We worked really hard on it.

We literally sat here with my son and musical improved
for like twenty five thirty.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
We've had a pretty delicious outtake.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Real if you can, oh yeah, So after the if
you wait around after the like closing music of the episode,
you will get a little outtake real that I edited together. Well,
Sweet Tree, Little sweet Tree.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Hey, everybody, how are you? We missed you so much.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
We missed you so much. I know, for you guys,
it's been pretty consistently like bi weekly going.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
For us, it's been months.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
I know, it's forever.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
It's been a long time.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
It's been a long long time.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
We missed you a lot, and we.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Missed each other a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Oh, we missed each other the most.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
We if you couldn't till we recorded all this. I
think we talked about it. We recorded all the episodes
in a big Ohio chunk, and then back in the
Morgan Graduate before we left.

Speaker 5 (01:27):
Yep. So it's been the entire summer for us. We're
reciting again August September.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
We're currently in our New York City apartment.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Yeah, we live in New York though.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Live in New York City.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Isn't that fun?

Speaker 1 (01:36):
It's insane.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
We're out here chasing the dream.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
We're out here, absolutely so. I bet the We're gonna
have a lot to talk about in the banter at
the top of every episode.

Speaker 5 (01:44):
Yeah, like everything changed. Yeah, but this is season three,
the season three. We'll give you guys a moment of
pause to guess how we're going to be alphabetically going
through it.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Oh, yeah, explain it.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Anyone want to make a guess?

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Wait, give them some time.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Okay you no, No, that was wrong?

Speaker 1 (02:04):
That was wrong. Hey, speaking of soundboards that I always overuse.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
It's very excited that we're recording again.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
I hope. I bet she'll like this season.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
I think she will.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Have you told her yet about the season?

Speaker 3 (02:18):
I don't remember.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
The only person I was Liz I don't have anyone else.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Actually, well, let's reveal it.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Okay, do you want it to say the title?

Speaker 6 (02:25):
Yeah, okay, this is season three, the fifty to fifty
United Place.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
We're going to be going through the states, fifty states.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Alphabetically, of course, alphabetically.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
We will remember the song Yeah you heard in the
intro you.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Kinta heard it? Alaska eras Arkansas.

Speaker 5 (02:43):
Yeah, So that's what we're doing. If you have been
here for a while, thank you. If you're new here, welcome,
but welcome. Season one we went by play title alphabetically,
season two by playwright alphabetically, so we're switching it up.
We're doing a geography thing, and when we say that
means a lot of things. So the first episode we're
going to alternate back and forth, justin I'll take Alabama,

(03:05):
I'll take Alaska.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
We've gone through all the states. We kind of like
picked and choose a couple that we wanted. But we're
going back and forth pretty well.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
And our goal with this is to, you know, at
the end of all of our episodes, for I think
both first and second season, we're like, go see plays,
go do this, go do that, right, this kind of
call to action.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
And honestly, it felt like we were because we were
so used to living in Minneapolis and Chicago. We have
theater at our doorstep all the time. It felt so
weird being in West Virginia where we were three hours away,
but so many people in the world aren't. Even so
many people in the US are like even further you're farther,
or they don't have the accessibility of driving three.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
Where they're in a city, and so the only like us,
they only go and see shows in the city maybe
or when they're traveling or whatever. So it's our goal
to kind of like work through the US and just
kind of highlight a are there any good plays like
about or taking place in that state?

Speaker 3 (03:48):
But are there play rights? Are their actors? Are their directors?
Are their companies? Are their colleges? Are their programs? Are
their trainings?

Speaker 5 (03:54):
What's going on state by state in terms of the
theater world that you can be involved in you can support.
Obviously we're doing this alphabetically, so if you're from Wyoming,
hang in there, but you have about a year, yeah,
to hit us up with anything you want.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Us to know.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
That's the other thing that we wanted to say. Obviously
we are like batching. So if you're in the first
couple of letters, still reach out to us and we'll
give you a shout out in a later episode. But
this so our past seasons, we're twenty six episodes for
each letter and then a couple of platos in between.
This is fifty states plus a plato every five episodes.
Now it's going to be a sixty episode season, so

(04:30):
a little over a year. A little over a year,
so this is a lot bigger than anything we've done.
But the other thing is that we're not in like
grad school anymore. We don't have like summer break where
we have to leave each other for like three months
like we have this time. Know that there still might
be a little holiday break. There still might be like
those hiatuses here and there. We're business in the city
and we're building our lives, but like we are, yeah,
I'm really saying we are. That is also because it's

(04:51):
such a long season and we felt that these episodes
we could dive into them in so many different ways.
Instead of doing half and half, we're doing each one
of us is taking a state. So like when she said,
like I'm doing Alabama and she doing Alaska, she means
that like, I'm doing all the Alabama research and bringing
that to the room, and then she brings all the
Alaska research into the room. And it's the co host
job to comment and partake and chat about it and

(05:15):
question it and.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Have there's a new segment.

Speaker 5 (05:18):
If you're here from season one and season two, you
might remember that the e k R.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Or or or or started to get a little redundant.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
Because we had to go through the same obviously for musicals.
So we've got a new new spin we're doing on
that you'll hear about it.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Yeah, we do our you know, first time.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
We're not going to say anything, but I will say
it is it is a news song. You know what,
Maybe I'll do Maybe I'll post the actual EKR song
onto like that's fine.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
Sorry, have diabetes, diabetes, I need to change my infusion
set soon.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
But maybe I'll take the song and I'll like post
it as like an audio on like TikTok or Instagram
or something so it can be forever immortalized. Because I
will say, we aren't going to say anying about this
upcoming game, but the e KR is like we're not
doing the season. It's retired and I do. I'm very
proud of that banger of a song.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
It's a good song.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
It's a good song.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
It's a really good song.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
Also, you guys were coming up on one hundred episodes
the beginning of this season, which feels crazy to us.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
But we're now in our fourth recording location.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Yeah, we're we are in our fourth recording.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Yeah, we've been doing this now, we have been, but yeah,
we're so excited this.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
This is a big season, one hundred episodes in this
this episode coming out right now is ninety two or
ninety three, Yeah, forget, it's close. So it's coming up
in the top. And I will say we aren't. We
don't really even know yet, but I will when the
one hundredth episode comes. We're not going to do a
state or anything. We're going to do a special. We'll
do something well, even if it's just sitting here and
chatting and reminiscing about the one hundred episodes. If we
figure out what we want to do, I don't know,

(06:48):
we'll figure it out. But yeah, it's gonna be fun
trying to think about this now that we're in New York.
We have a couple aspirations for the podcast that I think,
like we're going to try to hit throughout this season
and maybe see so if there's anything you want us
to hit. We've been talking about merch forever. If there's
a way for us to figure that out, Dude, I
get the nicest I.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Know people being like would you shift to like this
country or that country? And I'm always like, how did
you find us?

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Yeah? How you know me get out of here like.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
A really normal human who like Also, like I really
believe in like ethical sourcing and stuff like that, so
like if I was a worse guy, I would just
be like drop shipping as a like around the world.
Oh yeah, and also I don't want to like sell
something for a profit if.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
It's like handmade by me and it's going to fall apart, like.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
You're gonna be wait, start keep going.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
But yeah, eventually we're going to figure something out.

Speaker 5 (07:37):
We have an idea for potentially a plate a Z
poster or something like that for this season.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
So yeah, stay tuned.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
But again, thank you so much for supporting us, listening
to us for two whole seasons enough that we moved
across the country again and are going to be doing
the podcast again.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
We're super excited, so cool. We have a lot of
plans and ideas and thoughts about this season, and because
it's so long, hopefully you know, we'll be able to
achieve some of them.

Speaker 5 (07:59):
And also we have states that are so close to
our hearts that were really exactly shared with you. And
I'm sure that a lot of folks listening to us
are from places that we've never been.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
So again, d m us email us at whatever play
z podcast at gmail dot com.

Speaker 5 (08:11):
Because we'd love to hear you know, if it times
out right about a production we can talk about of yours,
or if there's a theater that's really near and your heart, your.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Heart, we want to know.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
I am an acting class.

Speaker 5 (08:21):
Yes, literally anything let us know, because it's kind of
like a big season for us to to give back
to you guys.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
It was cool. It's been cool. I will say, like
we've already started research for like Alabama and Alaska, and like,
just from doing research on Alabama, I've been able to
really like go back into digging deep on MPX and
finding people I've never heard of, and and like digging
for like spoiler alert, Alabama only has two equity theaters,
so like digging deep into those community theaters or where

(08:49):
those playwrights are doing stuff and all that. So I'm
really it's it's been a very fun start and I
I don't know. I think it's gonna be a blast.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
It's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
It's gonna be as oh say the F word. That's right,
not glass breaking anymore? What was that? Uh?

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Now, it's an eagle.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
And here's the thing. We did get a real eagle
for we got we we grabbed an eagle from the skill.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Yeah, that's not an audio, that's not a sample.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
That's that's a real eagle. That's our pet eagle Eagerly.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
And oh yeah, I was just gonna say his.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Name is his name is Eagerly, But I will. I'm
gonna put Eric on the spots. It's my favorite thing
to do. Yeah, you did briefly consider being the eagle
for this season? Do you want to give them your
best call?

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (09:37):
You ready? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Give me it?

Speaker 1 (09:43):
So stupid you had no idea? Tell you which one
is the bird. I'm gonna play it again right now,
and now, Erica, you to yours? Did I switch him
up on you? Or was that really? Erica? Give you
no idea?

Speaker 3 (09:57):
I'm going to add it to my special skills.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Trying to think we've anything else. We gotta say welcome back. Yeah,
welcome back to you all, and welcome back to us
as well, and honestly welcome to New York. Well, yeah,
welcome back more to us. You guys have been getting
these episodes every yether. Oh last thing. Yeah, this episode's
coming out today, the day that you're listening to it.
We're going to take a two week break, yes, and
then we're going to come out with the first episode.

(10:21):
So the next two weeks no Platz content, and then
right after that Alabama will begin. And it is fully
our intention to release every week, to release every week
weekly for sixty weeks. I mean obviously with holidays and stuff,
there might be like a week or two there, but
but that should be the rhythm. Again. Yeah, so after this,
give us two weeks. Oh, we're not going to do
video content too. So know that, like all that stuff
is coming back, and know people of DM me about

(10:41):
it and ask because those videos do really well on
TikTok and people like them and I think they're fun.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
So so yeah, know that, but know that these next
two weeks after this week are going to be a
break and then we'll start season three officially, but we
wanted to tell you what this season's gonna be. Yeah,
start at the top of the alphabet. It's so far. Yeah.
Oh god, I'm excited though.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
I'm excited too.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Yeah. Well, thank you so much for listening. Is that
everything I guess? Yeah? Yeah, thank you so much for
listening to the podcast. We are so excited for season three.

something specific from your state, you want to talk about

your states, from your state, all that stuff, email us

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Keep producing on.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
And keep producing.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
It's so cool.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Yeah, community garden. I think we just hit like twenty five,
which is crazy. So yeah, it's very very rad. Yeah,
we'll keep you guys up to date with all the
stuff we're doing in the city. Hopefully we start getting
to do some cool stuff. We just got here literally
in the last month, so it's been a lot.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
Yeah, we're still like acquiring a toaster.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
And exactly that nature exactly exactly.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
But we're so excited to be here. And we missed
you guys a lot.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
I'm and here's the thing, throw the audience away. I
missed this a lot.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
Dude, I missed like literally we were part all summer.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
Yeah, and I just am so happy to hang out
with you at the minimum once a week and place.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
Yeah it is nice. We still we do live together,
so we'll hopefully see each other more than once a week.
But one can hope, one can hope, one can dream.
I love you, I love you.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
I want to end this episode the way. Wait, I'm
trying to think of there's anything else that we do
at the end of episode because I'm a recorded like
three months Instagram shout out and shout out talked about
what we were doing, which isn't really anything right now,
because we just got here. I know I'm thinking about before.
I know that I'm thinking before.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
That one is the warm up?

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Was there anything else before that that I'm forgetting?

Speaker 3 (12:48):
I don't remember? Yes, us, Hey, welcome to the third
round of the alphabet. We missed you.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Yeah, we miss you so much. And I'm gonna end
this episode the way I end every episode, but looking
at my best friend in her blue blue New York,
New York City, the City of Angels, tylor Eric Caine,
I love you so much, and.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Justin Borak, I love you so much.

the state song. Okay, it is God, I hated it.

(15:10):
Maybe we tell them beforehand.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
I think that gives it away.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Yeah, that's the point. I don't want them, I don't
want the things on It just sound like random notes
on the harmonica.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
Honestly, I recognize it.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
