folks, and welcome to the podcast. I'm Jade and I'm America and this
is perfectly marvelous and we are apodcast dedicated to the hit Hulu show Only
Murders in the Building Baby, Andtoday we're going to react to the full
season three trailer. We already havea mini trailer reaction, which was quite

lengthy. You know, before wedid our season one and two recap episodes.
Go check him out, definitely checkhim out, get geared, get
in gear, you know, forseason three. So yeah, we talked
a lot about our predictions. ButI think doing our recaps has given me.
It's given me some thoughts, it'sgiven me some theories. So when

I saw the full length trailer,I got ideas and I'm like, oh,
things could go this way or thatway. I haven't been listening to
too many theories, have you,No? I haven't. I think just
doing the recaps kind of like helpme, kind of go Okay, we're
going this way, We're going thisway, and it's making me think about,
like what the next direction is.And you know what I've you know

what I picked up on a lot. We talked about it in our recap
is the patterns that these writers have, And now I can like season two
was so easy for me to predictbecause I could see the patterns. I
could see like, oh no,it can't be THEO. For example,
I thought maybe it was it wasTHEO for for a while and then I
realized, oh no, because hewas too much a part of the previous

season. When I really tried toplay it out in my mind, I'm
like, the way that this showis, They're not going to make an
old character that a whole lot ofdevelopment and play going on in season one.
They're not going to make him themurderer. They're gonna make something fresh,
something new. They're going to diveinto a world we haven't seen yet.
So even though THEO was a bigcontender for the you know, he
fit the body type, the build. He was one of the people that

we all thought was on the listfor the body type reason. Who's the
guy in the passageways, the glitterguy, you know, and like that,
well glitter guy was Creps, butyou know what I mean, the
guy they had to be of acertain body type, and I think it
was Nina's husband, you know,the yeah, pregnant lady's husband. Yeah.

People were saying, he's the onlyother person besides THEO who fits the
body type, and no one wassuspecting Poppy because they were trying. They
were doing so much to make thefigure look masculine, which was another reason
that I knew it was Poppy becauseI'm like, they're going out of their
way to disguise body and face.It's definitely not a man. It's a
woman. That's going to be thebig oh shift. You know, I

could see it coming a mile away. So yeah, it's like the patterns
of the show getting more predictable.I think it's going to be harder for
them to keep it interesting mystery wise. Yeah, for season three. Yeah,
I think it's hard for me tomake like person. I think one.
You know so much about mysteries,yeah that I think that just by

the trailers and just what has beenfed to us, I'm kind of like,
I have no idea which direction thiscould go because we still don't know
all the new characters that have comethrough, Like you know who are going
to be on the cast this timearound, so and also the whole idea.
You know, we talked about thisa little bit, that we're going
to be in a completely different setting. It's going to be in a theater.

And are we going to get likeaccess to that full year and then
get to the finale will be whenBen dies? Or are we going to
start from when Ben dies and goahead and then get little pieces in flashback?
So I guess we have to seewhat happens. Yeah, yeah,
yeah, Okay, I'm excited totalk about our predictions and everything. So

let's watch the trailer. It soundsgood. It's opening night and a big
star drops dead on stage. Well, you know, who are we without
a homicide? Yes, some warmin this room. My show is hanging

You always know just what to say, Okay, So I'm curious to hear
what your thoughts on season three arebecause when we did our first little mini
trailer breakdown, you hadn't watched seasonsone and two, so you didn't have

a lot of predictions. You justkept thinking, I need to revisit the
show and then I'll know better whatI'm going to what I think about season
three? So yeah, what areyou thinking? And I would suggest anybody
who hasn't done a rewatch really doit because I forgot so much, Like
I remember like the finales and that'sabout it. The rewatch will fly by
to The show is so quick,it is, it really is. It's
too quick. I guess, like, I feel like this might be very

like Season one was very hyper focusedon Charles and very hyper focus more on
well no so season one, Yes, season one was Mabel. Season two
is Charles, and um, yeah, it's all of our season. It's
his turn. Yeah, I amso here for that, you know too,
And I'm like, and this issupposed to be his comeback, and

so I'm like, I'm worried abouthim because a lot of bad things have
happened to him anyway along the way, and I'm like, oh, come
on now, um, I startedthinking about like when when Ben dies,
It's like, it was really gruesomewhen you saw me. I like all
his blood coming up, I thought, jan yeah, because he was probably

poisoned, and you know, I'mlike, is it a copycat killer?
I don't know. And then asyou know, thinking about like what was
said before he was on stage age, So yeah, I'm really it's hard
to really predict because we don't knowthe other the new h characters yet.

We don't know the people that aregoing to be in this new setting,
right, so we do know.So we do know that Meryl Streep is
in it. She apparently sings asong. I am very excited for this.
I'm excited. She's got a beautifulvoice. Oh yeah, it's fifteen.
I think what Mama Mea had itsfifteenth anniversary recently. Can I just
say, though, there is athing that exists. It's called Alice at

the Palace. Yeallow, if you'rea fan of Meryl Streep and you're a
fan of weird ass nineteen seventies theatricalfilmmaking that is very trippy and psychedelic and
just so fucking weird, I can'texpress to you how weird this shit is.
Okay, I truly can't express it. Just watch it. Meryl Streep

about in her twenties. I thinkmid twenties, maybe maybe in her thirties.
Yeah, she's been met in earlythirties. Um, Alice at the

It's just the weirdest. But MerylStreep sings. She acts like Alice in
Wonderland, only an adult Alison Wonderland. It's just it's so bizarre. Please

talented. Yeah, I love seventiesanything. I think, um, my
favorite moment of it the entire likewhen they release it was the the the
little clips of of the trio doinglike all that Jazz from I mean that

clip from Yeats from All that Jazz. I mean, I love that movie.
I anne Ryan King was a goddessFosse I bow to the Oh.
Yeah, you know, I cannotwait to see what that is because I
need it. Not a lot ofpeople Erica are like you know, people

I'm here for it. This isthis might be my season because it's
on the stage. It's this isone hundred percent going to be my season.
It's Oliver's season. Yeah, there'sso little about it, so very
few things about me are not Oliverall day. I just I don't.

I feel like Kimber's going to bea red herring. I don't know,
But then again, who knows becausethey keep on like kind of like focusing
on her and even on Meryl andwhat is well, okay, so what
do we think about Meryl Streep?I have I have an idea for Meryl
Streep. She's an actor in Oliver'splay. So do you have any ideas,
any any thoughts about how they're goingto use her. I've heard people

say that maybe she's Mabel's onto them, like good idea, but I don't
think so I like that, Butno, I don't. But actually I
would like to know who her onis. We we still have no idea
or is she going to be likeum, yeah, oh god? What
let some of these characters like theymentioned them, but they never come oh
right, right, Yeah, thatlike that famous the famous trope of UM.

Yeah, it's like faceless. Oh, it's like the teacher in UM
in Charlie Brown. It's just like, yeah, they exist. But you
know, Mabel has it not Mabelhas a not backstory, backstory, vague
backstorye ter thing. Um. Yeah. So okay, I think run here.

My take on this, Yeah,Meryl Streep is so this is Oliver's
season, right guaranteed, Oliver's goingto have a love interest for the first
time. We've never seen Oliver romanticallyconnected to anybody. We've just seen a
lot of stuff with his his kids, his family. Um. But he's
going to get a girlfriend. AndI think it is Meryl Streep. And
the reason I think this is becauseshe clearly sucks, right, Like he

says, oh, what does PaulRudd say? She's like stinky Pooh or
something, Stinka Rooney. Yeah,he he doesn't think she's a good actor.
And she's dropping her line, youknow, and she's like remember when
she they're doing the table read andshe's like, oh is me? Oh,
it's me, isn't it? Likeyeah, she's a bad actor,
but she got cast in this Broadwayshow because Oliver's in love with her.

I think that's my I think I'mright, I think, and I'm very
proud of this. I'm also veryproud of the fact that I have stayed
out of Reddit. I have stayedout of any spoilers. I don't want.
I don't want to be spoiled onwell, not yet. I'm excited
to dive into the reddit as soonas we can see. Um, well,
we're getting screeners, but we're gonnawatch in real time. We're gonna
watch the first two episodes, andthen I'm excited to go check what people

are saying, because the only thingthat I've heard is secondhand. You know
that girl who does Beyond the Trailer, Grace, what's her name? She
does reviews a bunch of stuff.Apparently she put a non spoiler review after
she had watched the screeners. Shebinged them all and then she did a

little non spoiler recap and she saidthat the show season three was her least
favorite. She did not like it. And my friend told me this.
They're like, so that's what Iheard about season three, that it's like
the worst season and people are disappointedin it. Or one person you know
who has a YouTube channel, SoI am resisting watching that video until later.

But yeah, I think that I'mgoing to disagree with the majority on
this one. If it's a lotof Oliver and Meryl Streep and if there
are a couple, yeah, Ithink I'm gonna like it. I like
it. I'm excited. Apparently.The only the only like non spoiler spoiler
I have is that they there's goingto be like fighting amongst our trio,

which I think is pretty evident inthe trailer anyway, like just by Bing's
not like they're really pushing it,but I think it's you could you could
glean that if you really look intoit, the way that they look at
each other sometimes I'm not with theNarls being on stage and Oliver being the
director, there's going to be alot of a lot of feels in there.
They're gonna, yeah, they're they'regonna lose the sweetness and the silliness

that they have just doing a podcasttogether. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
And so so apparently Mabel is datingJesse Williams. We see them at dinner
together. I don't know, didyou think that that meant they were dating?
Yeah? But they could I know, I didn't either. I think
that they're trying to push us tothink that, but they're not. I
also think that they're trying to pushus to think that Mabel is going to

get married, And ever since Isaw her in that wedding dress, I
never thought. I don't think it'san actual wedding. I think it's a
costume of sorts or something, youknow, or it's a it's a sequence,
because that that whole all that jazzinglooks like like a dream sequence.
Yeah, another one. It couldbe just like some type of fantasy.
Yeah, well, you know,I think that the I don't know if

it's like fantasy. I think thatit's they're in those costumes for another reason
than just a wedding though, youknow what I mean, Like, yeah,
could be um, I think it'sa father of the bride. Also,
yeah, it totally is. Yeahyeah yeah, but yeah, I
just don't see at all Mabel marryinganybody or saying yes to a proposal this
quickly. Kind of hope, notnot unless they Yeah, yeah, not

unless they did a really big timejump. We've we've jumped a year.
But yeah, I don't think that. I don't know if we're going to
jump anymore years. Um, yeah, I don't know. A lot can
happen any year, though maybe maybeMabel has I don't know. I just
really don't think it's an actual weddingdress. Um, I agree. What
do you think about Charles and AndreaMartin anymore? On that? We started
to talk about it a little bitwith our season two recap tile, but

I think they're They're cute, butwe still haven't seen enough interaction between them
to see how they're going to beas a couple. Like we only seen
like the two what was it twodifferent scenes with her as his makeup artists
and her asking amount on the dateor yeah, oh that was something I
forgot to talk about, like helost his words and oh yeah, I

know reminded me of the jerk.Yeah, yeah, I'm I'm excited to
see more Andrea Martin. Yeah.Always, and she's and like I said,
she's weird. Charles is a type. He likes them weird, you
girls. Yeah, I hope thatwe see more of Jane Lynch and Amy
Ryan. I hope they're in arelationship. I hope Amy, you know,

Jan gets out of jail and andSaz is gonna rehabilitate her. Yeah,
that'd be great. I think thatwould be a beautiful little added storyline.
What do you think about Paul Ruddand Ashley Park. I'm not excited
about Ashley Park just because she justher acting has never done anything for me.
I think it's a little bit ofa cash grab, you know what

I mean, like a yeah,I like, Oh, she's really hot
right now, let's put her inthe show. I don't know, yeah,
I don't know. I'm indifferent withher. I love Paul Rudd,
so I think Ashley Park is avery talented singer though, and if and
if she gets a song, thenI'm down for that. She sings on
Emily in Paris, and that wasthe only good part of Emily in Paris
was her incredible musical numbers. Ithink that I'm hoping that it doesn't get

to uh. I don't want tobe negative because I think I'm just tired,
but I think I don't want toI don't want to show to Jump
the Shark, like to Jump theShark where they have the shark many big
people in it. I know theyuse them well, like you know,
like Nathan Lane was used brilliant brilliantly. Yes, um, like I think

Jane Lynch wonderful, like she wasn'tin it too much. Every time she
was in it, it was soshort and hilarious, like yeah, um,
I just don't want to get likeI hope. I love Meryl.
I love her, and like lookat Charlte McLean, I mean, like,
you know, you give this iconand she was only in two episodes.
It was just enough and so andwell they did much. They well

integrated people into the pla unlike unlikethe Marv thing, which is weird because
Marv should have been integrated into thestory more. All of a sudden,
it was like and Marv and maybehe's the murder And I'm like, this
is out of nowhere that the toneis off, like it's a sour note,
you know. I feel like,honestly, if I'm going to be
real here, the only worry Ihave is that Ashley, Ashley Park and

Paul Rudd their energy is so differentfrom maybe not so much with Ashley Park,
but Paul Rudd's got this very specificenergy that is not only murdering the
building. His vibe seems and againhe's like the dead guy, so he's
probably not going to be like ahuge part of the unless they do on
a complete flashback. I it's sohard to tell by that trailer. But

other than like Ben seems to belike a real douchebag and um, and
you know it he or it couldjust be the way he is. And
again, we don't know who heris. We don't know who the fuck
bag is. Um. I thinkthat what was nice about the trailer is
that I don't think they gave anythingaway. It was extra vague and a

lot of shows, the trailers havelike all the best things in it and
you go you're like, oh,yeah, I remember that, and then
there was nothing else. It's justfiller. So I really I'm really excited
to see what they have to bring. It's really hard to tell, well,
and this trailer is very it's amystery trailer, so it's very sneaky
in the way that they're misleading youthe whole time. You can tell because

the only like against spoiler non spoilerI have is that there's um turmoil and
arguments between the trio. More thanyou know they're going to have like a
band breakup, get back together theykind of do every season, but like
it's bigger this season. None ofthat is shown really explicitly in the trailer.
It's all like reading between the lines. So I feel like they're misleading
us a lot. I feel likeeverything that they're leading us to think,

Oh, these two people are together, they're dating, Like, I feel
like it's all going to be ableto to see what the trail looks like
after we watch this season, liketo see if there was something like going
it's right there. Yeah, Iknow we're just not picking it up well
because there's no romantic interaction between MerylStreep and Martin Short too. That's why
I think they're going to be together. I think it's going to throw every

what what ipe. So I'm excited. I hope so. But yeah,
I just hope that love for allof our I know Oliver needs love.
She knows how to make dip yesright and not dry pizza rolls. And
hopefully missus Gambolini won't get too muchin the way because that is Oliver's pet.

get it. I had a parrotfor a long time when I was growing

having a parrot is like it's adeep attachment to a parrot is like I

if there's anyone who would get downwith having a parrot as a pet,
it's Oliver and he and Mama Geego teach Mama Gee how to act?

arguments between the trio. More thanyou know they're going to have like a
band breakup, get back together theykind of do every season, but like
it's bigger this season. None ofthat is shown really explicitly in the trailer.
It's all like reading between the lines. So I feel like they're misleading
us a lot. I feel likeeverything that they're leading us to think,
