:56):
it was going to be she wouldMy prediction would we did our trailer breakdown,
was that she was going to bethe bad actor. And that's why
Paul Red was saying, she's astink rooney, you gotta fire her.
But no, she's not the badactor at all. She's a good actor.
She's just a little you know, maybe the character. Yeah. And
I feel like all people all, especially like older people in the theater,
you know, they're all like kindof characters will get to it later.
(12:18):
What I think of Meryl Streep's characterbut but what I want to have to
say about Meryl Streep's acting in thisfirst moment is there's something my acting teacher
was talking about recently, allow yourselfto just surprise yourself, and that actually
really helps you in auditions. Becauseauditions suck, no one's good at them.
I kind of enjoy them because they'reimpossible. So I kind of look
(12:41):
at it in an absurd way oflike, it's an impossible task to become
everything in five seconds, and inthis unnatural situation, it's just ridiculous.
So I just kind of like takethat and have fun with it and auditions.
And when Meryl Streep starts out andshe drops everything, she drops her
bag, her script, she likedoes this thing where she surprises herself and
(13:01):
she like shocks herself into the moment, and I was like, God,
that's so brilliant. That's yes thatAnd I want to like steal that because
not only does it wake up theperson who's auditioning you, but it wakes
you up too if you're all ofa sudden, because starting an audition,
just getting off on that first foot, like that first step as a runner
when they when they say on yourmarket set, go that first sentence you
(13:26):
say is always the hardest because youjust got to start off on the right
foot. And so the fact thatshe just dropped everything and started I just
I really admired that and got sucha kick out of its brilliant I can't
remember what movie she finished fairly recentlywith a bunch of other you know,
well known actors. Jennifer Lawrence gavean interview about it, and they were
(13:48):
joking around about how they called Merrilthroughout filming the goat, and it would
refer to her like to her faceas the goat, like, oh,
the goat, like I'm over here, and they were taking a picture or
something and Jennifer and everyone were like, yeah, the goat, you need
to be over here, and she'slike and Meryl was like, oh yeah,
the old goat, like the oldthought they were calling us actual just
(14:15):
and Jennifer Lawrence was like, holdon, do you do not go know
what that means? So she wasjust like that just tells you everything you
need to know about Meryl, Likethe entire time, She's put up with
us calling her the goat, thinkingwe were calling her like this old goat.
And I was like, because she'sjust that. I mean, I
(14:37):
have no problem believing that Meryl Streepis a wonderfully humble, amazing human being.
But that story, I was like, that seems to sum it up
pretty well, Like she was sojust okay, Like I'm like, I'll
be the goat. Yeah, I'mlike, I'm the goat. I love
pretty Oh my god, she's soprecious. I also I really loved how
(14:58):
unrealistic people getting acting jobs is.And I just love it how you know,
you give a two second speech, like audition speech, and then they're
like you're hired. It's like butnever not even a letter. Have you
been? Where have you been?It is so good. But then Meryl
Streep's reaction when she got the joball is so sweet and she was like
(15:18):
that he's precious, and I did, like, I feel like that's a
good part to point out the easteregg. I've decided this season I want
to try to find them in everyopening credit and in this one at the
end, after you know, theypan up during the day and we see
(15:39):
the what do they call the footlightsfrom a stage or on the roof,
so that's one. And then asthey're panning down in the dark in the
building, there's at the very centerthere's a silhouette of an older woman,
and in the past credits it's alwaysbeen dark, and this time it's lit
up. Is that I watched soclosely? Oh my god? So I'm
(16:03):
assuming that's for, you know,Meryl Streep's character. Possibly it kind of
looked like her illustration. But Ijust I was like, does she live
in the building? So what part? What part in the I want to
try to find it and screenshare it. What what part in the opening credits
was it? So I could findit. I don't know what the time
stamp is, but where it lightsup her window is kind of on the
(16:29):
tail end of the credits, rightbe as it's wrapping up and it's panning
down the building, and it kindof sink. I did see that.
I guess I didn't recognize that itwas on now. Well, I had
been. I had been rewatching seasontwo in the background, and I was
like, I think that's the onlyreason that. Okay, let me say
I realized here, Yeah, tellme there. Okay, So it's about
(17:02):
six minutes and fifty five seconds intothe episode. No, I've seen her
before. Oh yeah, she wasnot lit up it's the outline and she's
not lit up. You might beright. Oh yeah. I've watched the
credits for three season two episodes afterseeing this to see if she was lit
up, and she wasn't lit up, staying can we just kind of a
(17:25):
silhouette? Yes, you see hersilhouette, but now we can look in
and see the detail and it lookslike, you know, a vanity mirror,
And was right, I see that. And the only other difference was
Howard walking sevel In at the beginning, and the footlights from the stage or
on the roof, those aren't alwaysthere, so like the oh okay to
(17:48):
mimic the stage right right right beforewe move on to the next section.
I wanted to point out, didyou guys notice the mirroring that I thought
was so cool of Oliver when hecomes down to this stage left and he
looks up at Marylyn says, wherehave you been? It was exactly the
same place that that little young Merylwas when she was looking up at the
Yeah. I thought that was soso sweet. I was like, they
(18:11):
were so good at that storytelling showlike it's so subtle. I didn't do
a rewatch. I only watched onetime. But I was taking some notes
of the actual because this would bea monologue since she's only talking where she
was saying that what did she sayshe would kill without compulsion, like some
(18:33):
of the things like punction, thankyou, I would mind u. But
yeah, like just some of thethings she was saying, like she'ld do
anything to protect a child. SoI'm wondering if those are anything that's going
to come to light. Yep,that's a big part of what I have
to say when I when we talkabout who I think the murderer is.
So okay, So let's get here. So after the opening credits, we
were back in the present. Benis pronounced dead at the theater and Mabel
(18:59):
suspects maybe poise in Then we flashback four months to the first table read.
Charles Oliver and Mabel is going totag along with them, and we
get to the table read of DeathRattle, and we meet the producers.
We meet everybody, producers Donna andher son Clifford. We meet Ben and
his manager slash brother Dicky. Wemeet the actors kimber Ty, Bobo is
(19:19):
there, and Jonathan, but wedon't really get too much from them.
We have this documentarian, Tobert andKatie the stage manager, and of course
Howard. What did we think,Oh Howard, Oh Howard, He's ridiculous.
And getting to see and hear PaulRudd's little death squeak, well what
(19:40):
we thought was a death squeak?I mean he was it was. He
was pronounced dead, They pronounced him. I was just like, what is
happening? But I thought that wasreally funny considering that, you know,
the whole the name of the playas death rattle and instead of this you
know, kind of rasp be.I don't know if you've you know,
(20:02):
people who are familiar with what adeath rattle is. It's unmista No,
I'm not familiar, you know whenyou hear it. But the fact that
is a death rattle, a deathrattle is a thing? What is it?
So it's so confused. It's basically, there's a there's a type of
sound that people who have witnessed someonedie make. There's a death rattle.
(20:26):
It's a it's it's a distinctive soundof essentially, you know, air leaving
there throughout them breathing. It's likethe sound of someone's last breath basically,
and it's it's it's called a deathrattle, which is kind of why it's
interesting title where it's like this doublemeaning of the death rattle being like someone's
(20:48):
dying breath and then the rattle aswe see later being like shocked her mouth.
Uh. But yeah, so Ijust thought it was interesting that a
death rattle is something that people inhealthcare, people in law enforcement, you
know, first responders and people thathave been around, you know, death
a fairly significant amount they report, and it's it's, you know, kind
(21:12):
of this grave moment. And thento hear Paul Rudd's little like death squeak
in the middle of death rattle,I was like, this is this kind
of nice? This is nice. You're you're like teaching me that I've never
heard of this like as as aphrase, a saying before death rattle.
That's wild. Okay, before weget to the table read, let's talk
(21:33):
about getting getting there, Like theyget an elevator and everything. Did you
guys think anything of the moment whenMabel they were like, we haven't seen
you in so long. It seemedwhat did you think. I don't know,
it seems a spish or something that, Yeah, it's like, why
haven't they seen her, like wedo see that her apartment has been renovated,
(21:56):
so I'm sure she was somewhat busy. Oh, that's probably what she's
kind of hiding. She hasn't toldthem yet. That's probably what it is.
I was wondering why she was beingso cagy. That's all assumed was
at least part. That's probably why. But I don't know. I'm sure
there's other stuff. There's always alwayshas some mysterious. Yeah, we never
(22:22):
know. With Mabel. I didenjoy the spittake when yeah, when Marty
just like hold on, hold on, let me, I need to take
a step, wanted to do aspittake. And then when he was like
not precocking classic, I thought ofyou when he did that, I was
(22:44):
like Jade's co shase that moment. But it was just such a good Oliver
moment. Was such a good moment. Who wants to go to Broadway?
I was like, Okay, Imissed him. Yeah, it was great.
Oliver so excited to be back onbroad Way. And I wonder if
he got the opportunity to direct thisMurder Mystery show because of his recent you
(23:06):
know, success with his Murder Mysterypodcast. They never say like who called
him and gave him this gig?Why all of a sudden he's getting asked
to direct Broadway after so long notdirecting anything. But we're happy to see
it. Okay, so let's getto the table read. Would you guys
think units I just had was aboutHoward and his whistle? Yes? Okay,
let's talk about Howard for a second. I'm like, oh my god,
(23:30):
so the audition did he quickly stoppeda miss it, like, why
don't be my assistant? I'm like, really, well, that's one way
of getting him in that room.I love it great. Yeah. I
loved the way that they had togive us that exposition. So they just
had Howard go brief anecdote like noone asked for this information, but you're
gonna tell us yes. And thenanother cute moment with Howard was when when
(23:52):
they revealed the poster for Death Rattle, and Howard was like ready to pull
that cloth and he did it withlike a flourish, like he was on
he knew his his part to helpout Oliver. The physical comedy with Howard
is just always so sput on,so so happy, but everything is seen.
(24:14):
There was just so much to lookat and the jump Scare moment where
Cliff and Donna kissed on the lips. Oh, God, prepared for this?
That's going wait jump scare? Whatdo you mean jump scare? Like?
What was that? Ready? Yeah? I just was like no,
for like the cringiness of it thatI had. I had a moment I
was like, what the fuck ishappening? I was like, this is
(24:37):
There was just so much to takein with that table read and just the
whole concept of Oliver's play also mademe happy, Like these people lighthouse during
a hurricane and it was and thisthe only person in the room during the
death is this infant? And Iwas like is this I got, you
(25:02):
know, kind of bad seed vibesbut made less sense than chick maybe it's
yeah, this is interesting, andlike, of course it just sounds absolutely
absurd. So did you guys thinkthat this? I feel that we're getting
a lot of very over the topcharacters this season, starting off here with
(25:22):
Wesley Wesley Taylor as Cliff and LindaLinda Emond as Donna. He's gay so
I can kiss him like that.I just don't know what to make of
this, Like, I just don'the does he does Wesley Taylor does this
flip and I'm like, okay,it's his first you know, solo producing
(25:47):
credit with with his mother's help ofcourse, But I just I just don't
know what to make of this.Yeah, did you guys have any other
thoughts other than yeah, no,that's what I was going to say.
I was like, I don't know. I felt like we're going to like
just that commentary of like, youknow this well to do well, the
mother trying to push her her soninto like some type of position of power,
(26:11):
and but it was just gross. It was really really gross, but
it was very laughable. I thinkwe are Yeah, it was very bizarre,
but I think we have a lotof like we talked, we talked
about this when we're talking about theseason to recap that they really developed the
characters last season, made them morehuman. Although a lot of the side
characters are are quite over the top, very I was trying to pay attention
(26:37):
to the characters who just kind of, you know, slid under the radar
because we got so many just likeloud character moments and kind of in your
face moments. So Dicky Ben's brotherimmediately you know they're late and Ben blames
(26:57):
it on his brother, says hehad us next door, and I was
just like, oh, that's kindof interesting. And then the cookies,
which are just like this nice littlemoment of humor. But I was just
like, obviously he can't control himselfwhen he's around cookies. Mabel thinks he
was poisoned. He could have beenpoison and so I agree with that.
(27:18):
That's what I was just like, okay, But then I started this is
what I'm going to do the entireseason. I was like, but is
that too obvious? Like do theywant us to pick up on that?
They wanted us to pick up onit? For sure, that's true,
but but I okay, this isokay. And then so this is probably
a clue or it's a red herring, it's something, you know, it's
like, what's this thing? Yes, so we just don't know yet.
(27:41):
But yeah, something that I couldn'tget over with this this table read scene
is that, yeah, I knowthat the characters in this show are over
the top, you know, likeAmy Schumer sting like these weirdo people for
just the sake of being weird.I think that Amy Schumer is kind of
the only one so far to reallynail it. Also, of course the
Queen of all time Amy Ryan asJan just the perfect amount of weird,
(28:06):
just the perfect chef's kiss for thatperformance. But but I couldn't understand what
let's talk about bed Okay, Ijust have to can we talk about it?
I can't understand what Paul Rudd isdoing here. And I think it's
in the writing too, because whenhe eats a cookie, Yeah, for
him to just walk in who parted? That was cool? Though? How
every every murder mystery needs a victimand then art. Yeah, I mean,
(28:30):
but I didn't. I didn't findit that funny. But I didn't
find anything that Paul Rudd was doingwas was funny. It was did you
guys? It was very cringe andlike, but yes, I was just
going to say, and I don'tknow if we want to talk about episode
two at all, because it's justif we're just going to talk. I
felt like they he he gave reasonsfor a lot of that when he had
(28:55):
his conversation with Charles. There werea lot of good call back. Then
there are moments like when he eatsthe cookie and he goes, oh god,
that is one schmackery. I waslike, why are you using this
way? Though honestly I just sawit as well. I love the fact
that it's the opposite of what mostpeople seem to say Paul Rudd's character in
(29:19):
real life is, and he justwas so you know, one, it's
Broadway. I think this show hasa lot of hyperbolean exaggeration and so people
assume, you know, people intheater are definitely big personalities, and I
think the little absolute's just a smidge. They absolutely played up on that and
(29:41):
Paul Rudd's character, Like, Ithink part of it was to make him
so obnoxious and douche that everyone hasa motive to kill him. I think
that's why they succeeded, all right, because he was over the like he
literally went through and it kind ofparallels what happens, you know, at
(30:04):
the end and at the party, like he's introducing himself to everyone and does
something just like slightly insulting to eachof them, and I am the only
one who still seems smitten by himis Mabel. Yeah, Like the way
very deeply confused me until until it'sepisode two, right, but the finger
(30:26):
gun things when and she got alllike giggly and excited. I was like,
Mabel, no, like, whatare you well. Ashley Park's character
too, was immediately smitten when hecomes when he came in and just goes
right like you know, he comesin, who farted? And then just
goes right into hitting on Timber.I'm Coordinator two. I was like,
(30:49):
oh, vomit all right? Iwas like, and then you the fact
for you there's just so much packedinto that scene. And when he's talked
to Meryl Streep's character, what isher Loretta, and she's you know,
excited and spent, and she's like, you know, my friends can't believe
that I'm getting to work with theCobro. And I was like, did
(31:11):
she say Cobro? And then therealization that you know, he's like,
you know, I just play afriendly zoologist who morphed into a giant cobra
and helps the cops save the day. I was like, oh my gosh,
Yeah, that is oh my goshgold. And obviously the parallel with
(31:32):
his Marvel character of ant Man,the fact that he gets to be this
like, big bad cobra instead ofthis tiny little aunt man yeah, really
made me happy. But did yousee he had a cobra tattoo on his
fore so do she like it?Was? It was pretty perfect? But
what were you going to say?I was going to say, like,
(31:55):
like, the one person who kindof stuck out to me that we didn't
get enough information was was Tobert otherthan we know that it runs with Robert
m right. But yeah, soI kind of I kind of eyed on
him a little bit, even thoughI was looking Kara's boyfriend. Oh yeah,
he's so pretty. He's it's reallyis. But he's probably the only
(32:17):
one they really Even when he wasgoing through everybody, he didn't really give
too much other than that he wantedeverybody to sign the NDA's about it right,
Oh yeah, but that was thatwas a great line, just immediately
having everyone I got to sign NDA's. But I had that same thought.
I agree Erica, because they did, you know, just touch on him
(32:37):
kind of quickly. He didn't likeskated right, And he also wasn't up
and he's the cameraman well, andI was looking for him at the party
because I was just like, arethey he wanted to stay where they show
us later that he's like off ina corner filming. But at the same
time, if he was there tobe documenting Ben's Broadway debut and they thought
(32:59):
Ben was dead, then I couldsee why they maybe didn't follow up with
him at the party. But asthe cameraman, you know, frequently,
especially as you know documentarians, asa cameraman in that situation, he's supposed
to seamlessly blend into the background.People are supposed to forget he's there.
So as soon as they introduced thatas his profession, I was like,
(33:22):
Okay, so he's probably going toend up as a suspect at some point.
It would just him and Dicky,or he's going to be first major
part of helping them get evidence becausehe'll have some kind of camera evidence,
like something on film that's good.And I think, I just I don't
know, Mabel needs to turn herattention to him instead of being all spitten
(33:45):
with Ben, like yeah, yeahand there yeah our age appropriate. Yeah.
It was pretty bothersome watching Paul Ruddand the whole Paul run in Kimber
thing. I was like, no, please, no, goa gross,
it's so uncomfortable. I just yeah, no, I was going to say
(34:06):
the only other thing I was goingto mention when they kind of introduced the
whole thing which Charles is really needsto learn how to read the room.
He just has no clue. Idon't know if it was even more so
than the past two seasons, butI'm like, stop at Charles, stop
talking. Stop. But the factthat they just kind of you know again
(34:27):
allowed that expedition. Of the reasonwhy he's able to do this play was
because Brasos is on hiatus. Ithought that was really funny. Yeah,
because the producer is is what wasit up? Was sexual harassment charge?
Sexual harassment charges? Yeah, butwhen he said he got the elephant out
of the room and he was like, yes, I played Aristotle, Brazos
and Mabel. Mabel or Oliver's likesAristotle and Mabel's like I can't or no.
(34:53):
I think it was Oliver who saidI can't even like they're like they're
dying. They're dying Charles. It'sgot a lot of good, all of
them. But Charles really had somereally great quiet moments or what I thought
were kind of passed over moments. But I thought when he's you know,
sitting there hitting the glass and everybodykind of like stops and looks at him,
(35:15):
because obviously that's like a universal signalthat you want to give a speech.
And he goes what He's like,Oh no, I just like doing
this. I was like, thatjust seems like a complete Steve Martin moment
to me. I was like, that's not Charles that Steve. Yeah,
probably improv I could see. Icould see that was being improv yep.
Got just another thing on Ben thatthe fact that he's moving into Amy Shimmer's
(35:38):
place. I like, yeah, sash Slash Stings apartment, Yeah, thanks
to Oliver's tip. Yeah. Andabout about the bending, I just kind
of kind of say, like,I don't want to be a downer,
and I didn't want to say anythingbefore we started talking about season three,
but okay, I'm in the minorityhere, I know. But Paul Rudd
(35:58):
has just never done anything for me. He's just not the kind of films
he makes are not the kind offilms I usually gravitate toward. His kind
of humor doesn't do anything for meat all. Like, I never find
him funny. I kind of dislikehim in the way that I dislike Matthew
Broderick, which is funny because he'salso going to be on this show.
(36:20):
Because I didn't be on this show. I must submits that. Yeah,
if we forgot to talk about itin our trailer breakdown, I was so
I was so bombed. I forgotto mention that we only see him for
a hot, tiny second. Wehave no clue to how he's incorporated.
But Yeah, the thing that MatthewBroderick and Paul Rudd both do that bothers
me is that they have this onestick that they do and it's it's a
(36:40):
it's a I'm being funny. I'mwinking at myself and I'm laughing at myself
as I'm being funny, and likethey're they're commenting on their performance as they're
giving their performance. I don't know, it's hard to kind of articulate,
but this this one thing that theydo, and everyone has this this feeling
about Paul Rudd. It seems likehe's always doing something different. I don't
(37:01):
think so at all. I thinkthere have been a couple of performances like
Clueless, which was probably my favoriteperformance, because that's probably why I love
him so much. Yeah, yeah, because he's just I also, I
don't watch anything else that he's in. I think I just always think it's
just not my kind of humor.Yeah, I think there's one performance I
(37:23):
liked of his when he's doing hislike weirdo out there just bizarro character thing
was when he played Kunu in ForgettingSarah Marshall. That was really funny.
Yeah, I think that he foundhis yeah, at least right in the
pocket there with that one. Butlike for example, an anchor man,
he was my least favorite character.I never found him funny. Steve Carrell
(37:44):
can do that that really over thetop. The thing that he does as
like you know, Michael Scott onthe Office, where he's kind of he's
very obviously being obnoxious. He's solived in as a character, he's so
believable, and he's so invested inthe character. It never bothers me.
I'm watching a total douchebag, andI'm loving this douchebag. I'm sorry,
(38:06):
I'm daring every moment it's endearing withSteve Rill. Yeah, you kind of
like you. And I don't knowthat they're necessarily trying to do the same
thing with Ben Glenroy's character here, but all I know is that this ship
got old for me real fucking quick. As soon as he started every speech
he had for me felt like fiveminutes too long. I was like,
is he still talking? Why isit? I found myself kind of like
(38:29):
tuning out a little bit just becauseI couldn't. I wasn't liking it,
you know, and I'm not tryingto be it down or it's not enough
to make me dislike the show, but I just got to say, I
hope that we don't get and wegot so much of Ben these first two
episodes. I really hope that thisdoesn't continue because it's not it's not kind
of at least somewhat intentional, becauseobviously they were trying to make him appear
(38:51):
as this giant douchebag, and Ihave like, I don't feel super strongly
about Paul Redd. I guess oneway or an I've enjoyed some of his
stuff, like This is forty.Well that's also because I love Leslie Man.
But with him in that movie, the way he and Leslie Man kind
of play off each other, Ithink his obnoxiousness is toned down a little
(39:15):
bit, and that one it's moreof a realistic take, which makes me
think of you know, some peoplelike my mother, for example, will
not watch the Office because she hatesMichael Scott and does not find Steve Carrell
as Michael Scott to be endearing atall. But when I had her watch
Dan in real life, which isa much more toned down version of you
(39:40):
know what Steve Carrell typically does, then she fell in love with him.
And so with this character with PaulRudd, I immediately was like, holy
shit, what have they done tohim? Like I've never been this annoyed.
Yeah, I'm like, yeah,that's what I'm saying. I just
wonder if this hit for anybody, because this was a big old miss for
me. Thing about it was likethe who Farted? Like, it's just
(40:01):
that's your line, that's your towalk into a room and say an obnoxiously
funny line out of the gate, good idea, who who Farted? I
mean, you couldn't have choked thebetter. I feel like it's a writing
thing a lot, a lot morethan just as much as his performance.
I just don't think he's given verygood material. These jokes aren't funny.
I think it landed like I wasn'tlaughing at his who farted joke? I
(40:24):
was just like when I laughed,I was like, oh my god,
what a douchebag. Like I thoughtthey nailed it in terms of but but
do you see what I'm saying inthe way that if if Steve Carrell had
come into a room and said whofarted as Michael Scott, I mean,
just for me personally, it wouldhave been funny in some way. It's
like, I don't know how SteveCarrell does it, and I'm really having
(40:45):
a hard time articulating. But butit is a good example of another asshole
that I it's endlessly watchable. PaulRudd. I just wanted him to stop
talking like it was annoying me tothe point of like, I'm bummed that
this show is going this direction. You know. It was kind of he's
bumming me out beyond their intent ofmaking you dislike this guy. Yeah,
(41:06):
because I get that. I getthat that's what it's trying to make me
do. But it was exhausted. It worked too well. Yeah, kill
him, kill him, Yeah,to the point where when he came back
alive, I was just like no, I was so really upset. And
then finally when he was dead again, I was like, yes, I
did like the parallel moment of himpopping back in and saying yeah, I
(41:30):
was not. I was just like, what the hell, man, Like,
what is the matter with you?Dead? Now? But I can
I can see what you're saying, because if you don't find it at all,
like I don't know, not becauseI don't think we're supposed to find
him charming or endearing. But ifyou see it, no, it's an
(41:51):
overacting point for Paul Rudd, Likewhat he is doing with his performance is
not landing the way that it's supposedto. Yeah, I mean, I
understand you out of it. Thepoint of the character is to get us
to dislike him, but the pointof the show is to be an enjoyable,
good, funny show, and thisis not enjoyable, good or funny
to me. So yeah, it'slike I said, it's not it's not
enough to make me dislike the show, but it is enough to make me
(42:14):
go, please no more, Please, no more. Let's be done with
this Paul thing. I want listeners, because that's I think that's so interesting
because I didn't. I would reallylove to know how many people enjoyed this
performance because I could be this isI have a very specific kind of humor
that I'm into, Like I said, Steve Carell is not for everybody.
Sure, You're not the only personto react that way. And I mean
(42:35):
even bringing this up, I reallycouldn't wait until he was off as well.
Yeah, yeah, so, butI don't know if that was just
my disdain for those type of peopleor if it was maybe what you were
saying. But I can agree withyou on that, Jade, it was
yeah all I All I know isthat it's not this character type because I
love Michael Scott, but it isjust it's this performance that is. And
(42:57):
I think it's the writing, becauseyou can do him noxious well obviously,
like that's why. And it landsclearly with Steve Carrell because Steve Carrell,
but he's also supposed to be thisjust wonderful human being and I think that
comes through. But it lands reallywell with him and his characters for most
people. And yeah, listeners, let us know what you think. If
(43:22):
you enjoy this performance, please writein and tell us. Okay, so
let's move on to Loretta. Let'stalk about Loretta. At the table read,
Erica, what were you going tosay about Loretta? I just was
like, oh my god, theaccents that are coming out of Meryl Streets
now I'm like, why is shedoing? Yes, I just I could
not get over that. And thenwhen she did the French Canadian accent,
(43:44):
I'm like, oh, it's herprocess, yes, but I'm like,
but that makes sense to her.But I also related because even though I
don't, you know, I'm notprofessional actor, I have horrible audition iteas,
and even though it's a table read, is basically on audition again with
your with your peers, and I'mlike, pressure, that brilliant performance she
(44:05):
did for Oliver, And then whatthe hell is she doing now? Is
it because she really is nervous anddoesn't know what to do with herself or
is it a front? I waslike, what is going on here?
Okay, so let's let me playthis moment. This is my most marvelous
moment of the entire episode. WasMeryl Street at that table read. Oh
(44:25):
my goodness, alsa peers and astorm shelter door opens, a nanny emerges
from the shelter. Emerges storms notflow in the rocks. I'm sorry,
I'm sorry, I think I missedsome of those words. Oh, I
(44:49):
was trying a Scottish dialect because thenanny's so nanny refers to a childhood in
Amberdeen, right or not? No, no, no, no, It's
okay to try things. Let's justgo again. And Nanny emerges from the
shelter every time, Howard don't seesun nightfall rolling on the rocks. Oh
(45:15):
gosh that part two when she goesroaming on their rocks and she like and
she looks at them like like shegets into this French Canadian thing, Canadian
maple space and the Maritimes there. So she's smart though, Yeah, she's
(45:37):
a good actor. She is.She made some choices. I find the
nanny's voice, she's ta serious. How you talk this part just coping,
She's like, oh God, emergesfrom the shelter, storm's coming. Think
(46:00):
it's a night for roaming on therocks. Just how annoyed she is and
asked to do it in her ownvoice, She's like, oh God,
if you insist, Yeah, thatthat killed me. And when we saw
it in the trailer, I knewit was going to be good, but
then I could not have been preparedfor whenso especially the French Canadian storm's gumming
(46:22):
those zikets a night, but roamingon their rocks, It's like there were
so many good like awkward kind ofblank stare moments too with her character,
specifically, like when it's her lineand she doesn't realize and she's just looking
at everyone and they're all looking ather and she's just looking back and finally
was it. She was like,oh, it's like, hey, it's
(46:43):
it's your turn. And she's justlike oh, and yeah, it's back
to it like it. Oh,that was very enjoyable. They started with
a bang, that's for sure.Okay, what else do we What else
did we think of mal sheep?Did you guys notice in front of her
there were a bunch of little likeshe had all these little knickknacks on the
(47:04):
table in front of her there waslike a bottle bottles of essential oils and
by bye Buffalo. Yeah, yeah, bye bye Buffalo. Is that goes
bye bye Buffalo? Or because Iwas like, oh is it by bye?
That's what it looked like. Ithink it's by Ruffalo. I thought
I said bye bye Ruffalo, Andmaybe it does Buffalo Mark Ruffalo. If
anyone can tell me who what thisbug means? I looked it up and
(47:27):
there's no I couldn't figure it out. There's also a paper crane in front
of her. There's a ton ofother little things that I cant I tried
to like book, it looks likea planner or something. Yeah, there's
a song called Bye Bye Buffalo.Oh that's probably because we had music.
It is by Steve Gibbons band.M it's interesting Steve Gibbons band. Yeah,
(47:55):
all, okay, you guys keeptalking. I'm gonna I'm gonna find
the song and then play it.Keep keep talking about Merrow Streets character.
What about when she was feeling likeBen wants to fire her? And Oliver
insisted, oh, I go.Also, I know it was like I
(48:17):
so so the natural talent and herand yes he was we Erica who because
Kara, you weren't there when wedid our when we did our trailer breakdown,
Erica who gets who gets some creditover here? Something I was very
proud. I thought it was.It was one of the things that I
thought of very last minute, rightbefore we recorded our last trailer, you
(48:43):
know, break down, like seeingwhat we think is gonna the easter eggs
and what does the trailer mean? And like what are the things that we
can discern from it? They're thefact that we didn't see Oliver romantically connected
to anybody. I'm like thinking tomyself, if this is Oliver's season,
he's going to have a love interestand they're going out of their way to
hide this in the trailer, andI'm like, I bet my bottom dollar
(49:04):
Meryl Streep and Oliver And then Ithought to myself, Yeah, she's clearly
weird. We can we can youknow, take that from the trailer.
Oliver is weird. They're both theaterpeople. I'm like, totally, they're
going to be in a relationship. And I was right. I got so
excited when I realized I was right. Yeah, that that moment with Oliver
was so so sweet. It wasso here is the Bye Bye Buffalo song?
(49:40):
Okay, oh yeah, oh that'sthat's a jam right there, like
(50:30):
late and it's definitely say yeah, that was good. But I just I
googled I gotta get into some SteveGibbons right now, Like really, I've
never heard of him, because thisis exactly my kind of shit. Yeah,
this is the kind of shit thatLoretta is into. I just love
the layers of Loretta. I thinkthis is what it is. Because I
(50:51):
just googled Meryl Street only merged inthe building table read and that's still from
that scene. The mug definitely saysbye bye Buffalo and there musical notes around.
Yeah, yeah, okay, whichis that's what I saw. Damn
that was good. I want tolisten to more. We should made me
look at the lyrics, not rightnow by Buffalo. Yeah, I can
multitasks. Thanks sleuthings, sleuthings, sleuthing along all right, what is next?
(51:17):
Okay? So anything else we wantto say about that table read or
we want to move on. Idon't think we've got a party. I
don't think we got enough for thedifferent people there, Like, we really
didn't get much from Kimber other thanthat little interaction between Ben and Bobo just
seems ridiculous. Yeah, I thinkthe after really, isn't it? Just
(51:37):
like they might as well be sayingthese are the possible movements for most I
love the after party part. Ithought that was great. Yes, so
we're so okay. Next next weekgo back to the present. Oliver's throwing
his after party after Ben has beenpronounced dead, and we get to it
back to the building. The elevator'sbroken as it is want to do and
(51:58):
so they all go to the party. Then shows up, he's alive and
he's a changed man, question Mark, So yeah, what do we think
of this after party? Clifford wasjust mainly focused on the hashtag, So
it's kind of interesting, like, well, we know where Clifford and what
is his mom's name? Donna?Donna, Like you know, he said,
(52:20):
like he's on the social media. He's just worried about like all the
yeah, managing the glitter storm.Yeah, just like focus on what the
kind of publicity they're going to get, like hit. This is his first
solo producing job and they're basically floppingbecause they lost their leading person on opening
night. So I think I wasjust like thinking about like how everyone was
(52:42):
reacting to his death versus like theirsilliness and in ridiculousness, because it might
be a reason for motive. Itwas hard to I wanted to watch everyone,
especially in the backgrounds. But Iwill say I can't go without mentioning
wonderful Uma her snark in the elevator, which is like at least she had
(53:04):
the consideration to keep the body outof the building this time. Say it.
God, I love her. SheJackie Hoffman is a queen. She
we need her more in the show. More. Yes are always fantastic,
like they just use before before theygot to the party. One of my
(53:25):
favorite lines with Oliver was heap somemore suffering onto my already full plate.
There might be a little room nextto the despair. It's like, yes,
it's so dramatic. Well, andI thought they did a good job
setting up calling our attention to thehandkerchief gift opening night gift to everyone and
(53:49):
this what is her name? Katie, especially Katie pointing I think that everyone
got them that was involved with theplay. I was like, okay,
I like that's important. When shesaid that, I was like that,
But it was a perfectly natural, like slip that, well do you think
of that? We will see everybody'swill become part of evidence, looking at
(54:10):
everybody's personal note, because Charles said, fuck you want it you? Oh
yeah, I want to see it. Yeah. Yeah, we got a
personalized note from Ben. Yeah thatwas I enjoyed evidence evidence. Yeah yeah,
especially since Ben was clutching the handkerchief. You know it's gonna be that's
gonna come into play for sure. For sure. I'm just going to mention
(54:37):
also that they said that the GooseberryTheater, which is apparently our new art
Coonia, maybe not anymore. Isthe same theater where Loretta saw what was
it called? Oh yeah, that'sright, yep. And it was also
the it's a theater where splash flopped, and now this is a theater where
that crattle. So it's a goodold gooseberry. Yeah, the gooseberm giving
(54:59):
goose bumps from the goosepa. ButI like Oliver's line to Mabel. He's
like, my play left the stagewithout a pulse, and all I can
think about is my career. AndHe's just like, I don't know,
Mabel, narcissism should really be morefun the way weren't shut delivered that.
(55:19):
She's like, yep, yep,see it's the way. The reason I
love Oliver because it's kind of okayto be a narcissist as long as you
know you are one and you're veryconscious of that. And Oliver always is
you know, he's not it's endearingnarcissism, right, yeah, he's not
a real narcissist. He always, you know, he keeps himself in check.
He's always calling himself out. I'mlike, yes, i know I'm
being incredibly selfish, but I'm atheater person. It's what we do,
(55:43):
and it's it's untrue. It's likea business of selfishness. Yeah, and
Mabel is suggesting the podcast again. She clearly like Maybel really misses her guys,
and it's so sad to see Mabelleft out. I hope. I
don't like that that they're you know, not together as they usually. He
didn't like hire her to help withlike the set design or help all that,
(56:07):
like he hired Howard for God's sakes, to be as assistant theater is
not Mabel scene though she thinks thetable stick like she could have done something
like you know, the set design, like you said, maybe doing something
with the poster or something like that, something to bring her, bring her
part of it. But then again, we wouldn't have this little subplot going
on of her missing her old,her favorite, her old. So okay.
(56:32):
Then we get Charles Enjoy and Charlesis relieved that the show is canceled.
Wow, He's like, I don'twant to do this, so I
don't want to do it. Chosea week. I'm not into it.
The reality hit him, so theyyeah, and he Enjoy took Lucy home.
We didn't see Lucy at all inthese first two episodes, and I
(56:53):
hope they're not writing her out becauseI know that's what I like. Lucy.
Yeah, when they might be all, well, what did you make
of Loretta asking all of her tocheck that the back of her earring was
still on? Remember that she hadto get okay like out of her costume
(57:14):
quickly, And she said, Ijust had to get changed so fast.
That line, Really, why didyou have to get changed so fast?
Like? For all, like weknew he's dead, there's no rush to
get to the after party. AndHoward made the comment at the theater still
that Loretta was really upset, andI was just like, why was she
(57:36):
upset? And this is another thingwhere we can all just kind of pat
ourselves on the back for predicting thatthey were going to pretty much start off
with Meryl Streep's character being a suspect, because you know, they gave her
very clear motivation and thinking about Iwas just like, why in the world
(57:57):
is she asking him about the backof her earring other than to make that
comment about how quickly she had toget dressed, right, There was just
there's so many things. Another anotherclue that I thought maybe we'll turn into
something too. Is that Katie andHoward don't seem to like each other at
all? Oh yeah, And I'mlike what I wonder, wonder what that's
all about. What's a fun littleback and forth? I was like the
(58:19):
stage manager and the assist like, yes, this is interesting. I thought
it was funny when she was hesaid, I didn't think that stage managers
wiped their nose with anything other thanthe bottom of their palm. And she
was like, you have crumbs inyour beard and he just like just wats
his beard really fast. Right,Yeah, I did too. I'm Another
(58:40):
thing I noticed about Larette is shehad her hair down in braids. It
wasn't on her, which definitely, you know, called back to the beginning
of the episode with her. Iwas like, that's kind of nice,
but isn't important, Like I wonderif there was a little were sped to
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Herbraids seemed disheveled because she didn't have anything
(59:05):
like tying them at the they werejust like really loose brain and if she
had to get changed so quickly, right, like, I don't know,
there were but so many a littletheir breadcrumbing us like oh major and I
love it, but how much? How much did we love though? Seeing
Meryl and Marty singing together, itwas I'm just so into this romance,
(59:27):
like yes, please please, yay, I'm so yay. And then Ben
walks in and I was like,no, not yay, opposite of yay.
And not only does he walk in, he storms in saying who farted
in? History? Has so funny? I forgot to laugh. Last season
Charles fell for a murderer, andmaybe it's Oliver's turn, I know this
season, or Mabel yeah, orMabel man, I don't know. I
(59:53):
hope that they don't do another romancefor Mabel because we had that's true,
because we had some suspicion whether youknow it was fairly brief that her romantic
interest ish with tight eye guy couldhave you know, a murderer. But
also even it's her name, OhAlice? Was that Kara? Yeah?
(01:00:17):
Alice? Yeah? None of them, neither one of them were murderers.
Murderers. They were nope, suspectsat one point, but not the murderer
I love so okay, So whatdid we make of Ben? This very
very long speech that he gave waslike notes, Yeah, it was I
(01:00:39):
was typing down like everything. Hesaid, yeah, everyone but his brother
that that that. I laughed outloud when Paul Rudd came in and said,
you know I was dead dude forlike an hour. They said it
was like a record in their hospital, right Dicky, and Dicky was like
name they didn't say like that, and I was like, Dicky might be
(01:01:00):
fed up with his brother. Yepye. If I was Dicky, I'd
be fucking murderous as well. Thatwas a lovely start to his just you
know, outlining to each person likethis is why you have a motive to
kill me, this is why youhave him. So yeah, Kimber,
Kimber, I'm sorry I made everythingmessy between us. And then Ashley Park
(01:01:23):
did this thing where she like flinched. She seemed very afraid of Ben.
Did you see her the flinch?I thought she wasn't just uncomfortable. This
is how I took it. Yeah. There was one point though, where
Ben leaned in to do something andshe literally went like she like jumped out
of her skin. It was veryabrupt, and I was like, why
is she so afraid of him?And maybe it's to show us that she
(01:01:45):
was surprised that he's not dead actuallydead. The way that it read to
me was that he was that likeshe was afraid he was going to hit
her or something. That's the shereally jumped. That would be really creepy
dark dark Yeah for this show dark. Yeah. I don't know if I'm
maybe reading too much into it,but I really that moment stood out for
me a lot. It's hard tointo everything with a right stree and it's
(01:02:09):
the very beginning. Also, wesee Jonathan is Ben's understudy. Yeah,
yes, and Howard ohso loves Jonathan. I was just like, okay,
so obviously they're showing us that Jonathanhas motive to kill Ben. But then
Howard also has motive to kill Bento get Jonathan to be Billy up on
(01:02:34):
stage, and I was like, gosh, this is They're building so many,
so many layers. And when hecomplains to Donna about his dressing room
and he keeps calling cliff Boy sobad, it's like check check. And
then he still even after he apologizesfor all of his complaints, he's like,
but we could you know, westill do something about my dresser with
(01:02:58):
my unnecessarily shitty dressing him. Andthen with Bobo no more no nos from
Yeah, that was funny. Andwhat did you say to Tie, like,
oh about his trainer, a personaltrainer? Yeah, his like I
got so mad at you for wantingto use my trainer like hudges my secret
(01:03:19):
weapon. And then he makes thedig like no way you could afford him,
but you know, I guess Ican give you his number. And
Tie was the one that he mentionedthat he was like too handsome to be
there, so there was some jealousyright there. Off, Oh yeah,
that was that was some tension. But the Loretta apologizes. Oh god,
but the Loretta, the constant professional, the fellow snake, and then he
(01:03:40):
kisses at her. I mean Iwas that's what worries like, not worries
me that that's what's probably steering meaway from Loretta, just because they're like
so like too obvious, like itsaid it's her. I mean I know
she hates him, but yeah,oh yeah. The k Katie, the
stage manager. His comment to herwas basically like, I'm sorry I accused
(01:04:02):
you of stealing or in the mangoesmangos, yeah, because it's like and
then she said this, This crackedme up when she said, I know
I was coming from a place oflove and he goes it wasn't, but
thank you. I just every singleperson he talked to, it hit on
why they might be motivated to him, like with Donna and then Cliff,
(01:04:26):
Like just how swiftly they went throughand established all of this like dislike for
him and palpable tension in the room. I thought it was shot and written
brilliantly. They shoved so much inthirty Table. This episode was one of
(01:04:51):
the lamest ones. But I waslike, wow, but it was always
how they do it with the showexcellent. But then but then, so
when Ben gets a phone call andhe leaves the party, did we think
that was a clue or something?I was thinking as a clue. But
I'm also with Charles, so yeah, so he's don't worry about me.
(01:05:11):
Yeah, he wanted to be agift because he's like he remember he threatened
him right before he died. Yeah, And I was, yeah, Charles
start over, you know, whichwas okay, And I was wondering if
they were going to set up Charlesas a suspect. But then is that
the second episode I jumping ahead wherewe see don't get to the end.
(01:05:32):
It wasn't this episode where we seehim opening and he still has his handkerchief
at that point. Yeah, Iwas just like, so, I'm assuming
they're really telling us that Charles isnot like we have to watch that episode
one more time. You had justto look at the little but one thing
we go to the next part wasthat Dickie tells him he has to take
(01:05:54):
a call, like who is thecall? He says, he'll go somewhere
quieter, and the way he lookeddown and Dickie seemed to also be aware
that whoever this was on the phonewas an important phone call. So she's
like, who is on the otherend of that phone? Yeah? Yeah,
(01:06:15):
or yeah, is Dickie trying toget him in a certain musician?
We don't know? All right. So then at the end of this episode,
you know, Mabel and the guysget together for a late night pickle
diner moment and Mabel says she soldher aunt's place and she's moving out in
four weeks. And then they takethe broken elevator and Ben's really dead.
He falls from the ceiling. We'rehappy to see it. I was so
happy to see it. Finally,Yes, yes, he's dead, very
(01:06:41):
very dead dead, and I thinkthat's my most marvelous moment, at least
very specifically, after you know,Ben falls and cracks through the elevator all
dramatically, of course, who isstanding there watching Mabel and Oliver and Charles
emerge with this dead body behind him, but Uma and her delivery of you've
(01:07:04):
gotta be fucking kidding me to endit was a chef's kiss. I I
loved it. I just we needmore. Uma. My marvelous moment was
just right before that is when hesaid, you know, let me see
what was it like? He justhe sees a like galis he didn't die
(01:07:25):
in the building. I can't.I can't remember what it says said.
And then all of a sudden, the dripping and I and I know we
were talking about this like it itwas really scary because it was pretty like
very we tesque and very like okay, reminding me of Suspiria with the coming
you to breaking through the glass ceilingand the lambs of the lambs. It
(01:07:45):
was really cool. But he saysMabel, we couldn't have done the podcast
anyway because Ben didn't I end thebuilding. I was like, man,
bye, Ben, okay, yyeah, is that we're good at living
on the edge and we're in Allof our three characters have their signature colors.
Yeah yeah, those who will gowith you make that moment when you
(01:08:10):
finally arrived in your own big spotlight. That's a good sound. They're the
only ones who matter, you know. Maybe we couldn't have done the podcast
anyway because Ben didn't die in thebuilding. Oops. Lead. They must
(01:08:34):
have just gotten there after he fellonto it. Yeah wait, or that
that screech sound was him falling.Oh oh god, it's so gross.
Or Charles had or Charles had it. Oh my god, it's so scary.
(01:09:08):
You gotta be fucking kidding. You'reright in Emma. Yes, such
a good way to end the firstepisode. That was a killer premiere.
It really really it was like, wow, excellent. Yeah, okay,
