Speaker 1 (00:00):
I've got you, You've got me, Who's got you?
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Hello, come to me, Son of Jello Neil before So.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Hello everybody, and we're back for another episode of the
podcast Full of Kryptonite. It is Superman of Lois, Season four,
episode three, Always My Hero. This episode may be, more
so than so many others in this series, had so
many surprises, some of them not surprising kind of. I
(00:57):
think there's a lot of speculation that certain things would
be happening at some point, maybe before the end of
the series, or some wishful thinking that some things would
be happening by the end of the series and maybe
in this season, and so we'll talk about those as
we get into it here. But yeah, let's say it's
a lot going on, a lot going on in this episode.
(01:17):
So we are kicking this off with what looks like
a funeral for Clark. Funeral for a friend, if you will,
where my nineties Superman fans at funeral for Clark is
what it looks like. We will learn by the end
of the episode it's not a funeral for Clark. And
then we get a series. We have a bunch of flashbacks,
like I think most of Tyler Hecklan's involvement in the
(01:38):
season so far have been through these flashbacks of seeing
Superman and Lois early on in their relationship, and this
episode in particular, it's all revolving around Superman and Lois's wedding,
Clark and Lewis's wedding, and him revealing to General Lane
General Bramps, he's not General Rams yet that he is Superman.
That scene is just that was loved it, loved it,
(02:04):
and he pulls a bit of a It's not quite
as good, I'll throw this out there, not quite as
good as the transformation in Superman the Motion Picture, when
Christopher Reeve takes off his glasses and suddenly straightens up
and he goes from Clark to Superman and then back
again as soon as he puts the glasses back on.
It's not quite as good as that, and I think
partially because it's broken up a little bit with the
(02:26):
slow motion taking off of the glasses, the reverse horatio
from CSI Miami, Miami has a new breed of chrome.
But yes, so they have this reveal and and General
Lanes I think his response was I loved his response.
Initially it was I'm as he did this like old
(02:47):
Clerk did this old stuttering I'm him, he's me, I'm
him he And I loved General Lane's initial response, Oh,
come on, son, come on, No, no, no no, and
then his response and actually I think he says this
a couple of times in the episode. His response to
seeing him once he's taken the glasses off is well,
Bobby damned. And I forget which moment it was, but
(03:10):
later in the episode he said the same thing. I
don't know if it was when he had been shot
and was, you know, kind of knowing that his demise
was coming soon. So we get as we get out
of the flashback, we get General Lane asking for Bruno
Manheim's serum that had revived Bizarre and there's a little
bit of a debate between General Hardcastle and General Lane
(03:32):
for that. Just a quick reminder, this serum was what
Bruno Manheim had been developing. I think the idea from
the last season was that he could potentially use it
to bring his wife back, but he was also using it.
That's when he had recreated Adam Man who had died
and brought him back as kind of a zombie ish
Adam Man, and the idea being that if he used
(03:53):
that on Bizarro as well, that would be kind of
like a zombish bizarre. It brought people back, but they
were kind of a shell of their former not quite there.
There was a little bit of what you get from
the Batman comics cartoons, different depictions of somebody going into
a Lazarus pit and being resurrected, and this being kind
of like the initial reaction is you're you're screaming, you're
(04:17):
in pain, You're you're just wild and failed, and that
is that's how you first come back, and then eventually
you kind of, you know, calm down, come to your senses,
or somebody you know, knock you on your butt and
then you come to your senses. That is kind of
how things happen with Adamman back in season three. So
he's asking for this, and part of what we are
(04:38):
led to believe is that a little bit later on,
I think it's John Henry who maybe makes this comment
and is worried that General Lane is trying to make
his own monster to fight the but Doomsday Monster. There
is a twist later on obviously that kind of proves
that wrong. But John Henry and Netlie are discussing the
(04:58):
DoD there's a little bit of a I met a
conversation about the abandoned d D School here, and this
scene felt like a note from the actors to the
current owners of the CW, like, look, this is not
what any of us wanted. You need no d D school.
It means no d D school for now, you know,
I know, this isn't what we wanted. And so it
(05:18):
kind of felt like there were all these plans and
this little scene was their letter to the current owners
of the network saying, hey, look, we were on a
roll here. We had this really great show, and we
had some ideas for another really great spinoff show, and
you all killed it. So yeah, so enjoyed that scene.
(05:39):
The big twist. The big twist in this one is
that Jonathan and Jordan are arguing with each other kind
of X Men style, rogue style, just the the tensions,
the the emotions, the stress is as high as it
(05:59):
could possibly be, and you get kind of a sense.
I got a sense when John was pounding his fist
against the the I think it was one of the beams,
the pillars in the barn, and I kept thinking, his
fist is going to smash right through that they're going
to give him powers. They're absolutely going to give him
powers right now. This is how they're going to deal
with the no Superman for them, probably for the majority,
(06:22):
if not the rest of this season, which I had
moments of like, hey, I don't really know how I
feel about that. Then I need I need the last
season with Superman and Lowest to have Superman in it.
I have some thoughts on maybe how it could end,
but yeah, I will leave that for just a little bit.
So I'm watching the scene and I'm thinking, oh, they
are absolutely given John powers, and so we'll see this
(06:43):
just about any second now. And then when he kind
of goes through all that, I'm like, oh, well, maybe
they're not. Maybe they're not. But there was just something
about the scene, just kind of the vibe of the
scene as if you were anticipating something to happen. And
when he sat down after hurting his hand, I thought, Okay,
it's his hand gonna heal. It's gonna heal like immediately,
and he'll be fine, and that's how he's gonna show
(07:03):
he's got powers. And then he sits down and nothing
happens for a moment, and in that little heart beat
of a moment in the back of my mind, I thought,
and suddenly millions of voices on the Superman and Lowis
comment threads on the internet cried out in terror as
John didn't get powers even though they've wanted it for
three seasons, and then there were suddenly silenced when yes,
(07:27):
he does get powers, and it just immediately kicks in.
He's got the vision, he's got the he's got the
x ray vision, he's got the superhering, he's his hand
is healing. He can see his hand heal through the
x ray vision. He's got the he's got the touch,
he's got the power. Stan Bush is there. Everybody's happy.
But yeah, so I have some comments on that, but
(07:47):
I'm gonna leave comments until the end. We'll get through
the review of what happened in the episode that I've
got some comments about that. So we also have Lois
then going to talk to General Gramp's. She needs to
tell him that John has got power now, and he
immediately is kind of running into Yep, we're gonna get
him suited up, We're gonna get him trained. I'm getting
you know, I'm letting you know this time, I'm not
(08:07):
going to train him in secret like I did with Jordan,
and that's we're gonna do that differently this time. We're
really showcasing a lot of General Grams in this episode,
and I knew going into this season we're only getting
him for a couple of episodes, so I kind of figured,
you know what, we're highly featuring him this episode, especially
in flashbacks, something's gonna happen to General Grams. I don't
(08:28):
think General Grams is making it out of this episode.
I was hearkening back to the good old days of
watching the first few seasons of The Walking Dead and
knowing that they no character, at least as far as
you knew, no character in that show was sacred. They'll
kill off anybody. But you felt like, I think you
got a little bit of a sense of, well, if
they If you get a lot of that character's backstory
(08:50):
featured and we start to learn a lot more about them,
that to me felt like the Walking Dead formula in
some of those first few seasons was Wow, we're really
getting to know a lot about this character this episode.
He's gonna die by the end of this episode. And
that's kind of how I felt with the General Lane
piece of this too, was We're getting a lot of
General Lane and the flashbacks. Speaking of flashbacks, we do
(09:13):
have a flashback of Clark coming to General Lane and
asking for his blessing as he is getting ready to
marry Lois and basically comes down to it actually made
me think of a song that I just absolutely hate,
I just absolutely despise, and I don't even remember who
sings it and what the actual name of the song is,
(09:34):
but it's the one. Why you gotta be so rude.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
You say I'll never get your blessings today?
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Love my friend?
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Body answer.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Be so.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Human? So who is so I'm gonna marry anywhere anyway?
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Basically he says, well, I love Lois. I'm going to
marry her whether I have your blessing or not. I
just think it would be really good for your relationship
with Lois if we had your blessing, Like, I'm not
here for me, dude. And he's still respectful. I mean,
Clark is still respectful about the whole thing. Totally disagrees
with General Lane, but is respectful about it as you
would expect Clark and Superman to be. Then we have
(10:24):
a scene with Lex and be Doom's Day and he
is feeding him, So that was kind of gross. That
was a little bit of a gross scene. There. We've
got another scene. Lois and John are kind of talking
about his powers, and I have a little bit of
a heart to heart and I'll tease a little bit
of my thoughts here. But it made me a little
sad in this scene because Lois has lost so much.
(10:45):
She's lost her husband, she has Lex Luthor just bearing
down on her, ready to destroy her life, and now
she's lost her I use the term normal very loosely
in a comic book TV show, but her her non
powered son. What I love about Lois, and I was
gonna save this till later, but what I love about
Lois is that she is married to Superman and he's
(11:08):
able to hold her own. You know, in modern Superman stories,
Lois is not the damsel in distress, the Superman that
to save her on occasion. Absolutely, but she's not the
damsel in distress that she used to be in the
old comics and the old TV shows, the old cartoons.
She can hold her own. She has just as much influence,
if not more so, than Superman does. I love some
(11:31):
of the comics where what was it there was a
comic where Batman made a comment one time that he
was more terrified of Lois Lane than he ever was
of Superman, despite the fact that Superman had all these crazy,
insane powers, that Batman himself in a way feared Lois
Lane and he was not going to mess with her
(11:51):
at all. And so that's the case. You know, Lois
is a strong character. So I was a little sad
about this. What I love the dynamic of and Lois
being the non powered members of this family and what
they bring to the family being the non powered members
of the family. So there was a there was a
part of me that did not want Jonathan to get powers.
(12:12):
We'll see how the rest of the season goes, We'll
see how the story plays out. I kind of liked
it better when, at least at least right now. I
liked it better when John did not have powers and
that he and Lois had that in common. They make
a comment later in the episodes that well, you know,
he's he's there to he wants to help, Like that's
been kind of his whole thing the whole time. Like
(12:34):
his Jonathan's demeanor has been a lot more like Clark's
than Jordan's has been I mean, Jordan's been emotional, He's
been sometimes on the edge. He's been a bit of
a thrill seeker. Sometimes sometimes he's doing it for the attention. Jonathan,
most of his mom has been that he wants to
He genuinely wants to help, he wants to do the
right thing. I think it was General Gramsey who makes
(12:56):
the comment, look, he's even been training to be a firefighter,
which is kind of funny if you go back to
I think it was during the New fifty two. There
was a segment of time where Clark had to give
up the Clark Kent identity. And I didn't get a
chance to look this up ahead of time. I'm just
remembering it off the top of my head. He had
to give up the identity and he became a firefighter,
(13:17):
and I am completely blanking out on what his firefighter
alter ego name was. But for a stretch of time,
Clark was a firefighter with a different name, and that
is what he did as his alter ego to still
continually save people even when he's not in the Superman persona.
So General Hardcastle shows up with I think they called
(13:38):
them squad k and that's what the Steals were going
to be the team. I think they were going to
be leading. And in this scene we get a name
dropped and I thought, I I thought I had heard
it differently, and then I went when I went back,
it sound even more so like almost a Martian Manhunter reference.
The guy that comes in with them for squad K
(14:01):
was see it was John L. Jones, And I went
two different ways with that. I was like John L. Jones,
John Jones, Martian Manhunter. And then some stuff that happens
later in the episode, I'm like, oh, yeah, no, not
definitely not Martian Manhunter. The other part of me was
I was like Don L. Jones, you know what's up?
(14:21):
And then and then I was like, well, there's got
to be some other Like they don't drop names without
it being some kind of comic book connection here. So
I did look up Lieutenant John L. John Jones, former
US soldier later recruited into suicide Squad task for X
out of the command of Steve Trevor and Rick Flagg
in the I Believe in the Suicide Squad movie Wonder
(14:45):
Woman movie. I think those were a couple of the
and maybe one of the suicide Squad animated movies as well,
so he has a character that named John L. Jones
is definitely a character in the DC Cinematic universe. We
get some flashbacks to Jordan's getting his powers for the
first time in the Barn when the all those pipes
fell and he rolled over on Jonathan to protect him,
(15:06):
and that's when we first found out that he was
invulnerable and we started to see the super strength and
the powers come through. Then Lex shows up in the
Barn just randomly and decides to play the Jason Todd
memorial hotline for Jordan so that he can hear that
his mom selected Jonathan. And there's a little bit of
extra text there that was not part of what Lois heard.
(15:29):
You have selected Jonathan. He is your favorite. He is
a good boy, like all this stuff that Lois did
not hear when that phone call happened in the previous episode.
So obviously, Jordan's already at a point where he is
devastated because he feels responsible for the final demise of
his father with the crushing of Clark's heart. He blames
(15:49):
himself for that, and he's at a low point anyway,
so he's even though we know Lex is a bad guy.
He's he's primed to believe him when he plays this
message for him. Back at the DoD, General Hardcastle warns John,
Henry and Natalie about General Gramp's having the serum. And again,
this is where the assumption is, is that, oh crap,
is he going to make his own monster to try
(16:10):
to fight in the doomsday And that's kind of the
assumption going forward with this. Then we have another flashback
to wedding day at the Kent Farm Clark and Martha.
It was nice to have a flashback with Martha featured
in it. Why did you say that name? I'm sorry,
that's a different movie. So Clark and Martha are talking
about the Clark Lowis relationship and General Gramp's is overhearing everything,
and basically it's the same kind of stuff that you
(16:33):
would expect from a Martha Kent conversation. You know. It is,
it's kind, it's compassionate, it's look, if General Lane doesn't
see this, then he's wrong, and you're just you're a
good man, Clark. You're gonna be a good husband, and
you gotta you've tried, You've tried to do what you can.
And if he doesn't see it. Then you know, maybe
he'll come around at some point. But so nice little
(16:56):
scene and just really enjoyed getting to see kind of
that relationship again one more time. We're at the DoD.
Lois and John are there at the DoD. This is
where Jordan confronts them and tells them about the message
that he heard. He's upset, basically calls his mother a liar.
She's trying to explain to him how Lex is using
this pain to pull their family apart, and he's really
(17:18):
not having any of it at this point. But then
they find out that the creature may be on its way,
and so everybody kind of breaks up from there. John L.
Jones shows up and actually holds Gramps at gunpoint with
a phone that has Lex Luthor on the other end.
He is demanding to know where his daughter Elizabeth is,
and Jones says, look, they're kind of holding my family hostage.
(17:38):
I'm sorry, I have to do this, and he ends
up shooting him, and so General Graham's has been shot.
He is down man down Ethan and he is kind
of fading fast there. He's been left by himself in
his office and the only thing that's nearby is the serum,
the super serum that had been real Manheim's serum. And so,
(17:59):
you know, sometimes generals of a certain age have performance issues.
They just need a little something to help get them
going again. And so he shoots himself up with the
serum and is ready to you know, face his day.
Oddly enough, there were no you know, claw foot tubs
that he could be laying and while taking this serum
(18:20):
as part of a commercial for you know, men his age,
but neither here nor there. We have a short little
fight of Ba Doomsday versus the Steals, and they try
to use some of their solar flare weapons that they have,
the missiles that they have to try to slow him down.
The idea being is that he might still have some
of the same weaknesses that he had when he was
(18:40):
bizarre really doesn't do much of anything at all. They
When Ba Doom's Day makes it to the ground, General
Gramps comes out and confronts him. Lex Is on the
phone again and basically says, look, you got one more chance.
You tell me where Elizabeth is or you're done for
and Ba Doom's Day picks him up by the neck
and snaps his neck. Hey, you know something, You're a
(19:04):
real pain in the neck. Yeah, And in that moment,
I'm just sitting there going good grief, like, how much
are you gonna how much are you gonna put the
Kent family through? How much are you gonna put Lois through?
Her husband has been murdered, she's had her son turned
against her, She's now had her dad brutally murdered in
(19:28):
front of her. I mean, this is like, where are
my Star Wars EU fans at? Because if you remember
the kind of torture that the EU authors liked to
put the Solo family through back in the Star Wars
EU novels, if anybody, if you know, you know, if
anybody read those, I'm feeling the same kind of feelings
here what the Kent family is. We're just kind of
(19:48):
putting them through the ringer and it is it's rough,
like it is just the raw emotion in that scene
is rough. We find out though, that the plan all
along was not for General Gramm's to create another but
doomsday type monster, or in his case, a General Looms.
I don't know, I'm not going to try because when
(20:09):
he shot himself up with the serum, the thought was,
wait a minute, is he trying to turn himself into
a monster in some way? And so I almost thought
for half a second, I'm like, oh, wait, are we
getting a like incredible Hulk Gramps Hulk versus but Doom's
day fight here, and that is not the case at all.
So the plan all along was, and Steel and Natalie
(20:31):
kind of reveal this. The plan all along was for General
Grahams to die and having shot himself up with the
super serum, which you know back in the early episodes
of season three, this was the same serum that Bruno
Manheim was using and had I believe a little bit
of Superman's blood in it to resurrect the deceased Adam
Man And kind of how that all worked out. Basically,
(20:54):
General Gamps's plan was, look, it's got some Superman's blood
in it, and if I I'm not going to make
it out alive in this episode because people have learned
too much about me and I've been in too many flashbacks,
then use my heart that once I die, take my
heart and put it in Superman's chest, and that is
the It may not work, but it's the best chance
(21:16):
we've got. The world needs a Superman. And so this
is what needs to happen. And so basically, you know
General Gramp's his heart is flown to the fortress. And
if I'm remembering cry I didn't write it down on
my notes, but remembering correctly, I'd believe John Henry is
the one that flies it there and basically tells Hollo, Mom,
look this is all we got, and she says, well,
(21:37):
it's not. It's a human heart, Like, it's not gonna work.
He's like, nope, it's if this has had Superman's blood
flowing through it, it's got the serum in it. It's
the best shot we've got. You need to do something.
And I'm sitting there thinking of all this amazing Kryptonian technology.
I mean, you'd think, yeah, it shouldn't be at least
in the comics. I know that Krypton was known for
(21:58):
their expertise in Clone at one point in time, and
saw I'm like, we got all this great technology, give
it a try. Mom, like, what how much worse can
things possibly get? So? And I think she even says
at some point she's like, look, I can't even if
it were to revive him, I can't guarantee that this
is going to work. It's it may not bring him
(22:18):
back the way he should be, and I have reservations
about this. It's I don't know, and I have some
thoughts about that. But I will go into that, you know,
a little bit later as we kind of wrap up
this episode at General Graham's where my Star Trek Next
Generation fans are out there General Graham's Tasha Yar's everybody
with his holographic goodbye message from his DoD holocron that
(22:39):
he had, and he's telling everybody how much he loves them,
telling Lois how much he loved her. And turns out
that the funeral at the beginning that we saw beginning
of the episode, we saw it wasn't for Clark, but
was for sam Lane. And then at the end of
the episode, we cut to Clark getting General Grahm's's heart.
He's got his heart, He's in his kind of regeneration
Macks chamber, and in the final moment he wakes up
(23:03):
in the fortress and boom we are. We're off to
the races. Now, we don't know exactly what that means
for Clark. We don't know what Clark we're going to
be getting back here because as we've seen with other
instances of this serum, people come back and they're kind
of a screaming mess to begin with. So we'll just
(23:24):
have to see. We'll have to see what kind of
Clark we get back, and I'm sure, as we had
in the Justice League movie, you know that Clark may
come back and at first may not be himself. I
think it would be also exciting to get another I
always love a good black and silver suit, and we
know how much the writers and showrunners of this show
(23:45):
do love nineties Superman stuff, So we're not gonna I
doubt we're getting super Mullet because he hasn't known for
that long, but I would be very excited to see
another rendition of the good old black and silver suit.
Doubtful that he's going to be a gun toting Superman
that he was in the Return of Superman comic books,
(24:06):
and so we will probably skip that part. But Yeah,
a couple things about this episode, like some feelings I had.
I already kind of stated my thoughts on Jonathan getting powers.
I was always a proponent of Jonathan not getting powers.
I like his character so much it doesn't matter which
of the actors is playing Jonathan. I really like his
(24:28):
character and the strength of his character as someone who
is holding his own in a family of superpeople. He
and his mom. I love the relationship with he and
his mom, that they are the non powered people in
this family, and they are just as vital to this family,
if not even more so sometimes than the superpowered people are.
(24:50):
And he holds his own with his brother. He's got
a superpowered brother, and he's still holding his own with
him and sometimes grounding his brother. And so what I'm
hoping is these powers I see, especially in this episode,
it driving a little bit more of a wedge between
the brothers because now you know, Jordan is already reeling
from everything. Now he's going to be looking at this going,
(25:11):
oh great, well, now I'm not even special anymore. The
favorite son now also has powers. So what have I
got that makes me special? So I see that kind
of driving a little bit of a wedge. However, if
Clark is revived and comes back, that's going to be
a massive boost. That's going to be just an adrenaline shot,
and based on what General Grams did to himself, punt
(25:32):
and tender there and adrenaline shot of hope to this family.
Just after everything they've been through to have Clark come back,
and I don't know how quickly you know they'll they'll
see him come back after we see him get revived
at the end of the episode, But that is going
to be a huge boost to the family. Hopefully that
kind of can take care of some of the just
stress and strife and division that's been going on. One
(25:56):
of the things that especially this being the final season,
I I don't want them to spend a ton of time.
And I know sometimes TV shows have a tendency to
do this. They just they languish in the drama of
the interpersonal relationships, and you know, everybody until the very
final episode of the season, everybody's just down on each
other and at each other's throats. And I don't really
(26:18):
want to see that from this show. This show has
always been, lack of a better term, super hopeful, and
that is one of the things I don't want to see.
I don't want to see these characters spend too much
time just sitting in that. I'm angry, I'm jealous, I'm
all of these different things. I want them to move
(26:39):
on from that. I want there to be I want
the rest of the action of this season. I mean,
we're already almost halfway through. It's only a ten episode season,
and we just finished episode three, so we're a third
of the way through this season. I kind of want
to see the family come together. I want to see
them just continue to build towards the finale that we're
going to see. However, we're going to finish off this
(27:02):
season and this series, so I'm I hope they don't
spend too much more time in the well, given how
much time we've got left in that kind of doom
and gloom, the phase, a couple of the other things.
I was pretty surprised that they ended up going back
to that serum and that they ended up choosing to
(27:24):
go the route of well, General Gram's we'll just use
his heart for that. He can shoot it up at
the serum and we've got it. It's great, it's gonna work.
Here is where I'm going to make a little bit
of a wild speculation, and I kind of hope it
comes true, but at the same time, I'm totally fine
if it doesn't. I'm just throwing this out there. One
of my favorite stories and one of my favorites, let's say,
(27:44):
quote unquote endings to the Superman legend is in the
comic book series All Star Superman and spoiler alert for
All Star Superman skip ahead maybe like thirty seconds if
you don't want to hear it. Basically, in that comic
Superman finds out that he is dying and that he
(28:05):
has very limited time left, and by the end of
that series, he basically goes and kind of super charges
himself and goes and flies himself to the center of
the Sun so that he can continue to sustain Earth's sun,
and that he can never leave the Sun, but he
will kind of always be there in the center of
Earth's Sun, continuing to sustain its power and its energy.
(28:28):
So he's once again keeping the Earth alive. He's keeping
all the people of Earth alive and safe through this
selfless act. I almost want to see that as how
they're going to end the season, because they imply that
General Lane's heart may not be enough. It's a human heart,
and I think at the end of the episode we
get that such as a gentle reminder. We get the
heart beat sound as we fade to the ending title
(28:51):
card for the episode, and it's a two beat heart,
and we made the comment or Jordan I think made
the comment before. He's like, no, Dad's heart beats differently
than other people's. A It has like a three beat.
It's a bubb abuf baba ba ba ba ba, whereas
a human heart is bababo baba babum. And so we
hear the two beat of the human heart. And what
(29:14):
I'm wondering is, now that Jordan has powers, now that
Jonathan has powers, are we going to wrap up this
season with Clark maybe not as strong as he had
been because he's working with the human heart as opposed
to the Kryptonian heart, and he's got to prepare his sons.
I mean, it was a sudden, violent death before, and
(29:35):
maybe now he knows my time is limited. I'm back.
I have to deal with the Lex Luthor threat. If
Brainiac is going to be a threat, because he got
name dropped, and the showrunner has kind of hinted that
maybe he is going to be. We got to deal
with this threat. But I also have to prepare my
sons for life without me, and so that the rest
of the season would be a slightly less powerful Superman
(29:58):
preparing his sons to replace him, basically as the protector
of Earth, you know, for time beyond when he's going
to be there, and I would love that. I would
love that for that to be the end of this saga,
this take on Superman, if that he knows his time
is limited and the best thing that he can do
(30:19):
to continue to save the people of Earth is to
I launch himself into the sun. And now he's always there.
He's always going to be there, but not with his
family in person. And this time around, they will have
had time to prepare for him to leave them, and
that he has prepared his sons well, and that they
go on to be heroes and they're all right. So
(30:44):
if they don't, if they don't know, they're out. If
it's a if, it's a happy ending and the family
gets to be all together, and that is how we
end the series. I am totally fine with that too.
I just had in the back of my mind when
hollow Mom says, U, oh, look, this is a human heart.
This is not going to work. It's it's not it
won't be an I just had him in the back
of my mind a thought like, Okay, so maybe they're
(31:04):
setting us up for we need to be prepared. That
Clark being back is just a temporary thing. Maybe it's not,
and if it's not, I'm totally fine with that. But
in the back of my mind, I'm thinking they're possibly
setting that up, and if so, what is a great
way that they could even if we have Clarke back temporarily,
what's a great way that we could end this now
(31:26):
knowing that both of his sons are going to have
powers and that this Kryptonian human line, this hybrid line,
is going to continue through them. So if that's what
they do, awesome. If that's not what they do, awesome.
I just I really enjoy this show either way, so
I am on board for whatever they want to do.
Lots of twists, earns, lots of shocks this episode. Going
(31:48):
into this episode, did not anticipate General Gramp's dying, did
not anticipate John getting the powers, did not anticipate Clark
being revived by the end of it. So we got
a lot of stuff going on here. Very very excited
for the next episode to come out, and that one
will be out again next week. Join us back here
for that one real quick. I did want to mention
(32:09):
there might be some people asking, Hey, where's where's Dean Jason.
Dean Jason, we talked about this. All of us are
super busy, no pun intended, super busy, and so with
their schedules, my schedule, I basically said, hey, guys, I
will totally take the podcast full of Kryptonite and I
will I will do the recordings for this. If you
(32:29):
guys want to, you have time to chime in. Absolutely,
if we can have some guests come on and co
host this with me as we go through this last season,
we may grab some folks. I might see if Tristan Martin,
who has been on here with us before, is able
to jump in from time to time. But yeah, so
it's just we kind of have with all the other
podcasts and other things that we do, everybody is, you know,
(32:51):
life is finding a way to sometimes prevent us from
podcasting about Superman stuff. So that's absolutely fine. I am
so thank full of that. We did have three seasons
together of this show that we could talk and just
share some of our love of Superman and the Superman stories,
and so just always appreciate those guys and especially for
(33:12):
you know, giving me an opportunity to be on a
show with them regularly. We have known each other for
years and years now and so just always always appreciate
everything the Bay bring to the world of podcasting and
pop culture stuff. And and they're you know, the Surely
podcast is you know, always always ready to go in
my podcast Q. So if you have not been listening
to that, and make sure you go check out their show.
(33:34):
You can always check out my other show as well.
I am the host along with a couple of other
folks of the thirty something Movie Podcast, where we talk
about movies that have reached their thirtieth anniversary. We're in
nineteen ninety four right now, getting ready for ninety five
here in just a couple of months, so go check
that out as well. We've covered we've covered a couple
of Superman movies from time to time over there, and
(33:54):
we've got a lot of good stuff going on over
there as well. But this is the podcast full of Kryptonite,
and I'm super excited to be back here again next
week with another great episode. Barreling on through this season
so much fun. So sad for it to be the
final season of this show, but I am so looking
forward to how they're going to you know, close this
one out and and give us a really satisfying ending
(34:18):
to the story of Tyler and Bitsi's Superman and Lois.
Everybody up, up and away. We'll see you back here
next week. God, God, talk to my nest.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
Got so back, the Food, the super Dream listed Love,
the Ballot,
