Speaker 2 (04:00):
Okay, and it is Monday, and it is I really
take it that it is the four day weekend. I mean,
I think we're doing a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. I
think people are taking Monday off that may in fact
even be the designated holiday, although of course you know
(04:20):
the fourth is was on Friday. But this is Monday.
And I still I suspect that, regardless of whether it
is or not, you're doing an ad hoc Monday off.
You're just it's not necessarily the day that you're supposed
to be taking, but I know you're taking it anyway.
So Happy Summer, Happy Independence Day, Happy Monday, seven am.
(04:46):
If you have your eyes open from the previous night,
or if you happen to have got one of those
hardy souls that we have who listen to Politics by Jake,
and actually it gets up at seven in the morning
to listen to the show. This is Jake. This is
Politics by Jake. And I am your host, your political commentator,
your student historian, and I am here to give you
(05:08):
our usual biweekly overview of what's going on in the world.
And I started off the show and we're on biweekly Monday, Friday,
seven am, KCAA Radio dot Com one O two point
three FM. One oh six point five FM ten fifty
on the AM dial, and you can go to Kcaradio
(05:33):
dot com. That's the website and you can listen there.
You can either listen to what is called the live stream.
Just click on the Monday schedule, since the today's Monday,
click on the Monday schedule and that will open up
and you will see me. I am right there at
seven am, next to Stephanie Miller, and click on my page.
Click on my beautiful photo. My page will come up.
(05:53):
You'll see all my shows, including the most recent one,
and you can click on that. Either on the live
stream you can listen to that, or you can do
the download and you can just download it to your
device and listen to it whenever you want. And this
is great because, after all, this is the third decade
of the twenty third century, twenty first century, and we
don't need to be up at seven am. For those
(06:14):
of you who are I'm up with you. How are
you doing? But you don't need to do that. Look
into the device thing. Digital electronics are really a good
thing's all right. And the song that I played at
the beginning of the show was an arrangement of Paul
Simon's Look for America, and I played that show because
(06:37):
you have heard me say recently, now you kind of
always heard me say it. But a fascist cabal has
taken control of the judicial, the legislative, and the executive branches,
and it has done so in a minority way. Donald Trump,
for example, was elected with only forty nine two percent
(07:00):
of the vote. He is a minority president. He lies continually.
He will get on the air whenever he has the
chance because part of his sickness, which is a malignant
narcissistic behavioral disorder, is that he has to be the
center of attention on everything, and when he's not, he
(07:25):
gets mightily disturbed. And he even does this via tweets
on a truth social his truth Socialism. It's like it's
like calling you know, it's like saying military intelligence. It's
like an oxymoron. So but we have that, and we
(07:45):
did this because we're in a fight. We have this bill,
which is called the Big Beautiful Bill. That's the official
name of it. It's like everybody calls Obamacare the Affordable
Care Act, because the name of it is not Obamacare,
it's the Affordable Care Act. This is called the Big
(08:08):
Beautiful bill, and it's an abomination, it's revolting, and it
is the most far reaching austerity bill. And I told
you that this was what they were going to do,
and I told you why they were going to do it,
and I told you what was going to happen as
a consequence of it. And I say this to you now,
(08:31):
not to be pejorative towards you, not to be stentorian,
not to be negative at all, but just to say,
listen to Politics by Jake Muddy and Friday seven Am.
Cheap plug. But that's all. Keep listening, because I'll tell
you what's going on. As I've often said, you know,
(08:56):
I'm not very good at plumbing. If I have a
problem in my house with me, I don't try to
fix it myself. I go to somebody who I know
knows plumbing. Same thing with this. Don't feel bad. Some
people say to me, Jake, who the heck are you
to say that you know these things better than I? Well,
I mean I do. I've studied, sorry, and so I
(09:16):
do know these things. Come to me. Politics by Jake.
We'll do political education here, that's part of what we do,
and we'll explain these things to you, so you don't
get fooled again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool
me twice, shame on me. All Right, So with that,
(09:37):
let's go ahead, and we're going to be talking about this.
Let's go ahead and talk about just the elements of this.
It's just it's an abomination. And it was passed on.
It was signed on July fourth, Independence Day, the two
hundred and forty ninth year of American Independence. And I
(09:57):
fear lest we shall not have many more with this
cabal this and it's just, look, it's a cash grab. Well,
let me before I say that. Let's go into this.
It's the big beautiful Bill, Act HR one, signed into
law by President Donald Trump only four twenty twenty five.
(10:21):
It's a three point four trillion dollar package. It consolidates
multiple policy initiatives into a single measure, and it marks
a major legislative achievement for the President's second term. And
I say this pejoratively. That's like saying that World War
two and the deaths of tens of millions of people
(10:44):
was a laudable act on the part of Adolf Hitler.
That's what it's like saying, so we must temper our observations.
When someone says a major legislative achievement, this is an
Obama nation. There's no other way to describe it, all Right,
So the key provisions tax and economic measures, a permanent
(11:08):
extension of the twenty seventeen tax cuts. Now, the twenty
seventeen bill has been described as the great tax scam
of twenty seventeen, and because it to a great extent,
favored the wealthy and didn't really favor I mean, you
had these these just pathetic by people who didn't listen
(11:31):
to politics, by Jay cheap Plug, they were trying to support.
And this is wrong. It's completely wrong to and it
dams Trump and the legislators who passed the twenty seventeen
tax scam by faint praise. One person came on and
famously said, you've probably heard this that because of the
(11:54):
twenty seventeen tax cut, I now can afford an extra
small fries at the end of each week. Another person said,
because of the twenty seventeen tax scam. Well, I didn't
say it that way. Because of the twenty seventeen tax cuts,
if I budget carefully, I can just about pay my
(12:18):
Prime membership, you know, Amazon Prime for an annual fee.
I can do that. This is pathetic, This is tragic.
It is tragic that some people who don't listen to
politics by Jake, cheek plug, who don't listen to politics
by Jake, say these things, people who say these things.
(12:42):
And I say this compassionately. Yes, I'm energized, I'm excited.
I'm half Irish and that's part of the reason why.
But I'm energized, and I'm excited, and I'm concerned, and
I hate the twenty seventeen tax scam, just as I
hate this bill. But people shouldn't say stuff like this.
(13:03):
People shouldn't support enthusiastically abominations and try to find the
good in it. So anyway, that created a situation where
you had these inordinately tipped towards the wealthy tax benefits
and tax cuts. But they were due to sunset in
(13:24):
December of twenty twenty five, and if Joe Biden or
Kamala Harris had been elected, they would have And at
this point, let's take a break, and this is politics
by Jake, and we will be back after these messages.
And now here's a word for one of our sponsors
in Twain consulting Hi this is Jake with Twain Consulting.

Forward Slash Politics by Jake, No filters, no fluff, just
the truth. Let's do this together, and this is politics
by Jake. And as usual, we are back and thank
you toin Consulting, Thank you Patreon. And so we're moving
on with us and we're going to be well. I
don't know if I'm gonna get a chance to talk
(15:34):
to about job. The reason I played the song Look
for America by Paul Simon is because this is this
is a crucial moment in the history of America. And
like I said, I'm going to spend a lot of
time on the show talking about this. This is absolutely crucial.
(15:56):
We now have to look and see where America is because,
as I said at the beginning of the show, and
as I often say, the fascist cabal, there's no doubting this.
Don't say authoritarian, don't say conservative, don't say reactionary. It's
a fascist cabal. How do we know that they're fascist, Well,
(16:19):
there are several ways they tried to take over the
government and subvert a legal election in January sixth of
twenty twenty one. They did so violently. And I'm talking
about Donald Trump. And I'm not only talking about Donald Trump,
but I'm talking about the people who held his coat
while he did it. I'm talking about them. And that
(16:42):
also includes Mitch McConnell, who talks out of both sides
of his mouth, you know, admittedly, but he's supporting it now.
He's the one who said about the eight hundred and
eighty billion dollars. He said this recently about the eight
hundred and eighty billion dollars of Medicaid cuts. He said,
the people will get used to it cuts a third
of the people out of healthcare. How are they going
(17:04):
to get used to that? This is monstrous, It's an abomination.
It's a revulsion. So that's why I say, I mean,
this is the most large There hasn't been a larger
taking of people off of insurance in the history of
the United States. I mean, it's just austerity. It's killer austerity.
(17:26):
And you know, in the Nuremberg Laws, if a government
withheld basic fundamental things like food, housing, clothing, healthcare from
its people, that was considered genocide and it was actionable
under the Nuremberg laws. And I'm not talking about the
(17:48):
ones that Hitler created. I'm talking about the ones that
were created in order to deal with Hitler and his
fascist cabal and to put them rights. And this is
the same thing. So all right, I was going to
talk about this, and I am going to talk about
it where I left off talking about it when we
went to break and listened to twin consulting. The patreon
(18:09):
was that that if Kamala Harris and Joe Biden had
been in power, these tax cuts would have expired, and
in the lingo that's called sunsetting, they would have sunset.
It would have happened in just about five months, in
December of twenty twenty five. But because of what's happened,
(18:33):
the permanent extension of the twenty seventeen tax cuts has occurred.
The bill permanently extends the individual tax rates from twenty
seventeen tax cuts and the Jobs Act, which were set
to expire at the end of twenty twenty five. And
in contrast, since we're going to be talking about this,
(18:55):
what Joe Biden wanted to do and why there was
literally a coup by the corporatist Democrats led by Barack
Obama and Nancy Pelosi, but there were others, but were
led by those who went to the private meetings. And
thanks to Alessandria Acasio Cortes, we have the knowledge of
what was said. These people who all we want to
(19:18):
get reelected, these corporatists, these Clintonistas, these gorilla Democrats as
they used to be called, because they were an aberration
from the New Deal system, which is the best type
of democrat there is. And I've explained that on the
show before as well, because in these meetings, these corporatist
(19:40):
Democrats were crying out my donors, my donors, my donors,
when Ocasio Cortes said, rightly so, they should have been saying,
my constituent, my constituents, my constituents, to hell with the donors.
These are the people who don't want people like Biden
to win. They threw them out. They forced him out.
They confirmed what George Carlin said once in a famous
(20:03):
bit of his when he talked about the illusion of choice.
They threw him out. They used Barack Obama to throw
him out. They used Nancy Pelosi and the others to
throw him out. Why I'll tell you why, because he
got up and he said, you know, you fat cats,
you financial criminals. They didn't really say that. I'm saying
(20:26):
that finance all the gards, you hedge fund hyenas. You've
gotten rich off of America. That's great. Those are actually
his words. The criminal stuff, that's me. He went easy
on them. He said, that's great, you've gotten rich off
of America. Pay your fair share. Pay into the country
(20:47):
that made it possible. Do you think China is making
this possible. Do you think Russian Federation is making it possible?
Do you think North Korea is making it possible? No,
they're not. It's the United States. So he said, pay
your fair share. And here's what I'm thinking. This is
him talking paraphrasing. Let's have a twenty five percent alternative
(21:12):
minimum tax rate for corporations. Let's have a top tax
rate of twenty eight percent. And you know, in the
nineteen fifties, under Eisenhower, you know what the top rate was.
It was ninety percent. And the corporations they got along
just fine on ninety percent. But this is twenty eight percent.
(21:35):
And he also said, let's have a capital gains tax
value on capital gains at the time you're holding them,
not if you sold them, not if you transferred them,
but at the time you're holding them. And let's make
that twenty eight percent. You know, these kinds of things,
these capital gains, This is the way a lot of
these finance oligarchs and these other people, these derivative dummies,
(21:59):
these fan ryenez, these people who work have enough money
to be able to work in the casino economy. That's
how they make a lot of their money. They do
a little work too, but they make a lot of
their money this way. So let's tax that at twenty
eight percent. Pay your fair share. It's great that you've
gotten rich off of America, just pay your fair share.
(22:23):
And of course he said this because we have already
run up enormous, enormous death that have to be solved,
and this would have solved them. It would have completely
solved them. And you know what they did. Threw him out.
They did a palace coup and they threw him out
as it were, I mean, they went with Kamala Harris
as a candidate. They didn't want her either. What they
(22:46):
wanted was an open convention and they wanted to get
some damn ultra left in there. And the reason I
say pejoratively like that is something I'll talk about on
another show. But they want the ultra lefts to run
because the ultra lefts will lose. They want the Republicans
to win. But they're playing both sides of the fence.
So the aultar lefts with all of these radical ideas
(23:09):
that are losers. They're complete losers. The Green New Deal,
it's a loser. Defund the police, it's a loser. Nobody's
going to vote for that. And that's what happened to
Kamala Harris. They found a tape. Bill Clinton was stumping
for her in the Southern States and towards the end
(23:30):
of the campaign, you know, towards towards the election, and
he saw that the Republicans there were running an ad
and it had to do with transgender prisoners, federal money
being granted for transgender prisoners to have the operation. And look,
(23:51):
you know what my attitude about is on this people
talk about Adam and Eve Eve, and we're going by
the Christian story. We're going by the mythos, which I
neither deny or admit. I'm just talking because I know
a lot of these Christians out there. They deal with
(24:13):
the Bible, they deal with the Old Testament. They accept
the Old Testament, and it says that there's Adam and Eve.
Eve was taken out of the rib of Adam. What
does that mean to you? What it means to me
is that Adam was originally an androgynist being, having both
male and female parts incased within him. And in order
(24:35):
to create the separation that the plan of salvation that
these people talk about applies, there had to be a
separation from the androgynous person of Adam, and they created
Eve was literally created out of Adam. And so people
don't believe this, but it's right there in the Bible.
(24:57):
They see it. But anyway, as a consequence of this,
they are inflamed and outraged because they are apostate religious
concepts where they're ignorance, they have no idea. They have
a Bible in front of them and they don't read it,
and when they read it, they don't understand it. Even
when it's playing smack in their faith, they don't understand it.
(25:19):
And then they presume to bring these religious beliefs about
which there should be a solid wall between them and
a secular government. There should be no religion in a government,
and they attempt to bring these things into the political
foray and I say, you are fair game, sir, You
(25:41):
are a fair game. And there is no mercy for
you in looking at your apostate Christian views from a
book that you read, and you don't even understand that
you can make up such stories. So anyway, this is
the ad that was running and President President Clintons that
they were running about half of all the ads that
(26:04):
they were running against Harris, about half of them were this.
And what does that mean? You have backwards people in
the South. I'm not saying they're all backwards, but you
know a lot of them. You have backwards be knighted
people in the flyover zone, and they respond to stuff
(26:25):
like it doesn't matter whether it's right or wrong, who's
right or wrong, It's not going to win you an election.
And the corporatists know that. That is why they want
to run people like that. They want to run Alessandro
Acasio Cortes in twenty twenty eight. Why democratic socialists? Who's
(26:49):
another democratic socialist? Let's think Bernie Sanders, and Bernie's great
and I love Bernie, and Bernie's mind is right it
really is. I mean, he knows where it's at. It's great,
he's great. He's great in Maine. He wins there. All
the time. He gets out of Maine, he doesn't win.
(27:10):
He can't win. Why because of the backward people who
don't know what socialism is, don't know what democratic socialism is,
who think it's just knee jerk. It's like a red
flashing light in their head. We can't vote for this
democratic socialism. And it doesn't matter if they listen to
(27:32):
politics by Jake. As you know, frankly, everybody in the
country should stop at seven am Pacific time and should
listen to politics by Jake on Mondays and Fridays. They should.
They should. But the people who listen to politics by
(27:52):
Jake know better than this. But they don't listen to
politics by Jake, not all of them. We're working on it,
and so they run a foul of these things and
they become confused by these things. There's nothing socialist in
Bernie Sanders platform. There's nothing democratic socialist in Bernie Sanders platform.
(28:14):
There's nothing socialist in Alsanira Cortes's platform. There's nothing democratic
socialist in it. There's nothing I don't know why they
do it. Anyway, we got off on that screen, so anyway,
time to take a break and we'll hear again from
(28:35):
Twin Consulting and then we'll be back. And this is
politics by Jake.
Speaker 4 (28:43):
And now there's a word for one of our sponsors
in Twain Consulting.
Speaker 2 (28:50):

Now let's get back to Jake and politics by Jack.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
Hi. This is Jake with politics by Jake to tell
you you're not crazy. The system is rigged. Help us
say it louder, won't you join us at Patreon dot com.
Forward slash Politics by Jake. Okay, and this is politics
by Jake, and we are back, and I got off
(29:53):
on some things there and I'm not sorry, but I
am kind of sorry because I want to get over
the things in this tax bills. So we're gonna talk
about this. So no Tax on Tips Act. I'm just
gonna tell you about it, and I'm not gonna we'll
comment on it later. Eligible tip workers can deduct up
(30:15):
to twenty five thousand dollars of reporting cash tips from
federal income taxes for tax year twenty five to twenty
twenty five through twenty twenty eight, and only lasts for
three years. This applies to individuals earning up to one
hundred and fifty thousand dollars annually three hundred thousand dollars
for joint filers. Good luck making one hundred and fifty
(30:37):
thousand dollars annually on a salary of a server. Good
luck for that. So much of this stuff is a joke.
Speaker 4 (30:46):
It's a joke.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
It's like Evil incarnate. It's like the devil himself thought
up these things. Okay. Overtime Paid Deduction introduces a temporary
deduction for overtime pay up to twelve thousand five hundred
for individuals, twenty five thousand dollars for couples, phases out
at higher income levels. Social Security Benefits tax Relief provides
(31:14):
a temporary six thousand dollars deduction for seniors earning up
to seventy five thousand dollars. Seniors are typically poor earning
up to seventy five thousand dollars, and twelve thousand dollars
for joint filers up to one hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
Aimed at reducing federal income taxes on Social Security benefits.
(31:36):
Immigration and Border Enforcement increased funding for immigration enforcement because
they ran out of money last month. Allocates approximately one
hundred and seventy billion to immigration and border enforcement efforts,
notably enhancing funding for immigration at customs. At Fortunate, I
saw some Trump, some shiff for the right, get up
(31:59):
and talk about how immigration and enforcement is good, and
it is in a way I mean it is. I
mean there are some people shouldn't let them in the country.
If they're criminals, they shouldn't be able to get into
the country. But immigration is the lifeblood of any nation.
We need the immigrants, invariably, the immigrants that come in
(32:24):
here bring good things, not bad things, and so we
should be focusing on this. We shouldn't be focusing on
getting rid of two year old children. We shouldn't be
focusing on the use solely, which is the law of
the land, the law of the soil, that if you're
born on this country, you're a citizen of this country.
(32:45):
We shouldn't be getting rid of four year old children.
So anyway, a border wall construction includes funding for the
construction of additional border barriers and improvements to customer and
border protection facilities, sourcal services, and healthcare cuts some Medicaid
and SNAP. I told you about that. Significant cuts the
(33:07):
Medicaid Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program that SNAP, leading to concerns
about the impact on low income Americans. Elimination of clean
energy tax credits. The legislation rolls back incentives for clean energy,
potentially hindering the adoption of electric vehicles the growth of
renewable energy. Defense and infrastructure. Increased defense spending, well, you're
(33:33):
going to need that allocates one hundred and fifty billion
in new defense spending, including funds for uncrewed drones and
other advanced military technologies. I'm actually kind of for that
I'm going through the elements now. I don't have time
to comment on it. We'll get to it. Air Traffic
Control Modernization provides troll point five billion for the modernization
(33:54):
of air traffic control system, a fiscal and political impact
projected increase in national debt. The Congressional Budget Office estimates
the bill will increase the national deficit by three point
four trillion by twenty thirty four. Healthcare coverage losses the
legislation is protected to result in twelve million Americans losing
(34:16):
health insurance by twenty thirty four. Partisan support and opposition,
the bill passed the House by a narrow two hundred
and eighteen to two hundred and fourteen vote, in the
Senate by a fifty one to fifty vote, with Vice
President JD. Vance casting the tie breaking vote. It wouldn't
have even a cap pasted unless the Hillbilly, the Hillbilly
(34:40):
Elegy vice President who's changed his name a couple of times. JD.
Vance is not his actual name, casting the tie breaking vote.
It faced unified Democratic opposition and internal dissent within the
Republican Party. And as you've heard me say, you know,
(35:01):
periodically through the show, I look at this with disgust
and scorn and contempt at the operations of the US Congress.
We're seeing here parliamentary cretinism run wild on the Maga side.
(35:21):
The various people who used to be Republicans. These people
are not Republicans. Don't kid yourself. They are Maga fascist
trumpets who are now subjects. They're mere hellots. A hellot
in Greek is the slave of the Maga cult, and
they're seemingly ready to deliver whatever Trump wants. It's disgusting.
(35:49):
This is a con man, he's a grifter, he's a
thirty four time felon. The state of Georgia is aching
to get their hands on him because they know he
interfered in their state election and they want to indict
him and they want to put him in prison.
Speaker 9 (36:09):
Some of these.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
Hellots go through a kind of routine of pretending that
they won't vote for it. This I despise. I think
Senator Ron Johnson at Wisconsin is like a past master
and champion of this.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
I'm not going to vote.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
I won't vote. No, no, no, no no, And then miraculously,
at the last moment, he has his Damascus Road conversion.
For those of you who are not religious or never
read the Bible, or don't care, I don't know, whatever
it is. Paul the Apostle was on his way to
(36:55):
do the work of the Pharisees and persecute Ristians in Damascus.
And he was on the road to Damascus, and you know,
Jesus Christ appeared to him and he had a conversion,
and he became the great Apostle of the Gentiles. And
that's you know, it's called the Damascus wrote conversion. And
(37:17):
that's what we often see with these people. They're not
converting to Christianity because Christianity doesn't preach anything like this.
When you go to Matthew twenty five, and you see
who actually gets into heaven and who doesn't, it's the
people who did the most to stop poverty and to
help poverty and to help their fellow man, and none
(37:41):
of the other stuff. To this God, this Christian God,
doesn't matter. We did these marvelous works, we did these miracles,
We did all these things in your name for the Mormons.
We did our genealogy doesn't matter. I never knew you,
he said, and he calls them the goats. So this
(38:06):
is absolute nonsense. Now we're going back to the House
of Representatives, which here the level of psychosis, of course,
has historically been higher. I mean, we must note that
the usual tendency is for the House to pass things
that are more extreme, more paranoid, you know, more hate
(38:32):
filled than the Senate. And of course this was the
idea of the founders, right, They didn't trust the people.
That's why we have a hybrid form. That's why we
have a democratic republic. It's both democratic and republican form
of government.
Speaker 7 (38:53):
You have.
Speaker 2 (38:54):
The Senate is the cooling saucer. You know, when you
pour something into you pour something hot, like tea or
coffee into a cup, it's very hot. And what you
do and I never understood this when I was a kid,
and I saw this happen, and I never understood it
is that it would spill over into the saucer, and
I thought, why are you spilling off it? It's the
(39:18):
cooling saucer. It expands the heat, it gives the heat
a place to escape, to out into the air. The
cooling saucer. It's a jargon term, and it's supposed to
be one of the guarantees against you know, these wild
swings in domestic policy, but this time it has been
(39:42):
reverse that whatever was sent by the House to the
Senate is now coming back in a more extreme form.
And this points like almost by definition, to profound dysfunctions
in the system.
Speaker 4 (40:03):
And at this point let's take a break.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
This is politics by Jake and we will be back.

Speaker 2 (40:58):
This is Jake with Politics by Do you like what
you hear right now? Support the real talk, then go
to Patreon dot com, Forward Slash Politics by Jake. Right now,
every dollar helps fight the noise. Okay, this is politics
by Jake, and we are back. So I'm talking about
the dysfunction in the institutions. And this is because, as
(41:21):
I say, a fascist cabal has taken charge of them.
And never mind the methods they are using. We'll talk
about a little bit of that. But the Republicans are attempting.
I mean, we knew there were profound dysfunctions in the system.
There have been since the nineties. We knew that. So
here we are now the Republicans are attempting Maga, Mike Johnson,
(41:46):
is you know, ramming this through. It's basically a rubber
stamp parliament. It's not the United States Congress anymore. It's
a rubber stamp parliament. And there we go with the
reality of it. And now the news media, of course,
you know, and all their corruption. But even before the corruption,
(42:07):
there was this intellectual mediocrity, this lack of critical thinking,
this conformity, you know, and as you know, we might
have said back in the nineteen fifties, these are the
other directed, the Schlemiels, if you'll allow me to use
that word. These are the people who have to look
(42:29):
to the left and look to the right to find
out what they think. And therefore post hoc ergo Prupterok,
they don't really think. They respond to the shifting opinions
of peer groups. The nineteenth century American had an implanted
(42:53):
gyroscope of right and wrong. This was a tritated away
during the twentieth century, and now we're left with some
We're left with some pretty wretched specimens of people who
don't know right and wrong. Which is funny because a
lot of them they protest religion, but they don't know
(43:18):
right and wrong. They don't care what is right or wrong,
which is worse? They would say good and evil. But
what's the difference. I mean, that's the mega outlook. Now,
you know, the Democrats do somewhat better at this, but
of course they've been crippled by this identity group fragmentation
that you've heard me talk about that came about in
(43:41):
about nineteen seventy two with the advent of George McGovern
we had the New Deal system and it tridded away
into this sectarianism of the ultra left, these identity groups,
this fragmentation. So you have the African Americans, they're one
identity group. You have the Asians there or another. You
(44:02):
have the Latinos there another, you have all these different
identity groups and they can't get together. The New Deal
worked because it worked on the concept of mass traction
economic demands, in other words, things that help everybody. Whether
you're a Latino, whether you're Hispanic, whether you're Asian, it
(44:27):
doesn't matter. It's going to help you. And that's the
New Deal. But with the sectarianism of the ultra left,
it doesn't work, and it's left the Democrats in this
bad position. So we're gonna have to talk about that,
and I just did. But right now it's the austerity belt.
This is one of the most retrograde documents, as I've
(44:49):
been basically saying through the show. Maybe this is the
first time I war you order the show retrograde, but
it's retrogressive, it's reactionary, and I'm telling you it's a
step towards national suicide. It's a step towards national self destruction,
to be sure. And you know you have these certain
(45:10):
bell Weathers. Chip roy out of Texas is one of them.
He's an ideologue. He comes out of the office of
Ted Cruz. I think or somebody like this, and they're
looking at different bell Weathers and the holdouts, the ones
who are attempting to put up a reactionary exists. But
it's a game. It's a dog and pony show. They
don't mean it. It's this Damascus Road conversion nonsense that
(45:34):
I talked about in the last segment. They're invited to
the White House, or there's some of the the White
House because they're threatening the Trump magab the megabill. This
is all political theater, and you know who it's for.
It's for the rubes, it's for the suckers. It's for
the people who don't know what beltway fever is. My
(45:57):
ex wife told me about beltway fever. Bye, and in
the within the confines of the Washington d C Beltway,
which is the the interstate highway that encircles Washington, d C,
a fever grips people and they go nuts and that
that's basically what this. And they forget their constituents, they
(46:21):
forget everything, but their donors, like Alessandria A Cassio Corte said,
my donors, my donors, my donors, that's where it comes from.
It's beltway fever. My ex wife was a legislative aid
in in the House, and I think also in the
Senate at one time. Anyway, she's gone on to better things.
She lives in Michigan now with whoever it is she's
(46:44):
living with. And Michigan, of course famous for the home
industry of making pipe bombs. I guess it's like their
second most statewide product that they make money on. So
but anyway, we're not here to talk about that. It's
a catastrophic bill. It's one of the most infamous retrog
(47:05):
grade individual actions. And this is why I said at
the beginning of the show, this is why I did
the song, because we have to look for America now
because we're losing it. I'd like to compare it to
the dread Scott decision coming out of the Supreme Court
in eighteen fifty seven. And this is the one that
said black people can't be citizens ever, and they have
(47:28):
no rights ever, and they can't even really appear in
a courtroom ever. And what happened because of that, that
was the prelude to a very terrible civil war. But
it was reversed, and it was reversed through the agency
of the Union Army, which was surprise, surprise, And you've
(47:49):
got to imagine that the Southerners just just freaked out
about this because it was a multi racial armony. I mean,
it was biracial in some ways multiracial. There were two
hundred thousand and freedmen in it, in the Union Army,
and that's something worth holding onto. So we've been through
rough times before. This is an austerity bill. It applies
(48:11):
a kind of killer austerity which in many ways, and
i'll go through this again, violates the principles of the
Nurmberg Code. And you recall I talked about this in
the beginning of the show. If you take a population
you deliberately deprive them of food, clothing, shelter, and some
simulacrum of some modicum of medical care, you have run
(48:35):
a foul of the Nuremberg precedence in Nuremberg, Germany. And
as I said to you, not the ones that Hitler created,
but the ones that were done in October nineteen forty five,
which were in some cases considered extremely serious crime. And
now this is the issue and here at politics by Jake.
(48:55):
I want to make sure that you, my listeners, take
this very very seriously. The arguments that these maga iss
are putting forth. They have no merit. They're basically deliberate lies,
their distortion, their spin, they are gaslighting and what have you.
(49:17):
And it's intolerable. So we've got to think about the
damage that has been done. Let's just let's just evoke
some of that. Okay. The complete catalog is voluminous. Before
it passed on national this is good. Listen to this.
Before it passed on National Public Radio, you had a
(49:38):
program called one A. It comes from American University actually
in Washington, DC. In their ten o'clock hour, they did
a domestic politics hour about the damage done by this bill.
And again, some pretty horrible things show up. Take a
couple that are maybe less known. Take a look at this.
(49:59):
You can get that on the WAMU website. It's recorded.
The one guy was Arthur Delaney. Arthur Delaney's a veteran correspondent.
I think he works for Huffington Post. But this is
the serious guy who obviously read the bill, or most
of us. So the building trade at that time, you know,
it had not passed past now. So the building trades,
the unions, the construction guys, these are the hard hats. Okay,
(50:23):
remember them, always betrayed by the Republican Party, But now
they figured something out. The building trade unions have put
out a warning saying that this Republican bill, this big,
beautiful bill, or the what do we have the criminal?
We have other ones, bastardized, we have another nice acronyms,
(50:45):
but this bill, it's the only bill of any significance
the Congress is even considered all year. They're in paralysis, right,
They've essentially got rigor mortis going on. They don't do
anything now except this. So and I remember I'm talking
about before before the bill passed, So bear that in
mind when I say this. So the building trades say
(51:05):
this bill will bring the biggest job loss in recent history.
It's the biggest job killing bill ever. And they talk
in particular about the fact that there are forms they
would say, clean energy that are mandated now under the
Inflation Reduction Act by Biden, and that these subsidies for
things like wind farms, things like solar cells and all this,
(51:26):
that these things are now one of the few sources
of new jobs in the economy. Is everything slows down
under the impact of Trump tariffs, Trump mismanagement, Trump on predictability,
erratic behavior and all of that. So they said, don't
vote for it because it's bad. How about no tax
on tips? I talked about that, I said, I talked
(51:47):
a little bit more about that. This turns out to
be a cruel hoax. It's a bogus scam. The idea
is you get tips. Right, as I said, these are
lug paid workers. Anyway, they have an hourly way, but
it's very low, and they're going to supplement that with tips,
which then they have to report. The question here is
(52:07):
that going to help anybody. The first thing we see
is with a lot of provisions that are sort of
not that bad turn out to be the ones that
expire first. In other words, the tax cuts for fat cats,
the rich, parasites, the predators, all of those rests, those last,
Those are permanent. They last, in other words, once Trump
(52:28):
has theoretically, theoretically hopefully left the scene, those things will expire.
So he wants to have it fixed. You understand, the
bill seems to cost less now, although it may be
prolonged maybe you know, prorogued to use a word. But
now he just wants to get it through for the
benefits of the congressional election. Next year. A lot of
(52:50):
these provisions do take effect in twenty twenty seven after
the election, and then the rest of them come into
play in twenty twenty nine, so there's time. From our
point of it means there's time to repeal this and
with that avoid some of the devastating effects. So the
answer to this means you've got to have an attention
span that lasts into November twenty twenty six, and I
(53:14):
urge you to do it.
Speaker 4 (53:15):
So, I mean, let's close on this.
Speaker 2 (53:16):
We're not going to be able to get to all
of this. I'm sorry, guys. We'll try to get to
it on Friday. The tip workers, let's go back down this.
As I said at the beginning to show the problem
with this is the tip workers.
Speaker 5 (53:27):
There.
Speaker 2 (53:27):
It's a little even including the tips that they don't
pay income tax at all. Anyway, remember that the first
line on your ten to forty rages tips for a
lot of people. That doesn't reach the threshold of how
many of what kind of income you've got to have
in the different categories. You know, a single, married, filing, jointly,
(53:47):
head of household, all this stuff.
Speaker 5 (53:49):
So what is this.
Speaker 4 (53:50):
It's a fraud.
Speaker 2 (53:52):
It's a smoke screen. It's a camera tipped workers. And
how about this one, the one that promise that you
would cut taxes on Social Security. And there's supposed to
be a senior deduction, a supplemental deduction where you don't
have to itemize your deductions in order to do it.
In other words, you can take the standard deduction plus
(54:12):
the senior deduction. But it's not as much as it
would have been if they'd said no taxes on Social Security.
And even that is a cruel hoax because the idea
with that is that he wants to accelerate the collapse
of Social Security. And unfortunately, that's about all the time
that we have. And thanks for listening. I hope you
(54:34):
have a great week. Hope you've had a great Independence
Day weekend. God bless the United States of America. And
we'll see you on Friday morning at seven am. And
