Il 15 agosto 2020 si è chiusa la finestra temporale per presentare domanda di regolarizzazione per i cittadini stranieri presenti sul territorio: sono state presentate circa 220.000 domande.
Al 31 dicembre 2020, erano stati rilasciati poco più di 10.000 permessi di soggiorno in tutta Italia. A gennaio e febbraio non si è visto alcun aumento significativo.
Di questo passo ci vorranno 30 anni per evadere e concludere l'iter di tutte le domande: si tratta di lasciare la vita di oltre 200.000 persone in sospeso. Una vergogna di Stato.
