to serving you.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Okay, so let's see here code name. Thanks for coming.
Let me just there we go, there we go. Okay,
Thank you so much, Father, Heavenly Father, thank you for
your word. I thank you for the blood of Jesus
and the blood of your everlasting covenant Lord, and I
(00:45):
pray that in the name of Jesus, Lord, the blood
of Jesus cleanses Us washes our mind's. Lord, God, that
what the blood of Jesus purchased, we receive it by
faith in Jesus' name. I thank you for the redemption
through the blood of Jesus, and I pray for increased understanding,
(01:11):
increased revelation, Father, and faith Lord in your word as
we spend time with it in Jesus' name. Amen, Praise God.
So glad to have you guys here again. Topic is
the Blood of Jesus. I want to start up by
(01:33):
mentioning that this topic is spiritual in nature, so if
you're not yet a believer in Jesus. Just concentrate on
faith for salvation. Don't try to wrap your head around
the process. Let's talk a little bit about kind of
receiving the things of the Lord with a few scriptures.
(01:55):
Because there were some people that Jesus told what he
was on the earth that unless you eat my flesh
and drink by blood, you have no part with me.
And they did not have the faintest idea about the
communion meal and did not understand what he was saying,
thought he was referring to cannibalism, were completely grossed out.
(02:19):
And other than his disciples, who also didn't understand who
who also seemed a little uncomfortable about what he was saying,
they left. The twelve disciples, as far as I recollect,
were the people who stayed with Jesus. And when Jesus
turned and asked them if they were going to leave,
two they said, what was it? The apostle Peter, I
(02:40):
believe it said where would we go? Only you have
the words of eternal life, which is powerful, powerful response
to a powerful question, and hopefully an encouragement to us,
because a lot of times people act like it's incumbent
(03:02):
upon people who know the truth to make known to
them all that they need and desire to know, or
pretend to desire to know, in order to act on
the truth themselves. But really, each person's belief system is
their own responsibility. Okay, let's look at first Corinthians two fourteen,
(03:29):
the first letter of Paul to the churchich corinth chapter two,
verse number fourteen. But the natural, non spiritual man does
not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts, teachings,
revelations of the Spirit of God, for their folly, meaningless
(03:50):
nonsense to him, and he is incapable of knowing them,
of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them,
because they are spiritually discerned, estimated, and appreciated. One Corinthians
fifteen fifty. For I assure you, my brothers, it is
(04:12):
utterly impossible for flesh and blood to possess the Kingdom
of God. The transitory could never possess the everlasting John
three three. This is the Gospel of John chapter three,
verse three. Jesus answered him, speaking Nicodemus, I assure you
(04:36):
most solemnly. I tell you that unless the person is
born again, he cannot ever see, no be acquainted with,
and experience the Kingdom of God. So these are important
things to understand when dealing with spiritual truths. The intellect
(04:56):
can be so bostful, erroneously boastful, and arrogant that I mean,
I guess, think about where the fall of man, where
the corruption of mankind came from, right, came from obeying
the serpent in the Garden of Eden and partaking of
(05:18):
the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, of
the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And
so often people have a completely false perception that they
will be able to grasp what is holy, what is true,
(05:38):
what is eternal with their human intellect, despite even some
level of awareness of the events in the Garden of Eden. Okay,
let's go on. The communion elements are symbolic of the
body and blood of Jesus. When people who didn't believe
in Jesus as the Messiah heard what Jesus had to
(06:01):
say about eating his flesh and drinking his blood, they
were grossed out because they didn't comprehend the symbolism. So
let's give some examples of this from the Bible. I
would encourage you start with believing the message about what
the blood of Jesus purchased for you. Approach this topic
from reverence rather than intellect, in order to experience its power. Matthew,
(06:28):
chapter twenty six. So the Gospels are Matthew, Mark, Luke,
and John. Will go through passages from three of those.
This one's from Matthew chapter twenty six, Verses twenty six
through twenty nine. In the middle of the meal, Jesus
took a loaf, and after blessing it, he broke it
into pieces and gave it to the disciples. Take and
(06:51):
eat this, he said, it is my body. Then he
took a cup. After thanking God, he gave it to
them with the words, drink this all of you, for
it is my blood, the blood of the New Agreement,
shed to set many free from their sins. I tell
you I will drink wine, no more wine until I
(07:12):
drink it fresh with you in my father's kingdom. There's
so much I could say about that, but for time's sake,
I'm going to keep going. Mark chapter fourteen, Versus twenty
three through twenty five. I will mention, though, where Jesus
talks about the New Agreement, this is a new Covenant.
If you don't know about covenant, it's an important topic.
(07:35):
Perhaps at some point I will share a study on that,
but for right now, understand that covenant is a binding agreement,
and it's a big part of understanding scripture is understanding
(07:57):
covenant and understand the parties in covenants. And that's what
I'm going to say about that for now. This is
the New Agreement. The New Covenant is in the blood
of Jesus. Glory to God for that March Chapter fourteen,
verses twenty three through twenty five. Then he took a cup,
(08:19):
and after thanking God, he gave it to them, and
they drank from it. And he said to them, this
is my blood which is shed for many in the
New Agreement. So, in other words, this is about the
benefits to people through the blood of Jesus. This is
(08:44):
not about an empty religious exercise. Right, this is my
blood which is shed for many in the New Agreement
or the New Covenant. I tell you, truly, I will
drink no more wine until the days when I drink
it fresh in the Kingdom of God. So the New Covenant,
(09:05):
the New Agreement, as the JV. Phillips here calls it,
the new covenant is in the blood of Jesus. And
remember it. Remember in the previous gospel he said, drink
this all of you. Right, it's a big deal to
partake of the blood of Jesus. Okay, let me keep going.
(09:26):
There's so much here. Okay. Then Gospel of John chapter five,
verses fifty three through fifty eight. Again, I'm looking at
the JV. Phillips translation right now. So Jesus said to them,
unless you do eat the body of the Son of Man.
(09:49):
And he's referring to himself in the third person, which
might sound a little weird, but he's talking about himself.
When he says, the son of Man and drink his blood,
you are not really living at all. The man who
eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life,
and I will raise him up when the last day comes.
(10:13):
That's a lot to think about, hum The man who
eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life,
and I will raise him up when the last day comes.
For my body is real food and my blood is
real drink. The man who eats my body and drinks
(10:35):
my blood shares my life, and I share his, just
as the father sent me, and I am alive because
of the Father. So the man who lives on me
will live because of me. This is the bread which
came down from heaven. It is not like the man
(10:56):
of which your forefathers used to eat and died. The
man who eats this bread will live forever. Okay, Again,
be careful about trying to use too much intellect in
regard to this. Be careful about receiving by faith the message.
Letting the message the truths of God awaken and build
(11:20):
faith inside of you to receive what God has promised.
And it's not about taking our sort of earthly worldly experiences,
using them as a reference point and thereby comprehending or
understanding or receiving the fullness of these spiritual truths. So
(11:42):
hopefully that's helpful to you. Again, basic points from the
Gospel is that the New Covenant is in the blood
of Jesus. All of us are supposed to be drinking
of it. The flesh of Jesus, the body of Jesus
that was broken, is represented by the bread, and the
blood of Jesus is represented by the cup of You
(12:07):
know that symbolizes the wine. I use grape juice or
water or whatever. But you know, this symbolism is intended
to be significant. It's not intended to be a meaningless ritual.
In fact, it's intended to be so so significant, so
(12:28):
impactful on us and for us, that Jesus was able
to say, give me a moment. I went over it
a couple of times. The man who eats my body
and drinks my blood shares my life, and I share his.
So the communion is not supposed to be empty. Let's
say you went to a church or some type of
(12:49):
meeting or some type of experience where you were just
kind of following along what other people did. You just
kind of participated in a very nominal way, walked away
and didn't really feel like there was much to that
you didn't even maybe understand too much beyond this is
(13:09):
supposed to symbolize what Jesus is reported to have done
on the cross or something to that effect. Well, that
is not what the communion experience was designed by God
to be in your life. And so I would just
encourage you let the things that the Word of God
(13:29):
says build your faith and treasure spiritual truths, treasure nuggets
of wisdom in your heart, so that you have them
to work with. You have them to develop across the
years of your life, and take time to read about it,
take time to learn, and hopefully this particular study will
(13:55):
be a good start for you. Let's keep going. The
blood of Jesus. People to belong to God, so Acts
twenty twenty eight. So guard yourselves and God's people, feed
and shepherd God's flock, his church. Purchase with his own blood,
(14:15):
over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as leaders,
So the people to belong to God, the way that
they were purchased, the way they were acquired, obtained, et cetera.
They're purchased. We are purchased with Jesus's own blood. So
this is important to understand, really really fundamental to understand
(14:40):
the There's so much I could say. One thing is
the gravity that the gravity of the situation, the gravity
of the circumstances in which we find ourselves. This required
the blood of Jesus and the giving of his life.
(15:01):
And the reason that we know he has the power
to save is because he is raised from the dead.
The resurrection of Jesus from the dead means that the
blood that he shed to purchase the new covenant for
us access to God, reconciliation, many things we'll talk about
later in this recording, plus more. These were purchased and
(15:27):
obtained by the blood of Jesus. And is the resurrection
of Jesus from the dead that demonstrates that he is
authorized and able to deliver on the promises of God. Okay,
let's keep going. The blood of Jesus provides cleansing, reconciliation.
(15:50):
Let me let me, let me say it received through faith. Okay.
The blood of Jesus provides cleansing and reconciliation received through faith.
So you get the cleansing, you receive that by faith.
You get the reconciliation to God. You receive that by faith.
You even get being accepted in the Beloved as a believer.
(16:13):
By faith. It's afforded by the blood of Jesus. The
blood of Jesus also gives life. The life is in
the blood in nature, and true lasting life is in
Jesus's blood. So let's get to a passage because it's
even better in the actual words of the Bible. Romans,
chapter three, verses twenty four through twenty six. So this
(16:34):
is Paul's letter to the Church at Rome. Chapter three,
few verses Verses twenty four through twenty six. All are justified,
made upright, and in right standing with God, freely gratuitously
by His grace, his unmerited favor in mercy through the
(16:56):
redemption which is provided in Christ Jesus, whom God put
forward before the eyes of all as a mercy seat
and a propitiation by his blood, the cleansing and life
giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation to be received through faith.
(17:19):
This was to show God's righteousness because in his divine
forbearance he had passed over and ignored former sins without punishment.
How was that possible because without the shedding of blood,
there's no remission of sins. So how was that possible?
Because before the foundation of the world, the lamb was slain.
So don't think that your experience of time is the
(17:42):
only experience of time to be had. Let's get back
to the passage. It was to demonstrate and prove at
the present time, in the now season, that He himself
is righteous, and that he justifies and accepts as righteous
him who has true faith in Jesus. Wow, well, I
(18:03):
would comment about true faith in Jesus. I'm taking that
to mean faith as it's defined in the Bible. And
one of the things that the Bible says about faith
is that faith without works is dead being alone. Okay,
let's read this passage again, just for additional washing of
the word and renewing in the Lord. All are justified,
(18:27):
made upright in right standing with God, freely gratuitously by
his grace, his unmerited favor and mercy through the redemption
which is provided in Christ, Jesus, whom God put forward
before the eyes of all as a mercy seat and
a propitiation by his blood, the cleansing, life giving sacrifice
(18:50):
of atonement and reconciliation to be received through faith. This
was to show God's righteousness because in his divine forbearance
he is passed over and ignored former sins without punishment.
It was to demonstrate and prove at the present time,
in the now season, that He himself is righteous and
that he justifies and accepts as righteous him who has
(19:14):
faith in Jesus. Okay, so I want to mention this
mercy seat. Jesus is the mercy seed. Do not try
no foolishness and crap of self righteousness, self justification and
the absolute garbage that you've seen practiced in religion. Just
don't do that. Don't play with that. Jesus is the
(19:38):
mercy seat and he's the place where we meet God
the Father, so super important. Jesus is the way, the truth,
and the life. No one comes to the Father but
by him. Okay, let's look at Yeah, I think to
(20:00):
go to actually another passage. I just want to mention
when it says that the blood of Jesus brings justification.
You can think of that a little sort of cute
saying that I learned from one of my instructors is
think of justification as just as if I'd never sinned.
So maybe that's a little bit helpful because it's not
(20:20):
a modern term. Okay. The blood of Jesus also brings acquittal, righteousness, salvation,
and reconciliation. The blood of Jesus brings rejoicing and glorying
in God's love and perfection through our Lord Jesus Christ.
So keep in mind the conditions. The Bible keeps telling
(20:41):
you and me that we have to be reconciled to
God the Father through Jesus. We have to have faith
in Jesus, we have to accept Jesus's role and trying
to do this without believing on Jesus, trying to do
this without putting him in charge. These are efforts that
will not actually obtain and receive what God has for us.
(21:05):
So let's get to a later chapter in Paul's letter
to Rome that talks specifically about Jesus being our lord
Romans chapter five, verses nine through eleven. Therefore, since we
are now justified, acquitted, made righteous, brought into right relationship
(21:25):
with God by Christ's blood, how much more certain is
it that we shall be saved by Him from the
indignation and wrath of God. For if while we were
enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of
His son, it is much more certain now that we
(21:46):
are reconciled that we shall be saved daily delivered from
Sin's dominion through His resurrection life. Not only so, but
we also rejoice and exaltingly glory in God in His
love and perfection, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom
(22:08):
we now have received and enjoy our reconciliation. This is
super clear. We should not even try it with any
type of supposition of reconciliation or justification or forgiveness, or
even meeting with God apart from Jesus. Okay, let's keep
(22:33):
going for time's sake. There's so much here to receive,
so much to meditate on, So let's keep going. The
blood of Jesus brings us redemption, freedom, forgiveness, full and
generous grace overflow in our lives, and eyes that are opened.
(22:54):
I'm reminded of a verse the code name often speaks of,
which is my cup runneth over? And yeah, there's so
much to be said about that too. But let's go
to the next passage, Ephesians, chapter one, Versus seven through tens.
This is Paul's letter to the Church at Ephesus in
(23:15):
the first chapter a few verses verses seven through ten.
It is through the Sun, at the cost of his
own blood, that we are redeemed freely forgiven through that
full and generous grace which has overflowed in our lives
and opened our eyes to the truth. For God has
(23:38):
allowed us to know the secret of his plan. And
it is this he purposes in his sovereign will, that
all human history shall be consummated in Christ, that everything
that exists in heaven or earth shall find its perfection
and fulfillment in Him. You know, one of the things
(24:01):
that's very important to understand about both the past and
the future is this overarching truth that God purposes in
his sovereign will, that all human history shall be consummated
in Christ, that everything that exists in heaven or earth
shall find its perfection and fulfillment in Him. These suppositions
(24:24):
that you know, I don't know exactly how determin it,
but sort of trying to give equal weight to all
philosophies centering deity upon self. This is extremely dangerous and unproductive. Okay,
the blood of Jesus brings us near to God. Don't
(24:46):
try to meet him on some other basis. Ephesians, chapter two,
verse thirteen. But now in Christ Jesus, you who are
once so far away, through the blood of Christ, have
been brought near. That's what it takes. When you're so
far away, by the blood of Christ, you are brought near.
(25:11):
That's the way. That's the way, the blood of Jesus.
Of course, church participation, tithing, prayer, many things are a
natural result of faith, a natural result of making Jesus Lord.
(25:33):
But it's certainly second to the initial step of believing
on the Lord Jesus and receiving, receiving, receiving, receiving. It's
so important to really accept the word of God as
(25:54):
the truth. Okay, let us go to Hebrews chapter nine.
Got a few more verses, but I want to read
some in Hebrews for a bit because there's so much there.
So basically think of how because the Bible talks in
(26:15):
any number of places, a lot of places about how
salvation is first to the Jews and then to those
who are not previously in covenant with God. And the
Jews were God's original recruits to evangelize humanity. And regardless
of what type of a job you think they've done
with that, the Lord will deal with them in his
(26:36):
own time and way. And they're certainly in process of
being reconciled to the Lord more and more every day
through Jesus, their Messiah. And that's I mean, we're honored
and blessed if we can be part of that, but
that's really between them and the Lord, and we can
rejoice with them, but we're not in no way are
we above them. The Bible specifically states in the Book
(26:59):
of Romans that our attitude toward Jewish people should be humble.
As Christians, we should be humble and reverend towards the Lord.
So keeping that in mind the original things of God,
(27:19):
that the things of God were originally entrusted to the
Jewish people. So therefore there's a wealth of knowledge and understanding,
a wealth of history that's available to those of us
who were not previously in covenant with God. And I
considered the attitudes of reverence and humility to be the
(27:40):
most beneficial, the most ideal in receiving the maximum benefits
personally of that wealth and treasure as opposed to really
anything else. So okay, let's get back to the word.
So let's look at Hebrews chapter nine. So there are
(28:01):
people that say that they believe Hebrews was authored by Paul.
I've also heard that it was authored by Apollos, which
personally that kind of made sense to me. But regardless,
all scripture is God breathed, inspired by God. Is another translation,
(28:21):
it's Second Timothy three sixteen. If you're not familiar that
all the Bible is divinely powerful, that's in tewod Corinthians
ten three. I believe. So it's important to understand that
there are promises that are attached to scripture, but the
more that you can understand about the intended audience. I'm
(28:46):
not sure if I want to take time to talk
about this right now or not. There's certainly things in
the Bible that people have taken at face value without
really considering the context and really ran away with it
and directions that it's just unrealistic that is intended by
(29:07):
the Lord or by the person that he was writing through,
speaking through, and it doesn't line up with the rest
of the Bible and things like that. I don't think
I'll take time for it right now. But anyway, I'm
bringing up who the letter was written to and the
(29:27):
reality the historical fact that it was written by a
leader in the church, a leader amongst believers in Jesus,
because these things are important to keep as a frame
of reference. And you'll see as I start reading the
Book of Hebrews, there's a lot of historical references, a
(29:49):
lot of that wealth of knowledge and understanding that is
sprinkled through this book. There's so much more to learn.
It's absolutely wonderful that heritage that the Jewish people have
in the Lord. However, for time's sake, going to get
started Hebrews chapter nine. Now, even the First Covenant has
(30:12):
had its own rules and regulations for divine worship, and
it had a sanctuary, but one of this world, meaning
physical right. The ten part curtain with the giant rings
that separated the Holy of Holies from the rest of
the inner place verse two. For a tabernacle tent was
(30:33):
erected in the outer division or compartment, of which were
the lampstand and the table with its loaves of the
showbread set forth. This portion is called the Holy Place.
But inside, beyond the second curtain or veil, there stood
another tabernacle division, known as the Holy of Holies. It
(30:54):
had the golden ultar of incense and the arc of
the Covenant covered over with gold. Now in the arc
of the Covenant, if you don't know is well, it
goes into it. But that's where the Word of God,
the slabs of the Covenant with the ten Commandments were
kept there. Okay, verse four. It had the golden altar
of incense and the arc chest of the Covenant covered
(31:17):
over with rock gold. This arc contained a golden jar
which held the mana and the rod of Aaron that sprouted,
and the two stone slabs of the Covenant bearing the
Ten Commandments. There's no way I have time to go
into all the meaning of those things. But they are
precious and weighty with truth and rich wisdom, and so
(31:39):
you're gonna have to look into stuff if you want
to know more about those Verse five. Above the ark
and overshadowing the mercy seat, Remember Jesus is now the
mercy seat. Above the ark and overshadowing the mercy seat
were the representations of the cherubin winged creatures, which were
symbols of glory. We cannot now go in to detail
(32:00):
about these things. So the author had the same thing
in mind that I do. Right now, let's keep it going.
Verse six. These arrangements having thus been made, the priests
enter habitually into the outer division of the tabernacle in
performance of their ritual acts of worship. But into the
(32:22):
second division of the tabernacle, none but the High Priest goes,
and he only once a year, and never without taking
a sacrifice of blood with him, which he offers for himself,
and for the errors and sins of ignorance and thoughtlessness
which the people have committed. This isn't even talking about
(32:42):
rebellion right now, this is talking about just ya didn't
know or you weren't thinking. Hoo. Okay, sorry, this is
my Texan coming out, okay. Verse eight. By this, the
Holy Spirit points out that the way into the true
Holy of Holies is not yet thrown open as long
as the former the outer portion of the Tabernacle remains
(33:06):
a recognized institution and is still standing. So if you
recall when Jesus gave up his spirit on the cross,
the veil of the temple was torn in two from
top to bottom, impossible for any human to do. The
ten thick heavy curtains. The details of them are in
(33:27):
the Old Testament. I'm going to keep going here verse nine,
seeing that the first outer portion of the Tabernacle was
a parable, a visual symbol or type or picture of
the present age. In it, gifts and sacrifices are offered,
and yet are incapable of perfecting the conscience or of
(33:48):
cleansing and renewing the inner man of the worshiper. For
the ceremonies deal only with the clean and unclean meats
and drinks and different washings, mere external rules and regulations
for the body imposed to tide the worshippers over until
the time of setting things straight, of reformation, of the
(34:11):
complete new order, when Christ the Messiah shall establish the
reality of what these things foreshadow, the Better Covenant, remember
the New Agreement, as it was termed in JB. Phillips
translation of the New Testament, verse eleven. But that appointed
time came when Christ the Messiah appeared as a high
(34:32):
priest of the better things that have come and are
to come. Then through the greater and more perfect tabernacle,
not made with human hands, that is not a part
of this material creation, he went once for all. So
not once a year. Jesus went once for all into
(34:54):
the Holy of Holies of Heaven. So not the physical
tabernacle on the earth. The veil was rent, you know,
top to bottom. And that was it, because it was now,
like it said here earlier in it was not any
longer still standing as a recognized remaining, not still remaining
(35:15):
anymore as a recognized institution. Okay, He went once for
all into the Holy of Holies of Heaven, not by
virtue of the blood of goats and calves, by which
to make reconciliation between God and man, but his own blood,
having found and secured a complete redemption an everlasting release
(35:38):
for us. For if the mere sprinkling of unholy defiled
persons with blood of goats and bulls, and with the
ashes of a bird heifer is sufficient for the purification
of the body, how much more surely shall the blood
of Christ, who threw the eternal Spirit offered himself as
(35:58):
an unblemish sacrifice to God, purify our consciences from dead
works so we can serve the Living God. That is
a holy holy statement. I am not satisfied until I
give you that in some more translations we are gonna
do Hebrews nine fourteen. Hebrews nine fourteen. Okay, here we go,
(36:25):
let's just start reading. I apologize. I don't think I'm
going to give you what translations. If you go to
Bible Hub type in Hebrews nine fourteen, you can pull
them for yourself. How much more then will the blood
of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit, offered himself unblemish
to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to
death so that we may serve the Living God. Just
(36:47):
think how much more the blood of Christ will purify
our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship
the Living God, For by the power of the eternal Spirit,
Christ offered himself to God is a perfect sacrifice for
our sins. Mmmmm, how much more will the blood of Christ,
who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemish to God,
(37:11):
purify our conscience from dead works in order to serve
the Living God. How much more shall the blood of Christ,
who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God,
cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the Living God.
You know, it's been a long time since there was
(37:33):
teaching in at least in the United States about the
spiritual truths of the Lord concerning spots and concerning sins
being as scarlet and things like that. So we don't
we have a lesser understanding of these terms than we
would with greater knowledge of the things of the Lord.
(37:57):
But anyway, I won't I won't take a bunch of
time with that. I just want to focus on Hebrews
nine fourteen for a little bit here. So let's look
at how much more will the Blood of Christ, who
through the eternal Holy Spirit willingly offered himself unblemish, that is,
without moral or spiritual imperfection as a sacrifice to God,
(38:21):
cleanse your conscience from dead works and lifeless observances to
serve the ever living God. Praise the Lord. But Christ
was sinless, and he offered himself as an eternal and
spiritual sacrifice to God. This is why his blood is
much more powerful and makes our consciences clear. Now we
(38:44):
can serve the living God and no longer do things
that lead to death. Okay, there's a lot of similarities
in some of these subsequent ones. Okay, maybe I'll do
one or two more. Here's Weymouth, They're really good. How
(39:04):
much more certainly shall the blood of Christ, who strengthened
by the eternal Spirit, offered himself to God free from blemish,
purify your consciences from lifeless works for you to serve
the ever living God. Okay, maybe one more. How much
(39:27):
more shall the blood of Christ, who through the age
during spirit did offer himself unblemish to God, purify your
conscience from dead works to serve the living God. So
praise the Lord, Thank God for it. Let's keep going.
M Christ the Messiah is therefore the negotiator and mediator
(39:51):
of an entirely new agreement testament covenant, so that those
who are called and offered, it may receive the fulfillment
of the promise everlasting inheritance, since a death has taken place,
which rescues, delivers redeems them from the transgressions committed under
the Old First Agreement. For where there is a last
(40:13):
will and testament involved the death of the one who
made it must be established, for a will and testament
is valid and takes effect only at death, since it
has no force or legal power as long as the
one who made it is alive. This is Hebrews nine.
So I'm on verse eighteen. So even the Old First Covenant,
(40:37):
God's will was not inaugurated, ratified, put in force without
the shedding of blood. For when every command of the
Law has been read out by Moses to all the people,
he took the blood of slain calves and goats, together
with water, scarlet wool, and a bunch of hissop and
sprinkle both the book, the role of the Law, and
(40:57):
the covenant itself, and all the people saying these words.
This is the blood that seals ratifies the agreement, the testament,
the covenant which God commanded me to deliver to you. Okay,
you know what I'm going to read one more verse,
and in the same way he sprinkled with the blood
both the tabernacle and all the sacred vessels and appliances
(41:20):
used in divine worship. So, okay, this is not written
to gross you out, to give you a picture of
a blood soaked scene that you recoil from because you're
you're thinking of death in the context of murder and
violent and violence and hatred and fear. This is designed
(41:45):
to be. This is intended to be taken in the
context of an illustration of across thousands of years of
how to obtain remission, forgiveness of sins, how to obtain
the absolution the propitiation of sins that the picture was
(42:08):
in the Old Testament of these things just described this
not soaking, but sprinkling of everything involved with the blood
of these slain animals. This was the entire purpose of
it is to point to Jesus. Because the reason why
(42:29):
I say that is because the Bible says before the
foundation of the world, the Lamb, meaning Jesus, was slain.
If not, I mean we understand that, yes, God was
securing the arrangements he made the Covenant, the spiritual laws
he put in place meant that when they did this,
they could receive that forgiveness for one year, et cetera
(42:52):
by what was being done, and that was God wanted
them to be forgiven so he could continue to bless
them and move in their lives. But the real purpose
was the deeper purpose, was to point to Jesus and
to give us a picture of the covering of the
blood that we read and should receive of the blood
(43:15):
of Jesus what he did. Again, this is a clumsy delivery,
because these are great and magnificent and glorious and eternal truths.
And it's of greater benefit to simply allow the word
of God to build one's faith to receive the promises
to accept the truths of God by faith, than it
(43:38):
is to try to analyze and use the intellect for this.
So let me keep going with the Bible, okay, verse
twenty two. In fact, under the law, almost everything is
purified by means of blood, and without the shedding of blood,
there is neither release from sin and its guilt, nor
(43:58):
the remission of the due and merited punishment for sins.
Let's read that again, Hebrews nine twenty two. In fact,
under the law, almost everything is purified by means of blood,
and without the shedding of blood, there is neither release
from sin and its guilt, nor the remission of the
doe and merited punishment for sins. This is not intended
(44:22):
to be bad news, because we're all supposed to receive
Jesus as our savior, our Messiah, the Christ, the son
of the Living God. We're supposed to receive him as
Lord and savior. We're supposed to receive the release from
sin and its guilt. We're supposed to receive the remission
(44:43):
of the due merited punishment for sins. Okay, moving on
by such means. Therefore, it was necessary for the earthly
copies of the heavenly things to be purified, but the
actual heavenly things themselves required far better nobler sacri vices
than these. So, in other words, the gold utensils on
(45:07):
earth and the tabernacle in the Middle Eastern Desert that
was one thing, but the heavenly that is. Okay. Therefore,
it was necessary for the earthly copies of the heavenly
things to be purified, but the actual heavenly things themselves
required far better nobler sacrifices than these. The blood of
(45:30):
Jesus went up to heaven to speak of better things
concerning us before the Lord. I'm not going to get
into all the scripture about that. I'm just going to
keep going in Hebrews nine, for Christ the Messiah, has
not entered into a sanctuary made with human hands, only
a copy patterned type of the true one. But he
has entered into Heaven itself now to appear in the
(45:53):
very presence of God on our behalf. Nor did he
enter into the heavenly sanctuary to offer him himself regularly
again and again, as the high priest enters the Holy
of Holies every year, with blood not his own. Remember
the description of the earthly tabernacle and process that the
Jews practiced Verse twenty six. For then he would often
(46:15):
have had to suffer over and over again since the
foundation of the world. But as it now is, he has,
once for all, at the consummation and close of the ages,
appeared to put away an abolish sin by his sacrifice
of himself. And just as it is appointed for all
men once to die, and after that the certain judgment.
(46:36):
Even so it is that Christ, having been offered to
take upon himself and bear as a burden the sins
of many once and once for all, will appear a
second time, not to carry any burden of sin, nor
to deal with sin, but to bring to full salvation
those who are eagerly, constantly, patiently waiting for and expecting him. Really,
(46:59):
this verse is a much bigger deal than I'm going
to take the time for today. But I would just
encourage to notice these truths. This is very important that
Jesus will appear a second time, and all the sin
that humanity hasn't addressed, has tried to brush under the carpet,
(47:22):
shove down, stuff down inside, ignore, overlook, distract themselves from.
When he comes the second time, he's not coming to
deal with that like he did the first time. You know,
there's a verse, I think it's in the Book of Acts,
a very special verse. It talks about Jesus, how God was,
(47:45):
how he was anointed, and how God was with him,
and how we went around doing good and healing all
who are oppressed of the devil. Right, the ministry of
Jesus on earth. That's not going to be repeated when
he comes again. Either people act done what He's already done,
or they don't. So where it says to bring to
(48:05):
full salvation those who are eagerly, constantly, patiently waiting for
and expecting him. That's a big deal. It's a very
important to be part of the group that is eagerly,
constantly and patiently waiting for and expecting him. And yeah,
I just encourage you. Romans Chapter ten, verses nine and
ten say that if you believe in your heart God
(48:26):
raised Jesus from the dead, and confess with your mouth
Jesus's Lord, you will be saved. Look those verses up.
It's important to take action on the things that Jesus
has already done, and certainly eagerly, constantly, patiently that it
brings out. In the amplified Classic translation, all of these
will be relevant to those of us who are waiting
(48:48):
for Jesus a second coming. Okay, Hebrews Chapter ten, for
since the law has merely a rude outline for okay,
So for those of you who are used to modern English,
rude is not it's not how do I want to say,
It's not like bad manners, it's rude here. The context
(49:12):
of the word rude here is like a crude drawing,
like a like a very sketchy, like a like a
sketch that's very loosely drawn. Okay, hopefully that's helpful. For
since the law has merely a rude outline foreshadowing of
the good things to come, instead of fully expressing those things,
(49:32):
it can never by offering the same sacrifices continually, year
after year, make perfect those who approach its altars. And
we see that. Right. We love the Jewish people, but
the things that they've done year after year have not
perfected them Verse two. For if it were otherwise, would
these sacrifices not have stopped being offered Since the worshippers
(49:56):
had once for all been cleansed, they would no longer
have any guilt or consciousness of sin. But as it is,
these sacrifices annually bring a fresh remembrance of sins to
be atoned for, because the blood of bulls and goats
is powerless to take sins away. Remember it covered the
blood of the animals, covered the sins. But Jesus cleanses
(50:21):
praise God, okay, washes us whiter than snow verse five. Hence,
when he Christ entered into the world, he said, sacrifices
and burnt offerings you have not desired, but instead you
have made ready a body for me to offer in
burnt offerings and sin offerings, you have taken no delight.
Then I said, behold here I come, coming to do
(50:44):
your willow God, to fulfill what is written of me
in the volume of the book. So we see, Jesus
found himself in the Scriptures verse eight. When he had
said just before, you have neither desired nor have you
taken delight in sacrifices and burnt offerings, and burnt offerings
and sin offerings, all of which are offered according to
(51:04):
the law. He then went on to say, oh, I
see sacrifices, offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings. Okay. He
then went on to say, behold here, I am coming
to do your will. Thus he does away with and
annulls the first former Order as a means of expiating sin,
so he might inaugurate and establish the Second Order, in
(51:27):
other words, the First Covenant for the New Covenant verse ten.
And in accordance with this will of God, we have
been made wholly consecrated and sanctified through the offering made
once for all of the blood of Jesus. Excuse me
of the body of Jesus Christ the Anointed One. Let
(51:49):
me read that again. It's an important statement, and in
accordance with this will of God, we have been made
wholly consecrated and sanctified through the offering made once for
all of the body of Jesus Christ the Anointed One. Furthermore,
every human priest stands at his altar of service, ministering daily,
offering the same sacrifices over and over again, which are
never able to strip from every side of us the
(52:14):
sins that envelop us and take them away. Whereas this
one Christ, after he had offered a single sacrifice for
our sins that shall avail for all time, sat down
at the right hand of God, then to wait until
his enemy should be made a footstool beneath his feet,
For by a single offering he has forever completely cleansed,
(52:37):
perfected those who are consecrated and made holy. And also
the Okay, let me talk about that for a second,
because sometimes people think in kind of juvenile terms and
they don't understand process. Maybe a lot of things were
handed to them, maybe they're used to takeout or microwave
(53:02):
or just different things kind of go into people's mentalities
sometimes where it talks about a single offering forever completely
cleansing and perfecting those of us who are consecrated and
made holy. This is still talking about a process. It
just means that every instance of cleansing we obtain, every
(53:23):
development of every maturing, every development of that perfecting and
maturing process, it all traces back to that single offering.
Every level of consecration. So the consecration that I did,
say at twenty or at twenty five, it reference back
to that single offering, same as the consecration I do
(53:44):
today or tomorrow or in ten years. Every advancement into
the holiness of God, every development of that through my life,
it all traces back to the single offering. We need
to just be more cognizant. I think think that the
experience that we have of time is not the only relevant.
(54:07):
It's not the only way that time is affecting our lives,
okay Verse fifteen. And also the Holy Spirit adds his
testimony to us in confirmation of this, for having said,
this is the agreement, testament, covenant that I will set
up and conclude with them after those days, says the Lord,
I will imprint my laws upon their hearts, and I
(54:29):
will inscribe them on their minds, on their inmost thoughts
and understanding. He then goes on to say, and their
sins and their lawbreaking, I will remember no more. Okay,
just in case it needs to be said, if anybody
is hearing these things or reading these things, and you
come into contact with them, or maybe you yourself, are
(54:51):
coming to the conclusion that this means I get to
sin more. You do not understand what is being discussed. Yet,
you don't even understand it. So if you hear anybody
talking like that, they don't even understand. They don't even
understand this stuff yet. They're just speaking out of whatever.
But they don't they're not talking about this. Okay, let's
(55:14):
keep going verse eighteen. Now, where there is absolute remission
forgiveness and the cancelation of the penalty of these sins
and law breaking, there is no longer any offering made
to atone for sin. Say lah, huh say lah say lah. Therefore, Brethren,
since we have full freedom and confidence to enter into
(55:37):
the Holy of Holies by the power and virtue in
the blood of Jesus, by this fresh new living way
which He initiated, dedicated and opened for us through the
separating veil of the Holy of holies, that is, through
His flesh. And since we have such a great, wonderful,
noble priest who rules over the House of God, let
us come forward and draw near with true, honest, sincere
(56:01):
hearts and unqualified assurance, absolute conviction engendered by faith, by
that leaning of the whole entire human personality on God,
and absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom and goodness.
Having our hearts sprinkle purified from a guilty evil conscience,
(56:23):
and our bodies cleansed with pure water, let us seize,
hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish,
confess our acknowledgment of it, for he who promised is
reliable and faithful to his word. Let us consider give attentive,
continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we
(56:46):
may stir up, stimulate in site to love, helpful deeds,
noble activities, not forsaking, neglecting to assemble together as believers,
as is the habit of some people, but admonishing, warning,
urging and courage one another, and all the more faithfully
as you see the day approaching. For if we go
on deliberately willingly sinning after once acquiring the knowledge of
(57:09):
the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice left to
atone for our sins, no further offering to which to
look forward. This is being very clear for people who think, well,
I'm just going to try this. This is not for trying,
This is for doing. This is for living. Any person
who is violated and thus rejected, Oh, excuse me, I
(57:32):
apologize I left off at verse twenty seven. There is
nothing left for us then, but a kind of awful,
fearful prospect, expectation of divine judgment and the fury of burning,
wrath and indignation which will consume those who put themselves
in opposition to God. Hopefully that sentence gives you some
help about the various coping mechanisms some people are using.
(57:58):
Any person who is violating and thus rejected and said
it not the Law of Moses is put to death
without pity or mercy, on the evidence of two or
three witnesses. How much worse, sterner heavier punishment do you
suppose he will be judged to deserve? Who has spurned
and thus trampled underfoot the son of God who has
considered the covenant blood by which he was consecrated common unhallowed,
(58:22):
thus profaning, insulting, outraging the Holy Spirit, who imparts grace,
the unmerited favor and blessing of God. For we know
him who said, vengeance is mine. Retribution and the meeting
out of full justice rest with me. I will repay,
I will exact the compensation, says the Lord. And again
the Lord will judge, determined, solve, settle the cause in
(58:45):
the cases of his people. I think I'm going to
keep going for a little bit. I apologize if this
is long for you, but hopefully you can pause and
come back to it if it's that much of an
issue Verse thirty one. It is a fearful, formidable, terrible
thing to incur the divine penalties and be cast into
the hands of the living God. Be but be ever
(59:06):
mindful of the days gone by, in which, after you
were first spiritually enlightened, you endured a great painful struggle,
sometimes being yourselves a gazing stock, publicly exposed to insults, abuse, distress,
sometimes claiming fellowship making common cause with others who were
so treated. For you did sympathize suffer along with those
who were imprisoned, and you bore cheerfully the plundering of
(59:28):
your belongings, the confiscation of your property, and the knowledge
consciousness that you yourselves had a better lasting possession. Do
not therefore fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries
great glorious compensation of reward. For you have need of
steadfast patience endurance, so you may perform fully accomplish the
(59:48):
will of God. Thus receive, carry away, and enjoy to
the full what is promised. For still a little while,
a very little while, and the coming one will come,
and he will not delay. For the just shall live
by faith. My righteous servant shall live by his conviction,
respecting man's relationship to God and divine things and holy
(01:00:09):
fervor born of faith, and conjoin with it. And if
he draws back and shrinks and fear, my soul is
no delight or pleasure in him. But our way is
not of those who draw back to eternal misery and
are utterly destroyed. But we are of those who believe,
who cleave to trust and rely on God through Jesus
Christ the Messiah, and by faith preserve the soul. So
(01:00:33):
hopefully those were a tremendous blessing to you and tremendously
uplifting to you and really helpful in understanding more and
more of the framework I wanted to talk about. I
(01:00:54):
wanted to talk about the period of time in the
United States in which there was a lot of sort
of doom and gloom wrath of God preaching being ridiculed
or objected to by the progressive left, the liberals, And
of course the part that they conveniently left out is
(01:01:16):
that the preaching and teaching about the coming wrath of
God is only intended to be in the context of
explaining the gospel of Jesus Christ and the explanation of
his sacrifice and his victory and what that means for
the person hearing the message, or what that can mean. Okay,
(01:01:40):
let's wrap up Hebrews twelve, verses twenty two through twenty four.
It's talking about I'm just going to read it. It's
so good. No, you have been allowed to approach the
true Mount Zion, the City of the Living God, the
heavenly Jerusalem. I've drawn near to the countless Angelic Army,
(01:02:04):
the Great Assembly of Heaven, and the Church of the Firstborn,
whose names are written above. You have drawn near to God,
the judge of all, to the souls of good men
made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new
covenant or agreement, to the cleansing of blood, which speaks
(01:02:27):
of better things. This translation says, which tells a better story.
But we're not talking about fiction here. We're talking about
truths of God than the age old sacrifice of Abel.
So Abel's blood cried out to God from the ground.
If you're not aware of that story, I won't get
into it. You can look it up if you want.
(01:02:47):
Hebrews thirteen. A few verses here, verse eleven and twelve,
For when the blood of animals is brought into the
sanctuary by the high priests as a sacrifice for sin,
the bodies are burned outside the limits of the camp. Therefore,
Jesus also suffered and died outside the gate in order
(01:03:08):
that he might purify and consecrate the people through the
shedding of his own blood and set them apart as
holy for God. So, in other words, we get purified
and consecrated through the blood of Jesus, not because we
make up for things we've done with other things we do.
Hebrews thirteen, twenty and twenty one. Now the God of Peace,
(01:03:31):
who brought back from the dead, that great Shepherd of
the sheep. Our Lord Jesus, by the blood of the
Everlasting Covenant, equip you thoroughly for the doing of his will.
May He affect in you everything that pleases him through
Jesus Christ, to whom be the Glory forever and ever Amen.
(01:03:54):
So wow, so much to say there, Okay. One of
the things that it's important to understand is that a
totally new way of life is offered by the blood
of Jesus to those who receive God as their father,
through believing on him, through confessing Jesus as Lord before
other people. The way of life that's inherited from our
(01:04:18):
earthly forefathers is fundamentally futile apart from Jesus, the Way,
the Truth, and the life, the one who shed his
blood for us. The price for our redemption is paid
in full. So am I saying that the system of
this world is ultimately feudile. Yes, I am the conclusion
(01:04:40):
being conduct ourselves with reverence, true reverence. Common substitutes for
true reverence are reverence for the system. Another common substitute
for true reverence for the Lord is deference for bulliefs
one Peter one, verses seventeen through nineteen. And if you
(01:05:02):
call upon him as your father, who judges each one
impartially according to what he does, then you should conduct
yourselves with true reverence. Throughout the time of your temporary
residence on the earth, whether long or short. You must
know recognize that you are redeemed, ransomed from the useless,
fruitless way of living, inherited by tradition from your forefathers,
(01:05:24):
not with corruptible things such as silver and gold, but
you are purchased with the precious blood of Christ the Messiah,
like that of a sacrificial lamb, without blemish or spot. Okay,
I'm going to take a minute here and explain. So
obviously silver and gold was used to purchase stuff. That's
why it's being brought up right, is used as money.
(01:05:48):
And I want to bring up Romans. I think it
is Chapter eight, verse thirty two. It says that he
who did not spare his own son, but livered him
up for us all, how will he not also with
him freely give us all things. So it's really important
to understand how next level, like I think of Isaiah
(01:06:13):
fifty five, where it says as the heavens are higher
than the earth, so or are my ways above your ways?
My thoughts about higher than your thoughts. It's really important
to understand that there's just a vast difference in between
the system of this world, that is, the feudal way
(01:06:33):
of life inherited from our earthly forefathers, that runs on,
you know, corruptible things such as silver and gold compared
to God's covenant and the blood of Jesus. Saylah, let
me keep going. I want to make specifically emphasize do
not try to coast on excuses of corruption and darkness
(01:06:58):
with people who claim to walk in the light in
order to avoid dealing with your own sin, to avoid
dealing with God's arrangements for your forgiveness. Do not do that.
How many people do you know who have tried to
do that? They've tried to coast on excuses of corruption
and darkness with people who claim to walk in the
(01:07:18):
light in order to avoid dealing with their own sin,
dealing with God's arrangements for their forgiveness. Do we think
do any of us think that they're in heaven because
of how they handled it? It is really important not
to try and use other people and their corruption and
their darkness as an excuse for not dealing with our sin,
(01:07:42):
not dealing with God's arrangements for our forgiveness. So I'm
gonna read a passage that includes a very important verse
about confessing our sins, that God is faithful and just
to forgive us and cleanse us from all and righteousness
when we do that. If you don't know about that,
it's important. It's First John, chapter one, verse number nine.
Make a note on your phone, make a note on
(01:08:03):
a scrap of paper, Do something to get that verse
in your life. First John, chapter one, verses six through ten.
So if we say we are partakers together and enjoy
fellowship with Him when we live move are walking about
in darkness, we are both speaking falsely and do not
(01:08:24):
live practice the truth which the Gospel presents. But if
we really are living walking in the light as He
himself is in the light, we have true, unbroken fellowship
with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his
son cleanses removes us from all sin and guilt, keeps
(01:08:47):
us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations.
If we say we have no sin, refusing to admit
we are sinners, or I would say many times when
we try to attribute blamelessness to ourselves as if we
had no part in the situation. Anyway, let me stick
(01:09:07):
to the Bible. Okay. If we say it we have
no sin, refusing to admit that we are sinners, we
delude and lead ourselves astray. And the truth which the
Gospel presents is not in us, does not dwell in
our hearts. If we freely admit that we have sin
and confess our sins, he is faithful and just, true
to his own nature and promises and will forgive our sins,
(01:09:28):
dismiss our lawlessness, and continuously cleanse us from all unrighteousness,
everything not in conformity to His will and purpose, thought
and action. If we say claim we have not sinned,
we contradict his word, make him out to be false
and a liar, and is true, His word is not
in us. The divine message of the Gospel is not
(01:09:51):
in our hearts. That's really good, okay. The blood of
Jesus looses and frees us from our sins and forms
us into who we are called by God to be
the function. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay. I made
a quick little note to myself in in the area
(01:10:11):
by this particular thing to mention. So let me go
to the verse verse, which is Revelation one five, verses
five and six, And from Jesus Christ, the faithful, trustworthy Witness,
the first born of the dead, first to be brought
back to life, and the Prince ruler of the kings
of the Earth, to him who ever loves us and
(01:10:33):
has once for all loosed and freed us from our
sins by his own blood, and formed us into a kingdom,
a royal race, priest to his God and Father. To
him be the glory and the power, and the majesty
and the dominion throughout all the ages, forever and ever. Amen.
(01:10:54):
So be it. Okay, I need to read that again
because I made some mistakes. Okay, let me It's so good.
The blood of Jesus looses and frees us from our sins. Yes,
Revelation one, five and six, And from Jesus Christ, the faithful,
(01:11:15):
trustworthy Witness, the firstborn of the dead, first to be
brought back to life, and the prince ruler of the
Kings of the Earth, To him whoever loves us and
has once for all loosed freed us from our sins
by his own blood, informed us into a kingdom, a
royal race, praest to his God and Father. To him
(01:11:35):
be the glory and the power and the majesty and
the dominion throughout the ages and forever and ever. Amen,
so be it okay. So there's so much to be
said with that, of course, being loosed and freed from
our sins by his blood, so glorious, being made into
a royal race to his God and Father, Praise the
(01:11:56):
Lord for that. So much to be said about the glory, power,
the dominion being to Jesus throughout the ages. There's one
thing I specifically want to mention, which is the function
and meaning of amen. So as this particular passage highlights
in the specific translation, amen means literally, so be it okay.
(01:12:18):
Why is that important? That's important because the way that
God designed our souls is there's a particular detail in Deuteronomy.
I won't give you the exact reference. You can look
it up if you want to. There's a verse that
talks about everything is established through the mouth of two
or three witnesses, And so the way that our souls
(01:12:39):
have been designed is to have things established to ourselves
through two or three witnesses according to the word of God.
That's the design God gave us is that's what works.
Sometimes you don't have anybody to agree with you. Sometimes
nobody else is willing to have faith and release it
(01:13:02):
in line with what you are. When we have people
to agree with us, it's wonderful, it's wonderful, there's multiplied effectiveness,
it's so great. But sometimes we don't. And so when
we don't, the amen so be it is a confirmation,
(01:13:24):
a confirming statement that we can make to have that
second witness. Very sadly and pathetically I hear that modern
university students or students of some type are falsely informed
(01:13:44):
that amen is an English word and has something to
do with the male gender, the male sex. I apologize.
I'm learning that gender is not a thing, but it
has nothing to do with the English language or men.
It has to do with as many benefits as possible,
(01:14:11):
having additional trying to maximize the benefits of our design
from God that are available to us in circumstances of adversity,
when we don't have other people standing with us in
the manner that were being led by God to do.
Think of perhaps John the Baptist and the wilderness, or
(01:14:33):
even Jesus in the Garden of Casemone. Lots of times
where lots of times in the Bible the Apostle Paul
when he stood alone, but the Lord stood with him.
Lots of times that people in the Bible and we
ourselves have experiences where there wasn't anybody who was willing
to agree and stand with us. And so amen, of course,
(01:14:56):
we use it for far more things than you know,
those serious situations, But that is something that should be mentioned. Okay,
keep going. I want to talk about pleading the blood
of Jesus, because very sadly some people are so underinformed
(01:15:16):
in regard to the things of the Lord that they
are under the impression that pleading has to do with begging.
The United States judicial system was based originally upon truths
of God's Kingdom. So if you think of in the
American court system, the custom the practice that has been
established there is that you can enter one of two pleas,
(01:15:36):
either guilty or not guilty. You cannot get up and
say I didn't do it. You cannot get up and
say I'm innocent. You cannot get up and say I'm
falsely accused. You have two options. Guilty not guilty, that's it.
Of course, there is motions to dismiss and things like that,
but that's something else, and it's usually everybody in the
(01:15:59):
room is aware that that's going to happen and a
part of the process, because that's that's branching off in
it to a different direction. The plea to handle the
case is either guilty or not guilty, and that comes
out of the way that the Lord's court is set up.
So let's look at that revelation chapter twenty. Let's do
(01:16:23):
verses eleven through fifteen. Then I saw a great white throne.
So that's that's a throne for God, and the one
who was seated upon it, that's the Lord, from whose
presence and from the sight of whose face, earth and
sky fled away and no place was found for them.
(01:16:44):
That should be an interesting moment. I also saw the dead,
great and small. They stood before the throne, and books
were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the
Book of Life. Okay, now this is what the guilty
not guilty plea is coming out of. There are books
(01:17:06):
that are part of one type and variety, and then
there's something else, which is called the book of Life. Okay.
The stuff that's written in the books is absolutely accurate,
just as is the name's written in the Book of Life.
Let's get back to the passage. And the dead were
judged sentenced by what they had done, their whole way
(01:17:29):
of feeling and acting, their aims and endeavors in accordance
with what was recorded in the books. What's recorded in
the books, Their deeds, their actions are recorded in the books, okay.
And the seed delivered up the dead who are in it,
death in haites, the state of death, disembodied existence surrendered
(01:17:50):
the dead in them, and all were tried and their
case is determined by what they had done according to
their motives, aims and works. Okay. So that's explaining the books,
and we'll get to the other, which is the Book
of Life in just a minute. Then death and hades
(01:18:13):
were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the
second death, the lake of fire. Okay. So that's that.
And then it says if anyone's name was not found
recorded in the Book of Life, he was hurled into
the Lake of fire. So there's two methods whereby a
(01:18:33):
person is reviewed and for God's involvement, for eternity et cetera.
It is the book of Life. It is the books
wherein their deeds were written, and the blood of Jesus
is the only way to get in the book of Life.
That's it. So the people whose names are written in
(01:18:58):
the Book of Life that pertains the blood of Jesus,
his finished work. So when we plead the blood of Jesus,
we are not begging for anything. We are enacting in
the courtroom of heaven, the legal entry of Jesus, his
finished work, his sacrifice, his victory on behalf of ourselves,
(01:19:21):
that person, whatever the case may be. Okay, and I
did want to talk just briefly about extending the pleading
of the blood of Jesus to other people. If you're interested,
you can look at Exodus twelve for putting the blood
on the doorposts. You can look at Rahab in the
Old Testament with her scarlet thread, whereby her whole household
(01:19:42):
was saved everybody she crammed in there. I'll let you
do that if that's what's interesting to you. I have
been going for more than an hour, and I usually
try to keep it under a little bit more so
I'm going to wrap it up here. Thank you for
coming and again your faith in the blood of Jesus.
Romans ten nine and ten says, if you believe in
(01:20:05):
your heart God raised Jesus from the dead, and confess
with your mouth Jesus is Lord, you shall be saved.
With the heart you believe. With your heart you believe,
resulting in righteousness. With your mouth you confess, resulting in salvation.
And if you'd like a prayer to pray along with,
I have a free mini book a free ebook in
(01:20:27):
my profile. You can click that link. You can read it,
go over some of the things and pray the prayer
at the end. If you're interested in that, there's and
you just talk to God. The important thing is acting
on his word. God bless you guys.
