Vibes right, And I know this is like nostalgic in
a weird way. It is like even the way that
Chris and I are setting up. Chris is in my
my game room right now, And this is what we
used to do on our previous project too. Yeah, this
is how we used to record on the couch looking
at Chelsea and we.

Would always hear like Chris was like always door dashing
something I remember, like, oh my food.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Oh yeah, you do a lot of that, I remember, yeah,
and uh. And it wouldn't be complete episode without Max
and I having issues. This time, we couldn't find the
headphone spitterer because it's been so long. Usually we're having
other technical issues. But it's not an episode unless we
have issues that are techn quality.

I literally forgot how to set up with two people.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yeah. Max is looking so hard, and the headphone spider
was literally where he was looking. I was just like, dude,
it's right here, and I found it, like I think
one minute.

The last time that all three of us recorded was
probably after we saw Coke came Bear. No way, do
you think that's it? I think that might be it.
But we were all in the same place. We were
all together at your house.

Yeah, and then I think that's it.

And that was like early twenty twenty three.

Yeah, that was February twenty twenty three. Yeah, there's no
way it's been that long. Okay, let's see it all right,

A picture of that day popped up the other day and.

I was like, oh, yeah, Chris. Were you on episode
one eighty eight of The Mask? No, okay, Chris? Were

I now I think I've been on it since. Uh,
it's our last project.

Okay, it's really, I didn't realize it was this long.

Day, did I? The time goes by too quickly and
don't want it to happen again.

Okay, wait, oh, I found when when Chris was on
last when I was what I found when you were
on last bit, not when all three of us were.
You want to know when you were on the Drastic
Park Jurassic Park episode on the thirtieth anniversary of Jurassic
Park Park in June. I was on June twenty eighth,
twenty three, year and a half.

Yeah, I did get COVID early twenty twenty three, so
could have been a COVID time.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah.

I think you were sick or something something happened. Yeah, yeah, okay,
so that was the last. It's been over a year, dude.
It's been a year in like six months. No, a
year in like three months.

Yeah, four months. Well, welcome back, thank you, Chris.

Have you seen any movies this year?

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Chris? Have you seen any movies in the last year
and a half.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
I don't think so, Like in the theaters nothing.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
I saw the Prisoner of Azkaban. Indeed they did, you
know how they do the fan favorite five dollars?

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
So I went to that, But besides that, I haven't
seen anything.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Like, no new movies or anything.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
No, you don't have a end list anymore.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
No, you see Dead Wolver.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
No, I haven't seen that either.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
Guys, I've been going a lot the theater.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Yeah, it's been a year and whatever months of adulting.
It isn't always fun.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
I'm gonna see The Substance tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
Oh man, my friend Justin saw that. He said it's gnarly.

I can't wait.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
What eescuator?

I was gonna say's that to a Demi Moore?

And it's like a.

Body horror film?

Oh yeah, it's really It's really gruesome.

I think.

Yeah, it's supposed to be like but it's considered like
one of the best horror movies. Oh yeah, what's just
saying A lot.

People are really liking it. I want to see The Joker,
but I don't know. But people are saying.

Oh good, have you seen the Tomatoes?

Speaker 3 (06:13):
I would just go with an open mind, because I've
read reviews before of movies that are supposed to be
terrible and they're not as bad. Maybe the expectations still
load actually be good.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
That's true. You never know, but I've been hearing. Yeah,
I've been hearing good things. Yis. I loved the first one.
I thought the first one was great.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Me too, And I want to see Megalois.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
I heard that's also not good.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
And I want to see my old ass.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
I want to see SNL.

I want to see Saturday Night m h. I call yeah,
it's funny. Like Jasmine and I. We were in bed
and we were almost asleep, and then I was like, hey,
do you want to see my old ass on Monday night?
And she's like, what is this sleeper? She's laughing and
then I realized what I was saying out loud, right,

So we were laughing, and then I was like, no,
it's a movie my old ass. Do you want to
go see it with me? We didn't end up seeing it.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
So did she say you're not that old yet? No?

Speaker 2 (07:15):
She said, turnover, babe, I want to see your old ass. Ah. Okay,
so Chris.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
But I can't believe one now that we sit and
think about, it's been a year and some months and
I didn't see any movies.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
It's because you haven't been around.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Chelsea, and I no, but I used to.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Can we just say, like, where have you been? Just
if the listener is wondering right now, and for some
of you, you probably don't even know Chris, like for
real though, for real, though a year and a half
there's been new listeners. So let me start over, because
this is totally like off the cuff. There is no
outline like we usually do. We just literally press record.

(07:59):
So yes in the beginning of COVID, but we were
already planning this podcast before the world went to hell.
It was myself, Chris, my cousin, and our buddy Chills.
So Chris, you've been gone for a while. Where have
you been?

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (08:20):
I mean long story, short storytime with Christopher.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
I was a driving instructor and a full time Uber driver.
What so my fiance is from a small town in Mexico.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Wait, I didn't know that you were an Uber driver.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
No, no, no, no, you were always Oh I see, I say,
as she never learned to drive because she's from a
town of like three hundred people. So part of that time,
not all of it, I want to say, up until June,

(08:55):
she could not drive, so I would luckily my boss
let me come in early, leave early. Then I would
drive straight to her, go pick her up, and then
come back and then I would drive her to school,
wait at school, come back. So a lot of that
time I was doing a lot of driving and I
was exhausted. She felt really bad, but I didn't mind.

(09:17):
But you know, I'm a great teacher. She now has
her license and she could drive.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Well, it's great.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
When did she get her license.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Like the beginning of June that long? Yeah, and then
then I work for one of the branches of NASA,
and there was a lot of job uncertainty that started
like in May, so literally like right after she got
her license, I was how do you say it? I

(09:44):
was in a deep depression, so I didn't do much.
I was in bed stress all the time. And you
could ask my fiance was she was pretty scared for
some time.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
But you know, you're making this sound really depressed, but
it's the truth.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
No, No, I think it was more stress and anxiety
type of thing. So I guess the term depression isn't
the right one. But when I'm like a stressed out person,
I am in bed, sure, I'm eating, and this is that.
So this past year was pretty hard. I think I
should have dealt with it differently by using different outputs,

(10:24):
like max suggested to me at times. One time, just
coming onto the podcast, I didn't do it, and but
you know, I got through it. I have job security
and life's good, and I don't think you're happy. This
should be based on having a job.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
Well, and the good news is you're getting married.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
I am getting married.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
I don't think people know that you were even in
a relationship.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
I mentioned it like a year and a half ago,
but that's when I was last on.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
I'm trying to think. I don't remember if you were
mentioned that you were going back and forth for Mexico.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
I think I said that my fiance really liked Harry
Potter because we talked about it a long time ago.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
Yeah, okay, but yeah, so you've just been really focusing
on your relationship, your job, and life's life.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
Unfortunately, I mean not unfortunately for the relationship, but I
realized after all this that jobs should not control how
your happiness. So being serious, yeah, yeah, so, but life's good.
Talking to therapists now, I've been happier than I ever
have in a long time, trying to break out and

(11:36):
do bigger and better things for me to yeah, well,
at least my mind saying it was great.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
To see you and Lupita when we went to see
John Williams when Williams wasn't there.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
But that was the last time we saw each other, right, yeah,
all three of us, and then Chelsea, that was the
first time you saw Chris And how long since?

Speaker 4 (11:54):
No, since last time seeing John Williams. Yeah, oh, I
only see you at the Hollywood Bowl.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
That's our place.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Can we just mention real quick how disappointing this year was?

Speaker 3 (12:09):
I know, Oh my gosh. My fiance was excited. She
know really who he was, but she knew the music
and when we told her he's going to play Harry Potter,
He's going to do it, don't worry. And he didn't.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Well, to be fair, he wasn't there. No, So apparently
John Williams is not doing so well physically. But David Newman,
who is a former guest on this podcast, just want
to plug that he composed that night, which was really cool,
but surprisingly not a lot of the John Williams bangers

(12:44):
that we are accustomed to hearing here.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Do you think there's a legal reason for that?

Speaker 2 (12:49):
No, Well, apparently John Williams curated the night. Yeah, and
he just decided, hey, no, Indiana Jones, no Jurassic Park, no,
no Harry Potter, and of course no hook.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
And for a while I wasn't even sure if they're
going to play any Star Wars songs.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
Yeah that way with the Star Wars.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Yeah, last year was.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Great with well I hadn't been to any others, but yeah,
that was the best. Yeah, that was great.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
Fates was great. That was my first time.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
We're gonna go again, right, even if he passes away,
this is like now a yearly tradition.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
Right, I'll do it again. Yeah, I like it.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
I'm down.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Yeah, yeah, but it was pretty disappointing.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
I was next to and we kept being like, Harry Potter,
is this it?

Speaker 4 (13:37):
Like every time She's like no.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
I think there was one time where we thought it
started with the chime and we looked at her like yeah, yeah,
and then it was.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
And then it was Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
I playing a lot of like weird stuff, like a
lot of They.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Did do the theme from the Olympics, which I thought.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Was cool because that was cool, and the NFL.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
In the NFL, and I think they did like he
did one for like news.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Oh yeah, the NBC, NBC.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
There was some interesting things a little bit, but I
would like kind of like, dude, where is like Headwig's theme?
I need this?

Speaker 2 (14:08):
But how about that cheeseboard? I made Hume.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
That was pretty good food. It was good and we
got to sit down at an actual table.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Oh gave it.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Its perfect for those who don't know about the Hollywood
Bowl and stuff. If the concert is through the La
Philharmonic and it's not like a least concert, you can
bring outside food in. So we were able to cheeses
and drinks. Yeah, so we I felt pretty good that night. Yeah,
that's pretty loose.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
It was interesting getting there. A bus driver was very interesting.

Speaker 5 (14:47):
Rolling down the window and talking to women or something.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
He was hollering at girls like, it's a coach bus, right,
So we take a bus from Pasadena over to Hollywood
because being in traffic and trying to parta it is
awful and you're gonna get triple park juple park. Anyway.
So this bus driver.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
And he is watching TV show, is watching.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
On on his phone in his lap, and these women
drive up next to us and we're on a coach
freaking bus. We're like in a huge bus. There's hundreds
of people in this bus and we were towards the friend.
He goes, hey, yo, you want to run yo, And
then he's like pointing you want to run? Like he
was serious, Like this guy is on the clock trying

to holler at girls in a coach bus.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
He was speeding too, and he was tailgating people and
flashing his lights.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
And I was like texting Max, like this guy is
driving crazy. We're gonna die. Yeah, it was good, Like
that was horrible. But I think what also made an
interesting experience. I guess that's the word I use, is
these people in front of us. You remember, like a
few rows, they just kept talking and talking and talking
and talking, laughing, and so I think that contributed to

the experience not being as great.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
This also, I was laughing so hard because those people
that you're talking about, they at one point started recording,
but it wasn't really recording.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
Was recorded, right, and it was we were dying.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
I couldn't stop laughing. I thought it was so funny.
They were just holding their phone up with no no
recording was happening.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
At all, and we're trying to be quiet because an orchestra. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
I was like, guys, shut up, we're trying to enjoy this. Show.
I was like, stop giving them attention. Yeah, that was
kind of annoying. I think next year we need a
splurge and just get there because I just like three
weeks ago, I went back to the Hollywood. I went

three times this year, which was kind of a lot.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
I've gone twice. I saw tea pain Yeah me too.
Yeah yeah, we saw yeah yeah yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Anyways, uh sprung. Oh so I saw the sound of
music and we were like down the front row, like
two sections down. It's a lot different. Yeah, sound urge
a little bit next year and get better seats.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
I think we always decide too late, too well, this year.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
We're doing it right.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
There. Yeah. I hope he's.

There maybe, and he's got to play Harry.

So to go back to the episodes, I saw on
the last one where all three.

Of us was featured. Okay, all right.

So the last one Chris was on was one the
one that we were all together was episode one, the
launch of season four.

Oh so out about what are.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
That was the one that after Shaky's we came to
my house and we rec oh, yeah that was fun
with the infamous.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Uh wasn't It wasn't Shaky's. It was Roundhouse.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Right, sorry, yeah, roundhouse, sorry, round table.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
That was so good.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
But that was remember Chelsea is a little Oh yeah,
that's right. Yes, that was probably the hardest I've ever
laughed recording.

I couldn't.

I tried to breathe.

That was fun.

in front of my house. I mean one guy basically
slept in front of my doors. Yeah, he was on
your ring camera. Yeah, and he left and left all

his drug paraphernalia on the floor there. Geez.

All right, So, like I said, there's no outlines, so
I don't know where this conversation is going or when
it will end, but we're on it for all of it.
We've already twenty minutes, which is longer than you expected. No,
the launch of season four, which is the last episode
we were on.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Okay, so let's do this.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
I'll start with Chris, since we haven't heard your voice
in a very long time. When you think of ready
to Retro and remember the very first episode was released
twenty zero. Yeah, episode zero twenty was May eighth, twenty twenty,
that's our anniversary. So when you think of all that,

(20:19):
what are some fond memories or what are some episodes
that stand out to you.

Speaker 3 (20:25):
I think the one that's always going to stand out
the most, and Chelsea knows is teen Wolf.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
I knew.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
Episode two only because it was such a weird, interesting time.
I mean, we're in the beginning of this pandemic still
and May. Yeah, so what that was like two months later? Yeah,
so we're in this thing and like there's you know,
we had some other previous things happened with our other project.

(20:56):
So Chelsea and I don't know, we just decided, you
know what we're going to We're gonna drink.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
I did too, Yeah, I had a frozen uh margarita. Yeah,
that was from San Diego. Like I went down to
San Diego, which you weren't supposed to do at the time,
but I didn't care. And it's like my favorite cantina.
They were doing to go and I brought it and
I froze it. It was a Margarita san Gria mix.

(21:23):
It's so I was.

Speaker 4 (21:24):
I was doing a lot of White Claws that evening.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
That's what I too, honestly.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
Were like on top.

Speaker 3 (21:31):
White Claw is not a sponsor of ours, but you
got me through that that pandemic. But I really cannot
drink a Seltzer again. I over drank. I think I
drank ten years worth in one like six months.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
You know, like non alcoholic beer is really popular now
with millennials because they drank themselves.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Yeah, I think the pandemic ruined Seltzer's for me. That
was my own choice. So what I remember about that episode,
I mean, like literally we were having a good time,
and I think it got to the point where I
don't even know what the hell we were talking about
because I was so Yeah, I think.

Speaker 5 (22:10):
I started to like not really realize, like I wasn't focused.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
I was like not sure what was going on, and
the next day I don't even remember what we talked about.
I think Max saved us in that episode. I think
we were going.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
Well, I was that's what That's not. Don't like Chelsea,
Like we were like, you know, Chelsea's like, you know
there's a new podcast, Max, I'm gonna lead it. I'm
gonna lead this one.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
You know.

I really liked Team Wolf and like it just did
halfway through I had to like sober up and be like,
all right, well, I guess I'm leading it now like
in mid But it's crazy, like I don't know what
it is. Like I could be feeling like good and
then I can step out of it like on a dime.
It's weird. It's weird.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
I can't, I can't but ready retro. Honestly, to me,
is just this friendships that we have, even though I've
been gone a year. Just love the relationships us three
have built together because we came from a previous project.

(23:19):
I didn't know Chelsea that well. Max invited me on
this previous thing that we did to like get my
mind off of a bad breakup and divorce and went through.
So this was my same place and I kind of
forgot that for a while. So yeah, I just I
just love you guys, and thankful for this friendship and podcast.

Ready to Retro, what are some fond memories or things
that fond memories?

Well, I do think of I do think of that
second episode that we tried.

To do so funny. We gotta listen to that. I
need to listen to it at the end of this episode.

and we'll we'll do our reaction on it.

we met test. I was Dean there that night, I
think was there.

like new people. And I didn't go to sleep till
four am because I was so wired like energy, like

So yeah, I mean, and it just continued, you know.
I Ready to Retro has been such a place where
I can have a creative outlet. But more than that,
like just connecting with people, and like this past weekend,

I was able to talk on a panel at La
Comic Con, like doing bucket list stuff like that. You know,
like I never thought I'd like one. I was like,
I don't really have much to say to people, like
who would want to come? And you know they didn't
come for me. I was gracious to be asked, you know,

there's things that this podcast has allowed me to experience
and to do that I would never thought I would do.
I never thought I would interview Power Rangers, like Power

sweet and she was like the awesome person. But I
was like, hey, can I get an interview with you?
She's like, yeah, come back in a few hours. She

final thoughts are, it's been an incredible two hundred episodes.
When we first started, it was more of just like, hey,

let's keep doing We enjoyed being around each other, like
hanging out, and then this pandemic happened, and then life.
You know, I think for all of us, life has
been so complicated from the ramifications of the world shutting
down and all the social things that have just shifted

and things like that. Like life has just been heavier
and harder. So for me personally, i'll speak on behalf
of myself, is that this podcast has just been you know,
not to be dramatic, but it's been like a lifesaver
in certain aspects. It's been a place where I could
you know, express myself, connect with people, and you know,

always love when the three of us get to do
it together, because that will always be what the core
of it is. I mean, we started episode zero and
that was always the attention. It was like the three
of us to do it. And I understand, like you know,
life happens and stuff. But when we are able for
all three of us to hang out, even if we're

always good time. So Chelsea just moved to La County
already so we can hang out more.
