Easy. I've got you, You'vegot me. Who's not you? I'm
in a dying look. Then it'syour brain. You will give the people
(00:30):
of birth an ideal to strive towardsor race behind you and will stumble or
four. But in time they willjoin you when the sun gown. In
time, you will help them accomplishwonders. Time to me, son of
(01:19):
jo Hey, everybody, Hello, and welcome to the podcast Full of Kryptonite,
your source for truth, justice andcommentary of steel for the CWTV show
Superman and Lois possibly soon did notbe CWTV show, but we don't know.
(01:45):
Nobody has said anything yet about wherethe show's going, if the show's
going anywhere they were supposed to,I believe. Give an update on a
couple of the remaining c W showsthat hadn't been renewed yet, and Superman
and Lois was one of those.Still haven't heard anything that. I feel
like we're supposed to be two orthree weeks ago, and so it's it's
still just kind of sitting there. So hopefully it gets renewed. It would
(02:07):
love to see it for at leasta fourth season. I know that James
Gunn and some of the other newfolks over at the DC Entertainment Area have
been saying they see this going forat least another year or two. So
if it doesn't renew on the CW, then I think the hope is that
we'd see it get renewed or movedover to Max and then it would be
(02:30):
streaming over there. So we'll seehow it goes, hopefully, though.
I mean, I feel like,I feel like there's plenty of stuff that
they've started with this season, andI'm a little in the back of my
mind, I'm a little concerned abouthow they're going to wrap it up in
just two episodes left, especially withsome of the new things that are are
coming as of the next episode, and I think there's either they've said or
(02:54):
they've implied that it's going to endon a cliffhanger. So I really hope
this is not one of those situationswhere, um, it's let's end it
on a cliffhanger and then it justends, um, and the show does
not continue. So so yeah, well we'll see where that goes. But
um, but we're here to talkabout and you'll notice that I'm flying solo
today. I was traveling a littlebit this week, so it was a
(03:16):
little bit tough to get things matchedup. It was in a different time
zone, so, um, youknow, my times to be able to
record we're not convenient. And soI want to thank Jason and d for
being flexible and trying to work withme on that. And it was more
my complications. Ah see what Idid there, My complications related to traveling
(03:38):
and being in a different area thanI normally was. So I want to
thank them for being flexible with meand and uh, you know, allowing
me this time just to do thissolo one and get this one out here.
So because it's just me, mightbe a little shorter than usual.
Um, but I don't well,I was gonna say, I don't tend
to joke around with myself, butI do tend to joke around with myself
(04:00):
sometimes. So I will do alittle less so this time, and then
we will We'll look forward to havingthose guys back in the next episode,
which should be an exciting one.Starting off, it'll be the first appearance
of Michael Cutletz's Lex Luthor in theshow, so that'll be it'll be interesting
to see his take on the character. All right, Well, This episode
was called Complications. It came outon June sixth, twenty twenty three,
(04:26):
and I'm going to run through theplot for you real quick. If you
haven't seen it yet, this willbe total spoilers, so maybe go see
the episode, but otherwise this willbe a good review for you if it's
been a few days since you've seenit. Basically, we start off the
episode the Metropolis police are having tofollow all these reports of fake gunshots and
attacks. Superman is chasing these aroundas well. It's Pia, you know,
(04:48):
we know that she has escaped andshe's using this to kind of throw
everybody off the trail. General Grampsis there at the d D and mentions
that with this quote unquote cure thatshe was given, that it's clearly amplified
her powers in some way, butit's also potentially made them less stable than
they were before, because we're goingto find out pretty soon that she is
(05:09):
not cured and she's still second. We get some scenes of Lois prepping for
the surgery, and then we're cuttingkind of back and forth between that and
Pia is again running interference with somefake sounds, and then the whole Manheim
family the whole Bruno Mars family isthere in there. They're heading to the
underground layer, and it's Matteo,it's Bruno, it's Pia. And the
(05:34):
plan is how they're gonna they're gonnaget out of here. How are they
gonna do this now that they've managedto escape and and Mateo get his mom
out of the DoD facility. Andthen we get a part there where Pia
then coughs and it just kind ofcauses her powers to go a little haywire,
so we can see already again sheis not completely cured and this is
(05:57):
going to go downhill pretty quickly. We get a fun scene with Clark and
Kyle and Chrissy at the Smallville Gazette, and Clark and Kyle are kind of
talking through the importance of keeping thesecret, and Kyle's kind of excited about
all this, and and Clark islike, hey, I just lets let's
just calm down just a little bit. Just just be cool, okay,
just be cool, and so finewith all that. But then kind of
(06:20):
what we knew was coming is heis not happy with Chrissy for having lied
to him about it, and hekind of throws it back in her face
and talks about how she was dishonestwith him. She's trying to explain,
look, I'm just keeping a reallyimportant secret here, and he's like,
yeah, but you made me feellike an idiot when I when I felt
like I knew what the secret wasor something related to that, and you
(06:44):
you made me feel like an idiotfor it. And so they have a
little bit of an argument there. We are back to Lana and Sarah is
grounded from what had happened with theDui during the last episode. John,
Henry and Natt arrive and it's thisis the party for Lois and they are
(07:05):
bringing the wings from the place thatLois has said that she would like the
wings from for her party. Sarah, John, Natalie like they're all sitting
there talking in the house. Natalieis still sad about Matteo. Um.
Sarah and Jordan have a little bitmore of a porch argument where they're talking
(07:26):
about how Jordan has been acting latelyand um, and really Sarah is the
one that's being mature here and Jordanis being super whiny pun definitely intended.
Um. So yeah, yeah,So a couple of little fun scenes here
and a couple of little fun oneliners make me cry. Sarah's actually handling
(07:48):
this pretty well, and Jordan needsto grow up just a bit. So
we have Clark and Lois at thehospital. General Gramps and the fraternals are
there in the waiting room as well, and then they get introduced to all
the surgeons and so that's a fewscenes of them kind of prepping for the
surgery. Lon and Sarah talking. You know, Sarah is she's not able
(08:13):
to sleep at night. She's concerned. She's like, well, Jordan hates
me. I never intended for himto hate me with all this, and
and so she's just kind of dealingwith the repercussions of the kind of the
dissolution of their relationship and just everythingthat's been going on. Natalie shows up
at the Mannheim's penthouse apartment. JohnHenry arrives. He had tracked her suit.
(08:35):
They kind of argue over Mateo fora bit and what he did.
John Henry wants her to let himgo and move on because either really,
either way, Mateo is either goingto go to prison or he's going to
be on the run or whatever, and either way there's not really a future
for them. So John Henry iskind of like, look, you just
need to kind of let him goand move on. And whether Nat really
(08:58):
is okay with that or not,she seems to be accepting of that advice.
But you know, I can't quitetell if that's an act or if
it's just a or if she reallytruly kind of understands what her dad's trying
to tell her. But basically sheleaves behind a little cube of the AI
that powers her suit. I wouldimagine ideally if Matteo would show up again,
(09:20):
then she would have a way oftracking him and getting in touch with
him. We're back at the hospitalagain. We get introduced to the team
of surgeons. General Gramps is kindof starting to freak out. He's got
a bunch of questions about his daughter'ssurgery, and this then causes Jordan have
a panic attack. He runs outof the room and John is in the
hallway trying to help him. Clarkcomes out trying to help him as well,
(09:41):
and this pan attack panic attack kindof leads to him getting his X
ray vision, so he's able tostart seeing through walls, seeing through people,
and it's a little haywire, sohe's trying to trying to get this,
you know, settled down, andClark is trying to help him but
can't quite get through to him.And John is the one, you know,
(10:03):
his twin brother, the one thatkind of settles him down and calms
and now it's like, look, just we gotta focus here, we gotta
just you know, make make everything, make everything else go away, just
kind of focus in on one thing, and he talks him through it really
really well. This is where, and I've said it before, this is
where I get frustrated when people onlinewho will say things like, well,
this is so stupid that John doesn'thave powers, John doesn't need powers said
(10:26):
this before. I'll say it again. John is Lois Lane's son, you
know, he's also Superman's son,but he's Lois Lane's son. And so
his power is his ability to talkto people, and it's his ability to
reason with people, and so that'syou know, that's that's his superpower.
(10:46):
He's already got a superpower. Hedoesn't need another one. We're back at
the Manheims. Pia is not well. Her sounds are out of control.
There's power outages in the metropolis, which is messing with the ability for them
to Lois's operation, so they're they'rereally concerned, like what if the power
goes out at the wrong time, because even some of the backup generators are
(11:09):
are kind of getting kicked out bythis power surge. Lana and Kyle are
talking in the next scene something's wrongwith Sarah, and Lana makes a comment
and says, look, she's she'slike she was when she had attempted suicide
before, so we really need tocheck on her and see what's going on.
We cut to another scene of Johnand Jordan and they're talking about his
X ray vision and kind of howit comes through with stress and how a
(11:31):
lot of his powers kind of comethrough in times of stress, and he
makes a funny comment. He's like, yeah, I'm doing okay, but
I am never looking over there everagain, because like on the other floor,
this one lady just gave birth thetriplets, and I'm not I'm not
looking over there. Bruno Mars givesPa another dose of the cure. It
does not work, and if anything, it makes things even worse. Pia's
(11:54):
powers kind of go off the scaleand she liquefies poor doctor Hook and basically
says, look, it's over.I can't control it anymore. This is
the end. I'm I gotta getout of here. Lois is going in
for her surgery and there's this long, very dramatic shot of her being wheeled
down the hall, and I justI want to give some credit to the
(12:16):
show for the whole this entire seasonand how they've kind of gone through with
the cancer storyline for Lois and theyreally haven't pulled any punches with any of
it. I think it's a reallyit was all done really nicely. It
was not rushed in any way.It felt like it was given the kind
of gravity that it would a storylinelike that would deserve, and I think
(12:37):
they did. The writers just dida wonderful job with that. I say
all that with the writer's strike Ibelieve still going on. So if anybody
that runs a movie or TV studioslistening to this, pay your writers and
you'll get good shows like this, and pay them. Well, let's see,
we've got back at the DoD.We've got General Gramp's Superman and John
(12:58):
Henry are there and they're kind oftalking through how they're going to manage all
these power surges and how they're goingto stop Pia Mateo goes back home and
NAT's Ai alerts her. She showsup to help, but then Bruno Mars
busts in and potential for bad thingsto happen there because he thinks this has
all been some kind of a trap. We cut to another scene of Kyle,
(13:18):
Lana, and Sarah. They areat the diner talking with Sarah.
Kyle then kind of shares with herthe look, I also had problems as
a kid. I started drinking reallyyoung. You know. He this this
kind of you know, pep talkof hey, I've gone through some similar
stuff to what you're going through. And the funny part is then the pep
talk kind of turns into a wellkid, get a job, and he
(13:39):
points to the help wanted sign onthe diner. He's like, look,
if you need a purpose, ifyou need something else, must be a
waitress for a little bit, geta job. Bruno Mars, Natalie and
Matteo and John Henry basically John Henry, you know, he's he is there
and then Bruno Mars shows up andand it's a whole show down between everybody
(14:01):
and he basically is like, look, I know, you know. Bruno
is like, look, I knowwhat is going on here, and you're
not going to stop us. You'renot gonna take us anywhere. And John
Henry has had a complete change ofheart at this point. It seems he's
like, look, just stop fightingand let us help, Like we are
here to help. We're not hereto take you down right now. We'll
deal with that stuff later, butwhat you need right now is you need
(14:22):
help. Superman is able to locatePia. She is just outside the Mannheim
Towers building that's being constructed, andhe tries to help her, and you
have these really dramatic scenes of Bruno, Matteo, John Henry, and Natalie
are on the roof of the Mannheimpenthouse and I think Bruno turns to John
(14:43):
Henry and says, is there anythingyou know, kid? Superman do anything?
And you know the answer is probablynot. No. We're at a
point where this is beyond Superman's abilityto save. Superman and Piero talking and
he he kind of basically tells her, look, it's okay to let go,
Like everybody's going to be okay,They'll be taken care of, It'll
(15:05):
be fine. This is similar towhat John had said to Jordan when he
was having his panic attack and hispower, his X ray vision power was
coming in. He basically told hisbrother, He's like, look, it's
okay, it's okay to just letgo, Like you don't have to fight
any of this. Just take abreath. It'll it'll all work out just
fine. So Pia whispers something toSuperman that we can't hear, and he
(15:28):
picks her up and flies her tothe sky. There's a huge explosion of
her powers and she dies. SoSuperman brings her back down to the penthouse,
to the roof of the Mannheim Penthouseapartment and says, you know,
he what she whispered was kind ofthe phrase that she and Bruno would share
(15:48):
with each other. It was kindof their phrase. He says, you
know, she wanted me to tellyou she'll love you both forever and always.
That forever and always was a fewepisodes ago as well, and that
was something they would kind of allsay. They would say back and forth
to each other. We're back inthe hospital waiting room, and kind of
we cut back and forth between somedifferent scenes. We're in the hospital waiting
room, we're in the Mannheim Penthouseroof, Natalie Mateo, John Henry and
(16:12):
Bruno are there, Sarah applies tothe diner. We find out that the
surgery went well. Clark tells Loisthat Pia has died. Sarah does get
the waitress job. Kyle and Lanaare having a discussion. Then we have
a scene where Kyle goes to theGazette to see Chrissy and he basically apologizes,
and he's like, look, Iwas, I was also being stupid,
(16:33):
So I apologize for how I reactedto things. You know, of
course, you know this is ahuge secret and you were keeping it and
I just was I was being verydefensive and kind of dumb. Back at
the DoD, Bruno says, basically, I will tell you everything. I
will. I will get you everythingI stole. I will fess up to
everything. But drop Mateo's charges. You know, just I want him.
(16:57):
I want him to be taken careof it. Do not want him going
to jail for what he did.So I will give you everything you want.
Just drop the charges. And basicallyJohn Henry promises and says, I
will, you know, I promise, absolutely, we will. We will
take care of him. We're backon the Kent Farm. Lois is back
and she's kind of getting tucked intobed, exhausted after everything that's happened.
(17:18):
She and Clark talk for a littlebit about Pia's death, surgery, etc.
And then we end with a sceneback at the Mannheim's underground Layer and
Dead Bizarro Zombie Bizarrow, Zomba ZombaZarro. We'll workshop that we'll find out
a good name for him. ButDead Bizarrow is back. He is up,
(17:40):
and he is angry. So hehad several episodes ago that ended with
him opening up his eyes and wewere kind of wondering, all right,
well that was like three episodes ago, so what are we what are we
doing here? Is he did?He opened up his eyes and closed him
back and just went back to sleep. And so apparently Zomba Bizarro was hitting
the snooze button for the last severalepisodes. But he's awake now and he's
not happy. So we have thatgetting introduced. That's the cliffhanger at the
(18:04):
end of this episode, and thenwe have the promo that played for the
next episode that will be season three, episode twelve, entitled Injustice, and
that one is we got a weekbetween actually we got a two weeks between
episodes, so this one will notbe out until June twentieth, and Lex
Luthor is back, so there's notmuch more to know other than he is
(18:26):
back and seemingly he may get releasedfrom prison because obviously we found out that
it was not him who murdered thosepeople, it was Pia, So we'll
have to see kind of where thatgoes from here. But this is the
only part where I'm even maybe alittle bit concerned, is we gave the
cancer storyline that the time that itdeserved. We gave, you know,
(18:47):
everything that it needed to be asolid storyline for these characters and for the
actors to work through. The wholething was was great, great writing,
you know, great everything. Here'swhere I'm a little bit concerned. Zomba
Zarrow just woke up. Lex Luthoris showing up in the next to last
(19:07):
episode of the season. This isall happening right here at the end,
and I'm looking at this and I'mgoing, what are we going to do
in two episodes? You know,we ended the cancer storyline, or it's
for the most part ended at thispoint. We've it's kind of reached it's
you know, conclusion. There couldbe a bit of an epilogue for it.
But we only have two episodes leftthis season, and you've just introduced
(19:30):
you've reintroduced Bizarrow, and you've justintroduced Lex Luthor, or you're about to
and you've got two episodes to dowhatever it is you're going to do with
it. And so I think I'veeither read or I've heard some rumors that
the episode of the season will endon a cliffhanger. I just really really
hope it's not one of those thatit ends on a cliffhanger and then the
show does not get renewed and itdoesn't come back, or if it has
(19:52):
to move to Max and be onthe streaming service, that's fine, whatever.
But I'm just I'm kind of onewondering what this is going to look
like over the next two episodes tointroduce such a major character and to have
Bizarro wake up. So I'll justbe very, very curious, And I'll
also be curious to see how itties in with the rest of the season,
because it seems from right now,it seems like things have kind of
(20:17):
wrapped up with Bruno Mars and thethe cancer storyline and everything else, and
so I'm just kind of curious howthis will fit in with the rest of
it. Again. The writers forthe show have always done a great job
of, you know, making surethat the story makes sense and then everything
ties together. This I'm just I'mjust I'm wondering, you know. I
(20:40):
guess concerned may not be the rightword, maybe a little bit, but
I'm just kind of wondering. I'mlike wondering where how this will fit in,
where we're going to go from here, will it end on a cliffhanger,
all that kind of stuff. Soall right, like I said,
this one a little bit shorter thanusual, but that's okay because we'll be
back here next week. Are donenext week, We'll be back here in
a couple of weeks. Uh,and hopefully Jason and d will be joining
(21:03):
me for that one. But yeah, so we'll be back after the June
twentieth episode titled Injustice and Lex Luthor'sback baby. Um, all right,
we will see you all back herenext time in a couple of weeks.
In the meantime, up up andaway, and we'll see you soon.
