Yo?
Speaker 2 (03:02):
What did do? Pc W Crew Maine Evid dre Uso
is back on your podcast, right man?
Speaker 1 (03:10):
You know, I feel like last couple episodes we have
been missing something, something that it's like when a like
when a three man stable, like when one guy's out
he's injured for a long time. We're just we're missing something, right, Well, what.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
The third the third member of demolition.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
We're missing the third man my entire life. Oh my god. Alright, well,
well with that said, let's bring him out here we go. Doyle,
(04:27):
welcome back?
Speaker 5 (04:30):
Oh it's medi it's me answer di O y l E.
And that on the day of his funeral is w
W A Hall of Famer, the Late Great, the Prince
of Darkness Ozzy Osbod. Did anybody else die this week?
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yeah? Yeah, unfortunately this week.
Speaker 5 (04:47):
I don't think last time, I guess.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Yeah, the threes came in last week with Malcolm, Jamal Warner,
Ozzie and Hogan.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
Yep, Hogan, my name sounds familiar now.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
I know that was gonna be a controversial thing to
bring up on this episode. I know it is. I
know it is, and I'm just saying from from I've
said this before. I was always a whole comaniac until
like two thousand and two, two thousand and three, you know,
when he had his last I don't know, championship run
(05:26):
with w W, and when he stepped away and went
to teenage, I was done. I was done to the
whole Camania after that. For me as a kid like
you know, the man aside talking career like he If
it wasn't for hul Cogan, like, I would never have
watched wrestling. I you know that was I remember some
(05:47):
early matches like that that drew me to professional wrestling,
one being Hogan and versus Andrew the Giant Hogan versus
the Ultimate Warrior. You know, it hits everybody a little differently.
If this would have happened like, oh, I don't know,
mid two thousands, it probably would have hit a lot
of other people differently. And you know, we won't get
(06:10):
into it but we know why some people kind of
rolled their eyes at the ten bells salute that we
got on RAWL, SmackDown and NXT.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Oh no, no, we can get into it. Oh man, Yeah,
ain't no point in trying to sugarcoat nothing. I mean,
get to this part of the man's legacy.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
You know, like WW always does whenever any wrestler passes away,
they always put a great tribute video together always. I
don't recall, though, if it was three different tribute videos
or there was just one that was just showing on
all three shows. I didn't see if there even was
a tribute video on NXT. I just saw the ten
(06:52):
bell salute.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Uh yeah, I know he definitely got a different video
for a smack down at RAW. I didn't know they
did it on NX two as well, so I don't
know what video they got he got there.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yeah, I saw. I saw the video on RAW, which
I probably like that one better than SmackDown one. I mean,
the guy has a lot of history to just try
to squeeze into one video, you know what I mean. Like,
we're not talking about somebody who had like a short
run here in the company.
Speaker 5 (07:25):
But I was like, say run, but I mean no
are you could certainly argue not a more important run
than anyone ever had, you know, And how many times
is he on the precipice of the business totally changing,
you know, like uh, you know when he wins the
title in eighty four, he's part of the original WWF
(07:46):
national expansion, you know, and does that happen without him? Man,
maybe it doesn't happen the same way. I don't think so.
I mean, who else could it have been?
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Right?
Speaker 5 (07:55):
And Dusty Dusty was old. Dusty did not look like
a superhero. He was the common man. He was not,
you know, it's larger than life character or or doors
had to look. But he couldn't talk his way out
of a wet paper bag. He didn't have the charisma,
you know. You know superstar Graham was too old, you know.
(08:15):
So I really don't think that he was the right
guy at the right time. And it's just you know,
they say lightning in a bottle and got what happened?
And then you know, the the nWo the heel turn
kicks off the money and I wore, well, I get
the money and I woors had kind of been going
before that, but really amps things up. You know, this
(08:35):
kid was just always you know, even even I feel
like for so much of his career he was tired
and and ad attached or at a date or passed
his prime or whatever, but he was always right at
the forefront, right the forefront, right at the forefront.
Speaker 7 (08:49):
You know.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
Of course, if you're trying to enjoy something that has
no monsters involved in the production of it, somewhere, you
know you're gonna find it. Help with very few things, uh,
to watch because every movie he's got some piece of
ship that worked on it. Every album had some piece
of ship that played bass on one. So you know
what I mean, Like, Uh, you know, I'm just gonna
(09:12):
stop watching The Usual Suspects because Kevin's face is in it.
You know, Kevin's face is a piece of You're gonna
separate the art from the artists. Sometimes wrestling is a
weird fucking thing, right, because you know, if you see uh,
Mark Hamill out at TVs, you're not You're seeing Mark Hampbell.
You're not seeing Rouke Skywalker, you know. But when you
see if you saw hug Hog and the TVs, you're
(09:34):
seeing Hulk Hogan. You're not seeing Terry Bolea. So really
really blurry line there, you know, Yeah, and it's just
it's it's it's yeah. I mean I think all of
us probably we're Hoko Mania it's at one point or
you know. But for me, it was kind of a whole.
Covid is a guy that catches your your eye. You
(09:54):
come for that, but you stay for Roddy Piper and
you know, mister Perfect and Randy Savage and you know,
those kind of guys. For me, anyway, he got me
in the door, but these other guys kept me down right.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Very much. Yeah, very valid. I mean I can't me personally,
I can't say that I was ever really a Hulk
of Maniac. I think, as I've said before on the show,
I grew up more in the n w A, w C,
W Vaane. I mean, of course I was aware of
what was happening in w w F and obviously aware
(10:32):
of Hulk Hogan and you know, liked him, but I
would say they're between that company. At that time. I
think I was probably more into Ultimate Warrior than Hogan
per se.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
But how many time replace Hogan, you know, with Ultimate
Warrior with you know, like so could anyone else has
done it? I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
No, no, And that's the thing about Hogan, Like as
you said, all right and strictly speaking, strictly as from
a wrestling standpoint, and what everybody has said has throughout
the wrestling community is one hundred percent true. Professional wrestling
slash sports entertainment is not where it is today without Hulkogan.
(11:20):
That is undisputable, undeniable fact. Regardless of how anybody feels
about him, It's not here without him. And like you said,
he was the right guy at the right time. He
was the person that Vince McMahan needed to take WWF
national and beyond. He was that guy. Nobody else in
(11:44):
the company could have done it, not not even close,
Not not Savage, not Steamboat, not Junkyard Dog, not Dusty,
not or or not Warrior, nobody. He was him. He
was that guy, and his wrestling legacy is undeniable. He's
Mount Rushmore. He is one of the greatest of all
(12:07):
time period bar none. And like you said, also, he
was at the precipice of all the major changes from
the national expansion of WWF. He may not have sparked
the Monday Night you could argue he sparked the Monday
Night war even though yes, there was a bit of
a rivalry, but WCW wasn't seen as a major competition
(12:28):
to WWF until Hogan and them arrived and elevated it
and then started the nWo and took over and to
jumped ahead of w WF so much so that they
damn near put him out of business. We don't get
the attitude era if not for what Hogan and the
(12:50):
nWo were doing in WCW. They initiated that more reality based,
pseudo reality based wrestling, that more edgier stuff. When WWF
was still trying to be cartoon, he's still trying to
be you know, over the top, character driven. That's that's nWo,
(13:11):
that's Hogan. So he's there at most major points during
the biggest during the growing periods of professional wrestling. That
being said, the damage to his legacy is one self inflicted.
(13:32):
He said what he said, and to think that people
should just ignore that or look past that because he's
passed away is asinine. That's part of his legacy. There
were people who, yes may have been hulkamaniacs, are huge
fans of him as a kid, but then they heard
that tape and they heard him speaking using the N
(13:55):
word with the hard R and yet that damaged his legacy,
that killed him in a lot of people's eyes. That
for a lot of people completely unforgivable, and they are
one hundred percent justified. And whoever feels that way. As
it's been said, there were some people who were out
there who were not out there on raw during the tribute,
(14:17):
most notably I won't say most notably, but notably the
New Day were not out there, and they made their
position clear years ago when they came out that they
was like that. They didn't believe his quote unquote apology,
and for them it was fuck called Kogan.
Speaker 5 (14:35):
Right.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
They have every right to feel that way, just as
any other fan has a right to feel that way.
That I'm not even talking about the politics aspect of it,
because politics is possire. Don't believe what they want. It's
more so about him as a person and who he was,
and even some of the stories that came out about
him as who he was in the business and how
(14:59):
he politics.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
When he said politics, that's what I thought you were
talking about. I didn't even go to politics politics too,
but yeah, I mean, he's the guy that ran it
out Saycey Ventura for wanting to start a union. You know,
like if that had happened, God knows what the businesses
look like today. You know. Uh, he you know, never
wanted to put anybody over. He kept saying he was
going to go in and then you know, like right,
(15:27):
like he his legacy within the business isn't isn't spotless.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Either, exactly. He's the guy who are who people argue
or believe sabotage the star K ninety seven main event
between him and Sting after a year's worth of build up.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
I mean, yeah, the thing wasn't tan enough.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Yeah, yeah, or he didn't think the thing with the
guy and it led to that bosh finish, which ruined
a moment that could have could have arguably been the
nail in the coffin for w w F. Yeah, they
pulled that up. So I mean, yeah, his wrestling legacy, Yeah,
all the accolades and all stuff, but it ain't spotless.
All of that is part of his legacy, and all
(16:11):
of that will be talked about Enzy and analyzed, and
rightfully so, because it is part of him. Nobody leaves
this earth pristine. They got good and bad, and it's
all gonna be talked about, taking in and digested and
people are gonna feel how they feel.
Speaker 5 (16:28):
Right, It's funny you men. You mentioned Malcome Jamaal Warner
and of course are repeated to him as well. But
like we're gonna I mean, maybe not in this podcast, well,
but it's societally, we will have a very similar conversation
when Bill Cosby dies. Uh or at least at least dead.
Exter is an elder millennial as well. Uh, right, And
it's uns of the same thing, you know, like just
(16:49):
that fucking absolutely everywhere in the eighties, like uh and.
Speaker 8 (16:56):
And for a lot of people, like you know, the
Hunstmans were the first kind of like black family they
were friends with, you know, because I came in the
living room and oh, you know, we're not.
Speaker 5 (17:06):
So different And it's stupid that sometimes sit like that
has to happen that way, but that's how it is.
I mean, but it built out fucking everywhere. He'll cos everywhere.
He was on MTV. I think he was in one
of the Gremlins. Two was he And like the movies.
Speaker 8 (17:23):
On the cover of Sports Illustrated, Like this was fucking
huge back then.
Speaker 5 (17:28):
It was exposure to pro wrestling and and brushes at
the mainstream the wrestling had never had before, Like Cyndi
Lauper being involved in that would be like Taylor Swift
today being involved in it. Like he was fucking huge,
like mister t you know, like he was fucking huge,
you know, like this, like he was on the Tonight
Show that was a big deal. You know, like he
(17:51):
was fucking everywhere even today, even today, if he just
stopped people on the streets and name a pro wrestler
you know, I mean, I've been to any pretenta's all.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Yeah, it was not an understatement at all when people
said he would hul Hogan was one of the most
recognizable people on the planets.
Speaker 5 (18:10):
Yeah. I mean, I think I got into wrestling because
of mn TV stuff and because that's the cartoon, watching
the cartoon and maybe want to watch the real thing.
You know, he's kind of fucking everywhere.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
He really couldn't turns an eye to it, because even
people who don't watch, like you say, even people who
don't watch wrestling know who is.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
You know, because he transcended. Yeah, he was probably one
of the first people who really transcended wrestling and became
pop culture.
Speaker 5 (18:45):
Yeah, I mean, like I guarantee Star, I guarantee nobody
knows who Randy Orton is. It turned out a wrestling
or were at some point in their lives, you know
what I mean. Like, he's just not a totally different
stratosphere than uh, you know, and only people really that
the rocking is really the only person that's I would say,
even approached it or maybe maybe all Grade the Giant,
(19:07):
but he can't. He was so much earlier than Internet
and all. You know. I just when did he pass away,
like ninety three or something though, I mean if if
if he had been around throughout the Monday night warrings everything,
maybe you know, but uh, he was just the whole
other level that no one else was.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
That right, And you could arguably show younger people nowadays
a picture of Andre and they'd be like, I have
no idea who that is. But you show younger people
who Coogan, Oh that's all Coogan. Yeah, he's probably ain't
never seen the match of him in his life, ain't
seen ship from him, but they know that's all Coogan. Mhmm,
because you just know who the fuck he is.
Speaker 5 (19:45):
Yeah, I mean, yeah, I mean certain people just becoming
big with us. It's a certain point, you know. They
they're there, They're everywhere. They've always been here and I
always will be here.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
Yeah, right, Like even it still seems weird just saying
it out, like like, yeah, Hulk Hogan is dead. It
seems weird to say.
Speaker 5 (20:09):
No.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
Yeah, I mean it's it's some people just forget that,
like nobody's untouchable. Like, you know, I always think, like
any day, like Ric Flair is going to pass away,
you know, like and I was thinking that for years,
Like any day I want to get a text from
my phone it says Ric Flair has passed away at
the age of so and so, like.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And as big as Rick Flair,
it wasn't wrestling, you know, nowhere near what Hulk Hogan was.
Speaker 5 (20:41):
Nowhere.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
There was a point in wrestling where the two biggest
names were Hulk Hogan and Rick Flair, and the gap
between number one and number two was massive in terms
of it within the pop within the you know, pop
culture space, or.
Speaker 5 (20:57):
Just think, who do you think is Bigger Savage or Flair?
Speaker 1 (21:04):
Claire Flair.
Speaker 5 (21:05):
Yeah, really, I think I think a lot of people
knew him only for that everybody knows, you know everybody.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
Yeah, but I don't. But Savage won his his his
notoriety has diminished in the years since his passing. Slim
Jim Is Selfie's even as big of a name as
it was maybe back in the nineties when Savage was
actively doing those commercials where commercials, yeah he's in the
(21:36):
commercial when he was like actively filming them at the time. Obvious, right, Yeah,
But Rick Flair has become has reached a certain level
of pop culture notoriety to where he is a he
probably has more recognition now outside of wrestling than I
think he ever did when he was an active wrestler,
(22:00):
Like he is media and yeah, with social media and
just pop culture references. I mean, Rick Flair did a
song with the Fucking Migos Rick Flair Trip and like,
and it went viral. Like people know who Rick Flair is.
He they real legit know, Like you see him at
sporting events and stuff like that. You see him plenty
(22:22):
of videos of him just being out and about and
people going up to him and you know, doing the
whoa and this stuff. He is. When he passes, it's
going to be major, It's going to be massive. But
it's not. I don't think it'll be at the level
of Hulk Hogan as far as that, but it may
be probably the only wrestler that could pass right now
(22:47):
who is known primarily for wrestling, whose reach could get
to the level of what Hulk Hogan was, right, And
I'd say that specifically because obviously somebody like a you know,
a God Forbid, the Rock or John Cena or something
like that, they have a certain level of fame outside
of wrestling that would probably get brought up alongside them
(23:10):
being a wrestler that would contribute to, you know, the
impact or the notoriety of their passing. But just a
primarily known professor, primarily or exclusively known professional wrestler who's
passing could reach have as much reach as Hokogan is.
Probably Rick Flair probably the only one right now.
Speaker 5 (23:30):
Here's how I look at it. Who am I going
to get an alert on my phone because they died?
Speaker 2 (23:35):
And yeah, the three.
Speaker 5 (23:36):
Guys are probably the only people maybe sting.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
Maybe maybe I would say maybe four right now, Rick Flair,
the Rock, Johnson and the Stone call Steve Boston.
Speaker 5 (23:47):
Oh yeah, but yeah, I mean, like I like again,
I hate to pick on four Randy. I am gonna
give him some flowers later, I promise. But when he
passes away, if if I mean he's I'm older than
he is, he will probably, but for some reason he
does not.
Speaker 4 (24:05):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (24:05):
I don't think I'm going to get ap on her
that he has passed away like I did pass or
I will when her. You know. That's all I'm saying.
M hmm. Nobody else is in that league.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
You probably get one in Vincent passes away, but you'll
probably get an alert if Vince McMahon passes away. I mean,
he was just in a car.
Speaker 5 (24:29):
Accident of the day.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
Your man is still alive. But yeah, I'm sure we'll
all get a message, you know that vincenness.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
I think Vince is gonna live to be one hundred
and seven, Yeah, didn't.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
He's like mom was his mom and his grandmother like
really old since they lived to be over on it,
like I recall, Yeah, like his mom was pretty damn old. Anyway,
let's let's let's lighten up the mood here, guys. Summer Slam.
(25:07):
It's going to be held in uh MetLife Stadium and
East Ruther.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
Yeah, the New York Giants home field.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
I'm curious to know.
Speaker 5 (25:23):
Here's a joke you can use because we drake, because
we both fucking hate the New York sports or football teams. Anyway,
I hope you put that ring right on a fifty
yard line on the Jets logo, because that's just close
to the Jets are ever going to would be to
a ring and you can. Of course I hate the
(25:43):
New York Football Giants also, but for obvious reasons. I think.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
I think they can hit over thirty thousand there, thirty
three thousand, probably more. Try to see how I mean
they can fit in met life. I guess it's all
you know, different.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Fifty plus.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Yeah, so they're.
Speaker 5 (26:06):
Gonna yeah, but it depends on how big.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
How big is the Yeah, I'm expecting.
Speaker 5 (26:13):
Them to be like, let me try to full up
ticket and right quick.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
I'm expecting them to tell us that they've you know,
we had a grand total of one hundred and you know,
five million or five thousand people here. I mean, you know, just.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Okay, it has a capacity of eighty two thousand, five hundred.
I don't think they're going to get that SummerSlam. Yeah,
that's like maximum capacities.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
I like that fifty thousand that's probably more accurate.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
Yeah, So, I mean depends on how they set it up.
I mean you could probably cut off at least a
corner of the of one of the ends of one
of the end zones. So that's going to be the
stage and backstage and all that set up. So I
think that still allows for potentially, yeah, arguably fifty.
Speaker 5 (27:02):
Plus updated three days ago. According to wrestle Ticks, the
current setup allows for forty a little over forty five
thousand people. They've sold forty two thousand for Night one
and almost the current set up for Night two is
larger forty seven plus thousand, and then it sold almost.
Speaker 9 (27:22):
Forty five for Night two Sunday according to wrestles So,
I mean that's that's over ninety for both nights.
Speaker 5 (27:33):
That's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
That's more than WrestleMania was last year when we were there.
Speaker 10 (27:37):
Yep, you I practice, well, that's damn sure.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
I'm not going to discourage them from continuing this next year.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Yeah and keep it going. I mean, to be honest, guys,
we are enough for sure.
Speaker 5 (27:58):
We're getting in two day summer sun next share right
where it is Minnesota. Maybe wasn't that their Booby Prize
for getting screwed out.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Of Yeah, you know it is. It isn't in Minnesota
next year August first and second effect was it next
year is announced first before this year?
Speaker 5 (28:18):
Yes, so they got they got screwed out of WrestleMania,
so they get the first uh two nights Summer Slam,
and then they got.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
That right, yeah, that stolen from him for this year.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
I mean, this doesn't feel like a as big as WrestleMania.
It definitely doesn't. No, I think the main reason.
Speaker 5 (28:42):
At this feels so weird.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
I don't know why, because it's been crammed together in
the last fucking three weeks.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Right, we're so accustomed to illmint.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Break, real break between ples that we've had in a while,
because we were just speed dating pols throughout June and July,
and then now they took off three weeks to try
to build up for Summer Slam. That's why I don't
feel like a big deal. We totally forgot about the
King and the Queen of the Ring getting these matches
at SummerSlam because other ship was going.
Speaker 11 (29:19):
Right.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
We heard a word about Cody being the fact that
he's King of the Ring. Since the week after King
of the Ring, and that's the whole reason why he's
challenging Sena at SummerSlam. Jade Cargillen and Tiffany Stratton not
a word about her being Queen of the Ring other
than her crowd and her promos.
Speaker 5 (29:40):
Neither they even had the common decency to do a
king gimmick for a couple of weeks.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
Yeah, you guys think WrestleMania, we normally have, you know,
the rumble elimination chamber. We have a good build all
the day.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
And that's what they constantly say, that person the Royal
Rumble Winner, Royal Rumble Winner Jay Us or Royal Rumble
Winner Charlie Flair.
Speaker 5 (30:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
Yeah, they did not say King of the Ring Cody Rose,
Queen of the Ring Jay Cargo, none of that. They
didn't reinforce it or remind us of why this is happening.
It's just like, here's the other match, here's the few,
there's the beat. Okay, see you there.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Yeah, sometimes you have to remind yourself of how they
even fucking got the title shot to begin with. It's like,
oh crap, that's right, one King of the Ring, Queen
the Ring a couple weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Yep, howd rear Ripley get her title shot, came out
there and said she wanted it. They were like, Okay,
I don't feel like a big deal because none of
the ship has any hyper build up. Really, yeah, I
don't like each other. This month I fight it's something Slam.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
So like what next year we're gonna get like promos
of like I'm going to main event Summer Slam just
to don't sound as good on the tongue as I'm
going to remain invent wrestle Menia.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
Maybe if it gets a better build up next year
and they actually learned from this bullshit they pulled and
actually give it proper build up, then it might mean something.
I mean, Summer Slam in the past has always felt
like a big deal. Yeah, it's Summer Slam. I let's go.
Speaker 5 (31:21):
I mean Summertime was at Wemblake Stadium once year talking
about that and that was like ninety thousand or whatever.
Maybe that's just stretch. That was like seventy something thousand.
Maybe I don't remember.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
Well, no, it was that because I was Yeah, it
was the biggest wrestling event ever I think prior to
a w's mm hmm, what I mean here we are.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Yeah, here we are two nights in a row. It's
actually starting at six o'clock Eastern, so hopefully it's done
by plus ten yeah, right? Or is it nine?
Speaker 2 (32:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (32:03):
Yeah, it'll go late with six matches earlier.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
It just means more commercials.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
I mean, we're accustomed to these pay per views. Were
accustomed to five matches, four or five matches. Now we
got six per night, you.
Speaker 5 (32:19):
Know, and evolved for all our revolution Rather speaking of
pay per view overload, right, that seemed that what was
at a seven match card six to seven matches, and
they can do it because that's at a decent pace
to it. It wasn't too long. Match has got time,
(32:43):
so they can do it if they want to. They
just choose to instead have twenty minutes to clean matches
with these things.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
They choose ad revenue over match time.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
Boy did they choose ad revenue like a motherfucker.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
But then there's also the flip side. If this was
aw all, twelve of these matches would be happening and
got one right, it'll be starting at seven o'clock and
going till three in the fucking morning.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
Damn. Yeah, we don't need that. It's bad enough. I
gotta step late from Moday night row let alone pl
e's so let's let's get into this. There's a lot
of media to chew. Uh first match on night one,
which is the second August second we're starting. I'm just
(33:35):
gonna go in order that they present them here. Probably
not how it's gonna go.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
They have the first match on the cars Tiffany Stratton,
who's your w W Women's Champion. She's gonna be versing
the Queen of the Ring, Jade Cargill in a singles match.
I mean, I'm pretty sure this is pretty just gonna
cut clean match and Jade's walking away wom sad if
(34:04):
Tiffy time is over. Like as much as I like
Tiffany Tiffany Stratton, I I think it's fucking Jade's turn.
And it's funny because we were assuming maybe Naomi would
have been tied into this or Bianca by Summer Slam
somehow someway one of the three, but nope, money in
(34:26):
the bank briefcase has already gone. It's already Uh, she's
already got a title on another show. So there's a
chance we could see Naomi and Jade leaving Summer slam
with gold uh leaving Bianca help. I'm here for that too, man, Yeah,
(34:50):
I mean I I just think it's pretty simple here.
It's it's gonna be Jade. I'd be very shocked if
Tiffany walked out. Dre You do you agree?
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Yeah, I'm pretty much in agreement. Tiffany Stratton. Her title
reign has been pretty mediocre and it's been surprisingly long.
I mean, she cashed in that briefcase that wasn't that
last year or at the very beginning of this year,
(35:20):
because she cashed it in on on Nya Jacks when
Tiffy was miss money in the banking?
Speaker 5 (35:29):
Wasn't it wasn't it the first raw on Netflix.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
It had to have been on a SmackDown. I don't
think it was on the on the Netflix raw. But
she's had that title for a while now, for a
good while because, like I said, because obviously she defended
it at WrestleMania. It was okay. It was at the
(35:55):
very beginning of this year January, third episode of SmackDown. Right,
it feels so long ago, but her title reign has
it hasn't been bad, but it hasn't really been all
of that memorable either. She's had some good matches, but
(36:18):
I mean outside of her you know, clusterfuck of a
feud with Charlotte Flair going into WrestleMania, what else about
her title run has been memorable? I would say the
cash has been memorable because it shocked everybody, and the
like I said, clusterfuck of a feud she had with
Charlotte going into WrestleMania was memorable, but not memorable for
(36:40):
good for good reasons. It was memorable because it was
a mess going in there, and then in the match
itself Charlotte beat the living shit out of her and
then lost. But other than that, eh, And I still
feel like Tiffy's character doesn't match the reception she's getting.
Her music hits, she gets a pop, but then she
(37:03):
starts talking and interacting and she comes off like a heel.
So yeah, I think Jade's clearly going to win. Tiffany
Stratton probably, I think she. I think Tiffy will probably
be better served as a heel, whether it happens or
(37:25):
not as TBD, but definitely that the ww Women's Championship
needs some fresh hands on it and some fresh feuds,
and that can only happen with Jay Cargill. I would
not rule out Bianca bell there possibly showing up in
some way, shape or form. I don't know that she
would help j Cargill win, because I don't think Jay
Cargill is going to need it. But if they want
(37:47):
to set up something post SummerSlam, maybe set up Jade's
first feud or what have you, I don't think it
would be with Bianca, but something I wouldn't. I just
can't see Bianca not appearing at all on either night
of SummerSlam in no way, shape or form. So I
wouldn't rule her out showing up here, even if it's
just to celebrate with Jade after or something.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
Actually it's not that idea. I kind of like that
idea too, Doyle, what are your thoughts?
Speaker 5 (38:23):
Beyonca was already a guest referee, right.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
Yeah, she was the guest referee for not not nothing
Jake Cargo related evolution the the Naomi no no, no no,
that nailed my head. Yeah yeah it was j Cargo.
Speaker 1 (38:41):
Matt was like a street fight, right yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:45):
Bioncle was the guest special guest referee all right, because
I was.
Speaker 5 (38:48):
Thinking he was a guest referee and the Wayman's triple threat.
But I guess when you said, when you said that
she wasn't on the card at all. Anyway, I'm sorry.
I think you're absolutely right about Tiffany's Tyler ring and
being kind of so so, not really her fault. I
(39:10):
don't think. I don't think she's done anything wrong per se.
The matches have been pretty good, she's been Yeah, besides
that Charlotte stuff, hasn't really been given much to work with. Yeah,
thrown together last second. You know, a few the STI
stratus we should have, you know, had some meat on
the bone if they've given it a couple a week
or two more, you know. But I think the fact
(39:33):
of the matter is she's going to be a eight
time champion. You know, she'll be around for the next ten,
twelve years or whatever. So whatever, her future is so bright,
she's gonna wear shades, you know. I think. Yeah, I
think we're all agreement that Jade's gonna take it. I
think they've been just waiting for the right minute to
pull the trigger on her. They want to make her
(39:54):
a star. I mean, she looks like a star. Hopefully
she can string together a couple of good matches in
a row. Here, Uh, everybody should be seen. I think
we might be reaching her feeling like how much better
realistically is she gonna get?
Speaker 1 (40:12):
You know?
Speaker 5 (40:13):
Uh, there's there'll be a question going forward, but I
think I like the idea of her being one champ
and Naomi being the other champ. Maybe if there's a
draft coming up, maybe Bianca who's petitioning to be on
one brand to the other.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (40:31):
Yeah, yeah, well I wonder how Bianca would fit into either.
I guess I guess there would be this one because
it's her, this is the brand. No is this the
Raw title or the SmackDown title?
Speaker 2 (40:43):
And on sack Down?
Speaker 5 (40:45):
Okay, so I guess you would be interfering with this one.
They can't keep track of this shit anymore.
Speaker 12 (40:51):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (40:52):
Yeah, I think we're all agreement. I think Jade takes
this one.
Speaker 2 (40:57):
Right awesome and honestly, and I not, this ain't gonna still,
This ain't gonna be matching the Night or nothing. But
I bet this is actually gonna be a surprisingly good match.
Right you've been watching If if folks have been watching
Jade the last couple of weeks, she's got a little
string together with some really good quality clean matches over
(41:19):
the last couple of weeks about a month going now,
so she could be poised for a really good title
run if if she's finally really like put together in
the ring.
Speaker 5 (41:30):
Right, yeah, I love to got it together.
Speaker 1 (41:33):
I mean, I feel like she's come pretty far since
she's debuting WWE, you know, definitely, so I think now
she should get her flat.
Speaker 5 (41:43):
She's a person I like is really hurt by the
lack of out shows anymore, right, you know, Like I
feel like if she was out doing a match in
front of an actual audience three times a week, I
think her progress would be much speedier. You know, you
can you can work all you want at the PC.
You know, that's all well and good.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
It's but it's just the.
Speaker 5 (42:03):
Same as you can go to ballet practice it hit
but you know, boom boom boom, But when you get
in the game, if you can't hit the ball, work
the goddamn well good are you? You know, and working
out at the PC is just isn't the same as
you know, ten thousand people in a tiny little arena,
you know, on top of your scream and yelling and whatever.
(42:24):
And I think like a person like her, really really
misses out by not having the household anymore as well
as you know people in markets like Dre's where they
never seem to go anymore.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
But well that being said, they're coming here in September.
All right, there you go again. After three years.
Speaker 5 (42:42):
You prayed for this to happen, and it haunted.
Speaker 2 (42:45):
Right, I prayed for this that it happened. I just
need to get my damn ticket.
Speaker 1 (42:54):
Next on the card. This is actually one that might change.
This one is ran Orton teaming with jelly Roll versus
Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul. And the reason why this
might change is Drew McIntyre is stuck overseas without his passport.
He went home for a wedding and I believe he
(43:17):
does not have his passport to come back, so that
could change. I saw it posted on his social media
the other day. There's rumors of who would fill the
role this talks and maybe the miz filling it, And
(43:40):
you know, I just I just think at the end
of the day, doesn't matter who was in it. I
think Randy Orton and Jelly Roll are going over with
the win here. I mean obvious, right, I mean jelly
Roll is gonna finish him with a choke slam and
Orton's gonna arcoe somebody and right right, pretty simple.
Speaker 2 (44:04):
Jelly rowling getting this match to take a pin, yeah,
or like a hard stupid really why why are we
doing this? Maybe Jelly is taking the pin maybe.
Speaker 1 (44:16):
Maybe by logan Paul if anybody, Ah, why are.
Speaker 4 (44:22):
We doing the like this?
Speaker 5 (44:24):
What are we doing here? Like what are we doing?
Speaker 13 (44:29):
There is no like this really uh strange credruelty, you know,
like there is no fucking way that this fat tub
of ship has any chance of help, you know, even
if it's partner with Ai Whiton, like like if you
want to h have anything.
Speaker 5 (44:46):
Resembling uh realistic whatsoever?
Speaker 14 (44:49):
You know, like and I'm sorry just the same reason
I had such a problem with tat mography going right
down to tell a duntre like that like this should
not have like like this makes the wrestl It's a
fucking stupid if they have to sell Jelly rolls fucking bullshit,
you know, like, I'm.
Speaker 5 (45:07):
Sorry, this this may like and I and I just
got saying that, like the Dyers inclusion and who turn
of the things that got me watching. I understand that
I understand why we have celebrities in there. But you know,
if Logan Paul has turned himself in as an athlete
and turned himself into an actually competent wrestler, and I
(45:28):
would even say, fucking uh, who's a rapper, not Travis Scott.
The the other way funny, he actually goes out and
can put together Like now the jelly Roll has been
working out at the PC. Great, but like, honestly, I
can't believe the poor drumacattire for his trouble, for having
(45:49):
a live at Heathrow Airport for a week. It's to
come home to fucking job to jelly Roll, like, but yeah,
I mean it's a baby, say just have to go
over here, I think, but yeah, this this might be
one where I actually I'll be working, so I'll just
(46:10):
I'll be able to fast forward to that's good.
Speaker 1 (46:14):
Do you think he is one of his own theme
songs as an entrance? What do you think? Do you
think Jelly Roll uses one of his own songs as
his theme song entrance?
Speaker 2 (46:25):
Definitely, yeah, he uses one of his songs. Travis Scott
made us listen to fiend Tim I'll never.
Speaker 1 (46:33):
Get back my god, damn. Do you you know what
I heard that song over the weekend.
Speaker 5 (46:39):
I heard I heard it the other almost a fucking.
Speaker 1 (46:44):
Yeah, dude exactly. I just that's exactly what it has
PTSD ship and I'm just thinking of theme theme just
over in my head over.
Speaker 5 (46:52):
And I was like, fuck, this song fuddly enough. He
I think is the jelly Roll. I think is a
replacement celebrity involvement to Travis Scott was supposed to be.
Apparently that relationship is dried up because he is the
flaky as fuck, like he was supposed to show up
to this and that, you know, do this about it,
and he never shows up or he comes real late
(47:14):
or he just know. So I guess I guess they
ended that relationship, which is unfortunate because why do we
even have it?
Speaker 2 (47:22):
Right?
Speaker 5 (47:23):
Did you guys hear Drew McIntire, do you hear ranting
about it? Yeah? Mm hmm yeah, sentiment exactly.
Speaker 2 (47:34):
All I'll say about this match, Doyle is you are
so gonna eat crow. When fucking jelly Roll hits that
five star frog splash off the top, he.
Speaker 5 (47:45):
Does a frankensteiner.
Speaker 2 (47:48):
Uh huh yeah, yep. When he when he Randy gives
him the hot tag for the comeback, and he come
and starts serving over He and Rod is to everybody,
you just remember.
Speaker 5 (48:01):
Hey earthquake, big earthquake a drop kick? So I guess
how fucking andres is your drop kick? I think to
anything possible? I suppose.
Speaker 2 (48:13):
Yep, they watched that that crowd reaction where he go
up top of that shooting star press boy.
Speaker 1 (48:26):
Yeah all right, Uh, let's move on here to Gunther
World Heavyweight Champion versus c M Punk, who is getting
another title shot. Didn't succeed with beating Sina, got screwed
(48:51):
over there, sucked and they now have him over here.
Uh but I did see pictures released today during the
new WW unscripted show that they originally had Gunther versus
Seampunk penciled for WrestleMania originally. So this looks like a
(49:12):
match that they've been wanting to do for a while.
Speaker 2 (49:18):
Now.
Speaker 1 (49:18):
The big question is is this punk finally get his
win and finally, you know, after putting in the time
and coming back as you finally get the gold. I
would love to have seen him picked up the WW championship.
That would have meant more to me than him winning
(49:39):
the world title. He is a former world heavyweight champion himself.
But I want it so bad, guys, I'm believing the
Punk hype. I want it so bad, Like this man
just has gotten so close to the brass ring all
since he's been back and just hasn't gotten it. He's
(50:02):
just been screwed out of it time and time again.
And you know, the rumors, I'm not believing in the rumors,
the rumors going around that Seth really isn't injured. You
know that Seth is going to Punk's gonna win the title,
and Seth's gonna cash in and take it right from him,
(50:22):
you know, because that would be the most Seth Rollins
thing to do, right, you know, taking it from Standpunk,
not letting him enjoy that world title win, or even
just inserting himself into the match towards the end and
taking it anyway, not let Punk even get the opportunity
to win it. But for booking purposes, I mean, I
(50:44):
know Punk is hot right now as a babyface, and
I know we don't have a lot of babyfaces in
the company as much as we used to. It's just
more and more heels and next to you know, Tody Roose.
I think Punk's right up there with being the next
big baby facing the company right now or one of
(51:07):
But to think of the accomplishment it would be for
Gunter to get a w over Sampunk. This guy spent
almost eighty percent of his career with a bell around
his waist, so I think that would be a huge
(51:27):
win for him putty Punk down. But I'm sorry, guys,
I'm believing in the hype. I'm sucked into it. I
think this has to be it for Punk, right I'm
thinking Punk wins it here. Finally, I don't suspect something
fishy to happen. I expect it to be a clean match.
(51:48):
I mean, I never thought i'd see Gunter tap out
to fucking jay Uso, but we had it, so yeah,
for me, it's Punk. I'm all in.
Speaker 2 (52:02):
Trey Leaf can be a powerful thing. It can have
you thinking things are going to happen that are more
than likely not going to happen. That's the case here
(52:22):
because I do not think seam Punk is going to win.
I don't think he's going to win because of seth Rawlins,
but not because seth Rollins is going to cost him
the title. I think seem Punk is not going to
win because of Seth Rollins because I think there has
(52:43):
probably been a change of plans due to Seth Rawlins's injury.
I genuinely think that the original plan was probably for
Punk to win at SummerSlam and immediately get cashed in
on by Seth Rollins and get screwed. I think that
was probably the working plan, But I also think Seth
Brobins may have a legitimate injury and as a result
(53:07):
of that, they can't execute that plan, and I think
because of that, I think They're going to keep the
title on Gunter a little bit longer and let his
title run go a little longer and add a more
prestige to it with a win overseeing Punk, cause the
biggest problem with Gunster's first run as champion wasn't so
(53:31):
much the quality of the matches that he was having,
is more so the quality of opponents he was facing.
He wasn't facing the top dogs, the top names in
the company. He was facing a bunch of next guy
ups and beating them. And I think in this run,
I think if they really want to establish him as
(53:51):
a top heel for the long term moving forward, then
he's got to get some wins over some top names
now The one thing that could maybe deter that is
if is if the creative in them have maybe lost
some faith in Gunter. If maybe they're thinking, Damn, he's
(54:12):
great in the ring. Damn, we've been putting all those
vestments in him as a champion and putting these belts
on him. But maybe he just ain't quite got it
to be at the top yet, and maybe that might
cause him to take the tidle off of him right now.
But I don't I don't believe they're there yet. I
think they're gonna. I think he's going to win and
(54:33):
continue on and start to have some fuse with real
top names, starting with Punk, and maybe him and Punk
have a rematch down the line and run it back,
or he gets into it with somebody else. But I'm
(54:53):
sorry seeing Punk ain't walking out as champion at this
summer Slam. Money's on guns retain.
Speaker 1 (55:05):
All right, Doyle, let's hear it.
Speaker 5 (55:08):
Well, it occurred to me that before I talk about
Phil and Gunther, I promised to be mister Randall Keith Orton.
I would give him some flowers, and I forgot to
do that so real quick. Despite the fact that Randy
Orton has not competed in SummerSlam in four years. This
will be his record at seventeenth SummerSlam appearance. Does anyone
(55:31):
know whom he was tied VIDs at sixteen for the
last four years.
Speaker 2 (55:37):
So the SummerSlam appearances, yes, hm M triple h.
Speaker 5 (55:44):
Good guess. But now.
Speaker 2 (55:50):
I'd be one of the moldfuckers that's been around enough
to have that media appearances.
Speaker 5 (55:54):
Yeah, all right, exactly, just a little little kidmit I
picked up.
Speaker 2 (55:59):
I meant to say.
Speaker 5 (56:00):
Anyway, Wayne, and I almost agree with everything that you said,
right up until you said that you thought Phil was
gonna win. I do think, I do think he's going
to win the world title, but I do think it
should be a more than a you know, rough job
(56:22):
on a three week build for or even however many
week two week builds. And it should be for the
WWE Universal Undisputed Galectic whatever the hell they call it.
I think how champions and not the World heavyweight title. Uh.
And I don't think the gump there. You know he's
(56:42):
lost in the last two r s as uh. He's
still getting even though he has Winn Bennison j he's
still getting you tapped out chance. And I think putting
down see him as some were saying, it would be
a big feather in his cap and uh, even though
he's been you know, so dominant, he kind of needs it.
(57:03):
And I think Phil will be just fine. Uh if
he goes another couple of months and has to wait
to WrestleMania or whenever they end up doing.
Speaker 15 (57:11):
That, I'm sure they will, uh you know, as me,
he doesn't punch out in a coworker in the back
or uh, he seems like he's been une fessed behavior
but what everybody stands.
Speaker 5 (57:23):
But we'll see. But yeah, I think I think aunt
there will retain because I just I think that I
think they're going to give a better story than what
this is for him.
Speaker 2 (57:36):
Yeah that's another thing about this too, Like this is
a match that's happening, but really ain't got a lot
of build up or hype behind it. So Phil, you know,
the Punk winning would just be great because okay, Punk's
folly a champion again. But yeah, and then you're right.
Speaker 5 (57:59):
Yeah when rumble and do that two month feud thing
and then finally conquer whoever. You know, he needs a story,
bigger story, Yeah, he needs a bigger story.
Speaker 2 (58:09):
Yeah, there's not really much of a story here. Now,
how did he even how did he even get? Oh yeah,
he won that damn stupid ass gauntlet match, right right.
Speaker 5 (58:20):
But but but to your point, I think that if
the Rollins injury is legitimate, it totally fucked photography. They
had to come back from the drawing board on a
lot of things. I think I think they probably couldn't
move a lot of parts around, right, But I mean
a lot of speculation that is a work who knows,
(58:41):
uh it has been It has been handled bizarrely, uh,
you know, because they haven't provided any updates. You know,
there's there's usually a if they're going to talk about it,
it's it's, oh, you know, here I am with the doctor.
I'm about to get an m R. You know, And
they haven't done any of that. But they're keep talking
about him. So I don't know, Uh, he does have
(59:04):
to Like June, I think he was the briefcase. So
I mean, he could honestly have knee surgery, rehabit and
be back and still have two months of cash in
the briefcase, you know, but let's see what happens.
Speaker 2 (59:22):
Yeah, I mean, And Paul Haman made a very explicit
point about that, but you know, yeah, Seth Rollins has
until what June of twenty twenty six to cash that
damn thing in.
Speaker 5 (59:34):
Yeah, I mean I tend to think that it's a
legit injury.
Speaker 2 (59:38):
But yes, I'm of the same mindset, which has created
a bit of an interesting dynamic in that faction, which
we can touch on later.
Speaker 1 (59:50):
Sure shut shut all right, guys. Next on the list
here we have the Judgment Day are Cal Rodriguez and
Rock San Perez versus Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Uh
for the w W Women's Tag Team Championship. Uh. You know,
(01:00:14):
I'm kind of going down the route for this pl they.
I feel like Judgment Day is gonna lose all the gold.
I feel like maybe this is where they implode, and
I feel like they've.
Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
Lose all the world. They can't well lose all the
goal when the world tag team titles aren't being defended.
Speaker 1 (01:00:36):
Oh yeah, well.
Speaker 2 (01:00:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
I was just like looking at the car, like, wait,
you're right fucking it. Well, I I feel like this
would be a good time for them to lose the
women's tag titles because Live will come back and like
where the titles? Oh, well, we lost them. While you
were gone? Who lost the rock? Sand took the Pin?
(01:01:05):
But like they've been building Charlotte and Alexa Bliss as
a tag team for a while and a tag team
that I'm starting to like and a couple other people are.
And if they didn't pull the trigger with them at Evolution,
I feel like it's because they were saving it for SummerSlam.
I think it's gonna help definitely move some merch, because
(01:01:27):
that's always like their main goal, right is moving merch.
That's why I think in some of these matches, that's
why some of these people win, because they sell the
most amount of merch. You know, the company's just trying
to make more money. I mean, it's I don't know
if it's working getting Charlotte Flair over as a face
(01:01:50):
with Alexa Bliss. I'm just glad Charlotte's is not in
the main event title scene right now, so to help
have her and Alexa blisz elevate the tag tipitles, go
for it. You know, Esn't Day has kept them the
tag women's tag TLEs kind of relevant. I thought they
were kind of screwed after Live left, and you know,
(01:02:12):
we all kind of predicted that Roxanne would take over,
and she did, but they they've made it kind of
interesting and I've been surprised that they were able to
retain them for so long. But I think this is
where it ends, so.
Speaker 2 (01:02:27):
Dre Yes, they're definitely. I think they're definitely going to
lose the Hot Potato Tag Team Championship because one, they
hadn't done much with it, just like anybody else. And two,
Charlotte and Alexa have a more interesting thing going right now. Like, honestly,
(01:02:53):
right now, Charlotte being paired up with Alexa Bliss is
probably the best thing that could have happened to her.
And being taken out of the main event picture that
she always seems to just be forced in just because
she's Charlotte Flair. Her taking a step back and doing
something else outside of that, Like you said, it's made
(01:03:14):
her likable. Like even I right now, who's probably dunked
on Charlotte Flair more than anybody else on this podcast,
even I like Charlotte right now in this position where
she's at, she's more interesting, she is more likable. I'm
not saying alexas doing it to her, but her and
Alexa's dynamic is interesting. It's entertaining as opposed to Charlotte
(01:03:40):
just be like, I'm Charlotte Flair. Give me my title match,
because I am Charlotte Flair. And even with this dynamic
with Alexa, she can she can still flex a little
bit of that you know status or you know arrogance
a little bit, but it come it doesn't come off
in a negative way like she did when she said
(01:04:01):
she got them a title match, and she was like
when they had her and Alexa had one segment and
Charlotte was like, I want him to Adam Piercer nick
Oles said I want him to him and asked them
for a title shot. The Lex was like, so you
just walked up to him and asked for a title
shot and got He's like she was like, yeah, Charlotte Flair.
Of course She's like, oh okay. And it came off
(01:04:22):
as like nuanced and smart and witty and funny and
that like it worked, so yeah, absolutely run with this,
keep it going, put the titles on them and let
him cook m and yeah, it'll be funny when they
come back. And Roxanne should probably should be the one
(01:04:43):
to take the pen right so that way when they
come back from you know when Live Morgan comes back
from injury, she can be like, what the fuck happened
to our tag team titles? And Raquel can go rox
Sanne lost them.
Speaker 1 (01:04:57):
Yep, I think that'd be the right way to go
about it. Man, I don't see any other way to
go about it, Ah, unless Doyle has something.
Speaker 5 (01:05:10):
Well, here's the thing. I don't think Live's counting back
for a little while. I think she's done for a
couple of months. So it's not like, uh, you know,
when she comes back and whenever December, I'm just picking
a month. Uh, It's not like at that point she's
gonna go what happened to the tag Tiglet's development? Gone
for five months or four months or anyway. Yeah, you know,
(01:05:36):
there's one thing I love. It's a it's a will
day won't take in a long tag team. And yes,
I too am enjoying the rehabilitation of one Charlotte Claire.
Speaker 9 (01:05:48):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:05:48):
It's actually kind of a story. I pitched for her
to not win the Rumble instead win the elimination Chamber
because it would feel like she earned it more. But
we're kind of I figured that would help rehabilitate her image.
That's kind of what they're doing, so put myself on
the back anyway. Uh yeah, I think they're gonna take
(01:06:09):
the titles off. I kind of think Don is also
going to lose his match. We'll talk about that later,
of course, but yes, this will still have the titles,
but they don't they have a match with somebody on
the raw after some of the slam or something like that.
I feel like, so, I mean, wayns will they lose
(01:06:32):
all the gold? Theory could still kind of happen, but
you know, the the the demise of the Judgmentary has
been teased so many times, it seems like, and they
just keep chugging along. It said years now, right, I
mean it goes back to me Lestlemania thirty eight was
(01:06:56):
that awful Hell and the Cell match with Edge and
Finn right, that demons Judgment Day stuff, right, And that
was how many years ago now? So yeah, the stream
keeps on a rolling. Uh. I think we may be
in for ron a you know, shake up of the
Judgment Day roster perhaps, But I think they're gonna keep
(01:07:18):
keep on trucking and we'll talk about them later, of course,
But yeah, I think, uh, you know, the only question
is who's gonna turn heel. When uh, Alexa and Charlotte
eventually break up. Uh, I think it'll I think it
will probably be the Alexa. Actually I should say, well,
they see child as a baby base, but that's getting
(01:07:40):
ahead of ourselves. I think they win the titles here, yes,
And I like how they've used the women's tag titles
to kind of cycle people out of the World title picture.
You know, they did it with Bianca pretty well, they
kind of did it with Bailey eo.
Speaker 1 (01:07:56):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:07:57):
Now they're doing it on the pilot. I think it's
a good use of the women's titles forage and a
good way to keep you know, the same old, same
old people out of the title picture, the world title picture.
Speaker 2 (01:08:09):
M hmm, yeah, yeah, absolutely disappointed. Clarification just with Day
Yearly has been around for about over three years.
Speaker 5 (01:08:18):
Damn.
Speaker 2 (01:08:19):
They formed in They formed in April of twenty twenty two,
but it was around the time of WrestleMania thirty eight.
But that was not Edge and Finn Balor. It was Edge.
They having a match with aj Styles after he had
turned heel and had a matchup with aj Styles at WrestleMania,
(01:08:40):
and Damian Prex showed up and helped Edge win. And
then the following night, that following Monday, what was what
was the match for.
Speaker 5 (01:08:48):
Finn with the Demon and he got, he got and
they and they? I thought that was Edge and uh
and Finn, but I thought that was Anamania match. I
thought there was a Hellona Cell match.
Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
Was it maybe thirty seven and Finn was the heel
and the babyface?
Speaker 5 (01:09:10):
Aye. I just remember Helena Cel match getting stopped for
the blood loss or whatever, and I was like, this
is stupid. Is the whole point of Helena South That's
just kind of happened. Yeah, maybe I'm misremembering things that
certainly happened the time or two. But anyway, Judgment Day
(01:09:32):
has been around forever, and like how many times have
we said was really gonna break up? And they don't.
I think the roster might shuffle around a little bit,
uh in the near future. Finn is definitely up to something,
I think, but what it is and how that all
shakes out to be seen? Yeah, I think I think
(01:09:57):
a Finn and reckoning is coming.
Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
At some point, Yes, But I mean they could be
just one of those factions that's just like always there,
whether they're in a main event picture or mid card
or what have you. Right, because we've been predicting the fault.
We thought they were gonna fall apart when Riha and
(01:10:25):
Damien left, Yeah, exactly, and they just kind of restructured
and hung around. I don't be personally, I don't see
any reason to break them up at this point, at
least not right now.
Speaker 1 (01:10:42):
Hm.
Speaker 2 (01:10:43):
I think there's still plenty of stories still left to
be told within the faction.
Speaker 1 (01:10:47):
If we don't even have the original members anymore, that's
that's what's crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:10:53):
None of the.
Speaker 2 (01:10:53):
Original man as, no Damien and no Rhea.
Speaker 5 (01:10:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:10:59):
Man, And once Dom's out, I mean that's pretty much
the next wave of Judgment Day members is gone. I
mean now we're all just with new people.
Speaker 2 (01:11:10):
Yep. I just think three years from now, Judgment they
will be like Tiffany Stratton, Lyra Valkyria.
Speaker 5 (01:11:25):
Who's going to be a Judgment Day wolf Pack? Now
that's the question.
Speaker 2 (01:11:28):
Yeah, that'll be That'll be Damien Andria.
Speaker 1 (01:11:36):
All right. Another match on this card is Sammy Zain
versus Carrying Cross with Scarlet. If Cross wins, Sammy Zane
has to say the words Cross was right. If Sammy
Zane wins, Cross must say I was wrong. About Zane.
Speaker 2 (01:11:55):
Where does this rank among the worst stipulations of all time?
Speaker 1 (01:11:58):
Yeah, dumb ass sipulations. Holy crap, Damn I said it.
I had to sit. It's like that was another one
where John Cena Seth Rollins was about to curve stomp
edge and he's like, bring back the authority. Just bring
him back, all right, I bring back the authority. Just
(01:12:23):
some I don't know, some things in wrestling are just
fucking silly, and this is one of them.
Speaker 4 (01:12:27):
Ah.
Speaker 1 (01:12:31):
I I think though, as much as you know, carrying
across has been getting this nice little this little push,
I think because of how much you know, excuse me,
Sammy is the white face, baby meat, baby face, white meat?
(01:12:53):
What am I saying? The baby meat white face?
Speaker 5 (01:12:55):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (01:12:56):
I'm sorry to say. He he's gonna go over here.
He's gotten his ass beat in the past couple of
weeks injured, he came back, got his ass beat again.
I think, just this whole feud, he's he's just gonna
be carrying and just be done with it. I don't
(01:13:17):
understand where this is supposed to go after this, for
either of them. I think that's why a lot of
us just don't really care about this match. This is
if there was a bathroom break on this card, this
might be the one next to the Randy Orton Jelly
Roll tag team match.
Speaker 4 (01:13:36):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:13:37):
Just this is feels like a filler match. Do we
need it on the card? Absolutely not? Is it gonna happen?
Most likely? Yeah, I'm thinking Sammy's ain just just the
l's he's been taking from Cross, and Cross has been
(01:13:58):
dominant this whole few It just seems like the obvious
choice for the baby face to go over.
Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
Dre Well, you might not care about this feud or
may not be interested in it. I, however, has very
much enjoyed carrying Cross out here doing God's worth by
beating the shit out of Zamis ain't everything. They may
be one and one in matches, Karen Cross been giving
(01:14:32):
samu'se ain't that business with that pipe every week. I've
enjoyed every bit of it. As far as this match goes. Seriously, though,
I whether Carrying Cross wins or not, I think depends
on if they have any long term plans for them,
If this is something where they're just like, Okay, he's
gotten over with the fans, let's give him his little moment.
(01:14:53):
His little fifteen minutes in response to the fans. Then
they'll have Sammy's Ain't go over and barry Cross, and
then he'll go back to main event. But if they
have any actual plans on building on this ground swell
support that Carrying Cross has gotten with fans, then he
should go over and win, and then they should build
(01:15:19):
on that from there. I ain't saying put a belt
on him or something, but in some way, shape or form,
they should build on this. Maybe Carrying Cross goes over,
gets Sammy's Ain tomit Cross was right, and at least
to a he'll turn for Sammy's Ain, So Sam's Ain
could actually be fucking interesting again for once. Or maybe
(01:15:39):
Samy's Ain becomes Carrying Crosses like you know, unwilling minion
or manipulated minion. Maybe Sam's Ain acknowledges Cross was right
and joins him, and we get the the you know,
genesis of a new possible faction led by Cross at
some point. But that would be more it to me,
(01:16:03):
would be more interesting than just, hey, Sammy's am wins
another match and Carrying Cross goes back to obscurity, because
where does that leave Sammy's Ain't Nowhere in the next
number one Contenders tournament that he won't win, And where
does that do for Cross? Back to main event doing nothing,
(01:16:24):
so getting support from fans and probably going to another
angry tirade about something that gets support from fans until
he gets another fifteen minutes or something again that doesn't
do anything. If that's the route that they're gonna go,
then there's no reason for this match to have been
on Summer Slam. So my hope is that carrying Cross
(01:16:47):
wins and I'm rolling with my hope on this one
and picking him.
Speaker 5 (01:16:53):
Yeah, I mean you could say that, No, Matt's other
card just benefited from a two night Summer Slam more
than this pine right, Yeah, this is a tough one. Yeah,
I'm more interested than Wayne is I think? Uh, but
I say that I says for Jelly Roll. But yeah,
(01:17:15):
I mean, if you listen to the dirt or if
you read the dirt sheets, uh if if and if
they're right, Uh, Proust and his wife there have a
contract coming up real soon has not yet been extended.
Speaker 2 (01:17:29):
Uh No, is that true?
Speaker 5 (01:17:31):
Uh that's what that's what many people are saying.
Speaker 11 (01:17:35):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:17:35):
So if that's true and they haven't resigned. You know,
are they gonna you know, in regard to how much
merch he may be selling at the moment, are they
going to give him a big win here in SummerSlam
with no contracts in the future. I don't know. I
think Sammy is I've been calling for a Sammy Heal
(01:17:57):
turn for a long time. I would like to be
I'd like to get that here. I don't know if
we're gonna, but they're gonna do. I mean, yeah, yeah,
In as much as I don't necessarily agree with Drey's
olive trade, Sammy's ain't hate he ends times Dannel. He
could use a fresh coat of paint and the Hill
(01:18:20):
turn doing the world of good. I think hopefully.
Speaker 12 (01:18:24):
Uh So, I think he maybe seeks to win and
turns Heel and God, I don't know what the hell
he do with Cross, but I think Sammy's uh, I
think is all this world title talk is eventually gonna
come to fruition within the next year for Sammy, And
I think this is maybe the start of that build
(01:18:45):
or the you know, the baby baby.
Speaker 5 (01:18:48):
Steps of that the start of that build. So I
would love to see him turn Hill. But if he doesn't,
you know, if you're gonna do with something with Cross,
you're gonna do it here, or or he's Maybee might
be cooked. Yeah, so yeah, like kind of like what
Dre said. If they if they have a plan for him,
(01:19:08):
give him a win. But if they don't, what's the point.
Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
Yeah, I didn't even think of I didn't even think
about the contract aspect. So yeah, if they don't have
any plans for him, then maybe he does. Maybe this
is his send off. Hey, we're gonna give you a
match on SummerSlam as a thank you for servicing, goodbye.
Speaker 5 (01:19:27):
And he has fun, have fun getting lost in the
shovel in the a W.
Speaker 2 (01:19:32):
Right, then they, you know, future endeavor him.
Speaker 1 (01:19:38):
Yeah, all right, guys. The last match on the card
for Night one is Roman Reigns and jay Uso versus
Brown Breaker and Bronson Reid with Paul Hammond in a
tag team match. Now, let's we all know the safer
(01:20:03):
move here would be to put Roan Range and jay
Us over. They're the two biggest merch sellers in the company.
They're they're they're ones that are going to get the
crowd popping and people yeating and whatever. Uh, you know,
they're a lot bigger stars than Breaker and Reid obviously,
but also you know, Bronson, Reid and and bron Breaker
(01:20:26):
kind of dominated on Monday Night Raw, which is also
a bad sign right before pl you know, it's normally
the guy who's dominating, you know, the guy who loses
the night after most of the time, you know, I
I know, without Seth rollins, it feels like this little
(01:20:49):
stable is gonna be hurt. I feel like they could
really use the the win here because without Seth, I mean,
if they take this loss, like where do they go
from here? Like where did these two guys go after
a loss?
Speaker 5 (01:21:06):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:21:06):
I've also heard rumors that not rumors, but Rowan Rains
is gonna be leaving again soon to go film the
new Street Fighter movie. So he's going to be going
He's gonna be gone out of the picture for a
little bit. So I mean, they could take an l
(01:21:28):
here and he could walk out of this. I mean,
Jay's gonna be the one who's gonna suffer the most
after the loss. There's also a lot of rumors going
around about possibly another member being brought up to fill
the void until Seth comes back. I'm not saying a
(01:21:49):
leader of any kind. But I'm saying just another member.
There's been talk of like Ricky Starks or Ethan Page,
you know from NXT, coming up and filling that spot
as the fourth man. I could see that, you know,
an interference from somebody, and SummerSlam would be the big
(01:22:12):
place to do it if they're gonna bring somebody back.
But I mean, it's just gonna get stale with just
bron and Bronson. I mean that's just my personal opinion.
You want to elevate these guys for the future, they're
gonna have to take you know, they're gonna have to
(01:22:35):
take the w They can't take a loss again and
then and Roman and j can take the loss. It's
just smarter long term booking, I believe. Just to have
them win over them, I mean, that's that's a big win.
That would be a very big win, you know, over
Roman and Jay who was recently world champion Drey what
(01:23:02):
are you? Are you on the same page as me
or are you thinking they're just gonna put the good
guys over.
Speaker 2 (01:23:10):
First things first, before we even get into this damn match,
you need to talk about what happened on Monday Night Raw.
What happened on Monday Night Raw might be one of
the most disrespectful things that has ever happened in the
history of professional wrestling. That man Roman Reigns. They whooped
(01:23:36):
his ass and took that man's jay's off his feet
and walked off with him. If you from the hood, no,
you get your ass whooped and then they take your
shoes off, that is peak disrespect. That's the type of ship.
(01:24:07):
You gotta pop the trunk on the motherfucking foe. That's
the type of shit people get shot over that type
of people. You that's happened to you. You got to
go back and you gotta go get the whole crew.
You gotta get the whole click and get your ship back.
You can't go back to the hood until you get
your shoes back. If somebody whoop your ass and take
(01:24:28):
your j's and they did that Roman, he disrespect. That
took this match to the whole nother level. That took
That took this match from just being probably a tag
team match, maybe a squash to your hold up. Some
ship might go down here. And I hope, I really
(01:24:52):
hope somebody in creative really picked up on that moment.
Whoever's idea was for Bronson to take romans JA. Give
that person a raise. Give that person a raise because
they thinking outside the box. They was really cooking with
that one. And if they really want to run with
(01:25:12):
it and take it to the next level, Bronson reed
should come out at Summer Slam with Romans J's around
his neck like a ula falla mocking them ships. Run
with the disrespect. That's man like. That moment had had
folk talking on the social media's after that. I ain't
(01:25:34):
gon out me personally, I laughed.
Speaker 5 (01:25:36):
The crowd was like. The crowd was like, holy fuck
right the.
Speaker 2 (01:25:40):
Crowd was or wherever like Yo, that man's shoes think
about it. That think about it. That shit went off
the air and this man went backstage in his socks.
In his socks, Jay just going back to hurt shoes
on feet. Roman went backstage. He could he could feel
(01:26:04):
the great of the of the ramp on his on
his feet. He can feel that on his toes. He
might have stepped on somebody's popcorn and stepped that was
on the ground right stuck to his socks, butter soaked
up in hit the bottom of his socks. Bro Bronston
(01:26:25):
might not even Bronson shouldn't even make it the Summer Slam.
Some Slam should open up with just Broson laid out,
bloody in the parking lot, surrounded by some moments stomped
out and Roman just walking off like getting my fucking
Jay's back, bitch, like it's that type of disrespect. So
(01:26:46):
I'm sorry, I just had to touch on that because
that that could not go underdressed that moment, because damn.
Now to your point about them being stale without Seth Rawlins,
I could not disagree more. I actually think this, this
(01:27:07):
could almost I think this could be a little blessing
in disguise. I think Bronson and Braun by themselves with
Paul Hayman, this could potentially turn out greater than if
Seth Robins was with them. Because Seth with them, he
was the singular focal point, and those two just came
(01:27:27):
off as like lackeys. You know, he was, he was
the focus. Everything was about him, and those guys you know,
being Oh, they get there, they're my bodyguards. They're the
next ones up with him out the picture, they're able
to shine, and those two together they got some aura.
They look They come off like two hungry dogs ready
(01:27:50):
to run rampant on everybody and take what they want
on their way to the top. And to me, that's
more interesting right now than Seth Rawler is just walking
out every week cutting promos, teasing his money in the
bank briefcase and then getting something for himself while those
(01:28:13):
guys just are there. So I might be a little
bit more down for you know, Seth coming back and
he giving him getting the old Edge Judgment day treatment.
They be like, nah, man, we've been cooking without you,
and he get kicked out and maybe Ball turn on
(01:28:35):
him and be like, you know what, now, I'm gon
roll with these two Seth. Granted, I don't think Seth
needs a baby face turned. I still think he does
his best work as a hell but man, hu huh,
I don't know if this faction needs him to be
perfectly honest. And with all that said, going into this
(01:28:55):
match itself and who's going to win, it could go.
It could go any number of ways. There's no reals
set outcome for this. I mean, I could see the
I can see Roman and J going over just because
it's Roman and J and you know they're arguably two
(01:29:18):
quote unquote powerful. For these two, I could also see
if they're invested in building these two up, like if
they're picking up on what some of us are picking
up about these two together, and maybe they want to
run with that. I could see them getting the win.
I can see Roman taking the pen to bron Breaker
to set up something future down the line between those two,
(01:29:39):
because I think the rumor prior to it becoming a
match was these were gonna be separate one on one
matches with Roman versus Bronson, and I mean Roman versus
bron Breakers one on one and Jay versus Bronson reta
in a one on one, So you know, I could
see I could see Hayman's crew taking the win. So yeah,
(01:30:02):
I almost don't want to pick because I just want
to just see it happen and just let it play
out and see what where they're gonna what road they're
gonna take us on with this, But not what we
do here, we make picks. So I'm going to pick
(01:30:22):
Roman and Jay to win, but I think I low
key want Bronson and bron to win.
Speaker 1 (01:30:33):
Okay, yes, that's it's not a bad idea. They go over.
Speaker 2 (01:30:44):
And walk out Night One with the j still around
his neck.
Speaker 1 (01:30:48):
This beat him, beat both their asses and take both
their shoes.
Speaker 2 (01:30:54):
I mean, j don't be rocking number air force ones man,
that don't really mean nothing. You snatch this ship. I
mean it does mean somebody to snatch a ship. It
they just air force Once he got probably like fordom shoots.
Speaker 1 (01:31:09):
Doyle. What are you thinking?
Speaker 5 (01:31:13):
I think you were absolutely right Wayne about the safe
play being Roman and Jay going over. But I was
all set to pick.
Speaker 16 (01:31:24):
Uh Broun and Braun and corporators, uh until they laid
out Roman and Jada later they did on Monday, And
you know the old rule, you know, whoever.
Speaker 5 (01:31:35):
Gets laid out is when they get on the go
home shows, one who wins. I hadn't thought much about
the uh movie schedule.
Speaker 11 (01:31:46):
So.
Speaker 5 (01:31:48):
That's a great point that maybe he won't be around
to capitalize on a on a.
Speaker 2 (01:31:54):
On a on a win here.
Speaker 5 (01:31:56):
But I think that the.
Speaker 17 (01:31:58):
Match they're really build into it was Roman and versus
Brown Breaker, and maybe that's when Breaker beats him and
he goes away for a little while, whatever fucking movie
it is.
Speaker 5 (01:32:09):
Uh, Yeah, I think the I think the better long
term play is for the Heels to win and just
try to solidify their monster status, if you will. But
I think they're gonna have Jay and Roman Wind because
you know, you've gotta have the kids eating and you know,
(01:32:31):
buying glasses and buying T shirts and ship and yeah,
I think it's all about merks. I think we said
that about a different match. But yeah, I think they're
gonna go with the States play here, especially because I
think they might not in a see other spots on
Night two. So I think Night one ends on a
happy note and and then the baby Faces get there
(01:32:56):
like best.
Speaker 2 (01:32:57):
I think.
Speaker 1 (01:33:03):
Baby Phase is going over off of that merch. We're
gonna eating off We're gonna be eating off the air.
I'm pretty sure. I wonder if this is gonna be
the main event.
Speaker 2 (01:33:13):
To be honest, yeah, I think they Well, no, no,
I think.
Speaker 1 (01:33:21):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:33:22):
I think before some of the earlier pro or promo work,
this was billed as the main event, but I think
it has since changed to Guns over Seeing Punk is
gonna main event night one, So this might be. I
don't think. I don't know that this would be the
kickoff match. I think this may be the This might
(01:33:42):
be the penultimate match of Night one. I could see, yeah,
I could I could see Tiffany Stratton and j Cargill
kicking off this, especially if J Cargo is gonna win,
I could see that kicking off Night one.
Speaker 5 (01:33:59):
Yeah, I see too.
Speaker 1 (01:34:02):
Mm hm alright, man, that's that's.
Speaker 5 (01:34:05):
I just I feel like I feel like Roman didn't
come to come to not be the man, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:34:12):
Yeah, I get that too, But and it would seem
like it should. But I don't know. It could be
either or, but I think some combination of those two
will be the last two matches, Guns versus Punk and
then the Roman and Jade Attack match.
Speaker 1 (01:34:34):
All right, that wraps up fucking Night one Saturday to
find out. Yeah, it's stay up two nights in a
fucking row.
Speaker 18 (01:34:48):
All right, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all.
Speaker 1 (01:35:00):
Just welcome back to this little promo. I have to
give one.
Speaker 19 (01:35:05):
You know what it's gonna be about. Yeah, just sit
here and listen. You made it this far into the show.
What we're gonna talk about is something very important. It's
social media. Why aren't you part of the Twitter page,
the Instagram page, our Facebook page, joint share and you
know what you get in there. We'll send you a
(01:35:28):
link to the discord. What's the discord? It's where you
can talk to us all day about wrestling, not just that.
How about you go to our website podcast Champish your
wrestlingworquilliam dot com where.
Speaker 2 (01:35:43):
You can hear you.
Speaker 1 (01:35:46):
Not just a review. You can write into the show.
You kind of question, We'll answer it. What it doesn't
stop there? Oh no it doesn't. We offer so much more.
Do you want to be on the show? Do you
want to shoot the ship with Dre Doyle and right
be yes music, He's like, but he doesn't stop there.
(01:36:12):
Guys saying you gotta go parstl.
Speaker 20 (01:36:17):
Dot com and my PC shirt right we don't have one,
We don't want to, Thank God, we don't have dream
but we.
Speaker 1 (01:36:29):
Do have four if the were dead t shirts out
the guy what they need you have made in this bart?
Speaker 5 (01:36:42):
Are you a man?
Speaker 1 (01:36:43):
Or what are you a fucking mark?
Speaker 5 (01:36:45):
Can tell them.
Speaker 1 (01:36:50):
I'm times running out. Let's move on tonight too.
Speaker 2 (01:37:12):
Shall we.
Speaker 5 (01:37:14):
Nab two? Oops? All gimmick matches? Pretty much like why
couldn't I think five of them are no? DQ Like,
why couldn't we put three and three? Maybe break it
up a little bit. It just seems really strange, uh,
card construction. Although I tell you if you're a referee.
(01:37:35):
You want a referee a night too. It barely needs
you for anything.
Speaker 2 (01:37:38):
Right, You just gotta sit there and just give them
the time. Help Help.
Speaker 1 (01:37:42):
Three looks at it and it's like, oh, it might
be the easier night to work if.
Speaker 4 (01:37:47):
I was a ref.
Speaker 21 (01:37:49):
Yeah, I mean yeah, A triple threat is no DQ
and no d Q, no count out matches, no d Q,
steel cage matches, no d show.
Speaker 5 (01:38:00):
Uh right, the only straight up matches the match.
Speaker 1 (01:38:07):
Right, Yeah, let's actually, let's just start with that match,
Dominic Mysterio versus AJ Styles.
Speaker 2 (01:38:15):
They'll probably sweet out at the last minute. It'll be
a mustache versus hair match or something.
Speaker 1 (01:38:19):
Oh my gosh, So, considering this is a this isn't
a no DQ, and this isn't a gimmick match, does
do we have AJ styles go over clean here?
Speaker 5 (01:38:34):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:38:35):
No, he's going to give the rub to the Dirty Dom.
He's gonna let Dirty Dom get the win. That's gonna
be a big win for Dom too, especially. I don't again,
I don't think it's gonna be clean. He's gonna be
some sort of shenatikins afoot.
Speaker 5 (01:38:51):
But like.
Speaker 1 (01:38:53):
I mean, like you said, dre the world Tag Team Champions.
They're not doing ship that night, so who's to say
they won't go and you know, lend Dirty doma hand.
But uh, you know, like I said, I don't know.
I had this thing where I thought like, maybe Judgment
(01:39:14):
Day's gonna lose both nights. You know, the women lose
their tag titles and Dom loses heir to AJ Styles
because you know, maybe we don't get any interference of
any kind. He just loses clean. But yeah, it's just
never the case of Judgment Day. That's never the case
with you know, since Dom's held the Icy title, it's
just always been shenatigans. And he's been not being able
(01:39:39):
to wrestle the past couple of weeks because of Doctor's notes,
and we've had AJ Styles at every show, you know,
teasing them and spying on them, tressing up in a
different costumes and outfits and whatnot. And it sucks that
the payoff is going to be that AJ loses some
(01:40:00):
sort of BS. But Tom's just gonna keep on trucking
with that IC title.
Speaker 5 (01:40:07):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:40:09):
I just think until honestly, until maybe somebody from Judgment
Day takes it off at him. I just think it's
still gonna be a bit, but he's gonna weasele his
way through Summer Slam. H Drey, what do you think
the same thing?
Speaker 2 (01:40:27):
Yeah, Dominic Stereo is definitely winning this match. Putting the
Icy title on AJ Styles accomplishes nothing, like what is
he gonna do with an Icy title?
Speaker 11 (01:40:38):
Run?
Speaker 2 (01:40:39):
Nothing? Dominic Mysterio is IC Champion is far more interesting
in terms of the ways he can keep that title.
I would love if Dominic Mysterio would beat AJ clean
without Judgment Day interference, but obviously that's not how Judgment
Day rolls, so there will probably be some measure of
interference either from Finn and JD of some sort, and
(01:41:03):
which will allow Dominic to retain just now. As far
as touching on when he would eventually lose it, I
don't know that he would necessarily lose it to a
member within Judgment Day, but I could see a returning
Live Morgan costing him the title, especially if you know
(01:41:24):
things maybe depending on how long she's out, if things
start to develop a little bit more friendly between dom
and Roxanne and they run back the real thing, you know,
like they did with Rihan Live or Live in Real
when she came back, except now the shoes on the
other foot with Live and now she's the one that's
(01:41:45):
you know, getting to SCOOVERR and Dom continues his player image.
I could see her coming back and costing him the title,
but that's obviously way down the line to TVD. A
lot could happen between now and then as far as
this match here though, Dom's winning and he should win.
Speaker 5 (01:42:07):
Well, boys, I am happy to report we have our
first major disagreements of the evening.
Speaker 1 (01:42:13):
Okay, here go.
Speaker 5 (01:42:17):
Dren was absolutely fair to question what the hell aj
styles that was with the IC title, and honestly, that
isn't something I had thought about. Did you guys see
the reception that Donald Asirio got when he showed up
at the latest Triple A events.
Speaker 2 (01:42:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:42:38):
Yeah, we've got a fucking massive pop. As you know,
w W has a partnership with Triple A now and
they also have a partnership with t NA. They had
a thing for wrestling companies whose last letter is a UH.
(01:43:00):
And as you may also know, the two I believe
the Men's and Women's Championships and TA are both held
by WWE talent. At the moment, Dominic is going to
be in a match with three other I think it's
like Dragon Lee. It might be a Grand Dame of
Aracano and like kindo Triple A Mega Championship or whatever.
(01:43:24):
And I think it's a lead tight, stone cold lock
that they're putting that fucking thing on Dirty Dominic mystereo.
So I think him losing this IC title is just
for him to, you know, in two weeks win the
Triple A title. Uh and maybe at that point Finn
(01:43:45):
and JD will drop their titles. You'll get your way
and you'll get your your titleist Judgment Day scenario, and
Donald will come back in and go, look, I think
what I got, you know, and that will cause jealousy
and and uh, it's the very core of the Judgment Day.
But yeah, I think AJ is gonna win. And I
(01:44:08):
don't know that they need to do anything except have
great access with people, which is what AJ Styles does.
Speaker 2 (01:44:17):
But yeah, it's.
Speaker 5 (01:44:17):
Mostly it's not so much that I think they're putting
the title off of Age are putting the title on
AJ Styles. Is they're taking it off of Domine so
they can go do something else, and that's how they else.
I think it's winning the Triple A title. But yeah,
I think is gonna win this one. And it's weird
that they I see title and the US title on
the same night. Has that ever happened in the in
(01:44:40):
the two the two night era almost all the night Ship.
Speaker 2 (01:44:46):
We lucky we got both the motherfuckers on the same
pol e.
Speaker 5 (01:44:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:44:51):
The fact that they're even both being I didn't even
think about the fact that both mid car titles are
being defended on the same pol let alone the same
night sh weird. Yeah, so you don't think we might
have a potential you know, dirty dom dose belts.
Speaker 5 (01:45:09):
I mean that would be fun too, Uh, but I
don't know. You're you're then you're maybe, I don't know.
Are you saying that the Triple A World title is
the equivalent of a secondary title in WWE or do
you want that to be something greater than of course,
not as great as the World Heavywary title or the
(01:45:30):
w w E un Disputed, Universal Global Immortal whatever champions.
I gotta love seriously they take that, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:45:43):
Probably about it seriously. Knockouts Champion, I mean, maybe about
it seriously, as they took the TNA Knockouts Champion, since
they put since they put that on their NXT champion.
Speaker 5 (01:45:55):
It's like, you know, I mean, how many two bets
mixing to run at the same time.
Speaker 2 (01:46:04):
True, I mean there there's that point, but I mean
that would be that would make that three currently, right
because there's Jane.
Speaker 5 (01:46:18):
One Lyra was just one for a day, but you
know whatever.
Speaker 2 (01:46:24):
Yeah, it has been mostly women because Larry had it
for a moment. Definitely Lackaer had it for a moment.
Speaker 1 (01:46:29):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:46:30):
Currently it is j C. Jane with the n x
T and t n A titles and technically saw Ruka
I think she was. I think she was two belts. Yeah, yeah,
because she's an ex North American and speed champion, right,
so but no.
Speaker 5 (01:46:48):
Dommy Dues Spelts could be pretty fun. You know, I
think anything of the kids does have a fund it
because man, when he when he first started with his father,
I fucking hate to him, and boy, like somewhere around
this kid is great. He's gonna be around for a while.
He's gonna be entertaining, I hope for a long time.
(01:47:12):
So yeah, I mean I think I think they're taking
the belts off him, but only to go putting different
belts on him.
Speaker 2 (01:47:18):
Basically, I'm rolling with dirty thout the kid the kid
bad Mouth.
Speaker 5 (01:47:24):
I mean, I know it's the character bad Mouth, sleeps
doors or whatever, but I mean his higher gear everything
is a tribute to a ligit, you know. Like so
he definitely takes this shit super seriously. And I think
he would be like honored if they put that triple
head belt on him. Uh. I think he would take
(01:47:44):
that seriously, you know, and not goof around or whatever.
But I think I think that could be a lot
of fun that that pay per view he is actually
gonna be streaming on the w W e's uh YouTube.
Speaker 2 (01:47:58):
That's kind of cool and if in a sense of
long term maybe some long term storytelling, if w W
still does that, imagine him as both IC Champion and
Triple A Champion and having to kind of switch back
and forth between being a superheel and being a pseudo babyface, right, Yeah,
(01:48:26):
Like if he's in Triple if he's you know, defending
the Triple A title, he's acting more like a babyface
and stuff. But then when it comes to the i
C title, he's full on heel mode all wrong. Yeah,
that could be fun and interesting and maybe he starts
to develop a little bit of a conflict a personal
internal conflict that could eventually lead towards him making a
(01:48:48):
full fledged face turn at some point.
Speaker 1 (01:48:50):
It's gonna be like he could be like a.
Speaker 2 (01:48:54):
Total douchebag and then maybe like somebody and Judgment Day time,
like you know, cracks a joker out the Triple A
title that he gets serious from him, like hey, hey,
don't disrespect.
Speaker 5 (01:49:06):
Able to keep that horse in the cart in the
in the barn for Golong. You know, there were days
when I thought there was no way that everyone would
turn him face unless they reunited him with his father.
But uh, I think it's gonna happen organic. It's happening organically,
you know, uh huh.
Speaker 2 (01:49:30):
Yep, yep. So could could Dom be a baby face
by Russell Mania next year?
Speaker 1 (01:49:37):
He's gonna have to leave Judgment Day for that, but
I believe it.
Speaker 2 (01:49:45):
Maybe he might not have to leave Judgment Day.
Speaker 5 (01:49:49):
Yeah he might Judgment Day.
Speaker 2 (01:49:51):
Yeah, Judgment Day could turn around and be the heel,
be the baby face faction kicking out the heels.
Speaker 1 (01:49:57):
That would be so crazy to think of, you know,
Judgment Day.
Speaker 2 (01:50:03):
Faces think about it like Dom Live, I mean, Dom
Raquel and Rock sand Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:50:16):
Oh damn, that's possible. It's very possible, and you got
all those other yeah, I guess I'm thinking, like, what
about the former members who are also faces, Damian Priests
and Ria they're also faces as well. Maybe they won't
be by that time.
Speaker 5 (01:50:38):
Okay, I can't see them.
Speaker 7 (01:50:41):
No, No, they're too far. Yeah, Dirty Dom has moved
on to hotter things. Uh, all right, guys, that said,
let's move on to the next match. This one was
added recently. It's the six pack tables, ladders and Chairs
(01:51:03):
match for the w W Tag Team titles. We have
the champions the White Six, which is held by Dexter
Loomis and Joey Gracie or Joe Gracie Our Joe Gacy,
I'm sorry. Versus Andrade and Ray Phoenix versus d I Y,
(01:51:24):
Johnny Gargano and Tamasa Champa versus Praxium, Axiom and Nathan
Fraser versus Motor City Machine Guns by Alex Shelley and
Chris Saban versus the Street Prophets, Angelo Dawkins and monteze Ford. Guys, Honestly,
this could go anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:51:47):
They really make a decent argument for just about any
one of these guys winning the Tag titles like Andrade
and Ray Phoenix have been becoming a popular tag team.
They're being more and more light. I'm kind of enjoying
them as a tag team. We're seeing Praxium. They came
(01:52:08):
from n x T. They've been a well established tag
team already. You know, MotorCity machine Guns still fresh to
the roster. I believe they're still hot. The Street Provinces
just lost those titles recently. Uh did they? Yeah, not
too long ago they Was it them or was it
(01:52:28):
Di I Y who held the titles last? I can't
recall who lost it?
Speaker 21 (01:52:36):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, was it Street Profits Rights?
Speaker 5 (01:52:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:52:41):
I thought I thought so Street Profits had and they
lost them to the YE six, So you know, uh,
I could see the Street Profits gained them back. I
guess for me, the most safe choice is to keep
it with the Y six, right I I at this
(01:53:04):
point in time, but I don't see it swapping hands
as soon. I just think we're gonna get a hell
of a match. We did have a nice TLC match
not too long ago with some of these guys, and
it wasn't even on a pay per view, So I
think this is where they're getting their second shot to
give one hell of a TLC match, and we also
have you know, more tag teams involved. So I think
(01:53:27):
this is gonna be the fun match of the night
for me. I mean, I know we have gimmick matches
all around, but this one might be the most fun
if it delivers like the last one that they did.
So I'm gonna go with the safe bet here. I'm
gonna go with the White six man. I think they're
gonna retain.
Speaker 2 (01:53:49):
Dre.
Speaker 1 (01:53:49):
What do you think.
Speaker 2 (01:53:52):
I'm gonna say something that might not be too popular.
I think there's too many fucking teams in this match.
Speaker 1 (01:54:00):
Oof, it is very unpopular.
Speaker 2 (01:54:04):
I think six teams and at ELC match. I think
this is bound to be a clusterfuck of a spot
fest of a match that is not going to be
as good as people think it is. All these teams
(01:54:24):
on their own can cook. You put any of these
you throw, put all these teams in a bag and
pull out two names and put them in a match.
They can cook. But throwing all of them into one
and slapping the TLC on top of it, which doing
it at SummerSlam. Obviously, they're trying to play on the
(01:54:44):
nostalgia of the last h You know the old Dudley's
Edgend Christian Hardy Boys days, but I don't one. And
this is not not going TLC matches in general. I
think they can still be great, but now the matches
aren't as reckless as they were back then. Like we're
(01:55:09):
not gonna get a spot of edge spearing you know
who was it, Jeff Hardy off of the top of
the ladder and I'm both just going crashing down full
speed and damn near knocking themselves out. Like you're not
gonna see a reckless spot like that in this match.
Anytime somebody takes a deep dive, they're jumping onto a
(01:55:30):
you know, a pillow of humans, you know. Or maybe
you'll get a spot crashing through a table here and
there and stuff. But I don't know that it's gonna
have that same that same special sauce that the old
school TLC matches had with the Dudley's Head and Christian
(01:55:54):
and Hardy's. I really think this match is just gonna
be a spot fest. Yeah, it'll be in retaining and
you know, the crowd of go every time somebody does something,
oh shit, and this is awesome and all that. We'll
get all those chants, but ultimately I think the match
is just gonna be a clusterfuck, and I'm rooting for
(01:56:16):
Street Profits to win, but I can't tell you who
the fuck is gonna win this match. Like I said,
I think it's too many teams. I think they should
have had these guys compete to qualify for this match
and then the top three got in. They should have
had you know, three tag team matches with the six
(01:56:36):
teams and the three winners went on to be in
this match. That's my two cents.
Speaker 5 (01:56:47):
To make sure that this is far too soon after
that really really great uh KOC match they did on
I can't was it raw?
Speaker 2 (01:56:58):
I can't even stack down.
Speaker 5 (01:56:59):
I can't remember was that even.
Speaker 1 (01:57:00):
A match or was that just a not it was
a TLC match.
Speaker 22 (01:57:04):
I think it's a TLC match, Yes, I just think
it's like it's too easy to compare something that just
kind of.
Speaker 5 (01:57:15):
Happened, right, Like there's no way you can live up
to that again. So like, yeah, I definitely share your
concern about that. I do think it'll be fun, though.
The key with all these matches is if they're able
to string together like a coherent narrative, or if it's
just a you know, three people in the ring, they
(01:57:36):
set something up, they do a move, they roll out.
Three different people get in the ring and they set
up something, they do a move, they were all. You know,
sometimes these things turned into just like going from A
to B to C and there's no nothing in between,
you know. So that's always a concern with these kind
of matches in my opinion. When I did like your
(01:57:58):
point about and Driving and Ray Phoenix probably have the
most momentum going into this match, h just for the
sake of what the fuck, I'll pick them. It's really
it could be anybody here, you know. As much as
we had praised the SmackDown Tag Division in the past
(01:58:21):
couple of months, I don't know why, but I feel
like they kind of have lost a little bit of
the luster or the little momentum. Maybe it's and I
made this argument when when SmackDown went from three hours
to two hours, and I said, great, you know, I've
been wanting that for a while. But uh, the US
(01:58:44):
Women's the women's US title, and the men's tag team
titles there have been the beneficiary of that extra hour.
So I don't know if losing that extra hour has
taken away some of the momentum that this division had going.
I'm not sure what the what the cause is, but
I'm just gonna pick and draw it in Ray Phoenix
because I think they'll be fun. And I am bored
(01:59:06):
stiff with the Wyat six, as I have been since
the rumors of their entrance started popping up. I just
I couldn't care less. It's a garbledy look to me,
you know, smoke, spooky mast or whatever. I don't care.
I really don't. Let's see what Ray Phoenix and Andren
(01:59:27):
I can do.
Speaker 1 (01:59:30):
That's actually a pretty safe choice, man. I said. They're
pretty hot right now. Even though I don't watch a
lot of SmackDown, I see nice bunches of clips of them.
They're getting along pretty Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:59:41):
I mean I think, I think. I think if you're
looking at this like as a as a sport, you
know who has momentum going into the playoffs, I think
you'd have to say them.
Speaker 1 (01:59:49):
Yeah, yeah, all right, guys. Next, we have Solo Socoa,
the United States champion versus Jacob five in a steel
cage match.
Speaker 4 (02:00:04):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (02:00:05):
Supposedly it's supposed to keep out any type of interference, right,
We're not gonna have anybody interfere.
Speaker 5 (02:00:14):
We're not gonna have.
Speaker 1 (02:00:16):
Any of the new I don't mean they're not bloodlined.
I fear what they're called.
Speaker 2 (02:00:22):
Mt M.
Speaker 1 (02:00:25):
What a terrible fucking name.
Speaker 2 (02:00:27):
Uh, it's only a terrible name. When you think about
what MFT stands for, then it doesn't make sense because
NFT stands from my family tree. So you put the
in front of it, it sounds stupid. If you just
leave it at MFT, then it can kind of work.
(02:00:50):
Just don't think about what MFT stands for.
Speaker 1 (02:00:52):
Right you know, Jacob far T seems like he has
this rocket strapped his back.
Speaker 4 (02:00:59):
Man.
Speaker 1 (02:01:00):
This guy is selling now, he's selling merch. He's way
over with the crowd. They're pairing him up with Jimmy
Uso again or not again, but they're pairing him up
with Jimmy Usso, so you know he has somebody to
watch his back in this match. Even though it's a
steel cage. Like I said, there's still gonna be interference.
(02:01:20):
Are we gonna get Is the other Tonga gonna come
back from injuries? Is he ready to come back? There's
there's talks of Umaga's son Zillah Fatu showing up. Possibly.
I mean, it just seems like every pay per view
we might just get another bloodline member of some kind,
(02:01:43):
another Samoan just showing up. Ah. I I really would
like to see like them not get involved, like Jimmy
being able to keep them at bay, and and Jacob
being able to win this United States title back because
(02:02:04):
if he loses, if he loses Solo again, where do
you go from here?
Speaker 2 (02:02:10):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (02:02:10):
Is Solo really the bigger man, the better, the better star.
I don't think so. I think Jacob Fartu is literally
all gats no breaks right now with his gimmick. So
even though it's in a steel cage and and Solo's
got the numbers game, I still think Jacob's gonna find
a way to come out on top and Jacos be
(02:02:33):
the United States Champion again. Ah, Dre Do you do
you agree with me? Do you think I'm crazy? Do
you think it's gonna be a predictable.
Speaker 11 (02:02:44):
No?
Speaker 2 (02:02:44):
I think Solo has to win if Jacob, if the
if the title goes back on Jacob Fatu, then what
was the point of him losing it in the first
damn place? Just losing for a couple of weeks to
get it right back. Where does that leave MFT if
they lose the you know, if the four of them
(02:03:07):
motherfuckers can't knock off Fasu and Jay Uso. That's kind
of been the whole thing, is that, Yeah, they can
come in and get a moment, but ultimately the numbers
game gets the better of them. So in a still
cage match, which yes, is designed to keep people out
(02:03:28):
but never does, but it also means there's no disqualifications,
then why wouldn't the numbers game play more of a
factor now than ever? So the only thing that can
propel this storyline forward is Solo retaining the title, thus
(02:03:51):
causing thus leading resulting in Jacob having to continue the
chase with Jay still trying to back them up, but
them ultimately needing more help. Now, whether that help comes
in the form of somebody else outside the family, I
mean somebody else out, a member of the family coming
(02:04:12):
from outside WWE being brought in like a zilofa two
or somebody, or if that means Jay coming over to
help his brother out, because that's been rumored for a
long time that the Ussos might be reuniting, and maybe
that could be where Jay go's you know, post SummerSlam.
Is he's over the SmackDown to help his brother and Jacob.
(02:04:37):
Maybe him and Jacob have a bit of a tenuous
relationship at first because of past beef, but they eventually
get on the same page. I could see that being
the storyline going forward, but that doesn't happen if Jacob
is easily just able to win his title back. So no,
(02:04:57):
I think Solo remains as a US champ.
Speaker 1 (02:05:00):
You m all right, Dory, let's hear it.
Speaker 2 (02:05:09):
Do you both make do an argument?
Speaker 5 (02:05:16):
You know? I don't know the Solo has having enough
credit recently for how well he's kind of shifted into
more of a comedic kind of character. You know. He
came in as this, you know, the street enforcer or whatever,
which never kind of made a whole lot of sense
to me, and then Jacob Patu came in and did
(02:05:37):
the basically the same character one hundred thousand times better.
So I was gonna find something to figure himself somehow,
and I think he has finally done that. He is funny.
He has been funny, uh And I think this little
run with the US title has done him some good.
(02:05:58):
But a great question is if he'll just turn around
him and loses it. What next for the rest of
his group? And yeah, it's four and one or four
and two and you know, but that's classic davy faced
Heel math too. It's the two baby faces are able
to dispatch one heel and three of his goons. He's
(02:06:19):
kind of a shame that, that's all Jeff Cobb really
has been with the goon uh because he's Jeff Cobb,
and he's a pretty good Reds player in his own right,
is a midget. And on the Indians, the's huge. I mean,
I think they're gonna put uh five two up into
(02:06:41):
the probably moved to raw and put him in the
world heavyweight title picture shooting right a little later. I
don't know he I think he may lose a little
credibility if he's not able to beat Solo here. So
I think he's gonna find a way to outsmart the
Heels somehow now are out maneuvered them as it were.
(02:07:03):
And I think I think Jacob Fotu will get the
title back here and they're about to strap a rocket
to his ass.
Speaker 2 (02:07:14):
Damn straight m hell yeah, yeah, I mean like I
think Solo will come out on top eventually. I just
don't think it's that Summer Slam.
Speaker 5 (02:07:29):
Yeah, I mean, I think Solo has a decent future,
and like I said, he was able to reinvent himself.
If he hadn't, he might be next on the list.
Speaker 1 (02:07:37):
You know, do we think another Smoan is showing up?
Speaker 5 (02:07:45):
I don't know if you can roll it out. I
mean they've had I want to say lance and a
while or whatever. I'm mispronouncing the last name.
Speaker 1 (02:07:56):
I know.
Speaker 5 (02:07:57):
I feel like they've had him under contract this as
all long as Tala Taga had been almost a year.
I haven't done anything with them, so I could. I
could see that, I could see him pop it up,
But I don't know. I mean, it's just at a
certain point there's gonna be too many Simoens, right, there
has to be as some French hold where others. Enough,
(02:08:19):
we have reached whole for my one fasturation levels.
Speaker 1 (02:08:25):
You can never have too many Samoans. Soon it's gonna
be the whole Damn roster's just gonna be off some os.
Speaker 5 (02:08:33):
Yeah, it's changes to the World Samoan Wrestling Entertainment Federation.
Speaker 1 (02:08:38):
Yeah, hmmmmmmmmm. All right, let's move on. We got three
matches left here, all right, We got Becky Lynch uh
the Intercontinental Champion versus Lyra kuria Uh in a no disqualification,
(02:09:01):
no count out last chance match. If Lynch wins, Lyra
can no longer challenge the title as long as Lynch
is champion. Another goofy ass stipulation. Oh yeah, I mean,
aren't all no disqualification matches?
Speaker 11 (02:09:23):
Do they?
Speaker 5 (02:09:24):
Do?
Speaker 1 (02:09:24):
They even do count out?
Speaker 2 (02:09:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:09:28):
That's where I was like, why would they stress?
Speaker 5 (02:09:31):
Then?
Speaker 1 (02:09:32):
Okay, I guess.
Speaker 5 (02:09:33):
How any different And how was that any different than
the street fight?
Speaker 1 (02:09:37):
Exactly exactly?
Speaker 2 (02:09:39):
I would like, might as well just called it another
street fight.
Speaker 1 (02:09:46):
Yeah, I mean, I think we discussed this a little
bit on discord. I mentioned it too, Like Lara, I'm
just not on the same page. Man, I was all
for her. I I was, you know, kind of rooting
for But after these pasts, this this few is just
getting stale. I just don't see it.
Speaker 2 (02:10:09):
It's all Lira's fault, it is.
Speaker 1 (02:10:13):
And to be honest, like, I see Becky retaining again,
and you know, there's a lot of discussion of like,
you know, Bailey being left out of this again, left
out of SummerSlam, she was left out of WrestleMania due
to an injury. Now she's left out of Summer Slam.
(02:10:34):
I could see a heel turned for Bailey to freshen
up her freaking character. She's kind of hinted toward us
for a little bit because, let's let's face it, guys,
if Lyra wins this title, I feel like we're gonna
be stuck in the same feud again, Like Becky needs
to win and we need to move on. I'm just
(02:10:58):
sick and tired of this feud between three of them,
and this is what's basically been all summer since this
title has been introduced. Basically, this is all we gotten Becky, Bailey,
and Lyra. It's time to move on. Becky's gonna win here,
Lyra's gonna take the the L and she's gonna leave.
(02:11:22):
Go do something else, the love of God, go for
the United States title.
Speaker 2 (02:11:27):
I don't know, ah, so.
Speaker 1 (02:11:34):
Pretty cut and clean for me. I already made up
my decision long before I wanted this match to fucking happen. Dre,
are you thinking the same thing? Are you done with
this few as well?
Speaker 2 (02:11:48):
I mean pretty much because it hasn't amounted to nothing
because one person, for all the talent she has in
the ring, ain't got a ounce of aura or a
character about her for shit, and is doing herself more
(02:12:10):
harm than good every time she talks like that. Was
rather shocking to see her come out on Monday night,
brawl to a pop to a notable, measurable pop, and
then lose the crowd as she started talking in the
promo like and because she's not believable, like whatever her
(02:12:35):
character is now or is not. She has a as
I said in the discord, she has a gimmick, but
she does not have a character. Her gimmick is or
Lady got us of War valkyrie whatever, but what is
her character? Her character right now is just an Irish
(02:12:57):
girl who an Irish girl with a squeaky voice, I
won't say squeaky, but higher pitched voice, who when she
tries to talk about being angry, doesn't come off as believable.
Like what was she saying in that promo, Like I'm
that just happened to YadA YadA or something because I
have to go to a place that I've never gone before,
(02:13:19):
and you could like see it in the crowd. It's
like we don't believe you, hm hm, Like it's it's
just not working it's like, yeah, she there's no reason
to put this title on her back on her, there's
nothing interesting about her regaining the IC Championship triple. Ah
(02:13:43):
might do it because he seems dead set on making
her the next top woman in the division, and she
semes dead set on sabotaging it every way possible. So
it was me, I keep the title on Becky Lynch
because Becky Lynch is more interesting as an AUSSI champion
(02:14:05):
and find somebody else to dethron her. But if I
was to put money on it, something tells me Lyra's
probably gonna win.
Speaker 1 (02:14:18):
Okay, And now for Doyle's thoughts.
Speaker 5 (02:14:24):
You know I love about these ladies are from the
old country. Uh but yeah, I mean just this this
whole Becky Bailey Lyra thing, it's getting pretty uh pretty
stale at this point. I totally agree. Yeah, Becky a
fanky Bailey has kind of had a dark turn lately.
(02:14:45):
But I just don't know how that would work. What
was you know, if he attacked Benky Benty's also a heel,
what does that make? I don't know, maybe she attacked
both of them or something. Uh, But yeah, I mean
this fewd needs to be over. Everybody needs to go
do something else. And I think Wayne, you said, if
(02:15:08):
Lyra wins, it feels like this thing just starts anew
I only kind of need to break the cycle, I think.
And yeah, I mean I could see, you know, I
expect the draft any day now. Uh So maybe maybe
we send Lyar to a different brand and maybe give
her a little of pain to something. Maybe Bailey turned
(02:15:33):
to you. But yeah, I think I think Becky'll retained
the title. Yeah, I mean, as much as I like
line or just kind of not not getting it done,
at least on the microphone. I think she's still pretty
good and pretty solid in the.
Speaker 2 (02:15:53):
Ring, But.
Speaker 5 (02:15:55):
Yeah, she she And you know, not everybody has it,
uh you know, if you get off cry or the
crowd doesn't ring with the way you expect them to,
some people just can't recover from that. I think it's
a skill you can learn. So I'm not ready to
give up on her yet. But yeah, that was that
was noticeable. For sure. She straight up lost the crowd
(02:16:18):
if she had him.
Speaker 2 (02:16:25):
Had them, man, then she kicked her feet and spun
and yeah from there, right.
Speaker 1 (02:16:37):
All right, guys, we got two matches left here, We
got a triple threat match for the women's world title
Naomi is our Metro Champion, Ria Ripley and e Sky.
Speaker 2 (02:16:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:16:52):
Absolutely. If if the six pack, table sizes and chairs
match isn't good enough, this will definitely be a quality
for sure. There's honestly, there's argument for all three of
these women leaving here with this title. There's really no
(02:17:12):
bad outcome. You know, Ria is Ria playing simple, She's
she's one of the most popular women on the roster
right now. She's been the past couple of years. She's
been losing a lot more recently, but after being built
(02:17:34):
up for so long, I feel like she can eat
a few pins because she's been dominant just for so long.
And you know, Eo is just over right now and
any match she's in is just pure gold right now.
I mean, especially the past several weeks, she's put on
(02:17:54):
stellar matches, even just on a roll. She's just what
hasn't been given enough time for storylines and in TV time,
But when she is in that ring, hell of wrestler.
Speaker 2 (02:18:07):
Hell, she wasn't given any fucking thing.
Speaker 1 (02:18:10):
Yeah, because every time we saw her.
Speaker 2 (02:18:11):
Was Yeah, remember the match she had a few weeks ago, Uh,
was her first title defense since WrestleMania.
Speaker 1 (02:18:22):
Mm hmm, yeah, and uh, I'm gonna, you know, with
all these possibilities, I'm gonna say, though, I think it's
gonna be Naomi. I think she's doing her best heel
work she's done since, you know, because she's been I
believe she's been a heel before and it's just not
(02:18:45):
as good as she is now as a heel. I
could see her holding on to the title for a
lot longer because I just think it's too soon. She's
was a few more months with it, so I think
I don't I don't think it's gonna be a clean win.
I think it's gonna be a sneaky, underhanded type of win,
(02:19:08):
you know, capitalizing on somebody else's work. I feel like
that's how she's gonna walk out with her title. I mean,
that's the best way to go about it for a
triple threat match. But oh man, this match is gonna
be so fucking good, Dre, you might be right match
of the night, right, you know, just calling it so
(02:19:30):
uh for sure, Man, my pig is Naomi. Go ahead, Dre.
Speaker 2 (02:19:38):
Sae. I'm thinking Naomi is going to walk out as champion.
I think the way the match is going to end.
I think rear Ripley is going to have EO sky
pinned or not pin but she's gonna have her beat
ready to pin her and get the win. And Naomi's
gonna take out Rya and steal the win pinning Eos guy.
(02:20:01):
Because the subtle undertext of this match has is the
feud between Ria and EO, and they touched on it
a bit on Monday, and it was a very subtle moment,
but a moment that looking back on it, I loved.
In terms of Ria talking to EO after their match,
you know, after they were talking subway backstage and they
(02:20:24):
were about leaving, Ria mentioned you know, I know yadayada,
or saying you know, coming to Sunday, things are gonna
change and she's gonna win. But EO delivered a very subtle, short,
sweet line, but it hit like a ton of bricks
to me, and I wish it was something that they
would run with long term. When EO responded to Ria
(02:20:47):
and said, Ria, you have never beaten me before and
you never will. Fucking loved that line from EO. I
would love if that became a long term story where
like years go by and Ria never pins Io. Ria
doesn't get that win over EO until like the end
(02:21:10):
of her career. I'm not saying like ind of the career,
like they you know, forty five years old and can't
go in the ring no more or nothing like that.
I just mean like, whenever Ria does finally be EO,
it should be like a WrestleMania moment, after multiple attempts
(02:21:30):
and multiple losses years later, she finally gets it like
that that could be its own little subtle streak within itself,
a streak of L's but for the match itself, Yeah,
I think that maybe. I think that will play into
(02:21:51):
the storytelling of this match. I think Real will have
EO Sky beats prepared to pin her for the three
and become champion, and Naomi's going to swoop in and
take her ass out, and Naomi's going to get the
win Penningo Sky.
Speaker 5 (02:22:11):
M Hm, Yeah, you pretty much took the words out
of my mouth.
Speaker 1 (02:22:14):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (02:22:15):
I think basically an EO cancel each other.
Speaker 2 (02:22:18):
Out, you know.
Speaker 5 (02:22:19):
I think we're He's gonna be way too obsessed with
with Tad and EO. Uh. And yeah, I think I
think uh Naomi does some dirty ship and ends up
with the w. Yes, she has been doing the best
work of her career. I think I don't think she'll
still be champion in another six months, you know, but
(02:22:40):
she deserves more than you know, she just won the title,
right or just cash in? Not when very long? Has
that a month? Month and a half?
Speaker 2 (02:22:50):
Maybe?
Speaker 5 (02:22:51):
Yeah, yeah, so she I think she deserves, uh you know,
a nice couple of months run to the title, give
her some fresh opponents.
Speaker 4 (02:23:02):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (02:23:04):
Yeah, He's been great, and I mean, hell you know,
EO and Ria are also great too. But Danny Ausler
been involved in the title picture in one of the
titles or another for the last couple of years. Uh,
you know, he has been a champion going into WrestleMania
two years in a row, have I Right? So it's like,
you know, I don't mind seeing people kind of like
(02:23:25):
I said, you know, women's after not quite as deep
as the mens. Uh, so you kind of got to
cycle these people out, you know, every now and then
otherwise it gets boring, you know how many times continue
watch the same people. So yeah, I'm really loving what
Naomi's been doing. Uh, and I hope to see it
(02:23:46):
continue for lead a couple more months. So I think
I see, Yeah, does some sneaky uh sneaky ship heel
ship and uh comes away with the retaining.
Speaker 1 (02:24:00):
Freaking awesome. I'm glad we're on the same page.
Speaker 2 (02:24:05):
All right, guys, I will say dark horse candidate from
matches the Knight could be solo versus Jacob and a
steel Cage. If they really let them go hard on
each other, I'll say that's a dark Horse. Can I
feel like that's a big yeah. Like I said, big
is That's why I say dark Horse candidate. But my money,
(02:24:28):
my money's on is on this women's match. And I
say match of the night, I really mean match of
the show. I'm saying both nights like this would be
the match to to steal everything.
Speaker 5 (02:24:44):
It certainly could be, certainly could be.
Speaker 1 (02:24:52):
All right, guys, down to the main event. Uh John
Cena the Underspeed WW Champion versus Cody Rhodes and a
street fight. I think this is definitely gonna tell a
nice story during the whole freaking match because I like
(02:25:15):
street fights. This is another one that could go either
way because a lot of people are saying there's gonna
be a double turn here here, We're gonna get Cody
as a heel and and Sena as a face. I
(02:25:36):
don't see that happening, and I honestly I don't. I
don't see Cody winning. And I know this is his
second time around going against Sena, but I mean, just
like Roman, Cody's gotta leave for a movie that's gotta
(02:25:56):
be shooting real soon. He's gonna be in the New
Street Fight, and I just don't think they're gonna be
putting the gold on somebody who's gonna be leaving very soon.
It's just me trying to be realistic here. I know
a lot of people are hoping that Sena becomes a
(02:26:18):
face towards the end of his run. I mean, it's
probably inevitable, but I just don't think it's gonna happen here.
I mean, I really wasn't excited to see Cody versus
Sena again, just because I know that Sena has limited
(02:26:40):
time left and I kind of don't want to waste
it on rematches, especially rematches that we've seen like very
very recently. I kind of wanted to see him move
on and wrestle somebody else. But you know, it is
what it is. We're gonna get this anyway. I mean,
(02:27:03):
huge babyface versus a guy that's supposed to be booed,
but he's also getting cheered too, just as much as
he's getting booed. I'd like to see I personally would
like to see seea hold on to the titles to
the very end, whether he loses his last match or
or walks away with it and we vacated for a minute.
(02:27:26):
I don't care. I just don't think he's should lose
it now and lose it to Cody Trey.
Speaker 2 (02:27:37):
What are you thinking?
Speaker 1 (02:27:38):
What are your thoughts?
Speaker 5 (02:27:47):
No?
Speaker 2 (02:27:47):
Not really, I think Cody wins. There's nobody. Yeah, there's
nobody left for seeing it to defend against like he
he wanted, He got the title, he did his Greatest
Hits World Tour title defense into his nice circling back
to Cody. If he defeats Cody, who the hell else
is who else is going to challenge him? Mm hmm,
(02:28:10):
Like we're not we they build. They put too much
in building up Scena versus Orton for the last time,
so they can't run that back. They built up Scena
versus Punk for the last time, so they can't run
that back. So I mean, what other big name is
there to challenge Sena with Roman. No, I don't see
(02:28:33):
Roman being the one to take the title, to come
out of nowhere and take the title off of Sena.
So what's left. I think it kind of has to
end here, just because there's nothing left after this for him,
but for him to go away or for him to
you know, take the loss, shake see his hand, go
(02:28:55):
away and then come back in a couple of weeks
or a month or two after he's I think he's
slated to go film another project and then he'll come
back and close out this year with in a baby
face run m maybe doing some work with the younger
talent generation of stars, getting them over or just doing
(02:29:18):
a victory lap or whatever. So no, I think it's
pretty clear cut that the titles going back on Cody.
I would be shocked if Seena won.
Speaker 5 (02:29:33):
Shocked.
Speaker 1 (02:29:34):
Okay, well, then I guess it's all these up to
what Doyle thinks.
Speaker 5 (02:29:42):
I think that even if Coley lost, he could still
be the one to beat Tina in the end, maybe
in December, and you know from return, you know, taking
leaving with the title and any rate. As much as
I poop pood John Cena Seal Turn pretty much I
(02:30:06):
think it's just been a pretty big flop for me,
not working at all. I don't think I'm also I
don't think it's gonna be over yet. Uh. It's it's
just I don't feel like it's run its course or
even come close to living up to its potential. So
(02:30:26):
I could see it's an area very much where like
I just said, where Sina wins again, and maybe maybe
Cody goes away and films his movie and then in
you know around uh, you know, in the Fall, he
comes back and you know he has to go through
you know this, that and the third to get a
(02:30:48):
kind of shot, you know, one last chance at Sena,
you know, before he retires or whatever, and that maybe
that's where he went it back. Even though it's not
gonna be in an over Na or whatever, it'll still
be John seen his last match, you know, which will
be huge in and of itself, regardless of where, when
and where it ends up taking place. I think I
(02:31:15):
think scene is going to retain here. I think scene
is gonna retain, And I say it's just because it
just doesn't it's right with me to have Cody win
at this point, and I think Cody's much better as
a chaser anyway, and he wasn't a champion. A lot
of baby faces are uh so yeah, I mean, I expect,
(02:31:40):
but but I don't think that is at the table either.
I think Wayne maybe mentioned that super hard to pull
off when you do it, well, it's it's one of
my favorite stories, you know. And Tody has been has
been showing, you know, maybe willingness to get his hands dirty,
(02:32:02):
and John cenas them China basking in the crowd a
little more so, I think that's not off the table.
But I guess that could still happen in still recult
and seen and retaining the title also, and he still
gets his babyface run, but it's as champion and he
goes back to saluting and running to the ring and
(02:32:23):
getting his colorful graphics, and that could be fun. I
think the crowd really wanted to cheer for him finally
before the sale time, and it's like he finally succeeded
in getting the alternate babyface actually over as a baby face,
and then he turned to heal and then you it's
happened in horrific facts, and it's been kind of pretty shitty,
(02:32:48):
I think, or the matches have been pretty shitty anyway.
But I think I think Sena will retain, but eventually
Cody will be the one that let's take a final
off of him. It just hope me for a little while.
Speaker 2 (02:33:04):
Well damn, all right, so we're getting a Cody Cena three.
Speaker 1 (02:33:13):
I hope not, but probably.
Speaker 2 (02:33:18):
I don't know. I mean, given how much the first
one underdelivered on that one, right right, I'm like they
would really have to put on a banker this time around,
I think to justify a third match.
Speaker 23 (02:33:32):
Well, I think they're both cogressing and that I think
they both know that that match was not well received. Yeah,
but I mean also the Travis Scott of it all didn't.
Speaker 5 (02:33:43):
Help matters either.
Speaker 1 (02:33:45):
Well, no, didn't at all.
Speaker 5 (02:33:49):
And then then the promise and then non delivery of
the rock. I'll say, yeah, that had a lot going
against it. That wasn't necessarily their fault. I expect, I
definitely expect a better match than the WrestleMania match, but
that thing was hot garbage. So yeah, pretty low bar.
Speaker 2 (02:34:09):
But yeah, low bar to clear.
Speaker 5 (02:34:15):
They ought to be able to do that.
Speaker 1 (02:34:18):
I would hope, are you guys gonna be able to
stay awake and watch both shows? Both nights or is
this something you think you might have to like, uh,
finish another day. It might be too big for the weekend.
Speaker 5 (02:34:35):

Saturday Night Sunday afternoon and then watching Sunday night Sunday night.

bad for me. But when I say i'll be watching
it Monday afternoon, I mean I'll be on my tablet
at at the pool watch it. But don't feel too
bad for me.
Speaker 1 (02:35:06):

you know, you don't have to watch it live, you know.
Speaker 1 (02:36:28):

shows some man be fun as hell? Wolf? What a
what a fucking prediction list here? Just not as exciting
as WrestleMania. It just does not have the gravitas that
(02:36:48):
WrestleMania brings. You know, I just don't feel it.
Speaker 5 (02:36:54):
I'm just not as Yeah, but I mean, in fairness,
this WrestleMania it was kind of weak us. Yeah, forty
one ms. Continuation of a not so great year. You know,
(02:37:15):
it might be the post the post you know, bloodline
kind of hangover. You know, they're really good for a
couple of years and they're bound to maybe fall for
a little bit.
