Welcome to Possibilities over Problems. In today's episode, Sean will be speaking with Penny Daniels. She is a 12 1/2 year old 7th grader at Hamilton International Middle School in Seattle. She is an avid baker, loves playing on her soccer team, plays piano and clarinet, and likes to read.Although she's open to most anything the future brings, Penny is currently interested in blending her love of baking and making a difference with people by being a professional baker and teacher of baking. Penny believes that people should be treated how they, as individuals, need to be treated. She's learned to distinguish equality and equity and is discovering her commitment to equity. Her role models include her mom and dad because they have always shared openly with her about what is happening in the world and with them, and Penny values children being included in conversations that affect humanity. She believes that it's through becoming aware of what's happening in the world that she, and others, can make a difference. And making a difference is important to her. She also has her soccer coaches as role models as they have shaped her into the strong person she knows herself to be.
