Speaker 1 (00:12):
Hello, and welcome to the Pro Wrestling Wire Interview. I
am your host, Lewis Carlin. The professional wrestling referee is
an integral part of any professional wrestling match. Joining me
today is one of the best on the indie scene.
Some of the promotions she has worked for, and it's
gonna take a few minutes to read them all Noble
Champions Group, NCG Wrestling, Divine Women's Pro Wrestling, All Class

(00:37):
Independent Wrestling, Ohio Valley Wrestling, Lucha Libre and Laughs, Pro
Wrestling King, Rocky Mountain, Pro Wrestling, Revolver, Insane Wrestling, Revolution,
and of course, last, but definitely not the least, t
NA Wrestling. Very happy to welcome Alice Lane. Alice, welcome

(00:59):
to the show.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Thank you so excited to be here. Wow, uh, I
am excited about that list.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
That is, I've said it in my head, but I've
never said it out loud, and I'm like, wow.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Yeah, I mean, I'm like, I'm out of breath just
reading it. We're gonna have to take a few minutes
to and if I missed anything, I apologize. I'm sure
there are there are there are a few more that
that I missed, but that's that's quite a list. That's
quite a resume of of promotions that you work for.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Yes, they are all amazing locker rooms to be a
part of as well.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
All right, So before we start talking about being a
referee and how that all got started, I got to
bring this up. You're posted a karaoke video you and
Daniel Spencer seeing Summer Nights, and my goodness, you just
went for it. You like were channeling your inner Olivia Newton.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
John.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
If there's a Grease audition coming, I think you should
audition for Sandy one hundred percent. But were you a
little you? Were you sober? You looked a little uh
that you had a few in you.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
When I got there, they had a little drink that
somebody didn't order. It was just there. So I have
one of those. But love Shock is actually my favorite song.
So we did that one in the night okay, And
then I was like, hey, you have to do one
with me and he was like, what about Summer eleven?
And I was like, see what I can do? So

(02:23):
we had a blast. Greece was one of my favorite
movies like growing up. Daniel loves it.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
So yeah, I absolutely love I was I was a
kid who my parents took me to. It was a great,
great film. And you know you said Summer eleven. I'm
a big Rees fan. It's summer nights, not summer eleven.
Summer nights. Summer nights. Uh. Remember when you go to
the audition, it's it's summer nights. Okay, because you're you're
gonna be sandy. But anyway, let's let's last night you

(02:49):
worked Insane Wrestling Revolution. Tell me about the experience. How
did that go?

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Well? Last night was all class independent wrestling.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I apologize.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Okay, No, you're fine.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Thursday night we had in Wrestling Revolution and say Wrestling Revolution,
and that was my first night there.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
It was, Oh my goodness. The crowd was crazy.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
As soon as I got there, I got the rundown
of everything, shook hands, got to the back, got my
stuff on, and they were like, hey, you're actually the
first girl that we've had that we know of for
a referee, and I was like what, I'm so excited.
So I got that moment to be like, wow, they've

(03:32):
never had a female referee. And sometimes people are just
like eh, and sometimes I mean I had some people
on the way out that were like, it's so good
to see a female in there taking charge, and some
people it's like really cool. So I was excited to
be able to give them that and to have that
moment right now was very welcoming. Everybody was welcoming. But yeah,

(03:54):
that crowd was and that show was so good. It
was so much fun.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
But yeah, last night I had All Class in wrestling,
another great show. We had quite a few matches.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
We had eight matches, and our main event was just
you should go watch it.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
We'll just put it out, Okay, Okay, I will, I will.
Where can where can people? If people want to watch it?
Is it on iw TV? Where can they? Where can
they watch it?

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Most everything that I'm on is on Triller. Everybody going
on trailer right now. It's very easy to access and
a lot of people have it, so yeah, pretty much.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Well in Facebook, a lot of.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Us has been going live on Facebook too, so if
you can go back and find those, that's another way.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
We're trying to show it as many places as possible.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
All right, didn't you work with Tommy Giber also recently?

Speaker 2 (04:46):
I did. I did down the Wrestling Revolver. That was
that was awesome.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
He was just supposed to kind of be there for
the night, but Jake something got hurt. So Sammy Callahan
had a night a little surprised for everybody, and I
got to do the hardcore match and it was, oh
my goodness, so cool. What an experience, and to be
in the ring with Tommy Dreamer. Damien Chambers was in
there as well. Love Damien, but of course you can't

(05:14):
play by the rules, but it's fine.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Yeah, big fan of Damien Chambers as well. But also
I'm a little older than you. I used to go
to the original ECW shows in Queens, New York with
Tommy Dreamer when he was first starting out, So I've
been a Dreamer fan for quite some time. But we're
not here to talk about Tommy Dreamer. Here talk about
Alice Lane. So let's go back to the beginning. What

(05:38):
made you interested in becoming a pro wrestling referee.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Well, I actually got into wrestling later in life, and
so when I got into it, I was like, you know,
these wrestlers are awesome, but they put their bodies and
their lives in other people's hands.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
I am not great at that.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
But what I can hand do is be the first
person to be there if something were to happen and
be part of the action still and like help tell
these stories.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
So I was like, ah, let's let's try be in
a referee.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
So I just I wanted to be in it without being.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
The main part of it. I just kind of want
to help elevate the matches.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
And so you didn't want to take any bumps. You
just want to.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Well I thought that, but maybe that's all the way.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
So but no, I'm a I like to elevate, I
like to help.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
I'm more of a supporting role. So the referee portion
was perfect.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
So how does how does one become a referee? You
have to go to a school? How did you?

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Like?

Speaker 1 (06:45):
How did you What did you have to do to
become a referee?

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Yeah, it's quite a journey.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
So I found the school when I lived in Denver, Colorado,
Rocky Mountain Pro which is where I started.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
And I went in.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
And I I was like, hey, I have watched a
few of the shows. I came to the live like,
how do I become a referee for you guys?

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Like keep training me? How's this go? So I actually
learned how to bump.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
I learned I started training with the wrestlers, because it's very.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Adamant that you know how to do these things safely
because we were off.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
So I learned with them and then they just started
putting me in like mock matches and they were like,
all right, just try not to be in our way,
and so I was like cool. And so the more
that they put me in situations and they let me
do more reps, the more I was getting it, like ah, okay,
and then you answered the cameras and I mean they

(07:42):
had everything there. So I was able to learn live and.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
By training as well. So I went to a wrestling school.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
Okay, So who is the most influential to your doing
your referee journey?

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Ooh.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
I was like, right, I think I know the answer,
but I'll let you. I'll let you answer.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Well, I mean it's been two years, so it's been
long and quick at the same time.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
But over those two years, I mean, Daniel Spencer's definitely
he listened to me.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
He listened to what I wanted where I was trying
to do do.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
We kind of put me in touch with him and
I was like, hey, listen.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
I have an idea what you're wanting, but I think
this is the guy you need to talk to. And
as soon as we started talking about it, he was like, well,
let's go. And he's just been like that ever since.
So if there's something before or after a match, and
especially if he's there, I can just go right up
to him.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
I'm like what about this? Or hey, I'm not sure
I think this. I think this, He's like.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Go talk to him, we'll figure it out. So, I mean, overall,
he's definitely helped me be able to step back and
see either where I'm at or where I need to
be in that those cases, and he gets me really
good booking.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
So it'll be like, hey, I'm vouching for you. Do
you want this?

Speaker 3 (09:07):
And I'm like yes, Oh my goodness, I've been great experiences.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
So yeah, he'd have to be number one.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Okay, so many people that have helped me, Like it's insane.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Yeah, I like, do you do you want? You want?
Do you want the you want the Do you want
to work for the promotion? Yes? Of course I do.
Of course I want't work. Absolutely. Uh do you remember
your first match and and how you were feeling before
and after?

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Absolutely? Okay, Oh yeah, just posted about this one.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
So we would go in Denver, there's a it's a
big wrestling community. And one of the places we went
was beer House Beer Sat It's like a Yager house
downtown and they would have wrestling there and people would
come and drink and watch wrestling.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
And have the time of their lives. So it was
I mean hundreds of people there. So we got out
there and it was Baalam Links and Aativa and.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
I was like, this is my first match, Please talk
to me, and they're like, it's fine, there's a lot
of people out there. We're going to be able to
it's going to be good. And we went out there.
I mean, as the referee, you're out there first. So
I'm standing out there with just the announcer and I'm.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Like, oh my goodness, I'm.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
About to do this, okay, And then they came out
and it was like the focus became them.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Which is what it was supposed to be.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
I went into the back and I just I just
helped make the match happen, and I.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Was like, oh, this is awesome.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
So there was definitely intimidation and nerves, but by the
end of it, I was I was like, Yeah, this
is awesome.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
I love this. Let's do it. Together.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
So you're like, this is what I want to do
for the rest of my life.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Then yeah, okay, so I just don't. But I was
of right now, I am loving the choices I made.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
All right, awesome, awesome. So how did the opportunity with
the t ANDA materialize?

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Well, actually, I'm still technically just kind of I come in.
I'm an extra. I helped build the set. That's kind
of how it started. They needed a little extra help
on one of the loops, and I helped set everything up,
the springs, the videos and the ramps, and there is

(11:28):
quite a few of us who did. And then I
just started going out because Dewey Larson is a big
part of TNA in the backgrounds and helps with the
ring and everything, and like I mentioned, he's the one
who introduced me to Daniel, and he was just like,
come on, that was an extra, Like you have to
show people that you want it, and to show people
you have to go.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
You have to show up.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
So then the first one I made a good impression,
He's like, just keep showing up, keep showing up. So
then I mean I just still help backstage and whenever
there's opportunities that arise, they see the hard work that
I put in, and they're just like, hey, would you
like to ref tonight?

Speaker 2 (12:04):
And yes, So it's just being there.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
Doing the work, and doing the work outside of being
there as well. They see that I'm not that I'm
always out doing stuff. I'm always trying to get better.
So I think an accumulation of those things have definitely
helped me, and I'm so grateful for it.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
So so so when they asked you to if you
want to ref, you weren't expecting that at all, right,
will you expect?

Speaker 3 (12:33):
No?

Speaker 1 (12:34):
That must have get like, how are you feeling? Like,
oh my god, I'm about to ref a T and
a match that must have been huge? Butterflies flat around
your stomach.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
They were, They were it wash Pasha Steels and Alley
Cash was actually an explosion match, okay, and oh yeah tonight,
like wee tonight And they're like, yeah, like we want
to give you that opportunity, because I mean, they go
places they give other red these opportunities.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
And I was there and they just were like, you
know what, let's give her an opportunity.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
And so I had that explosion match, and I've gotten
these opportunities every now and then along with these other
It's so cool being able to work with so many
other rests Like, it's not just like I said, I
get a lot of advice and stuff from Daniel, but
when you work with everybody, that's when you really learn
and grow because you have all these other people that

(13:28):
you're learning from and working with.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
So that's that's just been awesome.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Didn't you work at AMT and a Knockouts tag team
title match?

Speaker 2 (13:36):
I did.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
That must have been exciting. That must have been exciting.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
That was That was one of the one matches where
I just realized how.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Much hard work can really pay off.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
I just looked around and it was one of the
most grateful moments I've ever had. And then.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
There's a picture. There's a picture of you holding actually
about the titles. You look so proud. You look so proud.
You're standing in the ring holding those titles, and you
can see the proud look on your face.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Thank you. I oh my goodness, I was.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
And I had conversations with all the girls backstage when
I got done, I mean before and afterwards.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
What I was just like, thank you. This is just
I mean, everybody that was that was a moment. I mean,
just holding that. Yeah, it's hard to explain.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
But you know, no, yeah, no, I understand, I know.
Proud moment. So how long have you been working TNA matches?
A few months?

Speaker 3 (14:36):
Yes, I think back in except remember I had my
first actually TV match, but July July or August I
had an explosion match.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
So I've been yeah, three months now.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
So next question, has it been in any talk of
a possible contract to become an official referee of TNA
or is that something you can't just say us right now?
If you can, I.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Understand, I have. I don't know. I just keep coming
up and keep.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
Doing what I'm doing and hope that if it does,
I'm there to have that conversation again. That's one thing
that I've learned, like you just have to be there too,
So being across yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
I'll keep these cross too, man, haven't you howbout you
guys formed a faction? I think four of the TENA
referees form like a little faction. You have a T shirt.
I'm sorry the name escapes me, but uh, I remember
seeing the pictures.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
Yes, Daniel Spencer, he uh he got them for us
because he was just like I love the four of
us working together He's like, if I could put a
little dream team together, this is what it would be.
And then it just a few people really really liked it,
and so we decided to start selling in all the
proceeds go to the you are more.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Uh situation there, And I just think that he did
something where it meant something to him.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
But everybody saw it and they were like, oh, actually
that's kind of cool. He like that means something to him,
and so it wasn't just something that somebody behind the
scenes put together, like it was something that Daniel put together.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
And then people just really liked it.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
So it meant a lot to all four of us,
well the three of us when he presented it to us.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
So it was really cool.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
All Right, you said they're selling t shirts for charity,
Is that what you said?

Speaker 3 (16:34):
So on pro wrestling teas there's a couple of brothers
who come and they've got a foundation to hear more
and so we've got it on Daniel Spinser's actual.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
Like shop on the pro wrestling teas and so you
can heard it and actually do he's got one. I know,
we'll have one.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
But it was it was just something that was made
for friends that ended up being something everybody was like,
actually like that, so wrestling you can, you can do
all these cool things.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
It's just it's a fun time.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Is there any Alice Lane merchandise available yet? Or no, No,
that's coming. That's coming. That's coming, isn't it.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
So I'm like, I actually had a kid one time
bring a piece of paper, like an eight by ten
per now of one of my promo pics, and I
was like, you sign this.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Oh, I might need to start taking some. So it's
just as a referee, and I don't know, all.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Right, well, I think I think you should think about it.
I think you should think about it. I can see
people walking around with Alice Lane.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
T shirts, so, oh my goodness, that.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Would that blow your mind? If you see people walking
around with Alice Lane T shirts.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Yeah, I'm like, because then my referees aren't supposed to
be seen. So if I have people walk around with
my merchan I'm being seen like I'm not doing my chump.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Yoh okay, all right, So so no no merchandise, then
no merchandise, then we'll leave. It'll leave that all right. So,
so you were the referee when when Tesla Blanche returned
the Jordan Grace match, and she absolutely clabbored you with
a clothesline. Now I know Tesla Blanche is one of
the best in the world. I'm sure it looked great.

(18:20):
But did that hurt it all or no?

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Ah, it took a minute.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
The guys plose by and that there was a quick
little accent because she came in and met business.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
So I know, I'm sure it was nothing personal. I
just happened to be the ref in the ring. But
she made her statement, Okay.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
Was that something you had to train for beforehand to
take you or you when you were in wrestling school,
you you knew how to take the bump that.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
So that was one thing. I was like, Hey, I
know that refs aren't that's not part of what we do.
We don't bump all the time. But I know that
I'm going to be bumped, so I would like to
know these certain ways that I might get bumped, so
I have an idea of how I want to keep
myself safe during them.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
So they were like, you know, you might get clothes on,
you might get smashed in the corner, you might get
like a small little body slam or something like that.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
So I had ideas of how it could go down,
and I I just well, I saw it coming, and
I just I knew. I was like, oh uh, somebody's coming,
and I just went with it, because if you go
with it, I have found it hurts a lot less
than if you try to be like, nah, I'm gonna

(19:42):
take don't take it.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
So so you didn't know, you didn't know Tessa was coming?
Then oh okay, okay, So Tessa Blanchet Alice Lane know
what the qualification match? When does that happen? I'm kidding,
I'm kidding. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Could happen for NCG.
You're both around the same CA. February twenty second, NCG.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
But it's sure, that's crazy.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Yeah, that's gonna be That would be something. But I
think there'll be a no no offense. I think they'll
be a quick match to Alice. I think it'll be
over in a few sets. But but let's let's let's
move along. Here lo's my Oh, here we go. So
success can feel rather quickly. Some people might get cocky,
but I've met you at NCG Wrestling. You're humble, you're grateful.

(20:28):
You come across as grateful. Is that a fair assessment,
no cockiness, You're just grateful.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
I'm yeah, I'm just very grateful.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
It's a big business, and I think that's the number
one thing I learned.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
And that's kind of what has kept.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
Me humble about everything, because they're they're not one person
who can just be like, yeah, I'm the best in wrestling,
Like yeah, they can say that, but they don't mean that.
They know that it's an cumulative effort. So and people
are telling me that I've done great job, it's been
great to work with me, like telling me that all
these people who have helped me have been great to

(21:02):
work with, because I mean I came in not knowing.
I just had an idea of what I wanted, and
I just I asked a ton of questions.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
And I've asked a ton of people a ton of questions.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
So who they work with, it's just all those people,
like all their help put together.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
So yeah, it's it's something that keeps me humble because I.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
Wouldn't have gotten to where I am had I just
been like, yo, figure it out.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
Well, Well, I do want to say all the success
that you're achieving is well deserved. You're you're you're excellent
and people watching most of the people that know me
know that I work for NCG Wrestling. You do, and
a lot of people, most of the people on NCG
Wrestling agree that you're you're a fantastic referee. So I
just want to let you know that you're you do
a fantastic job. Speaking of MCG February twenty second. Actually,

(21:54):
let's go back to your first NCG Wrestling show. Was
that the first time you were in Canada? It was
that to work? How was that experience being in another
country to referee for NTG Wrestling.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
So that I had gone over with TNA, but just
to help with backstage production set up and stuff. But
I hadn't actually officiated in Canada. So that was my
first time actually getting to officiate. So going over that time,
I was like, Oh, I get to come back and
say that I finally referee in Canada.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
Canada.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
I got there and it was a great experience. Everybody
was so nice, everybody was so welcoming and this I
hope with this and it was awesome. It was a great,
great experience. And then they're like, after the show, do
you want to come back?

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Yes? I do. I would love to so I enjoyed it.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
All right, and you're back on February twenty seconds, so
we look forward to that. It's gonna be a great
show again. Tessa Blanche on the show. If you want to,
if you want to mix it up with Testa, I
have to get a little revenge. We could work something
out there, but you actually might be I don't want
to say, but there's a possibility that you're working her
match against Free the Slayer. But WWTNA, there's a WWD

(23:12):
WWTNA partnership. What are your thoughts in that partnership and
if they a TNA vers ww match that you would
love to see?

Speaker 2 (23:21):
I mean, none of us. I don't even know if
anybody whose side knows much about it.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
It's one of those things when things pop up, they're
just like, oh, that's cool. And so I'm even more
behind the scenes than that. So but it's been awesome
getting to see it like backstage and then when it
happens live, everybody has that same reaction that we did.
So that's been really neat. But oh, I'm trying to

(23:52):
think that's a good one. I think Lia Edward's versusl
Liv Morgan would be fun.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
That would be. That would be terrific. That would.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
That that one off the top of my head, that
would be fun. But yeah, they're told me things that
I think we're all just so excited to see if
it could happen.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
Did did you form any relationship with Jordan Grace before
she left and where you were upset that she left
or was there or.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
Not that.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
I mean, she was very one of the nicest people
in the locker room.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
So I had the opportunity to have a couple of
matches with her. She goped to her after the matches
think for the match, asked her if you think gave
me any time of the day that I like asked
her for. But I also, I'm I'm always working, so
for me, relationships is not something that I get that

(24:46):
much time to do. So I can tell that we
had a really good respect, which was amazing and all
that I personally needed.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
And it was.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
Awesome seeing how much everybody was just like we're gonna
miss her, and it's true.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
She was just she's amazing as a person.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
As a performer, she shows up and so that was
that was.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
One of those things where you're just like, good for her.
She deserves it.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
Yeah, she's gonna be a major star in the WW
that's I think that's one hundred percent guarantee. She's going
to be a major star. So who do you think
is the best referee of all time? Have you ever
thought about that? Hm?

Speaker 2 (25:34):
I mean, I'm a big Kyota fan.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
So, but that's one of those things where I like
to say that there's something the best of Like each
one of them has something that's the best, and those
are the things.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
That I try to pull from them. But Kyota is just.

Speaker 3 (25:51):
One of those referees who I watch, and there's hard
It's hard for me to pinpoint things that I'm like,
I don't know that I do that, I don't know
that I didn't like that, or I don't know that
that would work for me.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
I watched when I'm like, he's just so smooth.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
So but yeah, I I don't know. I think everybody
has something that I can personally take, and when the
refs have an authority about them, that's just one of
the things I know, as a female, I need to
keep I was a part of me, and so I
try to find other ways to show my authority because

(26:27):
I'm like, I know how I do. But sometimes you
gotta step it up a notch, like maybe the person
you're in the ring with is just a little bigger
than you're used to or something. And so maybe this
ref that i'd been watching did something where I was like,
you know what I got through to them?

Speaker 2 (26:43):
Let me let me try that.

Speaker 3 (26:46):
So I watched the refs no matter what I'm watching,
And it's hard not to just do that now and
actually watch a wrestling match and watch for the wrestling.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
Like you do.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
You have a watch of the refree and and point
out what they're doing wrong. I think you think you
just mentioned that you point out you watch when what
they're doing right, But do you have a watch what
they're doing wrong? And like what are they doing? Why
are they doing that? They shouldn't be doing that?

Speaker 3 (27:10):
Yeah, And sometimes I had to remind myself promoters want
different things, So if I go there, maybe what I
am thinking they shouldn't be doing is what the promoter
is wanting. So it's one of those things where I
take note of I wouldn't do it that way, but
maybe they're being asked to, or maybe the only person

(27:33):
they've ever trained with taught them that way kind of thing.
But I just recognize that visually that wouldn't make sense
for me to do, and so I just don't.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
Or if I'm like, hey, if I did it this way,
maybe work and so then I can try that.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
But I don't know.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
It's kind of it.

Speaker 3 (27:53):
There's very few things where I'm just like WHOA, that
was just flat out wrong.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
I try to have like an open mind about why
they did it.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
If somebody came up to you today and said, you know,
I want to be a professional wrestling referee, what would
your advice be to them?

Speaker 3 (28:11):
I would say, watch as many like physical fights as
you can watch that referee, watch those fights and have
an idea of that's what you're signing up to do.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
You're not coming in.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
To just do a play or just like show off anything.
You're there to watch two or three or four ten
people fight.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
That's that's what you're signing up to do. So if
you can do that, then you can work on everything else.

Speaker 3 (28:46):
But if you're just coming in just think that, like
I said, you're just adding a little pizzaz.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
No, that's not what we're here for.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
We're real for the real, the realest part of this match.
So if you want to be the referee. You have
to be ready to make every single match real because
they really get hurt. They really need to know certain times.
They really need to know these things. And if we're
just like, hey, oh they're gonna do this and they're
gonna you don't know what they're gonna do. You might

(29:15):
think you know, but in reality sometimes they don't even know.
So like we if you can be queued in and
you can keep it real, that would be my first
bit of advice.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
And then you can add on to that.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
All right, man, So we're uh, we're short on time,
So I get two more questions and we'll wrap it up. Cool. Uh, so,
what are your goals for twenty twenty five? What are
that We're one month in, a little over one month in.
What are your goals for twenty twenty five?

Speaker 2 (29:46):
So I would like to refer as many states as
I can.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Okay, I know a lot of people like to check
them all off. I I just think there's something in
each state that's a little different. And every time I
go somewhere, like the fans in each state are just different,
especially on like the NDIE levels. It's one thing when
you're in huge arenas and the fans are used to

(30:11):
seeing the same stuff or whatever the case may be.
They know the stories, but when you're in the small arenas,
those fans they're just they're different. And so I'd like
to experience fans in like every single state.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
That would definitely be one of my top holes.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
What about countries, But I know the countries. I know
you've been to Canada, But what about like Japan or England?

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Yes, England I've definitely thought about. I've had family that's
went over there, and so I think that I could
maybe get a hold of some people over there to
get me in.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
Okay, but yeah, countries is definitely on the list.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
All right, And last question, what is the dream referee job?
What is your dream where would you ultimately like to
end up? W W we all, Okay, there we go. Definitely,
I know that's the answer, but I had to answer
the question because some people might have said a E
W or TNA but WW okay, so w W.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
I am enjoying my time that I'm being able to
be at TNA and Okay, we eventually want to work
to make you know that stage and so it's it's
pretty cool that we all work together to help each other.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
That's so awesome.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
So so coming up in the future is going to
be the triple H pointing photo to Alice Lane.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
Right one day? Oh my god?

Speaker 1 (31:48):
So what what? What's we know? You have February twenty
second n CG Wrestling and I will see you there.
What other shows you have coming up? Anything else you
want to plug?

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Will actually be with TNA or in Orlando that week before?

Speaker 1 (32:01):
Okay that it would.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
Actually be alive. So that's gonna be awesome. And then
I'm at Bullpen next week. I'll make my debut over
there as I and Elie are gonna face off. I'm
pretty comfortabout that match, and one of my girls from
Colorado's coming out, so show me. So I'll kind of
be everywhere February.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
All right, how many promotions have you worked for? I know,
I know I ran a few often the but but
it seems like everybody wants Alice Lane to re free
this show. Oh well, and I want.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
To referee as many shows as possible. Every time I
get into the locker room, I mean, half the people
I see you before and then half the people I've
never seen, And I'm just like, let's keep growing. Let's
let's see how many people we can work with, because
I enjoy it a lot.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
All right, Okay, well, Alice has been absolute pleasure speaking
with you today. I wish you nothing but the best luck.
I hope you get that get a contract from TNA,
and and I hope well one day you'll and your
dream job at the WWE. And uh, we should do
this again the next couple of months. We should catch
up the podcast. You're always welcome and again wish you

(33:11):
nothing about the best of luck. You're you're a fantastic referee.
See you on Febu twenty second and enjoy the rest
of your day. Thank you so much, Hie, take care,
bye bye,
