A world that buzzes, clicks, and swipes,
Where every moment’s on display,
Can pull the mind in endless types,
And steal the calm of every day. The scrolling feeds, the constant hum,
A flood of faces, voices, news,
Can leave the heart and spirit numb,
With truths distorted, lies confused. But there’s a place beyond this noise,
Where stillness waits, a gentle friend,
Away from all the scrolling toys,
Where frantic thoughts can start to mend. So, close the apps, and step outside,
Feel sunlight warm upon your skin,
Let nature’s whispers be your guide,
And let the quiet draw you in. For in the silence, truth is found,
A deeper calm, a breath of grace,
No likes or shares, no chasing sound,
Just you, yourself, in sacred space. Disconnect to reconnect,
With who you are, and what you need,
To find the peace you may suspect,
Is buried in the constant feed.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
And now with Fright Ryan do days there two break
the Silent Night, firty Fiant podcast, Way their beer too,
sigh up there too, out.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Your due right, Hello and welcome to the Ranger Ryan Show.
Thank you for being here with me today. Thank you,
and by myself, by myself again, I did get some confirmation,

(00:47):
but I'm not going to to hold my breath. But
JT Judge Jay himself should be back next week. So
that does mean you have two more episodes of Just
Me and I'll just keep talking about very personal things
on this personal journal podcast. Today, I wanted to talk

(01:14):
about social media. Social media, as you know, I'm not
I walked away from Facebook in twenty fifteen, so I've
been I've been out of the loop for quite some time.
And you know, my wife has had to kind of

(01:35):
handle people messaging her making sure that one we're still
married to that I'm alive and well some people I
used to work with, because I mean it was really
the only way to keep track of people that you
used to work with, right, Like that was like the
big thing, Like people you worked with for I don't know,

(01:57):
a year at one store. Since I came from a
retail background and the only way to keep up and
the only way to promote this podcast with my fellow
retail employees, because I have I have done shows primarily
with people I worked with, was through Facebook, and you know,

(02:20):
since my departure from social media, I started things back
up right with the podcast, just because it's a new
a new formats, you know, the personal journal. Usually we
talked about we talked about video games, they talked about
you know, just kind of pop culture things, and that
will come up eventually if I ever get a co host.

(02:43):
But as far as you know, this is just talking, right,
It's just talking you and I about things that have
happened to me. So I wanted to start from scratch,
you know. I put a Facebook page, zero likes. I
mean it's not there's no traction because I'm not putting

(03:05):
any money into it. I got a Twitter again, which
is not called Twitter anymore, but it's still called a tweet,
I believe. So yeah, I have an X account for
the podcast, this new podcast. I got Instagram, and then

(03:28):
of course the YouTube. I always kept YouTube. I never
really considered YouTube a social media platform, so I've never
gone away from YouTube. I have two YouTube accounts farthest
from studios, which if you haven't, we do artificial intelligence
driven trailers of modern films but if they were done

(03:51):
in the past, which is what I've focused on. And
my personal YouTube, which is Ranger Ryan Show, which is
primarily old podcast episodes, very lazily animated. That is the
best way to describe it. So after doing that, I

(04:18):
kind of forgot how toxic everything was. And I don't
like follow anybody, right, you know, I think on Twitter
I follow some YouTubers. Maybe I don't even know. I
don't think I really follow anyone. I follow some I

(04:40):
guess I follow some YouTubers that have product and I
follow the product page just because I kind of wanted
to get away from like the personal element of people's posts,
and I figured i'd be safe. But I tell you,
I'm having I'm having a hard time dealing with all

(05:01):
the negativity that I'm experiencing through social media and being
you know, I've been away for ten years from social media,
you know, so I'm just like not really used to it,
you know, I'm not used to the nastiness. And I

(05:22):
don't know if it's because it is an election year,
which I do know does fuel a lot of debate.
I'm going to be nice debate online as far as
opinions on people, be them running or not, or just

(05:45):
really negative environments. So it's been really kind of I
don't know, it's been weighing on me quite a bit.
I'm not going to delete, but I really just wanted
to do this episode so everyone would know why I
don't post anything. It's like, hey, I followed you on X,
but you've never posted on X and your account is

(06:10):
like a month old, so what are you doing. You
don't retweet, you don't react whatever it's called. Yeah, and
I'm just not going to maybe in December January. I
just I think I need to take the accounts exist,

(06:31):
but I think I'm going to take an actual break
from getting on them. So I would invite you if
you do want to get involved in the show, just
because I'm not really online with the social media accounts,
not that anybody's following them, but get the show on Spotify,

(06:55):
take part in the polls and leave comments and I
can react those comments very quickly. I have notifications on
on my phone and that is really probably going to
be my go to for any sort of interactivity with
this show. So all The interactions will be via Spotify.

(07:17):
Every single episode will have a poll, and the more
you comment, the more that I can respond and get
your feedback. Prefer positive feedback. But you know, if you
have some criticisms, I'm open to that. I do know.
The last time I got a negative review, I quit
doing the podcast altogether. So if that inspires you to

(07:40):
leave a comment to get this show off the air,
feel free. That is perfectly acceptable. It's your right to
do so, and we'll see how I react. But I
know the poll. I'd like the polls to drive the topics,
and I think I only have one respect so far.

(08:01):
Let me look it up Spotify for podcasters, and if
I go to an episode, I can click down here. Yeah,
I have one response on the polls. Performance is good.
I mean it's you know, it's a pretty young podcast still,

(08:24):
but we have one and they want us to talk
about what is this? Which poll is the response to?
This is the good thing about having an independent podcast? Music? Okay,
And I'm not sure if they're referencing music in general

(08:49):
or if they're responding to my artificial intelligence music. So
this is what we'll do. It's the only response I've
had from Chris. That's all I have is a first name, Chris,
no location. But Chris would like us to talk about music.
So next episode I will cover my artificial intelligence music.

(09:10):
This is a you know, live commitment to making the
show audience driven and granted. And I have one audience member, Chris,
and I look forward to making the next episode just
for that individual. I'm not going to assume gender. We'll
just go with Chris, all right. Speaking of social media,

(09:35):
my wife and I were watching My wife and I
were watching Chimp Crazy on Max. If you have not
watched it, I would recommend it. It is from the
same producer director of Tiger King, and it is quite show.

(10:01):
It is so far, so good. And anyway, so we're
watching Chip Crazy Chimp Crazy, and my wife asked us.
She said something to the effect that she got an
email saying that her Instagram had unusual activity. So it

(10:25):
is I guess paused or blocked. I don't know. So
she was like, whatever, I don't know what they're talking about.
The following day she logs in and she finds out
that I don't even know how this works because I'm not,
you know, a hacker or anything. So she logs in

(10:48):
and apparently she sent out links to a website to
website in a different language to like one hundred people
under her name. And my first my first thought is Okay, nuke,
nuke the whole thing. Delete your account, delete your email,
delete your But that's how I respond to things. I'm not.

(11:13):
I'm not very level headed, kind of a scorched earth
kind of person when it comes to uh, you know,
like when we were cleaning out, well, we're going through
like all the toy bins in the house, and my
immediate response to an entire bin would be donate, but

(11:35):
instead we have to go through each thing and see
if the kids really play with something. Still, like whatever,
just donate all of it. Donate the bin itself, everything
in it, the storage container, the drapes, whatever, everything. And
it's not like we we can afford to replace anything,

(11:57):
so maybe maybe not everything. Probably keep those nasty bins,
but I'd like them to be empty because we have
a lot of stuff that has accumulated over you know,
the two children, over the twelve years right that we've
had our family, and it's a lot of stuff, and

(12:19):
nobody needs that much stuff, and I would much rather
donate it to either you know, church that we do
have an option with church, just because someone at our
church had a home burned down and the child has
no toys, and I'm like, perfect opportunity for us to
give back. And we did that, just a handful of

(12:42):
like the nicest things. They really didn't deep dive into
the like bin of McDonald's quality toys, which is fine.
You know, we'll get there, but when we do, I'd
prefer to just donate it. Of course, we have several
options for donating toys, and I'm not sure which one

(13:03):
we'll go with, but we'll just as long as we
do it as opposed to just sitting on these things anyway,
scorched Earth, that's my approach to things. She got her
account hacked, I guess, and I think she went through.
She was sitting there through an entire episode. What else

(13:25):
were we watching? Oh, our only Murders in the Building.
Two episodes? Yeah, we watched two episodes and she was
doing the whole thing the whole time, trying to reset
all of her passwords and everything. And since then we
had to rewatch them just because she wasn't able to
pay attention. Amazing show. It's still amazing. I'm so happy
that they did not sell out, and well they we'll see,

(13:51):
we'll give it time. And it's never too late for
a show to jump the shark, in my opinion. So anyway,
she got that all fixed, and I'm like, see, this
is just not worth it. You know, it's not worth
what is? What is? What do you do on Instagram? Right? Like,
I don't know what she does. I think she just
looks at funny videos and sends them to me and

(14:14):
I have no way to look at them. And I'm like, okay,
so I had to log into the podcast Instagram just
to view whatever she sends me. And it's never really
worth it because they're, you know, these short little things
and it's not worth it, especially with the year it

(14:35):
is and the time of year it is. It's not
worth it. So if I do not post, do not
be afraid. I am there, but I am not going
to be logging in. I'm just going to interact via
Spotify comments, which it's very easy to do if you

(14:58):
have the Spotify app. You just kind of log in
and click on an episode and leave a comment and
I will either heart it or I will reply to it,
and we will get this podcast in real in like
a real interactive zone, you know, because I think that's important,

(15:21):
and I do not think social media is important. I
guess it would. You know. That's probably why I only
have four subscribers, is because I don't care about social media.
But that's you know, that's something I'm willing to sacrifice.
All right, let's get the spinny wheel here. Let's get

(15:42):
the spinny wheel music genre spin wheel, spindwheel, dot app
slash music dash genres. If you were looking for a
you know, if you want to play along at how
all right, and let's mean I don't. I can't have

(16:06):
my speaker up or it'll we'll get back. Alternative. It's
pretty open. It's pretty open category. Hmm okay, well alternative
to me that kind of.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
That.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
That could mean a lot of different things. So mainly
this episode I talked about social media. Next episode i'll
talk about based off of the recommendation by Chris, I'll
be talking about music. So speaking of music, let's hear
an alternative track created by me post recording that apparently

(16:51):
is going to be about what are we talked about?
Just like every time? All right, alternative can't wait until
next time? Then thank you for listening. Next time there
will be no judge Jay, no JT. But hopefully a
week from today we'll be back together to talk about
where he's been this entire three weeks. It'll be all right.

(17:15):
So until next time, thank you as always for listening.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Be well.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
I'll not till November. I can't take Tony's scrawling dru opinions.
I guess just a choice. Whire wrapped around me, constricting
so tight, day up, plug my senses, where's the end
in sight? Caught in the grid, can't break away, screens

(18:07):
pulling me in night and day connections everywhere. Yeah, I
feel so alone, stuch in this.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
World, far from home.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
Right, screens of chaos tearing through my mind, radio way streaming,
no peace. I can find social feeds in frenzy shoots,
all left behind, searching for my solace in the quiet.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
A'll unwined off my fill. November I can't take to no.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Scrolling through opinions. I guess just a choice.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Election year madness.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Everyone's a voice shutting down the drama. Canna hear my
own voice
