Speaker 1 (00:05):
Hey, everybody, welcome back to Pro Wrestling after Hours. It's
Michael Carlisle, Join as always by Micah Frankle. Micah was
shaking man.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
I'm shaking man. Anyone like Osca that can turn Ria
Ripley into a blue person from the original Avatar movie.
They got me scared and shook. Uh.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Why'd you have to bring up Avatar.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Because that's what Rea Ripley looked like when she was
all blued.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
I guess, I guess. Coming off a big wrestling weekend,
AW had all out Saturday afternoon, wwe had Wrestle Palooza
Saturday night. We had a lot of wrestling this weekend.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Micah heck can Then even to throw it out, MJF
took a whooping in front of Arena Mexico, like late
late on Friday night. I believe it U that dude's
flying all around the world putting in that effort in
what I've heard a lot of people say was an
epic between him and Mystico. So I shot out MJF

(01:12):
for putting in those miles.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Ah. Then yeah, then he toted an ass whooping from
Mark Briscoe on Saturday. I did not.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Expect that, but it does make a lot of sense
that we need to pile as many losses on MJF
as possible right now. He's hot, he doesn't need the wins,
and he has the contract in his back pocket, so
he can climb out of the mud very easily, very quickly.
And I think that with the lack of faces that

(01:41):
we have available we talked about, somebody needs to step up.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
So it is the.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Perfect occasion to give a Mark Brisco a credible win
to start moving him towards that he matters stage. It
was perfect, but not for any of the reasons you
just laid out.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Yes, he does snack me. No, No, I didn't mean
it like that. My apologies. He does have that contract
in his back pocket, but he needs to be on
something of a streak when he challenges. I do believe
MJF is about to go off and film another movie,
so we're probably looking at at least a few weeks
without him. Mark Brisco probably deserved to get some payback

(02:20):
on MJF for the things he said about his brother
and things like and the things that he's done, So
it did make sense from that standpoint, and you're you
are right, MJFS An made man. You comeback and you
get a win or two and then you decide, hey,
I want to catch in my contract and boom, you've

(02:40):
got your storyline there for mjf's title match right there.
So so my point was that I think it's more about
we might be about to be a few weeks without MJF.
That that was probably the bigger reason things fell the
way they did.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Okay, well that sucks. Love MJF as a wrestler on TV.
Don't really appreciate. I don't with any of these guys
when they're off filming movies. But that's just me huge
win for Mark Brisco A lot of tacks. Jay Driller
comes into play. I thought the match was a beautifully spectacular,
and I mean the way that ae W invigorates this

(03:17):
ECW style of action at least once or twice a
pay per view, it's something I truly enjoy.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Yes, Also, at some point in time, MJFS got to
go on a honeymoon. That hasn't happened yet either.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
So he got his wife a job. I think that
that should make honey as happy as the moon could be.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Did he get her the job or does she already
have the job.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
I'll tell the story the way I will.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
I mean, I don't know, Yeah, yeah, I don't know,
but yeah, all right, we'll go with your version. What
the hell you want to do all out first or
wressell palooza. It's truly up to you.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
I don't know if we want to do a c
flip here, if we just want to go in krodnological
time order, or if we want to go in the
one that we can wrap up quicker because it was
a lot shorter of a show.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Oh, let's just go chronological order. Aaw all out happened
in the afternoon, wrestle bolus what happened at night? Let's
just start with uh all out? Why the hell not?

Speaker 2 (04:21):
And uh did we bring it up right away? It
was a I sore to everyone that you countered programmed yourself.
We had the Brawlbque, which I really appreciated, counter programming
the pre show, so because of the wrestling that was
already on TV. I don't think there was any wrestling
on the pre show because the pre show stuff was

(04:42):
on the Brawl Bloque.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Right. Well, there was the tailgate brawl.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
You mean, yeah, sorry, Talgate Brawl exactly. That was airing
at the same time as the pre show, it was
all this kind of the same.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
But yeah, you had Samoa Joe in Powerhouse Hobbs beat
the hell out of the Workhorsemen. I don't think it
made any sense to have all three members of the
Ops on the pre show and not have the trios
tight along the line, but I get it Daniel Garcia
needed to beat somebody. We'll get to that one in
a second. Joe and Powerhouse Hobbs make quick work of

(05:21):
the Workhorsemen.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
That did happen. I like this version of the work Horsemen.
Better good to see that Anthony Henry is somewhat healthy.
They're a serviceable losing tag team. I thought that Hobbs
look great. I get endless enjoyment out of Samoa Joe
simply walking away when guys jump off the middle rope.
He will never cease to make me laugh and Hack

(05:44):
the Ops roll through someone else, And then we got
to see the other member of the Ops come out
and kind of get rolled through, which I also enjoyed.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
For different reasons. But Yeh Shabata and Daniel Garcia. First
time we see Garcia since he joins the Death Riders,
and he had Marina Shaffir with him when he came out,
had the hoodie, all that good stuff, and he took
care of business with Shabana.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
I like the outside the ring portrayal. Unlike WWE fans
that automatically know when taboo and cheer heels, there was
that one guy that was still trying to help Danny
Garcia up when all the fans were supposed to pull back,
and Marina and Shafir was going to be the last
line to help. But at least she did help up
Danny Garcia. I liked the little additions to his trunks,

(06:31):
making them more of that Mma feel. And then I
liked the curbstam finisher, a different finisher for a different
maturation or a different profile in his maturation process.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
It was also refreshing to have a singles match on
the pre show.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
God damn, we don't get many of those instead of
those you know, eight man tags.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Tony loves him some eight man tags, also six man
tags as well. Kylo Riley, Roddy Strong in Hologram versus
the Frat House and uh Hologram, Will Riley and Strong
get the win there?

Speaker 2 (07:04):
I am not satisfied. I'm displeasured with the fact that
we got the start of the Hologram story and it
feels like we're not following up on it. We've seen
him two or three times, and I'm expecting to see
more flashing lights, more headache, more and more. Something inconsistent
storytelling bothers me about Hologram. The match was fine for

(07:26):
what it was and the angle that they're portraying, where
sometimes Roddy Strong is almost cool with Hologram and the conglomeration,
like he'll be around them, but then the minute the
bell rings and they win a match, he's like pulling
O'Reilly away. So again, there's some inconsistent storytelling for me
in the in that mid card setting that I feel

(07:46):
like we could be a little more concis with butt
story we're telling.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Uh well with the evil Hologram part, Yeah, whatever his
name is, the Clone, I'm with you. The Roddy Strong thing,
I think he's just telling a story that he'll play
nice dear the match because you got to. But other
than that, he doesn't want anything to do with Hologram.
I don't think he's gonna react react that well either
to Kyl O'Reilly double dipping with his old friends in

(08:12):
the conglomeration either, but we'll see how that plays out.
It won't happen. I'd love to see Riddy wind up
with the Death Riders, but yeah, I also don't envision
a scenario where that happens, So we'll see how that
plays out. You also had every woman on the roster
that wasn't on the main card in a big cluster

(08:35):
of a tag. I guess it was only eight women,
but it seemed like a whole lot more eight women.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Street fight, good fight. I enjoyed it. They know how
to do the extreme in a nice way. That wasn't
a bad match. I mean, sword fight between tongs and
a spashla was a little hokey for me.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
It's hard for me sometimes when you have all these
multi person matches to keep up with everything that's going on. Now,
you're right that the match wasn't bad. I don't think
the g real spot went the way it was supposed to,
but that's that's all right as well. We get to
the main card. You kick it off with Christian Cage

(09:19):
Adam Copeland versus FTR Smart Move or Bad Move. Starting
the card off with this match.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
I kind of thought we'd build a little more to it,
but from what was considered a slow pre show, all
of the pop for Coping Christian right there in Toronto.
My gosh fucking moment.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Yes, uh, Cage and Cope get the win. You see
the AEW debut of Beth Copeland, and then you see
the postmatch beat down. This rivalry not going anywhere, This rivalry.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Not going anywhere. We saw that Mama Wayne and Nick
Wayne had some thing to do with the distraction at
the top of the rampway, so they're not going anywhere either.
Interesting build up and like you said, now you have
the infusion of Beth and as Cope is handcuffed and

(10:16):
pleading with his wife to run away, she stays in
fights for her man so he doesn't get laid out.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Beth Cope Copeland. If he's Cope, she's got to be
Cope too, right.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
I saw Beth Copeland. Somebody had to say that.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
Yeah, yeah, it's Copeland. Yeah it will not be Beth Phoenix.
Pretty safe bet on that. Then we had the return
of Eddie Kingston. He took on Big Bill. Good to
see Eddie Kingston in his time away getting healthy from
the knee injuries. And all that also took the time
to get in shape, he said sarcastically.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
It feels like this was rushed. This feels like Matt,
I wish we could have had another Max Caster Open challenge,
who can survive five with the best of Live and
that would have been a perfect spot for Eddie Kingston
to come back. Big Bill deserves better. That wasn't a
great finish. It felt like a rough introduction or reintroduction

(11:18):
for Eddie Kingston. It didn't feel like he had many
reps in the ring before jumping in there. Things didn't
feel as smooth as normal. Is an insulting to say, yeah,
real throw back there and Eddie Kingston and his physique,
you know, throwing it back to before the Hogan error.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Well, look, to be fair, Kingston doesn't need a twenty
four inch Python's brother or anything like that. But yeah,
he it would have been bad. The ring rust was there,
and I think you look at Kingston and then you
see the ring rust and you're like, well, damn, he
didn't do anything while he was away. We know he did,

(12:00):
but yeah, it was probably not the match that he
was hoping for. In his return. He does get the
win and Ultimately, I guess that's all that matters.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Right, you have another face in the pile to start using.
We'll see where we go from here.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Yep, tax and tables MJF Mark Brisco. This match was
everything I thought it would be. I didn't see the
finish coming, but like we talked about earlier, it does
seem to kind of make sense. But Mark Risco gets
the win. This was a brutal match, just like we

(12:37):
thought it would be, and I thought it was a
lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Brutal fun love. That's tax poor ref's shoes if you
saw it afterwards to attacks he was stepping up on.
They went out there, they went balls out. A lot
of great stuff from that match, and a lot of
reason why it kind of is good that we have
these injuries. Mark Brisco deserves an opportunity for a bigger spot.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
And he wants to go after the don Kallis family.
We'll talk a little more about that in a second.
He's going to get his wish. If you're the Hurt
Syndicate and the Demand. By the way, I don't like
that name at all, but that's okay. Are you a
little bit bothered that you had to follow the tables
and tax match, wondering if there are gonna be some

(13:25):
straight tacks out there somewhere along the way along ringside
or something that you step on or fall into.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Somebody's got to do it. Rough spot for anybody, but yeah,
somebody's got to be that guy.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
I love this match, by the way, I like both
these teams. Like I said, I don't like that. This
was the best you could come up with the name
for Ricochet and Gates of Agony was the demand.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
I thought they were just Gooa altogether. I don't know,
but I'll give it to you. Ricochet can perform, he
can sell, he can fly, and we're fine only starting
to get that imposing big men feeling from Tongolua, from
Tongoluo and from Bishop Khan that it feels like a
lot of those early excitement moments that I got from

(14:11):
seeing them on aw Dark and Dark Elevation and Dark
Elevation after Dark. It's been a long time been able
to say all that. For Carlisle, we're starting to see
all that potential for sure.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
And again I thought it was a really good match.
The demand to get the wind, which makes a lot
of sense. MVP took the pen for the Hurt Syndicate.
Probably not done with this feud. I would love to
see the Demand get a title shot for the trios
titles against the Ops. Now you would think they've earned
that with this Trios of victory and then the Ops

(14:45):
the Demand the Hurt Syndicate right there is a pretty
strong trios division.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
Did this give you any inclinations? Some of us suggested online?
Could this be the MVP is the weak link and
maybe we're gonna s tracked him from competition and adding
somebody else to the Hurt Syndic get a more functional,
younger talent. I have no clue who that would be.
But do you see any of that change up and
roster from the hurts in? It could be impossible.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
I mean, maybe anything's possible. Look, MVP did a great job.
Somebody had to take the pinfall. Were you gonna pin
Lashly or Benjamin? Nah? I mean it made sense if
you want to tell me, MVPs the Wheeler Yuda of
the Hurt Syndicate, all right, but he's also the brains
of the outfits, so it's fine if they add somebody

(15:38):
that's fine too. I guess they tried that a couple
months ago it didn't work out so well.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
I think that there's people that could seamlessly fit in
that wouldn't have such an ego. I do agree though
the right people won here and the right person took
the pin.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
Yep. Mercedes Monet successfully defended the TBS title against the
Rio well to the surprise of no one.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
I thought that they have really good chemistry in the ring.
I thought that the slightness of both competitors led to
really being able to sell the power aspect of some
of the moves that Mercedes has, like her finisher probably
looked the best and ever has because it was someone
appropriate size that she was able to fling around and
land that dedt on. So I thought the match worked

(16:26):
out from that from a standpoint that they're both really
good at selling from that dynamic of being Ray Dolls.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
Okada Takeshka Dorata three way for the unified title. Love.
This match was everything mic I thought it was going
to be. We continue to First of all, they did
a good job of keeping Okada and Taketchka apart for
the majority of the match, but you continue to tease

(16:53):
that dissension there and the cracks in the Kallis family.
In the end, Dorata was there for a reason. Somebody
needed to look up at the lights, and he did
that for Okada as Okada retains.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
Bravo to whoever produced this match, because like you said,
they did a really good job of making the match
not being a triple threat match traditionally, but almost two
individual singles matches, with Dorata taking on Okada and taking
on too Keshna, but doing it intermingling, doing them at
the same time, little interactions between the two Cows family members,

(17:28):
not really much going on until the very ending sequence,
which I thought was brilliance. I thought that Mascara Derada
really had enough moments where he was able to shine,
stand out and look like a two star at twenty
two to twenty three years old. Shit, he might be
my favorite mass luchador that we have right now. That
was a hell of a performance for him, stepping out,

(17:51):
taking advantage of the spotlight, and then they damned him
like you said, because he needed so. I think it
did a lot to actually elevate him will still kind
of putting him in his place.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Yep. I was gonna say, we know how great he
is even though he hasn't really had a chance to
show it in ae W. He did get plenty of
time to get in big moves. The back to back
dives was cool. The hurricane rana on both men simultaneously
for the top rope, he got his thoughts in for sure,

(18:23):
but it also made sense for him to take the pen.
But yes, I thought it was a great showing for
him as well. And yeah, Okata gets to win, he retains,
that gets us to the Coffin match. John Moxley, Darby Allen, Yes, sir.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Do you think this is the end of Takeshna Okada
and this friction with the Kallous family, Because shit, I
think we are heading towards an incredible triple Crown tournament.
I don't even Continental Crown Tournament. Eddie Kingston's back Takesha
is gonna be pissed at al Kada Arkada's greatest tournament

(19:00):
wrestler ever. Maybe that's Tony CON's announcement this week, is
that they're saying when the tournament's happening.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
I don't think that's his announcement, but to answer your question,
it could be, though I think it's gonna be something else.
To answer your question, no, we're not done with Ocada Takeshka.
Now it may continue to simmer, it may not boil
over for a while. Hell it might boil over on
Dynamite this week. I don't know, but yeah, I don't

(19:31):
think we're done with that. For a long shot Boxley
Darby Coffin match, this was exactly what I thought it
was gonna be as well, a lot of plundering. Brian Danielson,
by the way, it should be mentioned, had been fabulous
on commentary the whole night up to this point and

(19:52):
was certainly good here as well. You had the return
of pack, different looking pack, but he plays into this
as well. Uh.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Not to backtrack again to that triple Threat match, but
Danielson's interactions with don Kallais low Key have been a
highlight of him being on commentary. Just the absurdness of
how they play off each other. I don't know if
anybody's been able to appreciate it, but that match also
had a couple of those moments. I'm sorry when you

(20:23):
bring up Danielson it jumped to me, but yeah, even
his interview with Darby leading into how he did but
didn't get involved really in the match all made a
lot of sense for his character, for where he was,
and I think he's doing a really good job on commentary.
But excuse me if I wish the dude would like
step the attire up just a little bit more.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
With you on that, I could have done without Darby
trying to go all Mike Tyson on Mixley's ear. I
get it. You had Moxley fn up Darby's ear a
couple of pay per views ago. It made sense.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
I just don't make sense.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Yeah, I just don't know that I needed to see it. Pat,
Like I said, the Return of Pack, he plays into
the finish and Moxley gets the win.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
So now we've got Garcia, and we got Pack, We've
got Claudio, we have Gabe Kid quite possibly, now we
have a feeling like again there's sinisterness, meanness and strength
back to the Death Riders, and yes, it took a
bunch of them, so you still have this otherworldly strength

(21:33):
I will not die coming back underdog mentality. For Darby,
it took hell and hot water and everybody in the
Death Riders to put him down. So that made a
lot of sense. I like the the carrying him out.
I was, I was, what is going on here? How
is this gonna play? And I love that the story

(21:53):
still continued later in the night.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
Let's skip ahead to later in the night. Why does
everybody else leave? And then Moxley decides to open it up?
That didn't make any damn sense.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Moxley was like, well, I'm gonna talk to our friend
one last time and make sure he gets the point.
And he sent them away. Uh, this is that moment
where you know the bad guy. It's basic Bond villainism.
It feels like I have you Haha, I'm gonna divulge
my whole plan. Oh no, you're escaping. Ah. It would
have just made more sense, Like I guess, you know,

(22:28):
Darby had the time to get a weapon while he
was in the coffin and be ready to spring. But
I guess you could have let Moxley get further into
his maniacal speech towards Darby before all of a sudden,
oh shit, he got free.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
You never know.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
But I still kind of felt the classic hero villain
overblown superhero movie scene going on there.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Which superhero movie have you been watching where the hero
sets the villain on fire?

Speaker 2 (22:58):
The one We're a Hangman is all of our hero?

Speaker 1 (23:03):
Well, that was more of a how I Darby literally
set Monksley on fire, so we're supposed to believe.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
It's what Batman always should have done to the joker.
I mean, the dude keeps coming back on you. Set
him on fire, get him done. Fire is fine in aw,
there's no problem with fire. And besides, basically called Darby
Captain Inferno, not Captain Insano. If fire is his move,
this isn't the first guy ask jack Berry about that shit. Oh,
we'll be able to talk about him in a moment.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
Two easy, don't spoil it. I'm kidding. If you don't
know by now, that's on you. Oh somewhere along the
way here as well. I'll just go ahead and throw
it in. Now. We have the backstage segment with the
conglomeration and the phone call and uh Kylo. Raley asked
him if he's ready to come back, and he tells
Brisco that the guy said yeah whatever. Obviously, Orange Cassidy,

(23:56):
we've talked about him a lot in recent weeks when
we would see him. He'll be on his way back, guys,
my very I believe he'll be an action on Dynamite
this week. So we had that little interaction as.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
Well trios match. Orange is back. Let's go Orange, Yay
Orange Cassidy again. Injuries. It was a torn pectoral, I
believe for Orange. He finally seems to be held up,
So that's good that well, the injury list was filling up.
Some guys are getting off it.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
YEP Women's title matchs next. This is a four way
Tony Storm defending against Tecla, Jamie Hayter, Chris Statlander. Chris Statlander,
your new AEW women's champion. And they didn't take the
easy way out and have her pinned someone else. She
actually pinned Tony Storm.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Forget that. We didn't continue the story of the Death Riders,
shockingly lacking a Wheeler Utah or a Marina Shaffir appearance,
but there is a death Rider homage as the pinning
sequence is the seat belt pin that we've seen utilized
by Wheeler Utah. So I was kind of surprised to

(25:06):
not see more death Writer emphasis playing into that story.
But I understand now with the Darby later in the night,
why you would say they were all preoccupied, right.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
And you did have you to at the beginning. It's
for something in an ear did you not.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
Did you do that again in this match and then
run away.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
I believe so, yes, okay, well, or maybe that was
on the Dynamite Collisions spectacular. It all runs together.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
I swear it was like that Dynamite Collision Spectacular was
when he did it.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
It may have been, but yeah, you're still teasing it
and I know she addressed it in the uh. For
those who watched the media scrumbs after the pay per view,
you just did the Garcia turn. You don't wan't turn everybody.
You can still let it simmer, you can let it brew.
You don't have to do it right away. Let it

(25:59):
be there. But I thought the match was good, happy
for stat Lander. I love Tony Storm's visuals after the match.
The surprise, yeah, for for sure, So I like this again.
Tony Storm the most overact in the company, male or female,
so it doesn't hurt her. And maybe the death writers

(26:22):
come into play as Tony starts chasing the title again.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
Not surprised that Statlander left with the title, surprised in
the clean fashion in which had happened, And the most
standout moment of the match for me is still the afterwards,
the shock on Tony's face, the dismay all the way
up the ramp. What level of madness and crazy will
come out of the Timeless One now that she has

(26:50):
parted from her loving belt once again? Oh that's so
intriguing exactly.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Broddo defended the tag titles against the Young Bucks, Jet
Speed and the Callous Family. I enjoyed this match as well.
Maybe the postmatch was better, but this was a fun match.
In the end, Brodido does retain and they are still
your tag champs.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
Micah, there's still your tag champs. That match was hard hitting,
it was exciting, it was ladder crashing. I have endless
affinity for Hetchhay Zero for some of the stuff that
he's out there doing. The Bucks are always spectacular, and
we knew that having another high flying young duo like

(27:34):
Jet Speed would add a much needed aerial element to
the match. We like long title RNs. I thought that
there was maybe an opportunity here because it's kind of
a thrown together tag team that we may have seen
something happen, but we are still fine with Brodido and
how they can proceed. I thought this was very well done.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
Indeed, that gets us to the postmatch. Jack Perry runs
the Bucks there's the beat down. They're getting ready to
take him out, and Jack Perry looks up with a
shitty and grin on his face. The arena goes dark.
The video plays on the screen, Jack Perry digging up
a coffin, dragging it behind a truck. You're like, holy shit,

(28:19):
is starby Allen. Then you realize it's not, and it's
resuscitating Lucasaurus. When the lights come back on, Lucasaurus standing
behind the bucks, takes him down and we get the
biggest reunion. Aw probably could have done a real cool moment,
probably the only way you can get the fans to

(28:40):
cheer Jack Perry again. Jurassic Express back together.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
We've wanted it for a while, we've speculated about it.
It came together. The crowd loved it. It was what
we thought happened from the saving of kill Switch Lucasaurus,
that it was Jack Perry. The only surprise element to
me was was this tag team gonna come back as
a boy in his dinosaur where where we gonna have
a more vicious new version that was gonna be going

(29:08):
after their former father.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
It's just so funny when you say a boy it
is dinosaur, But I mean that that's exactly what they were.
You're a hundred percent right. I just that that never
stops being funny to me. You know what, I didn't
even pick up on it earlier in the night when
you had Sabian and Kip Wayne, Nick Wayne excuse me,
not Kip Wayne, Kip Sabian there with the interference there

(29:35):
at the end of FTR and Cope and Cage didn't
even dawn on me. Hum, kill switch isn't there? Wonder
what that means? I guess we know now, But yes,
Lucasaurus still had the kill switch belt on. He took
it off through it in the crowd, they hug, they
played the damn song everybody waves their arms around and

(29:56):
the world is a better place Micah.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
A dinosaur came back to life. He needed to go
settle his gripe, I guess with Christian, and when that
was unable to happen, he went back and found Jack,
who said, well, really, really, I got stabbed in the
back by two these two guys. This is my problem.
So it looks like we got a lot of problem
solving to do from Jungle Express. But again, like you said,

(30:22):
probably the only way to turn Jack Perry back to
a face would be this way. And the scapegoat version
of Jack Perry never really got over or connected with
fans here in America to become as hated as it
was in Japan. It just wasn't working here.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
Agreed, No, I think this is great for him. I
I don't know that we see loincloth jungle Boy, nor
do we probably need to. It can be an evolved
jungle Boy, but jungle Boy Jack Perry with Lucasaurus. I
like this a lot. And it's the did you have

(31:01):
Jurassic Express and the acclaimed teaming again on your twenty
twenty five twenty twenty six bingo card, I.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
Can mark one of those spots. I had the acclaim.
I thought that we'd come back around to this, but uh,
the Jungle Express Nope, didn't see it. And hey, you
called for it. Even Marco Stunt is out there on
X Turn to Pond like bring me back, guys, bring
me back.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Well, you knew I was gonna do it somehow, Micah,
And this is how I'm gonna do it. If you're
not bringing back Marco Stunt, I can think of another
comedy esque act who would probably fit in well. With
a misfit Jurassic Express. What if instead of little Marco Stunt,

(31:47):
it's a bigger teeth collecting Dan Housen. I thought you were.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
Gonna say me. I thought you were literally gonna promote me.
They with a broom no hell no.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
Uh. And I'm kiding about Dan House. I just figured
I needed a way to work him into the conversation somehow.
I don't know that we get Marco's I mean, I'd
be fine with it. It would help make Jack Perry
look a little bigger. And I'm not even being funny
or shitty with that. I'm actually being serious. But I
don't know if you need him. But I know one thing.

(32:18):
When the music starts playing on Dynamite this week and
they come out like the video clip I sent you
after the event, Taz Is asked better be there at
the announced desk, singing along, just saying.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
I thought I was toned deaf. Thank you Taz for
one upping me on that one. He can imagine how
much bigger it'll be Marco Stunt runs out in front
of him. I think you get even a little more
pop from the crowd. We've got a great tag team
division coming upon us when you got Marco Stunt, You've
got the bucks back. We now have this Brodido going on.
You still have FTR, you still have the Outrunners. Now

(32:55):
I think that we have a really reform tag team division.
It's quite nice to see.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
Indeed, it is that gets us to the main event,
micah aw Men's World Championship on the line. I'll do
it the way Hangman does. Hangman outam Paige defending against
Kyle Fletcher. If he wasn't already and to some maybe
he was, a star was born Saturday evening at all Out.

(33:22):
This was Kyle Fletcher's coming out party. Now Hangman retains,
but from the Kyle Fletcher standpoint, this was everything you
could have hoped it to be. I think it elevates
the T and T Championship. I think it certainly solidifies
Kyle Fletcher is an e FFing major player in ae W,

(33:45):
in the world title picture, and in a faction that
has Takeusha and Okada. Kyle Fletcher may be your damn
flagship piece.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
This reminds me almost of I don't know that the
dangerous Alliance is that the Heenan family.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
I don't it.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
I think I threw this one on our text group.
It almost feels like the Generation X if you can
throw all the versions together, where Don Challas is probably
a funny version, frontier version of Rick Rude. It's like
you have Okata Takeshna in the Sean Michaels role, and
you have Kyle Fletcher in the Triple H roll, the

(34:24):
younger guy that's about ready to bust out to make
his Hall of Fame run. Well, he's already standing next
to the guys that have kind of in the Okada case,
made that Hall of Fame run. So that gives me
that kind of vibes from the callous family. It's not
fully on there, but I think that Fletcher really does
show limitless potential to be a huge antagonist. I think

(34:48):
that we said there's some drawback to the limitations of
using MJF with his budding movie career. At this point,
Kyle Fletcher is a fully engaged pro wrestler with pro
wrestling as his focus, and I think that makes him
a great print pillar at this point.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
Yep, I think you needed a hangman to win here.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
Question.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
Yeah, and he does. But I love the way that
they did it to make Fletcher stronger and a more
credible threat coming out and really elevating him that this
really was a coming out party for Kyle Fletcher. This match,
I don't think from the A a W standpoint could

(35:29):
have gone any better with Hangman retaining and Kyle Fletcher
looking like a bona fide superstar.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
When was the last bad Hangman Page match? I don't
think we've talked about that in a while, but to
really solidify how much better this second title run has been.
This has been some epic matches like when was the
last not Wow match from Hangman Page?

Speaker 1 (35:53):
There was a kid from Chicago that was still in
the company. Uh, yeah, you'd have to go back that far,
you know what. And I get a little tired of
all the buckshot lariats and the going for them and
they not working and stuff like that. You're one hundred
percent right, though, you got to look really hard to
find a bad Hangman Page match. Now, there may be

(36:15):
some that aren't your cup of tea, some of the
stuff with swerve Strickland, with syringes and hammers burning swerves,
how all that are. If that's not your cup of tea,
that's fine, But as far as actual matches, you'd be
hard pressed to find a bad Hangman page match.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
The dude is on a run right now. I thought
the match played out perfectly, and like you said, I
think even operating in that manner where he's able to
enhance Kyle Fletcher and then still come out and get
the win, still look like a solid performer. It shows
a huge maturity in who hangman pages and who and

(36:50):
how much he knows who he is in his position
in the company. Being mature enough to put over Fletcher
like that and still look like a bad house coming out.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
Yes, something I had a little bit of a problem
with and it didn't come into play. So the Kallous
family can't be at ringside if they interfere. Fletcher stripped
of the TNT title. YadA, YadA, YadA. Why does Don
Challis get to be at the broadcast table?

Speaker 2 (37:15):
An inconsistency that I did not like, but again to
have him and Danielson going back and forth all over
with it.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
Yeah, the same thing with the the trios match for
the Unified title that that was fought under Continental Classic rules,
which means no one at ringside, but there's Don Kallis
sitting at the announced table.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
Well, you know, if he's not leaving the commentary table.
He's not really at ringside.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
Is he? But is he? But the referee gets knocked down,
he's a hop skipping to jump away from interfering in
either of those matches. I look, I'm with you, But
if we were talking WWE right now and they did this,
we'd be shitting all over them. So it's only fair
to point out the inconsistencies as well. Again, did it

(38:00):
take away from my enjoyment of either match?

Speaker 2 (38:03):
Nah?

Speaker 1 (38:03):
It didn't. As a matter of fact, with callison commentary,
probably added to it. But it did seem a little
odd to me. No, it did.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
It was something that I think I did have on
my notes. I just forgot to bring up, You're right,
why is Callous there? Why is he not? Some of
those were inconsistencies, but at least it didn't reach over
into the point where he got physically involved in the match,
and then we really be jumping on the shit where
you said nobody was involved. So at least he did
stay his place for those matches.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
How many times have you watched the video clip online
of the Jurassic Express reunion?

Speaker 2 (38:42):
At least six times?

Speaker 1 (38:44):
Only six?

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (38:47):
Yeah, yeah, I've probably watched it sixty five seventy times
at least at least but you know, in all seriousness,
it was the only way you could bring Jack Perry
back and have the fans be interested. Like you mentioned earlier,

(39:08):
what he was doing last time we saw him, it
just wasn't working. A lot of fans held the whole
seampunk stuff against him and all that. He was really
in danger of being a guy that there was no
interest in. In aew you bring him back again. He
doesn't have to be loincloth jungle boy. You can involve

(39:29):
that character, but bringing him back with Lucasaurus that was
about the only thing you could do and have the
fans have an interest. Him coming back and joining the
Bucks and continuing that character I don't think would have
done anything for him or the young Bucks. But this,
I think this is something you can build on for him.

Speaker 2 (39:49):
In all seriousness, it's a huge breath of fresh air
with FTR, with the Wayne Archy, yep, Wayne out there
with Cope Christian with the Bucks. There are so many
ways to intermingle all these tag teams with these leftover hostilities.

(40:12):
It breeds a new life back into the jungle.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
Yes, breathes the new life into the jungle Boy.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
I'm right.

Speaker 1 (40:24):
I see what you did there. I see what you
did there. That was really good. That was really good.
All in all, enjoyed the heck kind of AW all
out AW always over delivers on pay per views.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
So I think we're going six hours, six hours strong,
six hours strong? And did we get twelve matches in
that six hours? I think we had thirteen thirteen matches
in six hours. How many returns did we get there?
We got unofficial Orange Cassidy, we get Eddie Kings, did
we get pack? Who am I missing? I'm missing some.

Speaker 1 (41:00):
Uh well, jungle Boy, Lucasaurus.

Speaker 2 (41:03):
We just spent fifteen minutes on that. How did I
not say that?

Speaker 1 (41:06):
You got the debut of Beth Copeland. So not a return,
but yeah, got a lot of shit, Yes, holy shit, indeed,
AW not the only game in town. On Saturday, WWE
counterprogrammed with Wressell Palooza. Let me state right off the

(41:29):
bat here, Micah. I enjoyed the heck out of Wressell
Palooza as well. The problem for WWE, and it's only
a problem with fans who watch both shows. If you're
just a WWE fan, you enjoyed the hell out of
Wrestle Palooza. It was everything you thought it would be
if you watched both shows. The flaw with WWE counterprogramming

(41:51):
and putting on events same day as aew For the
people who watch both, it highlights the differences in the
companies and what they do on pay per views slash
premium live events, and the difference in the two and
that's not a good thing for WWE. Now again, I'm
not telling you that people who watch both are suddenly

(42:12):
going to decide I'm only watching one and it's aw
But six hours, thirteen matches, whatever it was versus this
that had what five matches? Six matches?

Speaker 2 (42:23):
Did we wind up with five matches in three hours
and fourteen minutes?

Speaker 1 (42:28):
Yeah, which, again is fine. But if the goal is
to show everybody why you are the best and you
shouldn't mess with the other company, I think this actually
highlights the opposite.

Speaker 2 (42:42):
Well, we'll get into this as we talk about WWE.
But when you said it's fine, that that depends in
the beholder of who's answering that question, because again, it
just doesn't stack up. You could say it's fine, but

(43:04):
that it does feel like a elongated slash. Sorry for
me sometimes getting through five matches in over three hours,
you're like, where's the rustle in this palooza?

Speaker 1 (43:16):
Yeah, well that's why I prefaced it with. If you're
only watching one and it's WWE, you enjoyed it because
it's what you're accustomed to. But if you're watching AEW
and then flipped over and watched, you do see the differences, and.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
That also speaks to if you were able to watch
when you flipped over. Sorry to welcome everybody over to
the brand new era, but that also came with quite
a few logging complaints online.

Speaker 1 (43:46):
That was a huge pain in the ass. And I'll
just leave it at that. It'll all get worked out.
But you're not wrong on that a major pain in
the ass.

Speaker 2 (43:57):
Well, I'd like to hope it's going to get worked out,
but let's not act like on MMA After Hours are
other amazing podcasts here on the A half hours podcast
network that there are consistent rough reviews when it comes
to numbered UFC events and people being able to access them,

(44:17):
purchase them, log in, depending on what device or what
platform you're trying to access it from. So this isn't
new territory for an ESPN app. This is new territory
for WWE fans who had been used to a peacock
and a WWE network that didn't have these issues.

Speaker 1 (44:39):
Well, I think despite WWE's best efforts in trying to
put the info out there, there were assumptions that if
you had ESPN Plus you'd be able to get this
and that even and that wasn't the case that your
ESPN Plus subscription, especially if you did the Disney Hulu
bundle with it, that it automatically upgraded to the new

(45:03):
ESPN package it and it does not, so right off
the bat. That caused problems. And then you get into
like you talked about with the USC events over there,
lots of times people have problems purchasing those pay per views,
but just assuming you already had it, and then finding
out you didn't and the show's already started, that made
a lot of people unhappy.

Speaker 2 (45:24):
I dumblucked into being able to watch the show. I
had assumed, because I had seen other media outlets put
out if you have ESPN, like Comcasts right whatever their
other name is, Direct TV or Dish, that you were
going to be able because you already paid for ESPN.
You were going to have access to this? That seemed

(45:45):
too easy. I was like, that is not going to
make anybody money. And then it came to no, no, no, no,
no no. If you have ESPN through Hulu Live, which
it just so happens, we were doing a trial of it.
When I logged into my Hulu Live, it gave me
the automatic way to see it. But other than that,
I was going to be less scrambling because normally I'm

(46:06):
a Direct TV user. We're thinking about switching over.

Speaker 1 (46:09):
This played into it.

Speaker 2 (46:10):
I didn't know that there had been so much misinformation
throughout the media previously of how we were going to
log into this. I'll be honest, I only paid half
attention to our truce promo because I thought I already
had access, right.

Speaker 1 (46:26):
Yeah, I don't think it was misinformation. It was just
people being wrong, Like like I knew with DirecTV, having
ESPN through DirecTV got you nothing. Now if you have
direct TV streaming, it got you. I believe Comcast it
was included. Maybe I'm wrong on that. I'd have to
go back and look it all up. But yeah, a
lot of people, myself included, made assumptions that they were

(46:49):
wrong about and it did cause quite a bit of issues.
I was watching the event a little later anyway, so
at least I wasn't scrambling like, fuck, it's already started
and I'm missing it. I was able to be a
little calmer and rational about it. But yeah, that was
a little disappointing.

Speaker 2 (47:08):
And on that point, I know it's counter programming. Shout
out for ESPN for eliminating that easily playbackable on your device.
You did not have to watch Russell Palooza live, but
even when you were watching it live, I think that
for being a PLA, it did take the consumer back

(47:29):
by the amount of mandated ESPN, Hulu whatever ads that
you cannot skip through on top of the esp the
WWE ads that were fast forwardable or added in where
you're like talking about their next upcoming event. So I
just don't think that the three hours and fourteen minutes

(47:51):
and five matches the trouble logging in.

Speaker 1 (47:54):
Took people aback. But then also the.

Speaker 2 (47:56):
Amount of commercials that they're having to deal with on
top of their new thirty dollars service that they didn't
understand how to log into, that they had a fight
to that all put a general negativity towards the consumer
getting to this event.

Speaker 1 (48:12):
Maybe maybe not. Again, the event itself was fine. I
didn't have a problem with the commercials. ESPN's got to
make their money back somehow, and if you've been watching
the events on Peacock, you've been dealing with commercials there
as well, so not a huge deal. As far as
the event itself, I thought it was really good. I'm

(48:33):
not gonna lie watching it. After I watched All Out,
you can't help but compare, and that's what I was
talking about earlier with the differences. But if you're just
a WWE fan, I think you totally enjoyed the show.
And again, I enjoyed it as well, But I just
sat there thinking, huh, I just watched a shit ton
of matches a pay per view that I felt like

(48:53):
I got more than my money's worth, and this one
just seems like another event. They opened it up with
Brock John Cena. The Sena retirement tour hit a major
roadblock as rock lessner beat the everlove and pooh pooh
out of John Cena.

Speaker 2 (49:13):
This is where I don't know how to like judge WWE,
because to me, the quality of wrestling is so much
better in AEW I feel like I have to reduce
my expectations anyway, stepping into what I'm gonna see from
a WWE perspective. Anyway, we get to the match, rock

(49:35):
Lesner absolutely beat the shit out of John Cena for
maybe the second or third time now on this retirement tour.
John Cena takes an owl. The match happened. I don't
know what I expected, but less than nine minutes felt
very underwhelming for a match that I had to convince

(49:55):
myself to care about anyway because of the afore mentioned
beast incarnate, who I don't think should be on TV
right now, and we've already went over all of those
legal reasons.

Speaker 1 (50:06):
Yeah, as far as the match and the reasons it
went the way it did, I can only assume this
means that brock Lesner will be John Cena's final match,
because otherwise I don't know how John Cena just comes
back out in a week or two. All right, continuing
the retirement tour, Lester beat the hell out of me.
Who's next? I would assume that this means we're not

(50:30):
done with Sena and Lessner.

Speaker 2 (50:33):
Maybe we are, maybe we aren't. I didn't think we
were done with Sena and Logan Paul. Maybe we are,
maybe we aren't. We've also thrown out gun Through, We've
thrown out three different possibilities of who could be seen
his final opponent. That all make a lot of sense.
And I believe he's down to a single digit number
of appearances left. And I am seeing that there was
a WWE announcement it's John Senna and aj Stiles the

(51:01):
October eleventh Crown Jewel event in Australia. That's who John Cena,
John Senna, Excuse me, I don't want to get it wrong.
The professionals corrected all of us who he wants to
fight next on this trail. So you're right, there could
be something deeper with brock Lesner. There could not be.
To me, still kind of underwhelmed by some of this

(51:24):
retirementor and how these matches are playing out.

Speaker 1 (51:28):
I just don't think it made sense for seeing it
to lose if that was going to be the end
of it. And I get it, you want to have
him wrestle as many people as possible and all that,
but he's got to get the win back, hear you.

Speaker 2 (51:42):
But we're probably down to like nine and then by
the time he wrestles aj Styles eight. So the dates
are just counting down on me. That's the number part
that's perplexing.

Speaker 1 (51:51):
Well, we've been told the other week was his last
SmackDown appearance, so you don't have to worry about TV
matches there. They may squeeze him in on a raw
just to throw Netflix a bone, but you're probably looking
at pay per view big events the rest of the way.
You just always assumed the scena was going to go

(52:12):
out giving the rub to someone. I don't think so.
I think it's going to be Lessner in the final
match and he gets his win back. You don't need
to give brock Lessner a rub. So, but we'll see. Maybe, look,
maybe we just move on and it's never spoken of again.
I think that's terrible booking if that's the case. So
I guess we'll have to wait and see on that.

(52:34):
But I would be very surprised if we don't get
another seen a match before Sena hangs it out.

Speaker 2 (52:42):
I feel like scene is just running through things that
we're we're not getting a lot of. We're just getting
forward motion. We're just getting a lot of forward motion.
We're not getting a full like bow tying any of
these stories. We're just getting forward motion run into the
opponents right now.

Speaker 1 (52:55):
Maybe it's his next to last match is a rematch
with Lesner. He gets to win, and then he gives
the rub to Gumpher in his last match, and not
only does that shiny light on I'm just using him
as an example, not only does it shine a light
on gumph but then Lesner can come back and come
after the guy that beat the guy. You know, so

(53:16):
then you've got something ready made for Gunther at that point,
I don't know, we'll see. I don't like a lot
of what they've done on this retirement tour to be
fair that the ill fated he'll turn. I think this
crossed a lot of people the wrong way. Unless you're
going somewhere else with this, this one didn't make a

(53:37):
lot of sense either.

Speaker 2 (53:38):
I just don't feel like there's enough appearances for us
to get a real good story besides something that we
just got on social media. It's announced that John Cena
that Crown Jewel is taking on aj Styles. Cool. We
don't need a story, we don't need to waste any
of his extra dates. We're just getting a match that
the fans want, we need a couple of those dates
to be like you said, Monday Night Roz promo appearances,

(54:01):
let's tell a fucking story because I thought this was rushed,
And if you say it wasn't rushed, because hey, there
was all this long term story between Brock Lesner and
John Cena, I'm the one that doesn't get why another
squatch match of Lesner going over here helped get us
any closer towards what it would mean for Sena to

(54:21):
beat brock Lesner, because Lesner squashed Sena before. I've been
told in history, So I don't know why. Well we
needed this, like we only needed one last Lesner Sina
match was my feeling.

Speaker 1 (54:34):
Well, I think the other thing it tells you they
didn't just bring Lessner back for this angle and then
he's going away again. You have him win and win
in the manner he did. He's going to be around that.
They're going to do a lot of other things with
brock Lesner. So for those who weren't happy he's brought back,
prepared to be not happy for the foreseeable future. For

(54:57):
those who are happy he's back, well, guess what you're
gonna get more Brock Lessener and.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
Those of you that have to podcast about him. Believe me,
I'm trying to choke it down myself. Hitteous individuals.

Speaker 1 (55:09):
The USOS versus Bron Breaker, Bronson Reid, we had l A.
Knight weasel his way into being the special guest referee.

Speaker 2 (55:19):
Didn't that feel really random that when that was announced?

Speaker 1 (55:21):
It did? It did afterthought. Yeah, like the usso's coming
out to their old theme the match. It was fine,
Jay hitting Bronson Reid with the chair which bounced back
and busted him open. I think kind of f things
up a little bit. I'm not sure Jay was the
same after that. But as you heard l A. Knight

(55:44):
walk over and tell Breaker spear spear hit the spear.
Yeah I heard it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we all heard it.
I mean it was fine. Look, I think Bronson and
and Bron needed to get the win, so they do.

Speaker 2 (56:05):
Yeah, everything you said is is correct right there. And
that was the snaffoom moment that that was really caught
on camera. And then there was the other staff woo
moment and I'm shocked he was out a concussion protocol
quick enough to perform on Monday night. The right guy's
got the victory. Seems like a USO drama will continue.

Speaker 1 (56:30):
Of course it will Women's World title match Stephanie vakoure
versus EO Sky and that cour much like I thought
she would gets to win.

Speaker 2 (56:41):
I had made the case last week for Edosky, and
I understand I was completely wrong because she still matters
without winning because of all the drama around. And Stephanie
Vancour did not matter before winning the title, and fuck
she basically doesn't matter now for winning the title because
they said, great, you won the title. Now we're gonna
sideline you for two weeks while we figure out who's

(57:03):
gonna wrestle against you for a ring because it's Crown
Jewel time.

Speaker 1 (57:08):
Well, no, she still matters. I have no problems with this. Look,
your logic wasn't flawed and why you felt Sky should win, Oh,
very sound logic. But you can do everything that you
want to do with all that stuff without her having
the belt. So and that's just the way they chose
to go.

Speaker 2 (57:28):
Stephanie has nothing to do if she doesn't have the belt.
With how little they used her, they would have just
had to create something on the fly. So you were right.
This made much more sense that she needs the elevation
from being champion yep up.

Speaker 1 (57:40):
Next, we got our mixed tag match CM Punk aj
Lee versus Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. I felt very
strongly going in there was no way that you were
gonna have Punk and Lee lose here in aj Lee's
first match back, and sure enough they get to win
and submits Becky Lynch in the process.

Speaker 2 (58:03):
Fuck me, did who did I pick? Did I go
with you or against you on that one?

Speaker 1 (58:07):
I'm pretty sure you went with me.

Speaker 2 (58:09):
I'm pretty sure I went with you because it makes
all the sense in the world, and it made all
the sense in the world for aj Lee to get
the victory to perpetuate now something for the Icy title
to actually do, so that did make a lot of sense.
A bra voa for Becky Lynch for leading aj Lee
through the match. The dual entrance and costumes of the

(58:34):
Rawlins family gave me endless laughter as I continue to
send you memes that I found throughout the internet. Those
are fucking hilarious. Fine match was what it was. You
can't have any finality to the Seth Rawlin Cmpunk story
because we've never yet got to the Seth Rawlin cmpunk
part of the story. So this makes a lot of

(58:55):
sense that they have a victory that Seth Rawlin, that
cmp now has an immediate claim to why he deserves
a title shot. We beat you, and it makes all
the sense in the world of why it's happening at
Crown Jewel. We finally get the match we've all been
decided desiring Seth Robins versus Seampunk because seem Punk is
the number one contender and there's no way we're walking

(59:17):
away from this hot storyline except stick a poker in
my eye. We're getting Cody versus fucking Seth.

Speaker 1 (59:26):
I will not stick a hot poker in your eye.

Speaker 2 (59:29):
No, that's what WWE metaphorically did to me with all
of my excitement for where this could go. Well, I
know they can still get there. Yeah, I just don't
like the delayed storytelling.

Speaker 1 (59:39):
Yeah, you'll still get there eventually. But I hear you.
I hear you.

Speaker 2 (59:43):
He eventually is killing me months in.

Speaker 1 (59:45):
I hear you.

Speaker 2 (59:46):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (59:46):
Main event time, undisputed WWE Championship match, Cody Rose defending
against Drew McIntyre. I didn't have a problem with the match.
The end result was what we thought it was going
to be Did we need the referee f and over
McIntyre like that? Probably? I mean, I guess it gives

(01:00:08):
Drew an out, but I actually thought that took away
from the match.

Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
It took away from the match because we've seen many
a setups for tables, ladders, chairs, many of plunderous illegal maneuvers,
and a ref never gets that involved throwing themselves in
the way of McIntyre. It took away a lot from me.
It dropped down my thought process on the match to
make it just mid. It was the end result that

(01:00:35):
we expected, but again it just brought down the whole
artistry of it. Where why do we consistently have to
have McIntyre lose but leave these breadcrumbs of being able
to give him a logical reason why another factor screwed
him over. I thought we were done with this when

(01:00:56):
we were done with Drew bitching about the bloodline screw
screwing him all over for a year.

Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
Well, that's just what Drew. This sounds way disrespectful. I
don't mean it that way, but that's just what Drew is.
And I think I said that this last week as well.
He's a guy you can plug in the fans will
believe in, can buy into, but he ain't getting that.
He ain't getting that big win when he needs it.

Speaker 2 (01:01:25):
I understand it. I understand it. There's just some guys,
some goals that you know, Chelsea's henchman will get kicked out,
banned from ringside, and she'll lose the Bloodlin will never
be banned from ringside. Ever, that thought isn't even possible.
It's just the way they see it sometimes, man. And

(01:01:47):
we're watching their story.

Speaker 1 (01:01:50):
Real quick. Before this match, you had the Undertaker come
out go PLoP down beside Stephanie McMahon ringside. Remember back
when kidnapped Stephanie back in the day.

Speaker 2 (01:02:02):
I guess not until they actually threw that that. I
saw a still of her on the cross about to
be raised up, and I totally forgot that was even
her on the Dampton.

Speaker 1 (01:02:11):
Yeah, they've moved past that. I guess Stephanie McMahon will
be the first inductee into the twenty twenty six WWE
Hall of Fame. Any thoughts on that?

Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
I was hard pressed to think we were Stephanie McMahon's
three biggest moments in WWE as a performer. I guess
we're going with getting lifted up on that thing by
the Undertaker, getting married to Triple H, and probably somewhere
with Test and Triple H. I don't know. I was
hard pressed to think of it. It's a WW Hall
of Fame, and they will hall of fame. Who they

(01:02:45):
want a hall of fame?

Speaker 1 (01:02:48):
I guess her biggest other than being who she is
getting kidnapped by Triple H, being secretly married to Triple
H after said kidnapping and stealing Triple H away from China,
which I guess didn't actually happen on TV. It was

(01:03:11):
more of a real life thing.

Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
Sure, I'm not gonna argue with a McMahon going into
a McMahon founded hall of fame.

Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
You know what, though, if Vince were still in charge,
it wouldn't have happened. Hell, Vince ain't even in the
damn WW Hall of Fame and probably never will be now,
not until after he dies. If he goes when he
goes in, he won't be around to enjoy it. Now
that's his own doing. But my point is he never

(01:03:45):
saw the need to put himself in. I don't think
he would have put his son in law in last year,
and I don't think he would have put his daughter
in this year. And I'm not saying any of them
don't deserve it, but I'm just saying it's a different WWE.

Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
It only is a different WWE. I will agree with
you on that one.

Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
So that was your Wrestle Palooza again. I enjoyed the show.
I thought it was really good. I just after watching
All Out and then watching that, the differences in the
companies and why I like the one I like more
than I like the other, I thought were highlighted for
those people. I don't think WWE is doing the smart

(01:04:28):
thing here if you're trying to keep people from testing
out AW and they're only watching one that I think
is working, I just don't know how many people do that.
I don't know, though, like because we do both, I
think we assume everybody does both. I would be willing
to bet you not nearly as many people watch both

(01:04:49):
as we think they do. And if that's the case,
then WWE delivered in spades for the people who tuned
into their product. But for those who watch both, I
don't know how you couldn't say AW wasn't the better show.

Speaker 2 (01:05:04):
I did see a lot of complaints because of the
problems logging in. A lot of people came back for
the nostalgia of brock Lesner. Aj Lee saw comments across
social media that those people got what they came for.
They're not planning on renewing, or they wish they could
have sought and they're not happy with the service. If

(01:05:25):
you're just a WWE fan, I think that there was
some underwhelming aspects to this show, and maybe I was
just seeing that cross section of both promotions, but there
even was a general feeling from many media outlets where
this was a mid level event. Give a lot of
respect to Etosky Stephanie van Ker easily the best match

(01:05:48):
on the card start to finish of what we had
from the WWE product. Again, if the ww product is
what you were looking for, you still had an amazing
entrance from the USO's you got John Cena, rock Lesner,
you got what you came to see, you got those stars,
And for all of us that are judging everything else,

(01:06:10):
it's kind of what we've come to expect, is that
it's gonna be lesser than when you see a promotion
that over delivers in the way that AW does and
a talent that looks to steal the show each match.

Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
Michael. Last week we talked about WrestleMania going to Saudi
Arabia in twenty twenty seven. Later this week, tickets go
on sale for WrestleMania forty two, which will be in
Las Vegas next year. And uh jiminy Christmas. Are these
ticket prices extraordinary? Have you seen them? Was it?

Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
Eight hundred and fifty dollars to get in there at the.

Speaker 1 (01:06:52):
Top level for two nights Section four hundred, which is
your upper upper upper upper level, four hundred and fifty
four dollars fifteen cents. This is before any ticketmaster fees,
handling fees, the fees to send them to your phone
or email. Yeah, that that's your your bottom base ticket price.

(01:07:17):
Now when all these sell out and Ticketmasters reselling them
through their resale deal and all that, and of course
Ticketmaster being sued by the Justice Department over that, Yeah,
those tickes are gonna be extraordinary. On the floor Section
A one for both nights, eight nine hundred and ninety

(01:07:37):
eight dollars, again before any fees, any handling fees, any
of that stuff, right at nine grand.

Speaker 2 (01:07:45):
Good for TKO that they can drive the take your
prices up this much and think to make that kind
of money unfortunate to the wrestling fans that are selling
their homes so that they can now and enjoy these events.
Like you said, it's an extraordinary extravagant pricing on this

(01:08:09):
event that intimidates me from a consumer standpoint of wanting
to attend myself.

Speaker 1 (01:08:17):
I wonder if the fact that fans know the following
year they're probably not going to have the option of
going that people who maybe were on the fence, do
I want to spend that much money? Do they take
the plunge and do it.

Speaker 2 (01:08:31):
There's that possibility. It's also the possibility that does it backfire?
Does that people become less appreciative of such a profit
driven entity that again, it's hard to think of these
prices associated with families, and this is a family based product,

(01:08:52):
as proved by the Legion of Children not just leading
out John Senna but crying when he got by brock Lestar.

Speaker 1 (01:09:02):
Please stop doing the Johnson a thing. That's killing me.
I know I did it the whole show last week,
but yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:09:08):
It's really killing say family based product and this is
not family base pricing.

Speaker 1 (01:09:16):
Well, here's what I would say to that, and I
don't think you're wrong at all. We'll see how these
tickets sell, and if they're able to move these tickets,
and something tells me they will, then it's not a
bad thing. Now, it may price a lot of people out.
If there are other people that are still willing to
pay it, and you're putting in comparable attendance numbers that

(01:09:39):
you did last year, then they'd be from a business standpoint,
they'd be foolish not to have these prices.

Speaker 2 (01:09:47):
So yeah, from a business standpoint, it hurts to say this.
Then as a media member and someone that is finsically associated.
For a family standpoint, then you almost have to cheer
for failure. Like you said, they succeed and the prices
won't change, and if history is anything, they're only going
to go up. So it makes this a less attainable

(01:10:11):
family access to family entertainment than something on which we
grew up on and it was something easily payable for
our families.

Speaker 1 (01:10:22):
Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how many tickets they
actually move for this, but I bet they do very
well despite these ticket prices. Anything else you wanted to
hit on?

Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
Trying to think was there anything else in the pro Wrestling.
Oh shout out to and I don't know where he's
going to go, what his future looks like. But Tatsuya Naito,
I believe has had his last appearance with New Japan
Pro Wrestling. This was a guy that put the company
on his back for a long time. Matches with Nakamora,

(01:10:58):
with Okada, with aj Styles, Vin Balach, some absolute classics.
I don't know what's next for Naito, but apparently he's
no longer with New Japan, so best wishes for him
in his future endeavors. Good luck to and Draddy out
of these back with c m l L. If you
want to talk about any of that stuff, hit me up.

Speaker 1 (01:11:19):
On the X.

Speaker 2 (01:11:20):
It's at frankl Micah last name on the first.

Speaker 1 (01:11:23):
