(00:00):
Throughout time, I've seen many differentpeople people like all guys and music.
All guys, I've learned good musicis what feelings sound like. I followed
me on my journey to discover newmusic, new styles, and new people.
(00:25):
Welcome this real FOCU, real musichere on the LDM radio station.
All right, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for listening to the LDM radio
station with their good music out there. But this is time for real talk,
real music. And this is forthe independent artists and for people to
(00:47):
speak about real music. So youknow, we're gonna have a conversation here,
but it's not interviews and stuff. It's just a regular conversation. But
we have our first time LDM winnerhere today. UH nominee for the first
time killed it on stage on theLDM Music Awards. Uh. Your matter
(01:07):
of fact, you can check thatout. If you have rocal TV,
you can check it out right now, the edited version of it. If
not, then you're gonna have towait for two weeks before it becomes public.
But ladies and gentlemen, we havenow I can say award winning artists.
He marsh Hi, y'all. Hello, everyone, hild good, how
(01:29):
are you good? Good good.So uh, first of all, before
we go into anything else, howdid you feel like, well, this
so long, seeing your your songsgoing up to top ten's top fifties and
all this, you know, droppinggoing up and now to be a come
of winner. Wow, Like Ireally thought I wouldn't win this award.
(01:52):
Honestly, That's why I thought Iwas the first ARM and B artist to
achieve a number one even on thestay up there, because but I was
just blessed just see that, becauseI had a premonition about it. So
when I saw it, I wasjust screaming. I was so happy.
And then like I was nagging shot, I stayed on top ten, and
then I'm and then being here andat you know, at the awards show
and just experience, you know, experiencing everything, meeting great people like Identity
(02:15):
and Rebel g that's my soul sistershout out to him, and just I'm
I was just in awe. Igot a little emotional because I thought I
wouldn't see this day and now thefact that my name was being called,
I was just like WHOA. SoI'm still in awe because I couldn't believe
it. Yeah, And then's justone thing. Uh. I was watching
(02:35):
the when they were editing. Yousaid, this makes it real of what
I've been fighting for to other peoplelike that are listening. I know it's
a feeling that you can't really putin words, probably, but uh like,
how did that make that one nextstep? Because you know you that
steps into your life. Maybe Icould bring it better now cause I was
(03:00):
really like, you know, startshut back then, but now I just
felt like I I wasn't fit inany space. I mean, I don't
know because I'm different from a lotof the other artists. Yeah, and
I wasn't sure like you know, who would accept me and who would appreciate
what I bring on stage and justme being myself and you know, just
(03:24):
performing throughout the whole year a coupleof years now, and people were really
like recepted to it and praising meand making me feel good, you know.
As an artist. It's just Ijust like to reminisce on my videos
sometimes it just be like Wow,I could hear the audience in my ears
and be like, this is whatI want to keep experiencing. This is
what I want to keep doing forthe rest of my life. Like I
(03:46):
I always want to make sure Imake timeless music, forward thinking music.
I want to make sure like theworst that I've written resonate with people,
and the fact that people could comeup to me and go, you did
a wonderful job, beautiful job,and stuff like that, and it just
makes me happy that I could justyou know, use that as a tool
of positivity to keep going. SoI'm yeah, I'm just happy for myself,
(04:10):
which is which is a good thing. Especially you know, R and
B. Like I said, backin the days, it was baby making
music. You know, it wassmooth. Uh. You sit there,
I call it like barb music. You know, you sit there and relax.
You listen to this song and ittakes you somewhere, Yes, you
know, especially R and B.I think R and B, jazz and
(04:31):
maybe country would have to take yousomewhere. You can't just listen to it
if you're listening to it and you'renot really somewhere else. And I don't
think the song was good. That'smy opinion. That makes you know,
like when I listen to your song, I'm like, oh yeah, damn,
I remember back in the days, like it took me somewhere, you
(04:54):
know, And even with like Rand B relationship songs, you know,
it would take you to that onemoment or makes you even think, damn,
I've been doing wrong. You know, like those are type of songs
that I like personally and I thinkthe world like because you won, you
know, yeah, it's I wasjust like, oh my god, and
speaking of the song gets about acrush and on my birth with him before,
(05:15):
and he actually liked the video inthe song. So it's just one
of those things like he knows I'mtalking about him, but he doesn't make
it obvious. And it's like, you know what, I'm okay with that
cause I don't want to disrespect youknow, his narrator anything like that.
But yeah, now okay. Youknow, it was just a feeling I
couldn't hold, that couldn't control. So I was just like, you know
what, let me express it ina song. And I was still constanplate
(05:39):
in on a second single because that'sactually a second single, and I was
I wasn't gonna pick that one reallybecause I had others in mind and something
that said, you know what, try this one and let people, you
know, decide if you know it'sgood enough. And it's a timeless head,
and I keep getting, like yousaid, throwback show to see a
little bit of Tony, a littlebit of Anita, because I heard Anita
(06:00):
in there. Just I just Ijust wanted the essence of R and B
to come back again, and I'mglad I was able to do that with
this song. Yeah, a coupleof people, uh you know again,
if you listen to the LDM radioon castor FM, I think you can
even request a song or request questionabout the songs and stuff. People were
(06:23):
saying, Wow, this took meback. This is real R and B.
You know, like the comments thatpop up on some of the songs,
I'd be like, okay, youknow, as a listener or their
critic, I'd be like, okay, So then I am criticizing correctly because
people were saying similar things that I'msaying. Yeah, you know, and
then if I said something bad abouta song and then they won, I
(06:45):
must not be hearing right, youknow. Yeah. So but this one
was R and B that took you, you know there, so like a
on a crush, Like I wonderif any of your listeners ever approach your
crush or ever told them or justlike said, forget it. I'm never
gonna tell them, you know, have I done that? I don't recall,
(07:08):
but I've seen that. I fellin love four times that I know
of, and none of them wantedme. I know that feeling, and
I actually want a slung about thatrecently. Okay, it's a terrible no
if I have to be angry though, to really be angry. But nah,
it's like a it's a sad sadIt's a sad song, and I'm
thinking about, you know, maybeputting it in an album. It depends
(07:30):
like it's aesthetic. But I've writtenso many songs for this album. It's
just I don't I don't know whatto pick. It's just like, I
just want to make sure it's perfectthis project. And I'm sadly blazed when
I beat on the album. Soyou know, I could have released like
an EP or something to get peopleto get into me. But I'm like,
you know what it has it.You know, it's own success,
(07:54):
so it's doing what it needs todo. It could come always come back.
They always have the greatest hits albums, you know, they always you
put that out there. I'm waitingfor one of the UH artists to do
that they have so much songs throughoutthe years. They came out with an
album called the Greatest Hits. Youknow, usually they do that like in
the tenth year of their career, right, so I'm expecting Verbleg to do
that. Yeah, well, gota couple of good ones. She's a
(08:18):
five time now, I'm you know, Uh, she just won the gospel
so uh she got a lot ofgood songs. Yeah, so but things
like that. Uh, Now,are you gonna be doing any other uh
gen just like any other genres?Yes, I'm I'm I'm an open book.
Definitely an open book. I've Igive like some away a little bit
(08:41):
I've done. I've written, Iwrote I'm Starting Good. I've written a
country pop record, I've written analternative rock record. I've written obviously R
and B, pop, himp hohop, Western, so many and all
of that. Uh. The songsthat I've written is basically personal experiences,
(09:03):
and the songs that I'm want toput in this album is personal but relatable
to people. So I'm i'm Ihave to like make sure like when I
record these songs, it I haveto you know, make sure I resonate
with people. Are like I said, and hopefully I could figure out her
single and once I do, I'vereleased it to the world. Maybe hopefully
next year I could release a singleto put out there so people, can
(09:26):
you know, get into me again, cause it's been a while since I've
released a single, so it's kindof getting me out there. Is features,
you know, shout out some otheryear singles. Why did I shut
them out? Yeah, like likeyou didn't want to post some money out
yet. I've been all over theplace. I've been working on my mental
health. I think a lot.And I had like a small moment of
(09:46):
depression. And also the industry couldtake a toll, yeah, because like
you know, you expect people tolike love you constantly all the time,
but I I but I had amoment where, like, you know,
the crowd was just like okay, girl, that's nice. Like it wasn't
like j you know, mmm, that's cute, like that type of vibe
(10:07):
and like the face expressions I wouldsee because I would look at that to
see if like people enjoying it,some just don't. I'm I'm not everybody's
cup of tea, and I'm I'mlearning. I had to learn that as
well. It wasn't easy cause Ihad a small breakdown. Velge saw it.
I think it was recorded as well, cause I s I dropped the
mic down, I walked out andI was breaking down, and then Gemini
(10:28):
Sex came to talk to me.But you know, he didn't understand too
much what I was trying to say. No offense to him. Well,
like I wanted to talk to somebodythat was like music related, and it
was just a lot going on mentallythat I just feel like, you know
what, I need to put itin a song. I don't want to
harbor those feelings in And yeah, there was some artists that, uh,
until this day, they don't reallyperform, but their songs are great hits.
(10:52):
And you know, I'm talking aboutmainstream, especially with country country.
Now you do you see more peopleperforming, yes, but back in the
days, they didn't really hardly performand their songs were known all over the
world because some people don't like toperform, but they love to sing.
And maybe because of that, youknow, because they didn't want to see
(11:13):
the people's faces and stuff. Butthen when they had no choice but to
perform to get better, you know, for people to know them more.
Performances started coming out more and moreout there, and thank God for the
bright lights that we can't even hardlysee people, you know, because I
love them. I love when thosebright lights hit me. I'm like,
yeah, I don't see nobody,So I'm just gonna this is my world.
(11:35):
And you know, sometimes you haveto do that, like forget about
the faces in the crowd and justworry about your world. That's what the
advices I've been given from verl Gand my manager of your lyrics shout out
to him as well. He Ihad to tell him what happened with my
mental health in the industry itself. And he's been in the game for almost
twenty years now, about three twentyyears next year or so. He knows
(11:56):
like when people don't really check foryou or like look, you know,
diss you and say stuff on youknow, at you on stage, and
you know, he he experienced uff, so me dealing with that, he
was just like, you know what, just focus on you be you like,
don't be afraid to express yourself thebest way, you know how in
other words, and I'm starting togain my strength back, my strength back
(12:18):
and that and she saw the LDMand words, I was really you know,
doing me. I didn't care aboutyou know who liked it, who
did in And you know what mattersto me is that I do what I
love. That's very, very veryimportant. Anybody that's an artist should do
that. If you love this music, ish focus on that and if and
worry about everything else later. Right, Yeah, it was all falling.
(12:41):
It would all fall in place anyway, because even if you were on stage
and you don't do it for thelove of what you're doing, it shows
yes, you know what I'm saying, So they're gonna be like, what
did you doing? You know whatI'm saying. So it's like there are
certain people like that's Beyonce. Iwould ever go to her concert. I'm
(13:03):
not going for her music. Idon't really crave for the music so much,
but I love her performances. Ilove the action that they'd be having
on stage. So you can imagineher just doing you know two percent,
you're gonna be like what she don'tlove this? Why you're on the stage?
Then you know what I mean?Like you can feel it, But
her performances every single time you cansee the love. You can see then
(13:24):
even though you can see her facethat she's tired, but she still gives
you all she got. That's whypeople want to see. You know,
if you're an R and B singer, you're on the stage, they already
know you're not You're not probably gonnabe dancing and doing flips, you know
what I mean. So but nowit has to come out in the lyrics,
It has to come out in thevoice. It has to come you
know, show your emotions that youlove to be on that stage. So
(13:46):
it all deplans on which gender orwhat type of talent you're trying to show.
That has to show. So maybein the beginning, like you said,
with the depression and everything, youdid not know or did not feel,
uh, because it happens here.Like you know, I'm an advocate
for the depression. I go aroundtalking about it and stuff like that,
(14:07):
and people know that I have itand I tell them what to do to
fight it. So one of thosethings was like that, like I was
like you, oh man, thesepeople don't even like what I'm saying,
Like you know, like why amI here? So every job I got
and everything I did was to makesure that I was not around people,
you know, like I want tobe by myself. No one wants to
hear my type of job. Butthey don't want to hear about death.
(14:28):
They don't want to hear it,you know. So I was like,
yeah, I'm loving it, Butthen I realized I'm sheltering myself. And
then when I finally open up,I'm gonna fall more on depression. So,
you know, with music, that'swhy I get the elder in radio
station, cause with music you feelcertain ways. You know, you ever
heard that one song that you'd belike, yeah, I remember, you
know, you remember that shirt hewas wearing, like it took you so
(14:50):
back because of that one song thatyou know, the music, you know
the day you know how hot itwas. Like, that's why music does
for you. And as long asyou keep singing from your heart, who
cares? Obviously people care because youwon, you know what I mean.
Yeah, you just can keep thinkingabout that, like wait a minute,
(15:13):
but doesn't mean to slow down, doesn't mean to stop, means that Okay,
they love this one. Let's seeif they continue to you know,
to portion to love. So wehad back to back winners in times.
We had one hit wonders, youknow, we hit we we had them
all, but the memory of it, no one's gonna take that away from
(15:35):
you. So you know, don'tworry about any of that or what people
say, you know, just keepgoing. I appreciate that. Thank you.
Yes, yes. Other than that, your next song? What what?
What? What? We? Whatwe what? We're gonna look at
what We're gonna look at the nextsingle? What's next single? What am
I saying? Oh? Well, technically I'm on the featured song with real
lyrics. We're doing a video showfor that tomorrow, so that's a big
(15:58):
deal. Into song called Limical Assassinthree featuring myself and are Dopplade, So
I can't wait to do that. We're gonna do that thirty fourth Street cause
you know, he wants to doit in front of a crowd, so
we're gonna show out. It's gonnabe all right. I make su'all look
my best. Oh yeah yeah.So I'm proud of that. The fact
that I could keep my name outthere is by being on certain features and
(16:22):
songs, and you know, mynumbers really hit up there because I want
to make Sean you know, Istay relevant. But like my own stuff.
I know that the first single forthe album I'm working on is gonna
be a singy songy type situation.I don't know the genre yet, but
I want people to get more intomy vocal ability and cause you know the
(16:42):
fact that I want for blades likeyou mentioned, you know, for the
for this one, hopefully you know, it could resonate with people. Once
again, I've just written so manysongs though I I have to really decide,
but would really stick out to people. If you guys are just tuning
in and listening, Uh, sheis doing it. And this is uh,
(17:03):
you know the LDM where we showcasethe independent artists in different ways.
Uh. So we we're hoping thatyou continue, you know, going and
hoping that you bring another hit,uh, perform more. You know that
we can see what's going on.Uh. If you guys didn't see her
(17:25):
performance again, check her out herpage and stuff like that where you can
actually see her perform and she's available, uh for the if the price is
right, you know what I mean, can't get fifty bucks and telling you
how to go towards North Carolina.Okay, so you know, but performance
is is uh independent artists. Uh. That helps a lot of the independent
(17:49):
artists when you uh hire them todo you know, stuff out there.
You know, at least pay thatthen taxi at least you know you know
what I'm saying. Yes, soyou know, designed the bathroom into a
to a to a new dressing room. But uh, what what's next besides
the uh the album videos? Whatpersonally? What you what you wanna do
(18:14):
next? Personally? Ooh okay,So I do want to get into fashion
shows. I've never done that.Well actually yeah I did, was way
back, but I mean like nownow, like in the industry, I've
never been to one or walked inone. I would love to experience.
That's right there. I've been ona magazine, revelg Spotlight magazine, so
(18:38):
shout out to her, I evenputting me on that. I wanna be
in more of different magazines. Butyou know that prices is crazy, persons
in saying so it's like it's allabout budgeting and making sure I got what
I need for that. But yeah, like I wanna experience. What's I
want to experience? I wanna domore collaborations. Of course, It's all
about timing. It's all about youknow, making sure me and the other
(19:00):
person could connect in the same levelwith that because I people say, oh,
let's do stuff together and it neverworks out. So I reciprocate.
So you're really serious, then let'sdo it, you know. But was
that's good? Oh and by theway, I have a performance. I'm
performing at tom Square and then onthe big stage on the twelve, so
(19:22):
that is a big deal. I'venever thought I'll do that. And in
the nineteenth I'm gonna be at aopening listen list opening listening party for Black
Diamond and I'm gonna perform with fourother girls. We have a song I
called Toxic, so it's me,revelg Champagne, Beyond Blue, and Betty
Ross. So that's that's a bigdeal. And I think I'm performing my
(19:45):
own set, so I wanna.I'm gonna make sure I conform that with
them. So yeah, I gotstuff going on this month? Oh my
god? So where can they findyou? Everyone could find me on Instagram,
