Speaker 1 (00:12):
Hello and welcome to the Pro Wrestling Whire interview. Joining
me today is an Old Japan pro wrestling superstar. He
is a member of the Hokkuto Goo unit and he
will be participating in his third Champion Carnival twenty twenty five.
Very happy to welcome Cyrus. Cyrus, welcome to the show.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Man, Hey, thanks for having me, Lewis.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
My pleasure, My pleasure. So how you been and how
you doing? I know you've been back. You had a
long tour of in Old Japan Pro wrestling, but you're
back now. So have you been how he's spending your
time off from Old Japan?

Speaker 3 (00:44):
No, I'm just really just working out and relaxing at home,
getting caught up on some outstores that needed some attention,
you know, fixing the house up.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Okay, all right, there you go, man, So let's talk
about it. So you finally signed that contract, something that
you really wanted. I know we spoke before you've been
on the show. You wanted desperately to sign that contract
with All Japan par Wresting. You've signed it something you
wanted for wonder for a while. So it's got to
be a relief now that that you finally got that
out of the way, you could just concentrate on on

(01:15):
destroying everybody in Ortapan parresting.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Now Yeah, yeah, I think now it's been seeing that
I'm being taken serious and that they're going to use
me as a true competitor with all Japan Pro Wrestling. So,
I mean, they know what I bring to the table,
they know my power and my destruction. I've already earned
the nickname over there is uh strong Strow, this Guyjing

(01:38):
in Japan. Okay, so you know, and I'm okay with
that being the strongest foreigner.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Are you getting Are you getting comparisons to to Vader?
I know I've compared you to Vader, but do you
get comparisons when you're in Japan to Vader?

Speaker 3 (01:53):
You know that they've compared me to Vader and Bam
Bam big Low. And then also they they said my
craziness for remonds them of Abdullah the Butcher and Brody
of Brody.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
So yeah, because your teresces are a little wild, you
come out, you grab those steps, you run around the arena. Yeah, yeah,
you're you're placing fear at the fans. Uh, you must
be having a great time with that man.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Oh yeah, yeah, I absolutely love it. Like you know,
company gave me like free free reign on that wow.
And uh, you know the best thing is is they
were like, sorrs, we just need you to be crazy,
and I was like, sure, that's what you want.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Was, well, you're doing it, and you're doing it. Yeah
you got Yeah, you're striking fear into the fans. Yeah. Yeah,
they don't know if you're going to throw those steps.
But that's great stuff. You're doing a great job there.
So how long is it deal for? Is it that
you signed with the Worn Japan?

Speaker 3 (02:49):
So I do it on a yearly basis now, okay,
So it's a it's a year deal that we sign
it and I get my dates so I know when
i'll actually be home, when I have a break time
and then when I'm.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Told So the tour that I got coming up, it's
going to be five months, okay, at the end of March.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
So I'll be with him for five months and then
i'll get a I'll get a couple of months break
and then i'll go back.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
So so what do you headed back? You head it
back anytime soon?

Speaker 2 (03:17):
So I'm leaving. I fly out March twenty.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Six March twenty six. Okay, just in time for Champion Carnival.
So you said five months, Like I know, before you
were there for like a month, two months, but now
you're there for five months at a time. Question, do
you do you miss the family? Does the family come
out with you?

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yeah? Yeah, I think I think you missed your family,
like you know I do miss my family and stuff.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
So and you know, I tell people it's a it's a.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Surreal thing like when it comes, when it comes to it,
because you know, you to chase the dream, you gotta
you gotta sacrifice.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
And you know, this last tour was six months long.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
It was a little over six months actually, but uh,
but you know, it's that thing I don't ever want
to I don't ever want to look back in my
life and say what if or why not or why
didn't I do this? I want to look at it
like I gave everything. And you know, I have a
big goal. I want to be in history books with

(04:18):
all the greats of All Japan and all that.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
So okay, well, the hard work paid off, of the
dedication paidoff. You signed your contract finally with All Japan.
So we talked about Champion Carnival coming up that kicks
off April ninth. Is this the year this is going
to be a third Champion Carnival? If I'm not mistaken?
Is this the year Cyrus wins the Champion Carnival tournament?

Speaker 3 (04:41):
I'm taking So, I think with the work that I've
been putting in with the gym and and all that,
and you know, I went on a pretty hard dot
to lose a lot of weight. I'm you know, I
lost eighty pounds. Wow, but I'm still in I'm still
in the mid three hundreds. So but I feel great.

(05:01):
My legs, my body, everything feels great. It's not the
snore ever or not.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Well.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
I kind of I've kind of have that problem with
the snory. My wife lets me know, I sleep on
the couch.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
But you know, but eighty pounds. So had you do that?
How did you lose eighty pounds? Because I know you
look great. I know I mentioned you in the past,
But what did you do with it? How did you
how did you lose the weight?

Speaker 3 (05:26):
You know, I just stopped eating so many carbs. I
went mostly to a meat a meat dot, the carnivore
dot pretty much okay, And I mean just drinking water,
and you know, instead of drinking soda every single day
or anything like that, I've cut the soda down to
a treat, like maybe I'll drink soda once or twice

(05:46):
a week versus every single day. So just the small
things cutting out that made a world of difference.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
So I heard about the carnivore diets. You just eat meat,
so you eat something else?

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Yeah, basically just yeah, you're just a meat eater.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
So no vegetables at all.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Just just well no, Now now I am different with mine.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
I do eat my vegetables because I love greens and
I can't live without greens.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
I've got to have my lettuce and my spinach. Okay,
I have to have that. If I didn't have that,
I would I would be very angry.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Yeah no, I couldn't just see just you know, a
whole play the steak you three times a day, seven
days a week. But yeah, yeah, So back to the
Champion Chronival. You're on Block A. I'm just gonna read
some of the names off he Kento Miyahara. We have
history with June Saito, Hidekie Sazuki. I should say Triple
Crown Champions, shooing sayto Hidekie Suzuki, Sacha Shino, David boy

(06:45):
Smith a role in that block. What do you think
is going to be a toughest opponent for you to
get out of Block A?

Speaker 3 (06:52):
And I think I think they're all tough opponents, but
you know, the one, the one that knows me the
most well is probably Davy boy Smith, Like you know,
he's used to seeing my style. So but you know,
you've got a ton of fans too. They're looking forward
to that match. People want to see that match like

(07:12):
they want to see us. Because the last time he
and I were in the singles against each other, I
was injured. My left knee was injured on me, and
uh so we weren't able to I wasn't able to
give it one hundred percent. And plus you know, I was,
I was, I was.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
I felt bad on myself.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
I felt like I let down a lot of the
fans because I felt like I was more out of
shape than too and that I wasn't at that true
go mode potential that I should have been for that match.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
That was That was a Royal Road Tournament, correct that
you met him?

Speaker 2 (07:47):
No, it was, it was it was last year's Champion Carnival.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Champion can Okay, yeah, yeah, okay, yeah. I do remember
you meeting him. I do remember you going I'm sorry
you're going one on one with him, and you're just
saying that you were a little injured, but you're going
to be completely healthy this time. Yeah, and a lot
of big matchup for you in black A. I know
you have, like I said, history of Kento Miyahara. Now

(08:13):
you have a win at Royal Road against June Saito.
He's a triple Crown champion. Now do you think that
automatically makes you an opponent? It's a challenger, an automatic
challenge for him.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Because I think that in all the singles matches June
and I've ever had, I've never lost, I know, I know.
So I mean Triple Crown, Royal Road, all of it,
like only if his brother was in there to help
him out.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Because when I've been beat.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
So so you gotta go. You gotta go to the
higher ups at all Japan and say you deserve that
shot at Saito. You deserve the next year.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Yeah, yeah, which you know, I think it must show
out and if I can win that champion Carnival, I'll
get an automatic bid for it then and I can't
be denied a shot at the title.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
Yeah, yeah, man, So this is actually interesting. Black A
also has a fellow Houtu Guin faction member, Kumarashi. Your
feelings on that the two of you are going to meet,
I mean, are you're gonna just throw friendship out the
window and and try to win half? How are you
gonna How are you gonna handle that? Because I know
you guys were you held the triple on that triple crown,

(09:22):
the triple I'm sorry six man tag titles with more.
So how do you how do you feel about You're
gonna have to face him at least once? How do
you feel about that?

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Yeah? I think that's gonna be fun. Good man.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
We have a history alone, history before we were ever
even together as friends with the hook or I mean,
like when I first started killing in Japan with wrestling one,
he and I battled, and uh it, me and him
have many have had many singles.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Battles, and you know, it's always fun. So I mean,
at the end of the day, it's just business.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
I mean, I can lock out my friendship for thirty
minutes and we can go out there in battle, and
then we can be friends after.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Okay, as long as as long as you get the
victory though, right, that's it.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
That's it, as long as you.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Get the victory. This is also very this is I'm
sorry to me. I'm sorry you were saying something I
did me to cut you off.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
No, no, no, I was saying.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
This is also very interesting if you if you do
win Block A, there's a very good chance that Hakuto
a Maori is gonna win Block B. It can come
down to you when Hukutu a Mauri, he's the leader
of the Kutou faction faction, so is there going to
be would that create friction or is it the same
thing with Arashi?

Speaker 3 (10:39):
It's just I think it's I think it's the same
thing because you know, at the end of the day,
he's the leader.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
But I'm the muscle.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Okay, I'm the guy that gets called on when it
comes to to better get stuff done or strong arm
somebody and having march made or something like that. I
show up and say no, we're going to do it
or I'm gonna hurt.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
What wasn't there a video made that was on say
on social media?

Speaker 2 (11:06):
You yeah, yeah, we went to one of the march guys.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
We went to his place of business to have a
meeting with him to tell him that he was going
to make our march, and at first he was like,
I'll make this, and then we were like no, yeah,
you're gonna make all this, and then he agreed to it.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
You looked very very angry in that video from what
I remember, really pissed off.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Yeah, nobody's gonna want Nobody wants to mess with a.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Pissed off No, not at all.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
So if you so hopefully you win. I'm I'm pulling
for you to win Champion of Carnival. I think you
n s A too. Would be a terrific match for
the Triple Crown. And you deserve it anyway because you
hold the victory over him. And I know I mentioned
that before. So how is the relationship right now with Akutuomori?

Speaker 2 (11:52):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Is it still good? Or is it good?

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Yeah? Yeah, no, it's a it's a real good relationship.
You know.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
He was sad to hear that I was going home
on break, you know, And in one of the videos
he shot it, he was he was asking to him
and what are we going to do now? We need
Cyrus with us in the ring. With us because you know,
he gets things done.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Yeah, I mean it's a huge void that was left
when you left. But he left the WOD Japan to
go on a break. But it's so it was only
like a month or so, right and.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Yeah, yeah, so well you know I got I got
basically like a two and a half month to break,
which is not so so I enjoy that.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
It gives my time. It gives time for the body
to heal too, so and you know you need a
little R and R.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Yeah, of course, of course, of course. But yeah, but
you'll be back there before we know it. And with
that contract. I know, the last tour you wrestled for
the Big Japan Pro Wrestling I think promotions. Does your
contract allow you to still do that? Can you still
it does?

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (12:54):
Yeah, So so basically the way that works is anytime
the company wants to use me or anything, I make
them go straight through the office. So they go through
All Japan and then All Japan tells me yeah your nay.
So at the end of the day, you know, I
tell you everybody, it's no hard feelings, but you know,
when it comes to to business, they go through there.

(13:16):
Now when I'm home, though, like in the States and
I do independent shows. There are freelance shows. I get
choice of that. The only thing they asked me to
do is they say, please be smart, Cyrus, And I'm like,
you got it, buddy.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Be smart, remember be smart?

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (13:39):
So six man titles, I know you, I mentioned it before.
You are Rashi and Akuto lost it to Yomyagi from
Laura Abi and I can't remember the other the other. Yeah,
but do you want those titles back?

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Yeah, I mean I want every title of this.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
I wouldn't mind. I wouldn't mind holding the six man
and the tag and the Triple Crown Championship. Well I'm big, yeah,
Well I'm big enough to hold all the belts on
one arm.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
So you want to you want to beat Saito eas
the World Tag Team Champion and the Triple Grant. Yeah yeah,
so you might as well go up to the might
as well go after the Juniorhighway title as well.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Yeah yeah, I mean I might have to cut some
weight or get a scale down a lot.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
Yeah, you're losing weight down eighty.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Pounds, you might. Yeah, I'll get me a rig scale,
you know.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Yeah, just put one foot on the scale and then
back to the contract you said you with the wrestling
for other promotions. Is there a promotion that you hope
that you could know that you got pressing NOAHT. Hartley Jackson,
who's wrestling for Japan for Wrestling. He's your tag team
partner in the Tag League. Is there a promotion that

(14:54):
you're hoping reaches out that you can work for?

Speaker 3 (14:56):
You know, I'm really hoping for any of them, Like
I enjoy working for all the all the companies that
I've worked for over there.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
I enjoyed, uh going to Big Japan.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
I enjoyed Demo Star, you know, I enjoyed I think
it was called First String Soul, which is like a
really small independent.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
But you know, they asked for permission and the company.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
Asked me to They always get the always ask me
if I'm okay with it also, so you know, basically
all they asked is they say, is uh, you know,
protect our guys, Yeah, protect our investment.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
So I think they should be saying we need to
protect the opponent from Cyrus, not protect That's what they
should be saying.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
That's what Yeah. Yeah, you get a lot of people
look at you and they're like they're real quiet around you.
Because they don't they don't know what cyrus they're going
to get that day.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
And I'm like, well, you're going to get the monster
in the ring music hits and I'm on, you're you're
that's the guy you're getting.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Outside of it, you'll get a you'll get an Osca,
you'll get a quiet guy.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Like how did you do that? I mean, you were
You're one of the nicest guys, the sweetest guys that
I've I've ever met and but I've ever spoken to.
But in the ring you're like one of the most
vicious men I've ever seen.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
How do you?

Speaker 2 (16:17):
How do you do?

Speaker 1 (16:18):
You just snap a finger and you become that cyrus.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Yeah, yeah, I flipped that switch switch doctor jac mister
hot deal. So it's just about going deep within and
bringing it out and letting it loose.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Okay, you know you don't have to just like sit
there for like a half hour and bring it. That
just comes right out.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Yeah, I can. I can flip it. I can flip
it in the switch showing anybody.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
So I asked I'd ask you to do it now,
but I don't want you to ruin the I think
it looks like you're in the basement there. I don't
want you to, but did you actually did you hear
them when they announced you for Champion Carnival. The crowd
just popped.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
It's like, yeah, went back and heard it and all that,
and then they sent me the video of it to
share and and uh, yeah, the crowd popped, and you know,
that was an exciting time.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
So yeah, I mean, you got such terrific support from
from the all Japan parresting fans. That's gonna be a
great feeling.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
It is.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
It's a tremendous feeling. Like you know, when I went
back in June, as you know, I was mystery acts
that they had been advertising so before him. Before I
go back, you know, they tell me not to post
anything then I'm flying into Japan or anything like that,
and I and I did, and then I.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Posted pictures of me fishing like the day before.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
It looked like I was still fishing in America, you know,
and everybody was like, man, that's smart, and I was like, well,
you want to feel like I'm not here, so yeah,
and then I remember.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
That night too. I was I was worried. I was
afraid I might here crickets.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
I was like, yeah, maybe nobody go crazy when I
go out there and you know, co working Hard sold
out that night, so you're looking at a little over
two thousand. Yeah, I go out there and that whole
building erupted and they were so surprised, and I loved it,
and you know, that was That's a great feeling, like

(18:19):
in anybody's life, when people cheer you like that, it's
you know, you're doing something rock.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Yeah, I mean I popped. I popped. I mean I
didn't know. I mean I know where we're friends, but
I had no idea you were. But when when you
when they announced you, I was like, whoa Cyrus is back?
That was, like you said, everyone just popped and that
was that was awesome. But even on social media, like
whenever you post something, you get like tons of retweets
and tons of likes. H how like when you first started,

(18:48):
I know it wasn't like that. But what do you
what do you think the fans have taken to you
you because you remind them of Vader or they you're
you're you're big guy. What do you think they've taken
to you?

Speaker 2 (18:58):
And I think they take to that because one I
do remind him of Vader and and then too, I.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Think that they love that I right right right in kanji,
like that right in Japanese to him, you know, when
I'm talking to him. So, but then too, they just
they like to see how I lived my life and
and it's just it's a joyful for him. So and
you know, they love meeting me because usually when they're

(19:30):
first meeting me, they're scared of me.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
And then they meet me and then they're like, oh,
he's he's such a nice guy. And you know, they've
asked me so many times they're like, Sorrus, you know,
how are you so mean in the ring and not
mean to me? And I was like, well, you don't
have anything I want? And what did I say? Oh?

(19:52):
I said to one, there's no money in it.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
You don't. You don't you don't have the trip of
Crown Championships, so that you ain't got no gold. When
when you first came into the All Japan, I think
was it three years ago?

Speaker 2 (20:08):
It was a three years three years two?

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Yeah, let's see now that was the end of twenty twenty,
no twenty twenty one in summer, right, because that was
the fiftieth wasn't it.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
The fiftieth World Road.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
I think so, yeah, maybe it was twenty twenty one.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
Yeah, because I know my first when I first went
to All Japan, I got invited to go and do
the their fiftieth anniversary.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Okay, so and that was a big honor right there.
So I enjoyed that.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Yeah. So, Actually, what I was getting to when you
first came in, did you have to earn everybody's respect?
I know you have a lot of big stars like
kent To Miahara did did he did he take you
right away? Or did you have to earn like respect
of kent To Miyahara or yum Yagi or the other stars.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
You know, it's funny in wrestling when companies bringing in
and they watch you to see if if you can
really do what they've seen you do on Medeo like
and they're wondering, can he do this?

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Or I guess, as you would say, is he trained
and I saw him getting the rings? Just work out?

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Because but you know a lot of people don't know
this secret with me, but I have a big thing
about wrestling. The invisible man that I was talking from
an old guy a long time ago.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
It's like he's like the.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
Invisible man is the best wrestler you'll ever wrestle because
he never goes under, he never loses at all, and
he always gets one up on you no matter what.
And it took a while to understand it, but then
I got it. So I go in there and I
pretend like there's someone across them. Man, I'm wrestling on
and we do moves so people might people might think

(21:49):
I'm crazy.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
So then they're like, Okay, I like him because he's crazy.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
So you're speaking of movies, I'm still I'm still waiting
to see that move. Saw, What are you gonna pull
that one out again?

Speaker 3 (22:02):
Is that if they give me that, if they give
me a triple Crown shot, you know, or or if
I make it to the end and the Champion Carnival,
you know, I.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
Might see it.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Well, you know. It's just it's one of those.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
And I thought about doing it a couple of times
on the last tour, and I came real close to
do it, and then I was like, no, No.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
It's got to be a bigger moment.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
So to me, that move is it's a moment move,
and it's that move that I want people to remember
it for a lifetime, not that Oh he done it
every single match, or he done it once a month
or something like that.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
He done it. He done it to me. This is
what it took.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
Okay, so I I could see you doing it to
say eto for the Triple Crown title. That's that that
I would I will expect that. I'll expect you to
see that. Yeah, yeah, I would love to do I
was gonna say if, but I should say when that
match occurs. When that match occurs. Uh, do you have
Monny unfinished business with Kent Tobiahara? I know you guys
were I think last year.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
He is just a thorn in my side. Like even
during the Tag League. I don't know if you if
you saw the match or anything. It was him and
Davy Boy against me and Hartley. Yeah, and uh, I
mean and he and I we went out there and fault.
But it's just he's just a thorn in my side,
a great competitor, Like I love wrestling him, it's just

(23:28):
it's just.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Man, he gets me.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
I'm like, but you know, you're wrestling probably one of
the best in the world in my opinion, Like, and
I tell people that I'm not I'm not bitter towards
it or anything.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
I think he's really one of the best wrestlers.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
In the world, and I think you go toe to
toe with with anybody that he wanted to so I
you know, I have the utmost respect for him, but
you know, if we're standing against the ring against each other,
he is my enemy.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
I agree, he's one of the best wrestlers in the world.
I'm surprised he hasn't wrestled state side at all. I
think it would be a big star if he became.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
I think so too. I think I think he'd be
a big story anywhere he went.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Yeah, just absolutely, yeah, absolutely. Actually, you said thorn on
your side. I know I mentioned Katamahara, but my next
question was, actually, what about Kurotio Tokyo, Japan. Now he's
been a thorn on your side, he's been a huge
thorn on your side. Are you gonna try to get
your hands on him during the next tour?

Speaker 2 (24:29):
Yeah, if I can, I definitely will.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Like you know, he's got his own show in Japan too,
And it was funny when I went back in the summer,
I showed up to that show.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
And I went out there and killed him.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
So he's dead.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
So he's gone. No, he's still around. I thought I
killed him.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
But Okaya with Tachibana.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
You know, there's a clip where people see me. Uh,
everybody could have sworn that I killed him. Even my
own team like Akuto were like, Cyrus just killed Tachibata
because Power bottoed him on the rail.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
Yeah, and uh they're looking at me, And I remember
Hartley was like, do you have to kill him? I
was like, like, he got on my nerves.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
So hey, he got on my nerves, so I killed him.
I'm syrius, I'm crazy.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
Yeah, it's pro wrestling.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
He'll be okay, He'll be okay.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, he'll recover.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
So the Tag League, I forget where month it is,
but is Harley Jackson gonna be a partner again or
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
I'm not sure like that.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
They haven't gave me all those details ship or anything
like that, so so I pretty much I go by
like a month by month's basis.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
So when you know, when they told me about Champion
Carnival and all that, I was like, okay, So.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
I'll start trying to focus on and wondering like who's
my first opponent going to be?

Speaker 2 (26:07):
And then let's go from there and get ready.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
So, if you were able to choose your partner, which
do you have one of mine?

Speaker 2 (26:15):
There? You know I've wrestled.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
I've wrestled some great guys and with some great guys
in the past in the Tag League. If I had
to choose, if I had to choose, if you gave
me three, to choose one, if it was one that's
with the company right now, I would choose Davy boy Okay,
I think that would be a great tag team, foreign

(26:40):
tag team, Ryan Davidson or because me and him tagged
we showed a lot of charisma and character. And then
Hartley Jackson of course, I mean because he's a powerhouse also,
So I think you know, I think the all Japan
fans they enjoy seeing and all foreign tag team too.
So they like seeing that because it reminds them those

(27:04):
you know, h Dynamite Kid and all now that all
tagged together.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
And it's like, well yeah, So if if ifto got
upset that that you are team with David boy Smith Jr.
Would that manage you or you would do it anyway?

Speaker 3 (27:22):
I thinkto would be art with that because I think
would be believing that we're going to get Davy Boy
on our side at some point and they'd be like, well, Cyrus,
get talking into it.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
How do you think that? How do you think the
fact is progressing? I know, do you think it should
be doing better than than it's doing right now, or
do you think it's progressing as it's as uh as
well as you thought it would.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
I call it in faction. You know, you either have
your butt store where everything's going off without a without
a without a shell, or.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
Well, yeah, everything's going off with a bang, or you're
having your growing pains. So I think we have some
of our growing pains, but I think we're still I
love I love the characters in our faction because everybody
is different, so different.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
Yeah, yeah, like.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
You've got every everyone is truly different. I mean you
got Kuma, which is known as the bear.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
Uh they call him the Bear. Cyrus is known as
the monster of course. Yeah, So I enjoy it.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
So I just think, you know, it's a it's a
learning process, but I think we can be we can
end up being one of the top factions in al
Japan Pro Wrestling.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Okay, now, now Kokutuo more a great young talent. There's
a lot of other great young talent as well, yuma
Anzai or yu Kihanda, rising Hayato. The future looks right
for Al Japan par Wrestling and the crowds. Crowds are
really growing. Do you think it's because the new young
talent that's that's coming in, like the Human's Eyes and
the Hondas and the Moreys. It seems like kend Hamahara

(29:07):
is still the face, but it seems like he's taking
a little step back and he's letting these guys you
carry the load for a bit. Is that Is that
a fair assumption?

Speaker 2 (29:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Yeah, I mean I would say that, but I would
say like every part has its part, like everything has
its part in that business.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
I think what's really helping them grow is they have
a variety. So now everybody's getting to see a variety
of wrestling.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
And then they're getting to see like a mix of
wrestling where where you have some of the younger guys
going to get some of the older guys, or you know,
you have the David and Golac matches, you know, things
like that where you know, as before you didn't get
ahold lot of that, but now that that's all happened,
you know, the crowds into that that they enjoy seeing it.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Yeah, I'm noticing a croquet hall. Is it only out
quite a bit? We're very close. It's only out now Corkinghall.
With all your events and the events are are just
just fantastic. It's just I wish they were all live
on all Japan Processing TV, but unfortunately they're not. But yeah,
but you guys al Japan Pressing is really really lighting

(30:17):
it on fire at the moment.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
Yeah, yeah, I think I think we cleared I think
we had a cleared cow senda once we cleared six thousand.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
Yeah, so so you know that was that was pretty huge.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
But then with all that, like when we were in Hiroshima,
you know, I was I was an ecstatic about Hiroshima.
Hiroshima sold out and so so and then when I
got to go to when we went up to Supploro,
like the hall room, you know, the ballrooms and stuff
that we did, they sold out.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
It was you know, it was a good feeling seeing that.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
But you know, it just I think everything also had
to take time to regrow the audience, especially after COVID
because everybody was so cautious and stuff, and you know,
it's a scary thing. Like you know, anything that happens
dramatic to the world like that, it's a it's a
scary thing.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
So it takes a little bit. You take a big hit,
but then it takes a little bit of time to
get that base field back up. But then when you
get the characters and you get the people, where people.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
Are like, man, I really want to go see this
guy live, Like I want to see this guy in person,
you know, And it's it's a surreal feeling to them
when they get to see that person.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
Live, you know.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
Yeah, But like I said, the shows have been absolutely fantastic.
Now I've been, I've been, we have like five minutes left.
I know, I've been mentioning judas a itito. But there's
a very good chance that you might Yagi might be
the triple Grand Champion by the time Champion Chronicle comes around.
Does that make a difference to you?

Speaker 2 (31:55):
No, no note at all. You know you might you might.

Speaker 3 (31:59):
Don't kind of screw this out of that six man, Yeah, yeah,
I know, so I would kind of got I'd like
to get a little bit of my payback on them, all.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
Right, And it's a shaming now the same. Uh, I
think he's in He's in black B B black, So yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
Yeah, unless you know he goes to the finals and
B and I go in the finals.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
And then you could hit him with.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Take him something.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Two more questions, Two more questions. When the next All
Together event is announced? Uh, and if you're asked to participate,
are there any opponents that come to mind from from
any of the promotions. Personally, I'm thinking man or Masakey
to Mia from Pressing Noah, But do you have any
opponents in minds that you like to U face off?

Speaker 2 (32:50):
Fun?

Speaker 3 (32:51):
You know, I just enjoyed the privilege of being able
to wrestle anyone over there because I get to learn,
and you know, it's honored to wrestle anyone, and you
know that that's what I look forward to.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
I look forward to no matter what.

Speaker 3 (33:06):
I'm going to learn something in that ring and I'm
want to bring my best to represent my company in
that match.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Okay, last question? What's the ultimate goal for twenty twenty
five for Cyrus?

Speaker 3 (33:23):
Well, it would be too One would be to win
the Champion Carnival and then and then to go on
and win the Triple Crown.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
So that would be the ultimate goal.

Speaker 1 (33:33):
Ultimate goal, Okay, and I think you have a very
good shot at doing that. I think you have a
very good shot. Yeah, I have a feeling that this
is your year for some reason.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
This is this is I'm hoping, you know, like you know,
and then you know, that's the reason that I'm training
harder and I'm working out harder because I wanted to
be that year.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
You know. I did a post I said it was
about the Champion Carnival.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
I said, yes, I know, it might be the year
of the Snake in Japan, but it's also going to
be the year of the Monster. And you know that
went that went viral with all all the all Japan
fans and all of them saying, yeah, yes, you are.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
All right, all right man, Well it could very well
be the year of the Monster. So I'm looking forward
to your return. I just want to say thank you
so much for joining me, always having always a pleasure
and a privilege to talk to you. It's the first
time we're doing this for Progresting Wire. If you check
us out, actually you gave us a nice plug, so
I thank you for that. Thank you for the for

(34:38):
the plug on X, for the promusting wire, but lots
of luck. Like I said, I have a feeling you're
gonna win the Champion Carnival, so I'm gonna wish you
good luck on that, good luck for the rest of
the year, and always please you, always welcome here. Please
come back and let's talk again real soon.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
Thank you for having me.

Speaker 1 (34:57):
