This is amazing media production. Thisepisode of the Quick Playing Small podcast is
(00:23):
brought to you by I Quit PlayingSmall dot com, where you can get
your copy of a quip Playing Smallcompanion book to this pot. It's filled
with daily inspiration you didn't know youneeded. Hello, most awesome one.
I'm a Yanna Angel and you arelistening to the Quip Playing Small podcast,
(00:44):
your space for inspired thinking, encouragementand goodness. All right, now that
we're feeling good doing good, let'sgo ahead and dive into our bit of
inspiration for the day. To ownyour voice, you don't have to be
the loudest. You just have tostand firm in your words, have truth
(01:04):
in what you speak, integrity inyour delivery, and passion in your prose.
The world may try to convince youto change your words. These are
things that all powerful people must endure. You will be tested because to play
big, you must take ownership ofyour voice. Say what you mean and
(01:29):
mean what you say. So whenI wrote these words that you own your
voice. You don't have to bethe loudest. What came to mind for
me was that so many people thinkthat power comes from being the most visible,
being the loudest, being the mostvocal, like speaking up all the
(01:52):
time, and there are sometimes peoplethat have that subtle quiet power. It
doesn't demand all these things. Itjust commands a certain amount of respect because
it exists in the way that itdoes. It doesn't it's not grasping to
(02:13):
be bigger than what it is.It just is what it is, and
because it exists, it commands thatpower, that attention. And for me,
I know sometimes I can be loudand big and boisterous and bold,
but I definitely realize in the lastfew years, and it's not like some
(02:36):
big lesson that came over me andthat hit me. It's more just like
subtly I realize that you don't haveto be the loudest, you don't have
to be the biggest voice in theroom in order to be heard and also
have something to say. Right,The power is not always in the level
(02:58):
that your voice can raise to.Sometimes the power is in what you choose
to express with your voice, thewords that you say, the words that
you select, and how you selectthem. Sometimes the simple power is in
that let that breathe take it in, especially if you're someone who's been sort
(03:24):
of like really mulling over how youpresent to the world and if you're thinking
about how you want to alter that. This is something definitely for you to
kind of take and sit with. But thank you so much for spending time
with me today. I hope thatyou have a wonderful rest of your week.
I hope that you enjoy all ofyour days. I appreciate you and
