We want to get the five hundred subscribers this week
or this year. I mean, I ain't at if it
gets to this week, but you know, God can do
(00:24):
some great things, and you can do some great things.
So if we get the five hundred this week, and
it's fine, we can get the five under subscribers this week.
So make sure you share this over the YouTube airways.
If you want to look us up, it's at Powerful
Living twenty twenty two on YouTube and wherever you get
your podcasts. iHeartRadio, Apples, Spotify, look us up Powerful Living.
(00:46):
Put my name in there, Henry Flowers, if you want
to got some good things coming this year. But today
I'm not gonna lie to you today, I'm a little disappointed.
I got some things to share with you about my
great disappointment. I feel like God didn't show up for
me like I had asked him to, and I want
to talk about it today and let you know why
that might mean something to you and how it might
(01:07):
help you. So that's what we're going to get into today.
Make sure you turn on notifications on YouTube and subscribe
to this channel. Make sure you share it with your
friends if you want them to go from where they
are to living a powerful life in Jesus Christ and
join us afterward. The link for our empowerment sessions is
(01:32):
right there in the description box, so if you check
out the link. On Sunday mornings, we have our podcast
recording like I'm doing right now, but just understand, after
the podcast recording is done, we have what's called an
empowerment session. So at the empowerment session, just think one
on one coaching in a group setting, one on one
coaching with me or possibly somebody else some of our
(01:53):
zoomers might be able to coach you through something that
you're going through, or somebody in our facility. When we
begin to meet in person, Listen. The Body of Christ
is designed to be a one another scenario to where
we have all things coming and I don't need to
be the wisest person in the room because everything that
we need is in the room. You don't necessarily have
(02:15):
to come from me, but I just liked the idea
that when people came to Jesus, they came to get
what they needed. So the focus is not necessarily that
I have a powerful sermon that's designed to be just
what you need to hear. But no, you get to
bring your stuff and you could tell me, tell us
(02:37):
what you need to hear, tell us what you're going through,
share it with yourself. Many people have come in and
say it felt like a NA meeting or an AA meeting. Well, okay,
whatever you get out of it, that's fine, as long
as you get your transformation, as long as the shackles
break loose off of your life and you learn how
(02:58):
to be who you need to be in Christ Jesus,
powerful living is what we are after. So that's what's happening.
So check out the description box. Feel free to come
and join us. We're gonna meet soon. We'll let you
know when we have begun to meet in person, because
you'll see me not at my home studio right here,
you'll see us in our building at five six one
six Wolf Penn, Pleasant Hill Road in Milford, Ohio, just
(03:20):
outside of Cincinnati. Probably when we get to about five people,
not five people, about five families listen, I ain't gonna
be driving over there. I can tell you about how
mad I am at God right now from my home studio.
What I have in to drive twenty three minutes, get
all my kids in the car in the van, and
drive over there. I'm gonna tell you about my upset
(03:41):
right from here from this home studio. That's right. But
when we get to five families, I would say as
a good number, then we'll begin to meet in person.
So we'll record the podcast, have our empowerment session, and
can you imagine afterward we begin to get together and
sing some good songs, some of them good old church songs.
After you've gotten your deliverance and you've gotten a word
(04:03):
that you need maybe to help, the actual physical help
that you need. Yep, you can get that too, because
that's how we roll. We believe in helping people. We
believe in being the body of Christ. Got to go
help somebody today, and got to go help somebody move
into her apartment today. She just got blessed. She'd been oof,
she been through it, y'all. Ooh, and I've just been praying, Yeah,
(04:26):
I've been praying, but also been given real help to
her to help her through her tough situation. And today
I'm gonna grab my son, we're gonna go over there
and help her move into her new apartment. Yeah, the
body of Christ supposed to be helping each other, and
that's what the simbleship looks like.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
And so.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
That's what we're gonna do today. So as we help people,
we help each other and watch people go from where
they are to live in life that they love. And
we want you to join us. Call us if you
want to five one three four zero four seven seven
nine three, and you can reach us. Send us a
text message, send us an email, call us, leave a voicemail,
(05:09):
say hey, I want I need this, I wanna connect
with this, or I plan on coming here to meet
you out of there. Whatever it is. I finally got
that thing working. Every naw, it was dead. The battery
was dead. And I'll let you take a look at that.
All right, here we go. Yeah, so let's talk about it.
Let's talk about it today. I wanna tell you today
why I was, I don't know, a little frustrated with
(05:34):
an entire situation, a little so not really really angry
with God, cause I'm doing this a long time, you know,
I've been saved since I was twenty. I'll be fifty
two this year in April, so not necessarily a rookie
at this, but it definitely did have some frustrations that
many of us have, because there are times where you
(05:55):
ask God for something and then you just don't get it.
Talk to many people, especially sometimes I'll pick up a
passenger and I've done this many times. Somebody might be
an atheist or a non believer, and they say, well,
if God is all powerful, why does an he do this?
Or why doesn't he do that? Because he actually can.
(06:15):
If God is all powerful and sovereign and omnipresent and omnipotent,
and all them omnies you put in front of him,
how come he don't omni domini get stuff done? Why
them wildfire's burning? Why people losing their homes? Why people
getting killed on the subway and set on fire? Why
is Israel doing what they doing? And all these Palestinians dying?
Why is Palestine doing hamas? And why? Why? How come
(06:37):
God won't do it? Especially because he can? And you
want me to believe that he's a loving God. Is
how you present him, This is how he presents himself
in the Bible as a loving God. But he could
have done something, Why didn't he do something? Those are
real questions, and there are legitimate answers to those. Now
(07:00):
here's the thing. Many times a legitimate answer is not
received legitimately. The many times a legitimate answered is not
satisfying to that person because one could be that they
just don't want to believe. And there's certain people that
just don't want to live life according to God's rules
(07:22):
because really they want to live their own way and
want to live according to their own rules. And so
what I would do is I'll certainly try my best
to answer the questions because there are real answers to
those questions. But at the end of the day, once
they say what they got to say and still stay
where they stay, I just challenge them to admit you
just want to stay where you are. Why don't you
(07:44):
just admit that instead of coming across with a whole
bunch of questions and trying to catch somebody in something.
What if Bible contradicts itself to and it's impossible? You
did you realize it's literally impossible for the Bible to
contradict itself. I'm going I know where I'm going today.
I'm talking to you about why I'm a little frustrated
about a situation and it had something to do with God,
because you know, you feel like God could do something
(08:06):
and he didn't. But people use these events and these
happenings or these non happenings just to discredit God. It's
just the arrogance of man. Because something didn't happen the
way we wanted it to happen, we use that as
an indictment against God, the arrogance of man. That with
(08:37):
the idea that we know just like you know, it
is your children when it was teenagers. They know what
you as a parent should have been doing and why
you ain't do this and you should have gotten me
that and blah blah blah blah blah, you should allow
me to do this. And they are convinced that you
are the worst person in the world because you won't
let them do what they want to do. But there's
(09:00):
a whole lot of things that they don't know that
you do know that you're protecting them from. They just
thinking about this. You tryna protect them from all that
cause they ain't thinking about it. They don't even know it.
And to use those things to discredit you and to
talk about how their childhood was so bad. And so
people do the same thing to God. So don't feel bad.
People use things to discredit God, and they use things
(09:21):
that discredit the scriptures. All the Bible contradicts itself. Let
me tell you real, simply, h why it's impossible for
the Bible to contradict itself. So I know, we say
the the Bible, and it is a translation of a
word that means book, the book. But here's why it's
really impossible for the Bible to trans to to it's
Here's why it's really impossible for the Bible to contradict
(09:43):
itself because the Bible is not a book. M the
Bible is not a book. I can contradict myself. I
can start off making a statement and then at the
end of my presentation, I can say something that is
contrary contradiction, is contrary to what I said before. So
(10:03):
I can contradict myself because I am a self myself.
But if somebody says the Bible contradicted itself, it's literally
an impossibility because the Bible is not a book. The
Bible is a book of books. Is a better way
to say it. The Bible is a compilation of historical
(10:24):
documents that people wrote all kinds of different people, from
all kinds of different walks of life, over all kinds
of periods of time. Bro, Like we talk in an
expanse of time. If you take all of the books
and set it up on a timeline chronologically, this is
a huge expanse of time. And people who didn't know
(10:47):
each other, people who didn't even speak the same language,
weren't in the same area. This person was in Egypt,
this person was over here. That's Alonnika, Krimth and Jerusalem
and Judad, like all of this stuff. Man was happening,
and people wrote things down, and so this person says this,
and this person says that, But they're looking at the
(11:07):
same event happening, and they see that as a contradiction. Well,
just don't just understand that a contradiction can often be
confused with a difference in perspective. Yeah, you got five
different people looking at what Jesus was doing. But guess
what it's like looking into a house from five different windows.
(11:31):
You looking into the same house. But if you look
in the house from five different windows, you're gonna see
five different things. Those aren't contradictions, they're different perspectives. And
that's something that you really need to remember and think
about if you're somebody who's a seeker, because like I said,
somebody who's just mad at life and mad at the
way things are going and just mad at God and
(11:52):
using that to blame God and indictment against God's character,
they're just not a seeker. That's what's called a skeptic.
And it's very easy for us to get to the place,
especially with the arrogance of man, and we get to
the place that when things don't go our way, we
want to blame God and use it to bring down
bring down God's character or his righteousness or his loving attributes,
(12:20):
and all that stuff is silly, and we sound trifling
and immature, just as immature as your teenager sounded when
they was challenging you, when there was a teenager living
in your house, breathing your air, eating your food. Right,
zooms An, wait till I get eighteen, so I can
do whatever I want to do when I want to
do it. And what happened when they turn eighteen? They
(12:44):
flew out.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
That joke, and boy, they got out there and did
whatever they wanted to do, whenever they wanted to do
it as much as they could, and life was waiting
on them.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Life was waiting on day behind. And some of them
flew day behind right on back.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
Some of them flew day behind right on back to
the crib. Yes, you're absolutely right. Jay has a reality
that comes with said freedom. It's called life.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
And man, they learn and we do the same thing
because Godden sure God is laughing at us. And I'm
sure God was smiling at me when I was frustrated
as I had ever been on this past Friday. And
I think the only reason that I didn't get to
(13:50):
the point where I started blaming God for something I
actually getting angry with God was because I've been doing
this for a long time, been saved about thirty years,
and so I know more now that I knew back then.
So when me and my wife and her family we
all at the Indiana Pacers game, to which we drive
(14:13):
almost two hours into snow, and I'm not sure how
many thousands of dollars were spent by all of us
combined for these hotel rooms. About what is about eleven
of us, twelve US, twelve of us going down to
this Indiana Pacers game because my mother in law, Adrian's mom,
(14:40):
is ninety years old. She has stage four cancer and
the doctor said, there's not much else we can do
for you. She's at that stage. And so on her
bucket list, one of the things is that I want
to watch my man Steph Curry play. I want to
(15:00):
see Steph Curry play. So she made it happen, and
we made it happen, and all of us down there
a caravan and some people drove from Columbus and Dayton, Chicago.
Like we on the road. We drove from Cincinnati. We
on the road. We're showing up. We there we in
the arena. Tip off, man, No Steph Curry, tip off,
(15:30):
No Steph Curry, no Draymond. Look at it, man, some
of my zoomers put your name on the roster. You
could have started for that roster, and nobody would have
been none the wiser for the Golden State Warriors because
nobody would have known your name, just as much as
we didn't know the name of the people that was
playing basketball for the Golden State Warriors that day. Insert
(15:51):
your name and it would have been the same. Yeah,
we find out, no Steph no Draymond, no nothing playing,
And we looking at him. He right over there in
his black coat and black pants and black shoes, jumped
(16:14):
out on the court and made a little layup with
his little strap around his hand. I guess he was
out resting into something injured, in knee or whatever, got
his little hand wrapped up. And I understand people getting injured.
I'm standing, but you wasn't injured in Detroit the night before.
Why why you injured out? You didn't get injured in
(16:38):
the Detroit game that we know of. It didn't happen
in Getting the day. What happened? What had happened? Why
everybody got arrest Now we go, Oh, the Indiana Pacers
fans don't need to don't need to see Steph Curry play. Really,
you only going to Indiana one time this year? Out
of all these seventy something eighty some games, you can't play.
(16:59):
We don't get to Steph, not for a quarter, not
for half. His mama don't get to see her bucket
lists fulfilled, all them hours, all them thousands of dollars,
all them hotel rooms and expensive restaurants and all that stuff.
And no Steph Curry, he right there sitting on the
bench watching the game, just like us resting. They didn't
rest them ticket prices. We ain't get no rest from that. Hey,
(17:28):
it was a whole lot less money on the court
for the Golden State Warriors, but it wasn't no whole
lot less money for us for them tickets. And I
don't understand it. And we've had this happen from time
to time many people, sports writers and broadcast journalists and
everybody has said their peace about it, and upset and
fans get upset, man and Twitter went crazy and Facebook
(17:50):
and everybody posted this stuff online and all that kind
of stuff. Everybody mad. We wasn't the only ones mad.
But here's what it turns out out. Really just basically
as you look at it, between the owners or the
coaches or GMS or somebody, the bottom line is they
don't care. They don't care how mad you are, because
(18:13):
they know that they have the advantage. You got to
buy them tickets early and you get no refund and
they don't have to play their players if they don't
want to for whatever reason, and they don't have to
tell you, and they will have to apologize because you're
gonna keep on coming back and you're gonna keep on
(18:34):
giving them your money, and you're gonna be disappointed and
do your little stuff online and make your little noise,
but the bottom line is not gonna impact them.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Now.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Honestly, have a little frustrated. I wanted to do that
for my mama. We had been bombarding them for the
past three weeks or so, right on emails and Instagram
and all these other kind of grams, and it's just out, Hey,
Steph is cancer patient, wants to see Steph Curry play
like we did the whole thing. Man just bombar every
(19:07):
day and I say, you contact the Curry's cut Steph
Curry ayieshad the daughter, all that stuff. We was going
at it for like three weeks or more. No response,
and we ain't mad at Steph. I ain't mad at Steph,
but you know, mad at the situation. We wanted to
see him play. We pay to see them play. You
(19:34):
got any more ticket sales have happened for the Golden
State Warriors since that young, light skinned, skinny brother from Akron,
Ohio Davidson College got drafted, changed the face of a
franchise with one draft pick, and we just wanted to
see him play. And not even for my sake, for
(19:55):
my mother's sake. So I'm sitting there, it's halftime, and
I'm frustrated, and I'm like, man, we did a lot
of stuff to make this happen for my mama, and
she's sitting there mostly enjoying herself. Still. You know, she's nineties.
She more mature than to be throwing them temper tantrum.
But I'm a little frustrated for her. We wanted to
make this happen. And my wife looked at me and
(20:17):
he said, hey, baby, why don't you go do your thing?
I said, what are you talking about? Go do your thing,
like you know how to talk to people, and like,
go talk to somebody out there, go find out who
can do what and see if somebody can make it happen,
and blah blah blah blah blah. And she went in,
went in, and she was all telling all the truth,
like all this stuff that is true about me, and
now I can do and I have done and done
in the past, and go do it. Baby. I'm sitting there, like, really, really,
(20:45):
you gonna do me like that? Now here's the spot
she put me in. And she ain't mean no harm.
This is just stuff she don't think about, but just said.
In half a second, a thousand thoughts flashed through my mind,
and here was the thought. It's not that she put
me on the spot, but she put me in a
(21:10):
must act situation. Because let's just say I chose not
to go and do my thing and go talk to
people and go find out and go figure something. I'll
try to make something happen. Let's just say I sat
there and and watched the rest of the game and
actually did not do that. How many know? In my mind,
(21:33):
I would never live that down because there would always
be a what if, right z Homers, There would always
have been a what if I'm sitting there and listening
to the rest of the game and for the rest
of those days, if nothing had happened that I thought
(21:55):
was possible that I could make happen, that she thought
was possible that I could make happen, that would always
be in my mind. If I had sat there, so
I had to do something. I had to And yes,
one of my zoomers, what is happening with my zoom thing?
How did this picture pop up? I don't know what
(22:17):
that is. There was a picture that just popped up here. Yeah,
she obviously did have confidence in her husband. And one
of my zoomers is chiming, and there it is. Okay,
I don't know why did all of this pop up?
Did y'all work with me here for a second, I'm
coming back. It's it's just a pop up, but it
took over everything later later boom, Okay, there it is,
(22:40):
okay cool. And so I had a I'm in this position,
and you right, she had confidence in me be cause
and she right. And so so I'm here and I
got to do it. I got to go out and
do something. And so I got up because I couldn't
sit there cause I wasn't really enjoying the game anyway.
Like I said, D D A J J. Jason, you
could have put your name on one of them jerseys
and I would have known you no more than I
(23:02):
would have known them people on that court. And the
end of that Paceers was getting it, man, they had
their peoples out there. They was getting it. You won
the game pretty convincingly. But so we sitting here not
really enjoying the game anyway. So I so I jump
up and not go and from halftime until the game
(23:24):
was over, so I guess that's about an hours something
like that. I just went out there and did my thing,
started talking to people, telling the story. Who can make
this happen? Bro, Hey, listen, my mom came here for
a bucket list. Y'all see what's happening. Who does somebody? Oh? Man,
(23:46):
Steph Curry Man, you man, you man? You asking for
a miracle?
Speaker 3 (23:50):
Man?
Speaker 1 (23:50):
You just say, yeah, yeah, I am who can make
it happens. There's times where a miracle shows up, but
it's like sometimes it's dependent upon the faith of the
person who wants to see the miracle happen. Jesus moving
(24:12):
around through these places, and he says. The scriptures record
that he did know miracles in that city because of
their lack of faith. They knew him from a child.
There's all this Joseph's son, Messiah man. That baby was
over there throwing marbles down the street and breaking folks's
window when he was two years old. What is this
(24:33):
Messiah boy? He say, and have faith? And when what
he had become and who he was, they just remember
who he used to be and all this kind of stuff.
And so there was a whole difference in what was
possible in those cities because of their lack of faith.
And you see that in the scriptures. Sometimes it's your faith,
(24:56):
and it also has to be especially when you talk
about healing. People talk about miracles, people have these gift
of healings. And I got into a debate one time
and well, while I was there with her husband doing
some recording in the studio, and his wife came down
there and we got into this conversation and I just
told her, I said, there's no formula for healing. You're
gonna read descriptions and see where people lay hands on
the sick and they shall recover, and that's what the
(25:17):
scripture says. But there's no formula. Sometimes God does it
and sometimes he doesn't. And she got all up in
arms and its all stiff neck and stuff. She's talked
talking out loud. She said, there is a formula And
I said, well, okay, well it's great, show me tell
me where is it in the scriptures? And this and
this and this. I said, I hear all that you're saying,
but I'm saying the scriptures though in the Bible, well
(25:42):
you see this happening, You see this and this, and
God said this and look cut, but show me descriptions,
show me the formula in the scripture. So this here,
this right here at the scriptures, the whole bunch of
ideas and stuff. Those are great, but at some point
when we were talking about doctrine and theology and how
how to have God show up, I need I need
you to show me in the scripture. It's just show
me this is where the formula is. Because if you
(26:04):
can figure out a formula on how to heal people
and people get healed every time, this is what happens.
This is what you do, and this is how people
get healed. Okay, great, let's go because me and you,
once you show me the formula, we're gonna be at
Children's hospital seven days a week and we're gonna be
healing people and they're gonna recover if there's a formula
(26:28):
like that. See, this is what we don't like. As
I'm sitting there walking through this facility, this stadium, and
I'm meeting people and talking to people and pounding people
and harassing people, and my feet are aching, my knees
are aching, man, and I'm sitting here getting a little
frustrated because listen, I know God can do a miracle,
(26:51):
but see what this is. What we don't like. The
part that frustrates us is that God is sovereign. God
is sovereign. He knows and we don't. Yes, it's absolutely
a fact. God could speak to Steph Curry while he's
(27:15):
sitting here behind on that court, and God could say,
go here, and there's a man and a gray hat
and a gray sweater waiting on you go and speak
to him. Don't you know? God can do that. But
guess what he didn't, because I said right out there,
(27:35):
he even got to the point when I did get tired.
I said, right out there, I said, right up on
the number seven. There was a little plaque on the top.
I said, Lord, I'm sitting here, right up on the
number seven. The seven is the number of completion, the
number of completion, all the number of completion. Lord, that's it, Lord,
I was sitting up under this number seven. And you
speak to Curry and tell him to come up here
(27:56):
and see the man with the gray hat and a
gray sweater sitting up under the I'm a seven. There's
something that needs to be completed in that life. What
that sounds like a god thing? Man? And I was
sitting there, I was sitting there. I just kept on
sitting there, kept on sitting there. Let's just say I'm
(28:16):
glad I ain't hold my breath because what could have
happened didn't happen. And in that situation, there's a real
sense that you can get started getting frustrated because God
has not giving you what you want and you know
he can, and you frustrated, and it's easy to start
(28:38):
blaming God. But we got to just grab a hold
of this idea that God is sovereign that we are not.
Sometimes he does it and sometimes he doesn't. We don't
know why, and that we're okay with that, and that
you're okay with saying, you know what, I don't know
(29:00):
why God heals certain people and why he doesn't I
don't know. This is Cincinnati Children's Hospital of Cincinnati is
world renowned. People come here from all over the world
to get the best treatment, goods. What is the Jewish
Hospital is worldver Now people come from all overly like
(29:23):
these hospitals here, like people come and many times people
get healed in a powerful way. Many times people get
healed and doctors can't explain it. And you know what
happens a whole lot more than those happen. People die,
and people don't get healed, and the frustration with God grows,
(29:49):
and many people use these events and these happenings to
blame God. And so I would say to the atheists, listen,
you question God about why somebody didn't get healed or
why this evil thing happen. How come you're not praising
God when the good things happen. You know why you don't,
because you're a skeptic. You just look for reason to
blame God. You just look for reading to be mad
(30:11):
because God didn't do what you know he could do.
You would like me waiting on Steph Curry's handler or
somebody who knows Steph to come on up there and
see me sitting up under that number seven, or see
me walking. God could have spoke to one of his
handlers and one of his people say, go meet this
man out there. He got in you. There's an assignment
that you have in his life.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
God.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
I'm out there telling the story. Man. My mom has
terminal cancer. Bro, she wants to see Steph. This is
the dang we drove here from Cincinnati. I'm telling folks,
I'm marching design beautiful, beautiful, Zion. I'm going to the
City of God where God is supposed to meet, and
God didn't meet me there. The only curry I ran
(30:55):
into was the chicken curry rice that they were serving
behind one of the counters. That was all, yeah, man,
And so you're frustrated, and I get the frustration. But
just understand that God knows and we don't, and just
(31:15):
rest with that. That's all. Just rest with it. I
put up the Bible app, and not necessarily having a
I don't know, not necessarily having a scripture to read today,
but I did open up my Bible app today. This
is good. If you have the Bible app, it's free
(31:38):
for your phone. Just go to the app store. If
you don't have it, just look up Holy Bible and
it's the one with the brown Bible with the light
colored Holy Bible written on it. I think it says
Life Church Dot TV or something like that on it
as well. The developer free app down on it to
your phone. It's got all this stuff. So I put
in the devotional and I just put in the search
(32:03):
box and I found a really good plan to read through.
And the plan is, let me see what I put
in the search box. When God doesn't give you what
you want. When God doesn't give you what you want,
(32:26):
is what I searched and unanswered prayers right came up,
and so this is what's happening here with this and
this plan. Let me look at this plan. And so
I stumbled through and then it take long and I
got this plan right here, even if when God says no,
(32:47):
this is a really good plan. I read through the
first devotion. I'm I read this and I want to share
this with you because this is how you get to
know the answers to these questions that we may have.
There's gonna be some people that come in contact with you,
and especially were talking about disciples and living a powerful
life for other people, and people gonna have questions, Bro,
how come this happened? How come that happened? If God
(33:10):
is so loving? Why this you prayed for it? God
could have done that. God could put the wildfires out.
Why doesn't he do it? Well? Maybe for the same
reason I didn't get to meet Steph Curry that day
for my mama. He wasn't even something I was answering
for me. I wouldn't have went fanboy on Steph if
(33:33):
I'd have met one of his handlers. I wouldn't have
been fanboy and went off crazy because I knew that
wasn't for me. I wasn't doing that for me. I'm like, hey, person,
you need to be He's right here. Yet we're the
ones that was bombarding you all month on social media. Yep,
that was us here, She is right here. Come on,
come on, come on, come on, come on, yep, come
this way. Ain't no telling her what was in the
mix and why God didn't allow it to happen. I
(33:55):
don't know, but I know I prayed about it, and
I knew that I was in that hallway active my faith.
Whatever that means and whatever you think it means. Like
I want to get into a whole thing about that.
And I called spooky as if there's something you got
to do, hold your hands like dragon ball z. We
try to fuse it. You got to strike the polls. Yeah,
(34:16):
I say the word. You got to be in the
right position. And no, man, brother, God ain't like that.
It's faith. I have faith that he can do it,
and I also trust him in love of him enough
that says even if he doesn't, Yeah, don't get me
started on that. So here's the devotional. I want to
share this with you. This is by let me get
(34:37):
this brother's name, because this is a really good one
to share. Let's see here, let's go to plan info
on this devotion. Even if when God says no, so
here we go. God will test you in the areas
most important to you. The test is to reveal whether
you value Him or the things He can do for
(35:01):
you the most. How do you handle it when you
don't get the answer to your prayers that you wanted.
This devotional will develop. And even if relationship with God
and this devotion was developed by my man Jason Grubs,
we'd like to thank Jason Grubs for providing this plan.
For more information, visit link t R dot ee backslash
(35:29):
ja y g r U b Z J Grubs. That's
him and I read just the first portion of it
here in this devotional. Most of us has been there.
Day one is what now? Most of us have been there.
You wanted something so bad but it didn't happen. You
prayed on it, you were patient, you fasted, you waited.
(35:50):
Maybe you even felt like it was meant to be.
I felt like it was meant to be, going down there,
driving all that way, Mom in law, bucket lists ninety
years old may not be here much longer. Like it
happens all the time for other people. You hear stories.
We heard story last week about Steph meeting somebody making
(36:11):
their dreams come true. Ronie McDonald house, make people dreams
come true? What's the Disney thing? Make a wish Foundation?
Make man? You be seeing it on TV and it's like, okay,
this story is like one of those, and possibly even
more powerful. Where you at, Steph, where your handlers at.
I'm in the hallway busting it down, got my Tams
on listen. Times is nice and they look good and
(36:32):
sometimes they're comfortable. But Tams walking through a stadium pounding
that pavement for an hour and at fifty one, that
ain't the best life. I'm gonna just tell you that.
Ain't you living your best life? You just trust believing me? Okay,
So here we go. I'm out there and I said, look, man,
(36:52):
this thing can happen. It's happened for other people, and
so he says, but it still didn't happen. So what now?
First you have to settle something in your heart and mind.
God is good. Is that settled in your mind to
the point where you haven't. Even if he does an
attitude about God, God is good. And even if he doesn't,
(37:20):
God is good. You know what I'm learning more and
more that God is not a vending machine. You don't
get to put the right amount of whatever end and
then just push a button about what you want and
then it just comes out. God is not a vending machine.
(37:43):
It no't matter how many good plans you have for
what you gonna do with the powerball money. You got
it written now, man, if nothing else, you got it
written on the pages of your heart. Man, you got
the a I'm gonna do this, and I'm gonna do
that my mama, and I'm gonna get june Bug. I'm
gonna definitely take care of Junie Bug, because you know,
(38:03):
june Bug been looking out for me for a long time.
Me and june Bug gonna make it right. I'm gonna
make it right with june Bug. And then you're gonna
do this and that. Man. Listen, you spend your rent
money on that power ball if you want to, and
you might win it. You might, but that don't mean
God made you win it. And when you didn't win it,
(38:25):
that don't mean God stopped you from winning it. I'm
just ain't God not a vending machine like that. God
is good and he knows if it's good for you
to not win that power ball. He knows, because God
knows better than you know how far you might drift
away from him with seventy million kajillion stupid dollars up
(38:48):
in your bank account. You know that your thoughts about
him could go as far as the east is from
the west when you win that million dollar. God knows.
And whether he does it or not, God is good
and that's where you should rest that God is good
(39:10):
and God is sovereign. He was absolutely in control of everything,
and yes, he's good. Yes, I was sitting up there
mad and disappointed that Steph Curry is in the building,
like he's right there. Did I bring binoculars? That brought
two pair? I wanted to make sure mama and I
had one. My mama had one and I had one
(39:31):
up there with me, and we was looking in the binoculars.
Saw Steve curR and his little flushed face getting on
mad and got himself a little technical fire because something
happened and he had like, well, guess what you just
did something that we ain't had like resting your players,
seeing him right there on the floor. And I'm sitting
(39:57):
here running from the cops because I went through the
wrong door. Authorized. Whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop. Intruder alert, danger,
Will Robinson Danger, I'm running in here. They come mall cop, whoops.
I guess it wasn't authorized, man, it was some big
fellows back there. You do not come in here, you man.
(40:20):
We don't care who got what and why you're here,
how far you came from. You don't come in here.
God did not open that door for me, literally, boy.
And so God is good and I didn't get what
I wanted, and I was disappointed sitting back and felt
bad from a mom in law. So what now, brother Buck,
(40:45):
brother says here, first, you have to settle something in
your heart and mind. God is good. You may never
know why you didn't get what you wanted. You may
have done all the right things and still come up short.
But God is good. You may never understand how, but
God has taken care of you despite the pain of
the circumstances. It's definitely possible that God was taking care
(41:07):
of us in not meeting Steph that night. And that
my mother in law didn't get to meet him that night.
It's possible that he's setting it up for something else,
something later, because you know, God is god like. Just
because he doesn't show up and do something your way
(41:28):
or one way that you thought it should happen, doesn't
mean that he ain't gonna make it happen. Oh, Jesus,
if you had been here, Lazarus would not have died. Yeah,
it's true. Jesus could have been there on time for
Lazarus to not die. But Jesus said to her, listen,
(41:51):
I am the resurrection. Do you believe in that? Well?
I know I believe in the resurrection. I know he'll
raise one day on the final day. In judgment, Jesus says,
I am it. Eternal life is in me and is
at my very command. What's wrong with you? People? And
(42:13):
he kicked them out of here because of they lack
of faith. Get out of here. Some people he was
about to heal somebody she was already dead, and they
was like, oh, she's already dead. And we talking about
don't go in there after lives or if you've been
there a couple of days. This body's thinking. But now Jesus,
don't go in there. He said, Man, if y'all don't
get out of here, get out, get them all out
of here, which a lack of faith themselves. What happened
to your word of faith the people you're speaking the word?
(42:35):
Or happened to the word of faith? The word of
faith show up when stuff started being dead and stinking
around you? Where the word of faith?
Speaker 3 (42:42):
That?
Speaker 1 (42:43):
Then? See, that's what God don't depend on us with
his power. They don't trust us with his power because
we flaky as a head full of dandruff. We flaky man.
We pick and choose times when we want to be
super faithy. And Jesus says, if you believe in me,
(43:06):
Lazarus shall live. I know you want to be be
here two years ago and heal him from the sickness.
I know you want to be to be here two
days ago, but I'm here now. Well he did already.
And I know I wanted to for Mama to meet
Steph that night, and he was right there, right there.
(43:31):
He was right there. Lord, you could have done something,
But that doesn't mean God won't do something. Don't you
know that Steph and his folks could fly us all
out to California for a Golden State Warriors home game,
pay for everything and meet Mama on the court or
(43:59):
in his room or in his space or wherever. That
dream can still become reality for her. And it may
or may not have anything at all to do with God.
There's another answer. Well, well, God could have done this,
and Jesus God done the law people, And why didn't
God do it? God could have done it. Why didn't
(44:20):
you do it? Why didn't you do it? Why didn't
you prevent somebody from dying? It's somebody that died in
your neighborhood last night. How come you didn't stand out
on a corner with your shotgun and be in the
safety patrol. You could prevent some stuff. Well, I'm not God,
but you are you? God didn't have to get involved.
(44:41):
Steph could have been dated. Jeff coulda say, Hey, I'm
here in Indianapolis. I'm sorry I didn't play. I'm gonna
set up a boo for y'all to come meet me.
And we would have waited. No matter how long it took,
I'd have held mama place. If it took fourteen hours,
I'd have held her place. Dog on right could he
could have done that anything necessarily need God to get involved. People,
(45:07):
we're supposed to be His hands and feet. There's something
that God's been telling you to do, and you waiting
on God to do it, and God's in there waiting
on you. Well, I just don't feel lad to do it.
Feel lad? He already told you what to do. Go
(45:28):
therefore and make disciples of all men. Go and do
good to your neighbor. Be good, do good as much
as you can. And so many times before we reflect
and get mad at God on something. Sometimes we got
to look in the mirror and reflect on ourselves. How
(45:52):
many good things were available for you to do and
you didn't. Should we all be mad at you? You
know how you do? When you had that stop signing,
You see that man with that sign, you know you
see him with that sign, and you gripping a hold
(46:14):
of that sneer. Well then you got the death stare
in front of you. You ain't moving, you trying to
act like you don't see them and like they don't exist. Man,
you don't even wanna make eye contact. You can't wait
for that light. That's Earn Green counting it down. He says,
first settle, if you have to cry or scream and
(46:35):
yell get it all out. You might as well get
it all out, because holding it ain't gonna do nothing.
Letting it all out I ain't gonna do nothing other
than release pressure. Ain't gonna move God. But he says,
let God know exactly how you feel. He knows anyway,
but he values the relationship between you two, and he
wants to hear from you, telling you mad, I can
(46:57):
promise you I had a frustrate I had a conversation
with God about my frustrations right there at the center
when I started resting my puppies, lugging them, thams around,
resting my puppies, my knees and feet throbbing. After about
an hour walking on those floor, I was frustrated running
from folk. Whoops man. He told him all about it too,
(47:24):
and guess what, that did not change anything. We still
drove right on the bout of it the next day and
not meeting's death. He says, tell them all up you
set you are and why, and then thank him for
his goodness. Praise him that he is holy and that
he is good and he loves you so very much.
(47:44):
Thank him for the fact that he is able to
work things out that you cannot see. Doesn't that sound
like the right thing to do? And it's like my
daughter coming back after all these years when she was sixteen,
couldn't wait to get out of the house, do it
if she want to do Whenever she won't do it,
and she thinks I'm the big bad dad that don't
want her to have nothing. And now she can be
(48:08):
twenty nine years old next year, and just amazing how
I have become extremely wise in her eyes talking to
me about how life is and repeating some of the
things now that I said to her way back in
the day. Tell me how you feel. Absolutely, be frustrated,
(48:30):
but just understand I know things that you don't know
as your parent. God assigned me to be your parent.
That is his assignment, absolutely, And there are certain things
that you're a teenager rebellious and not frustrated and not
doing the things that you tell them not to do,
and not trust me. They coming back. They're coming back,
(48:50):
and when they're coming back and they tell you how
much they made a mistake, just welcome them with open
arms and just greet them. They went on out there
and bumped their head and wagh that you told him
not to do. Don't tell him I told you so.
Just hand him some ice. You do the same thing
blaming God for stuff. You want stuff, and God don't
(49:12):
make it happen, and now you mad stop it. You
celebrate God for the things that he does that are good,
things that you wanted to happen. Then celebrate Him when
things that don't happen that you asked for, knowing that
He is good all the time and all the time,
God is good whether or not you get what you want.
(49:34):
And listen. As long as Steph Curry is still here,
it's still a possibility that Mama can meet Steph Curry.
And we're gonna keep doing what we can to see
if we can make it happen. And I will keep
trusting God. And God is good even if he doesn't.
(49:55):
Henry Flowers Powerful Living Outreach Ministries ain't going nowhere. We're
coming back.
Speaker 2 (50:02):

We have an empowerment session immediately after the broadcast.
Speaker 2 (50:56):
This is where the true powerful living is put into
If you.
Speaker 1 (51:01):
Want to come together and work on something with me
one on one coaching in a group setting, then you
want to be a part of the empowerment sessions. I
cannot tell you how many testimonies and how much transformation
has occurred as a result of these empowerment sessions. You
(51:22):
want to be here, the church being the church, people
coming in with their stuff, working on it with me,
using biblical principles and getting real transformation in real time
so that we ourselves can be empowered. Then we can
be able to go and empower others. My friend, that
(51:44):
is what powerful living is. So you definitely want to
join us in the empowerment sessions in person, and also
you can join us live via zoom and the zoom.
Information is in the description box. Join us tent every
Sunday Eastern Standard Time. Look forward to seeing you there.
(52:06):
Many of you have been asking how you can give
and support powerful living ministries.
Speaker 2 (52:14):
I have a few options for you.
Speaker 1 (52:16):
I often go and speak to our young people who
are just living in desperate times, not really sure if
I would want to be a young person living in
these times, with these societal norms that are.
Speaker 2 (52:29):
Just bang banging banging at the door of their moral houses,
and they need help.
Speaker 1 (52:37):
So the help that I deliver when I go and
speak to these young people are through powerful testimonial speeches,
motivational speeches, whatever you want to call it, but biblical
principles and same things I deliver in the empowerment sessions
and in the podcast is what I deliver when I
speak to colleges and high schools.
Speaker 2 (52:53):
Now, I often go and speak about what I wrote
in my book.
Speaker 1 (52:57):
Which is titled Board to Death, Five Steps to gear.
Speaker 2 (53:03):
Up and be about that life.
Speaker 1 (53:06):
This is a pulling together of personal stories, things that
I have lived through and how I went from where
I was living on the streets of Detroit, and how
I survived the streets of Detroit and created a life
that I love. When I had all of the obstacles
in my way, I had the perfect recipe to become
(53:29):
a statistic How did I overcome?
Speaker 2 (53:32):
What did I do well?
Speaker 1 (53:34):
Those questions are answered in my book Bored to Death
and Five Easy Steps. I share these steps with young
people and I get transformation, and I see transformation. Their
lives are empowered on a daily basis. This is powerful
living in action when I go and.
Speaker 2 (53:49):
Speak to these young people.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
Now, how you can come alongside is a couple of ways.
You can obviously give directly to this ministry if you

the opportunity to purchase my book. If you purchase my book,
(54:54):
every book that you purchase will be an opportunity for
me to put another one copy of my books in
hand of our young people, and so they can take
home the message that I deliver in person, and they
can be.
Speaker 2 (55:05):
Empowered and study and.
Speaker 1 (55:08):
See what I did to create a life that I love,
and therefore they'll be able to see.
Speaker 2 (55:14):

shell topic, content ideas, if you have questions, if I
said something that you don't agree with, whatever it is,
