(00:00):
Welcome to Jason Powell's Pro Wrestling Boompodcast. Hey, production of Pro Wrestling
dot Net. Get ready for thelatest news, analysis and interviews featuring big
names from the world of pro wrestling. Here comes the Boom. Welcome too

(00:36):
Pro Wrestling Boom Live. I'm JasonPowell here the day after aw All in
the Big Stadium show. Aw's firsttime ever in London, first time ever
in a true stadium. I knowthey run to one at Arthur Rash Stadium,
but this one is a lot biggerthan that, and they sold over
eighty one thousand tickets. A remarkablefeat for a young company to pull that

(00:59):
off. A great gamble by Tonyton to run the Wembley Stadium show.
He did say afterward they're doing itagain next year. Not only are they
doing it again, they're doing itat the same time. I think it's
August twenty fifth, it's a Saturday, I'm sorry, a Sunday, and
then they will come back again thefollowing Labor Day weekend with all Out.

(01:19):
Not a big fan of that one. I mean, we'll see how this
year's does. I'm fine with themgoing back to Wembley. Don't get me
wrong. When you sold eighty onethousand tickets. Like, look, even
if they lose half, and I'mnot saying they're going to be if they
were to lose half of the attendantsnext year, it's still forty thousand.
I mean, you're gonna have alittle egg on your face for losing that

(01:41):
many. But that I mean thisyear. I look at it going in
when they announced this is going,Hey, if they sell thirty thousand tickets,
I consider this a success. Soanything under that as a disappointment.
But if they get to thirty, that to me was kind of the make
or break I guess mark for theshow, and they exceeded that by fifty
one thousand tickets, so obvious theywant to reach the same number top it

(02:02):
if possible. They labeled it asellout, but there were certainly some open
seats, so I'm not sure howthey came up with the sellout figure.
But again, I mean, whatan amazing feat for a company that is
four years into its existence to runa stadium show and have as many people
there as they did. I gavethe show a B grade. When Jake

(02:22):
Barnette will prue it and I gottogether for our same day audio review that's
available for dot net members. Andbefore I bring my co host onto the
show, I do want to giveyou a heads up that time is running
out, who are basically down tothe final few days here of the dot
net membership's sale. That we're doingfifty cents for one month of membership,

(02:43):
seven bucks off or usual price. And if you are looking for a long
term subscription, you can also usethat the coupon code that I'm gonna give
you to take seven bucks off ofany of our subscription rates. So if
you're looking for a year, youknock seven bucks off that six months,
same thing. The coupon code isSummer two three, Summer twenty three,

(03:04):
all one word, and you enterthat when you go to PW Membership dot
net and you will get ad freeaccess to the website. You will get
all of our exclusive ad free membersaudio shows, and there are a ton
of them, including that show thatwe did just yesterday. For instance,
I'll be by tonight with raw Johnmord Is the same night audio review of
NXT. I will be doing theActually Jake Burnett will be handling Dynamite coverage

(03:27):
this week because I will be ata fantasy football draft and then Friday,
I'll be taking the SmackDown show withJake's place, and that will be a
same night audio review as well, and then live coverage of the big pay
per view events this weekend, thep l E from WWE with Payback and
then All Out again on Sunday, and again the members will get same night
audio reviews of those shows, andthen Q and A will return when we're

(03:52):
not doing this on a Monday, and do you want to give you one
more heads up before we bring theco host in. We'll be doing this
again next week. I haven't talkedto my co host to see if he's
available. Note the difference though, with the Monday being Labor Day in the
United States, it is going tobe a Tuesday edition of Pro Wrestling Boom
Live, So it's going to bea Tuesday I believe that September fifth,

(04:12):
we'll go at the same start timeof one Central, two Eastern, and
we'll be taking your calls coming outof the Payback and All Out shows,
and as usual today too. Imean, even though we're certainly gonna be
talking about all in all current eventsrelated pro wrestling questions are welcome, So
if there's a question you have aboutWWE or anything in pro wrestling today.
Don't hesitate just because we're kind offraming this is the all. In addition,

(04:36):
there's certainly going to be plenty oftopics to discuss. With that said,
I've rambled on enough. Let's bringin the man. He is the
one and only servant. Well, there's other survivor Hall of famers. He's
probably my favorite, I know asrupert in and I'm kidding, he has
no one an only Johnny fair Play. You can follow him on social media

(04:56):
at Johnny fair Play. Remember noh and Johnny, Johnny, how are
you? Man? Wonderful? Canyou hear me? Okay? So far,
so good? Okay, it's makingsure? Is that better? It's
gonna help us the volume here. It's a little staticky. I'm not sure
what's up. And I think wehave a little delay. I want to

(05:17):
warn people about that. So ifit sounds like we're cutting each other off
at times, it's not. We'renot being rude. There's just a slight
delay sometimes when we do this show. And so yeah, that that does
happen. But Johnny, what didyou think of all here? It was
good? I'm going to give ita be at best, because I felt

(05:39):
like nothing was resolved coming out ofthe pay per view, and that's like
I want that. I want lotsof things to be resolved, and I
think their defense would be, yeah, but we have All Out this weekend,
and I think that kind of worksagainst this annual stadium show. I
think AW needs its own WrestleMania typeevent that's signature event where fans know this

(06:00):
is it, this is the bigone. You know, there's not every
match's going to give you that resolutionyou're looking for, but the majority of
it's going to. The big stuffis going to and I wish they had
that When you do All Out aweek later. If this is going to
become an annual thing and again they'redoing it again next year, I think
naturally you're going to save some stufffor that show and it's not going to
feel as important. And I'm withyou. I think that's a very fair

(06:23):
criticism that we didn't get any kindof resolution. Do you blame them for
not giving us a resolution with AdamCole and MGF, I mean, it
was never promised, but I knowI was hoping for it, and I'm
a little leary that they can't blamethem, you know, for extending this
when the numbers have been so good. But I also am a little leary
that, Okay, how long areyou going to stretch this out? Guys?

(06:45):
Are we going to be going?Man? I should have pulled the
trigger at Wembley. Where are youon that Roderick Strong promise that we would
have resolution of this at the endof all end, He said we'd see
the real Adam Cole and the realMGF. So did we see the real
Adam call in the real MJF.I don't think what we had at the
end of the ball in will bewhat we have at the end of either

(07:08):
next week or a month from now. Yeah, I mean it's possible they
set something up for all outs andwe get one of them stabbing the other
in the back there. I don'tknow. I would have done it at
the big stadium show. Look,if they've got enough material, you know,
this doesn't have to end now. It's just that's the big question mark.

(07:29):
And I've been a big fan ofwhat they've done when they've been in
the ring together, not just wrestlingwith the back and forth on the mic.
What I haven't been a fan ofis the videos not all have been
back. The ode to Peyton ManningSaturday and at Live skit was kind of
fun, but the one they playedon the last week the go Home Show
was dreadful and I just don't needmore of that. Hopefully they do have

(07:49):
an end date in mind, andit's not just as well it's going well.
I'll just keep making it up aswe go along. I mean,
if they can pull it off, awesome. Hey, since we already have
some people, I'm gonna give thenumbers to call into the show. But
we do have looks like at leastthree on hold. The number is seven
seven three eight nine seven six threetwo one, And once you do,

(08:11):
be sure to hit one on yourphone. That lets us know that you
want in on the conversation and you'renot just in listen only mode. We
will start today with a familiar areacode six one five. Who is this
and where are you calling from? This is your other amazing, wonderful co
host. Every once in a while, Sean, not that number of Merpsboro.

(08:33):
See, it's always a pleasure totalk to you guys. Man,
how are y'all doing? Doing?Great? Man? I would have actually
would have been really nervous. Hadit been like somebody else and I'm like
using that tone, like who areyou? But fortunately it was you.
One of these days I'll be surprisedby someone in six one five. What's
on your mind? Sean? Well, first, I want I wanted to

(08:54):
tell Johnny because I thought it wasfunny. Johnny. Have you seen your
interview that you do with sec ashe scoops the other day or like this
week or in the last week orso? Have you seen that that get
I thought it. I've ben't watchedit because I did it, Like,
I mean, did he chop itup and use the answers out of order
or something? No? He Johnny, he didn't spell your name right,

(09:16):
man, he put the h darehim? How dare him? I was
like, yeah, I didn't wantto watch it. After that, I
was like, this is bad.Come on, May you have just guests
on your show a survivor again,Hall of famer, one of the best
ever do one of the best villainsever do it? And he spills the
freaking name wrong? Like what aTravis great Assage, greatest villain, greatest

(09:39):
villain in the history of reality television. According to EA's new show House the
villains, like you have a chanceto prove that on this new show that's
coming up. Johnny, you haven'treally proven it yet, so why don't
you tell people about it? Well, you said it, but you gotta
prove it. Man, you're onthe show, tell people about it quick.
Uh. It's the ten greatest villainsin the history of reality television.

(10:00):
For those of you wondering what Iwas doing in Bolivia, I was on
in Bolivia. I was in LosAngeles in a mansion, and uh,
yeah, it's it's yes. Ilike Roddy Strong, m a liar.
Uh, and I promise there willbe a lot to lying starting Thursday,
October twelfth. It is every Thursdaynight at ten pm Eastern on e at

(10:26):
the Entertainment. But the premiere isall the episodes or sixty minutes, which
except of the premier, the premierewill be simulcast on e USA, Sci
Fi and Bravo all at the sametime, which is insanity. And so
we expect a pretty good number anda pretty good lead in going into the
rest of the season. So getready. I think it's the first show

(10:48):
that I'm aware of it has everhad a four network simulcast for a premiere.
Oh I don't. I just knowthat I'm gonna be wrapping up Raw
one night, do a little bitof work out, a little bit of
work afterward, I'm gonna look upand I'm gonna see her smiling face,
because they're gonna play that right afterRaw. A couple of times, I
do a lot of smiling. I'mlooking forward to it, and I think

(11:09):
I'm sure they did this because ofme. In my well known Beer League
softball schedule, I think the thursdayit starts is the first game or the
first thursday we won't have ball,so I will be able to watch it
live and probably tweet all sorts ofhorrible things about you while I do.
Sean, what else you got?Well? First, Johnny, I want
to say too, I wanted toget your thoughts at some point before the

(11:31):
time is up today and just tokind of hear what you think about Big
Brother, because I've actually liked itso far. I think it's seen it
so far. It's in one ofmy They're not a favorite because it's too
early, but it's been interesting,so you know, not right now,
I want to hear your thoughts playingRown, But what you thought about going
back to the show face, I'ma good op. They going to go
listen to you with you. Ihaven't listened to it yet. As far

(11:52):
as the production of the show,it was cool. I mean the production
was cool. The look was cool. All that was cool. Like I
I'm with you on that, youknow, I thought that was fun.
I mean I was letty more downon it than you guys. I probably
would give it probably a probably Asee, I'm probably in the middle of
the food and I want to golike you're we're talking about the main event,

(12:13):
okay. I mean I've been inthe minority with you guys. I
have not liked anything they've done.I have not. It's felt, you
know, forced to me. It'sfelt phony. It's felt they're han't been
they haven't made it feel real tome. I've just been like I've too
much. And so I'm like, all right, I want to get invested
in this match. I want tosee what they're going to do. And

(12:33):
then during the match, it wasfine at the beginning. You know,
they're getting invested in what's going on. They're kind of telling their story,
and then they start doing the sand rest arms and I'm sorry. I
you know, I hate w Wwhen they do it. I'm gonna hate
AW when they do it. Stopdoing it. It's stupid, It takes
me out of it. It feelsit just feels too much. Then they

(12:54):
started doing the you know, passingthe chair back and forth. That feels
this corny to me. I'm like, God, like, we don't need
this. This is not helping meinvest in the story you're trying to tell.
And they just went to me.They went back and forth the double
pin. I didn't like that. They're like, we know there's gonna be
more, Okay, five more minutes, you know, yes, and just

(13:16):
says yes because he wants to doit this time because he's his friend to
quote his friend, okay, AndI can buy into that. They just
went too much, guys. Ijust thought overall it went too far hard.
It was too much, you knownow, you know, taught more
about the main event, what youwere thinking as you were watching it,
because I just there was too muchfor me. They didn't went back and
forth way too much. In mypersonal view, Johnny, let's start with

(13:39):
you on this one. I didn'tmind it. I mean, like,
so the whole program has been playfulgoing into this, you know what we
thought would potentially be a blowoff match, which it was not. So so
of course, you know the uh, some of the stuff in the match
was playful, but I think forthe most part it was a serious match.

(14:00):
There it was dramatic. Uh Uh. I felt that I felt what
Adam Cole is going through at theend, and I felt like I felt
what MJF was going through at theend. And then I feel like,
uh, I know what most ofmy friends feel like when when they are

(14:22):
Roderick strong, and I would ratherhang out with anyone else than them.
So I get all those things. And so you know, if if the
match had been portrayed more serious goinginto the match, I would have a
problem with it. But I meanwe had outback uh things. I mean
like, you know, the moodwas set, and so you know,

(14:46):
why would the match like this wasn'ta blood feud. I feel like it's
going to turn into a blood feud, but it didn't. At this point,
it's not a blood feude. SoI'm cool with with the with the
the fun nature. I am awere the Eddie Burrow cheer spot forever.
Let's let's let's retire it. Yeah, I'm with you on that one.

(15:07):
It's just been done over and overand over again. Like Johnny, you
know, it's because of the waythey set the table for this Going into
it, I wasn't expecting them togo sixty minutes of a mac classic without
any silliness or drama. I expectedthis to be overbooked, yeah, you
know, and I expected it tobe overbooked, and it was. I

(15:30):
mean, I say that it soundslike an insult, but it's it's not.
It's just, you know, it'sinstead of being a traditional bag you
know, straight up match without abunch of drama. You knew there was
going to be something. What Iwhat I was left disappointed by is that
we didn't get the resolution. Andif the masses are content with MJF and
Cole stretching out their friendship and theykeep coming back for more, and the

(15:52):
company doesn't run out of material inthe middle of this sage before major endpoint
is planned of an upcoming pay perview, what have you, it should
be fine. I wanted it,but as long as the masses are cool
with it, that's the only thingthat matters. And Wembley the stadium.
I mean, they seem pretty happywith what they ended up getting. And
again, the big question now isdo they have enough material? I know

(16:15):
they claim or they at least theyused too. We don't hear this so
much anymore, long term booking andall of this, and there's just times
where I look at and go,no, it's not I'm sorry, And
so I'm hoping in this case they'vemapped it out and things are going to
be okay, and they know wherethey're going, they know how to get
there, and whenever that final payoffcomes, it's going to be an awesome
moment. I just wish it wouldhave been on your biggest stage in front

(16:40):
of that crowd. But yeah,I mean I didn't. I was not
surprised to see a ref pump andthen all the silliness and everything. But
Sean, yeah, I can't blameyou. Also, if you've never been
into the friendship, then naturally you'regoing to dislike this more than I think
the average aw fan. Yeah, and there's so much more. You know.
I don't want to go too muchinto it because I just think I

(17:03):
know what you're saying. As faras the fans love it, Okay,
they do love it, and hehad the ratings when we're on the TV
screen or do it because of coursethey're good accident and when what they do,
what does it mean? It's it'smaking it a better product, it's
making it more fun to watch,or any of that. I just I
think aw has so many flaws thateven if they were doing this perfect,
there's still so many other flaws thatI think. And then then to me

(17:25):
in the match, you just go, you can have a restaurant. But
to have the two him get bumpedtwice in the match, I'm like,
Okay, you're kind of losing mea little bit. And then they're doing
like little things to try to youknow, if they didn't would have done
the double pan. I think thatwould have been fine too. I think
I'd have been better off with itthan they did the double pan. And
I'm like, okay, if thisis like really, and then I just

(17:45):
want them. I'm more intrigued. When they did the ending, I was
like, Okay, well I'm definitelyintrigued because they didn't do it, I
guess, And I'm like, allright, well, maybe I don't know
who's gonna turn. That's really interestingnow that They've got me kind of fooled.
I don't know where they're going,but yeah, it'll be interest to
see. I'm really curious what theydo. Where do you think they end
up going next next weekend? Likewhat matches do you think they actually do?

(18:06):
Do you think they had M Jeffand Cold team up somehow against the
Kingdom, which I think I wouldn'tbe into bad, but do you think
that's possible? Like where do youthink they're actually going to go for this
match next weekend? Bolly? Ifthey do. I mean that Screams and
I liked Tavin and Ben in alot. This isn't a slight on them,
but that they haven't been featured prominentlyon AW television. I mean they
just kind of hang out with RoddyStrong that Screams pre show. To me

(18:30):
again, if they wanted to tryto do that for whatever reason they want
to have a loaded pre show, you could do that match there, Johnny.
I don't know. I mean that'skind of the question, And it's
possible they thought they knew where theywere going and because of whatever happened backstage
with CM punk and Jack Perry, whether it was I mean, if it
was a legit incident, then it'ssomething they need to figure out. If

(18:52):
it wasn't and they're they're really okay, let me lay this out really quick.
The reason that I think it's okayto be suspicious of this one is
that it just the timing was tooperfect. Their matches just happened to be
back to back. I didn't thinkPerry's line was anything that should set Punk
off. I'm not surprised that theydid at the same time, if that

(19:12):
makes sense, because it's Punk. But yeah, it's just the timing's too
perfect for it. And oh itjust happens to be right when the show
is starting, we can get evenmore buzz. So but I can't,
you know, I just don't knowif so, if they're working everybody,
why if they're not working everybody,My god, it when is the drama
going to end? But the pointbeing that if they thought they were going

(19:34):
to go like MJF against seem Punkfor that real world championship, that could
you know, obviously that could bechanged if but I mean, Punk keeps
surviving basically, and I wouldn't besurprised if it's Punk against Ricky Stark's because
they went back and changed when RickyStark's suspension actually expired, so you gotta

(19:56):
think he's going to be on thisshow. Surprised he didn't play a part
costing Punk a match against show orsomething. But and then for the World
Championship, Johnny, I mean,I guess I am leaning toward maybe a
rematch because it's not like they've beensetting anyone else up for a singles program
with MGF that I can see.So maybe it's that simple. We do

(20:18):
get a rematch, and maybe theangle takes place there, maybe it doesn't.
I think it's a rematch, andI think if I lived in London,
you're not You're not selling me acrappy, crappy seat in an eighty
thousand person arena because you've already warnedme that nothing's happening to the following week

(20:41):
in Chicago. That is something.Yeah, I mean, people who might
be really excited about attending the showin person today may have a different perspective
depending on what they do coming, you know, what they do it all
out and how they feel then like, oh, they saved all of this
for that, But we don't know. We'll find out when we get there.
But I think it's a valid concernthe way I let's see, it's

(21:02):
three oh five and two six two. You guys are on deck in that
order. But Sean, do youhave more for us? Yeah? Well,
first I wanted to bring up Jason. You brought up about your sale.
Guys, if you're not a dotnet member like you know, just
do it, because again, Jason'sone of the best journalists, you know,
one of the most fair minded journalists. I mean him waited to me,
you're the two best because I talkto you guys the most. But

(21:22):
it's because you're you guys are thetwo best, and I enjoy always talking
wrestling with you. So you haveto be a member. You gotta check
out everything he's doing because he's thereal deal, people, I'm telling you.
And I wanted to bring up thatI didn't like Surrea winning the title
just because in England I didn't likethat at all. Come on, guys,
she's a heel unless you're turning herbaby face then okay, but she

(21:44):
just turned heel and you're gonna turnher pob God, the women don't get
me start on there. So thelast thing I wanted to bring up was
about to you know, staying Stampeterand Eric and Marina whatever you want to
call it. Again, I don'twant to harp on it. I just
I didn't like it, guys.I just didn't like it. I'm really
I'm a John Moxley fan as muchas anybody. I'm just getting tired of

(22:07):
him bleeding. I'm sick of himbleeding in every match and doing this stupid
the forks and the freaking bamboo crap. I'm just over it at this point,
I guess. And it's sad becauseI'm a real fan of his.
I just think the match was justtoo much for me. Some people,
you guys might have liked it,and that's fine. Again, I respect
it. I just I'm over thatkind of match. I love Kingston too.

(22:30):
I thought he was buying for whathe was doing, but him and
Moxley doing the middle fingers that Idid kind of chuckle with that a little
bit, but I just I'm sorry. It just doesn't do it for me
anymore. I wanted to hear whatyou guys think about that and where they
might be going with BCC, becauseI really don't know where they're going with
at this point, and you know, you know, Stu coming out with

(22:51):
the Orange passidy, it's just kindof like, I don't know, it's
just too much. So I wantto hear what you guys thought about that.
And Jason, like I said, you're one of the best. Johnny
Man, it's a pleasure talking withhim. I hope I can talk to
you next week. Hit your ownThanks taken all guests, awesome man,
Thank you. Always great to hearfrom you. Thank you for that endorsement.
Everybody I would try to trademark isjust do it when it comes to
signing up for membership. But Ihave a feeling that there's a shoe company

(23:12):
that may have beat me to it. You can follow his advice though,
visit PW membership dot net and thenenter the coupon code at Summer two three
again. That'll get you seven dollarsoff of any of our subscriptions, including
the one month, so all you'repaying for one month If you just want
to try us out, it's fiftycents. That's it, fifty cents pocket

(23:33):
change. You can find it inyour couch, you can find it in
your car. Fifty cents. AndI can tell you this much. When
we get to next Tuesday show,we will not be talking about the sale.
It'll be over, So get onthat while you can. Now.
John Moxley, Johnny, I cantell you this much, man. I
had two people over for the SummerSlam pay per view or appeally and longtime

(23:55):
buddies of mine, Hey to Daveand Pouch, and I haven't seen him
since the pan demically just kind ofworked out that this was the time that
they came back, and both ofthem, one of them said, he's
you know, I've always been aJohn Moxley fan. What happened? Second
guy, Yeah, I love JohnMoxley. What happened? So Sean is
not alone. There's a lot ofpeople that were really high on John Moxley

(24:18):
and are souring on him because it'sjust, again, like John said,
too much blood or just there's reallyno focus there this whole. I cringed
when Bryan Danielson said he hopes BlackpoolCombat Club never ends. I'm like,
I want it to end tomorrow. It's just a bunch of random fights.
They seem to lose most of thebig ones anyway. It doesn't seem to

(24:40):
be going anywhere. So I can'tblame anyone who's down on Moxley and this
whole BCC thing. Is it doingmore for you than it is me?
Oh? God, No, Ithink Moxley's greatest talent is his mouth.
I mean, I don't understand whythis guy just doesn't cut passionate promos about
his law of professional wrestling and championships. Uh and uh, I don't know,

(25:03):
bleed three times a year. I'llgive you three. So I don't
even want that, but I'll giveyou three. I don't know's I Uh,
it appears as though he's happy, and that's very important, and you
know, and the job that youhave that you remain happy. But I
would be happier if you didn't bleed. He thinks it adds realism because in

(25:30):
combat sports, it's not just akey go ahead. Yeah. Well,
I don't even care about the theI don't care about the combat or the
bleeding so much as garbage wrestling likehe's a great wrestler, like go back
and watch uh he uh, wellno, I was go back for the

(25:52):
go back and watch some old uhdicks later matches. I mean, not
not the not the rebel Dicks laterthat we saw at the at the end
of his run in WWF or eventhe last stuff he did in WCW.
But old Dick up, well,I guess Young Dicks later. Uh,
he was amazing and he would roughand gruff. And if you go back

(26:14):
and watch that guy that if there'san ambrose, that's not the garbage dressling
Ambrose. That that you got thatwe all liked in the shield and right
out of the shield coming to aew that gut right there, that's Young
Dicks later, So steal that.So don't steal onita. Yeah, I
just I think it's he thinks again. His explanation is that there's bleeding in

(26:40):
combat sports, does not just saveit for the key moments. Problem is,
you're one guy in the show. You're the typically the guy who's doing
it on the most consistent basis. It stands out because not everyone's going to
do it, nor should they. This is pro wrestling. You can control
when that happens, and if yousave it for key moments, then it's
going to have the most impact. The way he does it, it's become

(27:03):
a joke. There's just too muchof it, the garbage stuff. I
just think we've been overexposed. Nowit's time to pull back. I'm fine
they did Stadium Stampede and Anarchy andthey're in it and Blood and Guts,
but it's all been kind of crammedin and now I think it's time to
pull back on this. I don'tknow that they will, but you're just
going to desensitize your audience, saveit for when it counts, and I
think I'm hoping they do it.I don't have a great faith that they

(27:26):
will, so I do want toget Yeah, I don't even like Blood
and guts the war games even likeBlood and Guts. I think blood and
guts the whole purpose of war games. Two rings in a cage with the
cover so no one gets in orout. The first thing they do is
leave the cage, and it's allabout the weapons inside there. You don't

(27:47):
need the weapons you're inside. OK. That's the weapon wheel, and that
goes for every company because they're alldoing it now. Lockdown kind of started
it where they had the weapons attachedto the K and now WWE when they
do what they're bringing in weapon like, no, we don't need that.
I'm totally with you. I'm justwe grew up on the original wargames and

(28:11):
yeah, you didn't need all thisextra stuff that they do. The match
sold itself, and now I justfear they've raised the bar to people expect
this kind of thing, and ifthey don't get it, there's gonna be
people grumbling about it. I mean, there's people chanting for tables during a
blood and guts smash. For thelove of God. Anyway, I don't
want to give out the numbers andwe'll get to our next batch of callers

(28:32):
seven seven three eight nine seven sixthree two one. I'm Jason Powell of
Pro Wrestling dot Net. He isJohnny Fairplay, the Survivor Hall of Famer
and soon to be the number onestar on E. Get out of the
Way Kardashians or whoever the hell holdsthat spot today. No more Bellas.
It's Johnny Fairplay starting in like hesaid, October. Yeah, the middle

(28:53):
of October on E. I'm lookingforward to that. But let's go to
again two six two on deck threeoh five. You been waiting a while?
Who's this? Where you calling fromthe DJA. Good to hear from
you. What's going on? Igot one question for Johnny real first before
I start? Sure, did Vicecalling in a half? Did Vice call

(29:18):
you for the Olpi and Anthony thingbecause they didn't a tree for them.
No, they should have it sucks. I got I gotta, I got
I gotta. I got a wildsticker on my my cooler in my basement
right now. I remember you wereon the show. But that's why I
Daki was kind of crazy how theydid the documentary. They didn't reach out

(29:41):
to you, because that was oneof the best, you know, funniest
ones on the You know when Iwhen I when I pooped in Sandy Kane's
hat. Yeah, oh, Ipunched Bobo Bill Bill Burr was there.
I punched Bobo as hard as Icould that it was insane And now I
was there. Uh. When whenI finished my first season Survivor, Uh,

(30:04):
You're required to do Howard Stern andI was like, that's cool.
I was like, however, I'mI'm friends with Opie and Anthony and I'd
like to do both and and uh, and they wouldn't let me, uh
do Opian Anthony because Howard, youknow, and so we've settled on I

(30:26):
would do Howard if I could doRon and Fez right after Opian Anthony.
And then when I went back foruh for fans versus favorites. They're like,
we'd like you to do Howard Sternto start the season, and I'm
like, great, as long asI can go downstairs and do Opie and
Anthony, And they finally budged andallowed me to DESI. So it was

(30:48):
this for are you referencing the twopart shock Jock thing that Vice did?
Yes? Is it good? Ihave it on the dvr. I never
know when the helmet a fine timeto watch it. Seen it because there's
a lot of people who got cutout of it. That's why I was
got seen Johnny Day Rich out tohim, But would you recommend watching it
or no, I've never seen it? Oh, okay, gotcha. But

(31:12):
how did you so you don't knowthey cut me out? Yeah, that's
what that's I was wondering me becausethey they didn't put a lot of good
characters in there. That's why Iwas wandering to reach out to you.
Yeah, I mean there there's plentyof a wrestling documentary, like, they've
never reached out to me for uh, what's the dark Side of the Ring.

(31:33):
Has never reached out to me forthat. So I reels is doing
a wrestling thing and I think it'slike an eight episode deal and I'm on
every episode of that. That's cool. So yeah, I was just curious
about that. You know, whenwe reach out to Opie though, he's
definitely still doing a podcast and willdefinitely put you on there, you know,
so yeah, he's uh, yeah, we just haven't been able to

(31:57):
work out our schedules. Uh.The last time I was in New York,
I guess he was at the beach. And then the last time I
was in h philadelp wherever he was, he was in New York stuff.
Yeah, well we'll dill that in. I'll catch hup with him. Yeah,
because you could probably talk to himabout it, because I'm just shocked
that they didn't, you know, reach out to you for sure, so
I had to ask. So Iguess let me start my first question,

(32:21):
my first question with Jack Perry.I thought for sure they were going to
push his kid, you know, bring in Land and Jay something, you
know what I'm saying, and thenthe Punk thing, and then he said
some comments and they you know, did the same with the class and then
there was something backstage with him andPunk. I just don't know at the

(32:42):
end of the day, like Ifeel like they didn't give him a chance.
Like I feel like if they hada manager for him or something,
they couldn't pushed him. I don'tknow, Hook is he's good rest of
it, but he needs a manager. He guess nobody talked to him,
just like you know Perry does.Like at the end of the day,
you know know where Hook it's alwaysgo. But you know, Perry definitely
had a chance because he was likea Donmick, you know what I'm saying.

(33:06):
So at the dinner to do,what do you guys always think?
Well, I was surprised that theywent with the title change. I mean,
I guess when you try to holdthe funeral for the belt, maybe
that's your first clue the guy's notgoing to keep it because that would be
his next move and they should getrid of the belt. They have too
many on their TV, but they'renot going to so I guess that was

(33:27):
the move to go to Hook.I just felt like it played out too
soon. I felt like it wasreally rushed that Hook went on this midnight
train going anywhere and disappeared for weeksand then he comes back immediately gets a
title shot and wins his belt backlike that's it. But I don't know
that. I'm more concerned, like, if everything that happened with Punk is
a shoot, I'm more concerned aboutthat being more of a derailing moment.

(33:49):
It probably would lead to Perry insteadof being on collision to just being on
dynamite only. And they seem tomake that work, so that's always possible.
But uh, yeah, I don'tthink like him losing the FTW title
is like the end of the roador anything like that. Johnny. It
just was kind of like, Oh, that that's ship for that rung.
Huh you've you've already lost that title? What did you think of that one?

(34:13):
A give the belt back to Conrad. His belt goes on his shelf.
I don't want to see it anymore. Here there we go with that
cash doesn't even belbody, did Ithink? So? Yeah, I'm pred
I'm I'm I've bet dollars to doughnutsthat that's because I know Contry has the

(34:37):
first ECW belt and then he's gotI think he had the FTW belt as
well. Okay, I may bewrong, but I'm pretty sure that's that's
that's Conrad. Uh, be getrid of the music doesn't work, so
just I mean you're a bad guy, you get rid of the jungle boy
song and just just do some metalor something. Just don't. I don't
care what you do, just notit. Just it just doesn't work for

(34:57):
that character. I mean that thatworks for the mice so like, and
I don't feel that that Jack Perryis doing a Maestro gimmick. And if
he is, he's doing a horriblejob. And then uh see he needs
the mouthpiece. Uh. I wouldput Anna Jay with him. I think
it would just be pos just outwith what no, no, as a

(35:22):
literal mouth mouthpiece like him just makingout with her for half the promo.
That's heat sure, okay. Uh. And then I mean and if you
want, like, you know,an actual, you know voice mouthpiece,
I'm available, and you know, put me with with Jack and and uh
but I would prefer to work Saturdaynight. So we got we got to

(35:45):
smooth this thing over. I hopethe whole punk Jack thing is a is
a work. And that's why wekind of rushed through the hook, getting
the ft W belt back and blahblah blah. And as far as a
mouthpiece for a hook, he's ababy face. I never ever believe in
a manager for a baby face.I think it's the dumbest thing ever.
I hated Sir Oliver Humperdink being themouthpiece for Bam Bam Bigelow and WWE when

(36:09):
when we've seen Oliver Humperdink is thebad guy, not have it made sense.
I hated every second of it.And so I can live with Axon
Bronson showing up every now and then, you know, to talk smack to
someone for hook and then hook backingit up. But that's it. So
I know, no good guy managers. They're the worst a man. Yeah,

(36:31):
there's not many good ones, that'sfor sure. Some have worked,
most don't. DJ what else?Okay, My second thing is I ask
Greg this last night, but letme you guys ask this because I really
do feel on this one. SoRiyah, I feel like in general,

(36:51):
I don't know, she came downwith a neck injury and then she keeps
on saying over nod. They kepton the show for five years and at
the end of the day, Ifeel like, at the end of day,
they're gonna really put her with kidgloves because if you really watch her
matches, they weren't they have been, you know, And then like Okay,

(37:12):
nothing crazy, but I'm just scaredcompared to like giving it's the brick
brit you know what I'm saying.I don't know. I mean there's a
lot of people who don't know whatthey're doing in that company that can really
hurt her really fast. So Ifeel like I don't know. I understand
there was you know, you knowwhere she lived and all this stuff,

(37:34):
But at the end of the day, do you fin it's not going to
be a long time to run,or do you think it's going to be
really long or they're gonna definitely trusther and everything's gonna be good. Seeing
is believing in a long title ring. For me anyway, it's just she's
she. She hasn't worked a tonof matches, and this was more about
the moment in England. I wishthey would have had the foresight to set

(37:57):
it up differently and have her turnfor then so that everybody kind of been
with her, not just the Englishfan said we're happy to see her homecoming,
but everybody watching around the world goingyeah, go get it went in
your home country because it was likeshe's doing doing all these bad spray paint
finishes and being one of the EvilOutcasts, And yeah, they kind of
did the turn during the match, but it could have been better with a

(38:22):
little bit of foresight. Johnny, where were you on this one? And
do you expect her to have along kidle? Rent? I expect her
to win. I'm not sure thatthe Outcasts split up. Maybe they did,
Maybe they have it if they haven't, if, like you know,
Siyah kind of brings them all backtogether here on Dynamite on Wednesday or whatever

(38:44):
one of the eighteen shows, Isee, I could see her if if
the Outcasts are still together, Icould see her hiding behind the Outcasts and
keeping the championship a little longer thanyou would imagine, just because she's not
actually wrestling, she's sending them outto wrestle for her. And uh so,
but if this is a baby facedthing, uh and she doesn't have

(39:06):
the help of the Outcast, Yeah, this is I think it's any real
shorts anything else? Dj oh,Well, let me ask you one thing.
They keeped on showing her best friendover and over, and they talked
about her at the at the youknow, lapdoors. Now, what do
you guys think real quick? Doyou think that they're gonna wait till she

(39:28):
may clear her and a showing thebelt or I mean you know, cause
they keep them saying over and overlike, oh, I don't know,
she might come. You know she'scoming because she's just heard right now.
That's why she's on there. Whoare you okay? Are you talking Mercedes
Money Jamie Hayter, Yes, ohno, yeah, well no, which

(39:51):
one? I'm just kidding. I'msorry. I was distracted by something which
Mercedes. They did a piss poorjob with that. I'm sorry. We
like here she is and they showa camera shot on the pre show.
They show another one randomly during Ithink the acclaimed match or something. There
was no focus on the trio's matchbecause, yeah, we were really concerned

(40:12):
what Mercedes thought of the trio's match. Yeah, that was soil bizarre because
it because it wasn't It wasn't daddyass. It was badass billy. I
would want to know how Mercedes Moneywould was going to react to the badass
and not daddy ass. I didn'tget it. It's just like that's it.

(40:34):
There's I mean, okay, ifthat's all she was going to do
on the show, I just thinkyou time it differently kind of maybe tease.
I don't know, maybe she's notin her contract. They don't want
to tease anything. But the factthat she was there makes me think that
she must be doing something with thiscompany. And you agreed to go on
camera, so yeah, you didn'thave to do an interview or anything but
show he had a key time andmake it feel bigger. Yeah, that

(40:57):
was a swing and a miss.Djag got time for one more that I
got it to two six two.The last thing is I'll do it quick
one because I know that the Adamcall one will take forever. The trio
match, like dear guys are justtalking about. I was like I thought
for sure they weren't gonna win andthey were gonna keep it and then then
it's one. But they're at theend of the day, they need to

(41:19):
get rid of those belts. Butat the end of the day, like
these guys are not gonna hold thosebelts, Like I'd rather than the regular
tag team, not Trickle whatever theheck is team. You don't saying like
Billy Gus is not gonna wrestle alot, Like why they have those those
guys wrestle all the time, andthey made the rules up these guy those
guys and make up new rules likethe scissors has to be the win.

(41:44):
I don't know what the heck isgoing on, but I'm just confused with
these stupid belts. I hate thesebelts. Johnny, are you a fan
of the Trio's titles? I havea I have a bigger problem than the
Trio's title Chase the the the enunciationof the word wimbley. Now. I

(42:07):
watched for I feel like six hoursyesterday and they called it wimbley. But
one of the greatest songs in thein the history of man Folkster in Heaven
begins with I read it in thepapers, I saw it on TV.
I guess there'll be one empty seatwhen I wrestle Wimberley. Are you trying
to tell me that that uh HulkHogan will shoot shoe horning syllables? There?

(42:31):
Oh? Man? I mean,if there's anyone who knows about the
London and England in general and theall of the UK would be the hulkster
Wow, we all mean, Ithink we all need to change the way
we're pronouncing it. Include bridge included. It's over. If if the Hulk
has said this, Johnny it's it'stime to make it official. Yeah it

(42:54):
is a Hulkster in Heaven is oneof the greatest songs. Have you've never
heard it? Holy moly, Uhit's a big, big steaming pile of
the sucking special. So Trio's titles, Yeah You're now Yeah, I hate
them, me too. I hatethem. I hated the world six man

(43:14):
tag Team Jack. I've never likedsix man anything. Von Erics Freebird's the
last time I cared, New Japandecided they were gonna have trios tied or
six man titles because this is kindof a new thing that a W's bringing
in. I don't even mind they'reusing their own vernacular, but I do
kind of roll my eyes at ithasn't worked. Then a ring of honors
will New Japan has six man titles? We need them too? Didn't really

(43:37):
work aw here, we are notreally work Dusty with the Road Warriors,
and they only brought brought them inso that the Road Warriors could turn on
Dusty. Think about it. Maybeokay if you want to keep them around
and have the acclaimed group off withthem Soviet, but what are they doing

(43:58):
with Malachi? Black people should beoutraged? And I don't hear any complaining
about this. If we recall, nobody talks about this part when Cody Roads
starting getting booed in aw he wasworking with Malachi Black. Now we all
focus on what Cody said to gethimself Booden did. Malaki Black was that
over that had a big that hada lot to do with Cody getting booed.

(44:22):
Now he's just doing these you know, usual weird Alistair Black Malachi Black
promos while hanging out in the trio'sdivision. And no one cares about the
trio's Seriously, I'm sure there's somebodyout there that does. I don't know
anyone going, man, I lovethose. I'm so happy they introduced trio's
titles. Get this guy back inthe division. He is a single star.

(44:43):
Enough of this and I've just hadthis bad feeling, Johnny, they
won't Kennya Mega cares about the trio'stitle and I don't. And yeah,
now Maliki Black is the star.Murphy and Brody give him a tag run.
I don't know. I don't getit. I don't get it.
So it appears as though the photosfrom last night leaving London were Punk leaving

(45:07):
with the House of Blacks. Somaybe maybe Punks got some love for them
on the Collision Show and we'll seea singles push and a tag team push.
I know Wade Keller had some anupdated story and what's been going on
with Punk and Jack Perry. Youcan check that out at Pwtorch dot com.
I won't give it all to youhere, but essentially it's there's gonna

(45:29):
be a little more heat. It'sassumed on Perry for triggering this, and
it will be on Punk. Youcan say, well, you know,
whether it's a punk not blameless wayheadline. I think that's very fair because
I think about this band where withlet's say it's all shoot Perry say what
he said on the air, youngerCM Punk I could have seen doing the

(45:50):
same thing and saying that going onthe air and saying something rebellious. And
now maybe younger CM Punk wouldn't havecared if the fight broke out and he
would have stood up for himself.I don't know, but this Cmpunk doesn't
let anything slide, and they hadto. If it's kind of crazy way,
that's part of the reason, Likeyou just you your guard goes up
for work. Is it like noone thought they needed to keep these two

(46:12):
apart immediately, and apparently they didn'tand here we are today. But yeah,
check out wage story over at Pwtorchdot com. I don't even remember.
I was going, DJ, youhave more for us, buddy,
Uh, I don't know. I'llask you one other thing real quick that
I did ask Greg, like switchingpages. Do you guys think that Bray

(46:36):
Wyatt and you know, Undertaker andall this, do you think that this
magic and this weird stuff and allthis other stuff will ever come back?
Is I really think at the endof the day when I go look,
you know at XT, I don'tsee any of you guys doing this stuff.
And none of these other guys arereally going to catch from my I'm

(47:00):
doing this like, you know,I don't think Melissa Melissa's ever going to
come back doing that stuff. Youknow, she has a kid. I
don't know, she might have justretired. I don't know. You know,
I don't think they're going to keepthe legacy on doing this black magic
stuff. I think they're just goingto focus on wrestling. What do you
guys think? All right, thanksfor Colin Man two six two. I'm
coming to you in a moment it'sI don't think it's Paul Eves yah.

(47:24):
I don't think he's just sitting aroundgoing, man, we just got to
find the right person to play thisvoodoo character or whatever. You know,
we're going to do some over thetop thing. I don't think it's his
style. I think his is morebelievable. I don't think he wants to
do anything too hokey. In time, if the right act comes along,
will he Maybe Shawn Michaels I thinkwould be more prone to do it.

(47:47):
Just seeing some of the campy stuffthat he uses in NXT, he's got
kind of a mix. I'm notsaying it's all camp but we had the
wrestling witches, whatever the hell theywere supposed to be. They were doing
their thing, but they didn't reallygo I'm trying to think if there's been
anything too zany and NXT, Ilet again, I think it would be
more likely it would start there andif that character we were to click,

(48:10):
then maybe it would make its wayto the man roster. But I don't
think that's necessarily Paul Evex style. So it is what it is. So
Johnny Gemen motorcycle, Yeah, Ithink I think Triple H likes Motorcycle Undertaker
more than Dead Man Undertaker. Yes, I think. I mean that one's

(48:31):
such a it's been so amazing forthem. But yeah, I know what
you're saying. I think you'd bemore likely if the character were to come
around today. I mean, Idon't know that it would get the opportunity
as great as it was and allthe money gets made. I don't know
the Lavac would ever come up withsomething like you're going to be the Undertaker
and where're gonna have any powerful urnand all this different stuff? Two six

(48:52):
two? Who is this? Whereare You're calling from? Marks the Wisconsin?
Hey? Mark, good to hearfrom you. What's up? I
almost said I was a Miliss ofBliss, so I think that's what he
called. I think it's a dJ. Colhert, right, I think
he was. Maybe he was tryingto say miss Bliss and Alexa at the
same time. It kind of mergedthe two. Oh okay, okay,

(49:15):
anyway, I know I was apretty good show. I'm gonna my first
question. I'm gonna ask somebody youprobably didn't expect to get, A question
about which is Grado like that theyset up, like like I saw a
clip like yesterday they set it upsome thing like a few weeks ago with
him and Jeff Jarrett, and like, I assume they didn't have a full

(49:37):
on match because Grado is basically justthe theme song. Like it would have
been like a really cool moment,Like I like, it would have been
incredible moment to like see tens ofthousands of people singing that singing like a
prayer. But you know, TonyKhan didn't want to pay it, which
note that his money, who canyou know, we don't know what it

(49:58):
costs, and you know, can'tcalifor how to spend his money, but
he did spend a lot of moneyon Soreya. Do you think he made
the like choice if that was ifit was a finary choice choosing to use
that song to to supplement her entranceinstead of using like a prayer for Grado.

(50:19):
I mean, my first reaction Johnnyis a Grado is not a regular
on AWTV, And I think itwould have been cool, but I don't
know what's who's charging what I mean, they used Metallica as well, which
was cool, you know, andTony may have a budget for this,
He may just say, hey,big stadium show. We were going to
spend extra on this stuff. It'sall good. I don't know, but
I mean Grado, Yeah, theydid a little bit of a radio thing

(50:43):
with him, and then I haven'teven seen the first hour of the pre
show. It was news to me. I found out there was a first
hour of the pre show, andI was started coverage of the second hour
of the pre show, Like, why would you do a bonus hour or
not tell people about it? Thatwas bizarre. So I know Grato was
part of that, but I don'tthink they had the song Johnny. Yeah,
if it's me and I'm gonna writethe check, I'm doing it for
the talent that I actually have ona regular basis, rather than a one

(51:07):
off. It would have been fun. I get what Mark's saying, but
that's just me, all right.I didn't see the first hour because I
wasn't aware of the of the firsthour either. The way to go guys,
So I definitely wouldn't spend money onsomething that most people didn't even know
about. We did talk about someonethat's preparing to do a podcast and someone

(51:30):
that covers professional wrestling for a living. Neither of us knew that there was
a bonus hour before not not goodwork. I'm not planning, Johnny,
because it beats the alternative of mehaving to cover a two hour pre show.
I wish if anytime there's a twohours show pre show, I hope
they don't tell me the first houris on. I'll be just fine with
that. Yeah, absolutely, I'mwith you. As far as the music

(51:53):
in Sunny paid from Tallica, hepaid for for everything then by Bush start
the actual pay per view, whichI had no idea when the actual pay
per view started because I felt likeit was all the same thing. That's
whatever. That's why I hate preShire matches, lest stop whatever it is

(52:15):
or it is. But when Ifirst heard We Will Rock You, I
was like, oh my god,I can't believe it. Uh Manny Fernandez,
the Raging Bowl and Rick uh swiftlysimply irresistible Rick Rude must be on
their way to the ring led byPaul Jones because that was their internet music.

(52:37):
And at the exact same time inWWF you had the dream Team Brutus,
Stevecake and Greg Valentine managed by LuscusJohnny Dalliant coming to the ring too.
We are the champion. I rememberRick Rude coming out to Smooth Operator.
That's if I and obviously the tea. Yeah, as a singles it

(53:00):
was Smooth Operator. As a tagteam with Manny Fernandez, they were tag
team champions, it was we willRock You gotcha? Okay? Yeah?
It was so Yeah, Mark,I mean without knowing the price and all
that, and like, if youwere going to pay that kind of money,
I think it would have to befor something was actually on the main
show. And I'm not gonna blameI get a kick out of Greato comedy,

(53:22):
but I'm not going to say theyshould have found room for Greato so
they could have had that theme, but and what else you have for us?
Yeah, I mean I think ifthey were going to use the theme,
they would have, like maybe youknow, put it on the Rain
Show. But like since they didn't, they just kind of did what they
did. He didn't kind get touchedon it a little bit, like what

(53:45):
really asking the caution about link? You know, I hope that this show
was like a paper, a realpay per view in the sense that it
I mean, it didn't close alot of chapters and stories, but like
it very much like the closed, like a particular chapter, and like now
we've kind of like they could havedone things that Chris Jericho in a way
where like, okay, it makessense that Chris jericha will go to something

(54:07):
immediately, or they could have donesomething with Adam Cold and m Jah,
which makes sense that they go tosomething immediately, Like they didn't really do
that, and so like they've gotI think I checked before I called,
they got five maxive amounts for allthe next weekend. Like might it simply
be that like instead of doing fifteenlike they did last year, we get

(54:28):
like an eight or nine batch calorfor Yeah, I mean, I'd love
to see it, but no,I think it'll be every AW pay per
view seems to do. And maybeit'll change if they start running more.
I mean they did announce there runningAW. What is it Wrestle Dream I

(54:49):
think on October first, So we'regetting more pay per views from AW,
which is to be expected. I'dlove to think that Tony's going to eventually
calmed down, ongoing match happy. The pre shows are typically lighter than they
used to be used to be cramfour matches in there on the pre show.
By and large, it's been twomatches lately, and I think that's

(55:13):
an upgrade. I just think it'stoo much for people. And I'm hoping
these Sunday night shows Labor Day weekend'sfun. But I know that the October
first show, I believe it isis a Sunday show. It's a late
night for people, you know, depending on where you live, and not
that I care. It's what Ido for work, so it has nothing
to do with me. I'm anight all anyway. But I just think

(55:34):
that leave people wanting more, andI'd love to see him from the number
back. But seeing is believing,Mark, what else you got? I
mean, I guess follows that islike, okay, you got by that.
It's like, how do you howdo you do a match with christ
Jericho that makes any subble with tosay, how do you do a match
with the Young Bucks to make anysublance? How do you do a mass

(55:55):
with Stology any subblance? Well, sto make a little more sense. They
could just say we watch competition andsomebody comes out and get same title match,
the blowout story, but it's justhim almost nothing that would like make
a lot of sense, like builtup for a match for sure. That's

(56:15):
one weeks away. Tell you howyou do it with the pick. Any
of those people will say FTR becausethey have tag titles. Wow, they
just went one on one of thebucks had that. You know, you
can play it up whoever you wantthat it was an amazing match. My
god, they have to be wearycoming out of that one. Are we
going to get the same FTR?You know you get that occasionally it happens.

(56:36):
He just happened more in Japan withNew Japan, where wrestlers coming out
of Wrestle Kingdom were set up tolose sometimes on the dash shows that because
the idea was that they were soweary from what they had done. And
you don't get that nearly enough inAmerican based wrestling, And so I think
they have an opportunity here to kindof present it that way that, you
know, don't don't rule out theunexpected, and just kind of lean into

(56:58):
it. Make it seem like thechallengers may have more a chance or you
to pick whoever you want from thisshow to do that with. But anything
else man, h Yeah. Thefinal fluestion was about somebody that you know,
possibly I tow you about Edge,so like he you know, he
responded to ways important didn't kind oflike pick his words, seemed to pick

(57:22):
his words very carefully. He didn'treally dispute any of like the specifics what
will play? And I think ifhe goes to a W, let's stipulate
that he eventually does that he ultimatelydoes. Is there is there a whole

(57:43):
lot there beyond you know, actuallygetting to do like a full fledged program
with Christian, Because like I wastalking to a friend and he looked it
up, like they've done one realprogram together that wasn't two thousand and one
when they were still storyline brothers, and so like I should imagine the two
of them would really really want todo a full sledge program together. Beyond

(58:06):
that, is there much there todo with him? Johnny, what do
you think? Are there plenty ofthanks for Edge to do it if you
were to go to a W.Yeah, I don't want a Christian program.
I think Christian's fine where he isdoing great. I think going to
Collision, I think he would likethe slower pacing and boom. How about

(58:28):
Edge versus Malachi Malaki Block, Edgeand CM punk. I know people have
seen it before. We did comeup with the list. I think on
Dot and Weekly, I'm a handfulof people that we'd like to see Edge
work with, and we just kindof stopped there. It wasn't like we
ran out. There are plenty ofpeople. No. I think really Edge
is done everything there is to doin WWE, and I think he would

(58:50):
feel fresher in AW. As faras him responding to Wade's report, he
had, remember, Edge is thesame guy when it came out. I
think Mike Johnson reported that Edge was. I don't know if he reported he
was on his way back for therumble or that he was going through the
testing and Ed denied it all.And of course he was. And so
the key to me is that ifEdge wanted to, he could have said,

(59:14):
Hey, no matter what I do, if I do return, I'm
going to w W. That's whereI'm at. I mean, you could
say what he's taken away leverage, but he could have shot down all the
speculation right there if he wanted tothe fact that he kind of went to
the Edge playbook and came back anddisputed reporting without saying the reporter's name.
In this case, it's you knowagain, it's it's what we've seen Edge

(59:36):
do I'm not even I don't likewhen you if you start calling out a
reporter and saying they're liars when youknow you're lying about that, I'm not
a fan of. But he didn'tdo that in this case with Wade.
He's just kind of putting his spinon things or maybe telling the truth.
We don't know. But when thehistory kind of says he's not afraid to

(59:58):
tell you one thing to p techto surprise, then you kind of lean
in that direction. Jericho's down ata million times over the years. I
don't blame those guys for doing that, as long as they don't try to
paint somebody out to be a liarwho's just doing their job and telling it
and doing a factual story. JohnAnny thoughts on that one. No,
I mean I think he said funnyand what he I think he chose his

(01:00:22):
words very careful. Yeah, yeah, I think so too. So anything
else from me, Mark, Yeah, I mean, yeah, just to
echo. Guess he didn't refute anyof like he refuted and the air quotes,
but like he didn't hear any ofthe actual specifics of anything we said.
But yeah, and that was kindeof a tell to me that there

(01:00:43):
is a lot of smoke to thatfire. Yeah. I guess last thing,
you know, DJ was very criticallywith the division, and I kind
of I think there's a I thinkthere's a little bit of a reason for
optimism. I saw. I thinkit was the pretty show. I felt
a brick baker like. She seemedto have a little more pep and her

(01:01:04):
step. And I've seen in youknow, months and obviously you know,
we can I agree with you thatthe way they showed Mercedes lidding not optimal,
but you know, she's a megastar, wanted to be coming in and
I think Soya's got you know,a short term opponent in Chetah for next

(01:01:24):
week that makes a lot of sense. She beat her for the title,
but didn't actually pin her a mediumterm the Tory storm, and you know,
a long term opponent for Mercedes andDay. I think there's a I've
beat a little glas top well, but I think this reason to be optimistic
about the AWM division right now.Okay, this is the same women's division

(01:01:45):
that last week, just randomly onthe go home week, gave us a
sky Blue and Ruby Soo home matchbecause without saying so, we're contractually obligated
to have a women's match on everyshow. That's what it felt like,
So I want to see some consistency. So Raya has struggled in the ring
since she returned. Hopefully it's justknocking the rust off and she's going to
be fine and they don't have tomake it a long title ring. I

(01:02:07):
don't expect it will be. Ithink there have been there's good there's good
wrestlers in the division. I thinkit's time to kind of figure out who
your draws are and build around them. There's no reason in my mind that
Athena should being wasted on and behindthe paywall and Ring of Honor. She
has done great work for those whohave seen it, and that's not many,

(01:02:28):
unfortunately, so she could be partof this. But it's time to
figure out who your players are andgo with them and really give them good
quality storylines. Johnny Notch just, well, we got to have a women's
match. It has nothing to dowith the pay per view, but let's
just throw it out there. That'swhat that felt like last week. So
I can't say it feels like goodthings are happening in the women's division because
it doesn't. Yeah, I agreeMark anything you want to push back on

(01:02:57):
and do you mean to just crapall over your suggestion there? But yeah,
I'm just not into it. Yeah, I mean mine was more just
a projection. Like what you said, absolutely accurate. Mine was just more
like they seemed to ask the piecesin place. And you know, I
forgot to mention this, but whatis her name? Uh? Why am

(01:03:19):
I playing out her name that wasout there a year the champion? What
is cool? The former TNT champion, the one Jade Cargo No one is
brit lost the time? Why amI blanking out her name? Namie Hayter,
Jamie Hayter, Christian Uh, JadeCargan, Nyla Rose, the one

(01:03:46):
who who they had the bloody matchwith with brit Yeah, she has to
get healthy version, Yeah yeah,I mean yeah, she hopefully coming back
relatively too. Jamie had will beback probably early next year. Like well,
I gu said Speagans believing definitely,But I think they've got and yeah,

(01:04:11):
what they're doing with the theater fromthem, But yeah, like I'm
excusing to be optimistic. Will myoptimism be you know, do you fulfill?
Probably not? But you know,I think there's more reasons to be
optimistic than you know in previous time. But you know, all right,
man, Well, thank you somuch for calling. I definitely appreciate it,
and we will get to another callerand we do have a bunch of

(01:04:35):
email questions you get to as well. So but as always, callers take
it optimism, do you what. But I appreciate his optimism. I appreciate
his optimism. I do not shareit, but I appreciate it. Yeah,
I'd love to have him call mein a couple of months from now
and be able to say, see, I told you so. But I

(01:04:56):
mean, they've had good pieces inthat division and they just don't really do
anything. It doesn't seem to beTony Conn's strength as a as a booker,
is doing anything with that women's divisionthat you know just has good logical
storylines all the time. Seven eightfive? Who is this? Where are
you calling from? Say, Jason, this is Briar Star from Birdick,
Kansas. How are you today?I'm doing well, Brier from Burdick,

(01:05:19):
Kansas, my favorite towne in Kansas. What's going on today? Man?
So, I had a couple ofquestions regarding the show. I thought it
was a great show overall. Butyou know, one of the questions I
had, you know, what's awhaving back to back shows in one week,
especially now that this is going tohappen next year and then of course

(01:05:41):
the new paper for you in Octoberalong with Collision on Saturday night? Do
you think that there could be Iwas kind of thinking about this stage.
Do you think there could be potentialfor burnout like among those AW fans or
wrestling fans in general, or isthat maybe not going to occur. It's
burned me out, But I alsohave to cover all these other companies too,

(01:06:01):
Johnny, I mean, talk aboutthat, is it? I mean
it was. It started as Dynamitetwo hours a week and quarterly pay per
views, and then they added Rampageand they added the Forbidden Door. Next
thing you know, they're adding thisshow. They've added Collision. They did
get rid of the YouTube shows, but it's a lot. Oh by the
way, the Ring of Honor isthere, and they have pay per views

(01:06:24):
too, and now we're going tohave more pay per views, and you
know, unless something changes with thestreaming deal, these are still traditional pay
per views. So talk about thefatigue as well as maybe the financial burden
that this could be, this couldbecome for some fans, I'm on the
defensive. I'm watching all out Wow, there you go. There, there's

(01:06:45):
my fatigue? Is it? Andfor you it's just you're you're kind of
over it. Why do I needto watch a pay per view from the
same company two weeks in a row? It is mud is a bit much?
Yeah? No please? Yeah. And it's not like they you know

(01:07:09):
they hit that ww sweet spot oftwo hours and forty five minutes. These
a holes are like, hey,can we have eight hours of your life?
Like tho, you can't. Whatdid yesterday go with? If you
just watch the one hour pre show, not the surprise mystery or hour pre
show, it was like five hoursI think from start to finish. Does
that sound right? Yeah? That'sI fell asleep during the sting match because

(01:07:32):
I had to fall asleep during thesting match because that was too tired from
watching wrestling too much. So ifit's one off, you know, once
a year stadium show, I canlive with one hour pre show and the
four hour main card, but notwhen you're turning around and doing another paper
view the next week that'll probably havethe same structure. I mean, it's
just maybe it doesn't have the surprise. We're on it early for the pre

(01:07:55):
show, but there's going to bea one hour pre show, and I'll
be shocked if the pay per viewitself doesn't go four hours. It is
more than I like Brier. Ithink there are some fans who obviously you
can't get enough, and we'll watcheverything they put out there. But I
think Tony thinks there's too many ofthose fans out there. I really do.
I think he was that style offan who couldn't get enough. I
remember one of my first red flagsabout listening to Tony Khan was him saying,

(01:08:19):
wrestling fans don't need holiday breaks andall this. They want wrestling.
I'm like, who the hell?I No, it's okay to have a
Christmas without wrestling. I mean, just because they did it for years doesn't
mean it needs to come back.Just some of the things that he says,
I mean, it's clear he wasone of those fans wrestling, wrestling

(01:08:39):
and more wrestling, can't get enoughof it. And I think that he
thinks there's more of those fans outthere than there are. I think that
there there definitely is an audience likethat, But I think it's a small
audience, and I think Tony Kahnin a lot of areas Brier. If
he played to the masses rather thanthe super fans, he'd be in a
better position. Yeah, I totallyagree, because yesterday last night, I

(01:09:01):
went and solid like the show waslike four hours, and I was just
like, I don't know if Iwant to spend the rest of my Sunday
night watching four hours of wrestling show. So I just pretty much skipped to
the main event and watched that sincethat was the main story. So I
could definitely agree with you on that. What else do you have? Force
Man? And then I had anotherquestion? Yeah, so I had another

(01:09:24):
question to you. So I kindof really liked the match between Jericho and
Osprey for sure, but what doyou think is next for Jericho? I
know they kind of did a littleangle between him and Gavara. Do you
think that's where they're going to gofrom? Maybe I don't know, the
next week show, like the pickview, or could that be something that
they save on Dynamite. I reallythought Johnny was going to be a Guvara

(01:09:46):
costing Jericho this match, right,I mean, Jericho is supposed to be
the baby face, I think, and he was willing to join Don Callis
because he's a low life like himuntil he found out Callis didn't want him.
And then he's been blown off byeverybody else in that faction except for
or in his own faction, exceptfor Sammy Gavara, who's there to be

(01:10:08):
the nice guy, and Jericho blewhim off after the match, and Jericho
went in supposedly as a baby faceto work with Will Osprey in London.
This is the weirdest baby face runningChris Jericho's career. Granted it's not it
hasn't been long yet, but I'mconfused by it and too when it comes
to Briar's question, Johnny, maybeyou'll feel differently, I don't care.

(01:10:31):
I'm just not into what they're doingwith Jericho. It's tone delf booking.
I mean, It's like I hungout with Sammy Gavarro at a at a
children's charity event in December, andI'm like, this guy is a heel
up one side and down the otherat a charity event. Wow. I

(01:10:54):
mean, if Sammy's very nice buthe's not a baby face, well,
Johnny, if I mean we're toturn on him now, I mean,
can you blame him? Jericho hasbeen a dickt to him? Why wouldn't
he turn out? Yeah, heshould turn So that's like none of this
makes sense, none of it,not one step in this in this it's

(01:11:16):
horrible. It's like, so Idon't I don't know. I don't get
it, and I'm with you atthis point. I don't want to know.
I mean, it's been like baddecision, bad decision, bad decision,
bad decision, and here's the outcome. It's just like great, like
wow, how and I don't Idon't and I don't want the explanation.
All right, Briar, there heheard it. Sorry, we didn't have
a better answer for you. Whathelps you got? I know? That's

(01:11:40):
all I have. I greatly appreciateyou taking my time, and of course
all the work that you do throughoutthe week. I really enjoy all the
audio shows and everything like that,so definitely appreciate all the works that you
do as well. Awesome, Thankyou so much, my friend, Johnny.
I was just going to give youan opportunity to tell people what it
is. What the hell do youdo when you're not on this show and
uh, yeah, we don't needBrett bedroom details or anything like that.

(01:12:02):
But professionally, well maybe I don'tknow you a Jacola. What are you
doing in the podcast world? Allright, so podcasts and dowing party the
world. I have a podcast atReality Aftershow dot com. If if you're
on YouTube, go to YouTube dotcom Slash Aftershow to watch my podcast.

if you go on Spotify, youcan become a patron through there. How
cool is that? So so onSpotify search Reality Aftershow with Johnny Fairplay and

h and Johnny j O n ny FAI r p lay dot com.
Awesome. All right, we're gonnahit some email questions. Here me make
sure there's not an alf one morecaller. Nope, we're good Big Brother
things. Yeah, so the BigBrother Just real quick, I am covering

(01:14:41):
Big Brother on the Reality After Showpodcast Network, and so we're covering right
now. We're currently covering Big Brotherand UH Challenge USA two, enjoying both
UH. A lot of complaints fromthe Big Brother UH fandom. They don't
like that Surria is there from SirVibor and she's playing with her son.

(01:15:01):
The only reason I'm watching this seasonis because three is there, And a
lot of people are only watching thisseason because three is there. And if
your newbies are so good and thereshould just should just be newbies and not
bringing someone from other shows, thenyou should be good enough to get rid
of those people. And if youdon't, that means your newbies ain't that

(01:15:21):
good. Because I'm watching the showwhat they show on TV, and I'm
watching live feed and she is literallyowning every single person that has an alliance
with every single person in that house, because y'all are all dumb dumbs.
So yeah, three is great. Her son is playing the flat Vias game
ever, and uh oh, he'swiping down beds after he leaves every time.

(01:15:42):
This guy is having having fun,but he ain't playing a winning game.
All right, So we're gonna hitsome email question We're gonna go a
little more rapid fire with thieves sowe can try to at least get everybody
who sent questions in. Dot netmemberNan says he has. He's only sent
in questions once and he he's madeit up for it. He says,
sorry for going over the fourth questionlimit. Yeah, I really don't have

(01:16:04):
one for the live show, butjust to know that if there's a week
where we don't have a lot ofcallers, we might get to all your
questions. If there's a week likethis, we might get to one.
We'll do our best in someone Ithink we've covered during the course of the
show. But Tony, did younotice if Chris Jericho's entrance team was shorter
than usual at playing it live?I guess I didn't, but that was

(01:16:26):
one of his questions. No,I mean, I mean didn't he start
on the roof and then worked hisway down? So I mean that takes
time, and it's not like youknow, if Jericho is the Cardio Champering
gotten godless. I thought Chris Jerichohad an amazing match, exceeded my expectations

(01:16:46):
with will Ospray, So kudos toyou, Chris Jericho. But yeah,
no, it seemed like the normallinks to me. Here's another one we're
gonna get. I don't know theworst of the song, I guess yeah.
I feel like I'm the only person, the only wrestling fan on the
planet that had no idea, asingle word that thought. I can tell
you words. Have I memorized him? God? No, No, I
just haven't. But a lot ofpeople have one other question. Sorry,

(01:17:11):
Dan, please keep sending him inand hopefully it'll be better next time.
We'll be able to get to moreof him. But he says, see
him punk had a very mixed reaction, not sure how it sounded on TV.
Sounded like more booze than cheers inthe stadium, and he wants to
know should they have turned him heelrather than trying to turn everyone else.
Johnny, that's a fair question. There's been a lot of that, Ricky

(01:17:31):
Starks. They're turning people to goagainst Punk, and he's the one who
seemed to be getting as many boozeas anybody else. Well, it appears
as though the Punk is reactionary wheneverhe does get booze from the crowd and
does work as a heel. Imean, you saw him, dude,
the John Cena, the John Cenastaying followed by the Hulk Hogan, ear

(01:17:53):
Cup, leg drop. I thinkhe did wrestle as a heel. I
think in more play because then not, I believe he's going to get a
baby face reaction. I don't thinkthat everyone uh, you know, reading
the sheets NonStop, you know, not everyone's a patron. I feel that
little stuff comes out here and there, you know, like you know,

(01:18:15):
some people do catch that on likea you know, a Facebook video or
whatever, or you know, afriend tells a friend. So by and
large, I think a lot ofpeople just watch the show and then uh,
and you know, I think aremesmerized when they do here that there's
a podcast and stuff like that todiscuss this wrestling more thoroughly. But I
mean, there's so many people thatare that are even patrons of yours and

(01:18:38):
uh and they get worked by awork on a regular basis. So I
think as long as he's portrayed agood guy nine places out of ten,
he's going to be the good guy. Cherry from Illinois asked why is it
so hard to punish people for theiractions? In AW, no one has
learned anything because they suspended all parties, they brought them back, even gave

(01:19:00):
the Bucks EVP status again and PunkCreative status, So if nothing else,
they got rewarded for their bad behavior. Johnny, would you agree with that?
I think it's I think they're reviewingall the information. Yes, yes,
there's an investigation underway. What happenedto the damn boss Johnny, there
was an investigation about the bots andthere we've never found out about the bots.

(01:19:20):
I want to know about the bots, Tony. Oh yeah, yeah,
that's that's probably what's flowing down everythingelse. Jerry also asked why they
didn't show Mercedes Monator and or whythey showed her during the trio's match.
Wouldn't that have been better during thefour win women's match? Yes, yes,

(01:19:41):
it would have. And then Healso wants to know, do you
think do you think next week's AllOut does a much lower number than All
In? He says, my thinkingis yes, I don't have a hundred
bucks to spend on wrestling pay perviews one week. A Party says,
yeah, how much of a Imean this was the big stadium show.
They didn't. We'll find out whatthe lineup for this is by and large
this week. I guess I'll besurprised if it doesn't. I mean,

(01:20:01):
there's a loyal audience. It willfork over pretty much anything this man puts
out there, but this one Ithink is going to be testing some of
them. I think it'll definitely belower. And then and by the way,
just it's not like the perfect barometer, but our poll numbers were way
up for this show, so Ithink there were a lot of people that

(01:20:24):
definitely checked out yesterday's and we'll seeif it has an effect on the poll
numbers this Sunday, coming out ofAll Out and then Germaine from Chicago,
he asks, So he says,I want to ask fair Play. Does
he think the way w w Eis presenting Grayson Waller is good? The
man is perfect in matches like Owensix on TV. He is doing great

(01:20:46):
with the talking, but why doyou have to beat him in every match
like that? So get there.Yeah, you're not bothered by anything.
I'm not worried about Grace the Waller. Yeah, I mean we'll get we'll
get his heat when he I mean, uh, where were they when John
Cena showed up for Grayson Waller?I mean, you know John John Cena

(01:21:10):
didn't show up for well, hereally didn't show up for Baron Corbyn.
Are off the theory? I thoughtyou got an engaged John seen up for
Grayson Waller. Uh No, he'llit's fine. It's not like I think
La Knight's gonna work out just fine. I think Grayson Wallas gonna work out
just fine. Rabbit. He thinksit's a Q and a week. Unfortunately,

(01:21:32):
so he included some non wrestling questionswe've covered because he's asking about what
happened backstage with Jungle Boy and Punk. We've kind of talked about that and
the basics are out there. What'sthe latest about Gray White? Unfortunately,
I mean the news is out asfar as how everything what transpired. It
was apparently he had a heart issueand ended up getting COVID that made the

(01:21:59):
heart issue work and they thought hewas on the road to recovery and unfortunately
suffered a heart attack and passed away. So that's the gist of that one.
Then he also said that Sarriah xWWE now aw wasn't a mistake not
to let her wrestle. I don'tknow, rabbit, she did just wrestle

(01:22:19):
yesterday, wasn't Maybe is if heasking, isn't a mistake by w W
E too have not let her wrestle. Look, I think that's I think
that's the question. So for me, I don't know about you, Johnny.
For me, if I have adoctor telling me she shouldn't wrestle,
I'm deferring to the doctor. I'mnot going to doctors shop until I find
the answer I'm looking for. Yeah, I think I think made the right

(01:22:43):
call. So and I'm very happyfor Sariah. She seems like a very
very friendly girl, well the leader. But yeah, I don't know.
I think WV made the right call. I'm sure let's go back to share
if the he's gotten more, andthen we'll go to Dan if we can
close this out. Why did Ohno, I already touched on this one.

(01:23:06):
Oh, actually we covered all ofcherries. Look at that. How
about you, Jerry. We justtake care of you like it's nothing.
We'll go back to Dan, whois there in the building for all in.
He asked if I said the women'smatch was a bit random. We've
seen all the signs about booking thedivision better, but putting the belt on
Seria seemed like a knee jerk reactionin her home country. No story at

(01:23:29):
all, question Mark, Yeah,we kind of covered that one. Sorry,
but agree with you, And hesays the stadium Stampede, its supposed
to be a massive thing, butin the stadium it was an afterthought that
I barely remember after the event finished. Should AW do better booking in their
key stipulations? Yeah, I meanwe haven't even really talked about too much

(01:23:49):
about stadium Stampede. It's just youknow, over the top violence, and
there's obviously people in that company thatreally think that sells. But I'll tell
you this much. We also haven'tspent any time talking about the I mean
just a little bit about to finishthe Elite to Golden Elite six man tag
match. So I think there weretoo many matches like that on this show,

(01:24:11):
and it would have been a betterevent had there been more single show
down matches. Johnny, I don'tknow about you a thousand percent. Well,
Johnny, any other thoughts about allin that we didn't get to.
I think there's some other email question, but I think we got from one
from everybody, and we I thinkwe've covered a lot of it during the
course of the show. I reallyliked the the FTR Young Bucks match.

(01:24:32):
I thought that was that was afun match. The right team go over,
even with everything going on with Cash. Yeah, absolutely, and especially
in lieu of everything going on withCash Wheeler. Yeah, because I don't

(01:24:53):
know what the betting lines were, but I'm guessing it was Fox were favored.
Well, Johnny, are you goingto be able to join us next
Tuesday? You got plans? Iknow you said you might not watch one
of the paper you're gonna catch anyof them? How many pay per views
are there next week? Oh,there's payback on a Saturday, all out

(01:25:15):
on Sunday. And yeah, mylabor Day weekend used to be the you
know, I'm like normal people,a three day weekend, and now it's
work Friday night, work, Saturdaynight, work Sunday night, work Monday
night, Poor poor me. Iwill definitely be watched. I will definitely
be watching Payback. I don't knowwhen I'm why. I like worst case
scenario. I'll be watching Payback likeMonday morning, sometime before two pms.

(01:25:43):
I may. I gotta talk tothe boys. I mean, remember it's
a Tuesday show. We're doing Tuesday, no Labor Day show. I know,
okay, so okay, okay,I'll probably be watching Tuesday morning Payback.
So I had about eight people overy'all sday for all in. They
were excited, you know, tosee it. You know, the eighty
thousand people and all that. Mostpeople left either right before or right after

(01:26:06):
the Jaercome match. Wow. Wejust say they got their fill of wrestling.
Everyone but one person laft before orafter the Jaerco match. O.
That's that's not good. Well,I will talk to you this week about
we'll figure things out and yeah, but thank you as always up. I
just cut off Johnny fair Player.God, I've been wanting to do that

(01:26:29):

him back on. We're gonna leavehim there because I want to wrap up
the show by first saying thanks toJohnny of course for being my co host
