Having to navigate through the trials of life, at times, can leave us wondering just what is going on with us and why are we having to deal with these situations. Well, this episode of Real-Me will help to clarify and help us to understand that we could be in a wilderness place of testing and qualification for where we are going and/or prepare for our next assignment. My friend and brother, Don Claycomb has authored “Roadmap Through the Wilderness” to give us an overview of where we are in our qualifying process. Listen in and be enlightened.

My God, I've read the bookand I'm gonna tell you something. It
is a life changing, uh revelation, and and it's so relevant to our
lives, and so, uh Ithought it. I thought it's so apropos
for him to join us tonight toshare because I believe what he has to

(01:33):
say is going to be a blessingto you and so many other listeners.

joining us once again, Real Meanpodcast. We're going to discover the real
you through these series of podcasts. So let's get started tonight. Let's just
jump right in. Well, Don, good evening to you, sir,
her brother. It's good to behere. Wow, what an honor it
is to have you here tonight.I'm telling you, I count this a

(02:17):
privilege and an honor just to haveyou. I've been knowing you for several
several years now, and never didI realize that we would be teaming up
like this. And I guess maybeback then I didn't know the intensity of
the giftings that was on the insideof you. But praise God that I

(02:39):
have discovered and we invited you heretonight to share with us. But the
Lord has put into your heart andso thank you for your book. Your
book is very intriguing, and soI just want to just jump right in
with just a few questions if youdon't mind, and just maybe you could
just give us an overall summary andI'm just going to ask you a few

(03:02):
questions here and so look, sothe first first question I'd like to ask
you is what was the overall purposeand the message to us through Roadmap through
the Wilderness. Well, understanding thatJesus came out of the wilderness and the
power of the Holy Spirit, hewas anointed and sent into his ministry,

(03:27):
we can use his example to comeout of our wilderness experiences as well.
So the message is that Roadmap throughthe Wilderness is a help. It's a
guide so that if you want hopein your wilderness, it brings you knowledge

(03:51):
with understanding and guidance how to comeout. You don't have to stay there.
So that's the primary a purpose. There is something that can be done
about your wilderness experience. Like Isaid, you don't have to stay there.
Mm hmm, okay, Now thepurpose purpose, that's the message.

(04:14):
The purpose is for you to comeout in power like Jesus anointed incent.
It's a qualifier for anointed life tofulfill who He created you to be.
Mm hmm wonderful, you know. And of course, as you were answering
the question, I noticed, youknow, some of the verbis that you

(04:35):
were using, and a lot ofattended to Christians or you know, people
who are kind of familiar with, you know, Jesus's experience and the wilderness
and things like that. But Iwant to ask you this question. Is
the book primarily for Christians or isit relevant to anybody? The book is

(04:58):
relevant. I like that word. The book is relevant to anybody. Uh,
primarily because of Uh it's it's it'san example of life. Uh.
Anyone can benefit from the book. There are testimonies, there are stories,
uh, practical applications to life thatare uplifting and actually they bring hope to

(05:27):
a struggling world. Mm. Wowwow that's profound. So did you hear
that? Readers, Listeners, listen, It's not just for Christians, it's
for anybody. And and Christians aren'tbetter than anybody. We're just forgiven,
that's all. And you know,we just found Jesus. Thank you.
Don for that. Actually, anotherquestion I want to help ask you is

(05:53):
what are some practical what are someof the practical examples that we can identify
that let us know that where inthe wilderness. Well understand that wilderness situation
is a time of difficulty beyond beyondour control. Okay, a time of

(06:16):
intense difficulty at times beyond our control. Hardships, difficult job issues, confusion
in our life, times when we'rebe prayed to cause fear, financial difficulties,

(06:38):
family, relational pain. Satan roamsaround seeking who he can destroy.
And we can take that literally,So any situation whereas Satan attempts to negate
your identity in the Lord in thatwilderness scenario. Mm hmm. That's powerful.

(07:06):
And you you said a word thatthat really has has really been on
my heart over over the past fewmonths. It's about identity and which is
which is Actually how I came upwith this this podcast called real Me podcast,

(07:30):
because the Lord has spoken to meabout how our identity back in the
Book of Genesis, you know, when Adam and Eve were deceived by Satan,
how Satan stole their identity? Youknow, because the scripture tells us
that in Genesis one twenty six.It tells us that we were created in

(07:51):
the image and the likeness of God. And so because God, God said,
let us make man in our imageand in our likeness, and he
gave us dominion over the earth andall and so, and then you know,
a few verses later, you know, I thinks in chapter three,
you know how they were deceived byand by Satan. You know, he

(08:15):
was deceived, beguiled first, andthen she gave to Adam. And all
of a sudden, after they obeyedthe devil and disobeyed God's command not to
eat of the tree, all ofa sudden, their identity was stolen.
You know, they didn't look likeGod anymore, they didn't act like God
anymore, you know, and theyweren't like God anymore. Their identity was

(08:39):
stolen. And so in the roadmattthrough the wilderness. You know, the
one thing I recognized, you know, that you really zeroed in on,
was that identity piece. How evenSatan himself tried to steal Jesus's identity in
the wilderness. Wow, Yes,Jesus, Jesus uh received or had his

(09:05):
ident identity confirmed when he was baptized. Heaven's opened up and the Father says,
you are my beloved son in whomI am well pleased, And Satan
shows up and says, if you'rethe son of God, turning these stones
into bread using that two little twoletter word three in each each of the

(09:28):
three temptations. So God says youare my beloved son, and Satan shows
up and says, well, ifyou are, yes, and if you
are, and he ultimately he's tryingto bring unbelief into that's his ultimate goal.
But here again we can apply Jesus'sexperiences Satan. Satan is stupid.

(09:54):
He can invent new ways to comeinto our lives. So we can see
what he's done. He's exposed inthe wilderness. We can see what he's
done in attempting to take Jesus' identityaway, and guess what he's going to
show up trying to do the samewith us. That's that's amazing, you

(10:18):
know, because you know he askedJesus the son of God. You know,
if thou be the son of God. Jesus already knew who he was.
And so it reminds me, itreminds me about you know, like
when when the devil the serpent beguiledeven Adam in the garden, and you

(10:41):
know he they had already known thatthey were created in God's image and in
his likeness. I mean they youknow, they walked with him. They
you know everything, God gave himdominion over everything. You know, they
Adam named all the animals and everythingand so and so the devil said that

(11:01):
Jesus, God knows that if youeat of this fruit that you'll be like
God's Well, they were already likeGod because they were created in God's image
and in his likeness just like right, So so just like you're talking about,
you know, the devil just tryto steal Jesus, Jesus's identity,
but God himself when Jesus was baptized, just like you said, you know,

(11:26):
look down from heaven and said, this is my beloved son in whom
I'm well pleased. Wow. Youknow so so real me, real me.
This podcast is to help us torecognize who we really are, you
know, before all of the beforeall of the alcohol, before all of

(11:48):
the drugs, before you know, all of the abuse, before all of
the bullying and all of that. The Real Meat podcast is inspired to help
us to realize who God created usin his image and in his likeness and
help us to discover the real me, the real person that's hidden underneath all

(12:11):
of that baggage. So believes meto the next question, don So,
what was your inspiration? You knowthat brought you to the revelation of Roadmap
through the Wilderness? Well many yearsago, more than I cared to admit.
I was in my mid thirties actuallyand reading in Luke about Jesus's wilderness

(12:37):
experience, and as I did,I'm thinking, you know, that's an
important time in his life. There'sgot to be more. There's only a
few verses here. So that kindof grabbed hold of me, and I
found myself every several days, oncea week, periodically going back and reading

(12:58):
it, thinking there's got to bemore. And so in that season,
Donna and I, my wife, were going to Saturday night Bible studies and
the teacher came up and said,I'm not going to be here next week.
How do you feel about sharing? And I said, well, sure,

(13:20):
having no idea what I was goingto zero it. So I find
myself in the next day or twoin that same passage, and brother,
it was just like the floodgates opened. I was receiving understanding, I was

(13:41):
receiving new concepts and the information.I ran over and got a pen and
pat and couldn't write, literally couldn'twrite fast enough. So after that was
all over, the following week Iprepared and organized what the Lord had unveiled
to me. Saturday night, Ishared, and as I did, I

(14:05):
could see the countenances on the countenanceon the people's faces start to change,
and I could tell that this messagewas touching people in a way that was
special. And uh, that messagebecame the foundation of the whole book.

(14:28):
Roman through the Wilderness gotcha so excited? It was pretty exciting for me.
Wow, I can only imagine.Hey, well and so, so I
have read the book. I readit from from front to back, even
all the copyrights and everything. Iread all that. I wanted to take

(14:50):
you out. I clean you were, but the uh, you know,
I was at the very beginning ofyour book. You know, you you
talk. I'm not going to revealeverything in the book because really, you
know, all your listeners and uhpeople who are hearing this broad this podcast

(15:11):
really need to purchase this book sothat it can minister it to you.
But I had a specific interest, you know, in the beginning of the
book, because you're a hunter, you know, you hunt a wild game,
and I used to hunt wild game, and thank you for the offer
to uh to go with you inthe very near future. I do a

(15:35):
lot of hunting, not a lotof getting well, I like to get
when I go. But so,but you know, I was very intrigued,
you know, with some of yourstories about your hunting experiences, you
know, at the beginning, becauseyou know, because I I used to
experience those same things. But youknow, you were very vivid with your

(15:56):
uh details and all, and soit was very inspiring. But but I
mean I couldn't put the book down. I read it from front to back,
you know, over a period oftime, of course, but but
it was just so inspiring to me. And you know, some of the
things that you were saying in thebook were like verbatim too. I was

(16:18):
actually preaching some of this stuff already, and when I was when I was
reading your book, I'm like,I said that that's exactly what I said,
you know, And so it's likethe Holy Spirit in me and the
Holy Spirit you you know, justspeaking the same exact thing, and so,
you know, which was really myinspiration for you know, uh,

(16:41):
beginning this podcast, you know, real Me podcast. And so so let
me let me just progress to anotherquestion. So, as I was reading
the book, of course, butas I was reading the book, you
know, I'm like, man, people need to hear this, you know.
So, as I was reading thebook, I'm like, so,
I'm want to ask you this question. Is the book just a general read

(17:03):
or have you made it like asyllabus or where steps of application can be
implemented as a course of study, you know, so that people can just
you know, continually, you know, look back and really just use it
as a guide, you know, through their lives and explain that. Okay,
at the moment, it's a generalread, it's a matter of prayer.

(17:30):
Actually, there there is a sequel, a book that I have about
half written titled. It is finishedbut not yet complete. And I'm trying
to determine, if I answer yourquestion, I suspect yes, there will
be. I'm trying to determine ifthe Lord wants me to do one for

(17:51):
each book, or if he wantsme to put them together, because they
are a sequel. The second book, it is finished, don't you complete
picks up literally after Jesus came outof the wilderness, and is continues throughout
today and even in the future, specifically today and how I believe the Lord

(18:19):
sees the church in today's world.Thank you for those wonderful questions, for
those wonderful answers. You really answereda lot of questions for us tonight.
However, there's a couple more questionswe do want to ask, but but
we're going to take a quick break, right quick, and we're going to

(18:40):
come right back to talk to thiswonderful man and so so we'll see you
when we get back. You havesomething special, You have greatness in you.

(19:03):
to be focusing on positive things, because whatever you focus on the longest becomes
the strongest. And now more thanever, when the suicide rate has increased
over thirty three percent, when thesuicide rate of young children between five and
eleven has doubled, people feeling hopelessand stressed out and powerless. We need

(19:26):
programming that can bring out the greatnessin them and that's what we will be
focused on. When you listen,it will be an experience that will transform
your life. Lets Brown Greatnessradio dotCom. That's my story and I'm sticking
to it. Okay, welcome backeverybody. Thank you once again for joining

(19:49):
us for this Real Meat podcast. We've been talking to our wonderful guests,
Don Clacomb, who wrote the bookRoadmap through the Wilderness, and he's given
some awesome information. He's not revealingeverything in the book yet. You have
to buy it, you have toaccess it. But let's just just a
couple more questions I want to askhim powerful book though I'm telling you so

(20:14):
so, Don let me ask youthis, how many stages or steps are
there upon completion? And upon completion, are we finished with the wilderness or
is it just a reoccurring cycle oftests that we have to go through.

(20:36):
Well, I like to call himevents because each one was an event for
Jesus. The first was the firstevent? Was it he was led into
the wilderness by the Holy Spirit. He didn't get lost and find himself in
there. Satan did not entice him. He was led in by the Holy

(20:59):
spirits, so we can have comfortin understanding there is purpose for a wilderness
scenario. The second event we alreadytouched a few moments ago, is that
his identity was challenged, So understandingthat Jesus had two separate and totally different

(21:22):
scenarios that was placed before him regardingwho he was. Regarding his identity,
he was one hundred percent God,but he's also one hundred percent human,
so he had to give some thoughtto that, having two strong scenarios before
him opposing identities. After he thoughtabout it, he hadn't make a choice.

(21:48):
Scripture says, where there is alight, there can be no darkness.
So he couldn't take a little bitof what Satan was saying and a
little bit of what Jesus was sayingand taking those molding his own identity and
his own comfort level. He hadto choose. After he chose the fifth
event, he had to submit tothat. It's not it's a choice.

(22:14):
It's one thing to make a choice, it's quite another to submit and walk
in it. The sixth event, once he submitted himself to the choice that
he made, here comes the authorityof the Father, the mantle of authority
rested on his shoulders. Understand,he didn't have authority when he walked in

(22:37):
to the wilderness, so he receivedhis authority. And the seventh event was
that he ran. If we lookat first Samuel seventeen, we can see
interaction between David and Goliath, andone sentence, one small passage in there,

(23:06):
I missed all my life. Thatjust exploded when I saw it,
and David ran to the battle line. So we can see the interaction between
David and Goliath generally is understood inmost Christian circles that I'm aware of,
that it's a type of the interaction. That's an example of the interaction between

(23:27):
darkness and light. And what betterinteraction between darkness, darkness and light is
there between Satan and Jesus in thewilderness. So we can take that example
and see that Jesus grabbed the swordof the Spirit, which is the word
of God, and he ran tothe battle line and said, man does

(23:52):
not live by bread alone. Hequoted the scriptures, but every word that
proceeds out of the mouth of theFather, and he disabled Satan. Regarding
that temptation, Satan went on tosomething else, he had nothing to say,
He had no response to truth. So what was most beneficial when I

(24:17):
was when I understood this concept wasthat Jesus was not a victim in the
wilderness, nor do we need tobe a victim in our wilderness. So
those seven steps are our example, say twenty nine. We are predestined to

(24:38):
conform to the image of his son, and that includes in our wilderness walk
So there's our example. Awesome,Amen, Wow, that's powerful as powerful
you did ask me. You didask me also about if there's only one

(25:02):
Are there recurring wilderness scenario? Yes, And the answer is it has been
for me. The wilderness is aplace of education. The wilderness is a
place of qualification, that word toqualify as used in scripture. So we

(25:23):
have the opportunity to have several wildernessexperiences. I've in times I prayed Lord,
I want to come up to anotherplateau. Well, in order to
do that, I had to beeducated. So I might have found myself
in a wilderness scenario. But asI go into the wilderness, I never

(25:48):
walk out without having a truth orunderstanding that I didn't have before. And
again, Satan is exposed in thewilderness and that gives us that edge cation
to respond to his temptations, histreachery in a wilderness. So it qualifies

(26:11):
us for the ministry field. Whenwe come out, there's a test,
and it qualifies us for the spiritualbattlefield. When we come out, there's
our test. And sometimes we needto get an education or maybe go back
and relearn what we already learned andfor God. So yes, yes,

(26:37):
it's a tool that the Lord usesto prepare us for anointed literally anointed to
be sent in the wilder in ministry. I hear you. I'm good.
Wow, that's powerful stuff right there. So wow, powerful. You got
to get the book, y'all. You just got to get it. Speaking

(27:00):
of which, don how can readersaccess or purchase the book? Well,
it's on Amazon dot com. Onceyou're on the website, there's a menu

something there, but it's a mustread. It'll definitely help you to you

(29:23):

certainly like you said, it's veryeducational. Uh so I can certainly vouch
for that. Don Thank you somuch. Wow, what a powerful,
powerful time this was together and veryinformative as well. I've learned some things

(29:45):
just sitting and chatting with you. Thanks again for joining us. And actually,

what God said about you. AndI want you to know that you are
and wonderfully made. You're a wonderfulperson, a wonderful human being. It
