Speaker 1 (00:00):
What is going on? Everybody, welcome to strike up your
quick beer reviews with your pals owen and you know,
rapid Dave. I'm Alan, I was gonna make I was
gonna like Alan Alan the dove master over there, you
know whatever. But I realized already said your name. So
when I got stuck on mine, so like all right,
like oh rapp, oh no, I suck again? Oh no.
So I I picked up this beer off the shelf

(00:21):
of Total Wine Biz Mark H. Brow I'm know I'm
not saying it right. It's a pilsner, right, So we
were trying to figure out about trying to look up
something about this beer. You found something untapped.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
I found something just it's on untapped.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
There's no words.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
It's four point eight percent alcohol by volume and a
on the ibews everge score three point four to two out.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Of five out of fifty three ratings.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
I think so now a lot. I think the fact
that it has beer on this label and not like
beer like product or something like that, then it passes
the purity law because.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
It's brewd in Germany and they've got.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Brood and bottle by private Brower, Bowery Eyebow and knew
by hour Street. It's got the address and everything, I
mean zip codes on there. Uh, we should write them
a letter. EBow Germany, it's E I B A U
Ebau Germany. Whatever. Beer four popa ball and this is
a pint in nine ounces, so it's a it's a

(01:14):
little bigger four point per body. Never, yeah, I'll write
them a letter. There you go, how about that? Why not? Yeah? Anyway,
so this jumped off obviously just I was like out
there screwing around looking for beers. I found some seasonal
stuff and then went to another aisle. It's like there
were restock day. Okay, people fing everywhere, putting it on
the wall. I was like, oh my god, I just
want to And so as I was walking out, went

(01:35):
by the import section, which is like right there, and
so I was like, okay, cool, let me go ahead
and see what they got. And I saw this. It
look like a watermelon, you know the colors.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Yeah, but I was like, hey, what's up, buddy, Like, hey,
I like watermelon and it was up pills.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
I go, all right, we're good. Everything checks out here.
We're good. So some of it was complaining about like
the carbonation and whatnot. That looks like I.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Mean, beer that's an absolute perfect Yeah, that's.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
This beer is carbonated and made so perfect that Rapidave
couldn't even scorp the poor on it. And let me
tell you, he can screw up some pores.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Oh body.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
So But I mean it looks amazing, It looks clear,
it looks.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Smells delicious. Nice cheers, Yeah, mazz and mazel. Good things
got to stare at you. You always forget, so I'm
always locking. We learned a lot about German beer watching
there was a documentary what was the name of it.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Beer Land, beer Land yea or something like that.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Said after taste is that? Did we not watch these classes?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
I'm not really picking up a aftertaste or something like that, Okay,
I mean I think it's just nice and smooth and
crisp and delicious and good.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Learned a lot about that watching beer Land and whatnot.
That's how we know, Like we know certain things about
German beers and whatnot, like certain regions, you know, certain
beers are made in. Obviously I love pillsoners and whatnot.
So but yeah, the fact that you know this actually
says beer this is imported by I thought I saw
the company imported by Duna Limited. There's another address Linden,

(03:13):
New Jersey. So if you're gonna call it beer in Germany,
it can only have four ingredients, right, water, yeast, pops,
and malts. Right yeah, I think that's the four. You
can't have anything like we have here in Texas, right
craft breweries around us that you put anything, you know,
snickers bars and all kinds.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Of sentimental crunch crunchberries just straight up just grab a
whole bunch of like cheesecakes and dump them in there.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Yeah, like, nothing against it. I'll be honest with you. Hey,
I drink this. Yeah yeah, I drink those as well.
But I do like just regular old beer that could
pass the purity law, you know. I do like basic beers.
I love pilsons, I love culshes. So when I see
a pilsner or a culture I haven't had, I'm like
a grab it. You're like, okay, you're coming home with me. Yeah.

(03:56):
And it was just sitting right there, like, hey, a
little little guy, anybuddy, So your can looks like.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
A watermelon and you're a you're a pilsner.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
You can check all the boxes. This thing is golden
Clarity's see right through it. It's beautiful paper, white head
on it, perple carmination. And that was the hard pore too.
I went ahead and hard poor them both. Just take
care of the tissue in your stomach, I guess right.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Yeah, yeah, you gotta that napkin that you keep in
your stomach, you gotta you gotta treat it kindly. You
only get one napkin in your stomach, and if you
don't treat it kindly, you'll lose it.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Yeah, this is you don't want to lose it. Look
at it. I mean you can see it on the screen.
We're in a good room with some well some good
lights or whatever, and it just looks I mean, that's
exactly what it looks like when I'm sitting there staring
at Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Yeah, you get a little bit of a better look
when we're kind of set up like this versus when
we're both at home and the camera well, and the
camera's right in front of you up close and all
that there's some distance, some better lighting.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
You know, you got to get the mood right, you know,
when we're in the room together, because you.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Know, I've noticed that my the brio, the camera that
I using my other like this is the older one.
This is like the old Logitech, right, so it's supposed
to be lower technology. It's not even an adph whatever,
but the one in there, it's like it'll adjust the
light automatically, so then everything looks different. So every time
I hold up a beer, it looks it looks orange

(05:16):
and it's a red beer. It's darker than what it is.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
It always looks darker, right, and even like shining a
light on and even like when you got the camera closer,
it goes in and out of zooming in on different things,
Like I'll have problems all the time with it, Like
I'm holding the can up, but it catches my ear
and it's zooming in on my ear and focused on
my ear instead of the can that I'm holding up.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Then I'm trying to hide behind right, you know.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
But this, I mean, all of this is phenomenal. Like
I actually think this is delicious. This is one of
those that I'll just go ahead and tell you right
now not only is it good, but it's good for you.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
I'm miss drink a beer like this simple. This is yeah,
exactly right, just right to the point. They got a recipe.
You know, it has obviously it passes period of law
or whatever. I just you know, we drink more of
these beers kind of towards you know, when you get
in the fest beer time. But then what happens is
we get overtaken by there's so many brewers around us
that start putting out their fest beers and whatnot, and

(06:14):
it can be it. It just you don't have time
to go through them. All right, there's a lot. There's
a lot. And fest beer is different than obviously this
is like a you know, this is a style, this
is pilsener. It's gonna be a year round thing, right,
fest beer is different October fest beers are different as well.
You know, it's just but this is when I go
through German beers, it's like September, October, you know, and whatnot.
But a regular pilsner or a cools I'm in year round. Baby.

(06:37):
Oh yeah. So I mean think big fan, big fan anywhere.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Anytime I will drink it, I will enjoy it. This
kind of ever score three point four two and like,
honestly that's low for me. Like I really love Pillsner's.
I enjoy I enjoy the German pilsner more so because
again it's just it's simple, right, it's the four ingredients.
The ab V is kind of in that that sweet

(07:04):
spot at that four point eight, right, I'm probably.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Closer to like a.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
I just want to say a four, because it's.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Just a good beers and they actually hit and they
hit the mark, they hit the mark, and I mean
almost I could probably go even higher on.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
It, honestly, but it's just the flip. I've had some
other beers that are just phenomenal and just delicious and
different flavors and things, but I mean, for just a
straight pilsner, this is delicious. The pound ability is high
on this. Like I I would love to have like
a tall pack of I would knock back a twelve
pack of these tall boys and not even think twice

(07:44):
about it and do it pretty damn quick because it's
so good, it's so smooth. I really enjoy this. I'm
gonna be sitting at a four on this one. I
think I really like it.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
You're Afican has it at a score of eighty one,
which is good. Uh, there was it? The average score
for this three point five. Now, not a lot of reviews.
It's funny enough. They got added October twenty fifth twenty
twenty four. I'm like, that's pretty recent because most of
the ones when when I when I have a German beer,
it goes back a little while. Now this one, it's
it's can art is it's like a wrap on it,

(08:17):
so and there's no stamp, So I don't know how
old this is or anything like that. I have no
other information about it, but yeah, I'm right there with you.
Four it's good. It checks boxes, but also is it's delicious,
It's tasty. It is this is style of beer. I like,
you don't get extra points because it's a style like
but it's because you brewed it the way it's supposed

(08:37):
to be brewed. Tastes that way it's supposed to taste
everything like that. So yeah, it's a little pop in there.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
It's it's really good, Like I really enjoy this beer.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
I want another one. So I think I saw them
wrapped up in like four packs or six packs or
something like that, but I just I happen to snag
this one off the shelf, get a single just for
a quick little review. But yeah, check out your local
bottle shopper. When I got this from Total Wine and Plano,
I go to either Plano or Lewisville, and if I'm
looking for something a little bit more local. Uh, And

(09:10):
now I can't get international beer from here, but the
Lone Star in Kilton is a place I pop into
quite frequently. So yeah, but yeah, thumbs up for me.
We'll try again. Like it. Enjoyed it?

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Yeah, I mean Brian on Untapped says it very well.
It's just so damn chuggable. And that's what this beer is.
It's you just chug the mess out of it.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Just that it's part of those beers, you know, easy drinking,
low ABV you know under you're under five. It's true,
it's true to style and it's tasty. Yeah, and it's
just yeah, that'll do it? Does it all? Have you
guys had this before? Let us know.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Again, there's only like fifty three check ins and Untapped
so not a ton. So I'm assuming this is more
of a newer style thing. Let us know if you've
had it. If you haven't, going go and find it,
get it, even if you have to, if you have
to fly the Germany.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
To get it, it's worth it.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Checking out the brewery. I'll give you.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
I mean, I'm gonna write a letter to them and
just let them know why I appreciate their beer and them.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
And you need to do that. And I want to
see if they reply a return address and all that
kind of stuff. They just help us say thanks so
much for making this great beer. We reviewed it amazing,
you know, or whatever, and then see, I will. I will.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
During the show next week, I will read the letter
that I wrote. Okay, all right, so.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
That's gonna be what.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
April seventeenth or sixteenth, or whatever it will be. Watch
the live show and I will read the letter that
I wrote to the brewery that I that I mailed
to them.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
How about that?

Speaker 1 (10:47):
You can't, I can't. I can't.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
But guys, thank you so much for watching.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
We appreciate you, and we're the one podcast in the
world that's not afraid to say we love you.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
As always, I'm Allen. Talk to your letter.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
