Speaker 1 (00:00):
We go testing one too, Okay, wonderful. So I'm doing
my spaces in what for me is the middle of
the night. And so if I let me think how
to say it, if I am kind of rambly, I apologize,
(00:22):
and potentially I might need to, oh, thank you coding.
Potentially I might need to re record this because usually
I do these with notes prepared in advance, and I'm
just alert ish and awake tonight, and so I'm going
to go ahead and record now. So actually, let me
(00:47):
get my powercord as well. Again, I'm so sorry everybody,
but this is a little bit slower paced than usual.
Hold on, h kay.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Kay, m hm.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Hey, got my mouse, got my laptop, got my power cord.
Let me pull up my Bible program. H there we
go and here we go on spaces. Oh, wonderful, absolutely okay,
(01:58):
here we go on mute. Okay, wonderful. So great to
be here. Let's get started. Heavenly Father, thank you for
your word, and I pray for your spirit to bring
us wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you. In
Jesus's name, I thank you, Father that your word is
a lamp to our feet and a light tire path
(02:20):
in Jesus' name, Holy Spirit. Please come, I request you,
I invite you, Lord, and I ask you to teach us,
give us understanding, and put things in perspective in Jesus's name. Amen.
So wants to talk about the enemy for a few reasons.
(02:42):
One thing that comes to mind to start off with
is that I have heard in the past that in
the Old Testament there was no revelation of the Gospel.
This is not the case. There are literally word for
word conversations document about that people had with the devil
(03:04):
in the Old Testament, and two of them that I'm
thinking of, were literally taking place in the spirit realm,
not in the physical realm. So let's look at two
(03:24):
Timothy three sixteen. Every scripture is God breathed, given by
His inspiration, and profitable for instruction, for reproof, conviction of sin,
for correction of error, discipline and obedience, and for training
in righteousness and holy living and conformity to God's will
(03:47):
and thought, purpose and action. Let me give that to
you in perhaps another translation that makes the revelation part
of it a little bit more clear than just to
say God breathed, although I like that too. Timothy two
(04:09):
Timothy three sixteen. Okay, all scriptures inspired by God. All
scripture is given, uh, given by inspiration of God. Everything
in scriptures is God's word. Yeah. Actually, a lot of
(04:35):
translations say inspired by God. So let's go with that
God breathed and inspired by God. To understand that these
passages that reveal what the enemy said, word for word,
which took place in the spirit realm, that was by
(04:58):
revelation of the Holy Spirit. Okay. So one of the
conversations that happened in the physical realm was in Genesis.
I believe it's in chapter three here it is, beginning
(05:20):
of the chapter. Let's go through it word for word,
recitation recorded very long ago about what took place in
the garden of Eden. And let me also actually get
the scripture about from the book of.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Okay, Revelation chapter twelve, very nice. Okay, Genesis chapter three,
starting with the verse one. Now, the serpent was more
subtle and crafty than any living creature of the field
which the Lord God had made. Let's establish it. This
(06:11):
is Satan Revelation twelve nine. And the huge dragon was
cast down and out that age old serpent, who is
called the devil and Satan. He who is the seducer
deceiver of all humanity the world over. He was forced
(06:32):
out and down to the earth, and his angels were
flung out along with him. That's Revelation twelve nine. And
this is when it's talking about the age old serpent.
Here we go and he Satan said to the woman,
can it really be that God has said you shall
(06:54):
not eat from every tree of the garden. And the
woman said to the serpent, we may eat of the
fruit from the trees of the garden, except the fruit
from the tree which is in the middle of the garden.
God has said, you shall not eat of it. Neither
shall you touch it lest you die. Of course, if
(07:15):
you are familiar with the Bible, if you've done your reading,
done your studying, done your looking into these things, you
know that he did not say it not to touch it.
He said to dress it and keep it, which certainly
involves touching it. But they weren't to eat of its fruit.
But the serpent said to the woman, you shall not
(07:36):
surely die, for God knows that in the day you
eat of it, your eyes will be open and you
will be like God, knowing the difference between good and evil.
Blessing and calamity. And when the woman saw that the
tree was good, suitable, pleasant for food, and that it
was delightful to look at, and a tree to be
desired in order to make one wise, she took of
(07:58):
its fruit and ate. She gave some also to her
husband with her, and he ate. Okay, let us look
at I'm gonna look at another translation for this as well,
Bible Hub Genesis three. Okay, I should have put Genesis
(08:37):
three to one. I really like Bible Hub because of
all the list of translations. But it is a tool
that you have to be specific. Okay, So yeah, this
(08:59):
is good King James's version. Now, the serpent was more
cunning than any beasts of the field which the Lord
God had made. And he said to the woman, has
God indeed said you shall not eat of every tree
of the garden. And the woman said to the serpent,
we may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden.
(09:24):
But of the fruit of the tree which is in
the midst of the garden, God has said, you shall
not eat it, nor shall you touch it lest you
die Genesis three four. And the serpent said to the woman,
you will not surely die. I want to get that
in a literal. And the serpent says to the woman dying,
(09:50):
you do not die. Yeah, that's a quote, right, because
that's what the Lord told them. What happen in dying,
you will die. So there's the lie right there, New
King James, for God knows that in the day you
(10:11):
eat of it, your eyes will be open and you
will be like God, knowing good and evil. So when
the woman saw that the tree was good for food,
that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree
desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit
and ate. She also gave to her husband with her
and he ate. I'm just looking for the Yeah, okay,
(10:39):
So that is the thing that I want to explain
about this before I go to some of the Old
Testament accounts of the Enemy that were revealed to people
by the Holy Spirit, I want to talk about how
(10:59):
every situation of choice on earth, this side of eternity,
that has a spiritual load to it is in essence
the garden of Eden all over again, this conversation, all
(11:23):
over again, this questioning half God said, did God say that?
Is the Enemy's tactic all the time. He is always
looking to bring confusion raise questions, not the type of
(11:52):
questions that lead to further obedience or more exact obedience.
I'm talking about the kind of questions so as to
raise doubts and uncertainty. And this is his pattern all
the time, and he's looking for weaknesses as well. When
(12:21):
Eve said, when the woman, because she wasn't Eve yet,
she wasn't called that yet. But when the woman said
to the serpent that God said, neither shall you touch it?
That was not what God said. And so her inaccuracy
(12:42):
was a further opportunity for the enemy to deceive her.
And if she had been dressing it and keeping it
like God said to do with Adam, she wouldn't Eve.
She would have been less likely to fall for that
(13:04):
thought in her head, neither shall you touch it. Moving
on from that, the way that the enemy wanted her
to choose, to imagine that she could choose for herself
(13:26):
what is right, what is wrong, what is good, what
is evil, what is true, what is false? That same
scenario is replayed all over for with every person, every
human who has a human father has a said nature
has that because of descending from Adam, Adam being our
(13:51):
biological ancestor, Jesus is the only one who didn't have
a human father. The Holy Spirit created him in womb,
so he was able to not need a redeemer himself.
He was not born with that inherent corruption. The Bible
talks about how the sins of the Father are passed
(14:12):
down to the third and fourth generations. I won't get
into all that. I just wanted to specifically point out
how crucial understanding the dynamic of the conversation in the
Garden of Eden is to understanding daily life and the
way things play out. Okay, and I think I'll mention
(14:36):
here as well that it's not a good idea to
spend time listening to people who have been in service
to the enemy Jesus refers to as the father of lies,
and reference them as a source of expertise on the enemy,
(15:00):
on the things of the enemy, much less on anything else,
as opposed to going to the word of God. We
are founded on the apostles and prophets Christ, Jesus himself
being the chief cornerstone. Jesus said, we hear his sayings,
we act upon them. We may be compared to a
wise master builder who dug deep and laid our foundation
(15:23):
on the rock, so let's keep going here. I think
it is Isaiah fourteen as the next one. I believe
I want to go to Let's look at the Weymouth. No,
let's look at Wickliffe. Okay, here we go. Okay, yeah,
(16:03):
I'm going to start reading. I think with verse one.
Lucifer is mentioned by name starting with verse twelve, so
that's important. But I'm just going to go get through
it and if you're short on time, maybe come back
(16:27):
to it later. Here we go Isaiah fourteen. For why
the Lord shall have mercy see of Jacob, and he
shall choose yet of Israel, and shall make them four
to rest on their land. A comelink shall be joined
to them, and shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
(16:48):
For the Lord shall have mercy on Jacob, and he
shall yet choose Israel, and shall give them rest on
their land. A newcomer shall be joined to them, and
shall cleave to the house of Jacob. And people shall
hold them, and shall bring them into their place. And
the House of Israel shall have them in possession into
(17:09):
servants and handmaid handmaids on the land of the Lord.
And they shall take those men that took them. They
shall make subject their wrongful askers, and the peoples or
the nations shall help them and shall bring them back
to their place. And then the House of Israel shall
(17:30):
have them in possession for servants and servant tesses in
the land of the Lord. And they shall take captive
those who took them captive, and they shall make subject
their oppressors. And it shall be in that day when
God shall give thee rest of thy travail and of
thy shaking, and of hard servage in which thou servantest before.
(17:53):
And it shall be on that day when God shall
give thee rest from thy labor, and from thy fear
and true and from the hard servitude, or from the
slavery in which thou servest before. Thou shalt take this
parable against the King of Babylon, and thou shalt say,
how ceast the wrong asker rested the tribute. Thou shalt
(18:18):
take up this parable against the King of Babylon, And
thou shalt say, how the oppressor hath fallen, the tribute
is now ceased, how the mighty have fallen the oppression
or the servitude is now ended. The Lord hath all
broken the staff of wicked men the rod of lords
(18:39):
that beat peoples in indignation with incurable wound, uncurable wound,
that subjected folks in strong vengeance, that pursued cruelly. They
who beat the peoples in anger with incurable wounds, They
who subjected the nations to strong vengeance, and who cruelly
(19:00):
pursued them. Each land rested and was still, It was
joyful and made full out joy. Also the fir trees
and the cedars of Lebanon were glad on thee, and said,
since thou sleptist, none ascendeth that cutteth us down. Hell
(19:21):
under thee is troubled for the meeting of thy coming.
He shall raise giants to thee. All the princes of
the earth have risen from their seats, all the princes
of nations. She all under thee is troubled at the
meeting of thy coming. It shall raise up the dead
for thee. All the kings of the earth have risen
(19:43):
up from their thrones, all the leaders of the nations.
All they shall answer, and they shall say to THEE,
and thou art wounded, as we thou art made like us.
They shall answer, and they shall say to THEE, and
thou thou art wounded like we be, Thou art made
like us. Thy pride is drawn down to Hell's Thy
(20:07):
dead carrion fell down. Thy pride is drawn down to
shiol or the land of the dead. Thy corpses fell down.
A moth shall be strewed under thee, and thy covering
shall be worms. So starting with verse nine, there this
is a description of Hell right there, Okay, starting with
(20:29):
verse twelve, A lucifer that ridesest early? How fell'st thou
down from heaven? Thou that woundest folks fellst down all
together into the earth? O lucifer who rised up early?
How thou hast fallen down from heaven? Thou who hast
(20:49):
wounded the nations fell down to the ground. You know
what I'm going to mention briefly is most translations have
left out left out the word lucifer from Isaiah fourteen twelve.
(21:11):
Can you even imagine left it out? And it's important
to understand what a big deal translating the Bible is.
When you create reference material for people to understand life,
(21:35):
eternity and God. That is a huge responsibility and it
should be undertaken with prayer. The position should be treated
like a privilege. But what's been done in the past
is funding was arranged. People went into rooms inside buildings
(22:02):
where people weren't necessarily looking over their shoulder hugely. They
weren't their work wasn't necessarily wasn't simply that their work
wasn't necessarily examined in the rigorous manner it ought to
have been. It's also that the intercession and the intervention
(22:24):
of binding and loosing the kingdom of darkness and running
interference for the translators to prevent the enemy from entering
in and bringing various types of deception, tricks, traps, snares
whereby to divert distract, or destroy the people from doing
(22:45):
an accurate work and faithfulness. This was not done as
it needed to be. We do see there are inaccuracies
in translations that were evidently preventable, evidently should have been
handled more responsively. There's a precious ministry gift named Charles
(23:10):
Capps who used to share a story about a group
of translators who were translating the Bible many years ago,
and they came to the passage in Isaiah fifty three
where it talks about how Jesus bore our griefs and
(23:30):
carried our sorrows, and it would have been more accurate
to translate at sickness and disease, but somebody in charge said, no,
we're not going to do that because that might provide
(23:51):
validation to people preaching preaching and teaching divine healing. So
they were concerned, like the Pharisees and Sadducees of old
with Jesus, that they would lose political clout and power
and influence if they made room for those who were
(24:16):
actually ministering faithfully in accordance with God's word. Something like
that should have been international news. And anyway, I'm not
going to take a bunch of time for that. I
just want to specifically mention what a sensitive and delicate
(24:37):
thing it is to participate in translating the Bible, what
a huge honor and responsibility it is. It should never
be left to artificial intelligence. A computer should never tell
us our truths about the God whom we worship, should
(24:58):
never tell us what we should build our life upon.
That should never be delegated out to a computer. We
should never trust computer programs to tell us what the
truth is. That's the type of thing that is a
huge responsibility with eternal ramifications. Okay, moving back to the Bible, Ah, Lucifer,
(25:27):
that risest early, how fellst thou down from heaven? Thou
that woundest folks, fellest down all together into the earth?
Oh Lucifer who rises up early, How thou hast fallen
down from heaven? You who has wounded the nations, fell
down to the ground, which saidest in thine heart, I
(25:49):
shall ascend into heaven. I shall enhance my seat above
the stars of the heavens. I shall sit in the
hill of the Testament, in the sides of the north.
Who settest in thy heart, I shall ascend into heaven.
I shall exalt or, I shall set my throne above
the stars of the heavens. I shall sit on the
mountains where the gods meet, on the sides of the north.
(26:14):
I shall ascend on the highest highness of the clouds.
I shall be like the highest. I don't think it
says like the highest. I think the original language he said,
I shall be the highest. Nevertheless, thou shalt be drawn
down to Hell into the depth of the pit. They
(26:38):
that shall see thee shall be bowed down to thee
and shall behold thee. And they shall say, whether this
is the man that troubled the earth, that shook together realms?
And they shall say, is this the man who troubled
the earth, who shook the kingdoms, that set it the
world desert, and destroy the cities thereof, And opened not
(27:02):
the prison to the bound men of him who turned
the world into a desert and destroyed its cities, and
never opened his prison to release the bound, to release
his bound, to release his prisoners. All the kings of
heathen men all slept in glory, a man in his house,
all the kings of the heathen, They all slept in glory,
(27:25):
each man in his own house or his own tomb.
But thou art cast out of thy sepulcher as an
unprofitable stock, as a defouled with rot, and wrapped with
them that be slain with sword, and went down to
the foundament of the pit as a rotten carrion, like
(27:45):
a rotten corpse. Thou shalt not have fellowship neither with
them in sepulcher, for thou hast lost thy land, thou
hast slain the people. The seed of the worst men
shall not be called without end. Thou shalt not have
fellowship with them in the tomb or in the grave.
(28:05):
For thou hast destroyed thy land, and thou hast killed
thy own people. The children or the descendants of these
evil people shall never be seen again. Okay, there's a
(28:27):
little bit left. Okay, so that what I've read there
is the main part that pertains to Lucifer, who is
called the devil in Satan. And so that was by
revelation of the Holy Spirit those things that Satan said.
(28:55):
He was trying to have the faith of God. The
Bible says that we have the same spirit of faith.
According to what is written, I believe, therefore I spoke.
We also believe, therefore also we speak. He was trying
to operate in that Romans chapter four. I think it
(29:15):
might be starting with verse seventeen. You can look it
up if you're interested. It talks about how God gives
life to the dead and calls those things which be
not as though they were. One translation says, God speaks
of nonexistent things he has foretold and promised as if
they already existed. That's what Satan was trying to operate
(29:39):
in when he was up to when he was doing that.
And let's look at Job. If I had been more prepared,
I would have looked up the verses pertaining to Job's
growing revelation understanding through the Book of the Enemies, participation
(30:08):
in what was taking place with him. But I did
not take time to do that. So I will just
give you the conversation that was revealed by the Holy Spirit,
because Job wasn't there in person in Job chapter one.
(30:33):
Let's look at verse six. And in a day when
the sons of God were come to be present before
the Lord, also Satan came among them. Now why, oh, okay,
let me get this in an easier to read translation.
(30:54):
I want to use Wickliffe for Isaiah fourteen because Wickliffe
was faithful to the Word and faithful to the Lord,
to include Lucifer's name in that passage. See the enemy.
The enemy doesn't want to be embarrassed. He doesn't want
to be exposed. He doesn't want people reading that he
(31:16):
was thrown down from heaven. He doesn't want people reading
that said that he said he would be the highest
and he would let me get it, let me get it.
Let's embarrass him a little right now. The enemy doesn't
want humans knowing that he said he would exalt his
(31:36):
seat above the stars of heaven, and that he would
sit in the hill of the Testament and the mountain
on the sides of the North. He doesn't want people
knowing that stuff. He doesn't want people knowing that people
were going to say, is this the one who troubled
(31:57):
the earth, who shook the kingdoms? He doesn't want people
to know that he's the one who turned the world
into a desert and destroyed its cities. He wants people
to think that was God's will, It was some mysterious
way of blessing humanity. Blah blah blah. His crap and
garbage doctrines of demons. He wants to craft the narrative.
(32:19):
He's a liar, he's a thief, he's a sneak, he's
a coward. He's super controlling and manipulative. Okay, let's get
back to job one. Okay. Verse six, And in a
day when the sons of God were come to be
present before the Lord, also Satan came among them. Now,
(32:43):
keep in mind, the Bible already told us that Satan
was cast down out of heaven. He's a fallen angel.
So he used to do this with the other angels.
He used to present himself with them, but he is
not part of their ranks anymore. There's actually a verse
(33:06):
that talks about how he's unemployed. In one translation, that
is one of my favorite verses. I'm like, yep, that's you, devil, unemployed.
Nobody receives you into their ranks. And I don't say
that to be discouraging towards anyone who is using their
(33:29):
faith to not be unemployed and to be gainfully employed.
You be encouraged. The Bible talks about how believers are
accepted and beloved, and Jesus uses the key of David
for us, and he opens doors for us that no
man can shut, and he closes doors no man can open. Okay,
(33:51):
let me figure out what I'm doing here. I do
not understand. Oh there it is great, Okay, wonderful, lovely. Okay.
So I'm scrolling down down down to Colossians. There it
is okay. This is from Colossians to fifteen to fifteen.
(34:25):
It says he openly displayed jesus triumph over Satan, disarming
him and his entire band of spirits down to the
last demon on the cross. He stripped the demonic powers
and authorities of their power, and made a public spectacle
of them, as if they had been captives in a
victor's triumphal procession. That's why in the Book of Acts,
(34:49):
when the seven sons of Skiva were attempted to cast
out a spirit from a demonic spirit from a man,
that the spirit in there said, Jesus I know, and Paul,
I've heard of. But who are you? The reason why
those fallen angels know who Jesus is is right here.
And he disarmed the principalities and powers which fought against
(35:11):
him and put them to open shame, leading them captive.
In the triumph of Christ. He rid himself of all
the powers of evil, held them up to open contempt.
When he celebrated his triumph over them on the cross,
he set himself and us free from all the spirit
(35:31):
powers of evil. On the cross, he put them to
open shame and triumphed over them. And the hostile princes
and rulers he shook off from himself and boldly displayed
them as his conquests. When by the cross he triumphed
over them, he stripped away from himself all trammels of
principalities and powers. He paraded them unsparingly as he hailed
(35:56):
them in the triumph of the Cross. Their Christ stripped
the demonic rulers and authorities of their power over him,
and in his own triumph made a public show of them.
He despoiled the infernal dominions and realms, He dragged their
rulers as captives in procession, and through his cross he
(36:18):
led us all to triumph. And then, having drawn the
sting of all the powers ranged against us, he exposed
them shattered, empty and defeated in his final glorious triumphant act.
And he tore the swords from the hands of all
the spirit rulers and the powers in the spirit world.
(36:39):
And by his resurrection Christ demonstrated the emptiness of every
earthly power. When God acts, you have this kind of
triumph in life because of your relation to God through Christ. Okay,
I don't seem to have included the translation in this
list that calls the devil unemployed. So okay, getting back
(37:02):
to the Bible, so it says in verse seven to
whom the Lord said, from whence comest thou? Okay, that's interesting, Well,
fancy your language that I'm used to in this translation.
(37:23):
So Satan also came among them, to whom the Lord said,
from whence camest thou? And Satan answered and said, I
have compassed the earth, and I've walked through it. No,
this is not amplified classic I can tell that. Let
me try this again. Okay, here we go. Now there
(37:44):
was a day when the Suns, the angels of God,
came to present themselves before the Lord. And Satan, the
adversarian accuser, also came among them. And the Lord said
to Satan, from where did you come? Then Satan answered
the Lord, from going to and fro on the earth,
and from walking up and down on it. And the
(38:04):
Lord said to Satan, have you considered my servant Job,
that there is none like him on the earth, a
blameless and upright man, one who reverently fears God and
abstains from and shuns evil because it is wrong. Then
Satan answered, the Lord does Job reverently fear God for nothing?
(38:24):
Have you not put a hedge about him and his
house and all that he has on every side? You
have conferred prosperity a happiness upon him in the work
of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.
But put forth your hand now and touch all that
he has, and he will curse you to your face.
And the Lord said to Satan, the adversary and the accuser, behold,
(38:46):
all that he has is in your power. Only upon
the man himself, put not forth your hand. So Satan
went forth from the presence of the Lord. Obviously, the
Lord did not put forth his hand like Satan wanted.
So Satan decided to put forth his hand as the
Lord knew he would. Okay, if you're not familiar with
(39:12):
this story, you're going to have to look it up
and read into it for yourself. And I encourage you
to ask the Holy Spirit for revelation. I'm going to
stick to the topic tonight, but don't settle for the
version of events that religious or ignorant or unbelieving people
give you. Okay. So that was Isaiah oh, Genesis three
(39:44):
and Isaiah fourteen and job won and Revelation twelve nineteen.
So now let's look at what Jesus had to say
(40:11):
about the enemy. Let's look at a few things. Let's
look at I apologize for the clicking clacking keys. Usually
I have these notes, but in the middle of the
night tonight, we're just gonna go for it, okay, John
(40:31):
eight forty four. So I'm going to read that. I'm
wondering if I want to start a little bit early. Yeah,
(40:51):
I do, I do. Okay, this is really good John.
(41:18):
Gospel of John, chapter eight. I keep going back farther
and farther. Yeah. This is when he thwarted the Pharisees
(41:44):
who wanted to execute that woman who obviously they were
committing adultery with, perhaps not all of them, but how
did they know how to catch her in the very
act right so verse? So he thwarted them. If you
don't know about that, I recommend you read it. It's good,
(42:06):
real good to know about that. How Jesus delivered her
from their judgment and accusations, even though she was guilty
as they were. Okay, let's look at verse twelve once more.
Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, I am the light
of the world. He who follows me will not be
walking in the dark, but will have the light which
(42:27):
is life. Whereupon the Pharisees told him, you're testifying on
your own behalf. Your testimony is not valid and is worthless.
They wish right verse fourteen, Jesus answered, even If I
do testify on my own behalf, my testimony is true, reliable, valid,
for I know where I came from and where I
am going. But you do not know where I come
(42:49):
from or where I am going. You set yourselves up
to judge according to the flesh by what you see.
You condemned by external human standards. I do not set
myself up to j or condemn or sentence anyone. Uh
of course, Okay, I won't even get into that yet.
Even if I do judge, my judgment is true. My
decision is right, for I am not alone in making it.
(43:11):
But there are two of us, the father who sent
me I and the father who sent me. In your
own law, it has written the testimony evidence of two
persons is reliable and valid. I am one of the
two bearing testimony concerning myself and my father who sent me.
He also testifies about me. Then they said to him,
(43:33):
where is this father of yours? So keep in mind
this is potentially alluding to Joseph, who is not really
mentioned in the Bible. After Jesus's very early years, Jesus answered,
(43:54):
you know my father as little as you know me.
If you knew me, you would know my father. Also,
Jesus said these things in the treasury while he was
teaching in the temple court, but no one ventured to
arrest him because this hour had not yet come. In
other words, I e. They wanted to very much Verse
twenty one. Therefore he said again to them, I am
(44:16):
going away, and you will be looking for me, and
you will die under the curse of your sin. Where
I am going, it is not possible for you to come.
This is such an important thing he's telling them, and
they just blew past it in the heat of the
moment verse twenty two. At this the Jews began to
(44:38):
ask among themselves, will he kill himself? What an absurd conclusion.
That's internet crap. Back before there was an internet. Human nature?
Is that why he says, where I am going, it
is not possible for you to come. He said to them,
you are from below. I am from above. You are
of this world, of this earthly worl or I am
(45:01):
not of this world. That is why I told you
that you will die under the curse of your sins.
For if you do not believe that I am he
whom I claim to be, if you do not adhere
to trust in and rely on me, you will die
in your sins again powerful truth like spiritually, so impactful
(45:25):
what he's offering them right here. Then they said to him,
who are you anyway? Can you even okay? Moving on,
Jesus replied, why do I even speak to you? Tell it, Lord,
I am exactly what I've been telling you from the first.
(45:47):
I have much to say about you and to judge
and condemn. But he who sent me is true, reliable,
and I tell the world only the things that I
have heard from him. They did not perceive, no understand
that he was speaking to them about the Father, in
other words, God in heaven. So Jesus added, when you
(46:09):
have lifted up the son of Man on the cross,
you will realize, no, understand that I am he for
whom you look, and that I do nothing of myself,
of my own accordor on my own authority. But I
say exactly what my father has taught me. Now, Remember,
regardless of how many or few of them entered into
(46:31):
what Jesus said when Jesus was on the crust, remember
it with this. It was the centurion who said it
out loud. Truly, this was the son of God. Okay,
Verse twenty nine, and he who sent me is ever
with me. My father has not left me alone, for
I always do what pleases him. And he said, as
he said these things, many believed in him, trusted, relied on,
(46:53):
and adhere to him. So Jesus said to those Jews
who had believed in him, if you abided by word,
hold fast to my teachings, and live in accordance with them,
you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth,
and the truth will set you free. They answered him,
we are Abraham's offspring descendants. Sounds like liberals of our time,
(47:18):
and have not been in bondage to anybody. What do
you mean by saying you will be set free? Can
you even the sanct DEMONI okay? Verse thirty four, Jesus
answered them, I assure you most solemnly. I tell you,
whoever commits and practices sin is the slave of sin. Now,
(47:40):
a slave does not remain in a household permanently forever,
but the son of the house does remain forever. So
if the sun liberates you makes you free, men, then
you are really unquestionably free. I know that you are
Abraham's offspring, Yet you plan to kill me because my
word has no entrance, makes no progress to say, not
find any place in you. I tell the things which
(48:03):
I've seen and learned at my father's side. Your actions
also reflect what you have heard and learned from your father.
They retorted, Abraham as our father, It is about to
go down. Lol, there's thirty nine. They retorted, Abraham as
our father. This is the crap, the foolishness that comes
(48:25):
out of people's mouths, like at protests and such, where
they're regurgitating talking points, things they believe themselves to have
a claim to which they do not have understanding of.
Jesus said, if you were truly Abraham's children, then you
would do the works of Abraham, follow his example, do
as Abraham did. Nothing like a little truth right verse forty.
(48:50):
But now instead you are wanting and seeking to kill me,
a man who has told you the truth which I've
heard from God. This is not the way Abraham acted.
Why he is calling them out. You are doing the
works of your own father. They said to him, we
are not illegitimate children born out of fornication. We have
(49:10):
one father, even God. Woo Now they oh boy, can
you even claiming God to be their father?
Speaker 2 (49:20):
Now?
Speaker 1 (49:21):
Jesus said to them, if God were your father, you
would love me, respect me, welcome me gladly. For I proceeded,
came forth from God out of his very presence. I
did not even come on my own authority or of
my own accord. But He sent me as so beautiful.
And again the Lord is so consistent in his truth
(49:44):
and in his teaching. Because remember, Jesus has told us
in many ways, on many occasions what he said in
the Gospels about we know people by their fruit. Examine
the fruit. If the fruit is good, the tree is good.
If the fruit is evil, the tree is evil. Okay,
back to the Bible, verse forty three. Why do you
(50:10):
misunderstand what I say? It is because you are unable
to hear what I am saying. You cannot bear to
listen to my message. Your ears are shut to my teaching.
You are of your father, the devil, and it is
your will to practice the luss gratify the desires which
are characteristic of your father. He was a murderer from
(50:34):
the beginning and does not stand in the truth because
there is no truth in him. When he speaks of falsehood,
he speaks what is natural to him. For he is
a liar himself and the father of lies and of
all that is false. There you go, something Jesus had
(50:55):
to say about the devil right there. You know, I
just realized I forgot to go through this other conversation
from the book of Psalms. Maybe I'll get to that
in just a minute. I want to go through some
things that Jesus said about the devil. First, let's see, okay,
(51:25):
Psalm eight. We'll head back to Psalm eight in a moment. Okay,
So John ten, John ten ten, I think, yes, Okay,
So let's look at John ten. The thief comes only
(51:49):
in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came
that they may have and enjoy life and have it
in abundance to the full till it overflows. So that's
the work of the devil right there. List it out.
(52:09):
That's the fruit. That's how he acts, that's what he does.
That's how to identify when he's involved. Okay, let's keep going.
You know, it's coming to my mind to go through
the temptation of Jesus, I think. So that's in Matthew
(52:37):
chapter four. Now, in Matthew chapter three, John the Baptist
baptizes Jesus. And when Jesus was baptized and he came
out of the water, the heavens were opened. The spirit
of God descended upon him and alighted upon him. And
(53:01):
we know he had the Holy Spirit without measure. Then
and verse seventeen of Matthew chapter three says, behold, a
voice from heaven said, this is my son, my beloved,
in whom I delight, so beautiful, so important, right, such
(53:23):
supernatural validation of what he had been studying and finding
in the Word of God about himself. If you do
not know that Jesus found himself in the Bible, it's
in the book of Hebrews. Lo I come in the
volume of the book. It is written of me. I
have come to do your willow God, Matthew, chapter four.
(53:46):
Immediately the animy came to try with Jesus what he
tried with Eve. So Adam and Eve had instructions of
the Lord. They had a word of the Lord. The
enemy brought in questions to cast out on it. Listen
to what the enemy says to Jesus Matthew chapter four,
(54:12):
verse three. And the tempter came and said to him,
if you are God's son, command these stones to be
made loaves of bread. Oh, he wanted to go to him,
provoke him, and push him into something he ought not
to do in order from a raw motive, from a
(54:33):
place of unbelief woo. And he was specifically attacking the
last word from God that Jesus had received. Okay, now
I want to go to Matthew fourteen ish, So I
(55:00):
want to talk about how Jesus was living a life
consecrated to God. John the Baptist, his cousin, was living
a life consecrated to God. And so in John the Baptist,
Jesus had sort of a brother in arms or something
(55:27):
spiritually speaking, like a common I don't want to use
the word comrade, but sort of like a like a
fellowship of a sharing of similar values, a sharing of Yeah,
I think I would say that's my best way to
put it is that Jesus and John the Baptist shared values,
(55:51):
and so it created a depth of fellowship and understand
and unity that doesn't really come from anything else. And
of course I'm sure there was human affection because of
the biological ties. But moving from that, John the Baptist
(56:15):
was executed by a wicked king through circumstances. I don't
know that I'll get into and when when that happened,
the enemy was also wanting to deal a blow to Jesus,
(56:40):
And I want to talk about the sign of that.
In what Jesus said, let me get yeahfew eleven eleven,
(57:06):
Jesus is talking to his disciples. Truly, I tell you,
among those born of women, there has not risen anyone
greater than John the Baptist. Yet he who is least
in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he. So
what was Jesus up to? Why was he coming to earth?
(57:27):
He was coming to bring humans into the Kingdom of Heaven,
to bring us out of being in the first atom,
being identified there with the one who made sin Satan
his master by obeying him. If you don't know about that,
(57:48):
that's a spiritual law, I think it's from Roman six.
But moving on, he came to bring humans out of
that into being born again, born of God's Word, born
of God's Holy Spirit, new creations in him to be
(58:08):
that he would be the first born among many brethren,
and that demonstration, that example that he provided on the earth,
accompanied by his finished work, would be resulting in believers
(58:32):
under his authority, who were doing greater works than he
because he had gone to the Father. And so he
is not only affirming John the Baptist here, but he
is revealing that his accompanied by his recognition and appreciation
(58:52):
for John the Baptist, is his faith and his understanding
that he is participating in something where to that will,
where the results will be that the least person was involved,
and what he is presently working on as he is saying,
(59:13):
this is going to be greater than the one who
he has this close fellowship and understanding and shared values with,
if that makes sense. Okay, So going to Matthew fourteen,
(59:34):
that's where John the Baptist was executed, and he was horrible,
and Jesus heard about it and withdrew from there privately
in a boat to a solitary place, and the crowds
(59:54):
heard of it, and they followed him by land on
foot from the towns. So when he went ashore, so
he's coming back and he's seeing these people, he had compassion,
pity and deep sympathy for them and cured the sick.
So there's this whole miraculous manifestation of what Jesus had
(01:00:20):
meditated on he'd shared this meditation about looking at the
birds of the air, that they don't sow or reap
or gather into barnes, but our heavenly Father feeds them.
I think that was somewhere in the vicinity of Matthew
chapter six, and the fruit of that came into manifestation
(01:00:40):
when he would bless the food and it would be multiplied,
and he received food to share to others that he
did not sew, for he did not reap, he did
not gather it into barnes. He wasn't haulling it out
of some fridge or freezer somewhere, or even some cellar
underground or something. This was supernatural. It was connected to
(01:01:02):
the provision of his heavenly Father that he had spent
this time meditating on. When Jesus told us to meditate
on those things in Matthew chapter six, he would say
that because that's what he did. He was not telling
us to do something he had not done. So going
over this when the enemy tried to deal him this blow,
(01:01:27):
and he went to a private place to pray and
seek the Lord and get ministered to by God. Then
when he came back and saw these people, what he
did is he carried out ministry. This was the vengeance
(01:01:53):
against the kingdom of darkness. Teaching the people and ministering
healing and getting them del from devils, and just walking
in who he is, walking in his identity, walking in
his calling him purpose, and not backing down from that.
(01:02:17):
That was the vengeance. It wasn't to show up and
knock on the door at Herod's house to you know,
sucker punch him or something. That's foolishness. This was understanding
that his struggle was not against flesh and blood. So
I wanted to mention that because yeah, it's important to understand. Actually,
(01:02:42):
after I go to this Psalm eight, I'll get to
our struggle not being against flesh and blood from Ephesians,
and then maybe do a little discussion and then and
(01:03:03):
then probably wrap up because I've probably been going for
a while. I told you guys, this is gonna be
a slower paced one. Okay, let's look at Psalm eight.
This is Lucifer's objection in the court of Heaven to
the creation of man. He is passed this upstart. He
(01:03:24):
There is a scripture in the Bible that talks about
how he was perfect until iniquity, was found in him.
Maybe I'll look that one up too. But anyway, jealousy
and striving again, like we saw when he wanted to
be the highest and he wanted to I won't. I
(01:03:46):
won't attempt to remember a nice, sleepy brain. I would
have to look up from Isaiah fourteen. But you see
the tone here again in psalmate. Oh Lord, our Lord,
how excellent, majestic, glorious is your name, And all the
(01:04:07):
earth you have set your glory on above or above
the heavens. Out of the mouths of babes and unweaned infants.
You have established strength because of your foes, that you
might silence the enemy and the avenger. Glory to God, hallelujah.
Verse three. When I view and consider your heavens, the
work of your fingers, the moon, the stars, which you
(01:04:30):
have ordained and established. Okay, now here's the quote. This
is the enemy talking. Verse four. What is man that
you are mindful of him? And the son of man
that you care for him? Yet you have made him
but a little lower than God, and you have crowned
him with glory and honor. You've made him to have
dominion over the works of your hands. You've put all
(01:04:53):
things under his feet, all sheep and oxen. Yes, and
the beasts of the field, the birds of the air,
and the fish of the sea passes along the paths
of the seas. That's the enemy. And then verse nine
reads it up, Oh Lord, our Lord, how excellent, majestic,
and glorious is your name in all the earth. So
(01:05:14):
that verse four through eight that's quoting the enemy word
for word. That goes back to two Timothy three sixteen.
That all scripture is inspired by God, that is revelation
of the Lord in the Old Testament. Yet again, of
word for word stuff the devil has said, thinks that
(01:05:35):
he's been up to. Okay, So Ephesians chapter six, Let's
look at how our struggle is not against flesh and blood, Okay,
verse twelve. For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood,
contending only with physical opponents, but against the despotisms, against
(01:05:59):
the powers, against the master spirits, who are the world
rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of
wickedness and the heavenly supernatural sphere. Therefore, put on God's
complete armor, that you may be able to resist and
stand your ground on the evil day of danger. And
having done all the crisis demands to stand firmly in
(01:06:22):
your place. And then it goes through the armor of God,
which is important to know about. But I'm not going
to take time for right now. Maybe i will just
see if I can find that scripture about iniquity found
in the Enemy. Yeah, Ezekiel twenty eight. Okay, let's start
(01:06:55):
with verse twelve. So this is when it says the
King of Tire, this is talking about the spirit behind
the man. Don't read that and think, well, this is
just talking about some human king from long ago. No,
there's more to it than that. Verse twelve of Ezekiel
(01:07:17):
twenty eight, son of Man, take up a lamentation over
the King of Tire and say to him, Thus says
the Lord God, you are the full measure pattern of exactness,
giving the finishing touches to all that constitutes completeness, full
of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. You are in Eden,
the garden of God. Every precious stone was your covering,
(01:07:40):
the Carnelian topaz, jasper, chrysolite, beryl on, a sapphire carbuncle
and emerald, and your settings in your sockets. Engravings were
wrought in gold on the day that you were created,
they were prepared. You were the anointed chair of the covers,
with overshadowing wings and eyes set you. So you were
(01:08:00):
upon the holy Mountain of God. You walked up and
down in the midst of the stones of fire, like
the paved work of gleaming sapphire stone upon which the
God of Israel walked on Mount Sinai. You were blameless
in your ways from the day you were created until
iniquity and guilt were found in you. And I won't
(01:08:24):
go on from there verse sixteen. You can read the
whole thing if you're interested. But these are some things
that the Word of God has to say about the enemy,
and so some oh you know what I will get
into the Book of Acts. I will give Yeah, okay,
(01:08:56):
I will give one more Bible passage. Give me a
moment I went a little quicker than I should have passed,
which exact verse this is in? Okay? There it is, okay,
(01:09:25):
so Verse thirteen of Acts nineteen. Then some of the
traveling Jewish exorcists, men who adjure evil spirits, also undertook
to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those
who had evil spirits, saying I solemnly implore and charge
(01:09:48):
you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches. Right, seven sons
of a certain Jewish priest named Skiva were doing this.
Let's look at this verse fifteen and some other translations.
(01:10:08):
Acts nineteen fifteen Borean Standard. But one day the evil
spirit responded, Jesus, I know, and I know about Paul,
But who are you? New American standard. But the evil
(01:10:33):
spirit responded and said to them, I recognized Jesus, and
I know of Paul, but who are you Contemporary English.
When an evil spirit said to them, I know Jesus,
and I have heard about Paul, But who are you
(01:11:00):
weymouth Jesus I know, The evil spirit answered, and Paul
I have heard of But who are you Ah literal
Brian literal. But the evil spirit, answering, said to them, Jesus,
I know, and Paul I am acquainted with, But you
who are you? Verse sixteen. Then the man in whom
(01:11:26):
the evil spirit dwelt leapt upon them, mastering two of them,
and was so violent against them that they dashed out
of that house in fear, strict naked and wounded. So
one of the things that stood out to me about
that story is that these fallen angels talk amongst themselves,
(01:11:49):
and I began to realize that they don't just share
information about people who are effective in the Kingdom of God,
but they're also talkative or gossipy. I could say, I
think about each other, what each other's been through. Think
(01:12:10):
of small town with eternal beings, right, so a finite
number of beings that are They don't die, they don't
have lifetimes like we do. They're headed for the eternal
(01:12:32):
lake of fire. But they've been in existence for all
the time that humanity has been.
Speaker 2 (01:12:42):
And so.
Speaker 1 (01:12:45):
I thought that might lend some perspective as far as
just keeping in mind that sort of aspect of their
behavior that is brought out in scripture in this story.
So one other thing that I wanted to mention. I
(01:13:10):
heard a minister kind of speak disparagingly about the idea
that the enemy appears to people as a red horned
being with a tail, and it was not very good,
(01:13:34):
because he has appeared to people as a red horn
being with a tail, including to terrify them. He's also
appeared there's a television show Amazon featured. I did not
see it, but it was evident from the ad they
put it, they put it over your whole screen when
(01:13:55):
you pull it up when they're featuring it in their banner.
What the show is about, and it was basically about
Satan depicted as a handsome, dark haired man. Well, that's
based in real life experiences. That concept is based on
real life experiences of how he has manifested to some people.
(01:14:17):
And the Bible tells us that he wants to disguise
himself and does disguise himself to some as an angel
of light to see if he can trick them. It's
important to understand these aspects, not to obsess or go
over them and over them and over them, but to
have an accurate factual reference point. That is, you think
(01:14:42):
about being founded on the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus
himself being the chief cornerstone, the apostles and prophets. The
Word of God is what we build upon, the chief cornerstone.
The cornerstone is what everything else is measured up against.
That provides the proper structure, the proper framework, the proper alignment,
(01:15:04):
stability and solidity for all the rest of the foundation.
And so practical knowledge of reality is informative it's important,
but it's not at the level of scripture. Let's look
before I conclude, let's look at a verse that talks
(01:15:27):
about the Bible being the more sure word of prophecy.
If you don't know about this, this is a big deal. Okay,
Second Peter one nineteen. And we have the prophetic word
made firmer. Still, I want to get that in a
(01:15:49):
different translation. Second Peter one nineteen. Okay, second Peter one nineteen,
And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, no Brion, Okay.
(01:16:15):
And we have the more certain prophetic word to which
you do well, taking heed as to a lamp shining
in a dark place, until this day shall have dawned
and the morning stars shall have arisen in your hearts.
We have also a more sure word of prophecy. That's
the Bible scripture, Genesis to Revelations sixty six books, whereunto
(01:16:40):
you do well, that you take heed as unto a
light that shineth in a dark place until the day
dawn and the day star arise in your hearts. I
like those two. Those are really good. I'm going to
go down to the literal. No, I already read a literal,
so that's good. Okay, great. So I don't even I'm
(01:17:03):
not even sure how long I've been going here, but
I suspect it's longer than an hour. Let's have a look. Yep, yep,
I've been going strong. So thank you for listening. I
hope I don't remember any number of things later that
I should have included and all of that. I hope
(01:17:24):
that this is informative and gives you a lot to
consider and just process as you go through your life,
as you have your own call and giftings from the Lord,
as you have your own assignments, that this would be
beneficial and edifying to you and help that the Holy
Spirit can bring the Word of God to your remembrance.
(01:17:45):
The Bible says that the Holy Spirit brings to our
remembrance those things whatsoever Jesus has said unto us. So
those things that Jesus has spoken to you from his
word through this recording, I thank God that the Holy
Spirit brings to your remembrance at the proper time and
(01:18:05):
the proper moment to help you to have a frame
of reference and to help equip you for the things
that you're called to do. I thank God for you.
I'm so thankful that you joined me for this, and
I'll be with you again soon.
