Are we as a person any different? Empowerment Sessions are where believers get the opportunity to make the necessary corrections, adjustments and spiritual enhancements needed to be better equipped to live more powerful lives for Christ. Acts 1:8

Empowerment sessions offer the opportunity for one-on-one coaching, discipleship and self-improvement, in a confidential but very transparent group setting. Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello friends, Henry Flowers here, Powerful Living Outreach Ministries really
excited to come before you today and share the word
of God to help you go from where you are
to living and operating with power in every area of
your life. It's possible. And Jesus said he wants you
to have a rich and satisfying life. He wants you

(00:25):
to have the power according to Acts chapter one, verse eight,
but you got to grab a hold of it and
you have to walk in it. And that's what we
do here Powerful Living Outreach Ministries. We're really excited. I
think we are at about three hundred and fifteen subscribers,
and my goal for the end of the year was
five hundred subscribers on YouTube. Not really sure how many

(00:49):
people are listening to us on Apple podcasts, but you
can find us on Apple Podcasts and iHeartRadio and all
those good things Spotify. I try to I need to
be more diligent about uploading the audio. Sometimes I get
too focused on the video because you can see it,
and you got the views and all this kind of stuff,
and I need to be more diligent of making sure
the audio gets uploaded as well, because some people the

(01:13):
audio works better for them, but needless to say, one
way or another, the Gospel is preached and that is
the goal. So our goal of five hundred subscribers is approaching.
We had like three hundred and fifteen right now. So
God is good. Sharing the Word of God throughout the
nations is our calling as believers, and sometimes like myself,

(01:38):
when you are a call to be a teacher. He
gave some apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. Sometimes you've
been called to a different level of sharing the gospel,
and he says these were called it called us the
five fold ministry. He says, these were called for the
perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry,
and for the edifying of the Body of Christ. That's

(02:01):
why we're doing what we're doing. As far as getting
our subscribers up, getting the thing the ministry established. People
have been asking about how to give, and we're definitely
going to make that available to you so you can
give and support this ministry because we got a lot
of things we want to do here at Powerful Living
Outreach Ministries. This is at this stage of our ministry

(02:23):
when it comes to giving the things that you'll be
giving to will not necessarily be towards a building, because
we actually have a building. Not meeting in person yet,
but our building was gifted to us. Yeah, someone that
I had been ministering to on a grassroots level in
somebody's backyard, just helping him sort through his life. The

(02:44):
God was not a believer yet. And I'll never forget this,
he said, Henriette. I have trouble believing in God, but man,
I believe in you. He says, you got a gift,
and I have a building that I think would be
good because people need to hear what you got to say,
and he gifted us use of that building. So when
we get to about twelve people I think as our number.

(03:06):
When we get to about twelve people here in the
Cincinnati area, we'll start meeting in person. But until then
it's all online. And so we got a lot of
things we want to do as far as marketing, and
also you're giving well in addition to go into marketing,
you're gilding. You're giving. Right now, we'll go towards benevolence.
See when you're on the grassroots level ministering the people
the way we do. Listen, a lot of times we

(03:27):
go out and give to the homeless, wool hats, wool socks.
You know, giving to the homeless is one thing, but
giving correctly and properly the things that they need is
a whole nother ballgame. Like wool stays warm, keeps you
warm even if you get wet. Did you know that?
I didn't know that. I didn't know that until a

(03:49):
homeless guy that I was ministering to actually took me
out and showed me the ropes on how to minister
it to the homeless. And so we went and bought
all these wool scarves and socks and hats. They keep
you warm even when they're wet. No other material does that.
And that thing was not cheap. Giving food to the

(04:11):
home wolf. All these things cost. And I'd love to
be able to not take that out of my personal income,
because you know, they got this depression on and all,
and the inflation on and all, and things you're kind
of tight nowadays. But God's thing done, God's way will
never like God's supply. And so we'll give you an
opportunity very soon to begin to give towards this ministry.

(04:33):
And sometimes people that we minister to, sometimes folks just
need to get through the rest of the month. Man,
they need help with their electric bill. Sometimes people have
a car repair that they can't pay for. And I
think the church has a huge opportunity to build relationships

(04:54):
with people when you can help them with your substance
and help them get by. Some times people just need
to get by, man. Sometimes they need to help out
of the hole. They've been down for so long, just
scratching and clawing and doing things that they know how
to do, just trying to get by. And then sometimes, man,

(05:17):
they just can't get caught up. You get behind your rent.
It's hard to get caught up, man, You get behind
in a car payment. Let me tell you something. I know.
This is by experience. The best way to get back
on your feet if you're down and out is missed
three car payments. Oh, they coming to get that because

(05:38):
they know it's hard to get caught up. And it's
just powerful to see lives changed and people know that
you love them when you can help them get caught up,
like in a real way. You know, it's one thing
to pray for somebody and hope that they get through,
and there's another thing that reach down and pull them

(05:59):
up with you. Your hands with your substance and get
them through. And that's what you're giving. We'll be doing
helping people on the grassroots level. A lot of people
here their lives have been changed by us grabbing hold

(06:20):
of them and being the church. This is what outreach
ministry looks like. And sometimes people just need help getting through,
So thank you for that. If you want to contact us,
you can always send us a text message five one
three four zero four seven seven nine three. If you
got any questions about our ministry, of course, you can

(06:41):
go to the website pot What is our website, Powerful
Living dot org. Yeah, Powerful Living dot org. If all
of our videos and things are up there, find us
over the airways of YouTube, of course. Powerful Living put
in Henry Flowers on YouTube and that will get you

(07:03):
the access that you need. If you've got questions, comments,
things that you've never gotten, answers to where does it
say it in the Bible? What does this in the Bible?
What does the Bible say about this? Show me chapter verse?
You need to go ahead and send those. You can
email us too, Powerful Living twenty twenty two at gmail

(07:23):
dot com. You send us will listen. I respond all
of the comments that we get questions on the YouTube
channels and our videos. I respond as much as I can.
I can do it now. You know, we don't have
an overwhelming task when it comes to that, so I
can do it now. It may grow to the point
where I can't do it later, but I can do

(07:44):
it now. So if you got any questions or comments,
I will answer those, email us, send us a text.
Whatever you choose to do, and we want to help
you grow. We don't want to help you get the knowledge,
so you can choose. Because I told you before, I
tell you again, I didn't come to Jesus Christ just
because it was something that I was raised in, raised

(08:04):
in church and all this kind of stuff. Nope, I
came to the knowledge of Jesus Christ because I looked
at the evidence and the evidence compiled. When I did
the research and studied it for myself, it changed my life.

(08:33):
And that's why I'm willing to teach and help others
do the same thing. Because a life change is something
that will last for eternity. When you pull somebody out
of darkness and into the light, that's something that has
a ripple effect throughout eternity. I believe that when people

(08:55):
come in contact with the Almighty God, their life will
be changed forever in a powerful and positive way. That's
something that someone can never thank you for. It's just
like we can never be thankful to God for the
forgiveness of our sins because it's just been too valuable.

(09:18):
So that's what we're doing, and I hope you'll be
a part today. We will be again a walk through
the Book of Matthew. In my journey to teach and

(09:40):
edify the Body of Christ, I'm constantly encouraging people to
read the Word of God. You've got to read the Bible.
That's why we do the Bible readings and make it
available on video and audio, because I don't know of
a better way to get in contact with the Almighty
God and get to know him then through his word.

(10:05):
God is big and he's beyond us. And sometimes it's
really hard to grab a hold of this idea of
God Jehovah yahweh. Like even in the scriptures in the
Old Testament, it it was almost blasphemous to say his

(10:26):
name Jehovah. And there was a word that was used
y h w h. There were there were no consonants,
there were there were no vowels, and so it was
almost like a that's how you say his name Jah,

(10:47):
and that's where we get the the name yahweh. We
added those vowels in there, yahweh. And there's a lot
of different discussions about that. But the Almighty God, he's
he's vast, He's out there, this galactic God that is
beyond us, and it's like, how do you how do

(11:09):
you even know for sure? How do you know what
to believe? Like you look at your telescope and you
go to that observatory and see all of those galaxies
out there and all those stars, like what how? And
then you look at the Earth and you see the
majesty and the beauty, and you look at your own

(11:29):
body and you see the beauty, and you're like how,
what where God? The Almighty God? But then it's like
what does that mean? Like Muslims have a god, Hindus
have a bunch of gods, like a bunch of them?
Are we talking Buddha or like what God like? And

(11:56):
then the answer to that question is Jesus. The Bible
declares that he is the express image of the invisible God.
To get to know Jesus is to get to know God.

(12:18):
He said himself. He said, I am the Way, I
am the Truth, I am the Life. No man comes
unto the Father but by me. This is what he declared.
John chapter fourteen, verse six. Read it for yourself. That

(12:41):
was a bold statement. That statement, among other statements, is
what led to him being crucified. He said, this man
makes his self himself equal with God? How dare he?
Who does he think he is? Did he just did

(13:03):
he just come out of his mouth that I am Deity?
Well he didn't say that directly, but he implied it
by saying that I am the Father, our one. That's blasphemy.
They wanted to push him off a cliff. And so
these things occurred. And it's like the God who loves

(13:27):
us eternally did something for us that we could not
do for ourselves, and saving us from our sins. He
gave us his only begotten son, and a powerful story,
powerful love was expressed that gave us the opportunity to

(13:50):
walk through the gates of heaven and be with God forever,
be able to have all of our questions answered. Everything
you ever wanted to know, you'll be able to ask
it from God, the Father himself, in that holy city,

(14:12):
and that beautiful story begins right here in the Book
of Matthew. So for the next however long, we'll journey
through the Book of Matthew and begin to unfold the
greatest story ever told, and we'll begin to learn for

(14:34):
ourselves why Jesus of Nazareth is the central figure in
history and why he deserves worship. There are many other
places that you can go who say different things about Jesus.

(14:56):
Many other organizations and religious beliefs have different things that
they say about Jesus. But for me, if somebody calls
you a racist, I want to hear it from you.
I'm gonna be that's how I am. I'm gonna be
right up in your face. I'm gonna be smiling, I'm
gonna shake my hand. I want to give you an

(15:18):
opportunity for you to show me that you're racism hum.
I want to because because I believe that people's own
words and the things that they say are the most
powerful evidence for who they really are. I don't trust gossip,

(15:41):
I don't trust rumors. I want to hear it from them.
And so as we journey through the Book of Matthew,
that is exactly what we will do. We'll begin to
hear from Jesus about who he is and about why
he is so Matthew Chapter one, I'll be reading from

(16:05):
the New Living Translation. If you old school, when you
want to ready King James version, you can go right
ahead and do that. Mine will be a bit different
New Living Translation. And today I'll start off with just
an an overview or description of the Book of Matthew.

(16:26):
This is from Biblica Study Bible. If you have the
Bible app, go to the app store look for the
one that says Life Church dot TV and a little
brown symbol with yellow writing that says Holy Bibles. A
beautiful app and it's free. It does some amazing things.
And if you look here in the Book of Matthew,

(16:46):
you look into the section right at the top right corner,
you'll punch the little round button with the three dots
and you look up related content. And then right at
the bottom it says book introduction Matthew. And I'm going
to read Biblica Study Bible the Gospel of Matthew. Here

(17:11):
we go. What is the Book of Matthew. The Gospel
of Matthew is a collection of stories about Jesus. It
includes Jesus's words and teachings, and stories and teachings were
passed down by Jesus' followers who lived and worked with him.

(17:35):
Now this is a very important point because one of
the things that you want to do as you begin
to build a case, even if you were in court,
you need some corroborating witnesses. Those always are the ones
that make or break a case. And so this is
declaring that these writings are from people who were with him,

(17:59):
followers of Jesus who lived and worked with him. Matthew
wrote these stories and teachings down. It's the and it's
thought that he wrote them down between the years a d.
Sixty and sixty five. Who was Matthew written for for

(18:21):
Jews in Israel during Jesus's time? And followers of Jesus
recognize that Matthew's gospel shares the truth about Jesus. It's
for all people everywhere. So there's a distinction at these points. Now, yes,

(18:47):
these the scriptures were written specifically for Jews. There were
God's people. Will explain some of that later. They were
God's chosen people. Does not mean that they're better than anybody,
as really popular mis interpret misinterpretation is that, yeah, as
a misinterpretation of that idea of being God's chosen people.

(19:15):
The children of Israel are God's chosen people by promise,
because he made a promise to Abraham, whose son Jacob,
his name was changed by God to Israel. And it
says that his children will be like the sands of
the sea. And he told them that the Messiah would

(19:36):
come from his lineage, and all peoples of the earth
would be blessed through Abraham because of Abraham's to show
of faithfulness. And so God's fulfilling of his promise to
Abraham is why he chose the people of Israel. He
selected them to do a work, to do something that

(19:56):
means that they're special people because they better than everybody. No.
Chosen just means selected. So think of it like that
He's selected to do a certain thing to have a
promise brought through that generation. They were selected for a task.
That's a better interpretation of the idea that Jews were

(20:21):
his chosen people. And so it says the Book of
Matthew is for all people everywhere, And why was Matthew
written to show Jews that Jesus is the king and Messiah.
God had promised to sind to urge Jews to believe
in Jesus and follow him faithfully and really quickly. Lastly,

(20:41):
some main ideas Jesus's life and work fulfill old Testament
prophecies about the Messiah. Those are facts. Jesus has authority
as a teacher. Matthew recorded Jesus's teaching in five long messages.
Jesus is the king of the whole world. And then finally,

(21:01):
Jesus brought God's kingdom to earth, making it available for
you and me to bust through the gates. They wide open.
We can just strut through there, sanctified, set free from
our sins citisins of the Kingdom of God, because of

(21:21):
this man, the God Man, Jesus, Here we go Matthew,
Chapter one. This is a record of the ancestors of
Jesus the Messiah, a descendant of David and of Abraham.

(21:43):
Abraham was the father of Isaac. Isaac was the father
of Jacob. Jacob was the father of Judah and his brothers.
Very quickly, it is really important. So Judah is one
of eleven or or Judah had eleven brothers, So twelve

(22:06):
sons Judah is where we get the idea of Jews.
They're from the tribe of Judah. So that's very important
for you to remember as we go through this book.
Judah and his brothers. Judah was the father of Perez
and Zira, whose mother was Tamar. Perez was the father

(22:27):
of Hesron. Hesron was the father of Ram or Aram
Mecan the Old Testament, it was written in Aram and
Ram was the father of a Meniedab. A Menidab was
the father of Nashon. Naishon was the father of Salmon. Now,
before I go on with any of these genealogies, this

(22:49):
is really important because sometimes people can can let this slip,
this idea about why are we doing all this genealogy. Listen,
it's important to know where you can from. It's important
people are doing that nowadays that you can I'm not
doing it, and I ain't sending a DNA off to nobody,
but you can send your DNA off somewhere and they

(23:12):
can tell you where your people came from. They can
tell you what percentage of this you are, and that
you are, and these kind of things, and you can
find out through genetic study. They do for you. You pay
them a sum swap your cheek with a with a
with a cotton ball, and man, they can tell you
where you came from, and it possibly could do some

(23:33):
things for you, help you understand some things that you
didn't understand before. So this is what this is doing,
setting up all of these genealogies. This person came from
this person, and then it's letting you know how Jesus's line,
his family tree is set up. So here we go.

(23:53):
Verse five. Simono was the father of bo As, whose
mother was rayhabo As the father of Obed, whose name
was Ruth. Obed was the father of Jesse. Jesse was
the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon,
whose mother was bath Sheba, the widow of Uriah. Ooh none,

(24:20):
need pause. I want to pause right here. Uh I
just I just need to take a pause right here.
And just when I read this, I had to I
just question, why why would it throw shade on David

(24:42):
like that? Why? What? Like what we were going through genealogy.
It's it's like you're going through genealogy and you're talking
to people about your descendants and then oh, yeah, whose
mother was bath Sheba. It's like the Holy Spirit inspired them. Yeah,

(25:03):
make sure you write this down because we want people
to remember David and Bathsheba. That's how I felt. And
certainly David got nothing to say because you was wrong, bro,
You was wrong. With two left shoes floating down the river,

(25:26):
you wrong, was wrong. Wrong. When it comes to Bathsheba,
who was the widow of Uriah. Now something should make
you ask a question. Wait a minute, how you have
a son by somebody else's widow? Mm? Yeah? Oops? Because

(25:53):
see what happened was David was king back in that day,
and Uriah was one of his soldiers, and one day
David had had seen Euriah's wife. His wife's name was Bathsheba,
and David was like, wow, look at that. And David,
because of his authority and because of his lust, he

(26:22):
while Uriah was out at battle fighting for David's kingdom,
David slept with that man's wife and did then did
some dastardly things to try to cover it up, and
eventually had Euriah killed. You know this, this this gives

(26:46):
me pause to just focus on some of the dastardly
things that I've done in my past. And maybe you'll
sit back and and reminisce with me. Man, just some

(27:06):
of the sins that I have been forgiven for. And
David is like that, David's life brought glory to God
in the end. And then you also see that this
reminder right here, write here in the scriptures, the reminder
of something dastardly that he did. And it seems like

(27:28):
God didn't want him to forget because he made it
show up in the scriptures. Even at this point talking
about the Messiah, he says, Yeah, remember Bathsheba and the
woman that you consumed with your lust and your homie,
your man fifty grand, your first lieutenant. Somebody was faithful

(27:50):
to you. You used your power and your authority to
take his wife. And I think about mom sins and
some of the dastardly things that I did as a sinner,
and man, I'm just glad for God's forgiveness. And there's always

(28:10):
a price to pay. And this is why we read
the scriptures, because we want to really get a hold
of the power of the forgiveness that's available to us
in God's kingdom, like to be able to be forgiven
for that stuff you did. Shoot, man, that's why the
Bible says enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and enter

(28:33):
into his courts with what praise, be thankful under him
and bless his name. Man, when I start thinking about
all of the things that God forgave me for and
I don't have to pay the price, I have to
stand before the judge and be sentenced. What man, you
better clap your hands. All ye people shout unto God

(28:55):
with the voice of triumph. And I'm sure they were
to be one of them shouting with us on that
great day. Dastardly you know you was, You know you
was a dog in half, all kind of bones buried

(29:19):
and you want newbody to uncover. Mm hmm. Because of
the forgiveness that was made possible through Jesus Christ, our
lives have been changed and will no longer be judged

(29:40):
for those things, especially when you an authority and you
use your authority misusers of authority. There's a lot of
people that won't come to church, not right now anymore,
are done with church because of church because as some
pastor misused their authority and took advantage of that person.
Shame and a scandal. And I'm sorry if that happened

(30:01):
to you, it happened to me. Mm hmm. Sure did.
Could have run me away from Christ, a pastor that
I had faithfully served for six years seven years in
he went to my house when he knew I wasn't
home and made a pass at my wife. Sure did?

(30:24):
That happened to me. No need to name names, but
I can tell you this. God knows his name, God
knows what he did, and it shouldn't be a surprise
to many people that he didn't live long. I think

(30:49):
I think I am older now at fifty two then
what he lived to be. There's certain things that you
just can't do without being consequences, serious consequences. There are
serious consequences for David and what he did to Uriah
in Bathsheba, that child that was conceived during that adultery,

(31:11):
in that premeditated murder, That child died. And I'm sure
Bathsheba didn't have a great life after that. David used
his power and authority to tear their lives apart because
of his lust. And I'm sorry if that happened to
you in ministry, if there was a minister who used

(31:34):
his authority in your life and hurt you, I'm sorry,
and I want to tell you that I am living
proof that you can recover, and that there's grace and
mercy for you, and God will restore everything that was
stolen from you, and that in spite of God's person

(31:58):
being evil, I just want to remind you and encourage
you that God himself is good. HM. Let's continue Verse
six Matthew, Chapter one. Jesse was the father of King David,
and David was the father of Solomon, whose mother was

(32:20):
Bathsheba and whatever you Riah. Solomon was the father of Rehobom.
Ra Hoobam was the father of Abijah. Bijah was the
father of Asa. Asa was the father of Jehosapha. Jehovah.
Sat was the father of Jehoam. Jehorah was the father
of Usiah. Usiah was the father of Jotham. Jotham was

(32:41):
the father of ahaz Ahaz the father of Hezekiah. Hezekiah
was the father of Manassa, Manassa, man Hezekiah, and Manassa man.
You can go to the Old Testament and read about
Hezekiah and what kind of king was his son, Manassa,

(33:07):
Manassa Salang nasty Manassa m m m h. It's a
little preview. Manassa was the father of Ammon. Ammon was
the father of Josiah. Josiah the father of Jehoih and
his brothers born at the time of the exile to
Babylon and after Babylonian exile. Jehoah Kin was the father

(33:31):
of Shiatil. Shiatiel was the father of Zaruba Bell rube
Bel was the father of a Buyed a beard bad
name yep Dad went right there. Abid was the father
of Eliakim. Eliakim was the father of azor. Azor the
father of Zadok Zadok Salaga transformer or something robot. Zidak

(33:56):
was the father of Akim. Akim was the father of Eliah.
Elia was the father of Eliezar. Eliezar was the father
of Matthan. Matthan was the father of Jacob. Jacob was
the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Mary gave

(34:17):
birth to Jesus, who is called the Messiah. Now he
ran it all down there. The Holy Spirit said, write
this down, Matthew, write down all his genealogy so people
can understand how the Messiah came into existence, fulfilling the

(34:37):
promise given to Abraham that the Messiah will come through
your loins. That's why all of those genealogies are right there.
This person begat, that person began that pat hat, shat begat,
shoeshat and all that kind of stuff that you can't
read through through the Old Testament. This is why this
is important. I dare you to read the Book of

(34:58):
Numbers and maintain your sanity. Rebarb beget you, bar and rubarbiget,
free bar and free. Oh my lord, it's like fourteen
chapters of that. But these things are important because God
wants us to be able to see his faithfulness. And

(35:21):
why is that important to you? Well, because I'm here
to tell you that God is no respect of persons.
If God was faithful to Abraham, he will be faithful
to you. God will do what he said he will do.
He's not a man that he will lie, and he

(35:42):
was not born by man that he should have any
possibility or need to change his mind. He didn't make mistakes,
he didn't forget, and he's not incapable. Everything that God
has said to you that he will do to you
for you, it's going to happen. And he's showing you

(36:04):
right here through all of these genealogies. As we open
up the Book of Matthew, he said, listen, I may
promise to Abraham. This is how it was fulfilled. And
he says, I am the promise keeper. Is what these
genealogies say. There will be a Messiah who was born

(36:25):
unto man despite all the history and none know. Everything's crazy.
You had the flood and your original sin in the
garden of Eden, and like, all right, this is crazy.
It seemed like the world's going to hell in a
hand basket, and like nothing's gonna happen, Like God is
not gonna do anything. This is We're just gonna go
to hell. Nope, God's promise says, I'm coming for you.

(36:45):
I'm going to do for you what you cannot do
for yourself. I myself will provide a lamb. I will
provide myself a lamb sacrificing. All of your sins will
be upon him, and he will be sacrificed for you.

(37:06):
His blood will be presented before the throne of God
to wash away all the sins of mankind. This is
how it began, how God's promise was fulfilled. Noll theless
is tedious to read. I just want to give you
a why so you can make sure that when you

(37:26):
read through these you can make sure that you know
in your heart the why. This is a step by
step genealogy that shows you and me that God keeps
his promises Verse seventeen. All those listed above include fourteen

(37:55):
generations from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the
Babylonian exile, and fourteen from the Babylonian exile to the Messiah. Fourteen, fourteen,
and fourteen. That's thirty plus. That's forty two, forty two woo,

(38:18):
forty two branches in that tree. And now you know
why it's important because at this moment, now we're up
to the point where Mary is chosen by God to
bring forth a child, and this child is the Messiah.

(38:42):
Look at that word. Look it up yourself. It's weird word.
I'm gonna say it right now. You sound like I'm
spitting on the microphone. You should look up that word Messiah.
This is the Deliverer, God's anointed one, the the one
who was spoken of in time past, who would save

(39:05):
us from our sins. And here it is. All of
those years had passed when there was no word from God,
no prophets like what happened? Has God left us? And
then all of a sudden Mary shows up. Here we
go verse eighteen. This is how Jesus the Messiah was born.

(39:28):
His mother, Mary was engaged to be married to Joseph,
but before the marriage took place, while she was still
a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the
Holy Spirit. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, God's

(39:51):
ways don't need to make sense to you. It's like,
how what is going on? How does the Holy Spirit
get somebody pregnant? God? Because God is beyond us, he
is all powerful. He doesn't need to be doing things

(40:14):
that make sense to us. If He says you're pregnant,
then you're pregnant. Don't need a man. If God says
you are healed, then you are healed. If God says
you are delivered, like what we read in the Bible
reading today. If God says that you are delivered from
this trap that the enemy set for you, then you

(40:38):
are delivered. Justice system be darned. No weapon formed against
you shall prosper. When God says it, that settles it.
He is all powerful. And God said, Mary, you are pregnant,
and there she was Verse nineteen. Joseph, to whom she

(41:04):
was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want
to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement. Quietly.
As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared
to him in a dream, Joseph son of David. The
angel said, do not be afraid to take Mary as

(41:25):
your wife, for the child within her was conceived by
the Holy Spirit, and she will have a son, and
you are to name him Jesus, yesure, for he will
save his people from their sins. All of this occurred

(41:47):
to fill the Lord's message through his prophet, and he's
recounting the scriptures from old we call it the Old Testament.
He says, look, the virgin will conceive a child. She
will give birth to a son, and they will call
him em Manuel, which means God with us. When Joseph

(42:10):
woke up, he did as the Angel of the Lord
commanded and took Mary as his wife, but he did
not have sexual relations with her until her son was
born and Joseph named him, Yes, sure, Jesus. Joseph a

(42:33):
righteous man. And I think back in those days it
was definitely not a thing to go and sew your
wild oats. It was not you didn't do that. Sex
was definitely saved before marriage, and if it was found

(42:55):
out that you were not a virgin at your time
of marriage, you could be put away very publicly stoned.
This just depends. This is crazy times back in those
days where unfortunately women were not very highly valued. It
was just a culture. And thank god things have changed

(43:16):
now because all life is precious, all life, all life
is precious, and it was precious back then. It was
just the culture of these people and just how they
and that's how they rolled. And so this woman, he
was about to say, oh no, you got to go.
I can't have this on me and have people saying
this and that about me, and the angel shows up,

(43:38):
and you know, be careful about how much stock you
put into dreams. Not every dream is something that you
need to hold on to and try to find answers about.
But just understand sometimes God will speak to us through dreams.

(44:00):
You need to have some good wives counseling in your life.
And see what happened in the dream, and how do
you know? Okay, well, one of the things you can
know off to God's will on you doing something. Because
Joseph was about ready to put her away, and God says, hey, listen,
go talk to that boy, Go to him in his dream. Okay,
if you have a dream and it's something you feel

(44:20):
like you heard, the first thing you want to do
is what is the content? What were you told to do?
Just tell me that, and I can tell you whether
or not that was God's will, whether or not that
was God that spoke to you. Because sometimes, man, good Lord,
I'm glad that I am not responsible for everything that

(44:41):
I dream. Go ahead, go ahead and eat that double
bean burrito with extra onions before you go to bed.
Go ahead, see what kind of dreams you have. Go ahead,
chump it down, snuff it, scarf it down, big dog.
You're gonna be dreaming that you got fifteen growing out
your back and you the next track champion, and just

(45:06):
crazy stuff gonna happen. Don't trust your dreams completely, but
it's like, what is it the dream is telling you? Well,
the dream David or Joseph had was that your wife
is pregnant. And she's not pregnant by a man. She

(45:29):
didn't step out on you. No, she has been chosen.
She's highly favored. Do not put her away before that,
because that which is conceived in her is holy unto God.
And this is what you're gonna call his name. That's
a beautiful thing that God did with Joseph spoke to

(45:50):
him in a dream. Have some counsel in your life.
Sometimes God will speak to me a dream and of
some things that you need to know, because maybe you're
not listening, maybe not reading his words, so he can't
speak to you through his word. And God to speak
to you through a dream. Go call somebody that you
got confidence in who hears from God and tell me

(46:12):
about the dream. And based on the content, I can
tell you whether or not a dream came from God
or not, because you know God by his word and
God will never tell you to do something that's against
his word. And that's how you know. We compare everything
against the Word. That's why it's so important to study
the word of God. There is no knowing God without

(46:33):
knowing the Word. Thank God, Joseph, who was a righteous man,
listened to the Angel of God. And now here we
have before us em Manuel. His name is Jesus, he
is the Messiah. I hope you'll continue with me on

(46:55):
this journey through Matthew as we uncover the book of
Matthew and what God God revealed to us through his
servant Matthew, who wrote all of these things down, why
it's important and what it means to us today. And
this will transform your life because this is the greatest
story ever told and it is for you. Henry Flowers,

(47:20):
powerful living outreach ministries. Ain't going nowhere. I'm coming back.
