Speaker 1 (00:00):
The curious case of the floating pancakes. It was a
chilly Halloween morning, and the smell of maple syrup filled
the kitchen. Emily and Daniel were sitting at the table
staring at a tall stack of golden pancakes their mom
had just made. Daniel, wearing his favorite pumpkin pajamas, grinned.

(00:22):
These might be the best pancakes ever, he said, picking
up his fork. But before he could take a bite,
something strange happened. The top pancake began to wiggle, then
it shook, then, with a quiet woosh, it floated straight
up into the air. Hey Daniel gasped. Standing up. Another

(00:46):
pancake lifted off his plate, then another, until the entire
stack was hovering in mid air like a flying breakfast tower.
Emily's eyes widened. Your pancakes are floating, she shouted. The
pancakes drifted toward the window. Daniel lunged to grab them,
but they were too fast. They squeezed out through a

(01:09):
tiny crack, leaving a trail of syrupy sparkles behind. Without thinking,
Emily and Daniel dashed outside. The pancakes floated down the street,
flipping and spinning like they were having the time of
their lives. Daniel and Emily chased after them, dodging pumpkins

(01:31):
and Halloween decorations. Come back, breakfast. Isn't supposed to escape,
Daniel yelled. They ran past missus Plum's bakery, where the
smell of cinnamon rolls filled the air. As they passed,
missus Plum waved her rolling pin. You chasing flying food again,

(01:52):
Daniel not usually, He panted. The pancakes turned a corner
and floated toward the town's square. But something unusual was
happening there too. Colorful tints had appeared overnight. There were
banners that read Welcome to the first Annual Halloween Food Festival.

(02:17):
Doughnut people in chef hats bustled around, juggling pumpkins, flipping cookies,
and sprinkling glitter on cupcakes. But these weren't ordinary chefs.
Each one sparkled with magic. One chef with cotton candy
hair waved his wand and turned apples into pie's mid air.

(02:38):
Another made spaghetti dance like snakes inside a pot. Emily's
jaw dropped magical chefs, Daniel pointed, and look are pancakes.
Sure enough, the runaway breakfast stack was floating toward a
tall chef wearing a golden hat. He clapped his hands

(03:02):
and the pancakes landed perfectly on a silver plate. Ah,
said the chef, My special guests have arrived. Emily blinked,
your guests. The chef bowed. Chef Whizzlewhip, at your service,
master of magical meals and breakfast sorcery. He twirled his mustache,

(03:24):
which sparkled with sugar crystals. Chef whizzle Whip waved his
wand and suddenly Emily and Daniel's surroundings came alive. Doughnuts
were rolling down the street, Waffles hopped like frogs, and
a river of syrup flowed beside the food booths. Wow,

(03:46):
Daniel whispered, this is the best day ever. Chef Whizzlewhip
smiled proudly. Every Halloween, we hold a special food festival,
just for those who believe in a little magic. Emily
giggled as a floating muffin offered her a napkin. So

(04:08):
why did our pancakes fly away? The chef winked. They
smelled the magic. When the festival begins, enchanted ingredients wake up,
But we could use some help today. Daniel perked up.
We can help. Chef Whizzlewhip pointed to a large bubbling

(04:31):
pot in the middle of the square. My pumpkin pancake
batter is acting up. It keeps trying to float away.
Emily and Daniel hurried over. The batter inside the pot
was spinning like a torn Nato, splattering bits of orange
goop everywhere. Daniel grabbed a spoon. Maybe if we stir

(04:56):
it really fast, But as soon as he touch the spoon,
the batter formed a giant pancake and leaped out of
the pot. It flew straight over their heads. Not again.
Daniel groaned. Emily laughed, quick grabbed the syrup. She squirted

(05:17):
syrup upward, and the sticky stream caught the pancake midflight.
It slowly drifted down, landing with a soft PLoP on
the ground. Chef Whizzlewhip clapped, marvelous teamwork, You've saved the
pancake parade. Suddenly, the pancake puffed up like a balloon,

(05:39):
forming a smiling face with syrupy eyes. Thank you, it squeaked,
I just wanted to dance in the festival. Daniel and
Emily looked at each other amazed. Chef Whizzlewhip chuckled. All
my dishes loved to perform on Halloween. It's their one
day of freedom before breakfast becomes breakfast again. As the

(06:07):
sun began to set, the festival turned into a grand parade.
Magical food marched down Main Street, dancing pies, twirling cupcakes,
and leading the way the flying pancake stack. Emily and
Daniel were given golden chef hats and joined the parade.

(06:30):
Children and parents cheered as they tossed glittery sprinkles into
the air. Chef Whizzlewhip rode on a float shaped like
a giant mixing bowl to Emily and Daniel. He announced
for helping save our festival. Everyone cheered. Fireworks burst above,

(06:50):
showering the sky and sparkles shaped like stars and waffles.
When the clock struck midnight, a gentle bell rang. One
by one, the magical foods floated back into the air,
waving good bye. The pancakes smiled at the kids, thanks

(07:10):
for believing in breakfast magic. Then it vanished in a
puff of powdered sugar. The next morning, Emily and Daniel
woke up wondering if it had all been a dream.
But when they went downstairs for breakfast, their mom was
setting the table. I tried a new recipe, she said,

(07:35):
Pumpkin pancakes with a touch of cinnamon. The pancakes on
their plates were perfectly still, no floating this time, but
sprinkled across the top or sparkless sugar stars. Emily grinned
at Daniel. Think they'll fly away again? He took a bite.

(07:55):
Maybe next Halloween. They both laughed as somewhere, far far away,
a tiny pancake flipped happily through the sky. The end.
