Speaker 2 (00:17):
Welcome back, Tyler, back in the mix on this glorious day.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Well, I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
With the Giants staring right in front of us, we'll
get to that and the the the Nuggets and their
final preseason game. Had some fun with David Adaman last
night away to humiliate media people. It's that in just
a little bit too. We got Jared Bednar talking about
the powerplay. How about the uh that? That was a
fun moment. Today the Morning Show play Nate McKinnon's comments play. Yeah,

(00:49):
they played them for Jared Bednar. So that was kind
of cool. Baseball is I You know, it's just inevitable.
The Dodgers are gonna win this thing. Mariner is gonna
be like the Rockies and seven. It's gonna be unbelievable.
First time there. Town's excited and then they're just gonna
get smashed by the Dodgers. But you know that's that.
Looking at the Giants, though, man boy, they are they

(01:13):
are they are they are an interesting team, man, it is.
It is hard to figure out what this team really
is all about. But it is gonna be one hell
of a game for your reunion. I don't know if
things are getting going without any of that stuff. I
think there was some sort of event yesterday.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Yeah, there was a there was an event at the
Boys and Girls Club, which I was I was originally
played on going to, but went up to the mountains
for a couple of days. Didn't get back in time.
So but yeah, they did that. And then Friday night
we will do a dinner at Shanahan's, which will be great.
So that'll be for the Super Bowl fifty team. The
whole team there is Shanny's and Ringa Famers they'll be

(01:54):
there as well. And then Saturday we get to go
out there for the walk through and so I'm taking
my pops to the walk through practice in the morning,
all right, And then they've got a get together at
a I'm trying to break on what bar it's at
in the evening. But we got to get together Saturday night.

(02:15):
And then Sunday we got the game, so we'll do
the induction at halftime for DT. It'll be awesome. It'll
be really really good. I've heard that there's gonna be
like forty some guys from my team that will be there,
so really good turnout from the fellas. Wow, and breaking
my daughter bringing my youngest daughter to the game. So

(02:35):
I'm doing a little bit of a family affair to
different events.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
What where you guys at during the game. Is there
like an owner suite or some sort of players ex
players loungers?

Speaker 3 (02:44):
So I'm actually not even sure where we're gonna be.
I haven't looked into that, but got us. They got
hotel rooms for anybody that want them, and you know,
I was like, well, why.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Not taking a hotel room?

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Yeah, I want to hang out with the boys?

Speaker 4 (02:57):
Sell it?

Speaker 3 (02:57):
You know, it's all right? Oh yeah, that's a riot.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
I mean, you know, all the fellows are going to
be there, so I figured I might as well take
advantage of that and hang out with them as long
as I can.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Oh, that's pretty funny, you think I bet he will.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Oh it wouldn't be Yeah, I gotta imagine, right, Gosh,
especially with the DT thing. I mean, listen, the reunion
is the reunion. It's awesome, but the fact that it's
honoring Demrius is.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
I mean, you know that becomes a special.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
A right, I mean you know it's all good. I mean,
it's all incredible and you should have it no matter
what ten year anniversary. You know it deserves it.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
So who's a guy that you haven't seen much since
fifteen that you got to look forward to seeing If
you thought about that.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Well, it'd be a lot of them. I mean, you
know the offensive line. I was one of my best
buddies is Evan Mathis. So Evan's coming into down really
looking forward to that. We had him on the show
We did, We did. He was a riot. He's like
the Dosaki's most interesting man in the world.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
Yeahh he's good. Yeah, and he start did he start
some sort of company? He's doing something.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Yeah, he's done a lot. He's done a lot than is.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
He started like a it's called cards here for her
because he was always into the trading cards and everything.
So he was like it was like a big anglombination
of every site in America for for cards. You could
look for it all in one place. And yeah, so
he did that, and he's like he's got pink door cookies.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Yeah, all right, who's doing the most interesting thing like,
uh that you can think of off the top of
your head. From from from that well.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
You know, I mean there's guys that are in finance
that like you're just like you look at your teammates
and you're just like, you know what, I knew you
were smart, but now you're like managing other people's bunny's.
Like Bitty Fowler is one of those guys. He's in
the finance industry. I don't know, though, I mean, there's
a lot of guys. I have no clue.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
What's a lot of catching up? Yeah, a lot of
catching up? Well man, that is that is That is awesome.
It's gonna be and the weather's supposed to be spectacular.
By the way, right now we're going to Steve Jobs.
I don't trust, I mean I I do trust Chris Bianki,
I do. I mean he did kind of nail rain
rain the other day, not during the game game, but

(05:06):
you know, during.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
The day day.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
But it's supposed to be spectacular, so everything should be great.
And now the only thing we need to work out
is the game itself. And that brings us to your
New York Giants with Jackson Dart and I can't tell
right now if they're a reckless team or an awesome team.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
I don't think they're very good team. They are They've
got a spark plug right now at the quarterback position.
That's been really fun, right But Jackson Dart, I'm not
convinced he's a great quarterback. I think he's a fun quarterback.
The guys are having a blast rallying behind the troop.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
D Mack coined at the Delta House from Animal House,
they're the Delta House fraternity right now.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Yeah, I agree with that. Yeah, I'm not scared of
the Giants though. You know, obviously I missed last couple
of days. You guys recap the Jets game. I don't
need to go into too much detail of it, but
I'm kind of tossing that game out with the bathwater
and look it was. I expected it to be weird.
I expected the London game to just it was not

(06:10):
gonna be some dominating game.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
It was not.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Obviously, it was a bad performance. That'd be one of
those games. As a coach, I'd just be like ghost Film,
it's gone. It's gone. Let's let's move on to the
next game, which is the New York Giants. And the
more I look at the Giants. I see a team
that if you let them catch their energy, they can
be they can be dangerous. But I don't think that
they faced off against the defense like we got right now.

(06:32):
And I'd be shocked if camp Scatabu had sixty plus yards.
I'd be shocked if Jackson Dart had a day.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Okay, well with Jackson Dart, and I'll tell you what
you can throw out the window is any film with
Russell Wilson as their quarterback. They are just that team
is just different good but they carry over some weird numbers,
like they're terrible offensively in the red zone overall, but again,
you gotta throw out you know, the first you.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Go, look, are they in a three game or two
olt three?

Speaker 2 (07:03):
It's interesting. First of all, they beat the Chargers, which
was like, wow, that's your first game ever as a
starter for Jackson Dart and you beat the Chargers. Okay,
first Chargers, first loss. The next week they got the Saints,
and they got the Saints on the ropes a little bit.
But then in the second half they turned the ball
over five times and there were a couple of picks
in like three fumbles, including a scoop and score that
Skataboo dropped and the Saints ran in really being minus five.

(07:28):
They probably should have lost by a lot more than
twelve points, but I mean that's that was the difference
in that game, and they did have the lead in
that game. And then you have the game against the Eagles,
and man, oh man, if you want to see a
team that has energy, excitement, you're like a lot of
fun stuff going on. And then you look over the Eagles.
Holy cow, the Eagles looked like they were ready for
the retirement home. They just looked like old and plotting

(07:51):
and slow and Jalen Hurts running the ball compared to
Jackson Dart. I mean, it really is like an old
man over there doing that. So what's the real Giants team?
Who are they really? But don't forget they also give
up big plays left and right in all three games.
In all three games, they give up dynamic big plays
throughout the course.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
Of the game.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
So they're like a like a like a teenage well
it's like a fraternity house, that's exactly what it is. Yeah,
you know, there's a lot of potential there, there's a
lot of cool things, but that party might go sideways
that you got to call the cops at any moment.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
The key to the giants though, they live off energy.
So if you give them energy, all right, you might
be in for a battle. But if you suck that energy,
dry out the gates, don't let Cam and Jackson Dart
do their little touchdown celebrations, well, they're probably gonna be struggling.
But then again, I don't know, man, Our office just
got to be better. Both's got to be better. Offense

(08:45):
has got to be better. Else we're not gonna beat anybody.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
The good news is they're gonna give you chances. That's
the good news. With their defense, and they got Thibodeau's
a good player at Duel Cutter, their first draft pick
is good player. And Burns of course is right there
with Benito. Got one sack less than he has more
than half of their entire sacks for the year, Brian Burns.
So there's enough danger. And guess where Burns likes to
come off from over the left guard and what are

(09:09):
we doing there? So great and that's a new development.
We heard at the end of our show yesterday during.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
Nate Andy that perks on ther.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Parts in the ir However, we say his name and
you got Throckmoron that you signed, and he's just like,
all right, are we gonna be all right with the
left guard? But you know, one way or the other.
But then I'm watching the Giants today, I'm watching Brian
Burns just eat up the Eagles left guard. I'm like,
oh my god, that's not good. And I don't know
what they're gonna do there. Tyler got any ideas well?

Speaker 3 (09:43):
You know, I wonder if they had something unique that
was game plan for the Eagles, because he really shouldn't
be lined up over the guard very often that he
should be. He's a Wheels linebacker in a three four scheme, right,
so he should be an edge rusher. But they do
change it up in nickel packages. And we used to
do that all the time our guys, where we'd line
Vaughn up over the guard and play games and do
stuff like that. So, uh, that's a weakness and the

(10:05):
Broncos got to figure out. I mean, you know, Matt
part did not play very good football. But you look
at it and you're like, all right, well you got
hurting third play of the game. How much factory factored
into that? And now you're down to your third string
left guard.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
You know it's crazy too about the Giants. They are well,
they lost Mylak Neighbors, huge loss and does.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
That changed your thought on this game?

Speaker 2 (10:25):
If he was still playing, Uh, it would help them massively.
You know their best receiver last week was little Jordan Humphrey.
They got this little pixie dude, Glendale Robinson. I call
him Glendale. It's actually one Dale, but it's more fun
to call him Glendale. They got a bunch of nobody's

(10:45):
seriously or hanging on by a threaders their their their
talk is we got to get a receiver. We got
a trade immediately for some sort of receiver, which you
could make the argument that the Broncos may be thinking about
two who knows or or or guard. I don't know
how the market is for left guards on crappy teams
these days.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
You know, you don't see offensive linemen traded very often,
unlike other positions where you see a lot of trades.
Alignment don't get traded mid season, but they're ironically, I
think Adam Schefter said, both of the guards from the
Browns are going to be available for a trade right now.
So if you want to look at Joel Patonio. He's
going to be out there, Miles Teller, He's going to

(11:25):
be out there. So there are a couple options. But
when you make a trade for an offensive lineman, it's
complicated because now you've got to accept a salary. You're like, well,
are we committed to Ben Powers long term or not?
And then you've got two guys that you've got to
be committed to.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
I don't know if they're going to have a hard
time getting off of Matt Pert. I think that's going
to be easy. But yeah, Ben Powers is a whole
other conversation. Oh no, man, I think the Broncos probably
squeak one out here. You know, they have the top
defense they do. The numbers on defense are incredible.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Well, let me ask Tyler the same thing I asked
Nate when he came in here, and I think I
asked you during the show yes day, and everybody and
Will deserved praises defensively, blah blah blah, leading them pressers,
leading in sacks, leading in red zone. I mean, this
is a very very freaking good defense. I mean we
saw that when they're you know, Jets gotta could do
is pick up a first down, they can win the

(12:17):
game and they get sacked for twelve yards. Right, but
how many games left on this schedule the Broncos, you're
gonna win if you can only score thirteen points?

Speaker 3 (12:27):
Not many? I mean we so ironically the Giants might
be one of those games that you could.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Maybe, but there's not if you take away their excitement.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
Yeah, I mean, listen, Jackson Dart is he's not exactly
lighting the world on fire. I mean, of his three games,
he threw for one hundred and eleven yards through for
one to ninety five through for two h two. He's
just doing okay, he's been alright. This might be one,
but to your point, moving forward, there's not gonna be many.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Here's a Jackson have boys scored thirteen. Here's what Jackson
Dart has done though. He keeps plays alive, very dangerous,
puts himself, exposes himself to all sorts of issues. But
this is what you got in a young buck, right,
like you'll run around by the way. You know, he's
like a hot nerd. He's a good looking guy, but

(13:15):
he's a nerd.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
Do you know?

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Do you know the why he keeps a big smudge
mark like a eye black, like just one smudgecause.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
It looks cool, or he's got a body.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
He's a Star Wars guy, and it's in tribute to
Anakin Skywalker from the Sith movie whatever, the Revenge of
the Sith is that it seriously, I'm not joking. He
is so into Star Wars and specifically Anakin Skywalker that
he feels like that's his spirit. He's a hot nerd.

(13:54):
How many hot nerds do you actually know?

Speaker 4 (13:58):
Skywalker turned into Darth Vader?

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Yeah right, yeah, because Luke Skywalker. Yeah, Anakin Skywalker turns
into Darth Vader. Yeah yeah, I'm a badass. I suppose
if you want to turn into a sense, yeah, Anakin
Skywalker turns into Darth Vader. But young Anakin is, you know,
just kind of cool. He doesn't he's not walking around

(14:21):
with a face mask, you know, deep breathing sleeven with princesses.
I don't know what he was doing in his younger days.
I mean, like again, he was pretty.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
Just go for the highlight, dude.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
The Revenge of the Stiff it passes me by, Like
I'm good with like the Empire Strikes and the e
Walk movie. But if you want to give I cannot
tell you storylines from the other six movies.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Up the middle three?

Speaker 2 (14:45):
First, Tyler, can you? I mean no, yeah, I can't either.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
Dan.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Are you good with the storylines of the other Star
Wars movies?

Speaker 3 (14:54):
So so, I guess are you?

Speaker 4 (14:58):
Yeah? Me and Jackson?

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Jackson, are you calling yourself a hot nerd?

Speaker 3 (15:05):
I know Anakin is obsessed with Natalie Portman. That's that's
the main storyline.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
Who wasn't in the day. I mean, she did go
to Princeton and get it, you know, stop acting for
a while, go to Princeton, get her degree at Princeton.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Do you think that was turning on Anakin?

Speaker 4 (15:19):
I mean, just you know, if she ain't no dummy?

Speaker 2 (15:21):
Wait, what was her name in the movies?

Speaker 4 (15:24):
Oh, Queen.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Queen Amidala something like that. Yeah, that sounds right, Queen Capozzo,
Leia Laya lay that was Wait, that's Leya's mom.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
Yeah, that's ley and Luke's mom.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
Queen. I'm adalaa and and and Anakin's the father.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
You know, they were making love. They weren't supposed to
because he was a Jedi and Jedis are supposed to
stay away from women.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Really like yeah, like a priest.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
Yeah, yeah, a little bit, okay, but he went to
the dark side. They ended up having an affair before
the dark side. She was before he actually went to
full on Darth Vader.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
See, and that's a storyline. I had no freaking clue
about whatsoever, really none zero yeah, no, I'm out of it.
I'm out of that loop. I know he shot down
the Death Star, and I know the first movie was
the fourth movie, but and then there were e walks
somewhere along the line. Those are my people.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
Sixth movie.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
That was the sixth movie, which was really the third.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
Movie, Big Jar Dark the second movie, which the fourth movie,
but was the first movie, correct, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Okay, Well, that's why he wears that.

Speaker 4 (16:47):
And you find out that you find out that anarchist
Skywalker is Luke's dad in the second movie, which is
seriously spoiler right there, Really, anniversary, what do you do?
What do you do too?

Speaker 3 (17:01):
Soon? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (17:04):
All right, we'll dig deeper into all that. We'll dig
into more hot nerd talk and other stuff. Meanwhile, Scottaboo
is clearly just Blue Tarski from Animal how zero point
we should just call him zero point zero? Yeah, zero
point zero. That there's no confusion about it. That's just
who he is.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
But we still say it would have been a nicer
draft pick here.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
I think so. But we can dig into it, we
can talk about obtaining a left guard and everything going on.
I do have. There's a pretty funny moment from the
Nuggets game last night, though, that you could be central
to and you don't even know. U. Okay, that's next.

Speaker 6 (17:38):
I find your lack of faith disturbing.

Speaker 7 (17:43):
That stops the Denver Nuggets three nothing run and here
comes Aaron Gordon. Gordon has it between the rings, throws
it off over to Yokic. Yokis Ali, you don't right handed?
Aaron Gordon now excluded by twenty one.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
Fun game last night. For preseason, we had a bunch
of listeners. We did these keyword contests, and these were
like uber listeners, like they I mean, I guarantee you
they're listening right now. They focused their lives kind of
like on listening to the radio stage. It was, it was,

(18:20):
it was really cool, and uh, they were so thrilled
to be there at the game and hanging out and
all that sort of stuff, and so I I I
actually had to kind of go back and watch the
game a little bit because it was kind of chit
chatting me and mister social. But afterwards, like, all right,
game's over. I'm not bothering the locker room anything.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
You know.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
Did you go down to David anything?

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Yes, went down for day. I hope we get this
coach a show going with David.

Speaker 4 (18:45):
I do too, okay, because I think he's really good.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
I think, yeah, yeah, he's really good. We'll get to
some of the funness in a little bit. But first,
what's the most noticeable thing you guys see about the
Nuggets right off the bat? Just like it's obvious ball
look good early, Jamal, it is it's ten for ten
at the line, the preseason game taken to the hoop.
How about that?

Speaker 4 (19:08):
Yeah? How about how many free throws you're shooting in
a preseason game?

Speaker 3 (19:11):
The officials?

Speaker 4 (19:12):
Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
By the way, NBA new rules for preseason fourth quarter
running clock and no reviews at all in the entire game.
You don't get reviews and challenges. Forget that. It's just
the call is the call, and let's us go live
with it. And yes, running clock in the fourth and
we're just going to play the fifteenth and sixteenth guys
on the team, which both teams.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
Did because they went with the fifteen to sixteen guy
never went from up like twenty one to win him
by seventh.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Yeah, I know, so we don't need that. We just
need to get home at that point. If you want
to take the game serious, which they did basically for
three quarters, then you know, cool, Fine, I'm good with that. Afterwards,
here's Adaman on how fit they are.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
Yeah, because it's better.

Speaker 6 (19:56):
You know, I'm not Steve Short and those guys. So
I don't know what the level is, but it seems better.
And I think sometimes too, the attentiveness of what they're
trying to accomplish and not just getting through the preseason
helps that. And they've been really focused throughout. Uh So, Yeah,
Jamal stands out to me just because he made it
a goal and he put the work in. It shows

(20:18):
the way he's playing. And then Yolk is incredible. Man,
I don't I don't know, I don't know. Everyone says
what they say. He's always in shape, the way he
runs the floor and plays, and so yeah, I'm proud
of all the guys they've they came back ready.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
The biggest thing he was asking the challenge he put
out the end of the end of last year was
was this right here?

Speaker 4 (20:38):
Am I wrong? Yeah? He said, adding his uh pressure
when they gave him the job officially. So that challenge
the guys be in shape when we start.

Speaker 5 (20:45):
Well.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
I think for Jabal there's a huge difference this offseason.
I don't know, maybe it's just pure motivation, but you know,
playing for Canada, you just don't have the same time
to reshape your body with I do think you got
to play basketball to be a basketball shape, so I'm
not taking that away from it, but when you're playing
so much basketball, you just don't have the time to
reshape your body in the weight room like you can

(21:07):
when you've got actual downtime.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
It'd be funny Taskley ask Jamal, hey man, you're in
such better shape than last year. I bet he would
deny it. I bet he would say, what are you
talking about? But that's Jamal.

Speaker 4 (21:19):
But it's clear I will say this and tighty what
Tyler just said. If you remember the year before he
finished the season hurt, he did not look good in
that Minnesota series, and then he had three weeks to
kind of rehab and now all of a sudden you're
playing for Team Canada the rest of the summer. I
don't think he ever got right, and I think it
played in effect into the start of last season because

(21:39):
if you remember it, Gush, I think he missed twenty
games out of the first fifty or something like that, right,
And I just don't think he was ever right last
year until late in the season.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
Well, coach did say the number one priority at this point,
and I know they have a preseason game in Oklahoma City,
which frankly, if they play.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
Nobody, that's probably what's going to happen.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
Fine, because the season's right around the corner, and you
were gonna be wherever you were. And I think last
night was like a nice little test. By the way,
I don't know what the official attendance was, but that
plays had a ton of people in there for a
preseason game.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
So I actually just read it. It was it was
sixteen thousand, five hundred and sixty seven.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
That is bananas, bananas, there's that many people there. Yeah,
So either there are a lot of freak tickets given away,
or the passion for this team is kind of.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
Or a lot of Bulls fans, which there are a
lot of Chicago people.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Maybe maybe, but maybe, but I didn't notice that. I
didn't feel that last night, like it was like like
a Celtics game or something like that, or a Chicago
game that does happen. No, I think just the excitement
with this team is it's gonna be incredible when this
thing gets rolling. By the way, Ron Holmes, I hope
he enjoys Grand Rapids because that's the only way he's

(22:50):
gonna play basketball this year. And Jalen Pickett maybe, uh
you know, get the MVP of that Grand Rapids team too,
because I don't know how either one of them gets
on the court. For the Denver Nuggets, I hopefully joined
games by twenty Okay, all right, well that's a long
way than we thought they were gonna be, that's for sure.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
You and I talked about this yesterday during the break
one of the breaks, and I brought this up with
Tyler during this last one. The guys that seemed behind
a little bit as far as in rotation, primarily our
Calvin Booth guys. Okay, you know Zeke Nodsey has that
makes sense, was re signed by Calvin to a big deal.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Rapid Zeke Grand Rapids Picket, Grand rapids dron Holmes, you.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
Know Picket, which we understand might have been one of
the first real consternations between the old coaching staff and
the front office, dron Holmes, which you know, we were told, Oh,
this is backup for Joker. This guy's a small fold.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 4 (23:51):
He's a small phone.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
He doesn't even he's not. No, it's it's not a
fit because you got Hardaway Junior and you got Bruce Brown. Okay,
so that takes care of your guard situations if you
need it well, and if you.

Speaker 4 (24:02):
Notice Peyton Watson the last couple of preseason games. But really,
with that second unit has brought the ball up a
lot more than ever before.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Yes, and Strather is gonna get his shine, and and
Valancunis is gonna be the best backup the Nuggets have
ever had to Jokic, not even close. So I mean,
and Jamal is gonna play with the second union a lot,
which is good. That's gonna make sense. It's gonna be
a big relief. It is funny because Adaman was comparing
the team not to a football team, because he is

(24:29):
trying things out. And the funniest thing is clearly Jokic
and Valancunis. He explained, it's.

Speaker 6 (24:38):
It's that's gonna be a process. I'm not gonna shy
away from it. I think it can work. There's been
really good moments and very confusing moments. I mean, I
went Altra big with Aaron at the three just to
see it, and I think no one understands this. But
it's only for practiciing for fourteen hours a day, so
we're not we're not an NFL team. They get six

(24:59):
days to script play and put these different combinations out
there like it's you gotta let them go do it
and see what happens, and you can't freak out if
it's ugly. So there were some good things, some bad
things in those two games. And as the year goes on,
if we see opportunities where it makes sense to play
those guys together and we have more time to implement
a package for the two that when they're out there offensively,

(25:19):
I'm definitely gonna do it.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
That's pretty funny. It looks weird, but think about what's
the bigger picture of.

Speaker 4 (25:24):
What he just said. That they actually got pieces that
he is going to be able to experiment with. Last year,
there was no experimentation. Was there was there any ability
to sit there say what if we tried this and
what if we do this.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
I felt like last year was all about trying to
blend Russell Westbrook with the team. I thought that was
the whole season was was dedicated to that one thing.
One guy Russ signes with the Kings. By the way,
is that a weird side into you? From Russell's perspective,
it seems weird to be.

Speaker 4 (25:56):
Well, it's closer to home for him, it's an hour
Ere's what's the one thing missing for him? Championship?

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Yeah, he doesn't care about that. He just loves hoop
and he's in great shape. I don't think he really
cares about a championship. I really don't think. I think
he's a good.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
Oh he might not, and who knows. It might have
literally been his only opportunity, and so you just take
the one opportunity you got if you want to play ball.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
But I thought Boogey Cousins was a good guy. I
think there's a lot of good guys that suck oxygen
out of a team and they don't even do it intentionally.
They're just they just are who they are. But last year.
You can't base everything around one guy. And that's what
they were doing. They were trying to make this one
freaking guy happy and and he had moments. But your

(26:37):
guy is Jamal Murray, not Russell Westbrook. And we're all
talking about this one guy the whole year. We were
talking about this one freaking guy. And I was like,
oh my god, that is not gonna happen this year. No,
it's gonna be about the team and combinations of things
and and how we're gonna do everything in Jamal hey Man.
Good for Jamal Man. You took it seriously. You got

(26:57):
yourself in better shape. And you know, if it's gonna
be about anybody, it should be about Jamal and Jokic.
I think Cam Johnson's gonna be interesting because I think
there's gonna be a lot of games where we're not
even gonna realize he's there on the team, but Michael yeah.
And there's gonna be some games where he's the best
player on the floor. Not a lot, but a few.

(27:19):
He's gonna be kind of like Michael yeah, kind of.
And there's gonna be a lot of games where he's
not even out there in the last five minutes like Michael. Yeah,
because you're gonna have better defenders with Peyton Watson and
Bruce Brown and maybe even Tim Hardaway Junior.

Speaker 4 (27:35):
Frankly, did I not tell you that I like that signing?

Speaker 2 (27:38):
You know, he's actually bigger than I thought he was.
I don't know why I thought him was such a
small dude, but he really isn't because his dad's a
small dude, I know. I think I think I'm just
thinking of his dad like that, which is ridiculous because
he's been in league for Red.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
Jim Mortaway Junior is a grown man. I mean he's legit.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
Yes, So Cam Johnson is gonna be on the bench,
I mean it's gonna it's he's gonna be MPJ all over.
I think he's gonna be a little bit better of
a defender. He's probably not gonna be quite as impactful
on the inside as MPJ was when he chose to
be every now and then. So I don't know. I
think it's kind of a wash financially. I think it
afforded them to do other things, So I guess that's

(28:17):
that's better.

Speaker 4 (28:18):
And he's not gonna set val.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
Yeah, and he's not gonna suck energy away. But Michael
didn't do that either.

Speaker 4 (28:25):
Mike.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Mike was a good dude. Everybody liked Mike. It's better overall,
but it's not gonna be It's all about Valentiunists and
Jamal and and it'll be great. It's gonna be great.
We're gonna have an unbelievable year here. But there was
a funny thing. Did you see the Celtics What the
Celtics did, Tyler? Did you see what? Okay, they told

(28:48):
their media, you guys are gonna play each other on
our practice court.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
So then the coach there, what's his face? I really
like but he's a weirdo. But okay, that guy.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
This was a statement, that's what this was. This was
you guys don't know Ball.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
I'm blanket on his name. Dans Celtics. Oh gosh, I
can't believe I can't remember his name.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
That guy.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
He comes out and he tells the media, Oh, you're
not playing against each other, You're gonna play against our
assistant coaches. Joe Misula, Thank you, Joe Mizula. So they
line up the assistant coaches of the Celtics against the
local media. For the Celtics, it was like fifty four,
it was three two one. A Celtics coach lines up

(29:35):
from the logo and drains a three pointer at the
buzzer to make it fifty seven to four, and the
Celtics coaches pressed the whole game that's great. The media
people said, we might have got the ball over half
court ten times in an entire game. Maybe somehow they

(29:56):
scored four points. So afterwards I threw this out of that.
You see the Celtics assistant coaches to go on the
Celtics media.

Speaker 5 (30:04):
I did see that.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Yeah, so how do you supposed to we would do
in that situation?

Speaker 3 (30:09):
No comment. I don't know.

Speaker 6 (30:10):
I got I got a lot of former NBA players
on my staff, but uh no, that that would be
interesting to be fun.

Speaker 5 (30:17):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
I think we do.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
Okay, don't worry, Mack.

Speaker 3 (30:22):
We've got a media training camp coming.

Speaker 6 (30:25):
Up, and yeah, there you got the middle thanks to
play the coaches to go through drill.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
My comment, if you couldn't hear it, was, we'll put
Hastings in the middle, and I got a game plan
because taking the ball out is going to be hard.
So here's the deal. You just stop at half court.
You don't have to play any defense whatsoever. It's not
it's not gonna matter. They're gonna score it will no
matter what. But we're gonna have problems bring the ball up.
So we need you to do two things.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
Last, and the ball.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
We need you to be in the middle, somewhere in
the middle of the court. And Tyler you too, Okay,
all right, forget about defense, both of you guys.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
As long as I don't have to dribble.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
You don't have to dribble. This this is awesome. The
two of you guys just stand at mid court as
we inbound the ball, and we just throw the ball
to you guys, hoping to God that one of you
catches it. Whoever doesn't catch it just goes under the basket.
And then our entire team just throw shoot the ball
again under the basket and we take our chances with

(31:26):
that offense.

Speaker 4 (31:28):
I think we got a couple of big guys.

Speaker 5 (31:29):
Though.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
If we were to do that, how do you think
that game would go against us? We would score more
than four points.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
We would.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
Yeah, are are you guys?

Speaker 4 (31:39):
We we we here with the media?

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Are we are we weing here?

Speaker 4 (31:43):
Listen?

Speaker 3 (31:44):
I know my skill sets, my skill sets do not
translate to basketball very well.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Yeah, but you're six, you're six.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
You got a new body you now have. That is right, right,
I can run a little bit better to have a
powerful that's true.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
That is a good point.

Speaker 4 (31:58):
And one of them little little guard.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
I did get a severe knee injury on a hike yesterday,
Oh dear, really yeah. It took me an hour and
a half to go down about it a quarter mile?

Speaker 2 (32:07):
Oh lord?

Speaker 3 (32:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (32:08):
But again, the whole thing is you just standing there
with your arms up. You're kind of like one flew
over the Cuckoo's nest, Chief Chief and that one like
Chief did in that that basketball game. So you just
stand there, just hold the ball because like J. J.
Barrera where I mean, he's you know, obviously unbelievable. But
he's not even six feet tall, is he?

Speaker 6 (32:27):
No?

Speaker 4 (32:27):
But can I say something? He would kill absolutely every single.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
We're just we're just gonna let him score. There's nothing
we can do to stop him scoring.

Speaker 4 (32:35):
We can put big Tyler down down saying no, that's
one thing I can do. We can be enforcer in
the middle.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
Would that be a better play?

Speaker 4 (32:43):
The media?

Speaker 3 (32:44):
The media's game plan is no layups. See I think
I think you just let let Scott Cherry pick on
the offensive end.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
Okay, well, but we need help in bounding.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
But Wendy, I actually think I might be I might
be then about because if you just throw it to Scott, yeah,
like I'm just gonna throw it over the crowd, and then.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
We need one more big guy. When she and Dempse here,
are they gonna be any good?

Speaker 4 (33:11):
Well? When's he could or when she can spot up
in the corner and make threes? Okay, Dimpse, you'll be
good until that knee swells up.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
VIC would be a going after it.

Speaker 4 (33:20):
VIC would, Vic would try, but JJ Burray would probably
kill him.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
That'd be a fun battle to watch it.

Speaker 4 (33:25):
Yeah, yeah, because he would, he would challenge him. VIC
ain't gonna back down.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
I'm gonna tell you this, I don't need a primary
role in this game. I don't coach. No, I'm not
coaching you talking about.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
But when Scott just said he doesn't want you on
the court, I got it.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
I understand. The time is gonna be limited for me.
I understand. I get it. I'm just gonna tell you this.
As soon as I touch that ball, it's going up.
As soon as I touch it. It's gonna be back
high school varsity d mac. If I touch it, I
better shoot it because I'm not gonna see it again.
And I'm gonna be on the bench soon enough. I
am gonna be facu compaso for the for the Denver Nuggets,

(33:59):
for the media. How many points in a ten minute
game or fifteen minute game? How many points you think
we could actually score in a fifte game?

Speaker 4 (34:08):
Yeah, probably eight or nine.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
I feel like I'm good for four points off rebounds.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
I mean.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
Only coming off rebound.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
We'd have to be able to get some shots up
so you and I would have a chance on the rebui, right.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
Yeah, that's what the Celtics didn't have six ten, sixth eight.
They didn't have the Twin Towers, download the scribes for
the Boston Phoenix or whatever. We're a little you know,
it was a little challenging. Do you think this will happen?

Speaker 5 (34:35):
No?

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Okay, all right, we come back more on the Broncos
and the Giants plus Jared Bednar. Jared Bennar was playing
Nate McKinnon saying, the fans are booing us in the
power play. You'll hear it coming up. We'll get to
the Broncos and the Giants here in just a little
bit during the commercial break, we're just figuring out other
offensive strategies and defensive strategies to beat the I don't

(34:59):
know is a beat Nuggets coaches, but I think it's
a good game plan. Wrest a lot on YouTube. By
the way, So I mean Tyler.

Speaker 4 (35:07):
Throws it in. Yeah, it's a quick point guard. They
can have the ball. Probably I lay somebody out. He's
trying to pressure him full court. I mean I just dropped.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
He got an assistant coach he'd like, I know, I
don't know.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
Also very nice for me, the roll to the public key.
Tyler runs straight to the underneath the rebounds. We got
Wenjy and somebody else.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
In the corners with chance and Scott just huks it
up because if you hit the three, cool.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
See no chance boss. The media had a game plan,
You got a game plan. We got a game.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
They couldn't get the ball over half court. That was
the problem. I mean, if the if the Nuggets assistant
coaches are just gonna let us take the ball up
the court, might win the game.

Speaker 4 (35:50):
Well, here's another thing we got to look into. It
is Calabrini, you know, former Nugget or for former Celtic
who does do their broadcast. I guess he didn't play
on the beating.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
I didn't see him out there. I would have noticed him.

Speaker 4 (36:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
Have you seen those clips of him playing street ball? Yeah,
it's great.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
Yeah, well the funniest I mean, I've seen that. But
I've also seen him when he took on the two
radio guys, which was hysterical, like just two schlumpy guys.
I know him actually, Fred Toucher and Rich from the
Sports of and it was hysterical. It's just embarrassing. You know,
you really just don't know how good these guys really are.

(36:28):
You know, we sit back in our chairs. Well you
you know obviously, but like you know, the the general fan,
we're we're quick to criticize these athletes about this, that
and the other thing. It's like, okay, here's here's the ball, son.

Speaker 4 (36:40):
See what you can do.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
I mean, it's it's next level stuff. It's just everybody
playing the next level stuff. So it looks a little
bit more even. That's all, but it'd be fun. The
Avs Bedsy today on the Bedsy Show, so they are
struggling on the power play. They're three on one one,
but they're struggling on the power.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
But I'll tell you the three and nineteen to start
to see.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Yeah, not great obviously, So this is pretty funny, man,
this is cool. Brett did this. McKinnon went off about,
you know, the fans like, our power play is actually good.
You just don't know what you're watching. Maybe you should
keep booing us, all right, Nate, welcome to the season.
Seventy nine more to go at the time seventy eight. Now,
So here's ben NAR's response to it, and they're gonna

(37:18):
play the Nathan McKinnon stuff. Four Bens, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (37:22):
I think like I think like the power Place hungry
and wants to score.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
So just to correct it, this is this picks it up.
Afterwards they did you you gotta trust me. Well, here's
here's what McKinnon said.

Speaker 8 (37:31):
Oh, I thought it was really good tonight, really good tonight.
I guess they don't really know what a good power
play looks like. We had a ton of chances and
just nothing was going in and we finally got one.
So I guess they got a boos.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
More so, they did play that for for Bessy and
then he said, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (37:51):
I think like I think, like the power place hungry
and wants to score every time it goes on the ice,
and prior of the messaging from the coaches is like, hey,
like you know, like that power play wasn't great, and
that one's going to have to be really good, right,
And then they go out on the power play and
they get four scoring chances and three high danger, high
quality chances, and either they miss on them, you know,

(38:14):
a guy gets a block on one, a goalie makes
a big save on one, and you don't score on it.
It's again, it's about sort of the rhythm of it
and how they produce those chances and eventually you got
to finish them off at the right moments. A couple
of those games, like I said, we came you know,
power play was ineffective and then really good and you

(38:35):
come up empty and then they go get one. You know,
like I've seen some good things getting dangerous off the
rush attack, like mixing that into our bag of tricks.
So it's not just set up and and and play
a zone play time.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
So he goes on about the specifics of how we're
gonna get better and says they're okay.

Speaker 4 (38:53):
Also, so you say he took a funny bit and
just went full coach style.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
On he went all coach style on it. But what
he's saying too, though, because he's taking it serious, is
that we're going to be all right, We're gonna be
okay in here. And also, like the second line, as
intimidating as it looks, Landiscott, Nelson and Nichisha, and they
really haven't done a whole heck of a lot right now.
And again he was like, well, it'd be patient here,
it'll click.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
Well, there's gonna be a lot of attention paid to
the power play this year. Well, that's right, you know,
based off the way the season ended. They were really
good in the regular season the power play, and then
they were terrible at the end of the year. And
then your power play, your special team's coach ends up
getting fired.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
Yeah, this is correct.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
So fans are going to be well aware of what
the issue was at the end of the season, and
they're gonna want it to look better.

Speaker 4 (39:36):
And they started three of nineteen ye power play, but.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
They're three to zero and one, you know what I mean.
They got seven out of eight points and last year.
At this time they were zero and four and I
was like, what is going on with this team? They
played tomorrow night in Columbus and here you go from there.
They're playing Saturday against the Bruins and that should be
a hell of a game at ball Arena. Another question though,
for you they played on Canadian things Thanksgiving? Do you

(40:00):
guys know there was a Canadian Thanksgiving?

Speaker 3 (40:02):
I didn't know. Pilgrims went there, me neither.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
I don't know what the roots of Canadian Thanksgiving are.
I don't know what the traditions of Canadian Thanksgiving are.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
The probably Scandinavian cafilter fish.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
I know it was on Monday. So here's my question
for you guys, because they asked Betsy about did you
guys celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving? But before I play it, I
want you to think for a second, if you were
in a foreign country and an American holiday happened, would
you celebrate that American holiday in a foreign country?

Speaker 4 (40:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (40:39):
Yeah, maybe, like depends on the holiday.

Speaker 2 (40:44):
Christmas is celebrated by everybody, so we take Christmas out
of it. There's only there's only two that really stand out.
Fourth of July day and Thanksgiving or the glyt Thanksgiving,
So I guess I'm asking very specifically.

Speaker 3 (41:00):
Yeah, I definitely, I definitely like the fireworks. Fireworks on
my neighbor's house on the fourth.

Speaker 2 (41:05):
No matter where you were, Yeah, you could be in
uh England.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
I love it, especially if I'm in England.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
Little Victory dance, yeah, little uh check out little seats
they'll talk, Yeah, nanny natty boo boo. Okay, would you
what about Thanksgiving?

Speaker 4 (41:24):
If you were in I would celebrate Thanksgiving to the
matter where I was.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
You're in Toronto with the Nuggets.

Speaker 4 (41:30):
And I would we would celebrate Thanksgiving? You would, yes, yeah,
I would?

Speaker 2 (41:36):
Okay. You guys didn't here this this morning, did you know? Okay,
what do you think? Ben Nar said? And in the
vast majority of the team is Canadian by the way,
the vast majority is Canadian. What do you think? He said?
And they played a day game, which means they had
a lot of time the rest of the night and

(41:57):
the whole thing. What do you think he said?

Speaker 4 (41:59):
We just went on off, we got home and everybody
hit on their oad.

Speaker 2 (42:05):
Tyler, I bet they did something. Okay, So you say
think they did and you're like, yeah.

Speaker 9 (42:13):
Last question for me a coach, and it comes from
our colleague dmac. He wants to know about Monday. Of course,
Monday was a Columbus Day slash Cabrini Day slash Indigenous
People's Day slash.

Speaker 4 (42:23):
Canadian Thanksgiving Day.

Speaker 9 (42:26):
Did you as a team celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving after the game?

Speaker 5 (42:30):
No, we did not.

Speaker 9 (42:32):
So you don't have any interest whatsoever in Canadian Thanksgiving,
is what you're telling me.

Speaker 5 (42:37):
No, I I do if I was in Canada, But like,
I don't celebrate to Thanksgivings, you know, so I live
in the US. It's home for me, So I celebrate
American Thanksgiving, you know, if in Canada, or if we
were if we were on a road tip in Canada,
it's a holiday and then we'd celebrate that. But we

(42:59):
are not, so I don't.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
I gotta be honest, coach. If I was in timbucktoo
during the fourth of July, I might have a firework.

Speaker 3 (43:05):
Off, that's my guy.

Speaker 5 (43:08):
Yeah, well, you're American, exactly the same thing. I celebrate
that weekend forth of July weekend, but I don't have
a big party on July first.

Speaker 2 (43:17):
I think what he's sneakily saying there is Americans.

Speaker 4 (43:19):
