Speaker 1 (00:04):
Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come. Turn your devices
to the maximum volume, sit back, relax, and let's get
Ready to retra.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Hey, everybody, welcome to episode two hundred of the Ready
to Retro podcast. We are interrupting Alien month. We've been
talking about aliens all October long, but we are stopping
it because I think Hell has frozen over. Because myself, Max,
(01:02):
the Duchess of Horror, Chelsea, and Chris are all recording
in one spot. What the hell is happening, my cousin, Chris,
you are back? What's up? Man?
Speaker 3 (01:12):
What's up? Missed you guys? Glad to be back, Glad
to see all these beautiful people here, you can see them. No,
I'm talking about YouTube.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Oh okay, okay, okay, all right, Well it's been a while, dude,
and we'll get back to that. But no episode of
Ready to Retro is complete, not just with you, Chris,
but the Duchess of Horror, Chelsea. Chelsea, welcome back to
Ready Red Show. You were just on a couple of
weeks ago, but you're back now.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
I was not that long ago. But this is crazy
to see both of you guys.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
On the other side.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
It's been a long time, guys. I'm trying.
Speaker 5 (01:53):
I don't even remember when was the last time I
talked just.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
To the two of you.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Yeah, I don't even.
Speaker 6 (02:00):
Vibes right, And I know this is like nostalgic in
a weird way. It is like even the way that
Chris and I are setting up. Chris is in my
my game room right now, And this is what we
used to do on our previous project too. Yeah, this
is how we used to record on the couch looking
at Chelsea and we.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Would always hear like Chris was like always door dashing
something I remember, like, oh my food.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
Oh yeah, you do a lot of that, I remember, yeah,
and uh. And it wouldn't be complete episode without Max
and I having issues. This time, we couldn't find the
headphone spitterer because it's been so long. Usually we're having
other technical issues. But it's not an episode unless we
have issues that are techn quality.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
I literally forgot how to set up with two people.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yeah. Max is looking so hard, and the headphone spider
was literally where he was looking. I was just like, dude,
it's right here, and I found it, like I think
one minute.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
The last time that all three of us recorded was
probably after we saw Coke came Bear. No way, do
you think that's it? I think that might be it.
But we were all in the same place. We were
all together at your house.
Speaker 5 (03:08):
Yeah, and then I think that's it.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
No way, okay.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
And that was like early twenty twenty three.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yeah, that was February twenty twenty three. Yeah, there's no
way it's been that long. Okay, let's see it all right,
let's just randomly go.
Speaker 5 (03:24):
A picture of that day popped up the other day and.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
I was like, oh, yeah, Chris. Were you on episode
one eighty eight of The Mask? No, okay, Chris? Were
you on episode one's seventy six, the twentieth anniversary of
euro Trip? Okay? Chris? Were you on episode one sixty
seven The Lord of the Rings Roundtable Conversation, Part two?
(03:47):
Chelsea was okay, Chris? Were you Did you do any
of last year's Nick November? No, Harriet the Spy, you
were not on Are You Afraid of the Dark Note?
Speaker 3 (03:57):
No, no, no, no.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
I'm going through okay, net We're in twenty twenty three now, so.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
I now I think I've been on it since. Uh,
it's our last project.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Okay, it's really, I didn't realize it was this long.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Day, did I? The time goes by too quickly and
don't want it to happen again.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
Okay, wait, oh, I found when when Chris was on
last when I was what I found when you were
on last bit, not when all three of us were.
You want to know when you were on the Drastic
Park Jurassic Park episode on the thirtieth anniversary of Jurassic
Park Park in June. I was on June twenty eighth,
twenty three, year and a half.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Yeah, I did get COVID early twenty twenty three, so
could have been a COVID time.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
I think you were sick or something something happened. Yeah, yeah, okay,
so that was the last. It's been over a year, dude.
It's been a year in like six months. No, a
year in like three months.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
Yeah, four months. Well, welcome back, thank you, Chris.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
Have you seen any movies this year?
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Chris? Have you seen any movies in the last year
and a half.
Speaker 5 (05:07):
I don't think so, Like in the theaters nothing.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
I saw the Prisoner of Azkaban. Indeed they did, you
know how they do the fan favorite five dollars?
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
So I went to that, But besides that, I haven't
seen anything.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
Like, no new movies or anything.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
No, you don't have a end list anymore.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
No, you see Dead Wolver.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
No, I haven't seen that either.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Guys, I've been going a lot the theater.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Yeah, it's been a year and whatever months of adulting.
It isn't always fun.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
I'm gonna see The Substance tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Oh man, my friend Justin saw that. He said it's gnarly.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
I can't wait.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
What eescuator?
Speaker 2 (05:48):
I was gonna say's that to a Demi Moore?
Speaker 3 (05:50):
And it's like a.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Body horror film?
Speaker 4 (05:53):
Oh yeah, it's really It's really gruesome.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
I think.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Yeah, it's supposed to be like but it's considered like
one of the best horror movies. Oh yeah, what's just
saying A lot.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
People are really liking it. I want to see The Joker,
but I don't know. But people are saying.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Oh good, have you seen the Tomatoes?
Speaker 3 (06:13):
I would just go with an open mind, because I've
read reviews before of movies that are supposed to be
terrible and they're not as bad. Maybe the expectations still
load actually be good.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
That's true. You never know, but I've been hearing. Yeah,
I've been hearing good things. Yis. I loved the first one.
I thought the first one was great.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Me too, And I want to see Megalois.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
I heard that's also not good.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
And I want to see my old ass.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
I want to see SNL.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
I want to see Saturday Night m h. I call yeah,
it's funny. Like Jasmine and I. We were in bed
and we were almost asleep, and then I was like, hey,
do you want to see my old ass on Monday night?
And she's like, what is this sleeper? She's laughing and
then I realized what I was saying out loud, right,
(07:05):
So we were laughing, and then I was like, no,
it's a movie my old ass. Do you want to
go see it with me? We didn't end up seeing it.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
So did she say you're not that old yet? No?
Speaker 2 (07:15):
She said, turnover, babe, I want to see your old ass. Ah. Okay,
so Chris.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
But I can't believe one now that we sit and
think about, it's been a year and some months and
I didn't see any movies.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
It's because you haven't been around.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Chelsea, and I no, but I used to.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Can we just say, like, where have you been? Just
if the listener is wondering right now, and for some
of you, you probably don't even know Chris, like for
real though, for real, though a year and a half
there's been new listeners. So let me start over, because
this is totally like off the cuff. There is no
outline like we usually do. We just literally press record.
(07:59):
So yes in the beginning of COVID, but we were
already planning this podcast before the world went to hell.
It was myself, Chris, my cousin, and our buddy Chills.
So Chris, you've been gone for a while. Where have
you been?
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (08:20):
I mean long story, short storytime with Christopher.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
I was a driving instructor and a full time Uber driver.
What so my fiance is from a small town in Mexico.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Wait, I didn't know that you were an Uber driver.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
No, no, no, no, you were always Oh I see, I say,
as she never learned to drive because she's from a
town of like three hundred people. So part of that time,
not all of it, I want to say, up until June,
(08:55):
she could not drive, so I would luckily my boss
let me come in early, leave early. Then I would
drive straight to her, go pick her up, and then
come back and then I would drive her to school,
wait at school, come back. So a lot of that
time I was doing a lot of driving and I
was exhausted. She felt really bad, but I didn't mind.
(09:17):
But you know, I'm a great teacher. She now has
her license and she could drive.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Well, it's great.
Speaker 4 (09:21):
When did she get her license.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Like the beginning of June that long? Yeah, and then
then I work for one of the branches of NASA,
and there was a lot of job uncertainty that started
like in May, so literally like right after she got
her license, I was how do you say it? I
(09:44):
was in a deep depression, so I didn't do much.
I was in bed stress all the time. And you
could ask my fiance was she was pretty scared for
some time.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
But you know, you're making this sound really depressed, but
it's the truth.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
No, No, I think it was more stress and anxiety
type of thing. So I guess the term depression isn't
the right one. But when I'm like a stressed out person,
I am in bed, sure, I'm eating, and this is that.
So this past year was pretty hard. I think I
should have dealt with it differently by using different outputs,
(10:24):
like max suggested to me at times. One time, just
coming onto the podcast, I didn't do it, and but
you know, I got through it. I have job security
and life's good, and I don't think you're happy. This
should be based on having a job.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
Well, and the good news is you're getting married.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
I am getting married.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
I don't think people know that you were even in
a relationship.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
I mentioned it like a year and a half ago,
but that's when I was last on.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
I'm trying to think. I don't remember if you were
mentioned that you were going back and forth for Mexico.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
I think I said that my fiance really liked Harry
Potter because we talked about it a long time ago.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Yeah, okay, but yeah, so you've just been really focusing
on your relationship, your job, and life's life.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
Unfortunately, I mean not unfortunately for the relationship, but I
realized after all this that jobs should not control how
your happiness. So being serious, yeah, yeah, so, but life's good.
Talking to therapists now, I've been happier than I ever
have in a long time, trying to break out and
(11:36):
do bigger and better things for me to yeah, well,
at least my mind saying it was great.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
To see you and Lupita when we went to see
John Williams when Williams wasn't there.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
But that was the last time we saw each other, right, yeah,
all three of us, and then Chelsea, that was the
first time you saw Chris And how long since?
Speaker 4 (11:54):
No, since last time seeing John Williams. Yeah, oh, I
only see you at the Hollywood Bowl.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
That's our place.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Can we just mention real quick how disappointing this year was?
Speaker 3 (12:09):
I know, Oh my gosh. My fiance was excited. She
know really who he was, but she knew the music
and when we told her he's going to play Harry Potter,
He's going to do it, don't worry. And he didn't.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Well, to be fair, he wasn't there. No, So apparently
John Williams is not doing so well physically. But David Newman,
who is a former guest on this podcast, just want
to plug that he composed that night, which was really cool,
but surprisingly not a lot of the John Williams bangers
(12:44):
that we are accustomed to hearing here.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
Do you think there's a legal reason for that?
Speaker 2 (12:49):
No, Well, apparently John Williams curated the night. Yeah, and
he just decided, hey, no, Indiana Jones, no Jurassic Park, no,
no Harry Potter, and of course no hook.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
And for a while I wasn't even sure if they're
going to play any Star Wars songs.
Speaker 4 (13:07):
Yeah that way with the Star Wars.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Yeah, last year was.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Great with well I hadn't been to any others, but yeah,
that was the best. Yeah, that was great.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
Fates was great. That was my first time.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
We're gonna go again, right, even if he passes away,
this is like now a yearly tradition.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
Right, I'll do it again. Yeah, I like it.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
I'm down.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Yeah, yeah, but it was pretty disappointing.
Speaker 5 (13:32):
I was next to and we kept being like, Harry Potter,
is this it?
Speaker 4 (13:37):
Like every time She's like no.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
I think there was one time where we thought it
started with the chime and we looked at her like yeah, yeah,
and then it was.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
And then it was Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
I playing a lot of like weird stuff, like a
lot of They.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
Did do the theme from the Olympics, which I thought.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Was cool because that was cool, and the NFL.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
In the NFL, and I think they did like he
did one for like news.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Oh yeah, the NBC, NBC.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
There was some interesting things a little bit, but I
would like kind of like, dude, where is like Headwig's theme?
I need this?
Speaker 2 (14:08):
But how about that cheeseboard? I made Hume.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
That was pretty good food. It was good and we
got to sit down at an actual table.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
Oh gave it.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Its perfect for those who don't know about the Hollywood
Bowl and stuff. If the concert is through the La
Philharmonic and it's not like a least concert, you can
bring outside food in. So we were able to cheeses
and drinks. Yeah, so we I felt pretty good that night. Yeah,
that's pretty loose.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
It was interesting getting there. A bus driver was very interesting.
Speaker 5 (14:47):
Rolling down the window and talking to women or something.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
He was hollering at girls like, it's a coach bus, right,
So we take a bus from Pasadena over to Hollywood
because being in traffic and trying to parta it is
awful and you're gonna get triple park juple park. Anyway.
So this bus driver.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
And he is watching TV show, is watching.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
On on his phone in his lap, and these women
drive up next to us and we're on a coach
freaking bus. We're like in a huge bus. There's hundreds
of people in this bus and we were towards the friend.
He goes, hey, yo, you want to run yo, And
then he's like pointing you want to run? Like he
was serious, Like this guy is on the clock trying
(15:32):
to holler at girls in a coach bus.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
He was speeding too, and he was tailgating people and
flashing his lights.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
And I was like texting Max, like this guy is
driving crazy. We're gonna die. Yeah, it was good, Like
that was horrible. But I think what also made an
interesting experience. I guess that's the word I use, is
these people in front of us. You remember, like a
few rows, they just kept talking and talking and talking
and talking, laughing, and so I think that contributed to
(16:06):
the experience not being as great.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
This also, I was laughing so hard because those people
that you're talking about, they at one point started recording,
but it wasn't really recording.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Was recorded, right, and it was we were dying.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
I couldn't stop laughing. I thought it was so funny.
They were just holding their phone up with no no
recording was happening.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
At all, and we're trying to be quiet because an orchestra. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
I was like, guys, shut up, we're trying to enjoy this. Show.
I was like, stop giving them attention. Yeah, that was
kind of annoying. I think next year we need a
splurge and just get there because I just like three
weeks ago, I went back to the Hollywood. I went
(16:58):
three times this year, which was kind of a lot.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
I've gone twice. I saw tea pain Yeah me too.
Yeah yeah, we saw yeah yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
Anyways, uh sprung. Oh so I saw the sound of
music and we were like down the front row, like
two sections down. It's a lot different. Yeah, sound urge
a little bit next year and get better seats.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
I think we always decide too late, too well, this year.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
We're doing it right.
Speaker 4 (17:33):
There. Yeah. I hope he's.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
There maybe, and he's got to play Harry.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
So to go back to the episodes, I saw on
the last one where all three.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Of us was featured. Okay, all right.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
So the last one Chris was on was one the
one that we were all together was episode one, the
launch of season four.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
Oh so out about what are.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
That was the one that after Shaky's we came to
my house and we rec oh, yeah that was fun
with the infamous.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Uh wasn't It wasn't Shaky's. It was Roundhouse.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Right, sorry, yeah, roundhouse, sorry, round table.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
That was so good.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
But that was remember Chelsea is a little Oh yeah,
that's right. Yes, that was probably the hardest I've ever
laughed recording.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
I couldn't.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
I tried to breathe.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
That was fun.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
Good time. If you don't If you don't know, go
back to episode one.
Speaker 5 (18:38):
I think you were playing Twisted Metal that day.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
To right, yeah, Twisted Medal three. It was a good time.
We got to hang out more, guys.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
Let's do it. Make the way to the I mean
from the to the valley.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Chelsea, I'm just waiting for you to move here.
Speaker 4 (18:55):
You know, I don't think she's ever gonna pull up
my tent in your back.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
Well, it's actually a very normal thing. I mean, yeah,
put your ten on the sidewalk and.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
You can come visit me anytime.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
You're so topical, Chris, Yeah, I mean people do it
in front of my house. I mean one guy basically
slept in front of my doors. Yeah, he was on
your ring camera. Yeah, and he left and left all
(19:30):
his drug paraphernalia on the floor there. Geez.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
All right, So, like I said, there's no outlines, so
I don't know where this conversation is going or when
it will end, but we're on it for all of it.
We've already twenty minutes, which is longer than you expected. No,
the launch of season four, which is the last episode
we were on.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Okay, so let's do this.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
I'll start with Chris, since we haven't heard your voice
in a very long time. When you think of ready
to Retro and remember the very first episode was released
twenty zero. Yeah, episode zero twenty was May eighth, twenty twenty,
that's our anniversary. So when you think of all that,
(20:19):
what are some fond memories or what are some episodes
that stand out to you.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
I think the one that's always going to stand out
the most, and Chelsea knows is teen Wolf.
Speaker 4 (20:30):
I knew.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
Episode two only because it was such a weird, interesting time.
I mean, we're in the beginning of this pandemic still
and May. Yeah, so what that was like two months later? Yeah,
so we're in this thing and like there's you know,
we had some other previous things happened with our other project.
(20:56):
So Chelsea and I don't know, we just decided, you
know what we're going to We're gonna drink.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
I did too, Yeah, I had a frozen uh margarita. Yeah,
that was from San Diego. Like I went down to
San Diego, which you weren't supposed to do at the time,
but I didn't care. And it's like my favorite cantina.
They were doing to go and I brought it and
I froze it. It was a Margarita san Gria mix.
(21:23):
It's so I was.
Speaker 4 (21:24):
I was doing a lot of White Claws that evening.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
That's what I too, honestly.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Were like on top.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
White Claw is not a sponsor of ours, but you
got me through that that pandemic. But I really cannot
drink a Seltzer again. I over drank. I think I
drank ten years worth in one like six months.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
You know, like non alcoholic beer is really popular now
with millennials because they drank themselves.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
Yeah, I think the pandemic ruined Seltzer's for me. That
was my own choice. So what I remember about that episode,
I mean, like literally we were having a good time,
and I think it got to the point where I
don't even know what the hell we were talking about
because I was so Yeah, I think.
Speaker 5 (22:10):
I started to like not really realize, like I wasn't focused.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
I was like not sure what was going on, and
the next day I don't even remember what we talked about.
I think Max saved us in that episode. I think
we were going.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
Well, I was that's what That's not. Don't like Chelsea,
Like we were like, you know, Chelsea's like, you know
there's a new podcast, Max, I'm gonna lead it. I'm
gonna lead this one.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
You know.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
I really liked Team Wolf and like it just did
halfway through I had to like sober up and be like,
all right, well, I guess I'm leading it now like
in mid But it's crazy, like I don't know what
it is. Like I could be feeling like good and
then I can step out of it like on a dime.
It's weird. It's weird.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
I can't, I can't but ready retro. Honestly, to me,
is just this friendships that we have, even though I've
been gone a year. Just love the relationships us three
have built together because we came from a previous project.
(23:19):
I didn't know Chelsea that well. Max invited me on
this previous thing that we did to like get my
mind off of a bad breakup and divorce and went through.
So this was my same place and I kind of
forgot that for a while. So yeah, I just I
just love you guys, and thankful for this friendship and podcast.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
We need the full help.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
We love you too.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
Thank you, guys.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
See the thing that people don't know about Chris is
he's a softie.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
I am a very softy. I'm a crier too.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
You didn't have to tell that. You didn't have to.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
I'm just kidding, doing fun of me, or.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
I don't make it funny. Be in touch with your emotions,
that's you.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
Hell, yeah, it's good to cry.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Uh so, yeah, I mean you're a big softy and
it's it's good. I like it. I missed you, dude,
I really do like this. This feels nostalgia, but it almost.
Speaker 4 (24:15):
Feels it feels it's good.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
It feels like this.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
It is October, so this is the ghost of talking
on the podcast. What's her name? Orange Vitamin?
Speaker 2 (24:38):
And then it was that every graduation growing up? Yeah,
bod riddance.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Oh yeah, good riddance. That's yeah, I forgot that was
the name of I'm pretty sure my iPod. It was
the final name was called The Time of your Life?
Speaker 2 (24:55):
Do you have the time of your life?
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Yeah? So far? F so so far.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
All right, Chelse, what about you when you think of
Ready to Retro, what are some fond memories or things
that fond memories?
Speaker 4 (25:08):
Well, I do think of I do think of that
second episode that we tried.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
To do so funny. We gotta listen to that. I
need to listen to it at the end of this episode.
Let's just like listen to the beginning of it especially,
and we'll we'll do our reaction on it.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
I need to listen to that first episode two. I
bet it's such like a time capsule of pandemic, like
early pandemic time, but I don't know.
Speaker 5 (25:34):
And then the next thing I think about is our
interview with Kurt Fuller.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
That was yeah, so good?
Speaker 4 (25:40):
That was that was I want to.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
Say, like twenty twenty one or twenty twenty two.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
Or something like that.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
I could believe that he even said I don't even
know why I'm on this podcast, to be honest.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
Basically, I'll never forget him saying that, being like, hey,
why did you do this? And he's like, I don't
even know why I'm doing this.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
Basically we caught him on a good day.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
Really, I think so, because probably like one of the
bigger names that we've had on the podcast, and I
always really liked him because of the movies he was in. Yeah,
so I really cherish that episode. I also really liked
talking to Justin Shankro. That was really cool.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
It was episode.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
Any episode where he's on is really great because I've
always really liked your Indiana So, like, I don't know
the opportunity well Max thankful to Max is Max is
the one that goes and gets these interviews for us
and finds these people, and so that's always been just
so cool.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Just persistent and always trying, never giving up.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
Max will like send me.
Speaker 5 (26:50):
He'll be like I'm I'm gonna try to do this,
and I'm like, no, I don't think that's gonna work.
He's like it anyway, and then.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
He's like, guess what.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
He's like, guess never doubt me again.
Speaker 5 (27:04):
SERI, I don't doubt I don't doubt Max that much anymore.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
That much, she just said, not that much, not that
much anymore, I Chelsea to a believer.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
Well, I feel like maxed outed himself along a lot too.
I did doubt myself in the beginning.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
I was just nervous at first, Like now I don't.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
Like you know, if it's no, it's no.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
Like to ask people why I interview them, No to
ask people, I know you've always been. I don't get
nervous said all anymore, like I guess I used to.
But I just really got over that quickly because it
was like, Okay, the worst thing they can say is no,
and if they say no, then okay.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
So if that's the worst thing is like no, ok yeah,
and if you don't ask, then it's definitely no.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
Exactly. So the Kurt Fuller episode was in tandem with
Our Wayne's World thirtieth anniversary. It was episode eighty six.
It was February eighteenth, twenty twenty two.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
We got that on thirtieth anniversary too. That's crazy.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
Yeah, yeah, that's pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
How about the people we've met over the years.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
We've met a lot of cool people. We have a
lot of a lot of friends. I mean, we met tests.
I know, I haven't seen her in a long time.
Speaker 2 (28:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
Two podcasting.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
I couldn't even tell you record No, I they came
over here, but I just don't have a feeling.
Speaker 5 (28:38):
Probably was it maybe my birthday? Maybe the karaoke one?
Speaker 3 (28:43):
When was the escape room that was before that, so
probably karaoke.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
Karaoke.
Speaker 5 (28:49):
I did a karaoke birthday my last birthday, year before
year before.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Last, that was twenty twenty three.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
Oh, I had to be I don't know.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
I was so disappointed that you didn't do that again
this year. I was like looking forward to it. Yeah,
well but your birthday is coming up, so you know,
technically it was this year.
Speaker 5 (29:11):
You know, Yeah, we could do it again.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
It could maybe in January.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
Yeah, kind of, we'll put.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
T Yeah, in January. I think we should do.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
At that place my sister had. She had like a
giant It was in town. Yeah, that place is cool,
but you couldn't wear hats.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
You know, you go into a place and you have
to go through security, a.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
Lot of das, and you can't wear hats.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Yeah, because.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
Like the one in s.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
What is it, Santa Anita, you can't wear No, that's
an Arcadia dude.
Speaker 4 (29:53):
Watch I don't know anything about gangs.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Excuse them. He started to watch your the Ready to
Retro game.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
That's true gang a gang. So yeah, I mean obviously
tests would be like one of the premier people. I mean,
it would be so hard to like name everybody.
Speaker 4 (30:13):
I'm gonna say some names.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
Ye say some names, Joy Joey, Joey Joe.
Speaker 5 (30:17):
Yeah, we've had on multiple times that we talked.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
We've talked to them all the time.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
Prime.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
You know, we've had him on stuff.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
So our buddy Zach and Dustin from two Dollar Lafy.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
I know.
Speaker 4 (30:28):
I girl, that's scary.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
Girl, that's scary.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
Oh. I don't think I ever got on a podcast
with them. I think I always had missed them when
we had them on.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
It's because we would always record during like October September,
you were deep in Dodger yes, which, by the way,
we know this is a huge deal that Chris is
here right now. Say sorry, Like the Dodgers are playing
right now, playoff base.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Thirty minutes into the game.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
Chris usually does not watch games on and you know,
delay record I do sometimes, like I you know, if
that's the only way that I'm going to watch it,
I'll do it.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
Max. Max texts me saying, oh, the Dodger games on Tuesday.
Is that gonna be a problem. Oh man, I thought
about it for like.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
But what was funny was that Chris, you were the
one that threw this date out. So we were locked in.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
Yeah, so I thought about it, and I'm like, I'm
not going to cancel on them. I will watch a
delayed game so you guys, because I miss you so
and plus I'm not going to do next listit there.
But if the Dodgers, okay, I know, I'm just we're
just just the last I won't get into. The last
(31:45):
game they played was just awful.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
Dodger.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
But that's not why even if they did well, I
would be here.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Okay, wow, So yeah, I guess my perspective is a
little diffen. I kept this train going. Uh it was
something that you know, how do I say this? So
like I'm in a new job. I haven't said what
I do because there's you know, yeah, yeah, I just
(32:18):
throw money at them. So in detail, I don't know.
It's like, hey, if you like DM me and say hey,
what do you do, I'll probably tell you. But you know,
just my personal life, I will expose what I want.
And but anyways, so I'm in a new job now.
My last job it was really like a vocation. It
was more more than a job.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
It was like.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
My life basically, like I worked a lot and you know,
it was community minded, it was mission minded. It was
like there was just there was a cause for it, right,
So but it took a lot, and it took a
lot of time, and really Ready to Retro was a
place where I could just wine and connect. I'm an
(33:02):
extreme extrovert. So I remember Chelse the what was that
like week one or two of the pandemic when it
was like still fun, remember that, like people were having
like play jack box on like it was fun, and
it was like the blast from our past network with
(33:24):
Adam and John and we met them from our previous
podcast and they had this network. That's the first time
we met test. I was Dean there that night, I
think was there.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
Doing something else.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
I don't know, so so Chelsea and I just remember
that was like the first interaction I had with people,
like new people. And I didn't go to sleep till
four am because I was so wired like energy, like
people energy, and I was like, oh my gosh, like
I haven't been around people for three weeks other than
(34:01):
my sister, my dad and my wife, Like I needed that.
So yeah, I mean, and it just continued, you know.
I Ready to Retro has been such a place where
I can have a creative outlet. But more than that,
like just connecting with people, and like this past weekend,
(34:23):
I was able to talk on a panel at La
Comic Con, like doing bucket list stuff like that. You know,
like I never thought I'd like one. I was like,
I don't really have much to say to people, like
who would want to come? And you know they didn't
come for me. I was gracious to be asked, you know,
shout out to our buddy Zach on two dollars late
(34:46):
fee in podcasting after Dark. But yeah, it's just like
there's things that this podcast has allowed me to experience
and to do that I would never thought I would do.
I never thought I would interview Power Rangers, like Power
Rangers were so huge. Like to interview Karen Ashley, who
(35:06):
played Ayesha the Yellow Ranger, blew my mind. She's so
sweet and she was like the awesome person. But I
was like, hey, can I get an interview with you?
She's like, yeah, come back in a few hours. She
gave me a six minute interview Like things like that.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
A long interview right now.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
Yeah, Like I just it blows my mind just the
things that I've been able to do, Chelsea were just
on the beetle juice, beetlejuice, but like talking with Nick
Cowen and like, you know, here's a kid that was
on a movie that I used to watch as a
as a kid, Surf Ninjas, and here we are like
talking about Beetlejuice together. You know, it's just like stuff
(35:42):
like that. I never thought I would ever do go
to C tow E two for the main reason like
if I didn't know Joey, I wouldn't have gone to
C tow E two. But I went to C to
E two. I roomed with Tim tmnt plus you know,
like he was a total stranger. But we were in
you know, South Chicago in the hood and this airbnb.
(36:03):
So it's just been it's been fun. It's been an
awesome ride.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
Yeah, you got that really good friend Joey out of
this whole thing. You guys are pretty close.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
Right, I mean as close as we can be. We
always say like, if we were closer, you'd hang out.
We would, Yeah, a good guy.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
You guys aren't going to be flying to each other
every other week. Probably not.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
You know, he always says, man, I'd live in LA
you can't afford I'm like, dude, I'm not going to Chicago.
It was way too cold to go to Chicago. Yeah, like,
you got to come out here. I love you, bro,
but I ain't going to Chicago.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
I love Chicago to visit. I got stuck there one winter.
I'm a way back from cold ass Boston. I got
stuck there for a full day because I think there
are high winds and they couldn't fly. It is cold.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
Yeah, dude, I was there in April, and I remember
it was thirty two degrees. When I got off the plane,
I was like, Joey, how do you like. He's like, dude,
I'm so sorry. It doesn't get this like it's it's
been so hot. Of course, it's the day that you
get in thirty two degrees. I was like, I was
in shorts and like a teacher. I was like, I
don't have a jacket. I have a sweatshirt. He's like, no,
(37:10):
it's gonna warm up. Don't worry. Don't worry, like I
thought I was gonna die. But yeah, it's his experience
and now like cons are so much fun because I
get to meet people like uh Noah Baron who was
on Poweringers and YouTube. Seen him a couple of times
at Power More for con mk cohn who has an
(37:32):
awesome like horror spooky EP right now, shout out to him. Yeah,
it's awesome, isn't it. Yeah, And one of those is
our spooky oultra. So there you go. I met him
this past weekend, got to meet Carlos the Nostalgia Latinos
(37:53):
and uh Leon Lee Boy TV. Uh So yeah, it's
just it's been good, like the community has been in
the highlight of this ready to Retro journey. It can be.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
I think it's like hard to meet friends when you're
as you're getting older, and podcasting is definitely a way
to do it. It's to make friends, so.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
Yeah, to be people who have common interests exactly.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
Yeah, this I think Ray Ritro is great for me
because I'm not like fully I don't I'm not fully introverted,
and I let you know, like I am a little
bit extroverted, but I have to be pushed.
Speaker 3 (38:33):
It's pushed me to like be social butter.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
Yeah, to push a.
Speaker 4 (38:37):
Little bit to being more social, being more actually worded,
talking to people I normally wouldn't talk to.
Speaker 5 (38:44):
Uh, you know, it's hard for me sometimes, but I
it's fun.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Well, it's funny, is that the first time I met
it was on our previous project. Yeah, and we were
past you and I at Long Beach Comic Con. Yeah,
to interview people, and you were like, I don't know
you did it. Yeah, we were like, what twenty five,
(39:12):
twenty six?
Speaker 4 (39:13):
At the time, I was, yeah, twenty five or twenty six.
It is so hard.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
Do you still have this podcast? I want to hear
Chelsea interviewing people.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
No, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
You don't know if it's on the internet still.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
This sky was released on that, but I don't know.
I already deleted.
Speaker 4 (39:27):
I don't know what happened to you.
Speaker 5 (39:28):
I never saw it, and I'm kind of glad because
I feel like I did terrible.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
No, you did fine. I mean it's funny because like
even when we had the media pass for Midsummer, I
was like, Chelsea, want to do an interview. You're like, no,
come on to an interview. Honestly, you're good at it.
Speaker 4 (39:45):
Though it's tough. Oh my god, it's oh my gosh,
it's interesting anxiety. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Chelsea is shy. She can be, but when it comes
to this stuff, when she really gets into something and
that all goes away.
Speaker 2 (39:59):
Yeah, when you get about something you can't get you. Yeah,
all right, settle down, Chelsea. All right, Yes, we know
you like wax museums. Okay, love your chill, But yeah,
I think that was kind.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
Of the.
Speaker 2 (40:19):
The motivation of creating Ready to Retro is we wanted
to have kind of autonomy, and we wanted something that
the three of us could just have ownership over and
something that was really like ours and seeing it from
its infancy to what it is now. So yeah, it's
been it's been a lot of fun. It's been. It's
(40:41):
been great.
Speaker 3 (40:43):
It's been amazing. And seeing where this is gone, Max,
I mean, we have to give it to you too.
You really made this thing go above and beyond whatever
expected it to be. Max keeps not that I ever doubted.
Speaker 4 (40:57):
Yeah, he keeps the engine running. Yeah, and sometimes me
and Chris.
Speaker 5 (41:01):
Hop in the car.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
Yes, he does the hard work, which I appreciate and
we benefit from that. I guess we're I'm here, I'm here,
and you got our special guest Chelsea on so there
you go, so special.
Speaker 2 (41:21):
So special. So yeah, So is there any other like
just interviews or any other episodes that were like a
lot of fun come to mind? I think one of
the moments with Chris early on when you said Chimney.
That was so early on first couple.
Speaker 3 (41:39):
Episodes, Chimney, stupid fucking kid. He came down with Chimney.
He came down to Chimney. We fact checked that he
did not come down to chim He walked by Chimney.
Speaker 5 (41:53):
Then he's like on the mantle of a fireplace.
Speaker 3 (41:58):
We should do an episode and we should name it
review of Chimney Cricket. You mean Pinocchio cricket.
Speaker 2 (42:04):
Is Yimy cricket?
Speaker 3 (42:08):
I mean he's a cricket and there's a scene where
he walks about Chimney. I know it for sure.
Speaker 2 (42:15):
Okay, So because we're almost at an hour now, but
what are some things as we move forward? Like, yeah,
I guess for you, Chris, like I know you've been
super busy and things like that, and it's you know,
totally understandable and you're creating a new life. You're soon
to be wife and all that good stuff. But like,
(42:36):
you know, what do you hope for ready retro and
your involvement moving forward?
Speaker 3 (42:42):
I hope to do a bunch of Chris movies.
Speaker 2 (42:48):
Oh, you know, gone for a year. What was the
last Chris movie.
Speaker 3 (42:55):
I was looking through Christmas every day.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
Uh, probly did we do Deedles on this one? Yes,
we did meet the deals. We did both, but I
wish I had.
Speaker 5 (43:06):
I want to do the sticker with Chris, like Chris
approved Chris movie.
Speaker 3 (43:13):
The one I've wanted to do for a very long
time is Gone Fishing with Joe Pesci and what's the
other guy's name?
Speaker 2 (43:22):
I've never.
Speaker 3 (43:25):
Because those are amazing actors, and I used to love
that movie, but I think about it now and I
feel like it's a Deedles type.
Speaker 2 (43:32):
Didn't you say what's the long with Martin Short? And
he looks like, oh, Clifford, Oh, I love Clifford.
Speaker 4 (43:37):
We have to do cliff me too.
Speaker 3 (43:39):
I love I think Max hates it, and it's it's
the step Brothers is like his love.
Speaker 4 (43:49):
It's Charles Groad.
Speaker 5 (43:50):
I talk about Clifford probably once a week. I like it,
you do not I do, because Arianna loves Clifford and
we talk about it all the time.
Speaker 4 (43:58):
And we went to Delusion and actually the building that
they used for Delusion this year was the orphanage in
the movie Clifford.
Speaker 3 (44:07):
Really no, I would love to review that movie. We
have to do Chelsea and I love it. I haven't
seen it in probably twenty.
Speaker 4 (44:17):
Plus scene Chris, I haven't seen it in so long.
Speaker 3 (44:20):
What movies would I do?
Speaker 2 (44:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (44:22):
I would do Clifford Gunfishing.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
There's the Infamous, which we haven't done on this Oh,
with the kiss.
Speaker 3 (44:32):
With the kids with blank chick, Oh, blank check? Yes,
you know something funny about blank check. It is now
recently being posted a ton on social media.
Speaker 4 (44:43):
You were the first one to Yeah, and we were
talking about it before that.
Speaker 3 (44:48):
We were talking about it way before that. Yeah, I
would love.
Speaker 2 (44:50):
To do blank plus. First we couldn't watch.
Speaker 3 (44:54):
Yeah, we watched like one of the first things I
watched it. I watched it. I was like, oh my god.
I was like, this eleven year old is kissing a
like a thirty year old actress. But it's not like
they even like hinted at that it was gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
Yes, it's kissing. So why were they roller blade Brink?
Speaker 4 (45:18):
Yeah? Did you guys do Brink?
Speaker 2 (45:19):
You have not talking about I feel like that's a
Chris movie.
Speaker 3 (45:24):
Saw that, Chris Chan, Did you.
Speaker 2 (45:27):
Do Disney Channel a lot?
Speaker 3 (45:28):
I didn't want I didn't I watched Nickelodeon.
Speaker 2 (45:31):
So, how did you watch Christmas every Day? ABC Family?
Speaker 3 (45:34):
Yeah, when they did the what Twelve Days of.
Speaker 4 (45:37):
Christmas, Wonderful World of Disney probably I bet blank Check?
Maybe did the blank Check.
Speaker 2 (45:44):
Gone Fishing?
Speaker 4 (45:46):
Clifford.
Speaker 3 (45:46):
Clifford.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
I kind of mentioned when we did Angry Old Men
and you never I love that movie.
Speaker 3 (45:55):
And then it was actually the odd couple of you know.
Speaker 2 (45:57):
I love this movie, and then I was like, so, Chris,
we record that. Chris, you requested this. Tell me why
do you love this? Week? You go, I got the
wrong movie. I've never seen this movie.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
Honestly, a movie I've never seen that I would love
to do. I can cut it. If not is good fellas,
I've never seen it.
Speaker 2 (46:20):
We have not done that yet.
Speaker 4 (46:22):
I don't think.
Speaker 3 (46:23):
I hear so many good things about it, and I
feel like having fresh eyes and just singing that for
the first time. Pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
Yeah, I've held off on Sandlot.
Speaker 3 (46:34):
We did that in the previous project. That was the
first one I did. I think it one of I
don't know if we have access to the previous project.
Speaker 2 (46:43):
Chelsea. Was that the one time that you ever did
that or saw that movie?
Speaker 4 (46:48):
Yeah, I don't think I never really seen the Sandlot
until we did that for you.
Speaker 3 (46:53):
Oh, thank you, I'm here, Hi, Jesus, the Boys of
Summer is about to come to and then.
Speaker 2 (46:59):
Come in sand Lot for you.
Speaker 3 (47:01):
Blank check, I said, I said, good fellows.
Speaker 2 (47:05):
Okay, all right, Chelse, what you want to review?
Speaker 3 (47:12):
Oh my god, I think you are actually signing a
spoken contract.
Speaker 2 (47:21):
Right now I would like to do.
Speaker 4 (47:25):
And it came out I think this or it came
out it's anniversary, I think is this year. But Edwood,
I don't know if you guys like that movie, but
it's a really good movie. It's a Tim Burton movie.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
Yeah, it's a biopic of Edward the director, sorry, Johnny Depp,
And it's basically The Plan I from Outer Space.
Speaker 4 (47:49):
I've always really liked that movie a lot. That's actually
always been one of my favorite movies. Actually, I think
hold On. I went onto the letterbox the other day
and made like my favorite movie. I was bored, so
I did like my favorite movies of all time or something.
So let's see what I put on that list. I
put on their uh, Back to the Future, Labyrinth, Edward Beetlejuice,
(48:12):
Fright Night, The Shining Dracula, hoax focus. We've done a
lot of these. Did we do pee means the big image?
Speaker 2 (48:18):
We have not done that.
Speaker 4 (48:19):
I'd love adventure.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
Yeah, you know what else I would love to add?
I used to watch the Ernest movies too.
Speaker 4 (48:28):
Ernest Scared Stupid.
Speaker 2 (48:30):
I have that movie. I've never watched it.
Speaker 3 (48:33):
I liked that movie because there were a ton of
Earnest movies. There was only like one I've seen.
Speaker 2 (48:37):
Did not watch.
Speaker 4 (48:38):
I did what? I watched the Ernest movie to Ernest
Saved Christmas and Ernest Scared Stupid, the Holiday ones. I
did a lot.
Speaker 3 (48:46):
Whatever happened to that guy he passed?
Speaker 4 (48:48):
He passed away?
Speaker 3 (48:49):
Like? Is that why? When though he passed away?
Speaker 4 (48:53):
Like in two thousand one? Yeah, okay, he's original Slinky
Dog and then they changed him out with the got It,
the guy that was in Boy Meets It's All. I remember,
he's the dad.
Speaker 2 (49:05):
Oh right, yeah?
Speaker 3 (49:07):
And what about you, Max? What are your top four.
Speaker 2 (49:12):
Movies? I think?
Speaker 3 (49:13):
Well?
Speaker 2 (49:15):
I thought that this past year we were gonna be
able to have a studio that fell through, which sucked,
but I was super excited for that. I would love
for this show, for this podcast to have more of
a video element, I've been sitting on a bunch of
interviews and they kind of get lost in our reels.
(49:39):
So I want to like repost them on her YouTube.
I want to get that going for you know past.
You know, yeah, yeah, so you know I've been putting
the interviews that I've been doing on there. We do,
I'll be honest. We do a lot of editing audio wise,
so it's hard to put that on the video. Sometimes
(50:03):
it would just bet And when you say.
Speaker 3 (50:05):
We, you mean Max, what do you mean, Max? Men's
a ton of time editing. I mean I I helped
you do a few on the previous project. It's a lot.
Speaker 2 (50:16):
No, you didn't do anyone ready to retro.
Speaker 3 (50:18):
I might have in the beginning, probably during COVID, I
think I did something.
Speaker 4 (50:21):
Yeah, I want to say you did do a couple,
because I remember you guys talking about that.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
So i've yeah, I've edited probably one hundred and probably
one hundred and eighty.
Speaker 3 (50:34):
No, you didn't do twenty okay, one hundred and ninety five.
You did not do twenty one hundred and ninety five,
probably more like.
Speaker 2 (50:44):
One hundred and ninety de be you know. So, Yeah,
as far as movies goes, what are ones that still
haven't to I mean, Stanlot's a big one that I
was thinking about.
Speaker 4 (50:58):
I'd like you smore Tarantino movies. We only did Kill Bill.
Speaker 2 (51:02):
We need to do and for whatever reason, that was
one of our most downloaded episodes.
Speaker 4 (51:08):
So we should do Kill Bill Part two or some
other Tarantino movies.
Speaker 2 (51:12):
Yeah, maybe three.
Speaker 3 (51:14):
I can't Kill Bill so long, probably since they were
in theater.
Speaker 2 (51:18):
Is there ever gonna be a three?
Speaker 4 (51:20):
No? No, it was talked about, but it just never.
Speaker 3 (51:23):
They should everybody nowadays.
Speaker 2 (51:27):
I would do from Dust Still.
Speaker 4 (51:29):
I love that. Yeah, that would be a great one
to do.
Speaker 3 (51:32):
Did we do the good Son on this one? We
need to do the good Son?
Speaker 2 (51:36):
I would do that.
Speaker 3 (51:37):
That's don't fuck with me.
Speaker 2 (51:40):
I told you guys when I met Elijah Wood at
Comic com last year, I took a picture with him
and I whispered in his ear because I was like
behind him, and I was like, I'm here because I'm
a big fan of the good Son kind of I
can tell you like, I thought it was cool. So yeah,
(52:01):
I you know, whenever the wind blows, because I don't
really know. We've we've covered a lot of the main movies.
Speaker 5 (52:09):
We need to do some more ray retro field trips
or hangouts.
Speaker 4 (52:15):
Definitely, I'd like to. I'd like to do a y
retro holiday party where we go to a tiki bar
and everybody is invited.
Speaker 2 (52:26):
Ja, everyone gets my imaginary boyfriend. Come. Hey, if you're
listening to this, that could be you. Okay, So I'm
looking at movies just like I just put in nineties movies. Okay.
Cashper was a big one that I know talk about.
Chelsea and I have talked about that a lot. Men
(52:47):
and Black was also a big one for me.
Speaker 4 (52:50):
We haven't done Men Black.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
No Jumanji Independence Day, Independence Day, Yeah, I could talk
about that.
Speaker 3 (52:58):
You and I actually saw What Are You with Me?
I was with you.
Speaker 2 (53:01):
That's the first, like PG thirteen movie theater, and of
course you saw it with my parents.
Speaker 3 (53:05):
Yeah, it was.
Speaker 4 (53:08):
We should do Blade? Have we done Blade?
Speaker 2 (53:10):
We have not done Blade Blade. Small Soldiers. I would do.
Speaker 3 (53:16):
Small soldiers, not toy soldiers. Remember toy soldiers? Yeah, but
small soldiers it's different.
Speaker 2 (53:21):
Right toy soldiers? Are you thinking of toys or toy soldiers?
Speaker 3 (53:27):
Boy soldiers is when they had those it's basically AI
action figures. I think I remember liking that.
Speaker 4 (53:34):
I don't know that movie.
Speaker 2 (53:36):
I don't know it as well, and will whaton? I've
never seen that movie? Actually, uh so, yeah, you know
back to the Future, I guess. Yeah, But I'm like, looking,
we've covered a.
Speaker 3 (53:48):
Lot of movies, you guys, Dennis the Menace.
Speaker 2 (53:50):
I remember Dennis You're dying during the pandemic.
Speaker 3 (53:54):
Yeah, we watched that.
Speaker 2 (53:55):
Yeah, we watched Dennis the Menace and we were cracking up.
We were having a great time because that movie was
freaking hilarious. All right, Well, what else is there to say?
Episode two hundred Yeah, yeah, that's it? All right?
Speaker 4 (54:15):
Well are you ready for two hundred more?
Speaker 3 (54:18):
Are we ready to retro two hundred more?
Speaker 2 (54:22):
Four hundred? Yeah? Where does this end? Because honestly, guys,
I had a conversation with myself. I was like, is
this the.
Speaker 4 (54:31):
Yeah? All right, is this the end of the thing?
Speaker 2 (54:33):
I was like, am I done? It's not the end?
At least it's not for me. It is the end
for you. I mean it's only really if it was
for me, I wouldn't be here ready to go. Okay,
So I'm keeping it. Just kind of.
Speaker 4 (54:50):
Follow your lead, I think, right, Okay, I think so
fair enough, fair enough, fair enough.
Speaker 2 (54:55):
I would love to keep doing this. I you know,
this would be fun. Did the three of us? Yeah,
let's do more of that. So that's our almost New
Year's So Chris, you could guarantee that you can do
more than than one for next year.
Speaker 3 (55:14):
I could probably fit like one or two.
Speaker 2 (55:15):
Okay, cool?
Speaker 3 (55:16):
Cool? The problem?
Speaker 2 (55:17):
Can we say that you're getting married at the end
of this year?
Speaker 3 (55:20):
I am, and I'm very excited. Yeah, so I've got Yeah,
we'll do one live at the wedding.
Speaker 2 (55:27):
And that's the thing about this podcast. You say we're
gonna do live at the wedding.
Speaker 3 (55:31):
Yeah. When they say let's do our vows and say,
hang on, first off, I have to do an episode. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (55:37):
You go, huh what, huh what?
Speaker 4 (55:39):
What?
Speaker 3 (55:40):
That's gonna be your dad?
Speaker 2 (55:41):
Oh? Hello, Hello, that's Chris is Oh, by the way,
because I thought this was awesome and I want to
actually post it on our Instagram. So I was at
the panel for Erin McGregor and he comes out and
the first thing he says is hello. That It was
like so good, like hello, that goes hello. Then the
(56:03):
whole crowd just goes, oh my god. It was like, yeah,
that was worth going to that panel.
Speaker 3 (56:09):
They're talking about doing it season two of OHI Want.
I don't think we need it.
Speaker 2 (56:13):
He wants to do it, Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 3 (56:15):
I'm worried with all the stars and Marvel shit, it's
coming out of Disney's ass.
Speaker 4 (56:19):
Yeah. I think I'm probably gonna get rid of Disney
Plus pretty soon. Here there's nothing. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (56:25):
Never how excited we were wondering this list, Oh my god,
this this, this, this is gonna be on it. And
now I and We're like, oh, this isn't gonna be
on it. We're so pissed.
Speaker 2 (56:34):
And now you know, they took all.
Speaker 5 (56:35):
The Indiana Jones movies off except for one.
Speaker 4 (56:38):
Like, I don't what are they doing.
Speaker 3 (56:39):
I don't know who owns Indiana.
Speaker 4 (56:42):
I thought that Disney does, but.
Speaker 2 (56:44):
Maybe it's twentieth century, is it? Anyways? I can't wait
for Alien Romulus to be on Disney Plus. That's gonna
be awesome. It's with the little Hulu, a little Hulu packaging,
all right, So two hundred episodes in the book. First
time that Chelsea, myself and Chris have been together since
(57:06):
May twenty twenty three.
Speaker 3 (57:09):
This is day zero, baby, I mean together on a
podcast we've been together.
Speaker 4 (57:16):
That's true.
Speaker 2 (57:17):
Yeah, So I guess the last thing is final thoughts.
We don't have give a ready reading, but I'll start
final thoughts on I know we talked about it, but
just final thoughts the podcasts, all this stuff. So my
final thoughts are, it's been an incredible two hundred episodes.
When we first started, it was more of just like, hey,
(57:38):
let's keep doing We enjoyed being around each other, like
hanging out, and then this pandemic happened, and then life.
You know, I think for all of us, life has
been so complicated from the ramifications of the world shutting
down and all the social things that have just shifted
(57:59):
and things like that. Like life has just been heavier
and harder. So for me personally, i'll speak on behalf
of myself, is that this podcast has just been you know,
not to be dramatic, but it's been like a lifesaver
in certain aspects. It's been a place where I could
you know, express myself, connect with people, and you know,
(58:24):
always love when the three of us get to do
it together, because that will always be what the core
of it is. I mean, we started episode zero and
that was always the attention. It was like the three
of us to do it. And I understand, like you know,
life happens and stuff. But when we are able for
all three of us to hang out, even if we're
not recording, going to a John Williams concert or going
(58:44):
to uh the Tonga Hut and no hoo, this is
always good time. So Chelsea just moved to La County
already so we can hang out more.
Speaker 3 (58:53):
They're going to make me cry thought love you both.
Speaker 2 (58:56):
They're going to make me hyperbole like Chris your blood Chelsea,
you're adopted as one of the boil.
Speaker 3 (59:04):
Yeah, you're our adopted OC sister. Sister, dude, we.
Speaker 2 (59:10):
Should get your brother to hook up with Chelsea and then.
Speaker 5 (59:16):
Okay, find arranged marriage.
Speaker 2 (59:18):
All right, yeah, awesome, all right, next.
Speaker 3 (59:23):
I could just do it all right. I'm I'm happy
to be back. I've been wanting to do it. Just
I'm gonna make sure, no matter what it is, a
podcast or anything like that, don't let the things that
you think are such a big deal in your life
getting the way because they're really not. There's there's a
lot of good stuff out there, and don't put it
(59:44):
behind you when you think life's bad. Because it's really not.
Life's good. I'm glad I have you two as a cousin.
Don't have a choice, But even if if you weren't
my cousin, I'd still pick you as a friend. Dude,
and Chelsea love you too, love you Max, And I'm
just happy to be here with you guys. And I
know everyone missed my secy sexy, sexy voice.
Speaker 4 (01:00:06):
We did miss it.
Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
But no, I'm excited to see where this goes. I
want to do some Chris episodes. I'm not gonna lead it.
Max is always the lead. Yeah, he's asked us to
lead stuff, and me and Chelsea are like, uh.
Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
I know, realistically, it's gonna be in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 3 (01:00:22):
What's gonna be in twenty twenty five?
Speaker 2 (01:00:24):
You being back on the podcast?
Speaker 3 (01:00:26):
No, I could do?
Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
You want to do it in November?
Speaker 3 (01:00:30):
Probably?
Speaker 2 (01:00:31):
Okay, let's do it. Yeah, you heard it first Nick, November,
Chris will be there.
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
Yeah, it may not be in person, but I could
do it remotely. I mean I work down the street
from Max.
Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
So so all right, what about you Chelsea?
Speaker 4 (01:00:42):
Oh boy, well, I feel the same way. I love
you guys both so much. I appreciate our friendship a lot.
I appreciate this podcast. Like I've said so many times, Max,
you really put it all together. You find all these
people and you edit the part. I mean, you keep
like I said, you keep the car running. Me and
(01:01:02):
me and me and Chris will hop in the car sometimes,
you know. But yeah, it's just been. It's great. I mean,
you guys are really good friends. You guys help me move.
Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
That was you know, that was great, you know, and.
Speaker 4 (01:01:17):
Yeah, I hate asking for help, so uh yeah, it's
it's just it has been a lot to me. It's
crazy that it's we've you know, you Max, You've just
been keeping it going and we've met, Like we said,
we've met so many people. I met Tess, who I'm
just you know, she's one of my best friends. Now
we're so close, and it's crazy. You know what you
(01:01:39):
can happen when you start projects like this. And yeah,
it's just been. It's just been really cool and I
I appreciate you guys a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
Yeah, and I want to shout out Adam and John
Spis because a lot.
Speaker 4 (01:01:55):
Yeah, they kick started a lot of this.
Speaker 2 (01:01:57):
They started a lot of it. So I always say
that that so because of you guys, we've I mean indirectly,
I have the position of my job that I have
right now because of that relationship. Yeah, it's just crazy,
like I guess you know in final thoughts again, sorry,
(01:02:19):
it's just like you never know where your life will
be lead out of relationships. So the way that we
looked at, you know, other podcasters and teaming up, it
wasn't even trying to network or trying to self promote.
It was just like, rather than compete, let's complete. So
by having more voices, it's more of a picture of
(01:02:41):
humanity and different perspectives. Sorry, my phone fellow and things
like that. So yeah, so shout out to John and
Adam Last from our past podcast.
Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
So they sold Max the car, he drove it and
we hopped in.
Speaker 4 (01:02:58):
I would say I gave Rady Richro ten out of ten,
Jimmy Jimminey sorry, Chimney Crickets.
Speaker 5 (01:03:05):
Ten out of ten.
Speaker 3 (01:03:07):
Yeah, ten out of ten.
Speaker 4 (01:03:08):
Drunk Team, yes, maybe a ten out ten my My
Sharona by the Beatles.
Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
Okay, okay, ten out of ten. Kurt Fuller say, you
don't even know why I'm doing this interview.
Speaker 5 (01:03:28):
We appreciate it all the same.
Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
Yes to which I responded, Yeah, I don't know why
you're going to either people. We'll take it, we'll take
it all right, well, without further ado. Next week we
have Corey on for episode two oh one of the
Ready to Retro podcast. We were talking about alien Romulus,
So without further ado, we're ready to retro
Speaker 4 (01:04:05):
In
