(00:01):
This is amazing media production. Hello, most awesomeone. How are you.
I hope you're doing well and feelingwell today. I'm a Yanna Angel and

(00:21):
you're listening to the Quit Playing Smallpodcast. This is your space for inspired
thinking because I want you to challengeyourself on how you can be better,
play bigger in life, do better, show up bigger and better, just
all the things. And so Ihope that this podcast serves as feel good

(00:45):
motivation for you, helps you geta little bit more honest with yourself,
and all the good things that youwant swirling around you come to you as
a result of you opening your mind. It's funny we have come to you
the last episode of this season. It is the end of August twenty twenty

(01:07):
three, and we're about believe Ican't talk, which happens sometimes, but
we're about to go into fall, and going into fall, I'm going to
be launching relaunching the Switch, Pivotor Quit podcast with new episodes. So
up until now, or I guess, up until that point where the new

(01:30):
episodes come, I will be givingyou condensed versions of previous episodes. Good
stuff. In some of these previousepisodes, I've really been enjoying listening to
them and pulling out things myself thatinspire me. So I'm sure that you're

(01:51):
gonna get something from these previous episodeswhen I'm digging in the crates and giving
you that newness, So you canlook out for that. While this show
is on hiatus and this has beena good second season, I hope that
you have found some things that youcan take away from these episodes or share

(02:12):
with your people, or just holdon to sit with and maybe revisit sometime
in the near future. So today, what are we talking about today?
Today we're talking about dialoguing about yourdesires. So, if you're unfamiliar,
a lot of the topics that I'mtalking about or the things that I'm sharing

(02:35):
on the equip blank Small podcasts comefrom the equip blank Small book of the
same name, obviously, and alot of what I wrote in that book
comes from personal experiences, things thatI've either experienced firsthand, which is most
of it, or that I've witnessed. And so today talking about desires,

(02:59):
dialoguing about desires. M Okay, what do I want to start with this?
I'll start with sharing what I originallywrote, and then I'll riff off
of my current present day thoughts.Allow your thoughts to be pushed out out

(03:19):
from a place that feels uncomfortable, because you will remain in that state if
your dreams continue to be untold.Share what motivates you. Trust someone with
your thoughts. The right people arearound us for a reason, and sometimes

(03:44):
it's as simple as to help usstart. So why do I say that?
Sometimes it's as simple as to helpus start. And that's because we
can get in our own heads. We can hold ourselves back. We can
make all the excuses perfection being nomoral you know, for so many people.

(04:05):
But when you tell someone what you'rethinking, when you share with someone
what your desires are, they mightcheck in with you. If they're your
good, good friends, they willcheck in with you and they will ask
you. So, whatever happened withthat is? If you don't say anything

(04:28):
to them and update them right, they're gonna ask you whatever happened with that
idea, whatever happened with X,Y or Z, And that'll either put
it back on your radar, orif you've already been working on it,
that will show you that they careabout what's important to you and what your
desires are, and when someone inquiressometimes it's just a little nudge that you

(04:56):
need to either get started or keepgoing. Now, the other part of
this is when you dialogue about yourdesires with your close community, they often
have resources for you, even ifnot right then and there in that moment.

(05:17):
Because you've shared this, it canbe top of mind for them,
and they may encounter a person asituation that would be beneficial for you,
and because you've shared this, theycan then advocate on your behalf, whether
it's making an introduction for you, speaking your name, and rooms that you're

(05:41):
not currently in. However, itflows and comes together. Because they know
what your desires are, they canbe a champion for you. And so
I'll share a couple of things thathave swirled around in my life recently that
are an example of this. Soand I got together, really good friends

(06:02):
from way way back, got togetherfor dinner one evening, and we were
going around the table sharing our desiresfor the year to come. What do
we want to see happen and whatdo we want to manifest in our lives
in the next year, And uponcheck in, one of our girlfriends upon

(06:25):
check in, I should say,one of our friends because it wasn't all
women at the table. One ofour friends, upon check in with the
group, helped to reveal that oneof the other friends. By sharing what
her desires were with her community, one of her friends nominated her for a

(06:47):
program that could be hugely beneficial anda game changer for her career. Now,
had she not shared this bit withher friend, her friend would not
have thought to nominate her. Herfriend may not have even known that this

(07:08):
could be beneficial for her because shewouldn't have known what the desires were.
As we go throughout this world,we may do our best to have our
finger on the polls and to knowabout things in our industry or things that
could positively impact us, but there'sno way for us to know everything.
There's no way for us to beincluded in tapped in about every single thing,

(07:30):
and so sharing with other people whatyou're trying to do and what you
want to do can only help youif it's the right people. Right,
we have discernment about the people thatyou're sharing with, but if it's the
right people, it can only helpyou because they are consuming information and have
access to people, and are inpositions and situations that you may not be

(07:53):
in, and they can be abranch of you and an advocate for you
in those instant to help you furtheryour dreams and your desires. So also,
I will say recently, I've beensharing more about my desire to get

(08:13):
into the voiceover space, and asa result of that, people and friends
have connected me with other friends thatthey know in the space. They have
spoken my name in rooms already thatI have not been in, advocating for
me as a voiceover talent. Theyhave invited me to events and into spaces

(08:37):
where they think I should be becauseit will help me flourish in this space.
Now, I've been thinking about voiceoverfor I'm gonna say maybe over six
months now, since the beginning ofthe year, the New Year. And
had I just continue to keep thisto myself and try and go it alone,

(09:01):
no one would know that they couldbe an advocate for me. No
one would know that they could speakmy name in rooms that I'm not in.
No one would know that they knowpeople that it would be beneficial for
me to be connected to. SoI hope you see where I'm going with
this, and I think you're pickingup the flow that I have going on

(09:24):
here. We have to share.Sometimes we get insecure about sharing. We
have trepidation with sharing, and it'svalid and it's understandable. However, leaning
to the people that you know meanyou well, Leaning to the people who

(09:46):
are already pouring into you in yourlife. These are the people that I
encourage you to feel comfortable sharing with, because they want what's best for you.
They've already displayed that. And soit doesn't mean that you have to
share with everybody, right, dialogueabout your desires doesn't mean that you have
to tell the world. It justmeans that you have to acknowledge it with

(10:09):
yourself and then take it a stepfurther and acknowledge it and share with the
people who care about you, andit'll just make your journey a little bit
easier. In my opinion, that'swhat I've learned and experienced. So I
hope that this serves you well, this tidbit. I hope that you decide

(10:31):
to share something that you've been pondering, share it with someone who cares about
you, and let's see what typeof magic you can make or manifest by
the power of sharing your desires.Thank you so much for hanging out with

(10:52):
me. Today and every day thatyou decide to come back and listen to
the quick playing small podcasts. Iappreciate our time together this season. I
look forward to the amazing things thatyou all will continue to do and manifest
in your life. I'm just sendingyou positive vibes, positive vibes. I

(11:13):
hope that your day is filled withgoodness and people who want to see you
when cheering you on, smiling atyou, because don't forget the power of
a smile. I just want toadd that little bit in there too before
I go. A smile can doa lot, especially on a day when
it's feeling a little uh, youknow, you're feeling a little black.

(11:35):
A good old smile from somebody, even a stranger, especially a stranger,
I'll say that can turn things around, make you feel good, all warm
and fuzzy inside. So thank youagain for spending time with me, and
I will catch you next season. And if you want more of hanging out
with me, you can come andcheck me out on Instagram at Ayanna ah

(11:58):

new episodes in the fall for theSwitch, Pivot or Quit podcast and also
let me say this sharing. I'mtalking about sharing desires right as I'm relaunching

to reach out to me or sendthem my way, connect us whatever that
looks like, because I want toget some good conversation and media conversation going
around the relaunch of the Switch,Pivot or Quip podcast, because I feel

(13:07):
like this is the time, thisis the time to continue to have these
conversations, because so many people arein a position of transition, whether it
be different careers, different jobs, trying to just find their way in this
tricky economy. It's a thing. And so the more that I think we

(13:30):
can rally around the conversation and presentuseful information around career transitions and life transitions,
I think the better off, wewill all be so. If you
have anybody that you would like toconnect me with, this is me dialoguing
about my desires with you. Feelfree to connect me and I appreciate it.
