Speaker 1 (00:06):
This is the Region one Sports Report with Brian york
on ninety nine to five the Fad.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Anyway we go.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
This is your Wednesday, October twenty ninth edition of the
Region one Sports Report. I'm Brian Yorke, gonna hope you're
doing fantastic on this Wednesday. It's rain soaked, it's cooler,
it's been that kind of weather. But it's Halloween. It's
upon us, it's here. And I've said this before. I
hate fall. Hate it still hate fall. You know why
I hate fall?

Speaker 3 (00:33):
The weather.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I mean, just look at the last few days. Has
this been pretty? No, and that's all it is. It's gray,
it's rainy, it's gloomy. The leaves are pretty for like
a minute, then the trees become ugly for four or
five months.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Like.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
No, I don't like fall, but I do love Halloween.
I do love Halloween. It is upon us, it is Friday.
I did, however, realize, obviously, with Friday being Halloween, there's
no reason not to trick or treat on Friday except football.
Like a lot of us are gonna be at football games,
myself included. So my favorite thing of the year taking

(01:07):
my kids trick or treating and doing the whole go
through the neighborhood and all of that sort of small
town Americana kind of stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
I don't get to do on Friday.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
I know it's a small price, but still bumps me
out a little bit. Still excited though, because I love Halloween.
But this is your Wednesday edition of the show. We
still have a few days left for that. And as
we get into our Wednesday edition of the show, we've
got things to talk about. We've got volleyball. The championship.
The regional championship is tonight, so we'll recap the first

(01:38):
two rounds and get you caught up on where they
stand going into that regional title game. We've got football.
We've got at least one team in our area who
is withdrawn from the playoffs. So one team in our
area has made the playoffs because of how we do
the playoffs and they've withdrawn.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
I've got thoughts.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
I've got thoughts on why we should do the playoffs
different and this is why, by the way, but also
if this is how the playoffs are gonna be done,
I've got thoughts on what it is to withdraw, and
maybe there's a bigger conversation that should take place there
about the about that program. So we'll talk about that
in a little bit as well, and then of course
start previewing our final week of the regular season, our

(02:15):
last football games for the regular season. We'll talk about
that as well. So plenty to do, plenty to talk about,
plenty coming our way here on Region one Sports. So
without further ado, let's do that thing we do and
let's talk high school sports. Let's get into volleyball action
as we recap and get caught up on what happened
the first two rounds of the volleyball Regional tournament.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Let's just go back.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
We'll stay in order, let's get confused, We'll go back
to the first round and then work our way to
tonight's game. All right, So in the first round, the
first game over at the auxiliary Gym at Callaway County,
you had Graves County taking down host school Callaway County
three nothing so three sets to none. Then it was
Hickman County over CCA in a good one, maybe the

(02:57):
best best matchup so far of the regional tournament, as
Hickman County beat CCA three to two. So that one
more thrilling, more exciting. Then over in the main gym
you had Marshall County over Ballard Memorial three to one,
and then McCracken County over Carlisle County three sets to none.
So that's your first round Graves over Callaway, Hickman Close

(03:19):
over Chris Cca, Marshall over Ballard, and McCracken over Carlisle.
Then you move into last night's matchups. Last night you
had Graves County and Hickman County facing off. Marshall County
McCracken County facing off. Graves County beat Hickman County three
sets to none with scores and I don't usually do this,
but with scores last night of twenty five, twenty one,

(03:41):
twenty five, fifteen, and twenty five to eight, they beat
them and they pulled away from them. That's always a
good sign, not for the team that lost, the team
that won. And then you had McCracken County over Marshall
County three sets to none. They beat them twenty five
to fourteen, twenty five nine, and twenty five seven. So
that sets you up for Graves County and McCracken County

(04:05):
for the ship tonight. Now this is the first meeting
all season because McCracken County doesn't play a lot of
teams in Region one. Because we talked about this Monday.
When you have state and national aspirations, when you are
a program that has won the region year after year
after year and your goal is to win a state title,
you've got to branch out and play the best teams

(04:25):
that you can play, regardless of where they are. Yeah,
I've talked about this before. That's kind of the model
that Marshall County Soccer followed for a lot of those
early years of that program, and what made it so
dominant and so good and has made it what it
is today was they were gonna play the best competition
and a lot of teams in the first Region were
mad that they wouldn't play them or world only play

(04:46):
them once, and they were like, you're not good. We
gotta go play good competition. We got to get better,
we got to set the standard somewhere. And that's kind
of what McCracken has done, honestly, in soccer. That's kind
of what they do in softball, that's what they've done
in volleyball.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
It's really what they do in all sports. So they
have not met this season.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
This will be the first meeting all year between Graves
County and McCracken County. Now, McCracken County will come into
this matchup thirty and seven on the season, ten to
oh in the in the region one games they've played,
and of course eight and oh in district play. Graves
County comes in kind of the tournament upstart, right like
their run really began when they got to tournament play,

(05:27):
or right as they were going into tournament play. And
if you want to talk about, you know, McCracken is
the best team in the region, no doubt about it.
And I do think they will prove that again tonight
because that's what they do. It would be a surprise
if Graves wins. Don't get me wrong. But you want
to talk about best team in the region, taking on
the hottest team at the right time, that's what you get.
You know, there's two ways you win a tournament. You're

(05:48):
either clearly just the best team start to finish and
that happens a lot, or you get hot at the
right time. We see that a lot more in basketball,
Like sometimes in basketball. You know, Marshall County a couple
of years ago when they won the region. On the
boy's side in basketball, they got hot at the right time.
They won their district, which is the toughest district in basketball.
Then they go on to compete well and win the region.

(06:11):
So you've got Graves who kind of has caught fire
become the best team at the right time, and then
mccrack and who is the best team. And my overall point,
you truly have, by both measurements, the two best teams
in the region facing off tonight, the Graves did catch fire.
They are now on a I gotta count it, I
gotta count in real time, which is always fun. One two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

(06:32):
They're on an eight match, eight game win streak. Their
last loss came September twenty seventh, so it has been
a month since they lost. And really this culminated when
they got to district tournament play. They beat Mayfield Rival,
who had played them well in the regular season. Then
they beat Baalert Memorial, the host school who had beat

(06:56):
them in the regular season, and then they go into
the regional tournament, beat a good Calloway County team, beat
a solid Hickman County team, and here they are riding
an eight game win streak for McCracken County. They've again
just been the best team pretty much all season. In fact,
they've only at one point early in the year they

(07:17):
lost three out of four, and again they were playing
teams out of like Illinois and Missouri. They were playing
some nationally ranked, recognized teams. At no point since then
have they lost more than one. They've not had a
losing streak, if you will, at all since September. Again,
they lost two in a row, essentially three out of four,
and then have only at any point when they've lost,

(07:39):
it's been one loss, and then they bounce back with
multiple wins. All that to say, yeah, they're really good.
It's gonna be tough. It is David vs. Golith. It
would have been in that case no matter who played
McCracken County tonight in the region. And you know where
my heart is, go Lady Eagles. My heart beats for you.

(08:00):
Got let's go. But my head and the logic says,
McCracken County does it again. I know, I know they
do it again, But that is tonight, and of course
we'll talk about that and recap it on Friday. Now,
one thing I do want to point out we don't
deep dive into volleyball a lot because like it's fun
to watch, but I don't quite always understand the stats

(08:22):
and how things go. But when you look at Graves
County's roster, and I'm doing this for Graves because McCracken
doesn't have their stats fully up on the website, so
it's it's just harder to talk about it. But you
look at Graves roster, I mean they have a mix,
if you will, of seniors and juniors. This is a
veteran led group, right, Like, they're mostly seniors and juniors

(08:43):
that I know what a kill is. You look at
things like kills and you've got Mary, Kate Miller and
Ellen Morton. One's a junior, one's a senior leading the group,
and then mostly juniors after that, which is good news
for them. So this is a veteran group. This is
a group that should not be overwhelmed by the moments.
And I good athletes, good veterans, former Kraken County. And again,

(09:03):
not all of their stats are up. In fact, none
of their tournament stats honestly are up. But outside of that,
you look at sort of things like kills, you I
mean and their kill leaders have over two hundred kills,
which is incredible. But there are a lot of juniors,
a lot of seniors, mostly juniors leading the charge with
seniors sprinkled in. So two veteran teams facing off tonight.

(09:24):
That's something else to watch, all right, So that catches
us up. That's our volleyball report here on the Region
one Sports Report. We are going to take a break.
We'll come back. Ballards out they are opting out of
the playoffs. We'll talk about that conversation and some of
the conversation we're seeing about that around the state and
get into football previews for the final week the regular season,

(09:45):
that and more when we come back.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
This is Region one Sports.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Sometimes it happens, someone has to deal with it. And
who are you gonna call? Brian York on ninety nine
to five. The fan.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Reads it on in sports as we move along at
your Wednesday edition of the show. All right, so football
coming up on Friday. One of the stories that broke yesterday,
and you'll see this a lot. I mean this is
I think three teams officially across the state have are
in the playoffs but have withdrawn from the playoffs or
participating in the playoffs, and one of those is Ballard Memorial.
They officially withdrew from the playoffs last night, so Ballard

(10:32):
is out.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
Now.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
That of course raises a lot of discussion across the state,
and people have their opinions and all their valid opinions.
And then I think that raises kind of two discussions.
I think it raises what do we do about this
to prevent in the future. And then I think it
does raise the conversation about maybe these programs having to
look within and decide about the viability of their programs

(10:54):
going forward. I think that's the other conversation. But these
teams obviously are opting out for a couple of reasons.
Here's the biggest reason. It all boils down to this.
They can tell you whatever they want. They can talk
about numbers, they can talk about you know, you know,
don't have a healthy enough roster. They they don't want
to go get absolutely crushed in the first round of
the playoffs. They don't see a point in it. They've

(11:14):
got no shot to not only win a state title, clearly,
they've got no shot to win a game. So that's
why they pull out. Now, I think that actually leads
to the bigger discussion, and I'll get to that in
a moment, but in the immediate how do you keep
this from happening in the future, because this is happening
more and more. There are teams in the first round
of these playoffs, especially with these smaller classes, in these

(11:35):
smaller schools, that are essentially getting first round boys. And
then the games we do play are all pretty much blowouts.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
I don't even remember.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Maybe one out of all the first round games, maybe one,
not even a year, maybe one every couple of years
ends up being close and ends up being even worthy
of playing. And so that leads to the discussion, what
you do, how do you fix that? How do you
now there are some people who will tell you, this
is why we got to go back to four classes.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Here's the deal. That ain't happening.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
It ain't happening once you once you break glass, once
you go to the six classes, you're not going back.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
So that is not gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
They're just not gonna go backwards in that regard, I
think the actual answer, and this is the other thing
that gets brought up, why not shorten the playoffs by
one week? And you eliminate four seeds from each district
getting in. There are and the way this breaks down
right now. Obviously, in the first you know Class one
A and Class two A, you're gonna have a lot

(12:36):
of teams who didn't win a game who are in
the playoffs. Less of that when you get into three,
four and five A. But then you get to six A,
and you usually have a team or two that didn't
win a game all year, and there may be honestly
maybe the worst team in the state, and they're in
the playoffs because there's only four teams in their class
or I'm sorry, only four teams in their district. So

(12:58):
you run into this than you should, and I think again,
people say, well, that's why you go to four classes.
It's not gonna happen. That's why you shorten the playoffs.
Only the top two teams get in. Not that the
regular season doesn't count, but man, it would count a
lot more. I mean, look, I'd hate it this year
because my Graves County Eagles wouldn't be in. You're right

(13:20):
if you did that, like, there are some good teams
that would be left off, But then it makes the
regular season all that much more important. So maybe that's
the solution. Maybe you shorten the play Now. I know
there are gonna be coaches and AEDs and people that
would argue with me that no, because there are good
three and four seed teams and occasionally they will. I
don't remember a four seed pulling an upset in the

(13:41):
first round in the last few years in any class,
So I don't know. Tougher argument for me. Maybe a
three a good three seed that just got edged out
in the regular season that can do something. Maybe, but rarely, rarely,
if ever, do you see a four seed pick up
a win in the first round of the playoffs. So
I think you could shorten it by a week. I

(14:02):
think it needs to be shortened by a week because
there are a lot of smaller schools who start basketball
season and it takes them a month and a half
to be what they are supposed to be because that
takes them so long to get their football guys back,
So shorten it by a week top.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
Two districts get in.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
I think that's the most viable option because we're not
going back down to four classes. It's not happening. You're
not going to five, it's not happening. Maybe you look
at that that's really the only solution or you're gonna
keep getting this. You're gonna keep getting teams withdrawal from
the playoffs, You're gonna keep getting absolute blowouts in the
first round, and you're gonna keep this is going to.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Stay in place.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
So that to me is the first part of the
conversation and really the only way to fix it right now.
The other thing is, and this is the larger discussion.
For the teams that do that, and do that fairly
consistently pull out of the playoffs, you got to ask
yourself is it worth like can I keep my program going?
I mean, if you're in a situation where your program

(15:02):
is that hard up on numbers, you know, has that
much trouble getting numbers, and that's part of the excuse
of why you're pulling out and just a non competitive program,
then you've got to start looking at the feasibility of
the program. You gotta start looking at is this sustainable?
Can we keep this program around? Because it's harder to

(15:23):
sustain a football program financially and numbers wise and resource
wise compared to other programs in sports. And I think
those are discussions that have happened, especially at the school
in question that pulled out in our region. I think
that's happened before. I think it's happened more than once
or twice before. That's a program that I've said, you know,

(15:44):
a decade ago, is winning a lot of games, it's
scoring a lot of points, and it can happen. But
then when you go about a decade where it's been
really inconsistent, and you take last year as an example,
even last year was one of the better years in
a long time at Ballad do they go four and
seven and they get absolutely crushed in the first round
of the playoffs, and then some guys that transferred in

(16:05):
last year to help them do that transfer out, and
then you look at a season like they're having this season,
where they're winless and got shut out one, two, three, four,
five times. And this is a spot that you know,
Fulton City found themselves in.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
Now.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
I know it's different Fulton City, much smaller school, but
you know, they kept football around because the argument that
they kept bringing up was it's a tradition. It's been
around forever and used to be really good back in
the day and competed with Mayfield, but it ain't no more.
And times change and things change, and resources have to
be looked at a little differently in how you use

(16:40):
those and what your kids interests are. And clearly the
interest is not football as much as it used to
be there. The numbers just have not been the same
in the last seven eight years as it was ten
fifteen years ago. So I think it's tough, and I
don't necessarily think it's a good look. I don't think
it's a good look to play the entire season. Oh yeah,

(17:00):
we're gonna bow out in the playoffs. I get the reason.
I get you don't want to go on the road
and get killed, you know, But that's the point about
coming down to resources and coming down to viability. So
I do understand in part as to why you do it,
but I don't necessarily think it's a great look. You
you have an idea going into the season if you're

(17:21):
going to be good or not. Now how good or
how bad? Kind of you know, maybe that's still a
little bit in question, But you have an idea. You
have an idea of where the numbers are. You have
an idea of how healthy the program is. I mean,
guys transfer out and it leaves you in a spot
where you drop this dramatically from the previous season, then
that should spark the larger conversation. And I'm not listen.

(17:42):
I'm not sitting here and saying Ballard should absolutely one
drop football. But if you're gonna keep it, you need
to come up with a game plan to get it
healthy again, get the numbers up, get the roster back
to where it was ten years ago, where at least
you've got twenty five thirty kids on the roster and
a shot to play a few of those kids on
just one side of the football. Because if not, if

(18:05):
you're talking about a program that's gonna consistently have fifteen
to twenty kids on a roster, healthy and able to
play and try to contribute, it's just not gonna work.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
It's just not come up with a plan.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
We're gonna start in seventh grade next year and we're
gonna build the numbers and we're gonna do this, and
then that group becomes eighth graders, we're gonna keep focusing
on them and then build those seven that next group
of seventh graders, and you know, come up with a plan,
do what you need to do. But this ain't gonna
be the path if it's every other year you're bowing
out because of a season like this, and that's not
just Ballard, that's Fort Knox, that's all the other schools

(18:40):
that bow out. If you're consistently bowing out of the
playoffs because you know you can't compete, or you know
it's been a rough season and it's just not worth
your time to look at the season as a whole,
look at the program as a whole.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
All right, gotta take a break. We'll do we'll come back.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
We'll talk about football games that are happening Friday, that
and more on Region one.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
The Region one Sports Report, on all major podcast platforms,
and ninety nine to five of the Fan. Will you
be able to go back into what he is way
not going now? There's things I'm there to be and
then we're going to make.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Us call man preaching on sports as we roll along
here on your final segment of the Wednesday edition of
the show, I was reading some comments on one of
the Twitter accounts x accounts about the schools dropping off,
and they kind of brought up schools that don't you know,
that are similar size, that don't have football programs and
in our area that would be Hickman County, Carlisle County.

(19:32):
Fulton City is a small school. I get it if
they don't have a football program anymore. And I know
you could make the argument, well, two of those schools
never really did, never did have a football program. But
just because you did doesn't always mean you should. Now again,
I'm not in that position. I'm not saying they absolutely
should dump football at Ballad. I'm not saying that. I'm
saying now's the time to dig down, dig deep, have

(19:52):
those discussions. If we keep it, how do we keep it,
how do we get it strong, how do we get
it healthy? And if we can't come up with a plan,
or we do and the plan does not work in
a few years or doesn't show that it's gonna work,
then we have to have that hard talk, have that
hard discussion. That's my two cents. Moving on games that
are happening on Friday night. Speaking of Balor, they do

(20:13):
play Melinberg County Friday night. They do have to go
to Meulanberg County. Meliber County is a better football team.
They're season is essentially over, they're not in the playoffs,
they don't get to play past this week. So if
Milinberg County is gonna be ready to go and try
to get their fifth win of the year, that's a
program that was in dire straits a few years ago.
Get it, it's five A. It's a different situation. But

(20:34):
they started building with their middle school program, kind of
forsaking the age groups ahead of some of those kids
to try to get to a point where they could
be a winning program. And here they are. It's starting
to pay off. They're gonna go get their fifth win
this week. So that's one game getting played this week.
To me, the other games of a worthy note, the

(20:55):
other games that are sort of your your headline games
this week, You've got Graves County McCracken County. All of
a sudden, here comes Graves County kind of starting to
become what we thought they could be all year, a
really good defense with an offense set not explosive, but
can move the football and score. And the defense has
been really sound all year, if not good, if not

(21:15):
sometimes great, and the offense has woke up the last
few weeks. They just won their second game in a row,
their best performance of the season on both sides of
the football forty two nothing over Muhlenberg who again Apollo
who ended up being the second team of the district
and scoring a ton of points on Madisonville only beat
Milanberg County thirty four to twenty one. So I think

(21:38):
that does show the improvement in Graves County because miliber
County has been a better football team this season. But
here they are two in a row, winning against Marshall
County twenty one ten, winning against Miliver County forty two nothing,
and I think again really starting to find their stride
offensively again, not explosive, not going to hit that I
mean occasionally can hit that big playdownfield, but they're they're
gonna want to run clock time of pozaz field possession like.

(22:01):
That's how they're gonna want to do on offense, and
they've been better at it. M Kracken County comes in
their offense incredible. It's kind of a flip. The offense
has been good, if not great, most of the year,
if not all year, and the defense is just kind
of at times been good and at times just held
on tight. They give up a lot of points. They

(22:22):
do teams teams that teams move the football on them,
they do, but they also score a lot of points.
I mean, you just look at the overall. That Mayfield
game still blows my mind out. Say, you know, McCracken
goes on the road against Logan County scores sixteen points.
Logan County's good, they are, It's okay, that's kind of

(22:44):
a low output for them. But thirty nine to three
to Mayfield, when when every game around that, every game
around it, McCracken County scored at least forty nine points.
That's that's insane. You look at these two teams again, offensively,
very different. McCracken County two hundred and thirty yards in
the air, thirty touchdowns, six picks, one seventy six on

(23:07):
the ground, with twenty three touchdowns on the ground, and
they can listen, Landon Newman showed it last week. He
can absolutely break off a heck of a game. He
can go get it on the ground. The moment you
say hey, we're gonna go all in, we're gonna Matt
ex o'nill ain't throwing the football on us, Newman's gonna
run for two hundred yards. And last week they had
two forty four in the air and two fifteen on
the ground against a good Hinderson County team, so they

(23:29):
can move the football. The question will be can Graves
County keep the offense for McCracken on the sidelines. Can
Graves County sustain drives and score points. Sustained drives and
not score points ain't gonna work. Sustained drives and score points.
And if they can do that and keep McCracken County's
offense sidelined, that gives them their best shot to win

(23:52):
the game. The Eagles offensively on the season like kind
of looking at who they are and what they've done.
One hundred and five yards in ninety four yards on
the ground, six touchdowns in the air, thirteen on the ground.
I told you it's just been different this season offensively.
But their defense has been good. Held Marshall to ten,
held Madisonville to twenty, honestly, had Madisonville beat defensively in

(24:15):
the regulation, held Apollo, who scored forty something points on
Madisonville to seven. So their defense has a way of
taking these good offenses and stopping them and at least
slowing them down. Like I said, I don't think they
fully stop mccracking. Don't get me wrong, they're not gonna
They're not gonna do to mccrack and what Logan County
and what Mayfield did. But can they slow them down

(24:40):
and then make them sustain drives and eat clock and
then do the same thing on offense. That's gonna be
the big key for Friday night. But that is a
headline marquee game for Friday. Some of the other ones.
How about Callaway County and Marshall County. Again, Marshall County
not in the playoffs. This is playing for pride, This
is playing for that fourth win, elusive fourth win. Callaway

(25:02):
County has a shot to get a sixth regular season
win on Friday. They can guarantee themselves a winning record
for the year, which is unbelievable. So it's a bragging
rights game. It's a chance to get a sixth win.
It's a chance to get a winning record, I think,
and it's at home. Man, All things favor Callaway County

(25:25):
on Friday Night. Looking at these two teams, the Lakers
this season, they've done a really good job offensively, one
hundred and eighty nine yards on the ground, Logan Smith
a thirteen hundred plus yard season. He's got a shot
to get twenty rushing touchdowns on the year. He's at
eighteen right now. In the air, they don't do bad either,
one sixty two in the year, seventeen touchdowns, ten picks.

(25:49):
The key is going to be can Marshall slow down
the run and force them to pass. But I think
that's where you beat Marshall. I think they struggle, and
they do. They struggle when you get out on the edge.
They struggle when you go vertic, go downfield. If Callawai
can do that with any kind of success, they're going
to win this football game.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
Marshall.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
On the season, looking at their offense, they throw the
football at ninety nine yards per game, eight touchdowns, seven picks.
They run the football at one sixty nine a game
with seventeen touchdowns. Marshall kind of hear me out, run
the football Friday night, Run it, run it again, and
run it again. That has clearly been your strength. That
clearly is where your stats tell you should be. Your

(26:28):
big and physical upfront, your running backs are strong and physical.
Run the football. There's no shame in three yards in
a cloud of dust. Run clock, Let the play clock
go down, Let the game clock go down. And if
you go three and out, you have to punt, so
be it run clock and run the football. Now, I
don't think this is a game where Callaway skill guys
overwhelm Marshall's skill guys like they've seen this season at times.

(26:53):
But I still think play to your strengths and play
to who you are. And you've got good young running backs,
strong physical line. Just see if you can't move the
football that way. Now, Callaway, that may be where they're
good on defense. I don't know it hadn't really looked
that closely, but we do know Marshall struggles when teams
get onto the edge and teams can go downfield. And
if Callaway can do that and get downfield and move

(27:15):
the football quickly and score quickly, it's gonna be a
tough not for Marshall. But that's definitely a marquee game
on Friday. And then you have a lot of games
that are probably gonna go out blow out to blowouts.
I mean, you got Murray and Cadwall. Murray's gonna go
unbeaten in the regular season. Caddawall County who has been good.
Caddawall County a very improved football team. Man, they have
really been good this season. They're not on that level.

(27:36):
They're not on that caliber. Mayfield beat them fifty two
to nothing, and I think that's where they are when
they play these really good teams. But this is a
real I mean, Cadwall County's got three losses going into
this game. But I just don't see Murray having any
issues with them. I think Murray Murray's gonna have their way.
I just think that's gonna be the case. On Friday.

(27:57):
Speaking of Mayfield, may go find them again. Hold on
off track here. Mayfield plays Central. Central is not good.
I don't even know who Central is. They're the Yellow Jackets.
They're out of District three. Okay, great, they're a three
A football team. Honest to goodness, didn't even know that
team existed. They played Central, they play at Mayfield, They're
gonna get a big blowout. Went on Friday night. Don't

(28:17):
see a problem there. Then you've got ce Fulton County
is off. They don't play until the playoffs. Good for them.
They get Bethlehem next week. Who am I missing? Paduca Tilman.
Paduca Tillman's game this week, Tilman takes on Christian County.
That's gonna be blowout city. Christian County has just completely
checked out completely. I think the entire administration has checked out.
It's just sad. It's a shame what's going on at

(28:40):
Christian County. It really really is kind of sad and
kind of shameful how that program has fallen the last
few years and why. I mean, it's just it's a
letdown of leadership, that's all that is. Their leadership has
just been really really bad the last five, six, seven years.
And that's that's where you and they're fixing the consolidate

(29:01):
and that you know, nobody's excited for that in that community.
So it is what it is. Tilman's gonna get a
big win. But those are your games on Friday. And
that's it for me today. Out of time, out of topic.
My voice is gone, struggling this morning on the struggle
bus this morning. I'll rest it up, be back on Friday.
Hope you enjoy the volleyball games tonight and we'll get

(29:21):
ready for football on Friday. Until then, this has been
