(01:23):

so far, guys, we havefive patrons. I didn't think anyone was
going to be a patrons, soI am, oh, yeah, that's
why I held off on doing aPatreon for so long. I was like,
no one's gonna I'll be so embarrassedwhen no one becomes a patron,
And like in two seconds, wehave five. Yes, So we are

(01:45):
so grateful to those wonderful, wonderfulladies. So shout out to my perfectly
marvelous crew, Gail Nestle, KimberlyLipton, Lorie Vezina, Liz Todd,
and Kathy Webber. Give it up, Give it up for the patrons,
Yes, tits up. We gottawe gotta come up with a name for

(02:05):
our patrons. Like I know, they can't be like marvel Ax, like
the Ovels. Marvels is too comic, Bookie, and they can't be Amazing
because that's just so close to justmissus, Maize. I think we'll have
to think of something. Yeah,we'll come up with the name Boreas.
I was just like, not murderers. That doesn't know, we don't want

(02:25):
you to be murderers. No,our murderous mamma, mamma, her brains
are working today, yes, fire, yeah, oh my gosh. So
with that, okay, let's getinto it. And I would say tits
up, but I guess no moretits up because of no more Mazel.

(02:47):
I don't know how do we dothis, guys? Fuck it? Tit's
up, tits up always, Well, we'll think of something. Yeah,
we'll think of something, but we'regonna get our shah right when is it
tits up? Not appropriate? We'llget our ships to other listeners and we'll
make it fun for you. It'sit's we're only having fun of her here.
So listeners, we just something justhappened, right, We just recorded

(03:08):
almost two hour interview episode with MatildaChataugas who Now I'm going to say her
name correctly, I said I wassaying just before, but that's what Google
told me. I did look itup. By the way, the pronunciation
I found was wrong. But anyway, Matilda just spoke with us for almost
two hours and it was an insanelyamazing interview. Guys like, it was

(03:30):
incredible. It was My cheeks werehurting from smiling. I felt like my
face was going to fall off.I was on cloud nine. We all
were, right, Yeah, andthen we realized that, you know,
like we sort of kind of lostthe audio recording for Matilda, Like it
just it's long story, long story, short, Um, the recording has

(03:55):
gone. So we're going to figureit out. We're gonna see what we
can do. But like, thethree of us right now are just a
little bit I don't even know whatthe word is for help me. That's
the most polite way I can thinkto say it. Yeah, yeah,
we're pretty much we're beyond like upsetor sad. It's just like we're a

(04:16):
whole nother level of like what thefuck right now? Because it was a
it was a magical interview, likeit was wonderful. If we weren't laughing,
we would be crying. Yeah. Therefore, yeah, yeah, So
anyway, on that joyous note,we have decided that we were just going
to push forward and we're gonna recordthis uh you know, trailer, hot

(04:41):
take video. We're just gonna recordit anyway. I'm sorry, I'm like,
I'm like, what our words rightnow? Okay? So all right,
guys, So before we get intoit, spoiler warning. We are
about to spoil obviously all of seasonone and two of only murders in the
building, So don't watch this unlessyou know, unless you're caught up with
season three. Now, I haven'twatched season two in a long time.

(05:02):
I freshly just watched season one,and I am just excited. I'm so
excited to get into season two becauseit's like sad how quickly I forget shows
after I watch Do you guys dois this just me? It's like I
forget immediately, right, I wasshocked at how much of season one I
didn't remember. So okay, asa quick recap, where we are at

(05:27):
the end of season two. Sowhen last we met our heroes? Right,
Poppy Sindicanning's assistant was revealed to beBecky Butler. She like escaped from
her life and faked her death. And then Poppy seduced Officer Creps to frame
Syndicanning for Bunny's murder because she wantsto get back it's Sinda for like stealing
all her good ideas and not givingher any credit. And so then but

(05:51):
then at the end, Hey,Poppy and Creps they get caught, they
get arrested, and Charles goes backto like starring in his Brasos reboot and
he asks out Joey, his adorablemakeup artist, you know, and Mabel
continues, I know, right,it was so cute. And Mabel continues
renovating her apartment with Alice, youknow, even though they're not a couple

(06:12):
anymore, her her aunt's apartment.Sorry, um, yeah, Alice is
still helping a renovate even though they'renot a couple. And then Oliver comes
clean to Will about not being hisbio dad, and Oliver gets to direct
on Broadway, and so then theyflashed forward a year, a happily murder
free year, as Mabel says, and Mabel, Lucy, and Joy are

(06:33):
all sitting together in the theater towatch the opening night of Oliver's show,
starring Charles and a guy named BlenBen Glen Roy. Oh my god,
what is it doing? Oh mygod. Okay, So, so they're
starring in the show and Ben isangry at Charles, right, and he

(06:56):
starts and he starts coughing, andhe's like, Oliver, get out of
my face. And Charles is theone you got to look out for.
And the two guys are on stagearguing and Charles mysteriously says, I know
what you did. And then Benstarts coughing and leg dies again. So
these are the final words of seasontwo. This is kind of like the
big cliffhanger, like where they leaveus. So I'll play that for you

(07:18):
guys right now. Good luck tonight. Thanks. Good luck is a curse
in the theater. I know thatPaul does not age. You don't think
I know that. I just didn'tmention it to be polite to you.

(07:41):
Piece of shit. Hey, wegot two and a half hours to get
through. If I can do it, you can too. I'm the pro,
all right. You don't have toworry about me. Be smart,
stay away from her. Why whatare you gonna do? Then? I

(08:05):
know what you did. Mm hmmm, so ominous, so ominous. I
just love here in the orchestra warmingup. Yeah, thank you. I

(08:28):
can't believe that, right. Whata year? Huh? Yeah? Well,
any year without a murder is agood one. A live blog,
okay, passing your seat bills andthank you, thank you, thank you,
thanking what turned me into a creatureof the night. Let me tell

(09:01):
you, Oh, Paul Rudd, there he goes acting. Mm hmm,

(09:22):
come on, man, you cando it. Let mean that like I
was not expecting that. I waslike, wait, what what? Andrea

(09:43):
Martin is my woman. I loveher. I'm so glad she's in this
show. I know what the fuck? Oh that was this the best part.
I love can. I just sayhow I love Paul Rudd for how
he can. He made that sofunny with that little those little legs,
yeh, noises. It was justthe perfect amount of funny, you know,

(10:07):
perfect balance. No. I wantedto hear Mabel say like, are
you fucking kidding me? I knowme too. I thought that that video
was going to go all the wayto the end. Yeah, because that
was pretty much my exact reaction atthe end. At the end of that
season, I was like, oh, this is gonna truly though, Yeah,
seriously, So okay, I'll letme get back to my agenda.

(10:31):
Oh there is no more agenda. It's just trailer reaction. That's all it
says. Do that, Jade.I just love Paul Red anytime he's supposed
to be a quote unquote bad guy, anytime he has attitude, because that's
so not him. Yeah. Yeah, so enjoyable to watch. And Steve

(10:52):
Martin like the good luck It's likethat's a curse in the theater like,
yeah, he might as well, and whispered like Macbeth in his ear something
like I'm just like, oh,this is so good. Oh that's a
good one. That's such a goodcall carrier. So right, yeah,

(11:13):
it makes I'm so excited to starttalking about this show, Like I know
of them are just solid gold interms of their acting performances. And oh
I'm gonna be good. Another showfilled with like the cream of the crop
of like legends and that kind oftheatrical flair. So every one of them,

(11:35):
every one of them. All right, let's get into this trailer business
and give it a watch. Herewe got ready face all right, season
three trailer, Let it begin reallyhappening again. Well, you know,

(12:01):
who are we without a homicide?I have the best shows on television.
He's back, so are you in? Yeah, with a surprise. You've
never saw a blackout the queen?Oh my god, it's me. That's
my normal reaction, isn't it?The building? Shall we begin sight on

(12:24):
Hulu? Okay, so tease ifanything? Am I missing? Am I
missing? A trailer though? Becausethat seems really really really short, And
that's that's a teaser. Yeah,that's the only thing that's out so far.
Yeah, that's the teaser from threemonths ago or so. That's all
we have right now. Yeah, that's truly all there is. Okay,

(12:46):
yep. I was thinking that Iwas seriously missing something that you guys were
going to pull it out and belike, no, they watch this,
there's this thing too. Um yeah, because it's like, what are you
waiting for? Like, we literallyare down to less than four weeks from
or no, a little over fourweeks away from the premiere of season three,
And I think Mazel did the samething though to us, didn't they

(13:07):
They like, wait, waited tilllike the last second to tell us they're
coming back. Yeah, so we'llgive you guys full length trailer. That's
true, Erica, they did.Mazel did do that. Remember every week
we were like stressing out, likewhy are they telling us? When is
it premiering? What the fuck?Well? I do love how I know
we'll get into reactions, but Ilove that just in that split second of

(13:30):
Paul Rudd on screen, you canimmediately tell what a douchebag his character is,
and I know it's gonna be somuch fun to watch him portray that.
Like just the scarf and the jeansand his whole the scarf. Ye,
I know that's sorry, because we'regonna we're gonna be given the year
before. Probably we're gonna be allon flashbacks. We're gonna get more Paul

(13:52):
Rudd. Yeah, and did weget did it seem like uh Meryl's character
was the director? Is that wesupposed to take or is she like a
producer? Oliver's the director because Iassumed he would be for some reason in

(14:13):
my head, I was like,Oh, so he's producing, she's directing.
Maybe that's not what it is,but I thought at the end of
season two, I thought that thatthey said he was directing. They probably
did. I have not rewatched seasontwo. Yeah, I haven't because I'm
focusing on season one right now todo our recap, and then I kind
of want to, like, Ikind of want to let myself be surprised

(14:33):
at things I've forgotten season two aswe prep for for that recap. That
will be fun and I'm really excitedfor our season one recap. But Okay,
so so far we know this seasonthough we know a couple of things.
Um, we have a couple ofreturn characters. Andrea Martin obviously will
be coming back as Joy the MakeupArtist, Got to love It More,

(14:56):
Andrew Martin and everything please please yes, Oh my gosh. And Ashley Park
is coming on the show, whichis interesting. She's playing an actor I
believe. Um, there's no NathanLane, sadly, but we do get
someone that, um, well, everyone's going to know him from Grey's Anatomy,

(15:18):
A little guy, Jesse Williams andKara. My next question is,
and are you in love with him? Let me go from the second I
saw him on a preview for Grey'sAnatomy, I was just like, who's
this? And he seems like anass type lovely person on top of it,

(15:39):
so I am very excited. Eventho I'm pretty excited to look at
him. He's also a fantastic actor. Yeah, I've never seen Grey's Anatomy,
so I don't know him. Iliked his character. Yeah, I
haven't watched him a long time, but I want to watch. He seems

(16:00):
you connect. He's a pretty boy. This whole video thing for our patrons.
They can see when I'm blushing now, So I don't know how I
feel about that. No, that'swhat they pay the big bucks for to
see Kara blush blush or watch herflush and see Darryl on my shoulder.

(16:22):
Yes, front road tickets from ourfront row seat to the Lizard Show.
Oh gosh, oh my gosh,I feel so crazy because of everything that
yea, oh it just happened. It's like my brain is what is anything?
You know? Who? There's goingto be another marvelous, marvelous missus
mazel Uh. Yeah, I wasabout to say another one, another one,

(16:44):
oh, because I was going tobring up the Michael Cyril Cretan of
it all, because he is comingon as a series regular. He's been
like officially announced to be in mayof the episodes. There's another one.
I just was looking forward at episodeone. Her name is al Quinn or
Alice and Gwinn maybe g u In n. And she's known for bob

(17:06):
Warbock Empire like Michael Zegez was onthat only Murders in the building and the
marvelous missus Maizel. Now I haveto go and see what she was in
that. She was She's bunny.I think she's one of the strippers or
dancers. Yeah, she's funny,That's what I'm like. She's no but

(17:26):
that's funny. But no, Ithink she was one of the She's quite
she's quite pretty. Yeah cool,I like that. I love how many
crossovers there are. Yes, Ijust I just discovered another one. I'll
look up her name as we're talking. Um, when someone else is talking,
I'll do it. There's Um.One of the women who played Shy's

(17:49):
backup dancer on season four of MarvelousMissus Maizel. She played Detective Williams's wife
the Oh yeah, yeah. Idid not notice that, and I got
so excited when I saw that too. I know. And yes, listeners,
we are actively trying to get interviewswith these people. We just need
to. We need to reach outto some of the higher ups, I

(18:11):
think, in order to do that. So we're trying to because interviews are
really fun for us. You know, when we don't lose recordings, that's
nice. That's really fun to notlose a recording. Anyway, I'm going
to stop talking about it. Sorry, Okay, So what else? Guys?
Who killed Ben Glenroy? Who killedwho is her? Like? Who
is her? Who is her? That Steve Martin's character is referring to.

(18:36):
Because I know it's going to takeall season for things to it is unravel
but I am already all in mI mean she's saying something because you know
they're gonna take They're gonna take uslike one complete way, and it's going
to go back forward, you know, diagonal, and then eventually we'll get
back to where it's supposed to be. But it's it's always a major journey,

(19:00):
obviously, Like the fact that MerylStreep is joining the cast. When
I first saw that, I thinkI squealed out loud and scared my animals
because it's just I'm so excited.One. I love Meryl streatment general,
but to the chemistry that she andSteve Martin in particular have together is fantastic.

(19:25):
I love when she does comedy.I love Death Becomes Her, she
devil, Like all those movies arejust like when even like I'm a sucker
for you know, some of theNancy Myers movies, they're like good comfort
films. So Steve Martin and MerylStreep and it's complicated. Yes, I
want to watch that again, sobad favorites, Like they are brilliant together

(19:49):
and they play off each other sowell, and I just I cannot wait
to see them on screen in acomedy setting. Again, Yeah, I
hope they have plenty of interaction andfrom a couple of like the behind the
scenes things that Selena Gomez has sharedon her social media, it really does
look like they have spent quite abit on set together, So I'm hoping

(20:15):
we see a lot of them.Do you predict if she's going to be
a big bad or I don't thinkshe will be. I think she'll be
a secret big bad or it'll bea red Herring harringa look what they did
the first the first season with becauseher her being like the actual big bad

(20:40):
would be a twist or I don'tknow, because it reminds me of what
lies beneath with Michelle Peiper and Harrisonboard where the last day I expected watching
that movie was for Harrison spoiler alert, I guess fucking like twenty year old
movie. Some people get mad,you like you know what happens. But

(21:02):
I was not expecting Harrison for tobe the bad guy. So if they
were able to pull off that kindof a surprise with her, even as
we'd well they put they pulled itoff in the last two seasons of this
show, I mean, yeah,I mean you could just what were you
what were you gonna say, Ericathough you were thinking you were saying that
they did the red Herring thing forsomeone like who like even referring to the

(21:25):
murderer, um, Steve Martin's uhgirlfriend, Oh, Amy Ryan, thank
you. Yeah, you know theykind of like pushed us through it,
and then they started going towards funnyand good chance and yeah, thank you.
But I'm like, they're they're reallygood at twisting and turning and getting
you like to think it's this personand that person, and you know,
and Tina Fay's character looked like stingvery briefly. Yeah, is that the

(21:48):
first season? Yeah? Yeah,I have to say I have to do
my rewatch. I'm sorry, Imean no, I just I just did
my rewatch so I could type upall the notes and send it to you
guys, and then we could alldo our rewatches with note taking sea listeners.
See how much goes into this. There's just like it's a process and
Jay's got work to do. Soyeah, I think that if it were

(22:10):
to be Meryl Streep, it wouldbe too obvious, and then they want
you to think it's too obvious. So then they want you to actually suspect
her, So then she's going tobe my prediction in the eleventh hour,
the big red herring, because everyone'sgoing to be like, no, it's
got to be her. I couldsee that. Yeah, that's what I
think is going to happen. ButI don't think it's going to be her.
I just have a feeling they're goingto go a different direction. I

(22:33):
know. I just I want toknow all the things, and I want
them to re lease a full trailerso we can. Yeah, I want
that more. I want that bad. I think that. Do you guys
have predictions about who the her isthat Steve Martin is yelling at about I
have, Well, yeah, whatdo you guys think? I mean if
it? Yeah, go ahead,Erica. Now, I mean I'm thinking
about Paul Rudd, and he's youngerish, I mean, I don't I

(23:00):
don't think he would have had anyconnection to Selena's character or even his daughter.
I don't know. I've heard peopleA lot of people think that that
it means Paul Rudden and sorry, his name is Ben. Ben and Mabel
are like having an affair, notan affair, but like they're having a

(23:22):
thing. I don't think that that'sthe direction they're going in. I would
be very surprised. I feel likewe had a lot of Mabel's like relationships
have been kind of Yeah, Iwould the last two seasons, Yeah yeah,
I would love to see Mabel notattached to someone romantically for a season
and have that not be her likestory. I want to see maybe something
like that for Oliver. I wouldn'tmind Oliver getting a little something more like

(23:45):
Steve Martin's X. What were theymarried or just together? No, they
were just I don't they were justtogether his ex girlfriends. Maybe Paul Redd
has been dating her or something likethat was one of the things that popped
into my head. I don't know. I just feel it has to be
somebody special to him. Yeah.Yeah, it would be surprised if they

(24:06):
made if they made them Paul Roddand Selena gome as an item, because
I think that they worked so hardon being so progressive that if they were
to go like an older a mucholder man. Because I know people say
Paul RhoD has an aged but Isee these as much. He has aged.
Yes, he's aged, well,I mean he takes care of himself,

(24:26):
he keeps it tight, I gottasay, but he's aged. Come
on, everyone's like he's so hedoes, he's eternally youthful. I'm like,
it's not that. Guys, looka little closer. Um, but
Paul, Paul Rod, you're lookinggreat. Good for you. And who
knows, Like, who knows?Maybe the her he's referring to could be

(24:48):
something they all suspect to be happening, and that is completely off base as
to what is actually going on,because they are really they have really bad
instincts, sometimes especially ours, veryso who knows. I guess we'll see.
Yeah, I think I have seena lot of people speculating about Paul
Redd's character Ben and Mabel, ButI just I don't know. I don't

(25:12):
see it at all happening. Um. Yeah, I think that the her
is going to be someone completely unrelatedto the plot that has that has come
into the fold somehow within the year, because we did jump a year ahead,
you know. So okay, Sowhat do we think Meryl Streep's role
is. She's an actor. It'spretty yeah, she's an actor in Oliver's

(25:33):
play. Anything more than that topredict, I don't know. Maybe I
wonder if she's as she moved intothe building, Like, is she playing
Meryl Streep, Like that's aye that. I would be curious if he somehow
landed Meryl Streep too, because realpeople come into this universe. Yeah,
and Arconia, like I could buyMeryl Streep living in the Arconia, Like,

(25:59):
I don't know. I would bean interesting way to which apartments are
available right now Sting's apartment Yeah, yeah, that's right. That was a
penthouse one. Yeah. Oh Jan, oh Jan, I really hopegot more
Jan. I love Jan so muchand I still totally I ship Jan and

(26:22):
Charles. Oh yeah, I stillship them. They should just be together.
I love Jan. I just wantAmy Ryan and everything all the time.
Yeah, Amy Ryan, I loveYes. Yeah. I was like
yelling at him when he was stillanswering her phone calls from prison. I

(26:44):
was like, man, this isnot good for you, no it no,
no, And it's so relatable.I'm like, damn, Charles,
I was you. Yeah, you'repicking up those phone calls and you like,
I shouldn't be doing this with thisfucking bitch. Yeah. We all
do things, you know. Peoplepeople sometimes got us, got us where

(27:07):
it hurts, okay, and uh, what about the fact that this murder
does not happen in the building,y'all, this is an outside the building
murder. Where what is happening? How do we feel I don't know.
We wonder if there's another murder inthe building. Wait, is he confirmed?
This? Is this a confirmed kill? At the end of season two.
I didn't even really realize even thoughwe literally just watched the trailer like

(27:29):
he did right. Every article Ihave seen, every interview I've heard,
has approached it as if he isdefinitely dead. So maybe this looks pretty
change the name to their podcast, like only murders out, evolving the people
that live in the building. Westill haven't heard who poisoned Whinny, and

(27:51):
this bothers me because it really feltlike it was going to pay off in
season two. Do we think thatthe fact that we don't know who poisoned
Whinny? And just like I don'teven think it was talked about all of
season two. I haven't watched seasontwo in a while, so I don't
quote me on that, but I'mpretty sure we don't know who. Who
the fuck killed Whinny? I mean, who Whinny is still alive? Who

(28:12):
poisoned Whitny. That's a good questionthat we'll table and pins so we can
look and get Yeah. Yeah, yeah, I was out for some clues.
Yeah yeah, I'm pretty sure thatthere's no Again, i haven't watched
season two in a while, butI'm pretty sure there's no definitive answer for
who poisoned Whitty. I'm gonna putthat on that sounds to list to keep
an eye out for now. Iknow what I'm doing the rest of today.

(28:34):
I'm gonna get some bourbon and I'mgoing to rewatch probably all of season
two. Yeah. It's a gooduplifting it's uplifting. It really is,
you know, what anything anything atthis point, I know, I really
did, though, have to justlike do this podcast. I was like,

(28:55):
guys, no, we still haveto record the podcast, and we'd
still have to record this season fordoing it. Why, Yeah, we're
just doing it, And I'm like, we're doing it and we're gonna talk.
Just mentioned the fact of what happened, you know, and it's helping
me though to not like if wejust had to end the Zoom meeting and
walk away, I would like, really be sure my balcony is looking real

(29:17):
friendly right about now, you know, like just about high enough to make
things really just I only have asecond floor and breath my ankle. The
Carrol just go over to grab arock and like whack her ankle. I
need to feel pain, It's true, though, like you need to feel

(29:37):
pain enough. I'm gonna I'm gonnahave to go deal with family in about
maybe ten minutes. So okay, that's torture. I know. I love
them. Erica is like extending thepodcast as long as you can. All
right, Well, we did geta couple of listener feedback emails which I

(29:57):
would love to read. Uh,okay the first one. Actually, let's
play the voicemail first. We gota voice message from our patron. We
need we need a name for ourpatron Patreon ladies group or gentleman. If
a gentleman would like to join, yes, if any if a cat would

(30:19):
like to join cat? Yes?Yes? Seven? All right, here
she goes, Hi, this isKimberly looked in. I just wanted to
leave a message for um Jade.I'm watching Dead to Us, Dead to

(30:41):
Me, and I'm going to listento the Dead Test Companion podcast for a
little bit before bed. But I'mwatching them dance and UM celebrate I guess
Steve's life. But I just wantedto, UM say I'd love your quot
est and I've enjoyed so much speakingwith you. UM, I think you're

(31:03):
incredible, and I hope you don'tthink I am crazy. I just not
really admire you, and UM itmakes me much happier to work while listening
to your voice. So UM,thanks for the end depth information about all
the shows. And um tit's uptis up Tit's up to you. Kimberly

(31:32):
Berly, Oh my goodness. SoKimberly and I've been messaging, messaging back
and forth and emailing and stuff. She's just becoming like an amazing new best
friend. I just love it.I love how the show connects people.
You know. I love our listeners. You guys are the best. Kimberly,
thank you. I'm so glad you'reenjoying Dead Too, Dead to Me
and dead to us. Anyone whohasn't watched Dead to Me got to watch

(31:55):
it. I fell asleep. Istarted watching it again the other night too,
because it's now, like, whatthe time then I've seen it,
so it's now my fall asleep show. It's a real nice to fall asleep.
It's Avery day background, Like, yeah, it's you know why because
the Dead to Me, even thoughDead to Me is like heavy as a
show, It's got some heavy likesubject matter. It's gonna make you feel
things. You know, it's gonnamake yourself hard, but it's gonna make

(32:16):
you feel levity. Yeah, no, it's great levity. But there's something
about that world that makes you wantto live in it. So the ender,
you know, like it's the ambianceof the show when you put it
on. I get what you meanwhen you say it's a good background show,
because it's part of it. Californiasetting is drastic, Sam from all
the dirt I'm surrounded by and destinedin West Texas, so that helps.

(32:38):
It's nice and esthetically pleasing, andI can pretend that I'm indeed Okay.
So we have some listener feedback emails. Kara, take that first one,
sure. Our first one is fromLiz Todd. She says, Liz,
here, I have a question forMatilda, but I but first, I
must talk about your new partnership withPatreon. I joined yeast as She said,

(33:04):
What I love most about you threeis the appreciation you have for us
listeners. I had to laugh whenyou explain the bargain basement fee of five
bucks a month and even told uslisteners to let you guys know, if
that's too much, fucking coffee ismore it's true then Anyway, as soon
as I send off this question forMatilda, I'm going into Facebook to join

(33:27):
the only Murders in the Building group. I'm really looking forward to it.
Yeah, thank you so much,Thank you liszt. See, it's like
I will save that Matilda question justin case we get to talk to her
again. Yeah, I was gonnasay that was that was um, yeah,
a great question and yeah we can'tgo there. Oh man, it's

(33:49):
like every time you think I thoughtI was like starting to forget about it
that It's like I saw in heremails little question we need a miracle,
We need a miracle, need ahair. I feel like this episode is
slightly unginned. It is anymore. It's because I'm unhinged, Like I feel

(34:10):
very a little faint. I amnot gonna lie like since Black of the
Leg Again, it's at the middleof the night, it's midday on Sunday.
But yeah, and still because Iknow none of us have had anything
to drink. No, nope,a lot a job jess ah anyway,
but yes, you know, youknow I'll make things better. A message

(34:35):
from Melanie Brown. Yeah. Yes, and there's a fun fact for me.
So guess what, guys. Melanieis a rocky horror sister of mine.
She did it in college. Yes, my daughter's bio dad was actually
our bread and she she's my sisterMagenta, just like me. She definitely

(34:57):
inherited a bit of her parents theatricality. But I need to know who Erica
plays. Well, that that's whoI play. I play Magenta. Apologize.
She already said it. I saidit again just for you or posted
pictures. And I have been intech Hell for a show I'm doing.
Oh no, she's a tech hell. Oh my god? Yeah, show
are you doing? Yea? Melanie? Did she tell us remember? Because
she said she might have. OhI can't remember if she told us.

(35:20):
Not, Sorry, Melanie. Ifeel like it's a play. I feel
like it wasn't an a play amusic. Oh yeah, it was a
play, and she just got backinto it. And I think I was
like living with her because I haven'tThe last show I did that was a
Rocky was Cabaret And the only reasonI did it was because I did it
before. And I'm like, Iknow this song. The song's backward and
forwards. I can learn choreography reallyquick. Yeah. So I'm like,

(35:43):
I just want to do another showsometime soon. But Melanie, that's awesome.
I want to see pictures and I'llshare you some of mine. Yes,
yeah, we need to show shareyour pictures on Instagram. Don't let
me forget to do that. I'llshare your picture with me with the original
Magenta with Patricia Quinn. Do youwant to read those ratings that we got
on Yeah? Yeah, can youguys pull those up? I'll go first.

(36:05):
So first review is from two mignettessays like deep Dives, this pod
is for you, and it isa five star rating, thank you very
much. And they said when Ifirst came across this pod and saw its
length, I was like, wait, and that hell could talk about?
And who possibly could listen to apod episode that lasts three times the length

(36:30):
of the actual TV's episode. Youare not the only one, I'll tell
you that we've been. But Iwas trying to say, well, put
me on that list. This podcastdelves deep into all the beautifully curated details,
visual and storytelling, and the eastereggs that the writers and creative teams

(36:52):
gave us hoping for a rewatch Podsstarting back at the very beginning fingers crossed,
thank you. And I will sayif everybody that loves Mesal, I
feel like you have to have anappreciation for the details. It's something that
the show does so freaking well, and we have to give them the attention

(37:13):
they deserve, right, I thinkso, I do think that review.
I always say to myself, likeI'm going to try to be short.
I'll try to be shorter, justfor nothing else, to make it easier
on myself to edit the damn thing, you know, like it's no picnic
over here, but I can't helpmyself. Like that just shows how much
I'm passionate about the shows that Ipodcast on, because I would love to

(37:37):
talk less, you guys, Iwould love to edit less. I hate
all things technology. I hate it. Not its technology person makes it very
hard to podcasts when you're not atechnology person. But I do it anyway
because that's so passionate I am.Damn it is you feeling me in my
coming through I did. If Idid not value this mic like it was

(38:01):
my fucking life, I would dropit like it's hot anyway. Okay,
so we have another five star reviewfrom Crizo also known as Kimmy, and
she wants to know about a rewatchdate discussion, so we definitely want to
do that. So any idea whenwe should start planning on rewatching? So

(38:22):
excited that we get to relive Mmmthrough your new eyes as well as other
perspectives, can't wait, So Iguess we'll have to talk about that.
Yeah, we got to talk aboutit more, but we also just need
to get started on only murders inthe building and then once we get into
a rhythm with that, then wecan go back to Mazel. But for
now, it's like weird. Okay, this is something I wanted to talk

(38:43):
about with tell the listeners and alsolike to discuss openly with you guys,
because I do think that at first, I was thinking we should do our
rewatch of Mazel and cover only murderslike simultaneously. But I really do like
to more or like immerse myself ina show, and I just feel like

(39:04):
podcasting about two comedies too much thatI'm so in love with like it could
just muddle a little bit. Yeah, And I don't want to start I
don't want to start saying things referencingthere are crossovers with the actors, like
right, could get you know, right, yeah. So I mean it's
not like the biggest deal in theworld, and like, I think that

(39:25):
it could be done toward the endof like Only Murders, but there are
ten episodes for Only Murders. SoI do kind of want to give myself
a good five episodes to really getin that world and like put Mazel like
and then it will make me comeback to Mazel and like refreshed, you
know, palate cleanser. Yeah.Yeah. And on top of that,
I want to miss I want tomiss the show a little bit before I

(39:46):
do a rewatch on it. Iwant to, you know, because as
a as a podcaster, you haveto really obsess and I really obsess about
these shows into podcasts. Well, but I am to listen to Kevin Pollock's
episodes beca that gives fresh insight thatyeah, well, I think will be
excellent to have going through a rewatchand being able to look at it through

(40:07):
a new lens. So and I'mwith you, like, I want to
be able to miss it a littlebit first, because I rewatched it almost
immediately after I finished it. Yeah, I think I need a little bit
of time before I can really diveback in and give it the attention that
it deserves, because once we do, it's going to be all in.

(40:30):
I feel like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, oh yeah. Just
going back and like prepping for theMatilda episode, I was looking at,
you know, snippets of episodes toget myself remembering Matilda moments, you know,
Zelda moments, and I yeah,I'm like, man, I could
easily sit here and just keep watchingthis shit because it is such a good
show addict, Like when you stopwatching Missus Mazel and you go watch something

(40:52):
else, like all of a sudden, when you just go from watching Mazel
Maazel Mazel to like other things, you're like, I'm always struck by Like,
man, this just isn't as goodas Missus Masel. It feels different.
It's a little culture shore like yeah, oh even actually, only Murders
in the Building was like the firstthing I've really watched since masl that I

(41:13):
felt like, Okay, now we'reback to that level. We're on.
This is where our standards are fortelevision viewing need to be. Yeah,
you know, so I'm excited tocover all the us in the building,
really excited. So yeah, listeners, we hear you about that. Rewatch.
We want to do it too,but we also want to make it
as good as it possibly can be. So give us a moment while we

(41:34):
eat and come along with us.Come along to Only Murders in the Building
Town That is one building. Iknow, I don't know if you know.
I know we've said it before,but hopefully marvelous. There's a reason
we want to cover both of theseshows because we think they're in a similar
vein in terms of the caliber ofthe actors, the directing, the costumes,

(41:55):
the esthetics. But genuinely, ifyou like missus Mazel, I do
not see how you will not likeOnly Murders in the Building. Yes,
there's a little bit more gore becauseit involves murder, but not a ton
like. It is not one ofthose shows that has gratuitous violence or anything

(42:15):
like that. It just it's soenjoyable and it has that kind of magical
theatrical element to it that Mazel does. So if you have not watched only
murders and you're here just for mazelcontent. I highly recommend it because I

(42:35):
think within the first two or threeepisodes of season one, you'll know you'll
be hooked or you'll know it's notfor you. And it's also it's it's
only a thirty minute show. AndI remember when I watched it, I
like binged like four episodes in arow. I was like, I can't
believe I've never was I was like, what, true, I didn't I
jumped on late. I watched itthe first season right right before the second

(42:58):
season started. I'm like, andnot believe I missed this first. That's
exactly how I did it too.Yeah, and that's the whole thing I
was thinking. I remember exactly whereI was. I was staying at my
parents house and I had just finishedthe last Agatha Christie like audiobook that i'd
never read before. I realized Ihad missed one, and I got so
excited. And then after that,I was like, well, I really
need something to fill the mystery, the mystery size hole in my being right

(43:22):
now, because I just I couldmystery all the time. Guys, like
you know, anyone who's listening tomy poke. It is my thing.
I never get tired of a mystery. I mean it's all I sit,
sit for me. That is thegenre that and like theater film genre,

(43:44):
theater on film, that genre thatone, and like true crime is something
well one. I'm not a truecrime person. See, I have been
obsessed since I think I was abouttwelve when my dad gave me the book
Helter Skelter to Lead, which Iwas already like I read anything I could

(44:05):
get my hands on, and Ihad already talked about wanting to be a
lawyer. And Helter Skelter, whoKnow is written by the prosecutor for the
Manson family murders, one of themain prosecutors, and at that point I
was like, this is what Iwant to do, Like I am all
in and for some reason, likethere are a lot of people who are

(44:27):
in criminal law that don't want anythingto do with it when they are not
working, and I am not thatway, Like I was burnt out.
I think for listeners that don't know, I was a prosecutor for about nine
years before going into the area oflaw that I am now, which is
family law and probate and true crimeis something that I still cannot get enough

(44:51):
of. And I think one it'simportant to advocate for respectful and conscious umption
of true crime material. But seeingthis show with Steve Martin and Martin Short
come out and it was about murder, I was like, I'm all in.

(45:12):
I don't even have to know anythingelse, Like this is everything.
I'm so fucking in. I loveI'm It's just it's so good. And
I know that my mom and mydad are planning on giving in a chance.
Yeah, I do get out.Yeah, assume they're literally coming home.
I literally was just texting with mymama. I said, and seriously,

(45:34):
though, you need to freaking watchonly Moriers in the building. I
am now our Hulu is now adfree because if I'm podcasting about something,
I can't have ads. So,patrons, you're really I need a You're
supporting Jade's free ads. You knowno ads? Really are? You're paying
for that Hulu baby, So Ihave better podcast with A not crazy,
because if I had to sit througha goddamn Hulu ad time, I wanted

(46:00):
to rewind because you rewind a lot, you gotta rewatch everything. And I
started to do it as I wasgoing through my season one rewatch, and
I'm like, I can't, Ican't. I can't do this with the
fucking ads, Hulu. This isa make it or break it. And
I'm like, now I remember whyI wanted to cancel you, and now
I remember why you suck because youalways have a shirt. Ads are awful,

(46:22):
but this is so awful. Notmore attention than it gets. And
I think now that you've got PaulRed coming on and Meryl Streep. Oh,
they got the Streep, they gotthe Streep action. Yeah, like
it's gonna I'm so excited they're makinga statement. Yeah, I'm giddy.
I feel better now, you know. I just got a little giddy too.

(46:45):
I did. I did. It'sgonna work out. We're gonna be
okay. We're all gonna be okay, guys, we're gonna figure shit out.
Yeah, I don't be good.It would be good. I'm not
worried. You look worried because I'mnot. All right. We got one
more email, Kara. We readthat woman. Sure, this is from

(47:06):
Liz, and she said, Imeant to tell you something that hit me
funny in your listener feedback Marathon episode. I like marathon episode was? What
episode is in a fucking marathon.Yeah, look at this. This was
supposed to be an hour long video. This is going to be like over
there, still under an hour rightnow, It's fine, everything's fine.

(47:29):
Yeah, this was supposed to belike a ten minute video. Oh how
the naive day that we have inour brains. Oh gosh, but she
said. One of the comments youread was from bikes are dangerous. Lol.
I wish I knew their backstory.I know you probably can't ask,
though. My accident was on fuckingMother's Day, Oh I don't. I

(47:50):
was on the Roanoke Greenway, whichis mostly along the river and really nice
with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I normally don't write it on weekends
because it's amateur hours, so onMother's Day it was extra busy with families,
dogs, wagons, coolers, andnow those fucking electric bike I like
you, Liz, I know,I said. Anyway, an adorable family

(48:12):
was walking side by side, takingup all of the wide concrete. I
had already slowed for them and yelledon your left. All runners and regular
walkers know what that means. True, this group of rookies were clueless.
They moved right and left. Obviouslydidn't know how attractable dog leash works and
left their toddler defend for himself Lordto avoid taking out the little guy.

(48:36):
And again, I'm now going quiteslow. I had to turn off the
greenway and due to my reduced speed, lost control of my bike. Oh
no, most of my injuries arebecause, excuse me, I was clipped
in and didn't release correctly. Noone in the family was injured, including
the toddler and dogs. So reallyI'm a hero. Yes you are.

(48:59):
List of them who you got hurtthem? AnyWho? If you hear from
bikes are dangerous again, please askif they happen to be on the Roanoke
Greenway on Mother's Day. Lol.Oh poor little Oh that's funny, said
I fucking love you three. Also, sorry this is so long. It
has to be long, Liz orelse Liz does work. We love you

(49:22):
too, Liz, he said, your new friend and Greenway hero, Liz.
Liz. All the all the applause, all the start us for you.
Liz. You fit right endless,You've fit right in wave. I
have no words. This is likeI just need like us to Liz.
I need you to write us emails, write us emails. About things that

(49:44):
happened to you in your life, because I'm sure that you could make even
the most mundane occurrence sound hilarious andlike epic. So I need you to
write down things that you do inyour day, send them to us,
and we will read them on apodcast and it'll be hilarious. Clear,
but now you have to sign offas Green my hero every time. So

(50:08):

So I'm curious. Yeah, I'mcurious. Geez. All right, so
real quick, guys, I gota shameless plug. Uh shall we Compare
THEE? My Peter Pan episode hasbeen released? And you know, I

(50:30):
am like an impatient one, youknow. I there's like a part on
Only Murders when the they were lookingat their first podcast episode and they were
like, how many listens do wehave? And they're like four? Is
that good? No? And I'mlike that's how I feel every time I
see how many downloads I have onshall we Compare thee? Like, no
one's listening to my podcast yet,I'm just a little like, well like,

(50:54):

is good. I will say Ilistened to the Psycho one and the Peter
Pan one, and I really enjoyedboth of them, like it made me
want to watch those Peter Pan moviesthat I have not seen. So you're
doing something right if you did notfeel the urge to watch Mary Martin after

(51:14):
how much of an urge did youfeel to watch Mary Martin after hearing me
talk about Mary Martin? Because Iam, I've rented it immediately. It
was ten o'clock at night and Ineeded to go to sleep. But actually,
but there's something I need to dofirst, and that is rent Mary
Martin's goddamn Peter Pan. Yep.And it was oh yeah, it was
fine. Yeah. I went intowork the next day and nobody wanted to

(51:36):
