your podcast.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
We got Doyle still on the road, busy busy man.
So we're gonna do another two man episode. We're gonna
pen him in where we can. I did listen to
his a little bit of his audio clip that you
sent me, but uh, I'll say that for later. Are
you ready for Knight of Champions? And I say that
(03:14):
with question mark dre because there hasn't many champions on
the card.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 6 (03:23):
Yeah, this is more like a Knight of Champion without
the sight of some champions.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Two champions the United States and the n dist ww.
But I feel like this should have just been called
like the King of the Ring.
Speaker 6 (03:41):
You know, right, if everyone do it like this, you
might as well have just called the King and Queen
of the Ring.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Why even call it Knight.
Speaker 6 (03:48):
Of Champions with two fucking championship matches?
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Right, we have a ridiculous amount of titles and this
is where we are.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
Or giving a state of things in the world.
Speaker 6 (04:00):
You could have called it WWE in your house, bombs
over bag Dad or something.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Yeah, you know, WW just always has the just this
odd you know, timing, just shit's going on in the
real world and it crosses over with wrestling, and I
hate it. And it always seems to be whenever they
go to Saudi. I believe one year they were stuck
(04:29):
on a tarmac.
Speaker 6 (04:30):
Weren't they probably, But I mean, granted, they don't have
any control over the events of the world. They have
no control over that, right, but they can't control how
they respond every act to it. And obviously the fact
that shit is going down the way it is right
(04:51):
now in the Middle East, and if WW is just
like full sind like, ain't shit happening is questionable at best,
because you can't you can't say that, you know, WWE
Superstars Crew and all aren't nervous about going over there.
Speaker 7 (05:16):
But.
Speaker 6 (05:18):
WWE slash TKO are only thinking about the dollars. And
the fact that apparently it's been reported that if they
were to cancel Night of Champions and the SmackDown, because
let's not forget that this Friday SmackDown is also emanating
from Saudi Arabia.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Apparently, if they canceled the both.
Speaker 6 (05:38):
Of those shows, they would lose fifty million dollars.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
That's a lot of cheese on the table, man, no money.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
To sneeze at. But no, damn, Like, where's the line?
Speaker 6 (05:52):
I think that's kind of the question that just pops
up like it's one thing if there's like, you know,
conflict guffles, you know, little dust up here and there,
But this is, this feels different. This is it's a
little bit more than the dust up. This is a
little more than This is about as close as you
can get the full blown war without I guess it
(06:14):
officially being called a war, right, And they just like
just saying, though, ain't no exposures happening in Saudi Arabia?
What the fuck we ain't going over there?
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Fo, I mean, just as thinking as even if you're
not a wrestler, you're just a part of the crew
having to go over there, you.
Speaker 6 (06:35):
Know, Yeah, anybody with the company that has to travel
over there right now.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Yeah, Ran didn't.
Speaker 6 (06:43):
Say, you know, you know, ww superstars ain't safe. They
said Americans ain't safe. In other words, all of you motherfuckers.
And it ain't like they don't know wwe come into town.
I'm not saying that they would targeted, not wishing that
they would. I would never wish anything like that. But
(07:05):
you're pretty big organization having a pretty big HELLI Fied
American ass event right next door.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Mm hmm, just saying.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
All right, and this is where we're at, and I
think we got to go back again one more time
this year, right, I think so?
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Yeah. I think they still have Crown Jewel or something
in the fall.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Yeah, something like that. And yeah, all right, with that said,
I guess let's go over this. Let's go over this
card here. First. On the card, we'll start with, finally
(07:54):
we're getting I don't know how long you've been excited
for this build up, how how long you've been dying
to this match, but we're finally getting Sammy's Ain versus
Carrying Cross. I don't know how excited you've been for
this feud. This is very very.
Speaker 6 (08:12):
Ca Yeah, I mean the feud itself. I don't know
that there's much excitement for the feud itself. I think
from some fans standpoint, the most interesting aspect of this
is Carrying Cross finally getting another PL match for the
first time since twenty twenty three, twenty two. Yeah, yeah,
(08:36):
I mean, and he's even he even took to uh
social media to thank the fans for supporting him and
having his back and basically getting him on this PL
through their support. Because even though you might not tell
if you'll if you only watch Raw and SmackDown and stuff,
but Carrion Cross has really been getting over like a
motherfucker with fans under the radars pretty much since Russia.
(09:01):
He gets like consistently the biggest pops on main event
every week. Fans are over his health for him, they
support him left and right, and apparently it's finally maybe
w W and Paul and them are finally turning the
corner on him and deciding to you know, ride this
undercurrent or ride this wave of carrying Cross that's starting
(09:23):
to take over. So hopefully this isn't just a one
and done match, and hopefully this will lead to more
for Cross. Whether he's a heel or a babyface, I
really don't care, just more of him being featured and
being able to showcase what he's capable of. And from
a personal aspect, I hope he kicks the dog shit
(09:44):
out of Samy's a.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
I mean, I think he's gonna get beaten by Sammy
Zain To be honest, I I just uh, because then
he had this little thing with AJ styles very similar, right,
and then I believe A beat him. Ah it's now,
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (10:07):
That's when Well put his arms behind his back and
allowed AJ to basically cream him with the phenomenal for arm.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Do you think this, you know, open minded, Harry, do
you think at all this is leading to Sammy AJ
and carrying a cross possibly being in a group of
some kind. And that's a very odd.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Pairing, I know, very odd pairing.
Speaker 6 (10:33):
I kind of don't really see it because they seem
to have moved on from crossing. AJ and AJ is
kind of you know, targeting dom dominic right now. I mean,
there'd be some it could make for some interesting long
form to storytelling if they were to eventually form some
sort of a faction. But if they're going to rise,
(10:55):
then another faction would have to fall, because you know
they can you can only juggle so many factions at
one time. You know, this Judgment Day is still hanging
on seth Rollins obviously is the new up and coming bloodline.
Two point zero is in the ICU and WYAT six,
(11:19):
I guess is doing something on SmackDown for the tag
titles or whatever. Right, So, while it would be it's
an interesting prospect, I don't know that I would put
too much stock or any too much hope in that.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Yeah, I mean, I'm just wondering where these these subtle
feuds that he's having or going. You know, I didn't
know if it was leading to something possibly much larger.
Speaker 6 (11:50):
Yeah, I mean I'd like to see it maybe lead
to something for him personally.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
Yeah, you know, you know, if it.
Speaker 6 (11:57):
Helps evolve his character or grow his character as some
sort of you know, backstage messiah or some you know
true teller or you know, some fortune teller. Is like,
you know, this guy like he told us all along,
nobody wanted to see it, and you know, all the
ship he says starts out that.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
He was right all along.
Speaker 6 (12:18):
That could be interesting for him. He could be like
the Simpsons of the w w E. Everybody just starts
looking back and shit, he said, like damn Cross predicted
that ship all the way back in twenty twenty three.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Yeah, that's true, that's true. Yeah, this could be like
once and you have no idea. You know, it's all
part of the show. Who knows. Hey, how do you
feel about starting this p l e. At one in
the afternoon?
Speaker 3 (12:56):
That's when that shit starts this Saturday.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Yeah Night Championshi streams alive June twenty eighth, one pm Eastern.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Yeah. I don't know why I was not thinking. I
don't know why I.
Speaker 6 (13:09):
Was sitting here thinking that this ship was like a
regular seven or eight o'clock, Like this ship ain't all
the way on the other side of the damn world.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
Yeah, and you know what, I'm gonna be honest, it
starts at one middle of my fucking day. I'm probably
gonna wait until later at night and then watch it
and just kind of stay off social media. I got
shipp to do.
Speaker 6 (13:32):
Yeah, I'll definitely be doing the same because I have
plans this afternoon, Saturday afternoon.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
I mean, like, it's really it, right, It's just like
I got ship to do. Yeah, I don't, I don't.
I really don't wanna. It's gonna be nice out this weekend.
I don't wanna be inside of one in the afternoon.
Maybe later at night when it's cooling off. Yeah, but
uh yeah that Hey, you know, we're so accustomed to
(13:59):
like when they go. They just did that that tour
not too long ago, uh the European Tour, I think
it was, and they were just starting at all different times,
weird times, these.
Speaker 6 (14:09):
Pels, but they were starting them in the afternoon, so
I should have like should have been like their overseas.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Of course it's gonna start early.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Ye yeah, yeah, I mean yeah, I think I mentioned
they're back in Rehat and Saudi at the Kingdom Arena
before this pl there was money in the bank. If
you didn't listen to that episode, go back and check
out money in the bank. After after this one is
(14:41):
the Great American Bash, and we'll talk about that then.
All right, Moving on from Sammy Zane and carrying Cross,
I'm assuming that's that's probably gonna be a match that's
gonna be a buffer before the main event, right, you know,
I think that's an opening match.
Speaker 6 (14:59):
I could see that being the case, just because we
know how over sammise Ain is with the Saudi crowd.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
Yes, which means that.
Speaker 6 (15:08):
As much as I would love for Karene Cross to
winness match, sammyse probably will win because you know, make
the Saudi's happy.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Yeah, yeah, I mean that that's as soon as I
knew that Master was made at and I was like, oh,
kren Cross could win this, That'd be an awesome win
for him, and I forgot where it was gonna be
and I was like, uh yeah, w for Sam.
Speaker 6 (15:29):
It'll either be the second to last match to you know,
lead into the main event for the to get the
crowd hype back up, or it'll kick off the plea
to start off with a bang.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
That's true. Hmm, all right, Let's let's move on to
uh Ripley versus Raquel Rodriguez in a street fight. It's
been pretty good. I mean I honestly like whenever, like
in or the main roster, whenever Raquel and Ria have
(16:02):
cross paths. Now, I know Raquel is definitely not up
to par as real, but it is nice seeing kind
of Ria go against somebody her own size.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
You know.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
I'm just as late, you know, her feeting with like
liv Morgan, who's so much smaller. And Ria's just just
a big girl, you know. So it's nice seeing her
and Raquel go out of it. So I'm probably gonna
enjoy the hell out of the street fight. I see
some kendo sticks, I see a slim gym table and
(16:36):
maybe a uh god, what was the name of the
fireball ladder? Do you think they'll have advertising? Actually, I
don't think they will.
Speaker 6 (16:47):
Yes, the people did not pay money, so only.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
Advertised in the US. Yeah, they paid.
Speaker 6 (16:54):
Money to be advertised on WWE programming period.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Okay, yeah, I think are we getting the salt the
Prime station, you know, the Prime water?
Speaker 3 (17:07):
I mean, we could get ship like they always see.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
Well, yeah, I'm like wondering, like, are we gonna get
the slim gym tables? Are we gonna get the fireball ladder?
I'm trying now, I'm like looking for all types of logo.
I want to see if they put it on the
dumbest ship like chairs, and they're gonna put it on
the chairs like I understand, which is funny too. We've
(17:35):
never seen I've never seen these us. Have you ever
seen one of those those steel chairs with the p
L E logo on them being used ever as a weapon?
Speaker 3 (17:44):
No, because those are steal Those chairs are usually padded.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
Yeah that's true. But yeah, I mean I don't know
what if they would logo steel chairs, would it be
just like a sticker or would it be like a
padded logo. But I don't know. I guess I'm digging
too deep into it now because then soon we're gonna
have like Twizzler, Cando sticks or some ship uh where
(18:11):
this is.
Speaker 6 (18:13):
Yeah, I'd rather not because more the logos they slap
on ship, the less the less you can take. Granted,
it's not a product, you know, it's a professional wrestling.
You can only take it, but so seriously, but the.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
More just.
Speaker 6 (18:29):
Almost cartoonish, this ship becomes at some point you're gonna
slap a logo on just every fucking thing.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
Yeah, it becomes very silly, it does it. It becomes like
just ridiculous. You know, I don't have I don't have
it anymore. But like I wonder, like when you watch
it on Hulu, like the recaps of SmackDown or something
like how much time has cut off just an ad
just watching ads alone? But now, you know, not not
(19:00):
are we getting bombarded with ads after ads from like
what Netflix or Peacock or wherever you're watching you're wrestling,
but it's just now we're seeing it everywhere in the ring.
You know it first it started with the one logo
in the center, and then it became six to like
almost eight now, and now it's just it's everywhere. Man,
(19:20):
It's ridiculous. Hell. Sometimes we have wrestlers, you know, dress
you know, close to uh whatever they're being sponsored by
that week, but I get yeah, Elle Knight with his
slim gyms. Anyway, Riah versus Raquel. I think this is
(19:44):
gonna be a pretty good banger of a match for
the women. I'm pretty excited for it. I want to
see somebody go through with a slim gym table. So
what are your thoughts?
Speaker 3 (19:57):
Yeah, I mean we've seen these two go it before.
Speaker 6 (20:00):
It's pretty much gonna be what we've seen from them,
always power moves, hard hitting. Yeah, it's it's a no
DQ match. So we'll get chairs and tables and kindo
sticks and maybe trash cans or whatever else they want
to use to make this match feel you know, hardcore
(20:23):
or whatever fit the street fight motif. And in the end,
Ray Ripley's gonna come out on top more than likely,
unless the only way she doesn't is if somehow or
if not somehow, but if Roxanne Perez shows up to
interfere to help Roquelle get the win, and maybe in
(20:45):
doing that, that's how she wins over Roquel and they
excuse me and they become the team and live Morgan's absence.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
I was thinking the same thing because this match did
seem kind of like out of nowhere. I mean, come on,
did we really need every versus Raquel match that you know?
This could be on Raw?
Speaker 7 (21:08):
Like?
Speaker 1 (21:08):
So, I think you're right though, that that could definitely
be the swerve here. I mean, because evolution is right
around the corner. Right around the corner Evolution for you
guys listening is July thirteenth, that's not that far away.
And they did have women's tag titles planned, a match planned,
(21:29):
and it was kind of scrapped. And if you don't
have the women's tag titles on this plee, then you
should just get rid of one period. So they're quickly
setting up for that. You're kind of right, man, that'd
be a perfect way to shoehorn Roxhande right into the
good graces of Raquel, you know, saving her ass from
(21:50):
maybe a rip tide or something. And you're right due, no, DQ,
I see, totally, dude, totally. Uh. I kind of want
change my opinion on that now, I kind of I
kind of want to go with that. I'm feeling more
of that now that I'm looking at it. Just how
odd this.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
I mean that is? I mean, damn, yeah, that's my prediction. Honestly.
Speaker 6 (22:11):
I think Roxaneperez interferes to give Roquel to win and
then they become a new team.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
Yop sliding in there to take dirty Dom next. Which,
for the record, uh, I understand why you left Rid
for Live, but you can't leave Live for Roxanne.
Speaker 6 (22:34):
Just come on, I love Live as much as everybody
else's made. Don't sleep on don't sleep on Roxy. I
don't sleep on Roxy.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
Mm hmmm, damn dumb man. The man has a good
life right now, very good life.
Speaker 6 (22:50):
Right recently recreated his old childhood picture with Tristratus too.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
I saw that. I was like, yeah, I hate you more,
I know, that's what I said. I was like, fucking legend.
H yeah, absolutely, all right. Let's move on here to
uh Jacob five two versus Solo Socoa. This will be
(23:18):
our probably our first championship match on the card. This
is for the United States Championship match. I think Jacob
Fat has been running pretty strong as our United States champion. Uh.
I I'm in. I'm enjoying it, man, Like, I feel
like it's in good hands right now. But Solo Socoa
(23:43):
is not alone. I feel like with the amount of
interference and possibly rumor of a yet another Bloodline member appearing,
you know, I guess, I guess when you will have
enough your stable members injured, you can just swap them out,
(24:05):
you know, with just other members of the family.
Speaker 6 (24:07):
This is it's serious, the rumor of the new blood
Line member of the week.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
It happens all the time. Now there's gonna be this guy,
and there's gonna be this guy.
Speaker 6 (24:16):
And now everybody's ramped up about a new blood Line
member because uh, hikuleo.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Uh what had a dark match on.
Speaker 6 (24:24):
SmackDown was a wee could go or something or raw
a wee could go or something. So now everybody's like,
Ohio's I don't even know if I'm saying his name right,
but is he.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
About to show up? He about to pop up on
the main roster? He might.
Speaker 6 (24:40):
But at the same time, if they're giving us Jacob
Fatsu versus Solo now, and this is a match that
we thought we were gonna get at SummerSlam, But if
they're doing it now, then what.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
The hell is left in this after this match?
Speaker 6 (24:54):
Like Solo ain't winning the US Championship all fatsu they did,
Like that's not happening. So more than likely if Jacob
Fatu is gonna win and then what he's broke away?
He's beat Solo in a match, but as clean as
a break as he can get what what? What would
be left in their fuse at this point? I feel
(25:16):
like Fatu should win and then let him move on
to whoever his next challenger is and then let Solo
on them figure out whatever the fuck they're gonna do
with their lives.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
Yeah, I mean we did see Jimmy USO come out
to to his aid, Jacob Fatu's aid, which I thought
was kind of weird, you know. I was like, man,
you guys were just feeding not too long ago, but
I get it blood but uh yeah, I mean, can
(25:49):
we see Jacob Fartu and the USO's team up together?
So so weird? But I don't know, Uh yeah, and
you still got the uh tom on tungaloa out when
they returned. Where do they go? This is this is
becoming the the WWE's version of the nWo nWo. It
(26:15):
really is dude, like, how do we not have like
a basic bloodline shirt right now? You know?
Speaker 6 (26:21):
Ah, because they never thought of that type of branding
of just like a bloodline logo similar to what like
the nWo or d X or something. I mean they
kind of sort of have it. I mean they have
that font that they were using when they were creating
all the shirt shirts, but they was like, no, honore
(26:43):
USSO or the USSO saying we do them ones or whatever.
They had that bloodline font, but yeah, they kind of
dropped the ball not having just a simple, straightforward logo
for the bloodline that everybody could just rock. That could
become a could have become a long term, like forever
money maker for him basically. Yeah, like how the nWo
(27:05):
shirt still prints money to this day, How the Austin
three to sixteen skull still prints money to this day.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
They missed like that miss Yeah, you could have done
a logo with a certain color for for the blood line,
and then when you had the new blood line, you
could have had a different color for that and then
just just kept the same logo. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
Yeah, you're right, I really would be black and red,
because that's right right, pretty.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
Much yep, But yeah, they did definitely missed out on
a big opportunity there. But yeah, it's so many. I'm
just like, hell, the bloodline has their own Wikipedia page.
That's how many people are in the blood line or
have been in and out of the blood line. I
definitely feel like there's gonna be interference. Hearing some shenanigans. Uh,
(27:52):
they're going to try to get this title off of
him as much as possible. But I mean I could
see them, you know, him getting screwed over this and
and you know, losing this title and we're gonna enjoy
the chase while he's being solo, is being well protected.
I think I would much rather enjoy the chase for
(28:13):
him getting that title back.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
But I'd be surprised if Jacob Patu lost the US
title in this match.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Yeah, you think it's just gonna get clean, no interference.
You think he's can be able.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
To no no, no in no way, shape or form.
Do I think it's going to be a clean match.
Speaker 6 (28:30):
You know, I think either jacobau is gonna win or
it's going to end up in a no finish due
to some interference. And that's how they kind of dragged
us out. Okay, I get pretty much ends up in
like a dq NO contest something due to outside interference,
and then that just kicks the can down the road.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
Further on this, Yeah, that's true because I and I
liked it. The fact that you know, this is liked
in the main event title scene, this is elevating the
United States title. Now we have the blood Line, you know,
audition it out for the mid card title. I kind
(29:12):
of like that. It's elevating that car. It's elevating that title.
Speaker 6 (29:17):
Yeah, it does good for the title, don't do good
for blood Line two point oh, but maybe this is
what they need. They clearly weren't really main event ready
when they were feuding with OG blood Line. That's all
anybody really cared about was just OG blood Line, and
nobody gave a shit about blood Line two point oh
except for Jacobi to himself. Despite the fact that they
(29:41):
had it could have been, it had potential, but injuries, I.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
Ultimately fucked them over.
Speaker 6 (29:49):
I think right when they were on the cusp of
potentially really finally getting something to stick.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
Right.
Speaker 6 (29:58):
Like I said, I think when they when they want
and when they had what you call it. Bronson Reid
with them going into War Games last year.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
Yes, that was it. That was it.
Speaker 6 (30:11):
Everybody had that same reaction. They saw Bronton read with him.
He's like, Yo, this fits.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
This is perfect.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
Man.
Speaker 6 (30:17):
Yep, Bronson and Jacob solo as their leader. And then
you know and Tom of Tonga or in Tonga lows somewhere.
Speaker 3 (30:27):
Like that was it. That was the click yop. And
then they all got injured.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
Yeah, that's the thing, man, is like the I'll bring
it up, you know, I screw it real quick in
the middle of the show.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
I'm going to bring it up.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
I do have like a list of like there's just
wrestlers who are just injured on this roster. It's it's
kind of just ridiculous, to be honest. I think we
have like at least seven wrestlers out. We have thirteen.
Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Lived More Again Now, Dominic Mystereo,
(31:02):
Bianca bell Air, Ray Mystereo, Chad Gable, Uh draggon off,
Tomatunga dragging off. Yeah, Zoe stark Otis and Apollo Cruise
Like that's a lot.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
Got somebody who else?
Speaker 1 (31:23):
Wait, who do I forget?
Speaker 3 (31:25):
El Grand Medicano. I don't know injured.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
I think he's he might be good.
Speaker 6 (31:35):
He is officially listed as out injured the same time
as otis.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
Man, that's so weird.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
And not saying anything but just saying, oh, man.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Yeah, this is rough, And especially with summer slam right
around the corner.
Speaker 6 (31:59):
Even with all those injuries, they are not lacking for
people for talent. You're supposed to show how deep the
freaking roster.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
Is, right, But you know what I hate about injuries
is like, you know, as a wrestler, you only have
so much. This isn't about contracts. It's about just your body,
how much time your body has. And it sucks when
you're spending a good portion of your prime years, you know, injured,
and then when you're all fixed up, it's kind of
(32:28):
like you might it might be a little bit too late.
You might have missed that window. I'm depending how long
you're out, but I don't know. Sometimes it's never the case.
Sometimes it's really good for them. Sometimes they come back better.
Speaker 6 (32:40):
So yeah, certainly, I mean, injuries are a curt They
be a blessing. They can be a curse. Ye, all
depends on you know, what do you do with it?
You know, what do you do with your time, What
do you do? How do you come back out of
the fans react to you? You know, sometimes I when
(33:04):
you think about a prime example was Triplation two thousand
and one. You know when he got when he tore
his squad after WrestleMania seventeen and.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
Was out for the year.
Speaker 6 (33:18):
You know, right in the middle of him in stone
cold having that two man power trip that was supposed
to be like the big thing for two thousand and one,
and they were gonna run and then he tears the squad.
He's out for the rest of the year. You know,
he was Triple Ahs was a champion, He had been champion,
and he had obviously been a main eventor he was
one of the top guys of the Attitude era, and
(33:40):
he was heal as fuck. But when he came back,
how fucking over was he he had hit that he
was in. He came back in that appreciation phase where like,
while he was out, fans grew to you know, miss him.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
They was like, yo, damn, we didn't.
Speaker 6 (34:00):
Appreciate Triple H the way we should probably should have
when he was out here fucking people up left and right.
So when he came back over the fucking moon rocket
shit right back to the WWE Championship, which.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
They then made him fucking lose the Hug Hugan on
some old bullshit. But whatever.
Speaker 6 (34:19):
So you know, maybe some of these people who are
currently out injured somebody not saying all of them, but
somebody maybe like a like a Zoe Stark, possibly she
could come back, and if done right, you know, maybe
there's a level maybe she could come back with some momentum.
Liv Morgan is a prime example, you know, with all
(34:41):
the heel work and all that she's been doing and
the work that how she been grinding out and doing
her the best work of her career. I'd be shocked
if she doesn't come back as a megababyface. I would
be shocked, especially as given how long she's expected to
possibly be which is like six months, so she might
(35:01):
be out for the rest of the year. You think
about that, fucking if she comes back in like the
World Rumble next year, you know live and you know
domond Roxane Peres been doing all this that and the
third you know, they carrying on having a little affair,
YadA YadA, and then all of a sudden that washbet
(35:22):
music hit. She she Live will be over as fuck,
just like Rio was when she came back.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
Yeah, I'm pretty excited. Uh, just all about timing speaking
of somebody who made a great comeback. It's been going
actually for a long time. For quite some time. She
was out for a couple of months, and then she
was spoiled when she came back. Even nice if we
(35:57):
talked about last episode, she wasn't spoiled about her turn.
But Osca. The next match here I'm gonna talk about
is Oscar versus Jade Cargo and the Queen of the
Ring Tournament finals.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
The winner is crowned Queen of the Ring and receives
a match of the respective brands World Championships at SummerSlam.
Just like we said it would get one wrestler from Raw,
one wrestler from SmackDown. The tournament that led here, Jade
(36:29):
was in a match with mechen Ni Jackson, Piper Nevin
and a fatal four way, defeated them, then defeated Roxane
Perez and Scott Hears. His semi finals, uh Osca defeated
Ivy Nile, Raquel and Stephanie In in a fatal four way,
and then defeated Alexa Bliss the other night with a
(36:49):
pin which I thought was a pretty good match. I
could have I would have been fined either way. Uh,
I did not see this match coming. This is a
odd pairing of sorts. Uh. And you know what, Drey,
they kind of set it up like I'd be content
with whoever wins this because if we get to see
(37:12):
Oscar versus EO Sky, I'm down for that, you know.
And we know, you know, we kind of mapped out
maybe the trajectory of maybe Jay Cargo winning this and
possibly going on and Naomi having something to do with
with her and her first title win. No considering she's
(37:34):
the money in the Bank Women's briefcase holder, So it
is really hard to say where this is gonna go.
I think, I hate say it, but Oscar is the
far better wrestler in the ring. I think though that
they are going to push Jade Cargill and get her
(37:57):
the w but I feel like I'm still gonna enjoy
the match. Uh. You know, I've never seen these two
mixed up in the ring, so hopefully it's it's pretty
solid Tree. What are you thinking.
Speaker 6 (38:15):
I'd be stunned if Jay Cargill does not win this match.
I mean, I love Oscar as much as everybody else.
I'm honestly surprised that she got to the finals, Like
I'm surprised they pushed her all the way to the
finals in this kind of match.
Speaker 3 (38:32):
I mean maybe I don't know. I mean, she yes,
she came back.
Speaker 6 (38:37):
Everybody's happy to see her back, But to come back
and just really be a melily shoved to queen of
the Ring.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
Don't seem to make much sense, Like where's the story?
Speaker 6 (38:49):
Yes, Oscar versus the Eel Sky is gonna be a
phenomenal match, but it's also a match.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
We've seen before. We saw it during Eel's.
Speaker 6 (38:59):
Title runners WWE Women's Champion when she was still with
Damage Controlling before Oscar joined them. We got that match
on an episode of SmackDown, and that wasn't that long ago.
That was twenty twenty three. So yes, it'd be a
(39:20):
great match, great match on paper, but Oscar doesn't need
to be Queen of the Ring for.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
That match to happen.
Speaker 6 (39:27):
Whereas with Jade, again we've talked about where the story
is that is there for that for the longest. Jade
finally has a legitimate reason to challenge for the Tiffy
Stratton's ww Women's Championship, as they've been teasing that for
(39:47):
months now, with them having little you know, little throwing
little barbs back and forth for each other, having little
dust ups here and there, getting snippy with each other.
So that's been teased for the longest. The story is
already there for Jade and Tiffany Stratton. There's not again,
(40:09):
there's not much story there for Osca and EO. And
I don't think you need to got you don't need
the crown for that. So I think Oscar is there
to help j Cargill have a great match because clearly,
like you said, Oscar is definitely the superior in ring performer.
(40:29):
She is the veteran, and she can definitely help j
Cargo have a great match, just in the same way
that Roxanne Perez helped J. Cargo have a good match
in their semi finals matchup. So yeah, it's got to be.
It's Jay Cargill all the way, not a doubt in
(40:50):
my mind. Okay, good talk.
Speaker 1 (41:10):
Uh s I was miked, I was muted. Oh God,
how silly of me. No, I I totally agree, man, uh,
And I'm right. I think Oscar's going to help her
put on a good, solid match.
Speaker 4 (41:26):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (41:26):
And this is this is a big win that she
needs to get up over uh and to be a
pretty decent threat to the our current women's champion. But
I'm pretty excited for it.
Speaker 6 (41:39):
So I think she's already a threat to Tivity Stratton.
She just needs a she needs probable cause to challenge.
Speaker 3 (41:46):
For the title. Yes, and being Queen of the Ring
gives her that.
Speaker 4 (41:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (41:52):
I expect a pretty good entrance though, uh, especially she's
if she becomes Queen of the Ring, like the entrance
she'll be giving after that, you know, I can I
can see her coming out with like a like a
rope or like a you know, like something like to match.
Speaker 3 (42:12):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
I think she's gonna be like dressing something elegant after this,
the big awesome entrance, you know, the Queen is coming,
not a storm.
Speaker 6 (42:26):
And then there's obviously, since it's not happening till SummerSlam,
you still have a whole month to build up Jade
versus Tiffany Stratton and also also deal with the fallout
of j Cargill being Queen of the Ring and the
inherent jealousy that that will evoke in certain other wrestlers,
(42:47):
like a Naomi or a quote unquote Queen Charlotte Flair.
Howell they react to Jake Cargill, especially like somebody like Charlotte. Yeah,
How's how's Charlotte going to react to Jay calling herself queen?
Speaker 3 (43:04):
Now?
Speaker 1 (43:05):
Yep, yep, I I totally agree with that.
Speaker 6 (43:09):
There's way more meat on the bone of j Cargill
as Queen of the Ring than there is as Oscar.
Speaker 3 (43:16):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (43:18):
All right, all right, let's move on here to the
Men's King the Ring final. We are getting Randy Orton
versus Cody Rhodes, the winner's crown King of the Ring
season matter to respect the brands a world championship at SummerSlam. Huh.
(43:40):
You know, I can't recall it's been a while since
Randy Orton versus Cody Rhodes. I wonder if when are.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
They both smack down technically less?
Speaker 6 (43:52):
Yeah, so the winner basically is challenging John Cena pretty much,
not even like the winner gets their respect to brand.
Now the winner faces johnsena SummerSlam. So the real question
is which one are we gonna get? Randy Orton versus
(44:13):
John Cena again after they already told us that Randy
Orton versus Johnsena happens for the last time at Backlash,
or are we gonna get Cody Rhodse rematch versus John Cena.
Speaker 3 (44:26):
Hmm, I wonder The last.
Speaker 1 (44:30):
Time we saw Randy Ordi Roads face each other in
a singles match was September second, twenty thirteen, on Monday
Night Raw. In this match, Cody Roads lost to Radio
or In and he was fired in the storyline, and
they are also scheduled to face each other in a
(44:50):
singles match this weekend. Yeah, it's pretty much laid out, man,
like we just saw. We just saw it. We're in
versus Sena not too long ago. And if they didn't
give it to him, then they're not going to give
it to him now. And I don't think we saw
Cody didn't get a rematch for a title.
Speaker 3 (45:13):
Uh, Cody hasn't had a rematch yet.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
Yeah, so yeah, I mean, I guess, I mean, I'm honestly,
I don't really care for it. I really don't care
for Sena Versus Rhodes round two at summertime because I
(45:36):
think they're probably gonna have Cody go over then.
Speaker 3 (45:41):
And mm hmmm.
Speaker 1 (45:42):
It's just so fucking predictably.
Speaker 3 (45:44):
I hate it.
Speaker 6 (45:46):
It's such a match that everybody wants that has no
hype behind it because it's been booked so terribly and
so damn predictably and just so no no hype, no
build up, nothing, nothing, nothing. This is not how people
wanted to see Cody Rose versus Randy Orton. Not both
(46:06):
of them has baby faces at the end of a
King of the Ring tournament where the outcome is like
blatantly obvious, is how it's gonna go.
Speaker 3 (46:17):
Like, this is not how they like this.
Speaker 6 (46:20):
It almost feels like the fucking sound he's paid for
this match, even though I know they did it. It
almost feels like that because what other sense does it
make for this match to happen under these circumstances right now?
None makes no reasonable storytelling sense for this match to
(46:45):
happen like this other than only thing is that just
feels like, damn, we got all these pods happening. We
gotta throw some fucking matches together to make these shits
worth it? All right, big name here and here, somebody
figure out a way to make these two fight each other, Yeah,
(47:06):
and do it.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
Like man like that's more so than anything is. That's
what all this shows.
Speaker 6 (47:15):
It's just as much as we were praising w W
for like long term storytelling and stuff that they were doing,
these matches that we getting have feel like the exact
opposite of that. None of them feel like these are
matches as a result of long term storytelling. You just
(47:36):
feel like, hot shot, quick, get to the next pl
booking of matches.
Speaker 1 (47:41):
Yeah, we're always booking. We're always booking for the next.
Speaker 3 (47:44):
Pl right, and the next pl E is in two weeks,
so hurry up, dude.
Speaker 1 (47:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (47:54):
And really, if somebody would have just had some foresight
or just some real planning, long term play in advance,
these pls being back to back to back like this
wouldn't felt wouldn't probably wouldn't feel so bad if they
were just episodes and ongoing.
Speaker 3 (48:15):
Well told storylines.
Speaker 6 (48:21):
Like imagine if, say, just for example, if there was
like a real deep intense feud between.
Speaker 3 (48:33):
Say Jacob and them and.
Speaker 6 (48:36):
Solo and them over this US title, and instead of
it just now happening at Night of Champions, what if
it had been happening over the.
Speaker 3 (48:43):
Course of the last couple of pls.
Speaker 6 (48:48):
And it's just ongoing at each pl we're getting like
a different match or an iteration of a match. Maybe
the one time we got, you know, Jacob versus Solo
and Solo did take the title off of Jacob Patu
and then another one. You know, then in the midst
of that, some more shit goes down. So next po,
Jacob now got Jimmy with him, and it's Jacob and
(49:10):
Jimmy versus Solo and so and so an other guy's
name at the next one, and then some more shit
happens down. Then at the next pole in another couple
of weeks, now we got Jacob, Jimmy and Jay versus Solo,
new guy and Hiccoleu. Like there was there was a
(49:30):
way that this could have been executed in a way
that could have been more interesting, more compelling.
Speaker 3 (49:36):
And not just felt so hot shot slaps.
Speaker 6 (49:39):
Throw some shit up against the wall to see what sticks, right,
But it feels like nobody had that kind of foresight,
nobody had that really type of thought out planning in advance.
Speaker 3 (49:50):
It was just like, al right, here's the calendar, al right,
get to this one. All right, that was done. All right,
let's get to this one, all right, that was done.
I get to the next one, and the result so
close together.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
Man, it's these p l's are just so close together.
It's just ridiculous how much time wrestling has been taking
up in our lives.
Speaker 3 (50:14):
Yeah, more so how much of the weekends they've been
taking up on these saturdays.
Speaker 1 (50:19):
Yeah, dude, just taking up all of my time. I mean, yeah, this,
this this mess is gonna be good. Don't get me wrong.
It's just it's predictable.
Speaker 3 (50:32):
Oh that's all.
Speaker 1 (50:35):
Cody's gonna win. Period. I want to see a good
r KO. I. I feel like Orton's gonna get the
opportunity to like punt Cody, and he's not gonna do
it because you know, he loves him like a brother,
So he's not gonna do it. And I feel like
that's gonna be his weakness. And then that's when Cody's
gonna give him three crossroads? Will we see three crossroads
(51:00):
to put away? We're in.
Speaker 3 (51:04):
Maybe three in a row, maybe maybe not.
Speaker 1 (51:09):
He's done that though, but.
Speaker 3 (51:10):
We're definitely gonna see three.
Speaker 1 (51:13):
Yeah. I mean, dude, like, if you use your finisher, three.
Speaker 6 (51:19):
We'll probably see at least three in the match. Yeah,
it's just a matter whether it'll be three in a row.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (51:24):
I think he'll get one early Raindow kickout and he
might have to hit two of them to finish them off.
Speaker 1 (51:29):
I want to see a cross Cody Cross. Was that
Cody Cross Cutters that when he jumps off the ropes.
Speaker 3 (51:37):
I want to see Cody Cutter.
Speaker 1 (51:38):
Yeah, Cody cut I want to see that turned into
an RKO somehow. I don't know how it get done.
I just want to see him go for it in
or and just be there to Ah. Okay, I know
it's a little difficult because the way he's turned, but
I'm sure these guys will figure out a nice ARKO
out of nowhere. So m man alright, main event, which
(52:09):
I'm assuming this is the main event. We're getting John
Cena are undisputed w W Champion versus CM Punk. We
had not seen seeing Punk and Johnson a verse each
other for quite some time.
Speaker 3 (52:33):
That's elimination chamber.
Speaker 1 (52:38):
Yeah, I think I'm trying to think of I don't
know what their last.
Speaker 3 (52:44):
Match match was, Probably sometime in the sometime in the
twenty tens.
Speaker 1 (52:50):
Yeah, I mean they they they faced each other. Oh
you know what? Yeah, Okay, World Titles number one contender Contendership.
This is February twenty fifth, twenty thirteen. Yeah, I mean
john Cena, damn those Johnson Sometimes Johnson gets the best
(53:16):
of punk. But Punk is right, I do have your
fucking number. But looking if you're looking at these all
just in a row. You know, between like twenty Wow
dates all the way back from like twenty two thousand
and nine, all the way to like twenty thirteen, they
(53:36):
had singles, matches and johnsona always got the best of punk.
You know, twenty eleven summer are punk? That's that's when
punk was. You know, he he was dominating Sena for
that that small window. But if you really look at it,
the numbers just don't lie. So can we get would
(53:57):
you know? I would love another summer of punk. I
would love it if Punk beat Sena and uh because,
like I said, we also discussed Seth Rollins, money in
the bank, cash in. I mean how great that would
be to see Seth save wrestling and cash in on
either of these guys, but you know, to cash in
(54:19):
on Punk because just the hate he has for Punk,
to take that away from him, I you know that'd
be great. I love Punk, but like just for the
feud alone. But then again, like Sena just chugging on
with this title. You know, we know we would just
(54:40):
discuss how we could see Cody taking him from him.
But you know, could you imagine if Seenea just hold
onto this to the end of the year or whenever
he's about to leave, and you know he goes to
take this title with him. He actually does it, man,
he actually fucking goes the whole year, defeats Cody end.
Speaker 4 (55:00):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
You know that's a wild one, but uh, you know,
about to leave this company, walk out, and then our
savior Messiah, you know, Seth Rollins saves Wrestling and saves
the ww title for being taken. I mean, there's just
so many factors here with both of these guys. I mean,
it doesn't matter who wins.
Speaker 3 (55:21):
I'm happy that will require seeing it to end his
career as a heel.
Speaker 1 (55:26):
And we all know who he's doing that exactly.
Speaker 3 (55:30):
That ship is not happening.
Speaker 6 (55:32):
He until he dropped this title and go away for
a while, and then it'll come back for his baby
face Encore.
Speaker 1 (55:40):
Yep. And you know what there's there, dude, there's sometimes
like I sa I'm laying in bed at night of
standing at the ceiling, and I go, what if this
is all work? Like what if Sina like loses the
title and just like, you know what, I'm not done.
I'm not done. I'm like, no, that's not it, Like
it's really over. I just got to like, you know,
accept it that this is really the retirement tour. You know,
(56:04):
it's just.
Speaker 3 (56:06):
To way too much build up to read on it. Now.
Speaker 1 (56:10):
Yeah, there's the you know, the fourteen year old in
me just screaming like it's not true. It's all the
fucking work.
Speaker 7 (56:20):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (56:21):
I mean, I'm I'm fuxs sake, They're gonna give it
to Scena. As much as I want Punk to to
leave here, I know, dude, Punk is so fucking close. Man,
He's so close. But the roles are reversed this time.
You know, the roles were reversed for Orton and Scene,
and the roles were reversed for Punk and Scena. Like,
(56:43):
I'm so happy he's revisiting some of these feuds because
you know he's having a good time. You know, Scene
is having a good time feuding up with with you know, Orton,
feuding up with our Truth or sorry Ron Killings, you know,
and mixing up again Seampunk. You know, he's enjoying his
last run, revisiting the old feuds, and I'm glad because
(57:05):
this is what I wanted. This is what I wanted.
The other day we got Sam Punk getting put through
a slim gym table and if if you missed it,
go back and watch it on SmackDown A. John Cena
gave his own version of the pipe bomb. If you
(57:26):
you not all of it, but if you hold up
basically the two same speeches word for words, some of
them are pretty fucking close.
Speaker 3 (57:34):
But I do like it.
Speaker 1 (57:35):
Becausina put his own spin on it, you know, basically
making fun of the pipe bomb, and it worked. I
think it was pretty good. I like, you know, he
called out Matt Crodona and like, you know, not even
a few days later, Mat Cordona re and the indie
circuit responded with, you know, hey, Sena, So you know,
(57:58):
I really think if if you want to check it
out and you missed it, watch go back and watch
the original pipe bomb from twenty eleven. Go back and
watch that. Go go back and and by the way, uh,
do you know who won that match? Who who puts
seen it through that table? That was our truth was
it was truth?
Speaker 3 (58:20):
Yeah, I don't remember, I wasn't watching.
Speaker 1 (58:22):
Yeah, yeah, our truth, I believe be John Cena and
put him through a table. And then that's when Punk
came out and gave the pipe bomb. I believe. So
I could be wrong. I have to go watch go
back and rewatch it because it happened so quickly, because
you know it happens so long ago as well. But yeah,
watch both pipe bombs back to back. I think you'd
(58:44):
enjoy them.
Speaker 4 (58:45):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (58:46):
And yes see, it didn't get his mic cut, which
I thought was kind of funny, uh, which made me,
which made punks feel even more realistic, you know, knowing
that pipe his mic got cut. But yeah, what do
you what do you what do you guys say about
this match?
Speaker 3 (59:05):
Straight?
Speaker 1 (59:05):
What do you gotta say?
Speaker 6 (59:07):
We'll say you Scenea's gonna win obviously. Yeah, I don't
know what it's gonna be. It's gonna be a good match,
it's not gonna completely suck. But also, huh, I don't
know what much more there is to say. I know, yeah,
(59:30):
the promo that Scenic Cup was great.
Speaker 3 (59:32):
It was a dope match. I mean, I don't match,
but I mean a dope promo.
Speaker 6 (59:39):
It just kind of makes you wish that we'd have
got this scene it from the very beginning, and then
maybe this hill run would have been a bit more interesting, right,
rather than this I'm gonna ruin wrestling and YadA yadah
blah blah blah blah blah, like I I think the
(01:00:00):
whole I'm gonna There were elements there obviously in his
promos that where he was, you know, speaking some truth
and there was something to latch onto and gravitate towards.
Speaker 3 (01:00:10):
But then they just made it a little too I guess,
a little too much, little too.
Speaker 6 (01:00:17):
K fade like trying to blend, trying to find that
perfect mix between k fabe and reality. You know, things
seem to work best in wrestling now where you can
find that balance. If you lean too far into reality
and it's a little trashy, potentially you leaned a little
too far into k fabe, then it becomes cartoonish. I
(01:00:37):
think Seena leaned a little bit too much in the
KFA direction on his run, and that kind of took
some of the seriousness or took some of the impact
out of it, whereas if he could have been a
little bit more of what we got here in the
pipe bomb where this is a hill Sena and He'll
Sena gives a don't give a fuck about kf He
(01:01:00):
just gonna speak that ship, talk that shit because he's
John fucking Sena, and he stands at the top of
this damn business and he's gonna say whatever the hell
he wants because he's John fucking Sena, and and the
damn thing nobody's gonna do about it because he just
has that level of stroke, he's got that level of influence,
that level of power, and he's in his last year,
so he ain't got ship to fucking lose.
Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
Then this hill run would have been way more interesting
than it has been.
Speaker 6 (01:01:28):
Yeah, I agree, man, So I mean we I guess
we finally got here, but we getting here probably what's
the tail end of his of He'll Sena because I
don't see it going past Summer Slam.
Speaker 1 (01:01:44):
Yeah yeah, I don't know what was for him after
Summer Slam. A break yeah, break right, man, We only
have so many days left to John Cena. He loves
pointing that out to us, which means more were so
fucking real. You know, when he's counting down these fucking dates.
(01:02:05):
And you know, we're over halfway now, we're over the
halfway point.
Speaker 6 (01:02:08):
So yeah, I mean, granted to their credit, they've done
a great job of stretching these days out throughout the year,
because we're a little over half we're about a little
over halfway through the year, and we're about halfway through
his committed dates.
Speaker 3 (01:02:25):
And yet it doesn't feel like he's been like away.
Speaker 6 (01:02:29):
It doesn't feel like Johnson is like taking these long
breaks and just making these sproducts appearances like John Cena
doesn't John Cena. We've had more John Sceena than Roman
Reigns this year. Yeah, think about that. We've gotten way
more John Cena than Roman reigns. And John Sen is
the one that has a limited dates and you know,
(01:02:53):
on his last run. And yet like he's felt as
much about out as much of a regular part of
the show as he has since he you know, made
the turn to Hollywood. I don't think he's gone more
(01:03:14):
than three weeks without being on TV.
Speaker 1 (01:03:20):
Yeah, it seriously feels like a full time run with
Scena right now.
Speaker 6 (01:03:25):
Right even if he's not even though he's not working matches,
it still feels like about as close to a full
time run as we would we could get ye.
Speaker 1 (01:03:36):
Man, take it all in man, because it's gonna be
gone before you know it. And then the next generation
of superstars are gonna start retiring, like Ron Killings will
actually retire, Raindwurton, it's gonna soon retire, Seeing Punk is
going to retire. Like there's just this next wave.
Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:03:56):
I there's not many, you know, like you believe, not
even mid car. There's some mid car guys that are
gonna probably retire seeing that KOFE probably don't have much
time left. The Miz doesn't have much time left, like
guys who've been around for quite some time. Man, Like,
I don't like to think about it, but you know,
whenever rest of the starting.
Speaker 3 (01:04:15):
Are they going to retire or is WW just gonna
fucking release them?
Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
Yeah, that's two different things. You're right, man, that's true.
I don't like to think of it like that. Uh,
but that's yeah. Man. That's that's pretty much it for
Nighted Champions. Six matches this time, given our last one
was four, so this should fill off the car pretty well.
(01:04:39):
One o'clock in the afternoon this Saturday on the twenty eighth.
Speaker 7 (01:05:16):
Oh, it's me, it's me, It's the Doiley And yeah,
I know, last time I said it was gonna be
the last time I had to drop in on you
like this, But to borrow a phrase from a fellow masshole,
the last time is now. I think if I can
read a calendar correctly, which may or may not be
something I'm able to do correctly. Anyway, speaking of mayor
(01:05:39):
may not be, let's get in the plane and head
over to what may or may not be restricted airspace
into what may or may not be a more active
war zone, but what is definitely a country controlled by
a huge piece of ship named MBS. And it's a
Night of champions a six match card featuring two championship matches,
despite the fact that we have four world champions, four
(01:06:03):
mid card champions, and three tag champions.
Speaker 8 (01:06:05):
In fact, the Go Home SmackDown the.
Speaker 7 (01:06:07):
Night before or the afternoon before as it were, has three.
Speaker 8 (01:06:11):
Big championship matches.
Speaker 3 (01:06:13):
Go figure.
Speaker 8 (01:06:16):
But this should be an interesting card.
Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
I guess you know.
Speaker 8 (01:06:21):
These Saudi pay per views can be sort of hit
or miss, but let's.
Speaker 7 (01:06:26):
Just get to it.
Speaker 3 (01:06:26):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (01:06:27):
First of all, we got Sammy Zane versus carrying Cross
carrying Cross.
Speaker 8 (01:06:31):
First, singles pay per view match in several years.
Speaker 7 (01:06:37):
This doesn't really feel like a pay per view match
to me, although I know a lot of people have
been clamoring myself included to get Cross more exposure, so
I can't really complain too much because I'm asking for
more Cross in one hand and complaining about getting it
in the other.
Speaker 3 (01:06:53):
Go figure.
Speaker 7 (01:06:54):
I don't see there's any way that Sammy loses this match,
especially in Saudi. Hopefully he can drag a decent match
out a Cross, which is really a big knock on
him in my estimation. Really like his character work, but man,
just ain't that great in the ring. I'm sorry, not
a death sentence. I mean, hell, one of the biggest
(01:07:17):
stars of all time is The Rock, and newsflash, the
Rock ain't that great in the ring either. Moving on,
we got Ria versus Raquel in a street fight.
Speaker 1 (01:07:30):
Again.
Speaker 7 (01:07:31):
It's almost the exact same thing. I like Raquel a lot,
She's just not that great in the ring. Maybe Rea
can get a decent match out of her. Maybe this
plays anto strength by just you know, maybe this is
just kind of a power move weapon kind of thing.
Speaker 8 (01:07:45):
Who knows, But I don't see any way or loses
this match either.
Speaker 7 (01:07:51):
I don't know if they've made an official announcement. I
don't think so, but I fully expect Roxane Perez will
be named as replacement for Live and they will continue
to be Tag champions. We've definitely seen that president set
in the women's tag division before, so I imagine that
will continue here and then probably a match with the
bell as a evolution, which.
Speaker 8 (01:08:11):
Will stink up the joint.
Speaker 7 (01:08:14):
And god damn it, I hope they don't put the
belts on the bellat ugh, but that's gonna have ourselves.
Speaker 8 (01:08:21):
What's next?
Speaker 7 (01:08:21):
Oh, we got FA two Jacob Fatu versus Solo CoA
for the United States Championship. This is kind of interesting.
I think a couple of things could happen. I think
maybe we get the finally get the debut of Hiccoleo.
Is that his name, Tala Tonga if you will, debuting
(01:08:44):
here to probably cost Jacob the match, if not also
the title. But I think Solo somehow wins this match.
Whether or not he ends up taking.
Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
The title, I'm not sure, but.
Speaker 7 (01:08:58):
It just doesn't seem to be any point of having
this because you.
Speaker 8 (01:09:02):
Know, it feels like a neutral uh neutral.
Speaker 7 (01:09:08):
Field or whatever, Jacob should dog walk, although right he
basically took his job in the Bloodline when that was
a thing if that still isn't there. But I think
Solo is going to get the win here somehow, some way,
probably via interference, either one of the tonguan's coming back
(01:09:30):
or getting a new tongue in or something of that.
ILK second Championship match is old Johnny Cena versus Pepsi
Phil and this is gonna be another probably not so
great match. Sorry, John, I love you, but your matches
(01:09:52):
are not that great anymore, not that they ever really were. Yeah,
there's no way in hell the Punkers taking this one.
I expect the new five Moves Doom, which is nutshot
belt shot.
Speaker 8 (01:10:08):
So seeing it definitely cheats to win here.
Speaker 7 (01:10:10):
I think setting up we'll probably be a match with
Cody at SummerSlam. We'll talk about the men's King of
the Ring tournament here. This makes no sense to me either,
you know, I feel like the King of the Ring
ought to be used to build up somebody, you know,
maybe that's right on the cusp of breaking out or
(01:10:34):
really needs a step up somehow. You know, I'm thinking
like a Sammy's a and somebody like that. But no,
we're gonna put it on either Cody or Randy, and
I just don't see how it could it be anyone
other than Cody. We haven't seen Cody and Randy in
the ring together for over a decade, but I feel like,
you know, I feel like since since Cody's been back,
(01:10:59):
you know, these two getting together was inevitability, especially given
all the history the student teacher kind of aspect to this.
But I kind of feel like this is like a
match that needs like a two month build and a heel.
Speaker 8 (01:11:13):
So maybe we get Randy turning heel. I've kind of
wanted that for a while now.
Speaker 7 (01:11:19):
I think this might be an interesting opportunity to do it.
But you know, we just had seen a turn on Cody.
I guess that's what happens to babyfaces, they get turned on.
Speaker 8 (01:11:30):
So we shall see with that, but I don't think
there's any chance in hell Cody loses. So the queen
of the Ring we got Oscar.
Speaker 3 (01:11:38):
We got Jade.
Speaker 7 (01:11:40):
This is, you know, kind of like what I said
about Jacob and Solo and if just any any normal universe,
Oscar should beat the living dog shit out of Jay.
And she is by far the superior professional wrestler. But
I think they're getting ready to strap the rocket to Jade.
So I think she's gonna take it and will be
(01:12:02):
the Queen of the Ring. And furthermore, I think that
she will win the title of Sama Slam, making her
what the only the seventh black women to be WWE
Women's Champion. Let's see if I can name them all.
Alicia Fox, remember her, Jazz, Jacqueline, Sasha Banks Bianca, and
(01:12:29):
Naomi Six.
Speaker 8 (01:12:31):
Yeah, so I guess Jade would be the seventh. Unless
I'm missing somebody.
Speaker 7 (01:12:35):
Boys, you can somebody google real quick and correct me
if I'm wrong.
Speaker 8 (01:12:40):
I think that wraps up all the matches for uh
Night of Champions. Hopefully next time we speak, I will
be with you in person.
Speaker 7 (01:12:54):
As it stands, I will be hiding from teenagers, most
likely this evening because we have some show with the
venue that I think is teenage centric and I don't
like those sorts of folks. Anyway, I'll see you guys later.
Go Red Sox, fuck Phil, and now back to the show.
Speaker 1 (01:13:18):
All right, let's bring up what happens after Night of Champions,
because we were just talking about how we're not gonna.
I don't think we're gonna do an episode on it,
but I wanted to just bring it up. They're gonna
be doing was it the the Great American Bash? So
that's NXT and they only have the singles NXC Championship
(01:13:45):
match Oba versus Yo Hyoshika. I'm so bad with these names,
but I mean this guy that he's fighting, this this
Japanese wrestler. This this guy looks pretty big. He's two
hundred and sixty five pounds six foot so he's a
(01:14:06):
big man.
Speaker 4 (01:14:08):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:14:09):
Pretty interested in this match. I might tune in to
watch that, But within the same day, we're uh, we
are also getting uh Saturday Night main event later.
Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
That night in a while. That they that they have
in this match is there and he's not. Uh, he's not.
Speaker 6 (01:14:32):
I don't think he's really a NXT or ww signee.
Yeah yeah, yeah, he's signed to Japanese Wrestling Company.
Speaker 3 (01:14:43):
He's just you know, making occasional appearances.
Speaker 1 (01:14:47):
That's interested. And if that's the case to get us interested,
guess what I am, dude, I like this people coming
from other promotions, people I don't know, Like I can't
even pronounce this guy's name. It's embarrassing, Like, there you go.
I'm interested. I want to I want to see this.
(01:15:07):
So NXT always has something, you know, at least one
or two cards on the matchup that are that are
worth checking out, and and every episode we bring it up,
we're kind of bringing up more and more of these
NXT matches that are pretty good that you need to
check out.
Speaker 3 (01:15:22):
So, okay, I've been trying to tell you for the
longest NXT been cooking.
Speaker 1 (01:15:26):
Yeah, well I have been hurt, man, I've been heard
after the Black and Gold and we got the Rainbow NXC,
I was hurt for a bit. So it is I'm
coming back.
Speaker 6 (01:15:35):
You missed out on some Stephanie mccaerr and Juliet greatness.
He missed out on some rock Sampras cooking down there
in NXT. Hell Freaking Carmelo Hayes, Eliot dragon Off had
a banger of a fucking trilogy down at NXT a
few years ago.
Speaker 1 (01:15:52):
Yeah, this new wave of superstars that have coming up
to the main roster, it's like, I do feel like
I missed there. I'm seeing them grow up in n XT.
That's the case, But I really want to put some
some more eyes on n xt checking this out. So
there's only one mass.
Speaker 3 (01:16:11):
Remember remember the last show we told people freaking uh
what was it?
Speaker 4 (01:16:17):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:16:20):
I want am I blinking? Now?
Speaker 6 (01:16:22):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:16:22):
World's Collide was arguably a better show Money in the Bank?
Speaker 1 (01:16:29):
Money in the bank.
Speaker 6 (01:16:29):
Yeah, yeah, it was arguably a better show than the
main event I mean made of it then Money in
the Bank. Arguably, like I think believe I said it
myself that the main event of Worlds Collide.
Speaker 3 (01:16:40):
Which was ship Why am I blanking on now?
Speaker 6 (01:16:46):
L l Ellie Hill VIKINGO versus Chad Gable that was
the match of the weekend for me. Yeah, that was
the match of the weekend.
Speaker 1 (01:16:58):
Putting out some good quality ship man, it's worth tuning into. Yeah,
and uh so we're gonna have those that We're gonna
have that in the morning and then in the evening
we are getting the Saturday main event. And the only
thing we have is is Goldberg versus going there. That's
(01:17:19):
the world title.
Speaker 3 (01:17:20):
That's it. Yeah, Okay, I mean, yep, Grandpa, that's gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (01:17:32):
Yeah, that's gonna happen. Like I mean, I'm just gonna
give you a rundown of Goldberg's official times how long
he's lasted. In the last ten matches he's had Rowan
Reigns six minutes, Bobby Lashley an amazing, astonishing eleven minutes
and twenty five seconds. He thought, Bobby Lashley again seven
(01:17:54):
minutes and twenty seconds, Drew McIntyre two minutes and thirty
two seconds, on Stroman two minutes and thirteen seconds, The Fiend.
If you guys remember the Fiend, Bray Wyatt two minutes
and fifty nine seconds, Dolph Ziggler minute and fifty seconds
the Undertaker. Now give this this is probably all Entrance
(01:18:17):
eight minutes and thirty five seconds. That was in Saudi
awful match, brock Lesnar four minutes and forty to five seconds,
and unfortunately the shortest match he's had, Kevin Owens for
twenty two seconds for the Undie Speeded title. I remember
that Goldberg has been it seems like, you know, most
(01:18:42):
of his few the guys he goes against are faces.
You know, Brock was a face when he versed him,
Taker was a face. Roman Reigns was the Phase Triple
H was somewhat of a face at one point. So
I don't know.
Speaker 9 (01:19:02):
I guess SU's guthro Stephal at the heel in this,
but I'm kind of loving Guther at the moment. Gunther
Texts tweeted the other night, I'm next. Guess I can
spare three minutes and he's not fucking.
Speaker 3 (01:19:17):
That's probably about how long this fucking match is gonna last.
Speaker 6 (01:19:20):
Yeah, but let me I predict we're gonna come back
from I predict we'll come back from commercial at nine
forty six, and we will get Goldberg's entrance at ninety six,
We'll get injured, we'll probably I'm saying it's gonna they're
(01:19:41):
gonna drag it out to make it seem like it's
more than what it really is. I'm gonna say that
probably maybe may I might be giving it to much.
I'm gonna say Gunter's gonna come out for the main event.
I think he's gonna come out first and nine forty five,
make his entrance eight Goldberg's music hits nine fifty two.
(01:20:07):
Whoever the ring announcer is for that night, does the
whole you know, Challenger Champion YadA YadA, YadA, bell rings
at nine fifty four.
Speaker 3 (01:20:17):
Gunter is pinning Goldberg at nine nine.
Speaker 1 (01:20:23):
All right, well, let me let me throw this idea
out to you. I believe that Goldberg's gonna win his
retiring match a Saurnay event. It's gonna be in his hometown,
and ww will most likely give him the feel good
moment in front of his people, that final victory to
close the chapter on his legendary Caurier. Right, But I
(01:20:44):
don't think it ends there. Just when Goldberg is celebrating,
the crowd is chanting his name, the fireworks going off,
that's when Seth Rawlins makes his move to walk out
the money in the bank briefcase in his hands, black
eyes the tired, emotional Goldberg. The crowd will be shocked,
half cheering, half booing as Seth cash is in the
(01:21:07):
briefcase right there in Atlanta, in front of Goldberg's hometown crowd.
It would be the perfect mix of chaos and drama.
Goldberg goes out the winner, but also gets taken out
by the future. Seth Brolins walks aways champion and is crowned.
The crowd will be left fucking happy and stunned.
Speaker 6 (01:21:28):
That would require things to start at nine forty and
that's just not going to happen because they and the
commercials to fit in, we just don't.
Speaker 3 (01:21:47):
Also, yeah, they just don't. They don't have the time.
They got the commercials, you know, advertisers got to get
these spots.
Speaker 4 (01:21:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:21:55):
Also, I don't see.
Speaker 6 (01:22:00):
Seth Rollins and his crew becoming the next top faction
or top heel faction in WWE with him running around
as the world champion. Okay, if it's gonna work, he's
got to be wwee champion.
Speaker 1 (01:22:18):
Okay, I like that.
Speaker 6 (01:22:21):
I mean, I'm sure he's cashing. He's going to cash
in on the w W Championship. He might cash in
on Cody as Summer Slam. Yeah, Cody might beat John
Cena to become champion and then and barely get that win.
Or is he might beat him and then Seth comes
(01:22:42):
out and cashes in on a barely standing Cody and
walks out of Summer Slam as WWE champion.
Speaker 1 (01:22:52):
Yeah. I kind of like the idea of Seth holding
onto the Brie case a little bit longer. Don't get
me wrong. The idea just throughout there was mostly.
Speaker 10 (01:23:00):
For Doyle's excitement, you know, you know, I hope Doyle
likes that idea, the idea of Goldberg. You know, he
beats going through, but he also loses too in his hometown.
Speaker 1 (01:23:13):
I mean, that'd be great. I want to send off
curb stomp him done. Goldberg's done forever. But uh yeah,
so after we get say an event, because that's really
that's all that's on the card right now, that Sunday,
(01:23:34):
July thirteenth, the day after in Atlanta, Georgia. Still we
are getting a second WW evolution. We haven't had one
since October of twenty eighteen, twenty eighteen.
Speaker 11 (01:23:54):
Wow, it's been a while. Man's that's pretty sad that
it's taken this long. My opinion is, I believe.
Speaker 1 (01:24:06):
When evolutions started, I know there was issues with like
certain at the time, they didn't have women's matches over
in in Saudi. And when the first one that they did,
I think was Lacy Evans and Italia, I thought this
would have been perfect for after they go to Saudi,
you know, for all the women to get on the
(01:24:27):
card and pick up a decent paycheck after the guys
we've all been in Saudi. But now that we have,
you know, more women on the roster that can go
over there and have matches. But I'm still I'm still
all for this pay per view. We only have one
match on here so far, j C Jane, the NXC
(01:24:49):
Women's Champion, will be versing Jordan Grace, former TEENA Women's champion.
I absolutely we talked about off air. Absolutely agree that
Jordan Grace is gonna pick up the W for this.
This girl has been in the rumble, she's been all
(01:25:11):
you know. That was when she was in TNA. She
came back twice being on the TENA roster coming over
to WW so she's made a lot of appearances over here.
So they're strapping the rocket to her, putting the title.
Speaker 3 (01:25:26):
Right on that girl.
Speaker 1 (01:25:28):
I'm all for it.
Speaker 3 (01:25:30):
And right now NXT needs the.
Speaker 6 (01:25:34):
They need a strong face of the women's division since
they lost Julia, both Julia and Stephanie Laquerr at the
same time and Roxane Perez, three pillars of the NXT
women's division gone. Yeah, you're absolutely right, Like they got
fucking plucked. Like all they have left now is really
(01:25:56):
Jordan Grace. I would say, Jordan Race, Jada Parker, and
I guess whatever the fuck Briah Mays calling herself now
down there, but she just got there, so she hasn't
really you know, built up much. I mean, and they
have other stars that you know are good. You know,
(01:26:19):
they still got last Legend who's great. They got Saul Roca,
who is phenomenal. I mean, they got the talent there,
but then the star power that they had with Stephanie
vaquer Julia and at Roxane Perez.
Speaker 3 (01:26:35):
Like I said that star power they really got poach starred.
Speaker 1 (01:26:39):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think it'll be good for the
roster absolutely.
Speaker 3 (01:26:50):
M hmm.
Speaker 1 (01:26:53):
Yeah. I mean that's that's pretty much it. That's all
I got. Really, uh we just a bunch of pls
and and what did you say all fair about these pls?
Speaker 6 (01:27:05):
Basically, with all these PL's happening and such quick and
short succession and just one after the other, do the
rwwpls special anymore? You know, there used to be a
time where a PLI was coming and you really look
(01:27:26):
forward to it because you're like, yo, you know, it's
a step up from raw and SmackDown. You're getting major matches,
you're getting culminations of storylines, you're getting you know, special stipulations.
Like shit was different, The set looked different, everything had
a different appearance to it, like back when they were
called pay per views, like they meant something. But now
(01:27:49):
when you got these motherfuckers happening every other damn weeks,
Like the.
Speaker 1 (01:27:54):
Fuck, It definitely does not feel as special anymore.
Speaker 6 (01:27:58):
You're right, Name one match up here that feels special.
I mean, I guess you could say seeing it and
see him punk one last time? Okay, sure, Cody Rose
versus Randy Orton, Okay sure. But outside of that, everything
else on this card could be a raw or SmackDown match.
Speaker 1 (01:28:20):
Absolutely easy. Yeah, they don't. You're right, man, Like we
used to standard pl e's were once a month, the
end of the month. That's how it was. And you know,
even for like somebody like me, who I invite people
over to my house, Like I like having a house
full of people whenever there's a ple But now I
(01:28:40):
feel like I'm annoying people because it's like every it's
gonna be like almost every week where it's like, hey,
we now we have two on Saturday and one on Sundays.
Like what, I'm like, Yeah, do you want to hang
out and watch these pls And like the average wrestling
fans like dah, that's a lot. I'm like yeah, And
like didn't you just have one like two weeks ago
like Audium, Like yeah, and Like wasn't that one? It
(01:29:02):
like one in the fucking afternoon, Like yeah, it's fucking crazy.
Speaker 6 (01:29:10):
Yeah, Like, this ship does not feel special. There's none
of this stuff feels like it has any real stakes
to it or anything, like think about it. Freaking Jay
Husso lost the ww title on I mean lost the
World Headweight Championship on an episode of Raw.
Speaker 3 (01:29:27):
Not a pl eh.
Speaker 6 (01:29:29):
All these fucking PL's they've been having every two to
three weeks and Jay lost the title on Raw?
Speaker 3 (01:29:37):
Yeah the fuck are these pls?
Speaker 6 (01:29:41):
Like they're just weaken episodes of Raw or SmackDown basically
with maybe one or two quote unquote big name matches.
I mean, yes, Money in the Bank is its own
unique beast. That one feels special because it's it's got
(01:30:03):
its own special gimmick. But outside of that, none of
this shit felt special in this entire run that they've
had of these plis for the last however, they been
doing for the last two or three months now, where
they've been like every two or three weeks something a
Saturday Night made event or a pl or something. The
(01:30:25):
only ones to me that have felt special or felt like, Okay,
this is something that like this is a must watch
was Money in the Bank, and honestly, the Triple A
World's Collide, the Triple A NXD Worlds Collide, those are
the only ones that felt like they were they were
must watch, And that Triple A on was because it
(01:30:48):
was the first one. It's the first time we did it,
and it was something unlike all the rest of the shit.
It was something genuinely new, So that felt special. And
like A said, already, Money in the Bank is its
own beasts. The rest of the ship.
Speaker 3 (01:31:06):
Throwaway.
Speaker 1 (01:31:07):
Yeah, yeah, it's just definitely not needed. That's why I
am when to quickly go over what's on the card
thus far. I know we still got a bit, but
like you know, we're not going to come back and
cover all that. Maybe we'll cover all three in a
whole episode. I don't know see who watched what, but
(01:31:31):
oh yeah, whatever, I guess something to watch this Saturday.
Speaker 3 (01:31:37):
So pretty much.
Speaker 6 (01:31:40):
Saturday night, when I get back from this barbecue, I'm
going to I'm like, okay, let me turn on Night
the Champions and see what happened. Yeah, and then I
have to wonder to myself because it's obviously so obvious
and predictable for a lot of shit, Am I really
gonna sit down and like watch it attentively like I
(01:32:04):
would an actual pay per viewer pl where it's like, okay,
ain't nothing else on, no distractions?
Speaker 3 (01:32:09):
You watching the TV and watching the whole thing?
Speaker 6 (01:32:11):
Or am I gonna like, you know, almost like double
speed through this shit like fucking cliff notes?
Speaker 3 (01:32:18):
Yeah, just to be like, am I really interested in this?
I mean anything happened? And okay, you have outcome with
that thought? You know right now, I couldn't tell you
how I'm gonna watch it, right.
Speaker 1 (01:32:32):
Mhm h, Well that's all I got. Man. Do you
want to plug anything?
