Opera goliardica, satirica e tragicomica, ambientata nella Roma papalina del 1500, che riporta nel linguaggio "originale" dell'epoca, le memorie di Phanus, prete eretico, arguto e rivoluzionario, condannato dall'Inquisizione. Attraverso i racconti di Phanus emergono aspetti inediti, legati ad alcune vicende storiche abilmente manipolate, dalla morte misteriosa di Leone X, all'esecuzione di Giordano Bruno.
Una testimonianza esilarante che riscatta e rivela il valore della libera ricerca filosofica, alquanto scomoda per le rigide istituzioni dogmatiche di tutti i tempi.
Dal “Diario di Phanus”, frutto della creatività e della ricerca di Stefano Mazzilli, si intuisce e si preannuncia l'inizio di una saga spassosa che non finirà mai di stupire per le sorprendenti rivelazioni e per gli spunti che animeranno sempre nuove ed imprevedibili rivoluzioni.
