Speaker 1 (00:00):
The recording going.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Okay, hey, everybody, welcome to my spaces. First of all,
I apologize because I haven't been on in a while.
I like to keep up and maintain a routine, and
I got sick, and then a friend of mine got sick,
and then close friend, I mean someone that I worked
(00:23):
with a lot, and then one of this person's parents
got sick, and so it did throw me off my
usual routine. Did disrupt things a bit for me, but
I am back in action. Thank you bad Dog for
your encouragement to get back to it. I appreciate that
a lot.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
I have been thinking a while about sharing my thoughts
on someone. I've been spending some time there, and I'm
not actually putting this out like I figured it out.
I want to articulate some of the things that I've
been thinking about and considering in regard to it, and
(01:04):
I think that i'll have I typically leave the comment
section open, so I'm curious and interested on what the
feedback is about this, because I'm learning and excited about
the scriptures. Okay, so let's see. Let's start with prayer.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Heavenly Father, thank you for your word, Lord, I thank
you that the word of God is a lamp to
our feet and a light to our path. In the
name of Jesus, Lord, I pray that your holy spirit
of wisdom and revelation and the knowledge of God enlightens
the eyes of our understanding, that we know what is
the hope of your calling. What are the riches of
(01:46):
the glory of your inheritance and the saints. What is
the surpassing greatness of your power toward those who believe you,
in accordance with the working of the strength of your might,
which you brought about in Christ, when you raised him
from the dead and seated him at your right hand
in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority,
and power and dominion and every name that's named, not
(02:10):
only in this age, but also in the one which
is to come, and you put you put him as
head over all things, to the Church, which is his body,
the fullness of You who fills all in all. In
Jesus' name, I pray, Lord about I pray for us
to be filled with the knowledge of your will in
all spiritual wisdom and understanding. I pray for us to
(02:33):
walk in a manner that's worthy of you, and please
you in all respects and bear fruit in every good work.
I pray, Father, that we increase in the knowledge of God.
I pray that we're strengthened with all power according to
the might of Your glory, under all steadfastness and patience,
that as we joyously give thanks to you, Father, who
has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the
(02:56):
saints in light in Jesus' name, Praise God, Hallelujah, Holy Spirit.
Please come and direct me and what to say in
Jesus' name. So I have been looking at someone lately,
and I'll get started by reading it. How blessed is
the man who does not walk in the council the ungodly,
(03:17):
nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in
the seat of the scornful. But his delight and desires
of the law of the Lord, and in his law
he meditates day and night. He will be like a
treat firmly planted by streams of living. Oh, excuse me,
I correct myself. Let me get back to verse three.
(03:37):
So the translators inserted firmly. I'm actually gonna take that out.
He will be like a treat planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf
does not wither. And in whatever he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so, but they are like chaff,
which the wind drives away. Therefore, the wicked will not
(03:59):
stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of
the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish a lot.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
There. One of the things that.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Is important to me is perceiving the progression in verse one,
about how a person can start by just walking the council,
walking in the advice of people who do not exhibit
the character of Christ in their lives, and then end
up going from there where they're literally standing around where
(04:38):
people who miss the mark stand around, by the way,
That's what sin me. Sin is missing the mark. It's
a term that we just don't use anymore because it's
from archery, and there's not that much of that in
our society these days. And transgression is like a violation,
(05:00):
and iniquity is like something something like wrong inside of
us that we need corrected and fixed healed, and we
need wholeness that comes from the Lord. There's I won't okay,
I've got like three directions that opened up in my
(05:20):
mind as soon as I started.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Talking about those things. One of them is a book
of Hebrews.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
I think it talks about pursue the sanctification without which
no one will see the Lord. And of course, very
famously Isaiah fifty three talks about how surely Jesus bore
our Actually let me, let me get it, because it's
(05:46):
so beautiful. I'm just gonna read a little bit of it.
Surely our griefs or diseases and sicknesses Jesus himself bore,
and our sorrows or pains he carried. Yet we ourselves
(06:08):
esteemed him stricken, smitten of God, unafflicted. But he was
pierced through for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities.
The chastening for our well being fell upon him, and
by his scourging we are healed.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
I could go into that, but I won't. I'm going
to stick to my topic today.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Okay, someone, Then it starts talking about the person goes
from standing around in the path of the type of
people that missed the mark. Then it starts talking about
how the next thing is starting to sit around with
(06:49):
people who are scornful or mocking, laughing at their sarcasm,
laughing at their perverse speech, blowing it off, even finding
it amusing. Then I was, of course to me with
(07:09):
verse two where it talks about delight in the law
of the Lord. To me, that has to do with
the laws of God concerning being in Christ Jesus. That's
literally the main thing to me, and not disregarding the commandments,
but the spiritual laws concerning being in Christ Jesus is
(07:30):
really important in order to walk in my identity in
Christ and function in the Kingdom of God. And literally
it talks here about meditating in that day and night.
So meditating in the laws concerning being in Christ Jesus
day and night. This is a specified discipline. Without it
(07:59):
doesn't get me.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
It doesn't.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
There's a verse in Psalm one hundred and nineteen I
think it says where it says that Thy command is
exceedingly broad. There's so much space within that directive of
the spiritual discipline to meditate in God's law day and night.
Then it talks about being like a tree planted by
streams of water, and that speaks to me of stability,
(08:32):
stay in one place across years of time. Then talks
about yielding my fruit, my season, my leaf doesn't wither.
This is indicating gradual increase that incorporates the multiplication that
(08:57):
the Lord provides. I abide it the vine. Jesus is
the vine, the Father is the vine dresser. I'm the branch.
I bide in the vine, and I bear much fruit
and bring God glory. And this is talking about how
the target is that in whatever I do, I would prosper.
That there wouldn't be anything I was involved in that
(09:20):
didn't prosper. That is a completely different level of life
than I think most of us think about. That's really
been speaking to me this Psalm one. Then I was
seeing that the Bible talks about.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Excuse me please.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
I had somebody text me, I'm just gonna text them back.
Then it talks about how the wicked are not so,
but they are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
So what is that to me?
Speaker 2 (10:00):
That was talking about that if I am doing what
I'm supposed to be doing, I have that stability to
stay in place.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
And bring forth the fruit.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
And if I'm behaving in a wicked way, then when
the adversity comes, I just give way before the adversity.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
This is what I've been meditating on in regard to someone.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
This is my preliminary thoughts about the wicked are not
so they're like the chaff which the wind drives away.
In my preliminary understanding, I'm thinking these are people that
could also be in church and might also read their
Bible and pray.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
But.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Maybe not to the extent that produces that stability and fruitfulness,
but rather when the adversity.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Comes, they get into walking by sight.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
So then it talks about the Therefore, that's why the
wicked don't stand in the judgment. Well, what would be
what would make the difference of whether or not a
person could stand in the judgment and make decisions about
what the nature of something is that's not their situation. Well,
(11:26):
somebody who's been through that type of trial, that type
of test, but made the right decision instead of giving
way before the adversity and or giving up I guess
maybe I would like to say giving up the promises
of God, giving up the God's spiritual truth. And so
(11:47):
here it's talking about how the wicked will not stand
in the judgment. Well, if somebody, if if the if
the big deal, if the priority was whether or not
we held on to the word of God in our heart.
Then the person who gave it up when the wind
came to drive it away and let the wind do
that to them. Of course, that person wouldn't then stand
(12:11):
in the judgment concerning fruitfulness on the word they gave
way before the adversity.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
So that's been one of my thoughts.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
On this, and I'm curious and interested as to what
others think. Then it talks about nor sinners, people that
miss the mark in the assembly of the righteous. Well,
why would God mix in people that come off of
his word with the people who do not? Necessarily in
(12:43):
terms of who he loves. I mean, he causes the
rain to fall in the just and the unjust.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
But this is talking about.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
God's people, the righteous people gathering before God. And in
my limited understanding analogy of the Lord, this is for
a purpose, so that the people that missed the mark
weren't necessarily walking in the capacity to carry out the
(13:14):
purpose for which the righteous were assembled.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
These are just preliminary thoughts.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Then, verse six, it talks about for the Lord knows
the way of the righteous, but the way of the
wicked will perish, And obviously we're seeing the ways of
the wicked perish left and right, at least in the
United States of America. They these people's practices whereby they
steal from others, oppress others, belittle others, demean others. These
(13:43):
are evaporating left and right. The world is changing so
quickly that the people who are corrupt, they are not
able to keep up, and they do not understand what
is going on. They might be lashing out, but they're
not keeping up.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
So the way of the.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Wicked will perish is evident every day. But here it
talks about for the Lord knows the way of the righteous.
And I was considering that, and I was thinking on that,
and what came to my mind is that the Lord,
because he's walking with us, he's our shade on our
right hand.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
He's our shepherd who's with us as we walk through.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
The valley of the shadow of death, that we would
fear no evil because of the priority the emphasis that
we place upon his word. How is words of lamp
to our feet, a light to our path. How he's
our shepherd, is roden staff comfort us these various things.
He's with us, and he's getting to know us, and
(14:48):
the way that we take and the way that we
go about things, and what are.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
What like think of David when.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
He rejected Saul armor because he said, I haven't tested
these weapons.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
I don't know them. I don't know how to use them.
I don't know how to win with them and battle.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
What I know is my sling and my staff, and
so that's what he went into battle against the giant with.
And similarly, as we fight the good fight of faith,
as we overcome, the Lord is getting to know us
and our ways, and he's seeing what we do with what.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
He's entrusted to us.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
And yeah, I have a lot of thoughts on this
that I'm not sure how to explain them all right now,
but I'm learning and I'm interested in other people's thoughts
on this psalm. And that's it for today, short and sweet.
(15:54):
I hope you enjoyed it, and I plan to be
back again next week. By everybody,
