Speaker 1 (00:01):
What is going on? Everybody? Welcome to strike out beer
quick beer reviews with your pals, Allan, Rapidave and rap
a day Eve.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I'm Alan, what's going on, buddy? You know.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
I was like, it's a little warm around the area
right now in North Texas. You know, there's a little
shower today. And then I was like, you know what,
I got to pick up some beer for today, and
I was like, this is the perfect summer beer. It
jumped off the shelf at me. Man, We're having lemon
shand this is fine and dandy Lemon shandy refreshing weheed
Ale with real lemon juice by Community Beer Works out

(00:30):
of Dallas, Texas. So I figured it was time for
a shandy. We hadn't had one yet.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
I've been looking at this at Kroger for a few
weeks now, yeah, and just hadn't pulled the trigger. And
then when you sent the picture saying hey I got this,
I was like, okay, An it was on sale. It
was like eight bucks for a six.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Pack, yeah, eight ninety nine at Mike Kroger. And then
I was sitting there looking It's available around the Metroplex,
you know, depending on where you go, it could be
nine bucks or ten bucks, but either way, ten bucks
for a craft beer sixer, you know, good stuff, right, yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Man, So according to Untapped, it as nothing. Uh it's
a shandy slash rather coming in four point two percent
alcohol by volume average score three point seventy four out
of five out of one hundred and fourteen ratings. So
this is still a fairly new one that hasn't been
checked in a lot.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
So that's what I wanted to to kind of grab
to and a local beer we need to get back to,
you know, helping people out around the DFW area. You
know what I mean? Hm? Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes,
so I I think I popped over to communitybeer dot
com to check it out because that's where I went

(01:40):
and fund it because obviously nothing was on untapped, right,
so you have obviously it's it's a as I mentioned,
refreshing wheedale with real lemon juice taste. You know, definitely
got lemon juice in there. Oh, four pint alcoholic volume
ten wu's styles of shandy. It's available year round. Now
I'm like, I think this is a relatively new beer.
Like you said, right, It's available in six pack cans
a quarter kid and a half keg. Now, let me

(02:02):
pull this over here so I can look towards you.
I want to look towards you. Bring it. The ultimate
warm weather refresher A light in crisp wheat beer is
made even more delightful with an additional of natural lemonade
made with real lemon juice and organic agave syrup. Why
is this thing moving around? Okay? There we go, all right?
I usually say, you know, I I like to ask

(02:24):
you the question as far as you know, what is
it pair well with?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Alan?

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Okay, Okay, we're gonna play that. Let's take a couple
more ships because this is really tasty.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Oh man. I like it when they have it on
the can though, because when they have it on the can,
they do bits, right, the brewers that put it pairs
well with something on the can, they like to do bits,
and I like it.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
I don't see anything on here that's telling me that whatever,
so all right pairs well with it's there's four things
go ahead, and it's nothing crazy. It's it's basic stuff. Okay,
it's basic stuff.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Pairs well with swimming pools?

Speaker 1 (03:02):
No, no, no, okay, other bodies of water? How about that? Lakes?
Lake days and lazy river floats.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Okay, let's see here. What else is this pair well with? Uh?
Pairs well with warm summer evenings? No, no, okay, I
mean I'll give you.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
I'll give you chilling in a lawn chair.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Okay, I mean I was porch sitting was going to
be next. I was going to say next. I can't
say pork trocking because that's port rocker. Yeah, okay, so
let's do this.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
How about the next one is a food? It perfectly
pairs well with what food?

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Barbecue?

Speaker 1 (03:49):
The perfectly grilled hot dog, hot dog.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
There we go.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
I know you'd be excited. I know you're gonna about
that one because you love hanging out in the lawn.
You like doing yard work and stuff like that, and
you're always about having that beer after bowing the yard,
are doing any type of long work. You know, you
go outside and trema bush, You're like, you know what,
I need a beer. It's like a reward.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
It is. It is you get rewarded for good things.
And since they already said hontalk, because I was gonna say,
like picnics, right.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
The last one you will never get. I just happened
to look down at it, I go all right in uh,
I'll just it pairs well with rock Lobster by the
Bee fifty twos.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
I would not have gotten that one. I would not
have gotten that.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
It's so great rock Lobster.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
I just think a family guy, I want to think
of that.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Absolutely. Now we've both been out to the community over
here in Dallas. It's at three thirty one ten Commonwealth Drive, Dallas, Texas.
Give him a shout at two one four see twenty
one now. Monday and Tuesday the tap rooms closed, but
Wednesday Thursday they're open eleven am to ten pm. Friday
and Saturday eleven am to in pm, and in Sunday

(05:01):
ten thirty am to nine pm. So I wus a
cool little place to go. I think anytime. You know,
they got inside seating, they got outside seating, and it's
a real big place. It's huge.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
They've also got a local I don't know if it's
their official headquarters or not, but Dallas Pets Alive is
right there at Community Brewing.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
They always have some yeah, they always have some adoption
thing going on.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Well, that's that's where it's at. That building there, that's
that's their building. The kiddo's old softball coach. They run
that organization. Oh nice.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
So kitchen hours looks to be the same as the
taproom hours, with the exception of Sundays they have brunch. Well,
they do have brunch from ten thirty to am to
three pm. So it's they have good food. They have
good and they got a crazy array of drinks and
also like mocktails and cocktails and THCHC drinks and stuff

(05:56):
like that.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
SoC for now.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Yeah, yeah, somas as well that there.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
They have also got the the Nada line of non
alcoholics that is is really delicious. So if you're someone
who drinks na beers, it's definitely a place that you
can go and knock them back. Right, you can go
out there and knock back You can spend the whole
day out there drinking na's and not have to worry
about getting home. Right, a cool place. The patio area,

(06:25):
the outdoor area is huge. They got corn whole picnic
tables for days. You never have to worry about a
place to sit. It's it's a pretty it's a pretty
good sized location. It's been a couple of times and
had fun every time. I'm gone.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
So let's see Brudent Texas Beer for the greater good
Cheershell is it Community beer dot Com?

Speaker 2 (06:47):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (06:47):
They are on the socials, I think on Facebook, Instagram
and what's called I don't know about anything else. Yeah,
super light, I mean it's it's I love I like
Shandy's especially, I'll tell you what. Uh who is it?
The down there right next to them, and they just
shut they just they just shut down. Outfit Outfit Brewing.
You know they had they made it with the Lord's Lemonade,

(07:09):
you know they had it was really good too. But
it's like it's like a real good combination, you know
what I mean in a shandy, you know, beer and
lemonade and whatnot. And it's just it makes it so
much more refreshing. And if you keep it low ABV
like this m it's a it's a something you can
hang around with all day and enjoy yourself and don't
have to really worry ge about getting out of control.

(07:29):
And perfect grill mate too, you know, if you're grill
duty keeps you nice and refreshed. You know, it gets
a little warm this time of the year in front
of that grill.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
It does, even when you're not for the grill, it
gets a little warm, but yeah, this is really good.
I mean I'm putting this right up there kind of
with poor Trocker, you know, the same man as Portrocker,
which we look forward to every year. I think that's
pretty awesome that this is actually going to be available
year round, because I know there are several times throughout
the year where I'm just like, man, I really wish

(07:59):
Portrocker was out right now, right, But now I've got
an option, a very viable, very viable option to that.
That's that's pretty good locally brewed. This is good, and
I don't be damned if it's not good for you.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
So this is going on quite well.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
So score wise, I'm probably at about a three seven.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
On this, uh, right on par with everybody else.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
It's pretty damn delicious, is what it is?

Speaker 1 (08:31):
Anything taken away from a four or something higher?

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Uh No, it's just it is what it is, right,
It's it's it's a lemonade beer, right, It's nothing that's
going to knock your socks off, but it's good. It's refreshing.
It's not something that I'm gonna, you know, tell everyone, dude,
you have to try this, right, it's it's good. Yeah, yeah,

(08:56):
you know what.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
You got any left over there to your pal? Thanks
everybody watching too, Cheers everybody.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
What's your score?

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Well, I'm a good a four because it actually to me,
it's a it's true to form it it it checks
boxes and it's really tasty and there's nothing extra floating
around in there. The carbonation was perfect. The look, the smell,
the taste, the mouth will I'm getting a little you know,
the tingle in the corners of my mouth or the

(09:28):
corner of my jaw because it's a little puckering, but
uh yeah, it makes my mouth water. But yeah, I
like rattlers. I like shandy. I don't have them very
often because of just the the sweetness, you know whatever.
But this thing hits. I like it. I like it
a lot, So big thumbs up for me. I will
have again, and we're gonna have it tonight on the
Strike Up Beer live stream. So if you're watching this

(09:48):
on Thursday, Friday or dare I say.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Next week, uh, and watch the show and you can
watch us drink five of these yeah, oh yeah, and
not tell you what we think about it, because you
had to watch this to find out what we think.
Because This is the official official review. Yeah, community, Lemon Shandy,
go and get something sticking in your bullet year round.

(10:11):
It's good and good for you. As always, I'm Allen.
We'll talk to you later. Deuces,
