Speaker 1 (00:02):
Tune in Stranger Ryan, Judge Jason had to pay to
Sonic Andrew Topic five podcast place ahead your trial.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
With your ju fra.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Hello, and welcome to the Ranger Ryan Show. I am
Ranger Ryan without Judge Jay again. It's it's gonna be
when he comes back. He will have to explain himself
and it's probably not as exciting as you would like
(00:53):
it to be, but it is a conversation that we're
gonna have because this is a personal journal podcast, a
journal that is full of things that I want to
talk about, and today I want to talk about D
twenty three. Now D twenty three happened? Was it August?
(01:19):
Maybe August y? And you know, first of all, I
was a member back in twenty nineteen. I was a
member of D twenty three and I got a magazine,
I got a lot of spam, and I've I've been
(01:43):
a part of a lot of memberships in my life,
you know, forty years old, I got plenty of my
belt under a in the membership category, everything from Blockbuster
to what was the name of the the geek box thing,
loot crate. I was a loot crate member. Currently, I
(02:06):
have subscriptions to several streaming services, right, because I'm trying
to cut cable, try to cut cable, save some money.
Ends up, you know, you just have all these subscriptions
that equaled a cable bill. So anyway, I know how
(02:29):
memberships work, okay, all access, right, And I mainly did
it because, like I think they had something on the
cruise on the Disney Cruise Lines where you could like
go to this thing for D twenty three people and
it was just like free drinks or something or whatever
(02:49):
or doves. It never happened because I joined in twenty
nineteen and I got it prior to the twenty twenty
crews which was canceled, so I never got to use
my membership, not that I know what it did anyway,
(03:11):
But anyway, I was a member. I was a member,
so I feel like I got the inside track here
on all the all the goings on. It's a member
four years ago, all right. So in order to keep
on track, I'm going to have an external website be
my guide through everything that was announced at the D
(03:34):
twenty three. The entertainment portion of the D twenty three expo.
Is that was going expo? Is it an expo? What
does XPO stand for exposition x X. Whatever one of
two was revealed, I would say disappointed. I'm gonna I'm
gonna rate these with either a disappointed, neutral or excited. Okay,
(04:00):
so one extreme to the other indifferent. In the middle, MA,
wanta two, I'm gonna say disappointed. Uh. I know, it's
just uh, it's the official trailer. It wasn't like a teaser.
I thought she was going to be older. I thought
that the kid in the teaser was going to be
(04:20):
her child, because from the back she in that shot,
at least she looked older. Turns out it it's just
like what a few years later, three years maybe, however
long it's been since this kid, this random kid was
born by her parents, so I guess i'd be long enough.
(04:41):
I mean she was five, maybe five, I don't know.
I don't really care. The Uh it's one of those
trailers where you know they're trying to do that action
open but it's really a joke. It looks like it's
gonna be a lot of jokey things. You know, I'm
(05:02):
on his back, now he's back, everybody's back. It really
just seems like a money grab at this point. It
doesn't seem like anything I would be interested in, you know,
for my kids. I'm not talking about me obviously. It
just doesn't seem like it's that good. So yeah, disappointed. Disappointed.
(05:29):
I thought it was gonna take it into a different direction.
The plot. I mean, okay, so you're looking for more islands.
I mean, okay, is that really okay? All the lost island?
Find the lost island? Okay, whatever? All right after that,
(05:55):
we had The Rock Who's also in Malana two announced
a Monster Jam film. Okay, what.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (06:16):
Monster Jam, everyone's favorite monster truck rally company now has
a Disney logo over it. I don't need I don't
even know what to say. I really, I mean, I
I don't know what to say. Disappointed. Avatar three is
(06:43):
officially titled Avatar Fire and Ash. It is not a
good title. I mean, jeez, it's not a good title.
I don't know. At the time, it's it's a it's
(07:03):
a disappointment as well. Then we had Win or Lose,
which is a Pixar TV show which looks like every
episode has different art styles and actually reminded me of
the Meet the Marshals or whatever whatever that movie is,
(07:24):
except this is like a Little League team, and I
guess they have their own little story sequences and they're
all done in different animations, and it's just like whatever.
I don't even want to I don't know, and I'm
not even gonna be excited. I'm not excited about that.
(07:44):
Why would I be excited about that? Toy Story five
had a little, a little teaser. I was a little confused,
to be honest, So I'll mark this down as neutral
because it was a teaser. Ah, why is Woody in it?
(08:09):
What he's got? So? Why is Woody in it? He
left with he ran away with a circus? Why would
he be in Toy Story five? They gave us some
sort of inclination that it deals with technology taking away imagination,
(08:33):
which is fine. I think it would be ironic if
that they showed a screenshot of like a kid under
a blanket on a tablet. I think it would be
funny if they were watching Disney plus most likely Bluey
on said tablet. That would be funny. All right? What else?
What else? What else? Oh? Hoppers? Yeah, hoppers. Hoppers is
(09:01):
about a little girl who transports her mind into a robot.
Gopher is a gopher, So that's something that's a movie, folks,
(09:21):
That is a movie. Okay, starring John Hamm. They showed
some more footage from Ilio, which supposed to come out
in June twenty twenty five new cast members joining the project. Ah, okay, cool,
(09:49):
I'm gonna go with disappointed on the last two there,
I'm kind of indifferent about this one. Disney Pixar. They
did a little Incredibles three Incredibles three. The reason I'm
(10:10):
not excited for Incredibles three is because I watched Incredibles two,
so therefore I don't really care about Incredibles three. I
will argue that the first Incredibles is incredible if you're
(10:32):
part of the pun. Incredibles two is just there's these sequels,
like a goodness, sequels are not exciting to me. I
don't know why, you know, It's just like they don't
(10:55):
do it right. Some sequels are done very well.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
You know.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
They're like Short Circuit, Short Circuit too, totally different movies. Really,
Gremlins Grimlins two totally different movies. Sequels. They take plays
in the same you know, the same ip but they
stand alone, especially Grimlins, do I'm telling? And Short Circuit too. Uh,
(11:25):
z Utopia too oh, what's an incredible indifferent We'll say
uh z Utopia to clip which I was able to
see a kind of a grainy version of. I don't
even understand h z Utopia. The first film. I was
(11:51):
under the impression that the only anamorphic creatures were mammals, right,
because they didn't really see any birds or any talking fish.
It's not like sing and Sing too, where there's actual
aquatic life that need to be underwater. That are, you know,
(12:14):
whatever sentient. I guess, uh z Utopia. I didn't think
that was part of the deal. I thought it was mammals,
but I guess not because they got like they got
all kinds of weird stuff in that clip that takes
you out of the whole mammal thing. I guess that
(12:35):
was just wrong. I don't know. I just don't remember
any I don't even know if I remember any reptiles
in Utopia. But this one's like full of reptiles to me, birds, reptiles, fish.
But see, if I do the mammal thing, I got
to include like aquatic mammals, I guess hum, See, I'm
(12:58):
running into my own quandary. I just would have stuck
with a land based mammal film. I think, I think
that's what I would have done, and I would have
so there's no creatures. Are the insects? Are they anamorphic?
Do they wear little suits? I mean, where do we
(13:21):
draw the line insects? Is that where we draw on
the line? Say whom I know? Anybody? If you do know,
make sure to send me an email at Ranger Ryan
at outlook dot com and I'll read your answer or
question on the air and that'll be fun for everyone.
All Right. I could have sworn they were insects in
(13:43):
the first film, and they were just insects. I just
don't know where you draw the line. Okay, what they do.
Let's see Frozen three concept art. Okay, in Frozen two
ruined any excitement for Frozen three. They did do a
(14:05):
lot of stage announcements, right, Frozen Broadway, Hercules Broadway, the
Greatest Showman stage adaptation. Pretty straightforward for those two, honestly.
And then last thing, I don't want to talk about
twenty three. It's been fifteen minutes. We're fine. Well, we're
(14:29):
trying to keep these No Joe episodes short because nobody
can deal with me too long. I went on Skeleton
Crew Okay, Skeleton Crew had a was it a teaser?
It's pretty long for a teaser. It's listed, Okay, it's
official trailer. Okay, the here's what bothers me about it. Okay,
(14:59):
I'm happy, you know, we just did a Star Wars episode.
I'm happy that there's something I can casually watch week
to week with my kids Star Wars related that's targeted
towards them. Okay, that isn't like Jedi, like that Young
Jedi Academy show or whatever. Something that's not like preschool.
(15:24):
So it's like a show. But the world reminds me
so much of Guardians of the Galaxy threes world with
all those animal people, and it's just there's something about
it's off putting, you know, seeing like a milk truck
(15:44):
and the Star Wars galaxy throwing a newspaper on a
green lawn, and you question the timeline of this and
why aren't they under like empire rule or whatever, you know, like,
where have we ever seen anything like this in the
(16:05):
Star Wars universe? We have not. Everything is very very
you know spacey, right, and these are like little house
little ranch houses with like aluminum siding and people taking
(16:25):
the bus to school and riding a bike ish yeah, yeah,
and then they get trapped in a ship that takes off.
(16:46):
Do they have parents? I'm just I'm beyond confused by
this project. I will watch it. I will. I'll do
a review episode right after our because it is something
that has been a theme, especially as we continue on.
(17:07):
There's some more Star Wars things I need to talk
about based off of my kids recent we'll talk about it.
I'll wait till I'm will too. I'll wait till Judge
j JT gets back before we get into that. But
this is a very confusing project. It's a little bit
(17:32):
of Goonies et Stranger Things vibes, right, but it's got
Jedi a Jedi, it's got you know, different alien races
from the the universe. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (17:56):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
I'm like, I'm weird and out by this entire series.
But I do think it'll be good content. I do
think it'll be good, good for me to talk about.
All right, So let's spin the wheel. Let's see where
we're at on the wheel situation. Because it is it's
(18:20):
a nice it's a nice palate cleanser. After listening to
me for fifteen twenty minutes, something to you know, just
something fun. You know, I want to do something fun,
and the best way for me to do that is
through the power of artificial intelligent music, which is let
(18:42):
me get to my spinner up. Where is it? Right?
Lets give it a spin here. As far as topics,
you know, we talked about a lot of different things,
(19:05):
so I'm not really sure which way it's gonna go.
But I can always do a random topic. I could
do a I could do a wheel with a random topic. Okay,
because here that's really quick. All right, let's do a topic.
(19:27):
Here's a topic wheel. Animals. Yeah, yeah, we'll do animals
because I talked about Utopia two and I got really confused,
as I've got an animal wheel and a music wheel,
so let me do music.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
All right, all right, techno techno techno A right, and
let me do this, and we'll.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
Do a animal. This is a big wheel. I guess
there's a lot of animals, and I guess they're all
anamorphic in Zutopia universe. All right, here we go spin
(20:20):
Polar Bear, Polar Bear techno Zutopia to confusing me just
as much as I hope this song confuses you. Get
that put together. As always, Thank you for listening, and
(20:42):
I look forward to talking to you next time without
Judge J in session. So we will. He's trying to
change his name back to JT and I won't let him.
Maybe I will since he appears to be on strike. No,
he's he's actually doing something important, all right, So we will.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
I don't know what we're going to talk about next time,
but we will and I'll be here. So until then,
thank you for listening.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Be well, Run Bar Bar and the Arctic Talk Bar.
Speaker 5 (22:03):
On the night, everybody go wild when the base hits
the ground. Feel the cold rush when the bears make
their sound. Everybody go wild when the base hits the ground.
Feel the cold rush when the bears make their sound.
When the lights go down.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
In the.
Speaker 5 (22:33):
Free marching through the knights where the stars don't see,
in the Arctic Grip, where the wild find pas shadows,
(22:53):
glide on the ice cream sea scene, feel the pulse,
relaycrus brain. Everybody a wild, Bring the bass, it's the Crown.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Feel the cool rush when.
Speaker 5 (23:13):
The bears make their sound. Everybody go wild, Bring the bass,
It's the Crown.
