Speaker 1 (00:06):
This is the Region one Sports Report with Brian York
on ninety nine to five the Fad.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
And here we go on a Friday. That's right, it's Friday.
It is a Friday.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (00:19):
October seventeenth edition of the Region one Sports Report?
Speaker 3 (00:22):
My goodness? Where is time going?
Speaker 2 (00:24):
October seventeenth of Region one Sports. I'm Brian York. As always,
you can get in touch with the show on our
social media pages or by texting us, and several of
you do. And we are so happy for that. Two
seven oh five three four forty three oh eight. That's
two seven oh five to three four forty three oh eight.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
How are you? How are we doing on a Friday?
Speaker 2 (00:44):
And we've got a lot to get into for a
Friday show. It's an eventful show because we've got champions
in the first Region soccer champs have been crowned for
Region one, another upset in the in the regional tournament.
We'll get to that. It's football Friday. Maybe it's back.
We've been on a two week hiatus. We had fall break,
so it's been a minute since we've seen those boys
(01:05):
of Fall on the field.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
So I'm excited. I'm rare to go.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
This is really and truly the first day of the week,
the first day of the entire week that I've been
in like just a good mood to I don't know
if it's the Friday effect. I think it is, but
I've just been in a good mood for the first
time all week. I got to tell you about my
Wednesday real quick, and you'll kind of know the week
I've had just real quick.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
We'll get into everything here in a moment.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
So on Wednesday, now, I've had an issue with my
truck a few weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
We thought we got fixed.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
That was the engine temperature was wanting to run a
little hotter than it should, and the coolant temp was
running a little hotter than it should. The fan was
running a little bit more than it should, and we
tried to figure it out. It wasn't leaking cooling anywhere,
wasn't like the fan. Everything was working. So we changed
the thermostat, changed the temperature sensor, didn't fix it. Went
(01:54):
to a mechanic, found that it had an air pocket
in the hose, so they messed with it.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
They burped the line, they got it flowing.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Everything was good, it was great, it was fine, went
on vacation, no big deal. All week this week, I've
been smelling Anna freeze and found I had a leak.
We hope think it's the water pump, could be the radiator,
but we found that actually probably that was the root
of that problem to begin with.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
It's just now starting to leak.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Okay, fine, So that happens on Wednesday, I realize I
got a leak.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
This is not a good day.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
And then thirty minutes later my wife caused me. It says, hey,
the check engine line on my car came on, And
I was like, are you kidding me? Are you kidding me?
What else can happen today? And that was all before
eight am on Wednesday. It's been that kind of week,
Like every day feels like it's like, man, when it rains,
it pours, and I don't know if I have a
shelter big enough this week to keep the rain off right.
(02:43):
But it's Friday. We're in a good mood today. Football
Friday champions have been crowned. It's reaching one sports. It's
the thing we love, it's the thing I love. So
let's get into it. I said, we had another upset.
Now we're going to get to the boys. Game in
just a moment. That one happened last night. It's the
most free I get it, give me a second. But
the girls regional tournament, it got not fully blown up.
(03:07):
Callaway was one of the favorites. They get knocked out
in the first round. There's an upset. Who knocked them
out McCracken County. We said, it's danger time. You're playing
the regional tournament at their facility on turf, something they're
used to and they were the underdog and they won. Now,
I said, going to the regional tournament though that even
though Calloway was my pick all season, even though Calloway
(03:28):
was having a phenomenal year. And by the way CALLOWI
folks hear me out what the best year in school history.
I think it was the first time they ever won
a district championship. They had the best record in the region.
They had wins over everybody. I mean, they beat Marshall
County in the regular season. They were the best team
in the regular season. Phenomenal year. But I said going
(03:49):
into the tournament, the team that tends to win it
the most has always been Marshall County. They're the favorite.
It's their time of year. So Calloway gets upset. Marshall's
still alive. They go to Wednesday Night and they run
into the same issues that Calloway did. You're playing McCracken,
who's not been great this year, but they've been very,
(04:10):
very good, You're playing them on turf, and you're playing
them at their place. It all leads all signs points
to upset, and we had an upset one nil. McCracken
County played two regional tournament games. They upset the two
better teams in the region all year, and they beat
(04:31):
them by a combined two nil. I don't know what's
more impressive. I think it's been. It's pretty impressive that
they shut out both teams. I mean, think about this.
Callaway County led the region and goals scored and was
second and the fewest goals allowed. They had one hundred
and twenty five goals scored on the season that nobody
else crossed that threshold. Nobody else had more than seventy four.
(04:53):
But they had one hundred and twenty five goals scored.
They get nada in game one. Marshall County was second
in the region with seventy four goals scored. They got
not a nothing zilch in the championship game. It's pretty
impressive stuff. Pitching two shutouts against the two best offenses
in the region. Pretty impressive stuff. And McCracken County is
(05:18):
your regional champ. McCracken County is hoisting the trophy again
this season. Eleven seven and two on the year, officially
the third best offense in the region, but McCracken had
given up twenty one goals in the regular season. That
was let's see third, you know, third best, but there
are essentially Marshall and Murray were todd and then Callaway
(05:40):
gave up fourteen and here they are, two games, two
goals scored, none giving up regional champs. Bravo McCracken County. Good,
I mean, tip of a cap. All the cliches go
to you. You got it done and you were let's
be honest, let's be you were the third favorite going
(06:00):
into this. You were the third favorite going into it,
and you pull it off. McCracken County Regional champs. On
the girl's side. Stop me if you've heard this before though,
and I just said it, McCracken County's regional champs. That
also rings true on the boy's side, the Mustangs roll
through the regional tournament. Now, once Murray got knocked out,
(06:22):
this thing got blown wide open. Once Marshall County pulled
arguably the biggest upset.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
Of the tournament.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
What McCracken did on the girl's side, pulling two upsets,
that's it.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
That's unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
The biggest upset, single upset of the tournament boys and
girls side of things, was on the boy's side. With
Marshall County beating Murray to one. It blew this thing
wide open. Now, it kind of made McCracken County the
favorite at that point, but they went on and held tight.
They went on and held to it and they beat
Marshall County last night three to one in the championship
(06:58):
to be your regional champs. In fact, scores for them,
we're three to one. The lady Mustangs win one nil
each game. McCracken County Boy Mustangs. On the boy's side,
they go three to one against Callaway and three to
one against Marshall County. They are your regional champs. So
that's where things stand again in soccer, it's all done
in the region. McCracken County will move on and play
(07:20):
in the state, both of the boys and the girls side.
All right, I'm up against the break. It's an earlier
break than we normally take, but I'm running behind this morning,
just a full heads up, so I gotta take the break.
We'll come back. We've got more. This is Region one Sports.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
The Region one Sports report on all major podcast platforms,
and ninety nine to five of the fan.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
That's right, champions.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
They have been crowd in the first region, McCracken County
MC square MC. They own the soccer world this year
once again McCracken County champs with the boys and the
girl's side. Okay, full disclosure. I normally have other scores
to talk about.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
The KHSAA scoreboard was not working at this exact moment.
It probably will be here in about five minutes. That's
how it goes. But I don't have the other scores yet.
So we will move on on our Friday show and
in our Friday coverage, and we will talk high school
football for this Friday. Can you believe, because I cannot.
We are in week nine of the football season, three
(08:30):
games left in the regular season. This thing is all over.
Basketball season is not just creeping up on us. It's
coming like a freight train. You can hear that thing
coming from a mile away.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
It's here. Practices, of course, have already started. But we're
in it. Man.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Here we go. Another school year seems to be just
flying by. But week nine of the football season. I
gave you the matchups earlier on Wednesday. We'll go through
these again in a moment. But I think, for me,
just my opinion, maybe it's just the marsh County native
Graves County voice coming out, but Marshall versus Graves this
week is the game of the week. Maybe maybe it's
(09:08):
because I'm in both communities. Maybe it's because once upon
a time and a land far far away, in a
time far far away, I once wore the orange and
blue with the star helmets. By the way, I'm old school.
Maybe we had the star helmets with the with the
m overlaying the star. And maybe it's because because that
was once my past and my present has me bleeding
(09:31):
blue like nobody else. My present has me flying like
an eagle like nobody else that I think this is
the game of the week. It's my favorite one of
the year. It's my favorite one of the year because
two worlds collide. For me, two communities that I'm involved
in collide. It's at Marshall County. Always fun, I am
you know, I don't want to. I'm not giving you
(09:51):
my address. I'm about eighteen minutes from Graves County High
School where I live. I'm about twelve minutes from Marshall
County High School. So when I go to Graves, that's
a home game. When I'm at Marshall, it's a little closer,
but it's a home game.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
So for me, this is great. This is an awesome
Friday night.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
I don't have to leave my house at three o'clock
to get to a road game.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
I don't have to. Like, this is great, two worlds collide,
Marshall and Graves.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
But it's also it is a big rivalry and there
are so many things on the line tonight. I mean,
this is playoff implications here. The winner of this game
is gonna make the playoffs and the loser is most
likely not. With three games left, two games left in
the district, each of these teams has to get this win.
For Graves, they've got to get this win, and of
(10:36):
course win at Miehlenberg next week. But for Marshall, if
they don't get this win, it's probably not gonna matter.
So that fourth seed in the playoffs, that playoff spot
is up for Grahams tonight in the rivalry game.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
What else do you have? You have a win streak
on the line tonight.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Twenty years since Marshall County has won a game in
this series, Graves County is going for their twentieth consecutive
win in the series, a win streak that officially began
in two thousand and six. The last time Marshall County
won this game was the year two thousand and five.
I know most of you listening were five years old,
(11:14):
but two thousand and six the win streak began. They're
going for their I said twentieth. What would that mean?
Officially nineteenth consecutive, but nonetheless it's been a couple of decades,
and this is a year that if you're Marshall County.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
You feel good. You should feel good.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
You feel like you're a team that should have at
least four wins right now. You feel like you should
be four and three. Nonetheless, you're three and four. But
Graves County's over here with a one in six record,
I'm gonna level with you. They've played a better schedule.
Their schedule has been tougher than yours. That is undisputable. However,
(11:49):
they're one and six, you're three and four. And at
the end of the day, where tough schedules prepare you
for tough teams. Don't get me wrong, I'm a full
believer in that tough schedules will prepare you for tough teams,
tough opponents, tough tough outings. There is something to be
said about having more wins in the win column. There
is a mental effect to that as well, a confidence
(12:13):
that comes with that as well, whereas the other side
may be more tested, but their confidence may be more
shaken because they don't have the wins. So Graves comes
in and I tried to look this up yesterday, and
I didn't go back as far as I wanted to.
But I don't remember a time, at least not since
the wind streak began. I don't think there has been
(12:35):
a time that Marshall County has had a better record
than Graves County going into this game, and it's this year,
and the game is at Marshall County. The game is
at Marshall County. You got home field. Now, I would
argue maybe that puts more pressure on you. We're sitting
here saying that you should feel good, that you should
(12:57):
feel like you've got this this year, your time here,
you go, you in the streak and you continue to
put Marshall County Football back on the map or back
to relevance. But at the same time, it kind of
puts the pressure on you because you've been hearing it's
your time. You've been hearing what I just said. All
(13:18):
things are lining up for you. You do have the
better record, it is at your place. You are an
improved football team. This is a down year for Graves
County Football. But it feels like people are telling you, hey,
this window is open.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
Man.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
That pressure to get it done with that window open,
that can pile up on you as well. So you
could take that argument. You could say Graves is playing
with the pressure because they've got the wind streak on
the line, because they've had the tough year, because it's
on the road. You could argue Marshall's playing with the
pressure because they they know this is a year where
(13:56):
this series could go back to their favor. You can
make the argument either way. You could say that Graves
maybe isn't playing with that pressure. Maybe they are playing loose,
Maybe they are playing confident. Maybe they're looking at it
and saying, who said this should favor Marshall County. We've
had the streak, we've been better, we are better. We'll
show it tonight. So it's a lot of fun tonight.
(14:20):
This matchup's gonna be a lot of fun. Big rivalry,
longtime rivalry, playoff implications. I don't remember the last time
this game meant that. I don't remember the last time
this game actually had an effect on the postseason. That's
what makes a good rivalry. You can be two schools
that don't like each other. You can be Mayfield in Graves,
But in football, that game doesn't mean anything. That's not
(14:43):
a rivalry. In football, that's just two schools that don't
like each other. That's just two parts of that community
that want to beat each other. This is where you
truly talk about being a rival because that win and
that loss means everything for the rest of you, your year.
That's what makes it cool tonight. That's what makes it
(15:05):
very cool. Now, let's get into the game. Let's let's
kind of get into the nuance of the game Marshall
County and some of this will be repeated from Wednesday.
But Marshall County has been a little bit better on
offense this year. Again they've not played the same schedule.
It's apples to oranges a little bit. But what's been
in front of Marshall County is they throw the football
about one hundred and nine yards per game, seven touchdowns,
(15:27):
five picks. They run the football at one to eighty
three a game with sixteen rushing touchdowns. They are a
good running football team and they don't have one guy
doing it. You know, Jake Thomasin is at like seventy
six yards a game. He's been very good as a
sophomore wins it. A sophomore is at fifty three yards
a game holland a senior at fifty one yards per game.
So they really do kind of have three guys they
(15:49):
can They feel like they can give the football too
in different situations for different reasons and get production out
of them. It's it truly is a team effort. They
do have big physical receivers. There is an advantage there
when you have big physical receivers and overall, Marshall County
has big, physical players. On the flip side, you look
(16:12):
at Graves County, the struggle has been moving the football.
The struggle has been in the offensive side of things.
Eighty two yards passing per game, two touchdowns, six picks,
seventy six yards rushing per game with eight rushing touchdowns.
Now here's a little Caveat the last time Graves County
took the field, they had over two hundred yards of offense.
(16:34):
Keep in mind they averaged like one to twenty a game,
but they had one hundred and fifty three passing yards
their best performance of the season eighty six rushing yards.
So total offense better than it had been most of
the season, the passing game way better than it had been.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
Something to keep in mind for tonight.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Where I think the advantage for Marshall is in their size,
their physicality between the trenches, between the tackles. I think
the advantage for Graves is on the edge, in the
skills with the defensive backs, with the receivers, with the
ability of the quarterback to get outside the pocket and
(17:15):
make a play, with the ability of the running backs
to get outside the tackles and get downfield. Skills for Graves,
size for Marshall, I think this game is going to
come down to field position. I don't know, you know,
Graves defense has been killer all year. If Graves can
keep Marshall County with a long field, that certainly favors
(17:37):
Graves County. So I think whichever offense ends up with
the shorter field most of the night is going to
be the team that wins. You know, if your average
drive is forty or fifty yards, you've got a much
better chance in this game both teams than if you're
you're staring down eighty yards seventy yards. So field position,
(17:59):
for me, is what the game comes down to. You're
probably looking You're probably looking at about four possessions each
in the first half. These are two teams that are
gonna want to control clock, gonna want to control field position,
and the team that does that, again is gonna win.
So I think each team kind of knows you're probably
getting four, maybe five, I would stretch it to say six,
(18:21):
but probably gonna get about five offensive series in the half.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
That's not a lot.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
So again, if you can be that team that pins
that other team down, you're gonna be the team that
wins this game. That's what this game is gonna come
down to, whoever has the best starting field position throughout
the night, it's gonna get the win. Of course, I'm
picking my Eagles, but I told you, I told you
four five, six weeks ago. This game worries me this year.
(18:50):
I just have a feeling. But I still believe in
my Eagles. I believe they're gonna get the win tonight.
I believe they got a chance to even win out.
Maybe McCracken looming at the end of the year, but
this season is still salvageable for Graves, for Marshall, you've
been stuck at three wins. They have not had more
than a three win season since twenty seventeen. And it's
(19:10):
still ahead of you tonight, and it's on the table
four five, there's a path to six. I just don't
think it's likely you could still get to five and impressive,
and it's pretty impressive you've put yourself in this position.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
Good for you.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
All right, got to take another break. I'll come back.
We've got more. But that's the Marquee matchup tonight. That's
our game of the week. We'll come back with the rest.
Right here, it's Region one.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Region one sports. We know local because we are local.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Region one sports.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
We roll along on your Friday edition of the show,
Brian Yorke. Here again, the number to text if you
want to get in touch with us is two seven
oh five three four forty three eight two seven oh five,
three four forty three oh eight. I'm reaching that time
of the week where I'm starting to lose my voice,
which is what you want when you go into a
football Friday. You know, I got a whole lot of
(20:12):
broadcasting ahead of me, so yay.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Nonetheless, let's get into more.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
We've got more games tonight, I think again, Graves Marshall
to me, the intrigue, take take my role out of this,
take my communities out of this. I think it is
the game of the week. I think it is the
big game tonight. Now, there are other good games tonight.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
There are other.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Games on the schedule tonight. Let's not forget them. There's
a lot of away games on the schedule tonight. Calloway
County goes to Allen County Scottsville. Allen County Scotsvill is
not a good football team. This is an opportunity for
Calloway County to go get Are you ready for this.
I don't think you can handle it. Calloway County is
gonna go win game number five tonight. They are gonna
get their fifth win of the season tonight. Now probably
(20:53):
not gonna get win number six next week you got
Tillman not but but might get win number six against
Marshall County. Boy, can you imagine? Can you imagine? Let's
say Marshall pulls the upset over Graves tonight. It'd still
be an upset because they haven't beat them in nineteen years.
But let's say they pull the upset tonight over over Graves.
(21:15):
Let's say they beat Apollo next week, which is still
on the table, and you go into that game with
Marshall and Callaway both seeking a sixth win of the season,
both seeking a winning season. You can't script this stuff,
but that could very well happen. Marshall could be going
(21:35):
in looking for their fifth win. Callaway they're six. I
mean a lot of fun things could be happening in
that game to close out the year. The Callaway County
is gonna go get win number five tonight. They have
a shot. They have a shot. With three games left
to win six games on the season, they were winless
last season. They had gone a year and a half
in between wins. Good for them, good for that program,
(21:55):
good for where they are, good for the future of
that program. Now look at Callaway County going into tonight's matchup.
One hundred and seventy eight yards passing per game, fifteen touchdowns,
seven picks. They run the football at one to ninety
four a game with twenty two rushing touchdowns, while you
have Logan Smith, who is a senior, who is averaging
one to fifty one a game in sixteen touchdowns. Just
(22:18):
keep getting the football to that kid, and good things
are gonna happen. And that's what's gonna happen tonight. They're
gonna go beat Allen County Scotsvil. The Patriots are winless
on the year. They give up like thirty something points
a game. They've only scored fourteen in two games. I'm
not saying fourteen total in two let me rephrase that
the most offense they've mustered in a single game all season.
(22:40):
They scored fourteen against Monroe County, they scored fourteen against
More in East, thirteen against More in Central, and then
four games where they've been held to less than ten points.
They're not a good football team. Calloway County's gonna go
on the road. Got a long way to travel and
get a win. Sixty five yards passing per game, twenty
five yards rushing per game. Yikes, that's tough.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
That's tough.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
So Callaway's gonna go get a win tonight. Murray High
is gonna go and have a good game tonight. You
know we talk about Markie matchups. This one's the undercard
for me. This one's right below that main event status.
Murray High has taken on Union County. Union County is
four and three on the season. Now, they are not
(23:26):
Union County from a year ago. They're not Union County
from two years ago. But Braves football is still expecting
wins and they are four and three on the year.
Common opponent has been McCracken and Graves County. They lost
to Graves County at Graves nineteen fifteen. They lost to
McCracken County forty nine to twenty five. That game was
at home. Murray beat Graves thirty two to fourteen. They
(23:48):
beat McCracken County fifty nine to fifty six. Murray's gonna
score a lot of points. In this game because Murray
scores a lot of points in every game. That's just reality,
and I don't think Union County can score enough points.
I think this truly is a game tonight where Murray's
offense is better than Union County's defense, and Union County's
offense is never good enough to get into a shootout.
(24:09):
So that may be what you're looking at tonight. The
Tigers on the season, To give them their due, they
are throwing the football at two hundred and fifty five
yards per game, twenty two touchdowns, one interception, two hundred
and eight yards rushing per game with twenty three rushing touchdowns.
Union County, the Braves, they are throwing the football at
(24:32):
just sixty two yards per game. They do run the
football at two fifty one per game with nineteen touchdowns.
But if Murray's scoring quick or with a more high
paced offense, if they're moving the football at at a
better pace, it's just hard for Union's offense to even
keep up with that.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Murray wins.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
I think they win by three, four, five scores, depending
on how things fall at the end. Murray wins, and
keep mind it's that Union County not easy Murray's gonna win,
all right. Moving on, what else we got tonight? What's
Tilman doing tonight? I've already lost my schedule, so we're
gonna do this team by team Tillman. They are playing
(25:11):
Warren East. Warren East is not good. Two wins on
the season for Warren East so far. Tilman was just
the one loss the Blue Tornado. Again, this is on
the road. Always a little bit of a tough thing
when you go on the road on a long road trip.
But the Blue Tornado they tend to take that offense
with them. They're averaging three hundred and fifteen yards per game,
twenty seven passing touchdowns, ten picks, one hundred and fifty
five yards rushing per game with fifteen rushing touchdowns. Their
(25:35):
opponent tonight, Warren East the Raiders, in case you were curious. Again,
two wins on the season. They are two and five.
Throwing the football a two hundred and eleven yards a game,
running at one forty nine a game. It's not a
bad offense. It's not bad at all. They can't stop anybody.
That's their problem. I mean, they've had listen to this.
(25:58):
They lost to Warren so tro fifty eight to forty five.
They lost to Calloway County fifty seven to thirty six.
They can move the football, they can't score the football.
They just can't score more than you. That's the problem.
That's what it boils down to. You gotta win the
scoreboard and they lose it. Timan's gonna go on the road.
They're gonna put up. They're gonna put up sixty to night.
They're gonna give up twenty one. They're gonna get a
(26:21):
big win. Moving on Mayfield. Mayfield is on the road
at Trig County. Mayfield one loss on the season, Trig
County one win on the season. The Wildcats are looking
at one hundred and thirty three yards passing per game,
six touchdowns, five picks to twenty per game on the
ground with twenty rushing touchdowns. They have one really good
(26:43):
player on the ground. They have a pretty decent quarterback.
He's just a sophomore. He's only gonna get better. But
too little, too late against Mayfield tonight the Cardinals. They
are looking at offensive totals on the year. Fin get
the computer to load two hundred and six yards passing
per game, twenty touchdowns, two picks, one thirty two on
(27:04):
the ground with nineteen rushing touchdowns. Mayfield goes and gets
another big, probably possibly running clock win tonight. That has
been the last essentially three weeks of Mayfield football. Four
weeks of Mayfield football has been running clock football, all right.
So that's them lot. What about McCracken County. Mukranken County's
(27:25):
got an easy one tonight. They've got Christian County. Christian
County's got one win. Christian County doesn't put their stats online.
Christian County has got their six coach in seven years.
He's an interim coach, but it counts six coach in
seven years. This is a program that we used to
fear playing. This is a program that we used to
look at and go, oh no, we got to play
Christian County. Oh no, We've got to play Christian County
(27:46):
at Christian County, which this game den's at McCracken. But
my point is they were never a fun opponent. They're
kind of a fun opponent now. Their only win on
the year was against Kaverna, who is a one to
a football school who has one win, and it was
a forty to thirty two game. You can't even compete
one to a. It's tough, tough times for Christian County.
(28:08):
It's been weird to see that program fall so far.
I don't have their full stats, so I can't give
them and that's the problem, and that's what I run
into with them. You beg people for your kids. Get
your stats online. This is what happens when you don't.
We can't talk about them, we can't promote them, we can't.
What's amazing is since week three, the only stats they
(28:29):
have online are their win. They don't have a stats
for a loss the week before, they don't have a
stats for the losses after that, but they've got the
one for the win. Nonetheless. McCracken County on the year,
they throw the football at two hundred and twenty five
yards per game, twenty touchdowns, six picks. They run the
football at one fifty eight per game, sixteen touchdowns. They
go tonight at home, they win big, They win big,
(28:51):
They just do all right.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
I feel like I'm running out of teams here. Who
are we missing?
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Let's go to Tom Marshalltok Grahamsuck, Murray Tuck, Tillman talk
Field talking about Craken, What about who else? We got
this ballad of memorial in Fulton County Tonight folks Ballard
and Fulton A one win Fulton County team, a winless
Ballard Memorial team. Fulton County only has two games remaining
(29:16):
because of the schedule they play, so they've got Ballard
tonight and then Russellville next week. Fulton County could win out.
They could end up with three wins. Here Ballard still
has Fulton County, Caverna and Muhlenberg County. This is the
last home game though for the Bombers. The Bombers have struggled.
They give up a lot of points. They have struggled
to move the football and score points. Fifty five yards
(29:38):
passing per game with I don't know how many touchdowns,
seven interceptions, four rushing touchdowns with fifty eight yards on
the ground. Fulton County. They do give up points, but
they have scored points. Their offense and their numbers do
not look bad. Two hundred and five yards on the
in the air, excuse me, fourteen touchdowns ten picks one
(29:59):
to sixty three on the grand with twelve rushing touchdowns
and it's a balanced attack that one sixty three. Their
leading rusher has forty five yards per game, so it's
it's pretty balanced on the ground. Fulton County's gonna get
the win tonight. They travel north, they beat Ballard. I
think they score a lot here. I think they get
into the thirties, into the forties, and again, I think
(30:19):
Ballard just has trouble. I think they may move the
football tonight. This may be a week where Ballard's offense
can do some things. I just don't think they're gonna
do more than Fulton County. Fulton County gets the win,
all right, who man? So those are my picks, those
are my predictions. That's my Friday. That's it. I don't
(30:40):
think we missed anybody. I could be wrong. I think
we got everybody. But that's that's what we've got on
your Friday. I'm taking the Eagles to beat Marshall. I'm
taking Murray to win tonight. I'm taking Callaway to win tonight.
Mc Kraken's gonna get a win tonight. Tilman's gonna get
a win tonight, and then I've got Fulton County over
Ballad more So, that's your Friday. That's your picks, that's
(31:03):
your predictions, those are your stats, those are your games,
wherever you are, whatever you do tonight or the rest
of the weekend, be safe, have fun, enjoy yourself. Talking
about some wind damage potential for Saturday night and some rain.
Take shelter, take cover, be safe, have a fun and
enjoyable weekend, and we will hopefully be here on Monday
