Jamaican oxtail and rice and macaroni cheese that one of
my lovely customers hooked me up with today.
Speaker 6 (03:19):
Nice man. Oh look you I just had a bagel? Yeah,
big woo a bagel? All right, all right, let's.
Speaker 8 (03:31):
Bring out the bad man.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Right now. So y'all doing to me?
Speaker 6 (03:48):
And why represents dirty songs and shot down.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Right was straight up and one like man, your he.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
Thrown up those horns, Doyle, Oh it's me. It's me.
Speaker 9 (04:11):
It's a Doiley And man, what a crazy week in
the wrestling world and the world in general, really, But.
Speaker 10 (04:18):
I think there's one thing we can all agree on,
and that's they got to stop showing Pentive without his
makeup and his full gimmick on, because he just looks
fucking weird with just a mask on.
Speaker 6 (04:28):
Ah, dude, doesn't he? I agree?
Speaker 11 (04:32):
Man?
Speaker 9 (04:33):
It's could be all the way or nothing, like, yeah,
fucking weird without the whole gimmick on.
Speaker 6 (04:39):
Yep, it's very true. Man without the contacts, without the
makeup on, Yeah, he looks very weird. No, you sit
in that chair and you spend the next hour and
a half of playing makeup. You know, for my pleasure
dance monkey.
Speaker 9 (04:52):
It must take it must take him fucking forever to
get ready, you know, between the makeup and the contacts
and the mask, and then he's got u like, he's
got a shirt and pants, and then he's got this
thing around his waist and he's got glumbs, and he's
got kick pads, and it's just like, what's.
Speaker 5 (05:07):
Gonna have the fucking day getting ready? Oh?
Speaker 6 (05:09):
Yeah, man, I always thought the same about the Ultimate Warrior,
you know, I was like, oh my God, must take
forever for this man to get ready, just to and
then just the runouts of the ring, you know, just
be fucking winded.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
He has all that work just for five minutes of work.
Speaker 6 (05:26):
Yeah, you want to know, you want to talk about
a guy who did that for years? Gold Dust, you
fly all the way over here, you'd ply that makeup
you get in this jumpsuit and we'll have you on
screen backstage for like thirty seconds.
Speaker 5 (05:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Well, I mean, if we're being honest at this point,
I would say probably the king of that ship is
probably I'd probably have to say Sting. Oh thing's been
doing it since the eighties and he's still doing it
to this day, although he's about to finally hang up
(06:00):
the face paint. I think right now all the appearances
he's doing now are part of his basically, uh, farewell
tour of sorts to the face paint. Yeah, and after
this he'll he'll probably still obviously be making con appearances
and stuff, but when you see him, you'll be seeing
Steve Borden, not Stinging and depending all that.
Speaker 6 (06:25):
Hmmm, that's pretty very true, man, I didn't even think
about that. But no, you're right, dude, Susan says, sound like, yep, yep, probably. Yeah.
Speaker 9 (06:37):
Actually, I got a bunch of I but Mooda doesn't
even do it anymore.
Speaker 5 (06:41):
I don't think it. He's fucking retired anyway.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
Yeah, and after a while Mooda trans transitions. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:48):
Yeah, Yeah, he's the only person I can't think of it.
Speaker 9 (06:52):
Yeah, I mean, everybody else, every other paint face painter
is either relatively new or no longer win us SO thaying,
I suppose is the king of the face pant Yeah.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
Yeah, they used to put on face pavement doesn't anymore.
It's the usso's They used to apply face past. Yeah,
at one point they used to come out and do
their samo and dance. Actually remember that entrance way back when,
way way back when.
Speaker 5 (07:25):
Yeah, they've been around for a minute.
Speaker 9 (07:28):
They're kind of like they're kind of sneakily have been.
Speaker 5 (07:30):
Around for fifteen years or whatever it is.
Speaker 6 (07:33):
I know, sneakily.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Right, they're both approaching their forties, if not already in
their forties.
Speaker 5 (07:40):
Yeah, I think they're starting nine. Yeah. Yes, In other words,
you're absolutely right.
Speaker 6 (07:51):
I got a couple of news things articles we can
go over, guys, news bumper.
Speaker 12 (08:00):
Steam, Well, I got news for you.
Speaker 6 (08:14):
News.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Mm hmmm.
Speaker 6 (08:21):
We'll start off with we'll go from small and we'll
work our way up.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (08:26):
Summer Ray has tweeted that she may be hinting up
coming back. Do you guys remember Summer Ray?
Speaker 5 (08:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (08:34):
Do you miss Summer Ray?
Speaker 6 (08:39):
Maybe if we had like if we had like, you know,
bra and panties matches, Yes, of course, bring Summer Ray back,
but we don't. R v D was supposed to be
part of John Cena's retirement tour, but he got injured,
So I don't know if anybody was itching for a
John d match.
Speaker 5 (09:01):
Uh yeah, uh.
Speaker 6 (09:12):
Guys recently Andrade got let go. Yeah, there's rumors that
he failed his wellness policy. But there's also word going
around that WW tried to contact him and just weren't
able to get hold of him for a contract extension.
I guess he just didn't want to negotiate.
Speaker 9 (09:34):
So he's getting to be one of these guys, like,
is he just a huge pan of he asked to
work with his backstage.
Speaker 10 (09:40):
Or something, because like seems to be a recurring theme
with the scot Like, I'm.
Speaker 9 (09:46):
A big I've been a fan of his. I don't
think he's been booked particularly well, so that's part of
the reason.
Speaker 5 (09:54):
But I thought this KAT team when Phoenix was starting
to take off. I think I pitched them as winning
the tag title a couple of weeks ago.
Speaker 9 (10:03):
It's so crazy, and sometimes these guys seem like they're
finally going in the right direction and then they're gone. Yeah,
but I mean it can't have been much fun working
with your.
Speaker 5 (10:12):
Ex wife, you know.
Speaker 6 (10:14):
No, I think, uh, they should have paired him back
up with Selena Vega because she's also not doing jack.
Speaker 5 (10:21):
Ship right now, she's not doing much anything.
Speaker 6 (10:24):
I think the peak when they were together.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
Yeah, yeah, some of it.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Also, I kind of wonder is he one of those
guys who thinks he's bigger or greater than what he
actually is.
Speaker 5 (10:39):
Yeah, I get the S in the main event.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Picture, right, like he sees himself as a main eventor
and the book and w W E just doesn't see
him as that. They're like, I mean, you're mid card
at best. But he's like, and it could that be
causing you know, issues or friction because he's wondering like, well,
how come I don't have a match with Cody because
like you, you ain't Cody level.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (11:03):
Yeah, I don't know what kind of I don't remember
the circumstances of him leaving a W.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
But let's say, even if he wants to go.
Speaker 9 (11:09):
Back to Mexico, right, you got Triple A is not
owned by W so that's out. And if he doesn't
have a good relationship with a W, they are in
partnership with C M L L. So that's maybe it'll go.
Speaker 5 (11:21):
I don't know anything.
Speaker 9 (11:22):
Maybe he goes to Japan, but New Japan has a
relationship with A wil.
Speaker 5 (11:27):
Sell I believe, So I don't know. I don't know
where he goes from here.
Speaker 9 (11:31):
T n A has a relationships, and as much as
there's so much content on, there's not a lot of
places to go, right.
Speaker 6 (11:42):
Yeah, honestly.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Could still go with those from I think t n
A in theory he could still work with for because
they have a relationship, but they're not owned by w W,
unlike Triple A. Well, Triple A will almos certainly be
off the table giving a w W he more or
less owns them at this point and they might not
want to take him on there. But TNA possibly they
(12:08):
could be like, okay, you can sign with TNA, but
don't actually to pop up at no NXT shows. But
we shall see.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
Yeah, yeah, be interested where he lands.
Speaker 6 (12:24):
The other day, Jerry Lawler had another stroke. Rough Man
that man has escape death several times.
Speaker 5 (12:36):
H and how old ish?
Speaker 6 (12:43):
Hey google how old is Jerry the King Lawler?
Speaker 4 (12:46):
I thought it was like seventy eight or something.
Speaker 6 (12:48):
Seventy five.
Speaker 5 (12:50):
Oh, that's the younger I thought he was. To be honest, Yeah.
Speaker 10 (12:59):
He's I'm pretty sure he's one of those guys. And
it's like never dragged, never smoked, never, I believe he
had other viteses. But it's just funny how the rattling
business seems to be full of drug addicts for people
that have never touched it and nothing in the play.
Speaker 9 (13:19):
Yeah, all right, guys, recovering, recovering drug.
Speaker 6 (13:27):
Let's get to the big news, the big news. The
other day there was a press conference, and at this
press conference there was some very miserable looking people. And
in this lineup we had Bianca bell Air, Charlotte Flair,
(13:50):
Shawn Michaels, the Undertaker, liv Morgan, Logan, Paul Seth Rawlins
and that's that quay. There we go.
Speaker 5 (14:03):
Stephanie was my favorite.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
Pronounce the name and listen at least use one of
the entertaining ones that Naomi did. Don't use them where
somebody name because they just didn't know better.
Speaker 6 (14:20):
Next episode, I gotta get du Naioli has made me laugh,
as of several of those. Stephanie, Belcrow or Anyway and
Triple h. They were all up there and you know, uh,
shoulders shoulder with good old Turkey allah I I cannot
(14:45):
pronounce this man's name, Turkey, that's his first name. Chairman
of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, Gentlemen, our
worst fear has happened. We are now going to be
having WrestleMania forty three in ri Od, Saudi Arabia.
Speaker 10 (15:05):
I'm almost positive if I predicted this would happen.
Speaker 5 (15:09):
About a year and a half ago. I actually I
think when when Pica, when the merger happened, I said, look,
look for WrestleMania to be in said, I thought it
would be maybe at that maybe in the thirties, you know,
I didn't think it would be now.
Speaker 13 (15:24):
But oil money, pistemocracy, and the main events the female
superstar revolution, mandatory turtlenecks for everyone like yeah yo.
Speaker 5 (15:38):
And seriously, with the Royal up thirty keepers enter one leadage.
Speaker 6 (15:45):
Ticket prices are going to be for billionaires. The working
class fans are exiled to the couch. Let's talk that
for a minute. Let's be realistic here, you know, uh Doyle,
I looked it up today. If I were to fly
to Saudi Arabia, it cost me roughly like fifteen hundred bucks, right,
(16:07):
and guess what, that's probably gonna be the cheap part.
It is just the flight. Yeah, I don't think the
hotels there, nor the tickets alone, I don't. I don't
see green Shirt guy being in the front row. I'm sorry, man,
I will be in the front row unless he's.
Speaker 14 (16:31):
The guy will be there.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Green Shirt Guy will be in the front row. I
do not doubt for a second man will be front
and center as part of that.
Speaker 4 (16:41):
You know, it finally came out that.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
I guess people finally figured out how he's able to
afford this ship ye talked about. Apparently he's a part
of some package thing I forgot what it was called
Go something or whatever, where he gets access to these
tickets pretty much all the time and whatever. He wants
me to just go through this thing and just get him.
Speaker 5 (17:04):
Yeah, I think he made him.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
I think he made Yeah. He apparently he does real estate.
Got the money to burn like a motherfucker, probably because
I guess he's really good at it. He's part of
this whatever program that's probably some exclusive rich people ship
where it's like, hey, rich as fuck, log into this
thing and you can get access to all these stuff
that you know that you are sold exclusively to y'all
(17:28):
that other people can't buy.
Speaker 10 (17:30):
Like he got a he got an entrance at WrestleMania,
I believe right. I think he got to be timekeeper
for one of the matches. He gets kinds of crazy
perks and ship. But he's I think he's not.
Speaker 5 (17:42):
He's not.
Speaker 9 (17:42):
I mean, I think for a long time we all
speculated he was somebody's brother, cousin, you know whatever. But
it turns out like it's a real guy that's actually
paying for all of these fucking ticket for.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
Yeah, he just does real estate I think in Florida
or something like that, and he's probably just rich as fuck.
So no, that man, as soon as they have got announced,
that man probably already got the flights booked. Don't set
it up when it takes pop all sale, he'll have
them ships. He'll have some exclusive email like I rich motherfuckers,
(18:16):
here's what y'all can do for Wrestlemantia, and he gonna
be like, yes, click by and done.
Speaker 6 (18:22):
You guys.
Speaker 9 (18:24):
I just I wonder what the what the further downstream
effects of all this will be like, Like I imagine
like the wrestle cotton people and all of the people
that run the indie shows that go on in you know,
because when when WrestleMania came to town, it was a
fucking circus.
Speaker 5 (18:41):
It was everywhere, you know what I mean. And I
can't imagine that all of that is gonna follow them
this time.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
Anyway.
Speaker 9 (18:47):
I think I think a w should run a huge
fucking show in one of the some you know, fund
in the stadium wherever.
Speaker 5 (18:55):
The Yes, yeah, I think that's what they and and
then and let card and all that shit's around that event.
Speaker 6 (19:04):
Do you guys hear who who they want to wrestle
at Wrestling forty three. They want Roman under the Giant.
They want Roman Reigns in the Rock at the main event.
They want to bring back Stone called Steve Austin. They
want to Sewan Michaels, they want to bring back the Undertaker.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
Shawn's already said no.
Speaker 5 (19:24):
Apparently, yeah, apparently.
Speaker 9 (19:26):
The deal is worth up to two hundred and fifty
million dollars. So that's contingent on all of these crazy
matches they want happening. So each time one doesn't happen,
it's like, yeah, there's twenty million left we're gonna give
you or whatever it is. But I mean, realistically, that's
that's probably going to be the last chance for you.
If Roman and Rock is ever going to happen, it's.
Speaker 5 (19:47):
Going to be there right right.
Speaker 9 (19:48):
I mean, Rock's going to be another I mean a
year and a half older now.
Speaker 5 (19:53):
But if it's not, then it'll be two and a half,
three and a half four. You know, he's just he's not.
Neither of them were getting any younger.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
Then or never.
Speaker 6 (20:02):
We're talking about slim Rock right now. Huh Rocks again,
if he lost like sixty pounds or something.
Speaker 5 (20:12):
Yeah, you've seen Batista recently. He looks pretty he lost.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
Also, Yeah, both of them are trying to Yeah, some
of us diet both also, most of them are. Both
of them are trying to take on more serious acting
roles and not just be the you know, mister action
star who does nothing. Credit to them for that. I mean,
and if obviously, you know, if Rock doesn't decide to
(20:42):
get back in the ring, if they cut enough money
for him to do the WrestleMania the Saudi Show, it's
nothing for him to bulk back.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Up, Yeah, I mean, because.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Back up or just get himself shredded out of his
mind again or whatever he has to do for the match.
Speaker 4 (21:04):
I mean that he can do. But yeah, to me,
I'm with you, Doyle.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
The most interesting stuff to me isn't WrestleMania in Saudi itself.
It's everything, like you said, everything downstream, but the fallout
from it, you know what are Like you said, it's
not WrestleMania is more than just the show itself. It's
a whole week of activities all around the whole wrestling
(21:30):
universe from wherever that wherever it takes place, that place
becomes the center of the wrestling universe for an entire week,
and it's full of shit that happens where It's indie shows,
other outside shows, wrestle Khan, all this stuff. And yeah,
it's hard for me to see all that stuff traveling
to Saudi Arabia. It's hard for me to see fans
(21:50):
traveling like that to Saudi Arabia. I know, apparently, I'm
gonna say, yeah, I know that. You know, flights are
obviously themselves are not going to be cheap, Tickets are
not going to be cheap. I don't know what the
hotel of the airbnb situation is like over there, but
apparently the green is legal over there, so they don't
(22:11):
trip on that. I mean, I guess that's one plus
that they and going for them that you know, you
could just be out there and Ria just putting it
in the air one time.
Speaker 6 (22:21):
That was crazy to book that far.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
They don't give a damn about the week.
Speaker 6 (22:27):
That far an advance straight to like book matches. Especially
we're not talking about like Roman's the youngest one in
that conversation, but we're like, I mean, you're dude, I'd
think it's impossible to see any of these guys get
back in the ring, even the rock Man, like the Rocks.
We're talking like a year and a half maybe more,
(22:48):
you know, give her a take, like, can any of
these guys put on any kind of a match? And
if so, like against too who we I don't know.
That's this typical Saudi Prince making crazy ass matches. Thank
god all the people he paid were still wet.
Speaker 10 (23:05):
I mean, when the WrestleMania rumors started, I thought it
would be greatest WrestleMania, you know what I mean, not WrestleMania, WrestleMania.
I wouldn't be surprised if they do the reverse and
in twenty twenty seven give us Super WrestleMania or whatever.
Speaker 5 (23:26):
The like as a like a I don't know, give
back or you know, distraction or whatever.
Speaker 10 (23:35):
I don't I gotta have a problem that the WrestleMania
is not going to be in North America whatever.
Speaker 5 (23:39):
Who gives it it?
Speaker 10 (23:40):
I mean, uh, And of course we you know, always
with the Saudi blood, money stuff or whatever.
Speaker 9 (23:46):
But you know, the fans in Saudi Arabia whatever they're
they're I'm sure they're all fine people.
Speaker 10 (23:50):
They deserve entertainment as much as we all do. But
I feel like reflicon probably.
Speaker 9 (23:56):
Would follow to London or to Paris, or to Mai
or whatever the fuck you know, uh, whereas it's just
I just don't see it following to Saudi Arabia.
Speaker 4 (24:07):
Yeah that we know, stuff like that would travel to
those places.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Just look at the Olympics and how you know when
that comes to us to a city, it takes over
for two weeks.
Speaker 4 (24:17):
So it's nothing for it. Wrestle media.
Speaker 5 (24:21):
Area of the world.
Speaker 9 (24:23):
Now they're doing all this stuff like they're trying to
build it up into the It's part of the thing
called rehod season.
Speaker 5 (24:29):
I think it's called.
Speaker 9 (24:30):
They're kind of they and I think this year it
is a huge comedy festival in rehod A huge, like
like I mean, like Dave Chapel and Bill Burr and
you know, everybody you've ever heard that's currently doing stand
up comedy.
Speaker 5 (24:45):
Right now is going to be exist thing.
Speaker 9 (24:47):
Uh and you know, and they got the but it's
all part of the sports washing thing that they're they're
doing with the live golf.
Speaker 5 (24:53):
They're just trying to make you forget that they kill
American journalists. They just hit one of their own journalists
like a couple of weeks ago. We didn't get that
of the news over here. But it's just like I
think that's the it's.
Speaker 9 (25:06):
Just the level of we don't give a shit about
the fans ness about this whole thing. It's just I
think it's gonna get them at something, you know, like
it's gonna get it and a year.
Speaker 5 (25:17):
And who knows what this business even looks like, you know,
like I feel like the.
Speaker 9 (25:23):
Bottom is getting ready to drop out, you know, like
I've been saying it ebbs and flows, and I think
it's about to fall off a cliff popularity wise, but
we still see.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
Yeah, we'll see. I don't know if it would.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
I think, like like you said, yeah, it does EBB
and flow. I don't know that I can see wrestling
at this point falling off a total cliff. I can
see it having maybe a lean some lean years more
so more so, I think at this point it's kind
of reached a certain level of just Maine stream acceptance
(26:02):
that we're not going to have, you know, the struggle
that we saw from like WWF and the nineties pre
attitude era, Like we're not going to see that new
generation era struggle again with them. I think they're a
little too mainstream now and too you know, too much
(26:22):
too well accepted at this point for that to happen.
And you mean, pretty much all these wrestlers are becoming
household names, not just the biggest stars. Like everybody knows
of everybody at this point. So I think they have
a certain level of immunity to it. But yeah, they
can still have some lean years or some stuff whereas
(26:44):
the product is maybe a bit down. But I think
they've reached the point where they well enough to.
Speaker 5 (26:52):
Appear or anything. I'm not suggesting that, Yeah, I think
the days of every shows or record gate.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
Might be my yeah, like they can have that, you know,
or like they're not hitting record gates every time. But
I think they'll still have they'll still be putting up
strong numbers.
Speaker 5 (27:17):
I think, you know, like a lot of business or something.
Speaker 9 (27:21):
All the almost pro sports, at least on the on
the professional major aid levels, they're doing the same thing.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
I mean, what if twenty if twenty five pertend of
the seats are unsold.
Speaker 9 (27:34):
We got, you know, however much for the all the
dip ships sitting right behind home Plate all paid you know,
eight times, but they were paying.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
Five ten years ago. You know, they're going after the
That's the business model now, is the is going after
the whales. And if the little guys can't afford, it's
so fucking yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
I don't think they're I don't see them going to
a point where you know, they're out where they can't
sell out stadiums and they're gonna have to We're gonna
have to go back to the smaller arenas or anything
like that. Like, I don't I don't see them falling
off that bad. I think if they put a show
in the stadium, it's still gonna sell. You know, shows
(28:15):
like what we just saw this friday, you know in
my local area when SmackDown was at the scope. Shows
like that are just gonna be fewer and fewer far between.
These smaller you know, ten thousand seed or less stadiums
or arenas that they have shows in those will be
you know, you're random once in the blue Moon throwaways.
(28:38):
Maybe maybe worst case scenario, if they get lean, you
might see an uptick in those type of shows where
it's like, okay, businesses down, We're gonna have to book
more you know, ten to twelve thousand seat arenas as
opposed to the fifteen twenty thousand and up arenas. Maybe
(28:59):
that I think it's about as much as bad as
they could get for WWE right now, unless something absolutely
disastrous were to happen.
Speaker 6 (29:14):
It's absolutely insane, like Doyle said, they're going to go
for the whales right with these ticket prices and the
insane prices that they're charging. And you know, we're stuck
at home on the couch, but we're paying thirty dollars
a month now, you know, some of us.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
But people, some people will end up doing the same
doing like what like what just happened? I can get
given that they were just here. I can use us
as an example here in Norfolk where SmackDown was here
tickets went on sale, and initially when tickets first went
(29:53):
on sale, the cheapest seats, right, we're talking the two
intersection of the note of the Norfolk Scope. Nose bleeds
seed even though Scope is not really a big arena,
So nose bleed ain't that bad, you know. Nose bleed
at the Scope is probably better seas than what we
had at WrestleMania, but still I digress. Cheapest seats at
then the Scope, we're going for two hundred and fifty bucks.
(30:19):
Ringside seats, front row we're going for well over one thousand,
like almost approached somewhere like one thousand to twelve hundred
bucks for just a random episode of SmackDown.
Speaker 5 (30:33):
Yes, yes, actually I'm sorry finished.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
Yeah, and yes, some of those seats sold, I'm not
like they definitely sold some of them seats Like you said,
the whales and the people like that that they go
after who just have the money.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
Yeah, it's coming, they're going to fork it up.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
Yes, some of those expensive, most expensive seats definitely sold
and sold quickly, but a good chunk of that arena
was not sold until maybe the last two weeks before
it came to town. And that's because and that's when
ticket prices started to plummet. They I was the section
(31:13):
that I sat in that I was eyeballing when I
first checked the prices. Those tickets were going from between
six to eight hundred bucks and I was like, ain't
no way in hell I'm pining.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
I'm not paying that. I would like to sit there,
but I'm not paying that price.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
I was looking at another section behind that that was
in the one hundred seats and those were going for
about five and that was about the max I was
willing to pay if I was going to go, And
at that point I was still on the fence. The
last two weeks them ticket prices started to drop. The
same seats that I was looking at that were originally
(31:51):
going into six to eight hundred rains they dropped down
to the five hundred dollars price point, and I was
considering them, but I was like, nope, I'm gonna wait.
I'm gonna hold out see if they drop a little
bit further. By the time I finally got my ticket,
and I got my ticket the week of that Monday night,
those tickets that again were in the six to eight
(32:11):
hundred dollars range. I bought it for two hundred and
thirty bucks. That's fees included. So the ticket itself was
two hundred and thirty dollars. Thirty dollars were in fees.
So I think a lot of people are gonna end
up doing that. So they mean they can price in
how they want, but people have a limit, and if
(32:34):
they price them people out, then yeah, the whales, the
people with money to burn, they'll buy them. But a
lot of these arenas will be half sold or barely
sold until they dropped the price to something more reasonable
that people are willing to pay. Those cheapest tickets that
I paid that where I said we're going for two
(32:55):
hundred week of they had dropped down to seventy bucks,
and that's when they started moving.
Speaker 5 (33:01):
Was this the secondary market or was this the tickets dynamic? No?
Speaker 3 (33:07):
Yeah, direct sale through ticketmaster or at least in this area,
it's called seven Venues. Is this retailer for that? But
seven Venues runs through Ticketmaster? Yeah?
Speaker 9 (33:18):
Interesting, Well, you know I was gonna say, uh, if
they played our cards right, this is a great opportunity
for a w make some moves.
Speaker 5 (33:26):
Here, Like I just went to a show.
Speaker 9 (33:29):
Also granted of his collision but and it was but
understand in the fifth throw for like seventy bucks.
Speaker 5 (33:36):
Yeah, so, I mean it was the it was the
in the east w are and so, but it was
not you know, it wasn't a big venue at all
or anything.
Speaker 9 (33:49):
But it was like, I'd rather know a five a
W shows for the price of half of a of
a big time w w E event.
Speaker 5 (33:57):
It seems like, uh, the see you know, much more
as sensible little closer and you know, yep, yeah, I
could have yelled and they would have heard, you know,
I Yeah.
Speaker 6 (34:08):
Those are always the best when you were thinking yelling
disiness and they actually hear you. That's always like, you know,
but you couldn't even get.
Speaker 5 (34:18):
In the door for seventy dollars, you said, yea, or
or not until the week of or whatever.
Speaker 3 (34:23):
Right, Yeah, you had to wait till the last minute
to get those bleak seats at seventy bucks, right, I.
Speaker 5 (34:30):
Said, brow.
Speaker 9 (34:32):
I basically sat, Uh actually I was a little farther
towards the ring post, but basically sat where you and
I sat ray except when they had a rise there,
but basically the same seat.
Speaker 5 (34:46):
That was pretty close.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
Yeah, and to your earlier point about aw Win wrestle Media.
I'm in agreement with you there. I would love to
see them, you know, basically take a page of ww's book.
Since w W wants to counter program everything that they do,
I would love to see a W be like, oh,
y'all take it, WrestleMania Saudi Arabia. I bet we're gonna
(35:11):
do something here in the States and then let everything
else decide where they want to go.
Speaker 5 (35:19):
Because WrestleMania is going to have to start at eleven
in the morning or something like that.
Speaker 6 (35:25):
I didn't even think about that. That's gonna suck.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Well, no, yeah, it'll be Yeah, if it's at starts
at guess seven o'clock their time, then yeah, WrestleMania that
year would be at like one o'clock in the afternoon
our time or noon or something.
Speaker 5 (35:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (35:43):
Well, you know what, it'll be nice because it'll be
the first time, you know, it'll be over before like
seven o'clock PM. Yeah, right, like smack in the middle
of your fucking day though, two days.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
In a row, which I mean yeah, I mean, if
Tony Kahn is smart, he would be he'd now yeah,
especially that area scouting the.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
Venue, he'd be like, all right, bet we're about to
book us all in right and go directly up against
w W E because I mean they have w W
has absolutely left the door open for them to counter
the ship out of them. Do a big show, give
us an all in here in the States, go all
(36:31):
in and like I said, go all out in for it,
go all out and let let the wrestling world decide.
You let wrestle kan decide where you want to be at.
You want to follow w W to Saudi Arabia or
do you want to come with us here to you know,
you know, Texas to Jerry World or something or so
Far or whatever wherever you know, wile where you want
(36:54):
to have a mania, you want to have it here
with a W here in the States, or you want
to try to pull off walle Mania in Riot.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
By the way, we we definitely illegal in Tull Arabia.
Speaker 9 (37:11):
And so with alcohol, like I can't imagine siting through
ten hours of WrestleMania to have a beer, Oh my.
Speaker 6 (37:19):
God, Nope, not for me. Yeah, uh all right, guys, uh,
I think that's that. That's all I got for that
segment for news. But so I've been thinking about it.
I've been trying time and time again to get this
(37:41):
bracket off the ground. But every time I get excited
and I think I got a wee bit of space.
There's there's a there's a pay per view, right fucking there.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
Ah, I love it.
Speaker 5 (37:56):
Well, there's one every three weeks now.
Speaker 6 (38:00):
Yeah, man, it's it's ridiculous. And I just wanted to
think of a better way to maybe get this done.
So it's going to be a slow burn, but you
know what, fuck it, let it be. Let it be,
because I haven't work on something else, something bigger, something better.
(38:20):
So I scoured the internet. I've looked up ones that
I could find quite popular across different boards and websites,
and I gathered all my information and we are going
to do for our first bracket fantasy matches that have
(38:40):
never happened. These are fantasy matches that people on Reddit
have requested on There's another there's a couple of like
a website that quests or quarrel or something like that
that you can ask questions too, and you can get polls.
And I would to a bunch of other websites, and
(39:01):
I pulled a bunch of these matches together. There were
some ridiculous ones, and I was like, Okay, maybe I
won't put those in there. I'm not gonna give you
guys a readout of all of them because I want
I want this to be on the fly. I don't
want you guys to know what's coming. I don't know,
I don't I feel like it would it's gonna mess
(39:25):
with I don't know future matches. I feel like it's
just better you guys just find out, like the listeners aren't.
And I think I'm gonna have you guys both take
a vote, and then I guess if we have to
break it, I'll be the tiebreaker.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
What are we voting on?
Speaker 5 (39:42):
Exactly?
Speaker 6 (39:44):
So it's gonna be two matches to fantasy matches, right,
and we're gonna vote out of those two fantasy matches
which one we would rather see over the other?
Speaker 3 (39:56):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 9 (39:57):
Follow our question the matches that might actually happen in
twenty twenty five, or it's just like no Giant versus
Big Show.
Speaker 4 (40:06):
Yeah, this is will never happen.
Speaker 6 (40:09):
Yeah, yeah, these are most likely never to happen. A
lot of these are, you know, Yeah, definitely these are
all w W E. But you do have to think
that all of these wrestlers are in their prime. So
when I do mention somebody from maybe the nineties and
somebody from my current wrestling like, think prime, you know.
(40:31):
So you know we're gonna bring up guys like Stoke
called Steve Austin and the Rock just in your head?
What was your best version of him? You know, and
you're you're more than welcome to to put up that
argument of why you think that man we're a woman
is better.
Speaker 4 (40:52):
Okay, So.
Speaker 6 (40:55):
We are going to start off with this first match.
Where's my pen? Because I gotta I want to actually
rewrite this and make this bracket really nice, considering I
might have this for quite some time. All right, guys,
first matchup, we have Sean Michaels versus Seth Freaking Rollins versus.
(41:19):
So it's that match versus Big Daddy Diesel versus Drew McIntyre.
So you have these two separate fantasy matches. I know
some of these are gonna be easy choices. Some of
these are gonna be hard.
Speaker 5 (41:39):
When you said when you said Michaels rawlins, I almost
just said Michael.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
I almost said it as soon as you said Big
Daddy Cools like Michael's rawlins.
Speaker 6 (41:50):
Yeah, okay, so that's what. So yeah, like so let's
let's you know, let's spend a little bit of time here, Like,
so you guys are both a in HBK and Seth Rawlins.
Speaker 5 (42:01):
Right, Yeah.
Speaker 9 (42:05):
I mean, I love, love, love Drew McIntyre, but like
in terms of like and Kevin Asher is a good
on the stick and everything, and you know, it's not terrible,
but I don't see him putting on a match, even
with Drew McIntyre, that it would even be nearly on
(42:26):
the level of Michaels and Rowlands, right.
Speaker 5 (42:30):
I think he's the weak lank of the other four.
Speaker 3 (42:32):
You know what, Even if they're saying it's big daddy
cool Diesel, which I'm taking as exclusively his first run
in w W, I'm not even factoring in, you know,
Kevin Nash w c W n w O version of him,
which I personally think was peak Nash. I'm just looking
(42:53):
at just jet black, hair, glove Diesel, that version of
him versus Drew and he No, I don't see them.
I don't see them gelling well together in a match.
Whereas HBK and Seth Rollins, you're talking about two of
(43:14):
the best n ring workers in the history of wrestling
who can come up with shit on the fly, like
the way that match would go.
Speaker 9 (43:23):
My god, yeah, this this says one one sixteen vibes
or like two fifteen five?
Speaker 6 (43:31):
Yeah. Now, so let me let me ask you guys
this which is one sixteen bracket, which version of HBK
would you like to see?
Speaker 5 (43:39):
Like?
Speaker 6 (43:40):
Are we thinking like before he left after his back
injury or are we thinking like when he came back in.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
What year is that?
Speaker 6 (43:48):
Two thousand and two, two thousand and two, two thousand
and two? Are we thinking that? Are we thinking his uh?
Like I I personally think for me Sean Michaels, I
would say closer to his end of his career when
he was fighting Taker.
Speaker 1 (44:03):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (44:04):
That's the shaw Michaels I want to see versus seth
rowans of. Maybe I'm trying to think my favorite version
of Rawns like I would like to see.
Speaker 3 (44:18):
I'm thinking the opposite. I'm thinking I think I'll go with.
Speaker 5 (44:21):
The post comeback as well, Okay, Like I think he
did his best work after after he came back.
Speaker 9 (44:29):
I mean, granted he couldn't quite do as much right,
but I think he's a better storyteller, and he was
you know, he was off druns and he wasn't a
can of balls.
Speaker 5 (44:39):
I guess that he was in the nineties, you guys
had his head on a little straighter.
Speaker 3 (44:43):
I think, Yeah, I mean, I agree, I think probably
second run Shawn Michaels was a better overall storyteller, definitely
better former. But I'm thinking at it as just from
a pure athletics standpoint. If pure in ring capability standpoint,
(45:07):
I'm I'm still would pick first run Sean. He was
he had the speed, he had the ability, he could
do anything and everything in the ring and still and
still tell good stories. Still had that guy. It was
just you know, he had the backstage demons, but and
ring that was fucking untouchable. First Run, So that that's
(45:31):
the guy I want to see. If I'm talking prime
peak Shawn Michael, I want to see that Shawn Michaels
take on seth Rollins.
Speaker 5 (45:42):
Okay, I'm gonna.
Speaker 3 (45:47):
The era.
Speaker 6 (45:53):
Yeah, Now it's good because this is going to I'm
looking like I'm looking ahead of little bit here, So
I mean, I think this is gonna be good. This bracket,
the way it's going to get down, and it's I
mean right now. Yes, it's going to be very easy
the first few rounds, but after that, you know it's
gonna get tighter and tighter, and it's gonna get a
(46:13):
lot fucking harder. I wish I could tell you, guys,
I wish I could, but I can't. I can't, all right,
So we're in agreement. HBK versus seth freaking Rollins advances
to the next round. Next episode, I will bring up
another one, and so on and so forth until we're done,
(46:35):
and then we'll figure out what will our next bracket be.
So let's get in to this p L E. Shall
we this very first p L E? On ESPN? It's
no longer on the cock So if you don't have
ESPN and you're not tuned in at the kickoff show
(46:59):
I believe starts it six thirty, you're just getting earlier
and earlier, so early that Russell Mendia forty three will
start at one in the afternoon, so early. That's how
we're just dialing it back even further.
Speaker 3 (47:12):
Well, one way or the other, this is going to
be viewed on some sort of PN. Yeah, I agree,
ESPN ORP.
Speaker 6 (47:22):
I am so interested though, guys in knowing the number.
They're not going to give us the real numbers, but
like just to know general numbers of how how much
did sales go up? Like for ESPN plus, did they
get a lot of subscribers? You know, is it less?
Speaker 5 (47:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (47:40):
Is it way less than ww expected? Like oh shit,
like we were expecting you know, a way.
Speaker 4 (47:46):
We're not going to report it if it's less.
Speaker 3 (47:48):
You'll have to look for some sort of third party
outlet that yeah, to somehow get a scoop or something
like that, and they'll probably use whatever type of math
they need to inflate the numbers, Like they'll use a
person like me who's grandfathered into ESPN through the old bundle,
even though I don't have ESPN Unlimited, which is the
(48:11):
thing that they're really actually trying to sell people on
because that's what gets you the PLS and the WWE stuff.
Speaker 4 (48:18):
But they'll use somebody like me.
Speaker 3 (48:19):
And say, oh, our ESPN app now has blah blah
blah subscribers, and like, you know, seventy percent of that
number could be people who are already subscribed and just
got rolled over. Maybe thirty percent of it is like
quote unquote new subscribers they're not gonna report that new
subscriber number if it doesn't look extraordinarily good, They'll just
(48:42):
say they'll just report the overall number and say, oh,
ESPN has twelve million subscribers or whatever. Yeah, and like
ten of those twelve were people who already had the
shit through Disney Plus or bundles or whatever. Yeah, they're
going to present it in a way that makes it
(49:02):
look as good as.
Speaker 4 (49:03):
Possible, of course.
Speaker 6 (49:06):
Yeah, were we gonna see.
Speaker 9 (49:10):
Okay, yeah, I have I have the old ESPN Plus
whatever it's called. I think it's called ESPN Select. Now
I believe I do not have the Unlimited either, So yeah,
I I I'll probably NEEDNT work anyways, so I'll probably
have to watch it.
Speaker 5 (49:29):
Sence that just has like daily emotion or whatever.
Speaker 9 (49:32):
But I don't as far as I can tell, it's
because it's still has all out starting at seven or
eight or whatever h on the my pay per view
menu on my cable box. Now, if they put it
on traditional pay per view, I can watch it h
by it with credits that don't exist.
Speaker 5 (49:52):
Uh, but if they don't put it on.
Speaker 9 (49:55):
Traditional pay per view, yeah, I'm gonna be I'm gonna
be uh, putting on.
Speaker 5 (49:58):
The old eye patch and getting out the wooden leg. Yeah,
stay with the scene. Slip the old Jolly Roger there.
Speaker 6 (50:11):
Russell Paluza was the name of professional wrestling event produced
by e c W. If it sounds like a nineties
pay per view name, it's because it was. It was
in nineteen ninety five, nineteen ninety seven, nineteen ninety eight,
and in two thousand. In nineteen ninety eight.
Speaker 9 (50:28):
Yeah, I'm saying the first concert I ever went to
was was Lollapalooza. The second time, which was nineteen ninety two.
So yeah, the super nineties name, and I think it's
a fucking terrible name. It sounds so stupid. Paluza just
sounds idiotic.
Speaker 5 (50:44):
It's one of those things like.
Speaker 9 (50:48):
It's kind of embarrassing when a non wrestling person hears it,
you know, or at least I feel like it would be,
it's like, oh what what what? What show are you watching?
At least Thomas Lamb sounds like, you know, but just
sounds stupid.
Speaker 6 (51:03):
Poloza definition a wild, crazy and extravagant party.
Speaker 3 (51:11):
Like of all the names that they acquired through their
e c W W c W perk, that's.
Speaker 4 (51:21):
It sounds dumb.
Speaker 3 (51:22):
It's like they wanted to come up with something similar
to WrestleMania without calling it WrestleMania right up before I
used Russell Paloza.
Speaker 6 (51:35):
K would have been a good one, right, Like they
haven't you star.
Speaker 4 (51:42):
K at all since they bought w C W have they?
Speaker 5 (51:45):
Mm hmm, I don't think.
Speaker 6 (51:48):
Wait, do you think they may have done n X T.
Speaker 5 (51:52):
I don't know if they ever did n X Halloween
Havoc and the Great American bade the super Bowl. I
don't think they remember that super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (52:01):
That one's fuck.
Speaker 3 (52:02):
How do you use super Bowl?
Speaker 4 (52:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (52:05):
Twenty twenty nineteen, uh, twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen, The star
kad what I really really?
Speaker 4 (52:20):
Twenty nineteen a U star kid.
Speaker 6 (52:21):
Like seventeen nineteen, seventeen eighteen and nineteen xt uh I
think so it doesn't really say.
Speaker 4 (52:31):
I don't we call it any any WWE star KP.
Speaker 6 (52:34):
No, Yeah, it's ww man like on the cover, like
on the poster board, like Becky Lynch is the Women's Champion,
Bobby Lashley, I'm looking at Lacy Evans, Kevin Owens, Russives,
Sasha Banks. Okay, so like real quick because like I'm
not trying to dig into this and go off topic,
(52:54):
but like names on. The main event was Bray Wyatt
versus On Strowman in a cage match for the Universal title.
I know, right, A fucking eludes me too, eludes the
ship out of me. Roman Reigns versus King, Corbin Orton
(53:15):
versus aj Styles, Ricochet versus Andrade with Selina Vega. Alistair
Black defeated Andrade with Selina Vega. Bobby Lashley with Lana,
Kevin Owens defeated Kevin Owens. Like, yeah, take me back,
which is which is crazy?
Speaker 4 (53:36):
Russell Mania?
Speaker 6 (53:38):
Yeah, that would have been a great one, but no. Yeah,
when I was making an event invite to a bunch
of friends to come over to my house, I was saying,
come on over for Russell Palooza, and as I was
typing it as like I sound.
Speaker 5 (54:00):
Embarrassed, I was a little bit.
Speaker 6 (54:02):
It's a little bit, and I was like wrestler, and
I like, you can invite that one friend who doesn't
watch wrestling, and they're like, what the fuck is Russell Palooza.
It's a big event, Like what do I gotta wear?
Just what do you mean? What do you gotta wear?
Just clothes, Like what the fuck?
Speaker 4 (54:23):
I wonder how the w like how the ESPN folks
felt about it. I don't have a.
Speaker 3 (54:27):
Show with y'all, all right, which one is gonna be? H.
We're gonna come up with one just for you guys,
something exclusively to y'all. We're not gonna use the old
ones just for ESPN just to kick it off with
a bang. It's gonna be Wrussell Palooza.
Speaker 6 (54:42):
And they were like, well, I mean we can tell
that they are pretty out of touch over there on
ESPN with what even w W is right, Doyle And
with that said, I I'm gonna play this clip how
much out of touch are they? Here we go.
Speaker 7 (55:03):
Their first ESPN Premium Live event, w W E. Wressell
Palooza from Gudeanapolis. John Santa gets blocked Lester in the
main event. Lewis your thoughts on Santa versus Lester? You're
gonna break that down.
Speaker 5 (55:16):
I'll tell you what, Rock Lesler, he doesn't look human
as big as that man is.
Speaker 9 (55:21):
He looks like he's gotten that look.
Speaker 5 (55:22):
He looks like some of the dudes yeah that we
saw down the field and free game.
Speaker 10 (55:25):
I was I was like, is that brock Lesner out
there in Jersey forty four.
Speaker 7 (55:29):
That's Saturday seventies, you're streaming of the holiday ESPN.
Speaker 9 (55:32):
OW John s Now like some of these, some of these,
like I'm pretty sure there's Chris Fowler, who's been there
for fucking ever. Like some of these old old school
sportscasters are gonna be like beside themselves, right that they.
Speaker 5 (55:47):
Have to, like.
Speaker 3 (55:49):
Right, they probably look down on for the longest time,
like the of course we're not doing that wrestling ship
and now they're sitting they're talking.
Speaker 5 (55:57):
About it, like, oh wow, now he has to yuck
it up about.
Speaker 3 (56:02):
It was ridic I'm sure he knows. I'm not saying
Louis Ridick is like a wrestling fan, but he at
least he sounded like he knew what he was talking about,
talking about brock Lessner and how massive that dude is.
Speaker 9 (56:13):
Right, sure, yeah, but like, le course I was gonna
sit and talk about uh like I don't know.
Speaker 5 (56:26):
Someone think it's called but I'm feeling it's like something
someone older older.
Speaker 3 (56:37):
There are some people, but of course there are some
people at ESPN who probably are well, I'm almost certain
that there are some people at ESPN who are wrestling
fans and genuinely product and all that stuff, and some
who are, even if they're not week to week watching,
are still somewhat familiar with it. I think just this
(56:57):
past week, uh yesterday, in fact, on First Take, they
had Seth Brolins and Paul Hayman up there. They were
doing an interview with Steven A. Smith. And you know,
Steve Asmith has said it himself, like, you know, he
he used to watch it. He was a big fan
back to the day. He's not a week to week
watcher now, but he's in touch with the product enough
(57:20):
that he can talk with these people about the product,
about what's going on. And you could tell him and
Paul Haman have somewhat of a friendship together or some
friendly interaction just by the way they the back and
forth interaction that they were having. That's probably been built
up through the numerous appearances that Paul Hayman has made
on First Take, whether it was him and rock Leslan
(57:41):
showing up, or him and Roman showing up, and now
him and Seth showing up. So there's they have enough
people there at the company to respectfully, I guess is
the best word respectfully cover the product, as long as
they make sure they pick and choose care who they
(58:02):
let's talk about it and not have the old Monday
night football guy try to read a prompt for it,
who clearly doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.
Speaker 9 (58:11):
But they, But they also when they when they launched
the WWE content on this app, which I don't have,
so I didn't see this is mine.
Speaker 5 (58:18):
Own two eyes and I don't know what outside now,
but when it first launched, the.
Speaker 9 (58:24):
Thumbnails they had for Rod SmackDown or whatever, or the
sections or whatever, we're just so out of date, like
you know, people haven't worked there for sixty years on
the summer, you know, like I even made like Carrico
and you know, like bron.
Speaker 5 (58:40):
Strowman, and you know the people aren't around anymore or whatever.
Speaker 9 (58:42):
It's like, obviously whoever did this just found something, found
the first picture they could find and stuck it out there.
Speaker 5 (58:49):
I think it's just probably a.
Speaker 4 (58:50):
Little placeholder, but definitely, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (58:53):
As much as there are plenty of people that do
follow it, I'm sure there's finding people that couldn't give
a ship. And I mean it's gonna be anounce net.
Speaker 9 (58:59):
I mean, and then we'll get a complete botch like
Chris Fowler gave, but it's not my father look forward to.
Speaker 3 (59:07):
But to their credit, if you go on to ESPN's website,
WWE has its own section right there with everything else
is boxing, MMA, NFL, NBA, Racing, WWE.
Speaker 5 (59:21):
Bah Yeah, well yeah.
Speaker 6 (59:25):
What doesn't huh nice? All right, guys, let's let's get
into this card here. We only have five cards, five
matches on the card, which is kind of standard. Uh.
It is going to be in the Gainbridge Field House
in Indianapolis, Indiana. After this p l E will be
(59:51):
No Mercy. No Mercy is supposed to take place September
twenty seventh, NXT and that will be on Peacock still
nxc pls will be on Peacock for the remainder of
the year. But everything else.
Speaker 9 (01:00:11):
I just read tell me that that has no plans
to put the put the library on there, So I
don't know what the fuck.
Speaker 5 (01:00:19):
Is gonna have on the library.
Speaker 6 (01:00:22):
Wonderful, but that's the whole separated disappear.
Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
Well. They they currently have articles about the undisputed w
w E Championship history and articles on the w w
E Tag Team Championship history and.
Speaker 4 (01:00:44):
Other things.
Speaker 5 (01:00:46):
M hm hmmmmm.
Speaker 6 (01:00:54):
Uh, let's start off with let's start with the win
his match. Here, we have EO Sky versus.
Speaker 7 (01:01:09):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (01:01:10):
Trust me, next episode, I'll try to get some other ones.
So when Naomi got pregnant, she was forced to vacate
the Women's World Championship. It created an opportunity for a
number one contenders and Stephanie and the former champion EO
Sky Uh to fight for the top prize on the
women's division. They're both popular baby faces right now, so
(01:01:35):
that's uh, it's a little creative difference right there. Normally
we always have one face.
Speaker 5 (01:01:40):
That's the opportunity like they handed. I mean, I think
this should have been the match that I'm fine with that,
but they just handed that video.
Speaker 11 (01:01:48):
That couldn't make We couldn't get a.
Speaker 5 (01:01:50):
Couple of series of matches where EO come out earns it. Yeah,
I believe Harmony Hall it's time of shun you know,
guaranteed or whatever. So I have no problem with her
going right to the match. But like we couldn't have
had even the three winning on raw the winner faces
or something like that.
Speaker 3 (01:02:07):
Anything, yeay with it in this sense, just because it
avoids the pretense and just gets to the thing that
we already knew was gonna happen. Like even if they
would have had a match like it'd been EO versus
Who versus who. You know, if they would have been
a match exactly, you know they're gonna throw Ria in
(01:02:28):
the match, and okay, they throw another third person in there.
That third person you know doesn't stand a chance.
Speaker 5 (01:02:35):
So what you're really another opportunity for Io to Pinria.
We get to furner that story had a little more
depth to that.
Speaker 3 (01:02:44):
But that exactly, and that's the thing that I want
to avoid for the moment. Again, I'm the person who's
advocated that this be a years in the making storyline
where Ria just can't beat Eo. But if you do
too much of it and a short time span, then
you almost kind of you speak. You shortened the timeline
(01:03:08):
before Rhea has to eventually go over. I think they
did it for a while. It was a storyline. Now
we can step back away from it and when the
time is right, we can get back to it. But
if they'd have done it again and just beat that
I won't say a dead horse, but if they'd have
beat that drum again, of damn once again Rhea can't
(01:03:30):
get it. Then you run the risk of people itching
to have Ria go over too soon, and then you
end up having to get to that climax a little
too soon because you've done so much of it at
this point in such a short condensed time frame. So
I'm okay with the fact that they didn't do it
(01:03:50):
this time, and they just again skipped all the pretests
and just got to EO versus you know, Stephanie Vequer.
So this is what instance where I'm I'm fine with
them just picking and not just giving us yet another
tournament or another triple threat with an outcome that we
already know is gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (01:04:11):
Mm hm, just skip it and get to it.
Speaker 5 (01:04:15):
While we're there.
Speaker 6 (01:04:18):
Uh yeah, let's get into let's get into this. Uh
I think, uh we're gonna have Stephanie walk away with
the title given. I know EOS guy is so over
right now. But the intense rivalry she's having with Damage
(01:04:40):
Control for former damage control teammates, the Kabuki Warriors, Yeah,
she's opposed to partner up with Ria Ripley, probably to
settle it. Uh, not poised a should say to partner
up with Ria Ripley to settle it. It'd be interesting
(01:05:00):
to see Stephanie with the title. I don't know all
much about her from NXT, but I do like her.
Speaker 4 (01:05:09):
She couldn't nuts.
Speaker 6 (01:05:10):
Huh.
Speaker 4 (01:05:12):
She cooked, Yeah, she was cooking n XT and uh.
Speaker 6 (01:05:17):
I think it'd be awesome. Sometimes like an opportunity like
this comes along where you can get thrown into the spotlight.
And I think they're gonna put on hell of a
match because I mean, you're you're doing it with fucking
Eo Sky. She's gonna give you a great fucking match.
I don't see any interference though, like I don't see
(01:05:40):
the Kabookie Warriors interfering. I think she's gonna lose clean
and then I think the drama will unfold afterwards. But yeah,
definitely for the wind Drey.
Speaker 3 (01:06:03):
I agree that Stephanie Vickerr is gonna win, Yeah, but
I do think that there's I disagree that she's gonna
win clean. I think that in some way, shape or form,
shenanigans are going to happen m because and that's gonna
cost EO the win, and that's gonna create more tension
(01:06:25):
between her and OSCA, and somehow real will probably get
dragged into this as well, because I ain't the way
they're about to have.
Speaker 4 (01:06:34):
This Russell Baluza show. And Rea Ripley ain't on this
motherfucker somewhere exactly like it just just ain't nowhere. That's
just not happening.
Speaker 3 (01:06:42):
They gonna get her in this on that television screen
some way, shape or form, and it's gonna happen in
this match, and that's gonna end up costing EO the match,
and it's gonna just create more tension, which will ultimately,
you know, move that story lying forward. And that's what
makes and that storyline is so great because it doesn't
(01:07:04):
need the title. They can just have tension and beef
with each other for personal reasons, whereas Stephanie can move
on as the champion and begin to take on challengers,
probably starting with Judgment Day and eventually maybe a Becky
Lynch or a Bailey if whenever Bailey, whatever side her
(01:07:28):
brain wants to be on week to week. But there's
space for you know, Stephanie Vicaire to be a fighting
champion while the story and the drama is taking place
with EO and Osca and Rhea, which I don't think
it's going to be settled in a tag match. I
think a tag match is just going to be another step,
(01:07:51):
another chapter in the story. The ultimate settling or the
ultimate climax of this is going to be EO versus
Oskam at point, whether that's a whether that's a Survivor
Series match, or this storyline plays out to the Rumble
or I'd be hard pressed to see how they could
pull it off. But if somehow they manage to drag
this fucker all the way to WrestleMania, that'd be a
(01:08:14):
long ass story to tell at the rate they're going
right now. But that's that's gonna be to me. The
climax of the storyline is EO versus Oscar, one on
one at.
Speaker 4 (01:08:25):
A pl.
Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
But for the match, yourself, Stephie Vicer wins due to
outside interference from somebody either Oscar or Kyrie or Real.
One of those three cost Eo the title and stephaniely
picks up the win.
Speaker 4 (01:08:49):
What do you think?
Speaker 5 (01:08:51):
Yeah, well, we're all in agreement. I think we're getting
this first time champion here, I believe. Yeah, it's funny
when you said you thought that.
Speaker 9 (01:08:59):
There wouldn't in interference and I was thinking of myself
if if there's good, if any of these matches are
gonna have interference, it's gonna be this. Yeah, just going
on the same line, the great us that every Ripley
is absolutely going to be on the show somehow.
Speaker 5 (01:09:13):
Uh, and this is the spot to be in and
it's he is, I mean the OA and Cayrie Thane
will be also. Uh yeah, I mean ordinarily, I feel like, uh, you.
Speaker 14 (01:09:25):
Know, it's so early for step she even remembered the
company a year or maybe just a little over.
Speaker 9 (01:09:30):
And at this point, you know, normally with some of
the magnificant the title tie and I go on too soon,
they're not destables enough. But at fuh hell, I mean,
in fact, this this is this is matching the night,
if not managing of the Year contender.
Speaker 5 (01:09:46):
Possibly.
Speaker 9 (01:09:49):
I feel like, not necessarily her fault, but I feel like,
you haven't been champion a couple of times lately.
Speaker 5 (01:09:54):
Uh, those reigns have kind of been not so memorable. Uh,
not really her fault. She just hasn't been given a
lot to do. I feel like last time she was championed,
she didn't have a match for two months or something
like that.
Speaker 9 (01:10:07):
Uh, it's not her fault, but I mean just definitely
about Carings just such a unique charisma to her.
Speaker 5 (01:10:14):
She just looks She's like effortlessly cool. Uh you know,
and you know English isn't the greatest, but it doesn't
even matter.
Speaker 14 (01:10:22):
I kind of like her not talking much.
Speaker 5 (01:10:25):
She just kind of had an aura about her that
into one of thoms you can't teach things.
Speaker 15 (01:10:30):
She just has a she has a special unique quality
that nobody else has. Nobody else can do it. And
don't see what you got on. I hope they ever
stopped to do because she should be a fun rain.
Speaker 5 (01:10:42):
She's incredible. She's a joy to watch and I'm looking
forward to see which where she goes next.
Speaker 3 (01:10:49):
Yeah, and she parlayed it perfectly, like the way she said,
you know, English is not my first language, but wrestling is.
Like that's the perfect fucking catchphrase. They put that shit
on the shirt and I'm sure that shirt is selling well. Yeah,
and she already has the look like she looks great
with a belt on her, Like I see some people
(01:11:12):
like you see them holding it title and it's like, yeah,
it looks right around their waist. She looks like they
look right with a championship belt around their waist. Stephanie
big Err is one of those. Yeah, when she had
that NXT North American Championship and when she had the
NXT Women's Championship and she was rocking it, it just
looks right on her. And I just know when when
(01:11:35):
she you see her put that Women's World Championship, world
title around her waist, it's gonna look right mm hmm.
Speaker 5 (01:11:43):
Yeah. I mean, and she's just she has it, you know,
whatever whatever it is, she's got it, m m.
Speaker 9 (01:11:50):
You know, she gives had a little a little tiny
little smile in the corner of her mouth that she does,
and she kind of looks side to side when she
she has it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:58):
I don't know, that intensity and just something as simple
as when she just holds that one up and it's like, yep,
yep it Aura for days, effortless Aura.
Speaker 6 (01:12:16):
All Right, guys, let's move on to the next match.
Yea and Ski the USO's Jimmy and Jay USO versus
The Vision, Bronson, Reed and bron Breaker and just a
standard old tag match. You know, we haven't seen Jimmy
(01:12:36):
and Jay back together since last March.
Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (01:12:40):
It's you know, I think it's awesome moment to have
them back together because these guys have had such huge
like character development for you know, the past year. Jay
obviously way over more than Jimmy, but there has been
a slight character a change in Jay as of recent
(01:13:03):
If anybody watched I believe it was SmackDown the other night,
was it smack or was it Wraw? Jimmy brought up, Yeah,
that's right. Jimmy brought up the fact that you know,
Jay usso was acting more like the otc Roman reigns.
You know, could we see a heel turn?
Speaker 4 (01:13:29):
I don't.
Speaker 6 (01:13:29):
I don't think so. Just a bigger character development for Jay.
And you know, also where does this leave Jimmy. There's
also the involvement in this match. I'd say this is
probably gonna be an interference, and I think it's gonna
involve Ellie Knight because the way it ended the other
(01:13:51):
night with Ellie Knight shaking his hand but then laying
his ass out. I don't think it's over. You know,
he got the last laugh. I don't think it's over.
You know, I think them losing this match is gonna suck.
You know, all signs point to the USA is winning
(01:14:12):
this match. You know, the faces going over and sending
everybody home happy and eating right. I just I don't
think so. I think with what recently unfolded, you know,
this week with l A. Knight, I think he's gonna
interfere somehow and it's gonna cause Jaye to maybe super
(01:14:32):
kick or spear Jimmy by accident caused something to happen,
a slip up, and that's all it takes. And you know,
Bronzing and bron Breaker getting taken more of a serious
tag team right now to beat the USOS. That's a
big win, especially with the USAS in this state. So
(01:14:53):
I'm giving the win to the Heels the vision, Drey,
what do you think.
Speaker 3 (01:15:04):
I gotta disagree with you there. I think I think
the U Sols take it. I think they take it
fairly cleanly. The fact that La Knight got his lick
back this past Monday after Jay got him the week prior.
I don't see any reason for him to interfere in
this match. Like if he runs out there, who's he
(01:15:25):
running out there for? You know, he's not going he's running.
He's not running out there to get a lick back
on Jay. He already did that. I don't see much
reason for him to run out there and try to
get another lick in on the Vision in this match.
He got what he wanted this past Monday. He got
his match, you know, Adam. Adam Pierce asked, what do
you want? I want a piece of the Vision. Adam
(01:15:47):
gave him a piece of division. He had to find
his partner. Like La Knight, got what he wanted this
past Monday. There's no reason for him to come out
and try to double dip again this past Saturday. I
think they did that on Monday to keep him out
of the match on Saturday. So I think this match
is just going to be a straight up tag team
match and the USOS are just going to go over clean.
(01:16:11):
What happens from here, we'll see the following Monday what happens.
But as far as this match itself, I think the
USOS will go over clean. I think they get the Vision.
Can't sweep Tonight, can't sweep to Night. So someone's gotta
win and somebody's got to lose. So the losers are
(01:16:32):
going to be Bronze Incorporated.
Speaker 6 (01:16:39):
Duell break break this time man, Well not really a tie,
but yeah, break break this decision here.
Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
Who are you thinking, yeah, well, I think they want
us to James might be turning here, but I think that.
Speaker 11 (01:17:00):
Would be absolutely.
Speaker 16 (01:17:03):
It just doesn't make a h it was, you know,
when the guy's selling murk and stupid entence.
Speaker 11 (01:17:12):
In perfect But I do think we're gonna get a heeltair.
Speaker 5 (01:17:16):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (01:17:18):
I think it's gonna be Jimmy or L. A.
Speaker 5 (01:17:19):
Knight.
Speaker 11 (01:17:21):
I think I fished l A. Knight going in the
vision a couple.
Speaker 5 (01:17:24):
Of weeks ago.
Speaker 11 (01:17:27):
I think I still might be there. But I'll tell
you what. I think it's Jimmy heelchair here and I
do him wonders.
Speaker 5 (01:17:34):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:17:37):
I mean the Jay is.
Speaker 11 (01:17:37):
Already at the top of the card. Basically, he's had
a word here.
Speaker 16 (01:17:40):
He's just you know, these levels higher he can go, sure,
but he's about as high as he's gonna get.
Speaker 5 (01:17:48):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (01:17:50):
And I think Jimmy, I think it's sounds for him
to you know, level up himself.
Speaker 6 (01:17:55):
Uh.
Speaker 16 (01:17:55):
Finally, you know, maybe that just means a midcard ron
the less Tardy or something like that in the future,
but I think that, I mean, he needs to shake
up for some time.
Speaker 5 (01:18:07):
Ah.
Speaker 16 (01:18:09):
And I think that would I think that would be
good for him, something something different to do. Uh, so,
I think bron and Brown and Corporated go over, and
I think Jimmy or l. A.
Speaker 11 (01:18:23):
Knight end up turning here.
Speaker 16 (01:18:26):
And if Italian Night, I think he probably joined the Vision,
but I'm.
Speaker 11 (01:18:30):
Not sure that's so I'm want to go with the
bad guys.
Speaker 3 (01:18:37):
I still struggle to see l. A. Knight turning l A.
Knight turning heel. Sure, and that's that's not a not
a bad thing, right, I just can't see him turning
heel and then joining the vision.
Speaker 11 (01:18:54):
Extreme almost killed and that's kind of have he got it?
Speaker 16 (01:18:59):
I think, I think that takes us.
Speaker 11 (01:19:02):
I see what even fighting attitude I think, I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:19:08):
Yeah, yeah, I mean that's worked for Bronson Reid because
Bronson reads not an alpha. Ellie Knight is, at at
least within the context of w W E is an alpha.
It's very rare that factions work with more than one alpha.
Extremely rare, in fact, I'd.
Speaker 4 (01:19:31):
Be you'd be hard press right now.
Speaker 3 (01:19:34):
I struggle off the top of my head to think
of factions that worked with multiple alphas at the same time,
because even if you think about Degeneration X Shawn Michael's
in Triple H, they were both alphas in the last
run that they had when it was just basically them
(01:19:54):
two and that was basically a shell of what d
X was.
Speaker 5 (01:20:00):
He's just to play the greatest what's that.
Speaker 11 (01:20:04):
That that that was one of the one guys still
alive from the.
Speaker 16 (01:20:07):
Band is out there playing the four young dudes and.
Speaker 11 (01:20:11):
Thirty years ago. Yeah, that's right the vision.
Speaker 6 (01:20:16):
Hell no, Yeah, I don't see that happening either.
Speaker 14 (01:20:20):
No, I think heal.
Speaker 6 (01:20:28):
Me and I don't think it did.
Speaker 3 (01:20:30):
And it didn't work. Yeah, now he needs something, but
I don't know that a he'll turn.
Speaker 6 (01:20:39):
Is it he needs Ski, he and Skip. I'm telling
you it would work.
Speaker 3 (01:20:46):
It's something that he needs, but I don't know. There's
he needs to rub from somebody. I think he needs
somebody to give him the rub to help, you know,
change him, change his outlook or change that. Whether it's
Jay that gives him the rub and that motivates him
to get a single title of his own, or Roman
(01:21:07):
gives him the rub or something. I think he needs
to rub from somebody to push him to become a
singles champion on his own. Or maybe he's just destined
to be the forever mid card, you know. M I
hate to say side dude, but that guy h said
(01:21:33):
no because Jay, I mean Jay. Jimmy, to his credit,
has a lot of assets or a lot of attributes
that Jay does not have. Like, I don't think there's
a dispute between anybody that Jimmy is by far the
better one on the mic. Jay may have the catchphrases,
(01:21:53):
but as far as just actual talking, Jimmy is way better.
Speaker 6 (01:21:58):
I actually way better. Yeah, before the yeat, before yeat happened. Yeah,
that's where you can really tell who was better on
the mic before you Eat happened.
Speaker 3 (01:22:10):
Yeah, Jimmy was doing the most of the talking in
the promo, and then Jay would be the one kind
of backing him up and ad libbing a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:22:17):
But Jimmy was the real talker, Like funk, if.
Speaker 3 (01:22:24):
Jimmy had if Jay had Jimmy's mike skills, Jay would
be Roman two point zero right now, was a.
Speaker 2 (01:22:33):
Gumpfter earlier this year said said to Jimmy, like, what
would have happened if he would said he first or something.
Speaker 3 (01:22:40):
Like that, something like that. Yeah, yeah, I think that
was right now. I think that was the same episode
where Jimmy slapped the dog shot his ass.
Speaker 6 (01:22:51):
Yeah, I think you're right.
Speaker 4 (01:22:59):
Like Jimmy has.
Speaker 3 (01:23:00):
Jimmy has trades, he's got he's got the ability to
talk on the mic.
Speaker 4 (01:23:05):
He just doesn't have Jay's aura. M j just has
the presence. He just has the aura and the health.
Speaker 3 (01:23:17):
It's the other thing that's hurted Jimmy a lot injuries.
Speaker 11 (01:23:20):
Yeah, every time they get him going.
Speaker 6 (01:23:28):
All right, guys, let's uh, let's move on to the
next match.
Speaker 3 (01:23:31):
Here.
Speaker 6 (01:23:32):
Next match, we got Cody Rhodes our undisputed WW Champion
versus three McIntyre. On August eighth episode of SmackDown, Undisputed
Champion Cody Roads and Drew McIntyre were involved in a
tag match, with Rhodes team winning via disqualification. Following the match,
(01:23:53):
McIntire tacked Roads with the title belt and performed a
Claymore kick on Rhodes through the announced table. Later September
twelfth episode SmackDown, after McIntyre defeated Rhodes longtime friend Randy Orton,
McIntyre was about to perform a clayey More kick on
Orton through the announced table. However, Rhodes return and assisted Orton.
(01:24:15):
Following a brawl with McIntyre, Rhoades stated that he would
see McIntyre at Wressell Palooza, and a title match was
confirmed for this event. Let me ask you, guys, either
of you guys excited for this fucking match?
Speaker 3 (01:24:33):
I mean, the match itself is gonna be good. I'm
looking at this as maybe first chapter in a feud,
in a multi match feud. I don't think this is
gonna be a one and done where Okay, Cody Beach
Drew and then Drew just disappears and goes off to
(01:24:55):
something else, right. I think these two are going to
be feuding, probably for the rest of the year.
Speaker 6 (01:25:05):
I could, I could believe that.
Speaker 3 (01:25:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:25:08):
I mean, like, I think the reason why it's been
so lacklesser and and it's pretty obvious it's Cody has
been gone for a while. He's been filming Street Fighter.
This is why I was I think the last p L.
I was not a fan of Cody just winning this
title to begin with, because I knew when he would
(01:25:29):
win this title, and then he was leaving right away.
It's like, I don't know, That's why I don't feel
so much.
Speaker 5 (01:25:37):
For this whole thing.
Speaker 2 (01:25:38):
The whole thing, and the lead up for the Roman
Mats was oh, I'm going to be a champion actually
sticks around.
Speaker 11 (01:25:46):
Right now, He's whatever.
Speaker 6 (01:25:49):
Yeah, I right though, I think we're going to get
a feud here, and within that feud, I think it's
going to absolutely better.
Speaker 3 (01:25:59):
Yeah, but I mean before we completely, you know, start
dunking on Cody, he ain't Roman levels yet. Like this
is probably I think this year is probably the most
time he's been away from w WE outside of injury
in quite some time.
Speaker 5 (01:26:15):
Oh yeah, I know, I'm not.
Speaker 3 (01:26:17):
Like, you know, he had a he had a brief
you know, hiatus after WrestleMania, which I think was well
deserved because he pretty much grinded out all of too
winning twenty four through twenty twenty five before dropping it
to see Danny took up you know, brief hiatus before
coming back and building up the Summer Slam, and then
he had.
Speaker 4 (01:26:37):
A movie role.
Speaker 3 (01:26:39):
And now he's back, and I imagine he'll probably be
on every freaking SmackDown from now through the rest of
the year. So I mean, he's he's I'm okay with
an occasional break for a champion. I don't take any
issue with him winning the title at WrestleMania. I mean
at SummerSlam, even if it meant he was about to
(01:27:00):
immediately take off role to film a movie, because I mean,
what was the alternative the title stale on John Cena
with his you know, three and a half dates left
for the year.
Speaker 6 (01:27:13):
Yeah, good car.
Speaker 3 (01:27:15):
I'm okay, I'm okay with Cody. You haven't done it,
even if he took a break just to come back.
Speaker 11 (01:27:21):
And yeah, yeah, yeah, the pumably when he.
Speaker 6 (01:27:30):
Was Doyle, you sound like you're like far away, like
you're going in and out your audio.
Speaker 11 (01:27:43):
You haven't had an audio issues. I'll come back. I'll
leave him come back, Yeah, then come back.
Speaker 3 (01:27:58):
Yeah. I guess to this, as far as this match
itself goes, I said, I think it's gonna be a
good match. I think this is, like I said, the
start of and ongoing feuds kind of hard to predict
where it's going to culminate at, given that the pay
per view or the Plee calendar for the rest of
(01:28:19):
the year is still somewhat unknown.
Speaker 4 (01:28:23):
I mean, we've got what we know.
Speaker 3 (01:28:24):
We got Survivor series, We've got a Crown Jewel in Australia,
and then what else do we have other than that
this knowing? I mean a couple of Saturday Night main events.
But outside that, we don't really any other pls I
think are still unannounced as of now. Granted there's probably
(01:28:45):
only one that's unannounced because of what Survivor Series will
probably be November.
Speaker 4 (01:28:51):
Crown Jewel is what October.
Speaker 3 (01:28:57):
I'm guessing yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:29:01):
Right now?
Speaker 3 (01:29:03):
So yeah, so, I mean, hell that might be yeah,
I mean, that might be it for the year. The
Crowd Jewel and Summer and SURVIVI Series might be the
last two p ls of the year, giving it where
in September and we got right, Yeah, so Crown Jewel
(01:29:26):
this weekend, then there's a month build up for I
mean Russell Palooza this weekend, then a month build up
for Crown Jewel, and then probably another month build up
for Survivors Series, and then Saturday Night made event in
December to close out the year. So I mean, I
(01:29:49):
could see the Matt you know, Cody winning. Now Crowd Jewel,
we get maybe a rematch or something else with the
stipulation or or something else going there, and then they'll
figure some shit out.
Speaker 4 (01:30:05):
For Survivor Series.
Speaker 3 (01:30:07):
Yeah, I mean, like those two will be on opposite
side of some sort of Survivor Series match, perhaps right.
Speaker 6 (01:30:13):
I mean, I think I'm gonna enjoy this match. Uh
you know, I I think Cody Road is gonna come
out with the w for this one. They didn't have
him go through all the struggle of winning this title
back just to lose it, even though I man, I
would love to see Drew McIntyre with another title run,
a longer title run.
Speaker 3 (01:30:32):
You know.
Speaker 6 (01:30:35):
Man, that guy get shafted when it comes to the
world titles when and where he gets them. But uh, yeah,
I'm I'm.
Speaker 4 (01:30:42):
Hoping challenger at some point he's got to come through.
Speaker 6 (01:30:46):
Yeah, exactly. So yeah, I mean for what's on the card,
I'm I'm you know, I'm content with it. Like I'm
just I just think, like I said this, the build
up to it was not all that much for me.
But I think the next time we're talking about this,
my tone will probably change. But yeah, Cody for the win. Doyle,
(01:31:11):
if you're still there.
Speaker 5 (01:31:13):
Yeah, do I sound better? Okay?
Speaker 4 (01:31:17):
All right?
Speaker 5 (01:31:18):
Good.
Speaker 9 (01:31:20):
If this was just a regular role pay per view,
I would think maybe a little differently about it.
Speaker 5 (01:31:27):
But it's the first ESPN.
Speaker 4 (01:31:29):
Thing, and I think there's a not.
Speaker 5 (01:31:32):
Totally impossible chance that they want to.
Speaker 9 (01:31:35):
Do something shocking on this first show, and I could
see and like, I think Drey said, it doesn't feel
like the last match is at the first match, and I.
Speaker 13 (01:31:44):
Think it is.
Speaker 5 (01:31:45):
But I think the series maybe Cody trying to get
his title back.
Speaker 6 (01:31:50):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:31:50):
You said Drew has to win this at some point.
I agree with you. I think maybe, just maybe they
want to do something crazy, something.
Speaker 9 (01:31:58):
Shocking, something big moment on this first so you know,
something viral on this first ESPN show.
Speaker 5 (01:32:09):
But I think there's an outside chance.
Speaker 9 (01:32:11):
I don't think it's a fourgone conclusion that COVID's going
to retain the title. I think it's most likely, but
I don't think it's I don't think we can totally
just out.
Speaker 5 (01:32:21):
Of the potets say Drew has no chance.
Speaker 17 (01:32:23):
I think he's got a better chance than he would have,
but any other non Big five or four, however many
big pay per views we have now, if it wasn't
this first ESPN.
Speaker 9 (01:32:36):
To do show, but it is, I think Threw has
a decent shot of following up set here, and of
course that's who I'll.
Speaker 4 (01:32:45):
Be written for.
Speaker 3 (01:32:48):
You make a compelling argument, and I would probably be
inclined to believe to agree with you.
Speaker 5 (01:32:57):
That.
Speaker 3 (01:32:58):
Yeah, it'd be you know, big show. You know, give
us something to talk about, give something for everybody talk about,
give us that that big oh ship moment, that shock moment,
the thing that goes viral. I would be inclined to
believe in all of that if it weren't for a
(01:33:18):
little thing that WWE has done called Saturday Night Main Event.
When they brought that ship back and they were we
were breaking the same everything you're saying now about your
We were saying the same thing about NBC when they
brought that ship back, like it's they gotta do this,
they gotta do that, And they played that motherfucker safe
(01:33:41):
as hell.
Speaker 9 (01:33:43):
I mean, the loge, the logic of Cody just won
this title, he's not losing. It makes a lot, you know,
makes perfect, perfect tense.
Speaker 3 (01:33:51):
I'm inclined that they're gonna go for the Saturday Night
Made Event formula and play this ship safe as fuck.
Speaker 14 (01:34:02):
That's a very good point.
Speaker 3 (01:34:06):
I would love it if they did give us a shocker,
like you know, Drew pulling off the upset and winning,
and then yeah, Cody has to spend the rest of
the year chasing to get the title back, and we
get a couple of months of Drew as ww champion.
That'd be pretty fucking awesome. I just don't trust WWE
to be that bold anymore.
Speaker 9 (01:34:26):
Yeah, it's fair, and I think we might get a shocker,
shocking moment, viral kind of moment in a different match anyway,
which we will talk about later.
Speaker 6 (01:34:40):
M hm uh yeah, let's move on to the next
match I have. Let me scroll down here. Yeah, well,
I got two left seam Punk and aj Lee versus
Seth Freaking Rollins and Becky Lynch in a mixed tag
team match. I'll be honest, this is the mix tag
match I've been waiting for for a very long time.
(01:35:04):
This might be my could be my very favorite mixed
tag match. We've had mixed tag matches in the past.
I'm not talking about the tournament, uh the mixed I
did too, but I'm not gonna be.
Speaker 9 (01:35:21):
But I hope they I hope they put them doing.
Uh do a mixed tag team title. We don't have
enough titles. We need everyone to have a title.
Speaker 6 (01:35:31):
Everybody needs a title.
Speaker 5 (01:35:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:35:34):
I think out of all the mixed tag matches that
there have been, I think this one's my most anticipated.
Uh does it get any realer than this, you know,
with having uh two real couples in there, so I
expect the chemistry to be fucking good.
Speaker 5 (01:35:50):
They can have a whole couple's divisions. Yeah, yeah, at
this point, whole couples of mixed.
Speaker 9 (01:35:55):
Tag division and uh delin Ovan Alestair Blair. Yeah, all
the couples, definitely. And that deaf kid, what's his name,
mild mild something.
Speaker 5 (01:36:12):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:36:12):
He's not I don't think he's a listener of the show.
Speaker 5 (01:36:16):
No, he's probably all right, I'll set up now going.
Speaker 6 (01:36:26):
Uh ship, Yeah, I mean this is going back. This
tension has been going all the way back to November
twenty twenty three when punk Ass returned, and now you
got a rare chance with Becky and Seth both being heels,
both having titles. Don't get me wrong, I would love
(01:36:48):
to have Becky have had the women's world title in
this situation, but uh, you know, Intercontinental title will do.
It'll elevated, I guess right. Just sucks. It kind of
puts those two titles out of commission for the you know,
for the pay per view. They're not being put on
the line. But it's fine. I don't see a j
(01:37:13):
Lee pursuing the IC title and winning it anytime soon.
But I do see them both going over on this match.
I see, I would think a j Lee being the
one to I don't know if i'd say pin, but
maybe make Becky tap out, make her submit. I'm thinking
(01:37:37):
that's how we're gonna end this match. But I understand
how the other day we had a j Lee come
out with her music. For sure the pay per view
we were having Punk's music hit though, But yeah, you're
not going to bring a j Lee back after ten
years just for her to lose her first match. So Dre,
(01:37:58):
do you agree? Disagree?
Speaker 5 (01:38:01):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:38:01):
I agree, Yeah, you're not bringing aj Lee back after
ten years to have her lose her first match. That's
why Becky has been putting in overtime to sell for
aj Lee and act like she's terrified or scared of
her until the bring they're in the ring and they
have the match, and then obviously, you know Becky will
(01:38:22):
put that work in on her but eventually do the
job to get her over. You know, one thing Becky
has shown that she has no problem with is putting
people over. So yeah, Seth and you know Punk, they've
done their thing back and forth. We've seen that plenty.
Obviously there's that feuds far from over, but this right
(01:38:47):
now is about aj Lee. The couple thing, you know,
is just basically so to help help lift her up
so that she's not trying to carry a full match
in her first match. He's her back and let her
get the ring rust off, let her get back into
the flow, into the mix of things, and then let
her go over on Becky to have the big celebration,
(01:39:11):
the big welcome back to win, and then we'll go
from here and see what she does.
Speaker 9 (01:39:20):
Yeah, I mean, do we know if she's just doing
this match or coming back full time or coming back
part time.
Speaker 3 (01:39:27):
You know, she's back full time. She has re signed
with w w E as full time competitor. Yeah, they
they showed a she had a video on her the
video and social media. After the same night she came
back in Chicago of her signing a WWE contract, backstage
with her Triple Ah signing a contract. So this is
(01:39:49):
not just a one off or a momentary thing. She
is back in the mix, full throttle, full time competitive.
Speaker 18 (01:40:01):
I think after the last pay per view when when
this was obviously what was going to be happening. I
think I poop pooed the ship out of bringing uh
h Lee back after all this time.
Speaker 5 (01:40:11):
But I gotta tell you, you know, credit where credit
is due. I thought her her comeback promo was fantastic.
Speaker 12 (01:40:19):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:40:20):
You know, I never thought of here a crowd chating therapy.
Speaker 3 (01:40:24):
You know.
Speaker 5 (01:40:24):
Yeah, that was that was pretty good.
Speaker 9 (01:40:29):
It remains to me seen what she looks like in
the ring, you know, whether she looks more like Becky
or Bella.
Speaker 5 (01:40:34):
You know, I'm kind of in a still a little
skeptical there, but man, I don't remember Karen for her
very much.
Speaker 9 (01:40:43):
But I really loved that promo and I thought she
was great The next week, uh, when it was the
four of them doing the promo, and I was kind
of glad that that uh fucking her stupid ass husband
uh took kind of a back seat, you know and
let her cook, you know.
Speaker 5 (01:41:00):
And of course Becky is fucking amazing that. Uh. I
think this should be a lot of fun. Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:41:07):
I think Wayne said they're not bringing her back after
a decade, and I mean, I think so much more
older than I thought she would be, and especially given
that I can't imagine that the punker and a J
don't go over. And I feel like that's has just
(01:41:29):
been getting getting over and getting over and getting over
getting over on Phil.
Speaker 5 (01:41:34):
There it's about times he gets a gets a win and.
Speaker 9 (01:41:40):
You know you can have have him and you know
whether or not he pins Rollins or a J caps
or pins Becky is one thing with probably the latter.
Speaker 5 (01:41:49):
But you can still.
Speaker 14 (01:41:50):
It's some way to get punk a win over without
having expensed the title.
Speaker 5 (01:41:54):
All right, let punk chase a little more. I think
eventually punk will.
Speaker 14 (01:41:58):
Be important matter what, everyone won't wake all kind of thing, right.
Speaker 5 (01:42:11):
Oh no, no, yeah, I think the fans at the
paces will be going over.
Speaker 3 (01:42:17):
I think.
Speaker 4 (01:42:18):
Yeah, I mean yeah, like you said, AJ has been
doing great work.
Speaker 3 (01:42:23):
I mean tbd what she's going to be in the ring.
Whether she's more of a tris stratus who shows that,
you know, despite you know, what she did during her time,
she's more than capable of working with the women of
today and going toe to toe with them, or you know,
is she, like I said, more of a Nikki Bello
(01:42:46):
who's likes needs to be carried by today's talent more
so than holding her own. I'm inclined to think to
believe that a j can be more trist Stratt the
Nikki Bella and show that you know, now that she's
got the caliper of talent to work with, she can
(01:43:08):
rock with them, and she can she can go toe
to toe with them. That's what That's what I'm hoping for.
That's what I want to believe. And he obviously showed
that she can go on the mic with him. I mean,
she's been giving us a line pretty much in every
promo that she's had so far. Like I was laughing
this past Monday when she said, you know, I'm a
Puerto Rican from New Jersey.
Speaker 4 (01:43:29):
Sometimes I'll shake a chick.
Speaker 5 (01:43:33):
Yeah. No, She's been great and like just just so likable.
H And you know, like I said about Stephanie.
Speaker 9 (01:43:40):
Delcrow, Uh, she just has has not just cosma, it's
kind of a unique sort of charisma.
Speaker 5 (01:43:47):
That has, you know, as a vibe that's her own.
Speaker 9 (01:43:54):
Like I said, I don't have fond memories of her
from ten years ago, but I really have enjoyed her
to her too promo. So as much as I was,
you know, down or negative on the whole idea of
bringing her back, I'm much more willing to Again, it
remains to be seeing what she looks like in the ring,
but I'm much more open to it a few weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (01:44:17):
Yeah. Now, granted I wasn't watching during AJ's run. That
was in the time where I was tuned out on WWE.
So as far as seeing actual matches of her, I
can't recall any note that I've seen, so I can't
judge what her end ring work was or talent was then,
(01:44:38):
but I do know that that was very much a
the Divas era period was pretty much a very low
time for we've been wrestling in WWE. So I wonder
if if it's a case of she's a product of
what she had to work with or what she part
(01:45:00):
of the problem. And I think I guess we'll probably
get an answer to that based upon what she does
now with the talent that she has, If she can
measure up to them, then history will probably say that
AJ in her first run was a product of the
talent she had to work with being very lackluster and
(01:45:21):
the whole division as a whole being very.
Speaker 4 (01:45:23):
Lackluster at that time.
Speaker 3 (01:45:25):
If she can't keep up with today's wrestlers, then history
will probably say that, you know, she was part of
the problem and not necessarily the catalyst or the you know,
initial seed or whatever of the eventual women's revolution. Maybe
more that credit will go towards somebody like Page or
what have you. So you could definitely say that there's
(01:45:49):
some there's some legacy on the line for aj in
this second run, So she should have she should be
very motivated to.
Speaker 4 (01:45:59):
Perform to the best of her ability this time around.
Speaker 9 (01:46:08):
Yeah, I just I don't know if if ten years off,
it's a good thing very bad, you know, like it's
it's ten years where she wasn't getting dropped on her head,
you know, but about for ten years that she hasn't
been doing it.
Speaker 5 (01:46:21):
And it's one of those things, you know. I think
we've said before about how you know you can you.
Speaker 9 (01:46:26):
Can hit hit three pointers in an empty gym all
day long, but you know, it's getting there and doing
it in front of you know, twenty thousand people scream,
and there's a whole other thing.
Speaker 6 (01:46:36):
You know.
Speaker 5 (01:46:37):
Uh, if you're going the way, I guess we'll see.
I think I think Becky's a great person to be
in there with. Uh.
Speaker 9 (01:46:45):
That makes that fucking terrible bella match. Notwithstanding if you're
if you're looking for somebody to make it look good,
I think Becky, it's a bad as good as as
good as it cats.
Speaker 3 (01:46:55):
Yeah. Well, the ultimate thing is that that question won't
be answered in this one match. No, It'll be definitely
be told over time, because I mean even Sean Michaels,
you know, didn't look like his old self in his
first match back with Triple H at Summer Slam. He
had moments he showed that, yeah, he could still pull
(01:47:17):
off some stuff, but obviously as he wrestled more and
got the rust off, he got better and better.
Speaker 6 (01:47:27):
You have to fucking find out. I'm excited ten years, man,
She's been going for ten long years. So all right,
let's get on to the main event, which well what
I'm assuming is the main event.
Speaker 3 (01:47:47):
They already.
Speaker 6 (01:47:49):
And he only does main events. Yeah, John Cena, the
goat that's never seen seventeen, the one last true champion,
and he still calls himself that even though he doesn't.
Speaker 4 (01:48:07):
Have a Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:48:11):
Yeah, it was kind of weird that he addressed it,
like after I made the comment and discord Monday, right, like,
why the fuck are he still saying that? He let
me talk about this I'm like, Okay, granted the excuse
he gave I thought was some bullshit, but.
Speaker 6 (01:48:29):
We're talking about a rivalry here, guys, that's been dating
back since two thousand and two. Wow, I'm assuming this
is the last time we're gonna see these two in
a ring together, do you guys think? But we only
have so many but five or so or four, we
(01:48:49):
don't have much left. We really really don't mean it's.
Speaker 3 (01:48:56):
After this.
Speaker 4 (01:48:57):
I think he has five dates left.
Speaker 6 (01:48:59):
Damn dude.
Speaker 5 (01:49:00):
It hurts.
Speaker 6 (01:49:01):
It hurts, Like, what do we do? What are we
getting out of those five days? If we're getting brock
Lessner here.
Speaker 4 (01:49:07):
What do we get we're getting?
Speaker 3 (01:49:10):
Well, his next we're getting Crown Jewel Survivor Series Saturday
Night main event, and two others which I oh, MSG, yeah,
Crown Jewel uh raw at MSG Survivor Series, his final
match at Saturday Night main event, and I can't remember
(01:49:32):
what the fifth one is.
Speaker 6 (01:49:36):
Well, it's it's just hear so quickly, man. You know,
I'll probably go through at some point, go through his
retirement tour again to really look at it on paper
and kind of you know, see if it was a
great retirement tour. And I mean as of now. Yeah,
(01:49:58):
but uh yeah, I mean I'm excited for this match.
I nobody thought brock Lesner.
Speaker 4 (01:50:06):
Was coming back.
Speaker 6 (01:50:08):
Nobody, Ah, so this this might even be his last
fucking match. I mean, who knows?
Speaker 5 (01:50:15):
Right, Yeah, he's another one. The same question today, jay Lee, like,
do we know what he's doing? Is he back for
his one match?
Speaker 3 (01:50:22):
Is he back?
Speaker 5 (01:50:23):
Is he back back? Is he? I mean even when
he's coming, what's that?
Speaker 3 (01:50:30):
Even if he even when he's been back, he hasn't
been back back. He's been.
Speaker 4 (01:50:35):
Pop up have a match by maybe.
Speaker 5 (01:50:39):
For two years? Are we gonna We're gonna see him
more recent? Sooner than two years from now.
Speaker 3 (01:50:44):
Look, he brought his ass to Norfolks. I ain't gonna
hate on him, but so much right now?
Speaker 5 (01:50:50):
He split his pants in Norfolk? Is that where all right?
That should be a T shirt? I split my pants
in Norfolk?
Speaker 3 (01:50:58):
Ye split his pants after five and our truth and
move the crowd?
Speaker 6 (01:51:05):
Excuse me?
Speaker 5 (01:51:05):
It was?
Speaker 9 (01:51:06):
What do you think he wore for the rest of
the night, because I know, do you think they just
had a pair of bronc Lezer sized pants just in case?
Speaker 3 (01:51:13):
Like?
Speaker 5 (01:51:14):
What what does he do in that situation? I don't.
I can't go. I just can't.
Speaker 4 (01:51:18):
Probably just immediately left and went back to his hotel
and changed pants.
Speaker 5 (01:51:22):
He probably can't just borrow someone else's pants. I imagine
he has. He doesn't wear the same size as a
lot of other people.
Speaker 3 (01:51:33):
I doubt he's stuck around past that segment, Like he
showed up, it kicked off the show, and he was
probably back at Norfolk International Airport and gone before the
show was off the air. Although I will say, seeing
that man up close in real life, that is one
(01:51:58):
huge mother fucker m right, Yeah, and he's not even
as big as he used to be, so I can
imagine what the fuck he looked like standing next to
him in two thousand and two, because just seeing him
when he came out there, I was just like, oh god, fuck.
(01:52:20):
I can't really appreciate how big he is until you
actually see him that up close. And granted, I'm just
saying like I was a good pretty close to the ring,
like there was maybe four or five like five rows
of seats and a walkway between you know, me and
(01:52:42):
where Lesner was in the angle I was at, you know,
from I was behind the announced table. So when I'm
looking at when him and Our Truth were having their
exchange in the ring. You know, obviously hardcamp side, it's
from my angle, it's Rock Lesner, and then our Truth
(01:53:04):
is more or less behind him. From my vanished point,
I could not see Truth on the other side of Lesner.
That's how massive this motherfucker is. He just hid a
whole human being behind him.
Speaker 5 (01:53:21):
Can we take one second? What a disappointment? Fucking poor Ron. Ron.
Killing's right, he gets.
Speaker 9 (01:53:27):
Fired, he gets his whole big comeback, and now he's
back to me in a fucking goofball again.
Speaker 4 (01:53:34):
Like shit, I'm done.
Speaker 5 (01:53:36):
I guess he's hopefully making more money than he was,
but it's just.
Speaker 3 (01:53:39):
Like, yeah, I hope he's happy, but it's for me.
I'm I'm done. I'm done taking him. Seriously. He can
show up, he can be entertaining. Yes, the segment, we laughed,
we we we got our chuckles in, but yeah, I'm
I'm done with wanting anything more for Ron.
Speaker 5 (01:54:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:54:03):
I mean, if he's making good money to not really
have to do much good for him, you.
Speaker 4 (01:54:08):
Know, if he's making.
Speaker 3 (01:54:11):
Exactly if he's making good money and he's happy, I'm
happy for him.
Speaker 5 (01:54:16):
He's not really risking his health too too much. Yeah,
got our hopes.
Speaker 3 (01:54:28):
I guess at some point we should actual talk about
who the hell is gonna win this match?
Speaker 6 (01:54:32):
I have Sena going seen obviously when he is if anything, honestly,
let me throw you guys something crazy. What if we've
seen it with Brock a couple of times, whether it
happens to him or he does it to somebody else.
What if it's a fucking quick match and John Cena
puts him wash squashed his super Sena squashes Lessener.
Speaker 4 (01:54:58):
I'd be shocked if that happened.
Speaker 6 (01:55:00):
I bet I thought that too, man. But we saw
that with Kobe Kingston. We saw that with gold and
we saw it from half them both ends where he
takes it and gives it like right.
Speaker 3 (01:55:11):
But yeah, but as far as taking it, who's ever
squashed Lesnar only Goldberg? But we were swashing was part
of Goldberg's gimmick, right, but he had watching never been
a part of John seeds.
Speaker 6 (01:55:25):
Five dates left. So what if these five dates are
just him and Brock like dis feud is.
Speaker 3 (01:55:33):
It wouldn't be.
Speaker 6 (01:55:35):
Having having him beat brought quickly and then Brock being
pissed off about it, and then the feud continues.
Speaker 13 (01:55:42):
I mean, yeah, dude, it sucks, but nobody wants that.
Speaker 6 (01:55:45):
Nobody does want that.
Speaker 4 (01:55:47):
That's what people barely want.
Speaker 3 (01:55:48):
This match that we're gonna get now because it's just
gonna be freaking ten minutes of German souplexes and then
a scene of comeback and maybe he fucking wins, which,
for the record, I think saying scene is gonna win
because I don't see John losing any matches in this
home stretch of his tour. John's gonna win. I just
(01:56:12):
said I was gonna go. Match is gonna start. I
start off with a little bit offense. We're gonna get
ten minutes of German suplexes from Lesnar. John seen is
gonna come back, Maybe a couple more supplexes. Oh no,
I talk about John's gonna come back. Then we're gonna
get in that F five. John's gonna kick out. Then
(01:56:33):
he might get some more supplexes in, maybe go for
another seaton at five. Scene's gonna counter, We're gonna get
an AA, and it's gonna be a bunch of that
little bullshit back and forth until John Cena actually wins.
Like I honestly don't know other than just I feel
like they only made this match because of the names
(01:56:53):
like ESPN Russell Palooza first Day. We need big names
John Cen to Brockbuster, because other than that, I don't
know why anybody would want to see this match. They
have not have they had a single good match together.
(01:57:17):
I don't think they have as much as as much
history as these two have together going all the way
back to OVW. We could have had so much better
had this rivalry really started in the ring during Lesner's
first run, but unfortunately it did it when we had
(01:57:39):
the best of Lesner in his first run, he was
feuding with the likes of Angle and Big Show and
all that and seen it was still just coming up
and finding.
Speaker 4 (01:57:51):
We didn't have the best, that you didn't have peak Sina.
Speaker 3 (01:57:55):
So Seena's peak came in, brought in Lesner's absence, and
by the time Lesner came back in the ring, he
was a shell of his former self. He was basically
just a German Suplex F five monster could barely and
what was either could it do or was unwilling to
do or give us the level of performance that he
(01:58:16):
did in his first run, And so all the matches
that he's had with Sena have just been repetitive bullshit,
and I don't see this match being any different, which
is why I have no interest in it whatsoever. But
John Cena is gonna win because hopefully this is a
one and done match, and then he moves on to
(01:58:37):
whoever he's gonna face next at Crown Jewel. The only
way I could see Lesnar winning this match is if,
for some god awful reason, they decide they're gonna run
this match back at Crownjewel, because I believe after this appearance,
John Cena has no more scheduled dates before a Crown Jewel,
(01:59:01):
so somehow whatever match he's gonna have then or whatever appearance,
if he's gonna have, actually have a match at Crown Jewel,
and it's not just gonna be an appearance, but assuming
it's gonna be a match, they're gonna have to figure
out some way to hype that match up without John Cena.
So the only way they can really do that would
be either a a rematch of Sena versus Lesnar, and
(01:59:23):
Lesner is the guy building up the match, I guess,
doing whatever on TV between now and then, or seeing
his match at Crown Jewel is some sort of tag
team affair where he's somebody's tag team partner, and then
the other participants in the match are the ones who
build it up while we wait for John Cena to
(01:59:46):
show up at Crown Jewel in Australia. It's only one
of those two options. I'm guessing that it's gonna be
the latter. The Crown Jewel match will be a tag
team match of some sort. And if that's gonna be
the case, Seene is gonna win this match so that
way he can thankfully be done with Lesler. M m.
Speaker 5 (02:00:12):
Yeah, there's a timing of this just really peculiar to me, Like.
Speaker 9 (02:00:17):
If they were gonna do this, it's feel like it
would have made more sentence at the stim of john
says last year rather than the end.
Speaker 5 (02:00:25):
But yeah, but don't know what Lesser's doing going forward.
Speaker 3 (02:00:29):
Is he back?
Speaker 5 (02:00:29):
Is he not back? Because he's sort of back. But yeah,
I can't imagine.
Speaker 9 (02:00:36):
That Johnson doesn't win this, especially given the fact that
it's you know what, third to last match or something
like that.
Speaker 5 (02:00:45):
But like Dre said that, I don't care about Productizer anymore.
I really don't. The only interest for me is really
in that, you know, like watching a Great eight ones,
you know, final games. You know when you know they're
going to retire.
Speaker 9 (02:01:04):
You know when when you knew that, you know, you
knew Kobe was going to retire, you knew David Ortiz
is going to retire, You knew Derek Jeter was going
to retire.
Speaker 5 (02:01:13):
So you know, you knew that this is the third
to last game in the second to last get whatever,
you know what I mean. And that's really the only
Peels has for me. H. You just you know what
the scene to look like for it, you know the
end of scene.
Speaker 9 (02:01:26):
And really, you know, like I said, someone if his
match was five minutes too long, you know, like some one,
I'll take everything I can get at.
Speaker 11 (02:01:33):
This point because it's not They're not going to be
making John.
Speaker 9 (02:01:36):
Tena matches much longer. But yeah, I mean, if they're
going to do a rematch, I maybe wins, but I
think I feel like that would be a waste of
John con the second to last match, you know, run
in a.
Speaker 5 (02:01:48):
Backer again, So I don't know who. I don't know
who else I want to see him face though, Who
do you guys think is playing opponent? Willed up being
That's think one of the big questions going around the
i w C these days is who who's seen his
last match? Due to try to run back remember another
(02:02:12):
remember when who would that be? You try to go
with a young upstart or what do you do? I
think Seth Rollins is a pretty good, uh, pretty good.
Speaker 4 (02:02:25):
Idea.
Speaker 5 (02:02:26):
I think that's who I would probably go with, and
I don't.
Speaker 3 (02:02:29):
Think that would evolve him. Yeah. I think my one
opposition to that is that if he's going against Seth Rollins,
then obviously it's going to be a title match, which
means obviously he's going to lose, Right, I want seeing
it to lose his final match, but I don't want
(02:02:49):
it to be obvious. So I would prefer for me,
I would prefer his final match just be a no stakes,
one on one match with somebody, and just let him
have a bang of a match with somebody and it
could be completely up in the air whether he's going
to win or lose, and he.
Speaker 4 (02:03:08):
Just happens to lose and he just goes out on
his back.
Speaker 3 (02:03:14):
That can be with a veteran like an AJ Styles,
or it can be with a up and comer like
a Carmelo Hayes. Either way, I'd be good with it,
just as long as it's a one on one, no
stakes bang over match. Some give us something like what
Edge had with Shamus and what would turn out to
be his last match in WWE.
Speaker 5 (02:03:37):
Oh yeah, I like I like Carmelo two massholes. He'd
be a good candidate, I think, mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (02:03:51):
Just hopefully he doesn't completely destroy and tear down you know,
Carmelo like he did with you know, Austin Theory and
Logan Paul before them. Yeah, like given actual respectful promo
to somebody.
Speaker 9 (02:04:06):
Like it's another thing like how much Cachet does beating
John Cena have anymore?
Speaker 5 (02:04:14):
I mean, I guess his last match is the last match.
Speaker 9 (02:04:16):
But yeah, Terry certainly didn't get much benefit. I think
you could argue selling for comment and he had a
whole lot of benefit either.
Speaker 3 (02:04:24):
I think it depends on how it's built up. Austin
Theory didn't get much benefit because because johnsena fucking destroyed
him before the match to the point that yeah, nothing
was gonna save Austin Theory and nobody was really liking
him that much any damn way, Solo didn't get much
benefit from it. Because they didn't do shit with them afterwards.
It wasn't the fact that and also the fact that
(02:04:46):
John Cena at that point was in the midst of
a gargantuan losing streak, so he didn't have his oora.
Speaker 4 (02:04:53):
Was kind of weak at that point. Even though he was.
Speaker 3 (02:04:55):
John Cena, he was John Cena kind of in name
only at that point, Whereas this John Cena we're seeing
now is like like people are saying it's the rebirth
of Super Sena. This is kind of John Cena at
his peak going out, you know, in a blaze of glory.
I think it's somebody if it's booked right and John
Cena doesn't completely tear him a new one on the
(02:05:15):
way out, and they can pull up a good match, clean,
credible W I think it can actually mean something for somebody,
especially if it's a young up and comer, and assuming
that they don't then turn around and do it in
the same stupid cliche thing like, you know, I put
(02:05:37):
John Cena out of w W. I beat John Cena.
I see John Cena a little back and like, don't
do it that way. If you do that, then yeah,
you're just gonna make it sound stupid. You're just gonna
make everybody hate you for running the dome right like
bitch was retiring? Fuck up? Yeah, if you just treated
as you know, yeah, I beat John Cena at his
(02:05:59):
best or you know, I beat him at his peak
or at the peak of his powers or something like that,
then you can parlay it into something.
Speaker 6 (02:06:07):
Yeah I retired, It's like, no, he was goin to retire.
Speaker 3 (02:06:15):
Yeah, but just treated as you know, I get you know,
I went toe to toe with the best and one.
If they do it respectfully and make it a respect thing,
I think it can really benefit a young up and
comer if they get that win.
Speaker 6 (02:06:33):
Mm hmmm. Five days left open challenge, five days five
open challenges? Right maybe, which you'll think that's all I got?
Speaker 3 (02:06:49):
Guys, poor Mellow and Miss beat iFIT right right now?
Speaker 6 (02:06:52):
What's that?
Speaker 5 (02:06:53):
What's that?
Speaker 3 (02:06:54):
Who are Mellow and Miss kind of beefing with right now?
Other than low key? Other than low key each other?
Cause I just had the random thought of some hold,
somebody kind of gets it to it with Mellow and
Miss going into Crown Jewel and they say, Okay, we're
gonna have a tag match you and a partner of
(02:07:16):
your choosing versus Mellow. Don't miss at Crown Jewel in
person right, and that person partner is John Cena, right,
and then we get we get a little bit of
Miss Sena action on the way out for that little
touch nostalgia. Yeah, and then that could sort of be
(02:07:37):
a tease of an eventual Mellow versus Sena one on
one match. Maybe come out of that match and be like,
you need to get away from that loser. We worked
in the ring together, you got something, you got a thing,
but you need to drop that dude that you're with
him that story like in the playing out to help
(02:07:58):
get Mellow away from MS and then set up a
one v one Mellow versus Sena match.
Speaker 5 (02:08:06):
I don't hate it.
Speaker 3 (02:08:09):
And maybe at that point, Mellow is a bit of
a babyface, so it's a babyface one v one match
and that could be an absolute banger and then really
gives some you know, a launch to Mellow. It's from
from Sina on the way out, babyface one v one
banger match and Mellow wins clean mhm. That could be
(02:08:33):
a Yeah, that could be strapping a fucking rocket to
Mellow on the way out.
Speaker 4 (02:08:37):
That'd be a bomb ass away for him to go out.
Speaker 5 (02:08:41):
That could work.
Speaker 6 (02:08:43):
They could work, man, I like the idea.
Speaker 5 (02:08:47):
Uh well, if you can afford it, tune in and
find out.
Speaker 6 (02:08:51):
Yeah, really, if you can afford it, Trey, do you
want to plug anything?
Speaker 3 (02:08:59):
Nothing at the most one just as always Instagram, dot Com,
slash PCW podcast.
Speaker 6 (02:09:05):
Doyle.
Speaker 5 (02:09:08):
I just so you know, give the Facebook a light
there and uh let's go red Sox.
Speaker 6 (02:09:14):
Yeah, uh yeah, we'll be back next episode with our
review and the next part of our bracket. With that said, uh,
I'll play us out back way.
Speaker 4 (02:09:33):
You are the world's dumbest sign up a bit.
Speaker 6 (02:09:40):
Back, day in and day out.
Speaker 9 (02:09:42):
For almost six years, I improved everybody in the world
that I am the best on this microphone in that
break and give it in commentary.
Speaker 3 (02:09:51):
Nobody can touch me.
Speaker 6 (02:09:53):
You are not.
Speaker 12 (02:09:55):
