Empowerment sessions are not a church service—but are a service to the church. Our automobiles, homes, electronics and various other tools in our lives need maintenance, upgrades and repairs. Are we as a person any different? Empowerment Sessions are where believers get the opportunity to make the necessary corrections, adjustments and spiritual enhancements needed to be better equipped to live more powerful lives for Christ. Acts 1:8

Empowerment sessions offer the opportunity for one-on-one coaching, discipleship and self-improvement, in a confidential but very transparent group setting. Those who attend experience powerful personal sharing of life experiences and struggles which allows for all to defeat the lie of the enemy that says “you’re all alone in this”. You are not alone. You are just a few clicks away from your empowerment. You need to join us soon. When you begin to operate with power in EVERY area of your life, then you have achieved Powerful Living. Join your host, Henry Flowers, as we discover principles that produce the "rich and satisfying life" that Jesus said that He wants for us.

Let's also make strides in the area of teen pregnancy prevention. My book will help your teens avoid the dangers of excessive unsupervised idle time, which is the major cause of trouble for too many of our teens; and it will help them to move from where they are to living the life that they love. Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hello friends, Henry Flowers here Powerful Living Outreach Ministries coming
to you today with my first response video responding to
our brother's video Corey Miner. His brother is a great
teacher of the gospel. I love his channel being subscribed

(00:24):
for some time. He does some great things. Corey. I
love you man, You're doing some great things. And I
just had to respond here to this myth busted slash
debunked video that the brother had about tongues and you know,
the prayer language was the title, and so I had

(00:44):
to respond to this because obviously there's a whole bunch
of comments. Man, people blowing up the comments and going
all kind of crazy on it, and I just wanted
to respond to this. But listen, brother, my response is
not for the reasons that you think, So jump right
in and go ahead and hear what I have to say.
In response to Corey Miners from the Smart Christians podcast

(01:12):
in his mythbusted Prayer language video. So, if you want
to hit at me, airy code is five to one
three four zero four seven seven nine three Text me
if you want show ideas, contents, you got questions to
you want to hit me back, Invite me on your podcast.
And you want to be a guest on mine, we

(01:33):
can do that as well. Let me know. Powerful Living
twenty twenty two at gmail dot com is the email
address if you want to do it that way. Ten
thirty Ams every Sunday morning is when we get together.
I'll speak and share a few things I believe the
Lord has on my heart, and then afterward we have
an empowerment session. You want to be a part of
the empowerment sessions. It's a way for us to get together,

(01:55):
ask the church, chop it up, find out what it
is that you need to hear from God. It's a
way for you to get your deliverance that day to
make sure that you get what you need to hear,
work on something, overcome something, share testimony about something, and
transform people's lives in a powerful way. So we have
empowerment sessions after the ten thirty fellowship. So you can

(02:19):
find out more about that in the description box. And
I want to jump in because I don't want this
responsive video to be too long, So let's deal with
the myth busted thing. To my brother, Corey Minor, I'd
love for us to chop it up together. Maybe because
I know you've had guests on before Maybe we'll be

(02:39):
a guest. I'll be a guest on your podcast and
chop this something. My problem with the debunked of the
prayer language video was just mostly on a level where
it was just unclear. I love debate, and I love apologetics.
Is something that's near and dear to my heart. And
I definitely love studying the scriptures, and I love how

(03:02):
you're able to do what you do in helping us
understand the scriptures, and so I also know it's very
important for us to be unclear. I'm sorry, it's very
important for us to be clear when we're teachers, as
you've done as many times. Man, I love what you
had to say, you know, exposing false teachers too. I
try to do that as much as I can. But
you know, things as you've said about you know, Geno

(03:23):
Jennings and false teachers and the you know, how people
view the deity of Christ and does that hold you
out of heaven? You know? And then especially brother, you're
the teachings on everybody really needs to check this out
on his smart channel. The idea about suicide, does suicide
prevent a Christian from going to heaven? Is that the

(03:46):
unforgivable sin. I love the interview that you had with
the brother on that as well. These are very important
questions to be answering, and many of those in many
of those videos, Brother Corey has always been really clear
and concise. And for me on this one and the
myth busf the myth busted thing about prayer language, I

(04:06):
just left unclear and just almost confused. So let me
jump off and tell you why. So you opened up
the video talking about Miss Montgomery and her teaching, where
you played the Miss Montgomery video and then you said,
this is something that you said about her. You said, Corey,

(04:29):
you said, quote first of all, she said, and you
quoted her, I'm gonna pray that you get your prayer language.
And I said, okay, and then you but when you
play the video of her, like, we didn't see a

(04:53):
portion of the video where she actually said that that
s you said that. She said, Corey said that she said,
I'm gonna pray that God gives you your prayer language.
And then you showed a video clip of her saying
some things, but you didn't show the video clip of

(05:14):
her saying what you said she said. So that's to
the average Joe, I think would be a real open,
a missed opportunity. It speaks to credibility because if I
say what somebody says, I want to be able to
quote put quotes behind it, and also show you them

(05:36):
saying it. So for example, at your twenty four minute
and ten mark of your video where you begin to say,
the Holy Spirit gives these particular tongues quote unquote, Holy
Spirit gives these particular tongues. And that's really where the
confusion was because I wasn't sure with this idea of

(05:58):
myth busted. Because because for me debunked myth busted, that
whole thing goes along with deliferent facts and proofs. And
usually you know, if you watch myth Busters Busters, you
know you got a lot of science behind it. Those
guys get in there and a bunch of myths get proven.

(06:18):
So there's not room for many opinions, but they definitely
do things that heighten and strengthen their credibility. So the
credibility is really important there, and so we got to
be careful about these things. If I'm gonna say somebody
said something, I really want to make sure that I
put that video in place where they said it, because

(06:40):
if not, anybody can say, well, you're just saying she
said that, and just and that's what the things that
first threw me off that I noticed. And then so
there were a lot of straw Man arguments that you spent.
So probably not until like I felt like about twenty
two minutes in, did you actually begin to build a
case where you started debunking the myth about the idea

(07:01):
of the prayer language term that's not in the Bible.
And I wasn't sure whether that's all you wanted to
do in this particular video, or whether you're actually one
who is an anti tongues person and you're saying tongues
has passed or doesn't exist, or is not a thing

(07:24):
this whole praying in tongues. And I just wasn't sure.
It was just unclear. And so and I watched this twice,
so I just want you to know I did give
you due diligence to this, and so watching it twice,
and there were a couple of things. When I talk
about straw Man arguments, is just for everybody to know
who knows straw Man arguments are where you'll have a

(07:46):
topic that a person wants to discuss with you, and
the person who doesn't agree with you, they'll begin to
argue other things that are easier for them to tackle
and take down as opposed to stand on the subject matter.
The straw man argument. You raise a straw man because
the real man is a tougher opponent, So you raise

(08:06):
another argument that's easier for you to defeat. That's a
straw man. And so I felt like Cory the brother
Corey Miner, spent a little too much time on straw
man arguments. And let me give you a couple of examples.
These things are just left unclear. He talked about the
meaningless repetition and then referred to things as being gibberish

(08:29):
as far as when people speaking in tongues or as
they call it, praying in tongues, just that whole thing
where and you also mentioned Corey also mentioned the idea
of Jesus talking about praying and being alert. I just
wasn't convinced that all of those things were absolutely germane

(08:51):
to the whole topic of praying in tongues. Is it
a prayer language, because the whole meaningless thing if there's
a if there's a prayer language, that the Holy Spirit
inspires out of you, or praying in tongues or speaking
in tongues as the spirit gave them utterance. You know,
because you don't understand something, does that make it meaningless?

(09:15):
And this whole idea about gibberish, and you know you
talked about repetition. You know, I've heard people praying tongues
or speaking tongues and I get what you mean because
I usually I probably shouldn't do this, but sometimes I
mock the whole speaking in tongue things. Undela Bashanda, who
kicked Mahnda? Who kicked Mahanda? You know? The heat is sold,
so one time I bow tie. You know, you've been

(09:37):
in church situations where people just you feel like they're
faking it because they say the same things over it
over again. Uh. And I get that part. I just
don't know that that's a connection between that and when
Jesus was saying don't do meaningless prayers, because Jesus was
talking about the Pharisees and he was talking about their

(09:58):
attitudes where their prayers just vain. They're doing the same
prayers over and over again. There's no heart behind it
because there's no spirit behind them, and of course, you
remember that they were compared to being like dead men's
bones on the inside of them, they weren't actually believers.
So for me, that was a huge departure, and it
wasn't really as germane to the subject matter that you

(10:21):
said you were going to address here about the speaking
in tongues and its idea of busting a myth. So
that was some confusion for me. And this idea about
being alert, I just wasn't convinced. And you even mentioned that,
you said I could be wrong, but that just wasn't
convinced that your interpretation of the word being alert meant

(10:43):
praying and understanding the thing that you're praying. I just
felt that that was a really weak connection to draw
because for me, when I read that the idea of alert,
because remember, folks, these were the last days and there's
a great persecution of the church and people were being

(11:04):
hunted down for their faith in Jesus. They would call
them they were followers of the Way, and they were
in their upper room because they were running, they were scared.
Like it was a whole bunch of stuff going on.
It's persecution of a church going on, and so for me,
it feels like that's more of a fit. When he
speaks to being alert, he says, pray because you know

(11:25):
you have an enemy, and be alert, be watchful, and
so you know what to pray about, as opposed to
the alert being tied to and only to knowing what
you're praying. So for me, that was a little loose connection,
and it just leaves a lot of room for confusion

(11:48):
and this idea of you're saying you know things where
you said I believe and you said I could be wrong.
And that's the whole thing with the whole myth busting
thing debunked. Like those kind of things, even if you
watch you know, myth busters, they present facts and science

(12:10):
and you see the physics behind it, and you can
see it for yourself. So while they may express some
opinion on those things, you can see the facts and
the science showing up in real time. And so I
love you to have the kind of credibility that now
you've had in other areas. I love you to have
that in this context as well. Because I'm with you.

(12:34):
I definitely don't see this whole prayer language thing, just
like you know, there's a whole bunch of words in
the Bible that's not in there like rapture. You know,
it's a whole bunch of things that don't you know, Trinity,
or a whole bunch of things in the scripture that
don't show up but they're alluded to. And so those
are kind of things where we want to be clear
on those things and bring facts when we're trying to

(12:54):
suggest that something has been myth busted. And so I
think that's that's the gist of it for me in
this responsibility. And I wanted to keep this short because
I love for Corey minded or call me and contact me,
and I love to have a discussion where we could

(13:15):
put together a podcast where we could talk more about
this because these comments, bro, these people in the comments,
y'all listen, this is something that I want to address
to those people in the comments section. Y'all need to
stop that all of this foolishness y'all getting into, because
you're absolutely right, Corey man. You started messing with folkses

(13:36):
golden calves, messing with their pet peeves, inscriptions and stuff
that they believe is godly, and it's sometimes too many
times it turns out to be just a tradition of
men and it's okay to have tradition of men, but
just say it's that and don't try to add God's
authority behind your tradition. That's all. And so you people

(13:59):
in the common it's man, y'all going way overboard and
they're even and this may this, this part too speaks
to the idea about this whole content being a little
unclear because many people in the comments are arguing things.
Corey Booker is not arguing. You don't. We'll talk about
some straw man boy people really went on some other tangents,

(14:20):
people talking about the speaking in tongues is the devil's language.
Stop it. And then you have this radical fringe people
say stuff like that and say, you know you're not
saved if you don't speak in tongues. Stop it, y'all
stop that, bro. Listen, man, one of the things that
people need to grab a hole to. More and more
than that, y'all know, it's okay to disagree. It's okay

(14:44):
to disagree as believers in Christ on the non essentials.
Speaking in tongues is a non essential. Whether you water,
baptize fully, or sprinkle those things are not not essential.
And whether somebody gets baptized at all. Those are non
essentials because those things aren't pertinent to salvation. So those

(15:08):
those aren't what we call tenants of the faith T
E N E T S tenants of the faith. Those
aren't pillars that if you knock one and down, the
whole thing comes crumbling down. You know. The few things
that just come to mind as far as tenants of
the faith is that God far us who God is.
That God is eternally God. He was never born, he
was never He's never come into existence. He always has

(15:28):
been and always will be the eternal God. That's a
tenet of the faith. The resurrection, the actual physical and
bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. There's another thing that shows
up for me that will be a tenant of the faith.
Like if you don't believe that Jesus Christ actually and

(15:49):
physically rose from the dead in a physical body and
he was actually physically crucified in a real body, that's
a tenet of faith. That's something that we can't disagree
on that and may consider you a believer in Jesus Christ. Yeah,
but speaking in tongues, y'all stop it, y'all stop people

(16:09):
that got come on man, really speaking in tongues is
the devil's language. Stop it. This is y'all need to
stop that. All your people going crazy and in comments,
y'all need to be mature, because y'all do know that
every idle word that you speak will be judged by
that's right, believers, we will have a judgment, that's right,
and we'll be judged by every idle word that proceeds

(16:30):
out of our mouth according to the scriptures. And that
includes keystrokes. Yeah, key strokes, every idle keystroke that proceeds
from your iPhone, from your laptop, from whatever device. This
is communication from you, and God is going to judge

(16:52):
you by these things. And so we got to be
really careful that we don't unnecessarily divide each other and
that we become okay with people disagreeing on the non essentials,
the many non essentials, how you do church, and how
you want to play, whether you want to use music.
People make doctrines these things and they turned into idols. Man, y'all,

(17:15):
people need to stop idolizing tones. It's just weird, bro.
Stop idolizing your form of worship and your way of
doing things. Pentecostal or Baptists or Methodists or Episcopalia and
a Presbyterian like man. Listen, it's okay to disagree on
the non essentials, and that's very important for us to believe.

(17:36):
Talking to the people in the comment section, y'all be
doing the most and so many of us we need
to be careful that we don't become spiritual travel agents.
Bro spiritual travel agents. We send the devil on vacation
because we're doing his work. Oh yeah, we're creating skills

(18:00):
among the brethren, running people away from the body of Christ,
causing people to come into condemnation. That stuff we doing,
and the devil sitting back in Miami Beach in his
lawn share with glasses and an umbrella drink, laughing, enjoying
us doing his work. Stop that. We need to stop that.
And I'm talking to the people in the comments section.

(18:22):
Y'all needed to go back and read your comments before
you push sinned. Corey Minor is a brother in Christ
and he is not a false teacher because he don't
agree with you about tongues. Stop it. Don't be so insecure. Yeah,
he's spiritual travel agents. And then of course you know

(18:44):
people always well, he's just doing it for the money
because he said he was gonna cancel his channel. But
of course he's not gonna cancel the channel, but he
in it for the money. Man, I'm sure Corey did
not actually mean he was gonna cancel his channel. There's
this hyperbolic there's things that we do. We talk talk
like that. This is how we do as guys. But listen,
why you encourage about the idea of him canceling his channel.

(19:10):
Let's have that conversation. You supposed to be a believer
in Jesus Christ and you actually want him to cancel
his channel. Why is it just so he can keep
his word? How would the body of Christ benefit by
Corey Minor canceling his channel. I wonder whose side you

(19:31):
are on if you want to silence someone who is
a teacher of the gospel, HM, maybe you are not
one of us. And this whole idea like this is
almost getting old now, especially Corey Minor. If you hear
and the people talk about how you're doing it just
for the money, is why you won't cancel y'all channel?

(19:52):
How y'all know how much money he making and who's
got it? Which is amazing how people got a problem
with preachers when it comes to money that they have
a problem with nobody else. You got a problem with
nobody else making profit off of what they do. And
the scriptures clearly say Paul says, you do not muscle
the docks, the treads the corn. And they that live

(20:14):
by the gospel are those who preach the gospel. He says,
you should live by it like let the Lord provide
for you. And the people would give, And Paul talked
about and clearly mentioned people giving towards his ministry. When
Jesus was born, wise man brought gifts of gold, Franklinsons
and mirror. Why because he had places to go things.

(20:36):
Do you think it was just free to just travel
to Egypt and get away from Herod. Y'all need to
stop this foolishness accusing somebody of prophet wanting profit only
because he won't cancel his channel. Stop it. Corey Miner
is on our team, and we need more people preaching
the gospel, not fewer. And finally, I never want to

(21:01):
be the one who runs somebody away from the gospel
over this whole tongues thing. It's just weird, man. I'll
share with Corey minor. If you contact me, I'll share
your story about a young lady who ran up out
of our church over this situation about tongues. People praying
in tongues. It's just not right, you know, we don't
want to be tongues worshipers have this tongue fetish about

(21:24):
tongues tongues. But I'll said, the least of these gifts
is tongues. This is a spiritual gift, and I get it.
I got my own thoughts about it, but you know,
somebody can have their own experience and nobody is more
savor than you because they speak in tongues. M M.
So finally, Leman, wrap this up because I didn't really
mean for this video to be this long. And finally,

(21:44):
to Corey, you know, just you already know this Brother
is just really important for us to be clear when
we're teaching, and I think this video just different from
your other videos, just left a lot of room for uncertainty,
and just wanted to admolige you about this because you
already know. I think it's James Chapter three where we

(22:06):
were warned that not many of us should be wanting
to be a teacher because there's gonna be judgment for
us more than others. And so I admonish you to
keep on doing what you're doing and just make sure
because I want to know where you stand. I want
to know where you stand. There's a lot of people
who don't believe in tongues and people who's speaking tongues
and this kind of stuff, and this spirit gave them utterance.

(22:26):
And you actually said at one point you did say
the spirit gave them these things. They were getting an
unction as we call it, of the Holy Spirit. And
so I wanted to make sure that as teachers, you know,
we're always very clear, and especially on a subject like this,
Corey Minder, because you know, man, this is people's pet. Man,

(22:47):
these people don't play around when he comes to certain things.
And so I would say, with this thing, because you
know it's so important. You know, as teachers, wouldn't want
to offend them unnecessarily, Like Jesus alluded to has not
to unnecessarily offend them, go and do this is what
he said. And so there's a responsibility that we have
as believers to not offend people unnecessarily. So I just

(23:09):
I love you, brother, Corey, love to chat with you.
Maybe let's combine and collab on a podcast in this
subject or someone else, and we'll see what God says.
But brother, listen, keep on doing what you're doing. Don't
listen to Lord knows. I try to respond as many
comments as I can, but you know, people get crazy

(23:29):
in the comments and write stuff that they probably wouldn't
say to your face, Keyboard Warriors, But you know God
is going to judge all of us commenters and teachers.
Be careful, be wise, and be clear. Henry Flowers here
powerful living outreach ministries. I ain't going to where I'm

(23:51):
coming back.
