Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Columbus Hastings and DMAC on demand. Listen to
PhD Live every weekday from noon to three on Altitude
Sports Radio ninety two five and on the Altitude Sports
Radio App.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Yeah, we're gonna look at the tape. We're gonna be
upset about the pre snap fouls, the holding, false start,
you know on a third and one. I think there's
gonna be a number of things that we're going to
look at that we have to clean up with. And
obviously it starts with me in our coaching staff. And
I felt the same way in the kicking game, you know,
I felt we lost that battle, and fortunately our defense,

(00:44):
you know, played well enough for us to get the win.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Yeah, let's not forget how lousy our special teams was too.
Aside from LUTs banging home at fifty seven yarder, it's
another week. Did he play this one? Accard? He played
Jet can't hear you?

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Oh? He played Jet Major.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Every song is a banger. It really was sounds pretty
good their of coursefield. Don't you think I was blown away?

Speaker 4 (01:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Very good, oppressive, very very bad weather. It was good
for you guys, you know, you know what it was.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
I guarantee you that the two Banana Rama what they
call Banana the baseball.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Team that came to the Savannah Baness.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
That concert Savannah Bananas, and all the Dodger home games
there was the busiest at place have been.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
You're probably right the busiest at places. You're probably right
by the way. Baseball playoffs are awesome. I remember I
was what a game? Well, the Dodgers are, the Blue
Jays are like, this guy's pitching, Well, let's get him
out of there. He doesn't pitch this that it is
so it blows me away in the in the playoffs
when analytics sort of gets in the way of just like, yeah,

(01:56):
but good clothes game.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Analytics of today wouldn't let Randy Johnson and uh what
was the other guy with the bloody sock, Kurt Chilling
and chilling you know, do what they did in that
semi game series.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Listen, these small market teams a small market salees not
that small, but you know what I'm saying, like they
get there somehow right like you know, you figure it
out one way or the other. It's been great. The
uh Barnards Tigers game was a classic fifteen innings just
just like what is going to happen here, walk off
the whole thing. So yeah, no baseball has been cool.
The uh the Avs are four minutes away from securing

(02:30):
a win over the Sabers. So unless something bizarre happens,
that is, uh, Wedgewood gonna pick up his third win
in four games and the only loss coming in a shootout,
which are dumb. And we'll get to the uh the
Avs here in a second. And somebody wants to hear
me how I used to the odd in Buffalo. There
are no basketball games back in the day in Buffalo.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
For you.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
You ever been to the odd in Buffalo?

Speaker 4 (02:54):
The old I have never been there.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
It was just like mc nichols, just you. All you
have to do is picture McNichols and of.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
The what would the basketball braves.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Was, Yeah, the braves. That might have been a little
bit before your time out.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
But I remember them. Yeah, yeah, yeah, because I end
up playing with Randy Smithy.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
All right, right, all right, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll get
to that story. Oh my gosh, it was way before
my time in Buffalo. But the odd is the classical.
I'll give you that story in a little bit.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
There's a lot of classic arenas in these coast.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Yeah, they all have some in Philadelia, all had someone
of the and this is before nine eleven, so old
stadiums before nine to eleven had certain security issues.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
Yeah, you just walk in.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
I'll give you the story coming up here in a
little bit. It's it's a great one. It's a rally
house Football Monday on Altitude Sports Radio ninety two five.
Rally house shop every team in town. Happy to get
your reaction three h three five four oh ninety two five.
You can text it or call us. It'd be great
to get some of your reaction, and we've done that
throughout the day.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
On the text line, I'm interested to hear what you
think about the play calling on the offensive side of things.
I mean, I don't know if it's just something seems wacky,
and I don't know if it's the coach or the player. Scott,
what do you think.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Uh, Well, I've been on it since like week one
or two. I'm not a big fan. And I know
the one time that you gave it up to your
your quarterbacks coach to call the plays was your most
productive productive offense of the preseason. But it was you know,
twos against twos and threes against threes. But I'm not

(04:27):
been a big fan of Champagne and everybody who calls
him a genius and that's all I hear. I just
to me genius would pop up more than one game
in a row. You know, I want some consistency and
I haven't. You know, they had a good fourth quarter,
because let's be honest, it was crapp through three quarters. Offensively,
absolute crap against Philadelphia. Banger, fourth quarter, banger, last minute

(04:51):
of the third into the fourth. But but when when's
the great? When? When what is this great play caller
gonna show up? Is it the the play calling is
antiquated and too slow and long winded, too overcomplicated, or
does he not have the right players to run what
he wants to do?

Speaker 3 (05:09):
I don't know, man, That game against the Jets was
so disappointing, and you sort of said, okay, well listen,
the game's stunk except for the fourth quarter. But that
fourth quarter was great. They're just gonna easily plow ahead.
And I'm like, all right, here we go, and the
Jets scored. Yeah, because you know you fumbled on the
third play of the game, all right, three nothing? Who
cares you came back down. You couldn't get a touchdown,

(05:29):
but you got the field goal, and you're like, oh
this here we go. And despite how bad the Broncos played,
they were still leading in halftime, and I was I
was convinced after watching the Jets got just wave a
white flag before halftime. I mean, seriously, man, you don't
just hunk the ball to Aaron Glenn's rationale was bizarre,
like he could still just throw the ball down the

(05:51):
field when experience right, Like, I mean, you feel that
weird that what you're gonna do that don't want take
a sack or a fumble. You're that intimidated by the
Broncos defense. You talk about sending a message to your
team that we don't believe in you. Holy cow, I've
never seen anything like it. Nobody's ever seen anything like it. Well,

(06:13):
Garrett Wilson hadn't seen anything like it. The Rich eisand
and Kurt Warner, Nobody's ever seen anything like it.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
Listen, everybody's a head coach the first time. And I
think the one thing that surprised you when you become
a head coach is how much more is involved than
you thought was possible. And Aaron Glenn right there. I
thought like the moment overwhelmed him and just got ahead
of it.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
I mean, then they go for it, and this is
topping off. Hey, you go for it, you get it,
everybody knew you were going to go for it, and
you don't do anything after that. It was I mean,
it was beyond bizarre. But hey, those are New York
Jets problems. The problems the Broncos have seemed to be
with their offense. So what happens next? But that being said,

(06:58):
if you can get some turnover Skytt and it's a miracle.
This Broncos defense, which is amazing, hasn't had more turnovers.
But if you get some turnovers, you give them some
short fields, you know, likely you're gonna be okay.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
Well, two weeks in a row, you've kind of predicted
they'd get to, you know, win the turnover battle, and
you're right. The anomaly of this great defense is that
they have no turnovers. They get no turnovers.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
No takeaways.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
Not really. I mean, and even with the team that's
got thirty sacks in six games doesn't have a sack fumble.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
By the way, what was hysterical too hysterical not funny,
but the Jets hadn't had any takeaways the whole year,
and there they are recovering a fumble on the third
play of the game.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
On a great third down pickup third and eight.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Right, So I mean bow only passed the ball twice
in the third quarter, so coming down hard on Bow
like that's probably a little unfair. We have a final
in Buffalo. We got a final in Buffaloe. The uh

(08:05):
Colorado Avalanche win three to one. Nathan McKinnon cale mcat
oh Nate had two goals, so he's on a little
bit of a hot streak. Uh So that line has
been unbelievable. The top line Lekin in nahus. Uh McKinnon's
been incredible. Kale assistant from val which was a beautiful assist.

(08:27):
So you get a w there for the Avalanche. There
he goes Scott. Everybody's hugging any there you go. I
love you, I love you too. There's Trent Minor and
we won't see him soon. Black One's going to be
back soon.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
So is the record? Now? Are they still doing the lots?

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Is a three to zero and one on one man.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
And this great or The fans are stupid with power plays.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
You want me to play that.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Yeah, then I want to read your stat line for you, Springer.
I want to listen to this stat I'll throw it out.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
There for so Saturday listen. It was frustrating Saturday. It
was frustrating Saturday because you outplayed the Stars and the
Stars are just freaking annoying, and you're losing a shootout
and shootouts are dumb. And they have Olison who were like,
we were just getting to know this dude, and it's like, wow,

(09:18):
he's first on the shootout and Betsy was like, well,
we just we kind of suck. Her team's great, but
we suck at shootouts.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Yeah, that's amazing.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
And then you know, you've got a power play goal
and they've had I don't they didn't get a power
play goal in this game, but they've had power play goals.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
And I'm gonna give you a stab. Let's me let
you play that.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
I'm gonna play it.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
If you want me to give you the stat before
you play.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
It's up to you.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Let me just give you before you hear Nate like
ripping on the fans for booming them.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Yeah, because I don't know what he said. Okay, but
but he's it's addressing the power plays, and and I'm
taking defending that the power play has been.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Okay, okay, well you're on Nate side. Do you want
to boo the whole.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
We just give you this. Okay, in four games right now,
you are three of nineteen on power plays.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Well that's not great.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Well I got what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
It's not great. So so you're saying the fans aren't crazy. Listen,
but but Nate's saying they are crazy.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
You win the Kings game, which is great, you're one
of six. Uh, you win the Utah game, you're won
of four, you tie, you know, you're losing a shootout
to Dallas. You're one and five, and then you beat
Buffalo today you're hing four. So the shootout or the power.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
You're saying the fans are right, fans are damn right, Nate,
look at your stats. Nate's all right, here's what Nate said.

Speaker 6 (10:37):
Oh I thought it was really good tonight, really good tonight,
a lot of great chances.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
I know we're getting booed. What a good power play?

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Looks like he let me play together. This is against Dallas.
This isn't This wasn't five.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
Let me play the whole thing where they're one and five.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Let me play the whole thing.

Speaker 6 (10:52):
Oh, I thought it was really good tonight, really good tonight.
A lot of great chances. I know we're getting booed.
I guess they don't really know what a good power
play looks like. We had a ton of chances and
just nothing was going in and we finally got one.
So I guess they got a boosmart.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Baby that helped you. Dude, you were one and five
in that game. Just what? Just what? Hey, Nate, if
you're two and five, you win the game in regulation?
Am I right? Dad? If you're two and five, you
win that game of regulation. Now, the key is the
power play hasn't hurt you. But you're one in five

(11:29):
and listen and it wouldn't be so bad.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
You're sticking the fans here, yes.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
Because that's what I am. I'm like, Andy, that's one too.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
But Nate's telling you the power play was great. They
had great chances. You don't know what you're looking at.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
You know what? You know what that is? That? That's
that that cool? He thinks he's cooler than he is,
turning out the MVP of the league but it's it's
the cooler than he really is for turning guys. Oh man,
you should have you know the chances I had down
at the bar tonight. Oh man, I had this one
blund of Delta, Delta, Delta, and then this Kyle I

(12:01):
was talking with her and then man, this this all right?

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Well, hold on a second. You don't think that, Papa.
You don't think the best player in the league has
an understanding of how good the power play is or
how bad it is.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
I'm thinking he's he's stuck in his his egotistical athletic mind,
which we all get into in the athletes. And you
don't realize you're now three and nineteen. That's not a
good percentage average. An average in the NHL, I think
is right at twenty percent, which you know this team.
Are we an average team?

Speaker 3 (12:33):
No, they're definitely gone average.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
Go and look at the great teams over the last
ten years. Are you gonna tell me there their average
with the NHL and power plays?

Speaker 3 (12:41):
Well, you know we did make it and they.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
Were bad in the postseason and power pla.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
You realize the one coaching change the AS made was
about the power play.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Oh I wonder why.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
All right, listen, the Avs one, No, they won't. What
are we complaining about here?

Speaker 4 (12:58):
The same thing with the Broncos. Would you'd rather not
be talking about having to fix some when you're winning
games as opposed to losing. They're three to zero and
one great start, great start. You said before the season
start you want you think the Abs need to get
off to a great.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
Start, and they're they're off to a great star.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
They're off to a great start. Off. That doesn't mean
and the point is you probably would have about twenty
goals already, you know, if you were better than three
and nineteen.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
So you're with the fans. Yeah, yeah, well Nate said
you should just do us more because.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Maybe it It was like, is that like ten percent?

Speaker 3 (13:36):
I don't, are you really? And you can do the math?
I mean it's we're all allowed to do the math.
Nineteen into three? What's nineteen into three?

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Den? I got it right here? Good?

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Clear, take our time? Well, you played music plays more problem.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
Fifteen percent if you're off sixteen.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Okay, so they're just slightly under what they need to be.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
No, no, no, they need to be about twenty five.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
Okay, they're gonna be. Boy, you want to talk about
some first world problems. If we're we're bitching about.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
The think last year regular season they were almost twenty
five percent.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
You realized last year at this time, we didn't have
a goalie could stop a puck.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
That's true. Now we got two. We don't even have
the starting goalie going, and the other guy hasn't lost
the game of regulation.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
Hey, like this is our back up.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
Listen, listen, I'm picking these guys when the Stanley guy.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
You know what the own problem is. I'll give you
what the stupid problem is. The Ads could win in
points President's Trophy. All that's I don't care about president Trophy.
I don't either, But you know what the freaking problem is.
The Dallas Stars Scott are the freaking problem. They are
a problem, and they're annoying. They won't go away even

(14:51):
when you beat the crap out of them what you
did Saturday. They are annoying because you.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
Know why, they think they can always beat.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
You, because they do. They have There is not a
lack of confidence. When the Dallas Stars play the Colorado Avalanche,
and it's annoying. It is annoying. It's annoying. It's like
Minnesota is annoying and like enough with Minnesota and the
Nuggets and enough you know what did happen today?

Speaker 4 (15:18):
Na Chushkin's first point on the year for mccarr's first
goal of the year. Hey, throwing out knowledge gud you

and athletes. Way to go, Brecon. Congratulations to you front
number three oh three, five O four oh ninety two five.
We'll do no dumb questions in about twenty or so minutes.
But yeah, good, good day to just call in and
and vent. And it's a weird one to want to

(16:35):
vent winning vent.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
It's winning, Yeah, winner's vent. Yeah. Just because you might
be the weakest four and two team in league, it
doesn't matter. You're FORIGN two.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
Oh my god, you're four too. Haven't even thought about that?
Are the theay the weakest four and two team in
the league. Wait, hold on a second, let's see what
we were going against here. The Bills are four and one.
They play by the way, we got a double header again, right, Yeah,
it's one of those weird ones. We have the Bill's

(17:07):
game with Bills and the Falcons at five point fifteen.
That's gonna be on a nine fifty. And then we've got,
uh what we got later tonight there Dano Commanders and
the somebody bears Commander's Bears, that Falcons Commanders Bears, Yeah,
Westwood one. We've got to hear after six o'clock.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
Not as many four and two teams a right.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
So are they better than the Patriots?

Speaker 4 (17:33):
That's that's the good one to ask about. I think
they are freaking Drake May look good.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
Hey, hey, Drake May. Steelers had a bye week, a
really early bye week, but they're rolling. Do you think
they're better than the Steelers who are four and one?

Speaker 4 (17:49):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
I'd say yes.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
Oh you see, you see what your old old man
river quarterback has done averaging eight Yeah, I get eight
point two yards a pass and two point He's the second
quickest out of his hands in the league right now.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
The weasel turt is annoying that he doesn't have to
be that way he and he is because he's not
moving around all that quick. But it doesn't He's always
been a quick decision maker. And listen, man, if you
want to bust on Justin Fields. The dude can't make
his mind up about.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
Any that's his biggest issue. Holds the ball way too long,
and defenses or something.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
He's he's he's never really played on a team with
a good defense. When he did last year he was
successful with the Steelers and then they put in Russell
and whatever, but he never had a good defen He
doesn't have. He doesn't have a great defense. Now, they
averaged thirty one points a game. But they just stopped
the Broncos yesterday. They weren't good in Chicago. But but
he causes a lot of his own problems to he does.

(18:40):
The Bengal are not the Bengals, you know.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
Who you're probably better? How about how about right now?
The Eagles. I'd say you're better than.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
All right, you're better than Jacksonville. They're fourn too.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
Oh gosh, I don't know. I thought they were a
pretend four and two, And every time I've seen him
they look pretty good.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
I think they're mediocre best.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
Okay, that's good.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
Chargers. You think you're better than the Charger?

Speaker 4 (19:00):
Not yet?

Speaker 3 (19:03):
Charges hung on yesterday? Man like it was not looking
good for him.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
Yeah, but I thought they were winning pretty easily for
a while.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
They were, but they were losing at the end, and
then they came back and won. Eagles. I do think
you're better than the Eagles.

Speaker 4 (19:15):
Have about forty nine ers, which Dallas and you lose
your best linebacker.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
I think you're definitely better than the forty nine ers.
The fact that forty nine ers are still winning games, though,
is a miracle. Well, but you are better than them?

Speaker 4 (19:28):
They lost last week?

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Did they Seahawks? Are you better than the Seahawks? How
about that Sam Darnold hanging in there? And then the
Rams at four and two? Wow? What a division the
NFC West is. Then you've got the Lions. What are
the Lions right now?

Speaker 4 (19:43):
I don't know that's a good question because.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
They didn't put up much of a fight last night.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
Knas City looks scary, let me ask you, Okay, so
now go it's scary.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
They're just they're annoying. They're they're like the stars. They're
not that great, but they're annoying.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
So let's go to the five hundred teams. There's only
two of them. Can't see in the Panthers, which is
a surprise.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Panthers are doing all right, but they pulled off a
huge win against Dallas. Are you better well? I mean,
the real question is are you better than Kansas City?
I guess because you know that's where it's gonna all
frigging boil down to. It's probably going to be on Christmas.
The battle for the AFC West is probably going to

(20:21):
be on Christmas night. I don't know. I think the
Chargers will just kind of implode, because that's what Chargers do.
They're kind of banged up to It's gonna come down.
You know what's going to come down to, stupid Kansas City. Listen.
You can make the argument too, by the way, the
Broncos should be They're four and two. You can make

(20:44):
the argument that could be undefeated right now. I mean,
what did it take to beat the Broncos?

Speaker 4 (20:49):
Or you could have lost that game yesterday you could
be five and one anyway.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
Dude, that would have been such a freaking disaster, right
did when when the Jets got the ball back, did
you have a feeling they the Broncos are going to
win or lose?

Speaker 4 (21:02):
I didn't think the Jets can move the ball and
the answer to do it.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
Okay, I didn't think they were going to win either.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
I was listening to a VIC this morning. He was like, oh,
I felt I had the opposite feeling, like when when
the Broncos were playing the Colts. I was like, well,
we're done, like this is we're Chargers. Yeah, I was
like this we're toast. But last yesterday was different. I
was like that this cannot be happening. Although DJ Jones

(21:31):
talked about it like defense is like like we couldn't
make a mistake. Like if you make one mistake, one mistake,
you let up a big run you love it, like
a twenty yard run or something.

Speaker 4 (21:41):
You lose.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
Yeah, one, So the Jets could be so you make
one mistake.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
Defense knew that they had to be perfect because the
offense was so bad. The biggest question is coming out
of this is what what what? What's what the offense?

Speaker 3 (21:58):
It's the biggest question. Tommy, Hey, you're on Altitude Sports
Radio ninety two five. What's up, Tommy?

Speaker 5 (22:05):
Hey, guys.

Speaker 6 (22:07):
My big thing is I really think the sky is
a limit for this team. If the offense can learn
how to play four full quarters.

Speaker 5 (22:13):
This defense is so good that really anything's possible.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
But I don't know.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
Well, you got Will Lutz banging home fifty seven yard
field goals. I mean, all you have to do is
get your team in field goal position and you're gonna
be fine.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
Yeah, it's a little embarrassing at this point.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
Honestly, Thank you, brother, appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (22:33):
Let me ask you this, if what Tommy just said
is the defense is so good, if the offense can
play four quarters, blah blah blah. Yeah, then you're gonna
you know, I think you'd get average twenty eight twenty points.
That being said, because the defense is so good, and
I think I think that Champaytnon even said, well, we
knew this defense is what it was, Okay, good, but

(22:54):
as it now all a sudden make you as an
offensive play card a little more conservative because you know
your defense so good? And does that not put a
serious aren't you gonna have to win a game offensively
sometime during the season?

Speaker 3 (23:05):
Well they did on third and ten, hand the ball
to Adam Prentiss like they handed the ball to the
full back. Oh, I guess we really don't care about
this series. I think some of the play calling really
And your kicker cross Shaws doing fine. He wasn't like
great yesterday, but I mean he had a lot of work.

(23:25):
You had plenty of practice.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
Hey, did we find that out? Who's leading the league
in most punts? They've got to be top two.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
I gotta be up there. You gotta be up there,
and you know what play Everything seemed to turn for
the Broncos offense kind of in the negative way. And
this just drives me nuts. When a quarterback doesn't understand
you need to cross the first down mark before you

(23:54):
start your slide. They're gonna they're always gonna mark you
back from where you start your slide. And it it
drives me bananas to see, like, oh, we're a few
inches short of the first down, and that happened with
bo yesterday. And then Pat Bryant jumps off sides even
though they're just gonna run it right up the middle.
He's not involved with the play at all. Oh, and

(24:16):
now we're it's third and sixteen. Now we got a hold,
So we go from inches inches for just another first down,
and let's go. Let's see what we got till like
third and sixteen and the drive's done.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
And you compare us some to Tampa, who's got a
third and seventeen, and Baker Mayfield goes pops boo boo,
puts his shoulder through one guy, keeps going and then
dives for the first down and gets eighteen.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
Well, bow Nicks did truck a guy yesterday. He did
do that, put his head down and truck the dude,
big guy against small guy.

Speaker 4 (24:50):
Here we go punting.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
Carshaw is tied for third in the number of punts
they've had.

Speaker 6 (24:59):
O.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
It's not good. Good for him though, good for him?

Speaker 4 (25:03):
How's he doing?

Speaker 3 (25:04):
He's doing all right, isn't he?

Speaker 4 (25:05):
But he leads the NFL with punts inside the twenty.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
Well, that's that's the most important stat, the average distance
and net. That's that's all relative. What you want is
you want to be pitting your opponent back more than anything.
He's doing fine, he's how about this? I don't think
there's any doubt right now? Jadde Baron had eleven snaps.
Really like Crosshaw is your best player from that you

(25:32):
drafted who we were killing in training camp. He is
your best draft pick. How did uh not? Cam Skataboo do.

Speaker 4 (25:43):
RJ?

Speaker 3 (25:43):
Harvey two carries for four yards?

Speaker 4 (25:45):
Scott, So that's two games a row with two carries.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
Yeah, that's our not Cam Skataboo. Pat Bryant, do you
got a big catch early? How's Ebuka doing these days?
He's doing great? Uh, our guy? Pat Bryant?

Speaker 4 (26:02):
Ebuca had what eight catches last yesterday?

Speaker 3 (26:05):
He's been He's a superstar already as a rookie. Brian
two catches for twenty two yards? I mean all right,
I mean okay, and one of them was early on
Big First we picked up that flag, which was dumb.
It's a lot of dumb stuff going on with the
Broncos right now. Fortunately they they played a dumber team

(26:25):
than them yesterday, so you know, it's a push. It
worked out.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
How about this, They're they're tied for third in the
number of punts. Let me let me read you one two,
tied with you at three, and then the couple afterwards.
Cleveland's number one in the most punts with thirty two.
You've got thirty. Cleveland's one and five. Cincinnati is number

(26:53):
two with punts thirty one. They're two and four, and
that's when in the first two games before their quarterback
got hurt. Your time with Philadelphia, who's in a two
game losing streak with thirty punts, and then Tennessee's right
behind you, who just fired their coach with twenty nine punts.

(27:14):
That's who's surrounding you.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
Yeah, because they're bad teams that can't move the ball. Yeah,
but look at those teams defenses compared to the Broncos' unbelievable.
And that's the difference. If I were to be the
best at anything in terms of a statistical category. Defensively,
it would be pressure. And my guess is, and I'm
just spitballing here, but pressure on the quarterback. I'm gonna

(27:39):
guess the Broncos. If they're not number one, they're number
two or number three. They are unbelievable in bringing pressure
and it makes everybody better.

Speaker 4 (27:46):
Your best would you say right now is best team
in the league?

Speaker 3 (27:51):
Feels like bah Man, I want to say the Bills,
but they can you give me a second on that.
That's that's a good question.

Speaker 4 (28:01):
We'll go back to the punts because almost.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
Is it the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I'll say it's the
Bills or the Bucks right now? Is the best team?

Speaker 4 (28:09):
Bills and Bucks? So let's see where the Bills and
Bucks are? Bills or thirty fourth? You have thirty four?
Let's say that's remarkable. Oh what of their putters? Only
putted twice for Buffalo?

Speaker 3 (28:26):
I don't know if they've had two p Well, Indy's
five and one they hold on.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
The other guy has seven. So Buffalo has nine punts
on the year.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
How many does Indy have?

Speaker 4 (28:35):
Indy has ten?

Speaker 3 (28:36):
How many do the Bucks have?

Speaker 4 (28:39):
They?

Speaker 3 (28:39):
I mean, any high scoring team is going to have
a few amount of puns is twenty one? You have
thirty alright, so that by this metric in terms of possessions,
it's Indy and the Bills. Is there anybody who has
fewer puns than those guys, they're in single digits.

Speaker 4 (28:56):
Yeah, Bills have two guys that are punted for nine total.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
Bills up nine punts. The Broncos had I want to say,
seven puns yesterday six, they had six. The terrible New
York Jets had seven.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
Well, in the Philadelphia game they punted six out of
seven possessions at one time.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Yeah, I think they had over, yeah, something like seven
punts last week. So Crosshaw's getting plenty of work.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
Yeah, he's had more punts in two weeks and you
had points in last.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
Week, right, So you're we're barreling down a weird question.
At four and two tied for first place in the
AFC West? Is this not a is this not really
a four and two team? And then it's like, well,
how much credit do you get for the defense? It
isn't defense just as important as the offense?

Speaker 4 (29:41):
No, it's not, no, because guess what zero zero still tie?
You don't win that game either.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
Boy, good defense keeps you in a lot of good games.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
Game keeps you in games, but it's still who has
more points?

Speaker 3 (29:55):
By the way, the Broncos. All right again, you know
the Broncos losing all these close one score games last year?
You remember that, right, they were dropping all of them,
and in twenty fifteen, their Super Bowl year, they won
eleven games by seven or less points. So Sean did
say after the game, maybe this is, you know, hey,
an indicator of things going in the right direction, turning

(30:16):
the tide. That we are winning these close one score games.

Speaker 4 (30:20):
But they beat a team, the Jets. How many wins
the Jets have? Zero? Yeah, zero, and you come on
to beat the Jets.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
One of their other wins was against the team the Titans,
who just fired their coach today, who suck? So two
of your four wins are against teams that are horrible.
You're winning against the Eagles. All of a sudden, we
thought that was like the greatest thing ever. I don't
know what's gonna happen in Philadelphia. We may turn around
and that that might be circling the drain there in Philly.

(30:50):
Right now, who's your other win against? Where am I
getting lost?

Speaker 6 (30:54):
Here?

Speaker 3 (30:54):
You have one more win.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
Who else we got Cincinnati?

Speaker 3 (30:58):
They suck.

Speaker 4 (30:58):
They suck. They've lost four row.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
So so here's what you have this weekend, Scottie. Here's
what you have. Forget about the overall record two and
four for the Giants, forget about that. What they really
are They won two out of three and in their
loss they had five turnovers. They were just sloppy with
the ball. They are spirit wise, the hottest team in

(31:23):
the league, energy wise, coolness wise, they're Delta House. They're
they're you know they are they are. They are the
cool Delta House. So Skataboo is no doubt about it.
He is zero point zero. I've never seen somebody. And
then in darts like the president. Yeah, he straights the

(31:45):
cool guy.

Speaker 4 (31:46):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
Hello ladies, damn glad to beat you. Well some Rush
Russ Rush Frush chairman. Damn, damn damn. He's that guy.
Is he Stratton? That's the name.

Speaker 4 (32:02):
Yeah, I think his last name was Stratton, Right, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
He's that guy. Yeah, he's the President of the House.
And Blutarski is is Skataboo zero point zero. That's Delta
House right there. Run double secret probration right now. But
Everybody loves Delta House.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
Everybody loves the party at Delta House. It's not like
we didn't take advantage of a few of our female guests.
We did.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
If we dance with your date, not at all.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
Let's go.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
Congratulations to Heritage High School's Mo Theenyl. He is Fanel.
That's probably it, Banel. He is our athlete of the Week,
presented by Bacchiston Shanker. Bacchison Shanker loves Mo's passion and
their passion is justice. We'll have no Dumb Questions coming
up next here on PhD.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
Columbus Hastings and dmac Percentum, No dumb questions. This is
your safe space, safe place.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
I'm leaning into the segments. You're a smart guy.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
Send us your not dumb question now, tweet it, text
it for twitch it. It's no dumb questions. On Altitude
Sports Radio ninety five.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
Well, this is unusual, but we can start no dumb
Question with Greg and perhaps he has a question. We'll
see how dumb it is. Go ahead, Greg, you're on PhD.

Speaker 5 (33:27):
Any guys, hey love the show. I just want to
make a comment about the Broncos. I mean to me,
Bo Nicks is rushing things and either that's because the
offensive line was horrible yesterday or the wide receivers are not.

(33:48):
But to me, he's got happy feet. Man, he's trying
to get the ball out of his hands as quickly
as possible. What do you dos I.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
It's a good question, that's not a dumb question. We
love you too, by the way, Greg, thank you for listen.
I don't know, man, maybe we should get like, you know,
it's really good this guy Tim Jenkins who does all
sorts of breakdowns and like a quarterback guy, you know,
we get our guy brock Hewart or something on Scotty,
you know, some sort of quarterback dude to sort of
break it down like what he's seeing out there. Hard

(34:18):
to know.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
Well, we talked about it. I called it nonchalant in
training camp. It felt like it just it was just
a different field than I remember Bowl last year. Tyler
has said a number of times, especially during the season,
that his feet gets impatient or I can't remember the
words that you describe it. But as his college just

(34:39):
had happy feet impatient a little bit. He didn't set
We've seen a couple of long throws. In fact, Trent
Green or one of the announcers and analysts games ago.
He steps out of the pocket, but then just jumps
and throws it. No, throws receiver, and he goes he's
got time to set yeah, and happy feet or whatever
you want to do it. We've had to talk about

(35:01):
a number of time. He talks to tons of people,
and he said on his throws that he's missing deep
he's not setting himself up, so happy feed or whatever
you want to call You're not the only one to
notice it. And and to me, sis, I still question,
now the defense is this good? Which I think A
he's got to kill Champagne and somewhere in the reaches

(35:22):
of his narcissistic little heart, in the cockles of his
narcissistic h deep down, deep down, yep, he he's got
to be dying that the defense is basically the care
of this team right now. But I almost also wonder
in a game like are are they now getting conservative
because they know the defense to keep me in the game.

Speaker 3 (35:43):
There's a movie with Demi Moore. It's a horror movie
about body perception called The Substance.

Speaker 4 (35:50):
Oh my god, what a freaky movie.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
Did you you saw it?

Speaker 4 (35:53):
Yeah? Well, somebody on one of the Trips had it.

Speaker 3 (35:55):
Yeah, might be the freakiest, freakiest movie freakiest means.

Speaker 4 (36:02):
For a while, and then all of a sudden, it's.

Speaker 3 (36:03):
Like, well, if I told you you're gonna see Margaret
Qually and Demi Moore naked for most of the film,
you'd think, hmm interesting, mm hmmm, num.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
Hmm, because they're naked at the last thing to a.

Speaker 3 (36:16):
Naked monsteros is uh. Listen, the premise of the movie,
without giving it away, is if you could take a drug,
if you're getting older and out came your better self,
would you be jealous of your better self? And would
you be angry at your older self? Or could you

(36:37):
peacefully live together? And I won't give anything other than
the fact that that's the movie, Like, you can split
yourself theoretically in this movie into a younger, better version
of you, But the premise is you have to share it.
You know, you have to spend as much time with
the older version as with the better, younger version. John

(37:00):
Peyton is on the substance right now. This is the substance.
I mean, I'm sorry if this reference is kind of
weird for you, go look up the movie. But that
is what's happening right now. The better version of the
Denver Broncos by a mile is the defense. So how
can you stay connected and still work is one when

(37:21):
you're really two different teams?

Speaker 4 (37:22):
Right now, that's a good point. See what I was thinking.
His younger self is the older self was really good
with the Saints, and his new self is stinking, and
so there's a turmoil there too.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
But he's in charge, like he has to deal with both.
He has to be as equally proud as the better
part as he is frustrated with the older part. My
wife and I ran a baseball organization who had seventeen
teams over four years. It was good and bad it
so we would come away every weekend. We would have
teams in our organization win tournaments, win tournaments. There forget this,

(38:00):
we're in a steamboat tournament. We had two teams, the
thirteen you team and the twelve you team won the tournament.
Our other thirteen you team and our other twelve UO
team came in last place. So so think about that
for a second, same same organization, same thing, winners, winning
whole thing, day parents losing last place like absolutely horrible,

(38:25):
you know, and we're dealing with it, like how do
we and you know what you walk away at the
end of the day is just you're you're completely unsatisfied.

Speaker 4 (38:33):
You walk away and go that's baseball, don't kidding.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
And that's what the Broncos are right now, isn't it.

Speaker 4 (38:40):
They're not a Their defense is winning.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
So who the hell is this team right now? Like,
I get it, you're four and two, but three of
your wins have come against.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
Again, then it adds against my no dumb question. Well,
that's what they did all last year too, they'd beat
bad teams and they're doing it again this year.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
Like if you could have who would have said at
the beginning of year, a better win would have been
against the Colts than the Eagles? Crazy? Right, a better
win would have been against the Chargers than the Eagles.
Can I say this Eagles win is not going to
look that great at the end of the year.

Speaker 4 (39:15):
Yeah, but I think the Eagles have turned around. I
think I don't know that. Being said, we'll see. I'm
are you afraid of of the Colts and Chargers?

Speaker 3 (39:24):
Yes? As as what in the playoffs? Yeah, yes, both
teams them super I'd be afraid of both of them.
They're they're they both are are very dangerous teams. Well,
Harbaugh's tricky because they've had a lot of injuries, but
probably yeah, probably better balance, better overall teams, but not

(39:48):
a better defense. The Broncos defense is better than the
Indie defense and the Chargers defense. I haven't seen a
defense as good as the Broncos defense in the league.
The problem, in my opinion, give me a better defen
the Broncos right now.

Speaker 4 (40:02):
Well, the statistics are off the crazy chain. This last
game is probably pushing you up. You gotta be top
two or three in pass. I mean they were minus
ten yards, dude, So I mean you've got to be
You've got to be top one, two or three in that.
I would think.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
If the Broncos aren't statistically the number one defense in
the league, by your own eyesight and what you're seeing,
you know they are.

Speaker 4 (40:27):
I will say this, You're gonna spend as much time
defensive on a game plan for that front and the
corners and everything combined and anything else.

Speaker 3 (40:35):
You're trending to smash the overall sack record by thirteen
overall sacks like the record seventy two, and you're trending
on eighty five and we're six games into the season.
That's pretty good, all right, No dumb question. Is Cam's
Gottabu the new Gronk, the personification of a knuckle dragging meathead. Yes, yes, he's.

(40:56):
He's blewedop, but in a very nice way.

Speaker 4 (41:00):
He's not.

Speaker 3 (41:00):
He's not a bully. You know, you know what he's not.
He's not the Revenge of the Nerds bully. He was
just bullying all the nerds.

Speaker 4 (41:08):
No, he is.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
He's Bluto from Animal House. Yeah, Lutarski John John, Uh,
what the hell?

Speaker 4 (41:16):
John John?

Speaker 3 (41:17):
Oh my god, Lushi Lushi, Thank you gosh. He's like
a nice meathead. He's like a good meathead'. He's not
a bully, He's not a jerk. He's an adorable meathead.
He should be a Denver Bronco.

Speaker 4 (41:34):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (41:35):
Yes, that stings. That That just is like, that's like
the I told you so trained, like coming around the
corner and just being like smash it into a wall
like we're gonna see it. That would have been a
great draft pick. This RJ. Harvey thing, I I don't
know when it gets better. I seriously don't. JK. Dobbins
is definitely a better option. How are you gonna get RJ.

(41:56):
Harvey even going. You're playing a Jets team that was
giving a big runs to Javonte Williams. You couldn't get
that going.

Speaker 4 (42:02):
And I agree with Tyler that he goes well. I
still think he's going to eventually be But if you're
trying to win right now, you don't need eventually. Hell no,
you need right now. And by the way, and I
think that Scataboo with this running game would change this
running game in a heartbeat.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
Yeah, because at the end of the day, you need
a running back. It's three. Oh no, it's five, it's five.
Oh no, it's nine. You don't need a running back
like hey.

Speaker 4 (42:27):
Minus one, minus one, Oh there's nine.

Speaker 3 (42:30):
Yes, or maybe twice a year it's fifty maybe, but
you know what, there's a lot of minus ones in there.
So you got the fifty yard run from RJ. Harvey,
You already got it. So how many more are you
going to get? And it looks like Ashton Gens is
going to be a little bit better there for the Raiders,
I think, but they're just giving them the ball repeatedly.

(42:52):
But that's not who RJ.

Speaker 4 (42:54):
Harvey is.

Speaker 3 (42:54):
We're not even giving him the ball. We're not even playing.
Johnny Barron eleven snaps Pat Bryant's staling science. Dude, it's
not even coming to you. I could get worked up here.

Speaker 4 (43:05):
Although I will say this that that first catch of
Pat Bryant's I don't know if you got to see
his move, his got open. Fantastic Let me captain Sunshine here, mister,
fantastic move. Okay. I was going to come in and say,
I think this guy's got a chance, and he went
off sides.

Speaker 3 (43:22):
He's got a chance. Uh he Let's see two targets,
two catches though Courtland sun had one catch? How meny targets?

Speaker 4 (43:31):
Did he have three? Three? And one was at his
feet so he wouldn't get bow was pressure Mcgleinchiky got
blown up and bo had to just throw it down
at his feet.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
I mean, it was great to see Evan Ingram have
a good game and Marvin Mims have had a dynamic
play and the whole thing. But I mean, what are
we doing here? What seriously are we doing here? And
Matt Parrots you gotta kidding me.

Speaker 4 (44:01):
There's a reason he's number two, all right.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
Big question of the day comes up with what's going
to happen now, and that's next.
