(00:46):
Hey, thank you very much foryour patience. We are revisiting Domania WrestleMania
Rewatch podcast. I'm Carlos and IMaria and this week we're back at it,
breaking down with some manias for you. For those who are new to
the game and want to become youknow, wrestling the Fisionados or smart Marks

(01:08):
or whatever you know, or ifyou want to dive in for the first
time, just like my wife hasbeen doing here, this is what we
do pretty much. I started myfandom by watching WrestleMania's only because that's all
I could afford to do, eitherby renting them videos or going someone else's

(01:29):
house. Yeah, so thank youfor joining us in this episode of revisiting
the Menia. We're taking a deepdive into wrestle Mania twenty nine, so
from John Zena's tramp and victory overthe Rock to the Undertaker extending his undefeated
streak. Spoiler alerts. We wantto watch for the first time. We
hope you enjoy reliving all the incrediblemoments with us as we rewatch. I

(01:56):
watch for the first time and wetalked through these men So with that,
you ready, Yeah, let's gorevisiting WrestleMania twenty nine. So this took
place on April seven, twenty thirteen, at Mettline Stadium in East Rutherford,
New Jersey, and New Jersey. So who was the main event? It

(02:17):
was? The main event was Rockversus Sena Part two. This was the
only I think it's the fourth WrestleManiabefore this that had the same main event
or the same rematch from years before. Okay, so did you see snooky

(02:39):
behind the announcer table. Yeah,we did see here in the beginning there
snooky. Of course, they couldn'tbe in New Jersey without getting some snooky
in there, right, That's right. So I wanted to get these shots
in here for you. So thosepeople who haven't watched this before, I
can see like this is their firstlike four y. I guess WrestleMania into

(03:05):
like getting bigger stadium, so thisis like their first football stadium set up.
The other four that have been outthere before that were outdoors were either
like in Caesar's Palace that we hadWrestlemingia nine. We had the other one
that the one before this, Wrestlmingin twenty eight, was actually from a

(03:27):
college stadium. So I guess Icould correct myself there, this would be
technically the second football stadium when previouslythey had it like at where the Seattle
Mariners play, which was a baseballfield. So just the fourth time their
outdoors here. So look at thethe little fireworks show, Liberty. I

(03:52):
love the set up for this WrestleMania. I thought it's super cool and I
thought it looked great, so Ithought they put on a really good show
for WrestleMania. Yeah, Vince sparedno expense to get this WrestleMania set up.
Like the stage, he has thecover in case you know it reigns

(04:15):
like it did like the previous yearwhen they're wrestling in Miami, and from
what we know from No when weattended WrestleMania forty when it was cold actually
in the rafters over the ring, they actually have space heaters, so we
may have been cold, but I'msure they were not cold. So with

(04:38):
this match or with this we havethe first match kicking off, which is
the debut of the Shield, whichwe have seth rollins Dean Ambrose and Roman
Reigns, which has the entrance ofthem actually spelling out the shield military wise
phonetically is what we call it becausethen you hear Sierra Hotel India echo Lima

(05:04):
Delta. Hey, I still rememberall that. But so they come in
and they actually recorded that. I'mnot sure if you like knew about that,
but they the Shield people, DeanAmbrose, sept Rollins, Roman Rains,
they will record those instances of whenthey're saying those letters. Oh,
that's pretty awesome versus Seamus Randy Ortonand the Big Show, The Big Show.

(05:32):
Yeah. So this match it goesfor ten minutes and thirty three seconds.
So Mariam, we're finally getting tomore things that are current that you
have been or you have watched. You've watched Roman Rains, watched seth Rollins,
you did recently see Dean Ambrose, even though you've seen him as John

(05:57):
mox League when we saw him inthe New Japan. To take some time
to acknowledge me, Well, that'syou're eight years ahead of the curve right
now. Let me rewind Okay, yeah, so right now, he's just
these guys are the hounds of Justiceand Roman Reign is the big the big
dog, big dog. Right.Well, one, I'm a fan of

(06:19):
a tag team match. And thenjust to get this WrestleMania started a six
man tag team match that's pretty awesome, you know, a big Show or
and then Shamus find out the hardway that three heads aren't always better than
one. Well, it doesn't helpthat one big head, the biggest head

(06:39):
Big Show doesn't seem like he's cooperatingin uh in this match because towards the
end, you know, I mean, they have like these back and forth
you know, first to Shield getsthe upper hand, then they start isolating,
uh one of one of the guyshere, I believe it's Shamus.
And then he had this thing whereI believe Randy accidentally knocks into the Big

(07:04):
Show and the Big Show takes itpersonally. So when it's time for the
hot tag, guess who's not there. It's the Big Show. So he
leaves his team high and dry,and they end up losing to the Shield
here after Randy hits an RKO.So they let's get a few pictures.

(07:25):
So we got sham is here doingthis ten beats of the batteries what they
call it to Dina Ambro. Sohe's gonna do like tell and then we
have this RKAO here out of nowhere, because that's how they normally come when
Orton gets that hot tag from well, actually Big Show gets tagged in,

(07:49):
but Randy Orton had hot tags himselfblindly to get himself and take all the
glory, which eventually, you know, like I said, gets the Big
Show med and he ends up leavinghis team. So but I'm wondering if
you're gonna show my favorite one ofmy favorite spots, which one was the

(08:11):
spot when the Big Show speared allof them at the same time. I
missed and I was trying to findit, but I couldn't find out.
I could find was them celebrating atthe end, because like I said,
the Shield ends up winning, butbecause of their hot tag, they kind
of got people rubbed the wrong way. That opening gave Roman Ras the opportunity

(08:37):
to go ahead and spear Randy Yrton, and then Seamus was knocked out from
the melee and that's how they endedup getting to win. We also get
a situation where the Big Show ripsoff Ambrose his best and he gets a
chop to the chest and then Seamusalso moves seth rollins fast. So I
guess you could say they were investedin this match or divested because because so

(09:05):
overall, what do you think.I thought it was great. I definitely
recommend that you watch this match.I thought it was a great way to
start off for WrestleMania. This youknow, match was televised. I thought
it was good. I really enjoyedit. Definitely recommend that you watch it.
If you're curious about who I wasrooting for during this match, A

(09:26):
good question. I was actually rootingfor. I guess you guys. I
was gonna have to say, you'rereading for the Shield. I was,
Yeah, I'm not a fanatic overthe Shield, but I was rooting for
the Shield during this match. Nice. I mean, you have Roman Reigns
in there, and I'm pretty surethat and this would have been like one

(09:46):
of those rare instances where you goand cheer for the heel. Ye Roman,
Yeah, it's for me. Iprobably would have been rooting for the
Shield too. I had already beenkeeping track of these guys primarily they were
in NXT, So yeah, Idon't necessarily understand like all the wetness at
all times with the Heir and alsomake is that what it is. I

(10:13):
think there was a spot where somebodyhit the mat and then they left an
impress and that's probably Roman Reigns ornot Seth Rollins one of those two.
Yeah, so do you recommend thismatch? Ah? It's hard. Like,
if you have no interest of actuallygoing and watching any of these guys
work in NXT, go ahead andwatch this match of the Shield being introduced

(10:39):
to you in WrestleMania. But ifyou want to go back and watch some
matches of Seth Rollins and Roman Reignsand Dean Ambros coming up through the NXT
developmental, go ahead and do that. They have better matches there as they're
making their way in names to thecompany. Yeah. So that that takes

(11:01):
us to match number two. Matchnumber two, the one that would be
labeled big meeting men slapping me aterm that is used by wrestling smart.
Mark, you gotta explain to thefans and it's just big guys going out

(11:24):
there and doing big guy things.I'm not the one that cames up with
these terms. That's just the way, whether it's the Internet community came up
with it. So we have theWorld's Strongest Man Mark, Yes, right
who sounds like he is a characterin uh video game to me, I

(11:46):
like the name, is there arethere any character similar to right back?
No? No, the way Iwould describe right Back, maybe there's wrestling
fans watching now or if people mighthave watched it back in the early two
thousands, think of right Back aslike a super roided up rob Bandam okay,

(12:09):
I could see that, only notas athletic and not as cool.
Oh shit, so this match lesswopping eight minutes in two seconds? I
thought, personally, Again, I'ma big fan of Mark Henry. I
like to see him work, butI thought it was okay. You know,
this match was okay for WrestleMania, but when the dust settled, it

(12:31):
was clear. You know, wesee Henry coming with a win. But
it wasn't just that great for me. What about you? I remember this
one was like right Back was ona roll. He had that whole feed
me more stuff and that's where wehad to feed me more. So he

(12:52):
was. It was kind of likea build like Goldberg or Goldberg had like
sixty seven wins with no losses likein this w W Day's that's pretty So
there was kind of building it likethat. But I just don't know what
else right Back had besides, youknow, similar to Goldberg, where you
just had a few moves. Soif you're a fan of right Back and

(13:18):
you were dazzled by his immn strengthor prowess common below. Let us know
what you think. There's a fewgood spots in this match. So,
although it's not a favorite of thisWrestleMania twenty nine, we get Henry knocked
out of the ring by right Backa few times, and then, like
you said, we get it likea couple of bear hugs we do.

(13:41):
It's like you guys are big men. Yeah, you know, why don't
we need you guys doing wrestles? So was it Mark Henry that was tired
or was it right Back that wastired? If I was doing right now,
I would need a couple of wrestles, you know for a match there
was only eight minutes or too manywrestles maybe, but I mean right Back

(14:03):
was hot, like I mentioned, because you even hear the crowds chanting feed
me more. A couple of timesshe gives us meat hook, clothes line,
We try to get a he triesto do a shell shock on Henry,
who grabs the rope. Yeah, which is I think this picture right
here where he gets him up,and that's the part you were talking about.
But that's impressed. I mean notonly for right back because he doesn't

(14:28):
seem like he's being pulled down byhim right, but also for Mark Henry
because he was probably shitting bricks, like, I hope this guy doesn't drop
me right so because he could. This could usually go wrong somewhere, you
know, where he either gets droppedon his head in on that rope or
he gets dropped on his head outsideright so like. And then this match

(14:50):
started off hot where right back wasattanking Mark Henry. But after this a
spinebuster from right back, I didn'tfind that. We do get that Mark
Henry ends up winning on that particularmatch that you know, eight minutes and
two seconds we would have liked forright back, and it should have been

(15:13):
to something that right back should havewon him sixty three, you know,
no, no, no, thatwas when I mentioned the sixty seven and
no, that was like Goldberg andhe went on that street, off by
the person and off by the number. But it's you know, it was
weird because he was being built andright back at the time and he figured

(15:33):
that he would be going for atitle, so for him to lose to
Mark Henry kind of was weird. And then he's the face like he's the
good guy, right, So forhim to attack Mark Henry postmatch and actually
get his moves off, yeah, like that's fine, Bunster you mentioned.
And then he does the shell shot, which was what he was something to

(15:54):
do here where he has him onhis shoulder and then parades him around before
he drops. It was weird. So it kind of like threw off everything
at that point where I was like, I don't understand what they're doing with
this. Yeah, You're like, where are they going with us? Yeah?
And with this it's kind of weirdbecause like after this Mark Henry,

(16:21):
Mark Henry answers, John Cena winsfor those will break that down, right,
We mentioned he bees Rock, sothe next day johnsena being the People's
champion now or being like you knowout there I'm the fighting champion, because
that was his whole thing with RockRocks. Never hear Rocks in Hollywood.

(16:44):
We need someone to defend the title, which is something similar that Cody Roads
said about Roman Reigns. So butJohnsono does an open challenge and guess who
answers the olden challenge. It's MarkHenry. So now they throw out this
whole thing where Mark Henry beats downJohn Cena and then right back comes to

(17:07):
save John Cena because I think theyrealize that they goof by having them do
this, so now they want tohelp him align himself with John Tina,
so you could get that good guyheap back, but then uh, he
ends up with tanking and then heright back ends up with tanking Johnsena,
and then he ends up making itlike a triple. So it was just

(17:30):
like totally like this is so wouldyou I would not recommend people watch this
match? What about you? Iwould say passed, skip it. If
you're rewatching this, then you wantto take a revisit with us. Go
on to match number three, whichis what we're gonna start talking about with
team hell don't know? Oh,hell no, Daniel Brian and Kane against

(17:56):
Biggie Langston and Dolf Ziggler with AgeYeah, for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
So this manch go ahead. Ohso it goes for six minutes and
seventeen seconds. Now you are familiarwith Kane, you are familiar with Daniel
Brian, Team hell no? Yeahyeah, Now you are familiar with dof

(18:22):
Ziggler and you haven't. I toldyou I never got well, well,
you could talk about it in alittle bit. But who were you rooting
for? Let's get back to whodo you think I was rooting for.
I'll go with Dolph and Biggie.I was nice, Okay, As for

(18:44):
me, I would have been rootingfor Team hell No. I know.
So what do you think You're abig fan of kin No, Anthony?
If you ever get to watch this, I'm sorry, I just can't get
in like you. But go ahead, Anthony Ayes fan shown So with that,

(19:07):
like you said, this match goeson for six minutes seventeen seconds.
When I first saw this match,I actually had doubts why. I just
don't know. I was like looking. I think it was because I was
looking at the tag teams that wereput together and I wasn't sure how this
match was going to go. Butafter I saw it, I was pleasantly

(19:29):
surprised, and it's actually recommended matchfor me. Okay, nice? Like
what were you concerned about? Like, because if you think about it this
way, you have two kind oftechnical wrestlers, like well rounded wrestlers.
Go ahead. Were these two tagteams ever tag teams before? No?
So they were just put as atag team for this WrestleMania twenty nine.

(19:53):
Well the champions were Team held No. Okay, so they had already been
together for a while, been togetherfor a while. I think that was
my thing is like I really haven'tseen these matchups, so it's kind of
like, how is this gonna look? How is this gonna work? But
it ended up working pretty well.Yeah with this this team hell No.
Originally was one of those like, you know how we have the take the

(20:17):
TV show, the odd couple wantthe slab one ton freak, How will
it ever work out? That's howit works out. You have one so
one that evens out the odd.So eventually somebody got the right idea of
bullets pair daniel'brien and Kane together becausewhen it would be like the super technical
guy and one is like the muscle. But they kind of they kind of

(20:42):
built this thing where after Daniel Brianloses this championship at Wrestling twenty eight and
that thirty seconds or I forgot whatthe time was. To Shamus, he
has like a little break, likequote unquote, not like a real psychotic

(21:03):
break or mental break or whatever. So he needs to seek mental health help
with the storyline, with the storylineright with the K faith and Cain also
has anger issues and he needs tobecause what isn't he like the brother of
He's a brother the Undertaker and theUndertaker and yeah from hell. Well that's

(21:32):
the thing I didn't understand with theUndertake the whole Undertaker of the Undertaker is
from like parts Unknown and he's supposedto be evil. Where is came from?
Is he also from parts unknown andsupposed to be evil? So who's
how can you be more evil thanevil? I believe that that's out there.
So that was the whole thing.I just didn't understand with that whole

(21:55):
thing. But with this one,so with the way that these guys get
bonded, they go to a therapistand they work through the issue. This
is all part of the K andthen they end up winning the championship and
it goes from there. So TopSigler is like a fun storyline. Did
you like it? It was okay? Okay, Like I didn't feel like

(22:18):
they needed to do that stick tohave them see a shrink quote for them
to resolve any issues to work atthe tag team. So but who am
I? I don't book anythink Idon't make them storylines right with that,
I mean I think they found outpretty quickly. The team Hell no,

(22:41):
their teamwork was no joke. Yeah, So to begin I like the little
callback that we have here because atthe beginning of the match with Brian Danielson
and Seamus a j Lee gives DanielBrian the luckis girlfriend and then right here
we get a j Lee kissing dogZiggler as a good kiss. So it

(23:07):
was I like this type of building, like little easter egg or a callback
to things that have been done inthe past with you know, with with
the characters on screen. So thiswas good. So right away you're like,
oh my god, is he gonnalose right away? But no,
he doesn't end up losing right away. Brian kick Ziggler and you know,

(23:33):
you thought that he was gonna winas he rolls them up, but no,
Ziggler kicks out, and then weget Daniel Brian kicking him like this,
and then even though it's no nono on his tights as you can
see, yeah, everyone's going yes, yeah, yeah, So he's still

(23:55):
over with the yes movement, youknow, if I actually you know,
so what did you think how farthis match is starting out? That is
great. We see Beggie throw hismoney in the bank briefcase, yes,
and we see some good strikes.Like we talk about Daniel Bryant, he

(24:18):
has like really good technical wrestling whichI definitely appreciate, like from him as
a wrestler. And then we geta good choke slam by Kane. Like
you mentioned, he's that big andstrong guy, so there for the stroke,
the choke slam, a stroke slam. Man. I think it's a

(24:41):
different show. But you know, you have the Countar and Big East supposed
to be you know, Doziglar's muscle, so it was a good U would
you recommend this match? Well,at first watching it, I would recommend
this, like because it's six minutes. It's a short match if you have

(25:04):
not watched anything. Uh, andyou want to know about the Ziggler and
Biggie, which we're still hoping thatBiggie is able to recover and get back
into the ring, right. Ah. I really don't care about Kane,
but with Daniel Brian Brian Danielson ashe's not here or Daniel Brian and they

(25:26):
keep changing his name, so Iget confused. Yeah, And the w
W, he is Brian Daniel orDaniel Brian, But in like everywhere else
like Ringo b Honor and the INDsand W, he's Brian Danielson. But
yeah, if you have never watchedany of those matches like that they had

(25:51):
before and just to go see likethis particular match pretty much you can see
what Vince eventually rewards Dolf Ziggler withthe championship. It was always like in
the back of everyone's mind that thiswould have been the WrestleMania, or this
particular WrestleMania would have been where DolphSigular catched in, whether because he won

(26:17):
the money in the bank championship orthe stipulation the contract, so he could
have catched it against the Rio.He could have cashed it against John Cena.
So we were all under the assumption, like remembering back ten eleven years
ago, that Dolf was gonna cashin. He does cash in eventually,
but you know, once you hadthis money in the bank briefcase, you

(26:41):
are you are gonna get pushed, whether you which I will say, I
am a fan of seeing people fansjust like us, carrying those money in
the bank briefcases. I'm really impressedwith the way that they really got it.
And so I mean, does thatmean that I get to your contract

(27:03):
and cash it in for something thatthat means that I can get money on
the bank. No, I startedlike personalizing those Now, I guess.
So people would always carry these briefcasesright whether they were gonna use it or
not. And there was this onetime I don't remember it was Dolf for

(27:25):
somebody else, but they kept thebriefcase and it was always dented in wow,
but they never done anything with it. So now I think from either
last year when Damian Priest had it, he had his personal life. So
it was purple because the judgment theyhad the purple as primarily the purple and
black as their colors. So we'redigressing. But that's that's the whole thing.

(27:52):
It's like what we expected. Soif you ask me if I expect
the team held No to lose toDolphin begging, and that's what happened.
Dolf and Biggie end up losing ap It was good for them to keep

(28:15):
momentum going as far as WrestleMania isgone, because right now you had that
that of a match that you hadwith right back and Henry and you had
a good little start with the shield. So right now, we started high,
we got a little bit low, were kind a little bit high,
and then we have this I agree, still our hearts and the show,

(28:41):
but Team hell No stole the windfor this match. But that that takes
us too much for which is theintroduction of Fan Dangle versus a returning christ
Jericho. This match goes for nineminutes and eleven seconds. So Maria,

(29:11):
we have Christianico back. You arefamiliar with them. I am familiar with
them, and sometimes it's complaining. And now we have Fandango Fan Dangle.
Who is the name of a servicelike, yes, it's an well,
I guess it's the streaming service theybought out Voodoo. No, not series

(29:37):
like the movie streaming site Voodoo. They used to be owned by Walmart or
maybe Walmart. No, we're thinkingabout red Box. But yeah, Fan
Dangle is here to steal our heartsand dancing the night away. No,

(30:00):
okay, wait, are you afan of Fandango? No, I'm not
a fan of Are a fan ofwrestling? No? Are you? Okay?
So let's start off with saying whatI love. I'm a fan of
the song with no No. Thatsong makes me like nothing makes me.

(30:21):
I guess I rate as listening tothat song for a fandangle. Well you
should hear it when the Monday NightRaw after Mania, because it was really
hot song. I know I remember. And so what do I love?
I love Jericho's coat and I lovehis wrestling gear. But you said that.
I've actually said this before that Ilove his es when we want to

(30:45):
go see uh, I think wewant to go see a Monday Night Raw
and Jerike, But was still worrying. And if I find the pictures,
I'll post it. I love thatcoat. But you know, I mean,
are you really telling me at watchingthis match that White two J is
veteran savvy? Couldn't I'll do fandangos. What work? Well, if we're

(31:12):
to believe the k fabe, yeah, believe he's not he's not here yet.
But if we're to believe the storylinethat's being presented to us by Vince,
yes, but would that actually happen? Like there's a rare instances where

(31:32):
like if we compare to like areal sport like boxing, Oh, like
a real sport. This is justentertainment. I mean, I'm not taking
anything away from what the moves thatthey actually do. I always give everybody
credit for the work they put inthe bumps. They take some of the
sequences and like, they take alot of risks to entertain us for two

(31:57):
three four hours depending on what showyou're watching, like a pay per view
or a normal TV show, andthey only get one take to do it
live. Yes, they get topractice, but to actually pull it off.
No cuts, no brakes, noor anything like that. It's not
like you could be like, oh, you know what, I messed up
people twisting and the start over. No, you just gotta find a way

(32:21):
to work through it. They havea few good spots in this match.
You know, we get a roundhousekick from Fandango and we get a good
leg drop on Jericho almost had anear phone. Yeah, so we you
know, we get a lot ofgood things here, you know, we
get but it's mostly this match isVince for some reason, is trying to

(32:47):
strap the rocket to Fandango, andso Jericho's going out here and putting fan
dangle over right. So that's thewhole point in this. I had read
something I'm not sure if it wasrecently or like remembering back. But Jericho

(33:08):
initially wanted to wrestle right that's howmuch he believed in like putting. He
felt that him putting over right backwould be more beneficial to write back then
him, you know, than anyoneelse. But since Vince believed in Fandangle

(33:30):
so much, he's like, no, I need you to put over this
guy. So that's why we endedup getting this match. No, I
do not believe in fans, friendsand a common belong Yeah, if you
fell for fan dangle fever, yeah, tell us why he connected with you.

(33:52):
That's the purpose that we have thislive stream, so we can connect
with you guys. You guys cantell us, well, he may not
work for you, but this iswhy I believed in dangle. Okay,
okay, So would you recommend thismanage? No, I would not recommend
this match just because one we hearthe music again. Two, not only

(34:16):
did we hear the music again, but it's for like a long period of
time, because the runway is solong here. And three is that we
get to see Fandango dance kind ofat the end when he's ends up being
victorious, he is in great shape. Yeah, he's got that going for

(34:38):
them. Rights so other than that, I just thought like this was like
a waste of Jericho's prestige, likethat he's built in wrestling. Yeah,
so did you like the end orI know you're not a fan of I

(35:00):
start? Where do I am?Let me finish it? Finish this match,
I got spots. I cannot recommendthis match. But that's again a
personal take. For some reason,Fandingo's music like enrages me and it just
makes me really angry. So wesee Fandango dances way to a surprising victory

(35:22):
over y t J. So,yeah, I did not like this match.
I do not like the music.I do not like I am.
I do not like them here orthere, I do not like them anywhere.
So I cannot I can say thisis not a recommended match for me.
It's a past all right. Soso far one recommended match from must

(35:49):
I just don't understand why. Like, so this leads us to what ends
up being this well, pace ofthe music, that's what it is.
It's not really slow. Yeah, maybe speed it up a little bit.
Okay, So this leads us tothe first he Championship. Oh, I

(36:12):
mean we can skipped that. Yeah, but that he does come out there
and he ends up singing and hanvylike three or four songs rap whatever he
performs. Did he do something?Yes, he comes out and performs so
that that takes us to Yeah. This match number five with Alberto del Rio

(36:36):
aertoo. Yes, I am whatabout you? I am a fan of
Alberto del Rio. He comes outwith Ricardo Rodriguez and he is wrestling against
Jack Swagger. Yeah with uh.He also brings out the culture always also

(36:57):
known as before previously as Dutch mantel. So this match goes on for ten
minutes and thirty seconds. Yeah, definitely like the fireworks, So go ahead,
we haven't No, I did notget that, but so I mean
in this wrestling match, we hada battle of ideology and that real skill.

(37:22):
I think he's a great wrestler andhe's wrestling against Swager. I have
a lot of bravado, the realAmerican American this match. I was a
fan of bil Rio as someone whois of Mexican descent, of someone who
actually has family that's from San LuisPotosi. This was something that you know,

(37:47):
I enjoyed. They had a verygood story being built here. You
know, Berthel came in and he'sa heel in the beginning, and kudos
to them to actually like building akeel, like to Vince or whomever was

(38:07):
in charge of the storyline, like, you know what, let's go ahead
and build this where Alberto is theface, and they like build this whole
thing where Alberto the real and thevideo package has this thing where he's like
and maybe from Mexico, but Iam American maid and he's standing on top

(38:30):
of the Empire State Building and he'sstaring at the Statue of Liberty, which
is and then they build that wholevideo package where they talk about Statue Liberty
being the beacon and being welcoming theyou know, the huddled masses. That
whole speech and everything like that gaveme your hungary. You're bored and if

(38:51):
you haven't gone to a Statue ofLiberty, you it's definitely a mussy And
it's one of those things where peopleare like, oh, this is a
tourist attraction. There's so many terastypeople, you know, like so many
people, they're so crowded, butit's like one of the best experiences.
But I think we've gone to Yeah, just take a break from like breaking

(39:13):
down wrestling just going there and knowinglike everything that you had to go through
as an immigrant, you go throughlike if you're taking a ship from like
the United Kingdom, from France, from Italy from you know, you're back
then you know, ships were theonly way to travel and you're going on

(39:37):
this you know ship for like maybethree four you know, depending on whether
maybe up to like six weeks ata time, and you don't know if
you're going to survive the trip. And then you get here and you don't
understand the language, they don't understandyou, and then you know, they
process you and these little this little, big, this big the courtyard hallway

(40:00):
first, and then we got tosee the little rooms that they stayed at.
Yeah, so the situations they hada stand and it's just getting here,
then actually staying here and then tryingto fight for survival and make a
living in a life for you andyour family or just yourself if you came
over alone. I mean, it'sjust, uh, you know, we

(40:22):
all have stories, you know, grandparents, great grandparents, great great grandparents,
and it was just something you know, I feel really humble to go
to have gone see that was areally good experience. But with that get
back to breaking down this match. So we have the heel and we have

(40:44):
the face, which normally people wouldthink about it the other way, especially
people who were fans of Jack Swaggerend Zip culture, you know, they
would be like, no, he'smy face, right he so is the
heal right? So how did youlook at this? So we are you
rooting for? I was rooting forAlberto del Rio. I'm again definitely a

(41:06):
fan of the wrestling, and also, you know of Mexican descent, a
fan of him as well. He'sjust a really good wrestler and he's a
long time wrestler as well, SoI was looking forward to seeing him in
this match. Was this the recommendedmatch for you? It seems like story

(41:28):
wise, you feel like it shouldhave been built a little bit better,
like in the rings tychnology wise, like this match, this match gives us
like structure, good evil, thisman doesn't want me here. I want

(41:50):
to be here. I'm gonna goahead and make my American dream happen.
You know. But this in particularmatch, I think needed a little bit
more time. But I'm not sureif they were already cutting time, because

(42:15):
the first four matches they're not long. The only one that goes past the
ten minute mark is the first match, I believe. Yeah, so this
match barely goes over ten minutes, and you figured that for a match that's
for the World's Heavyweight Championship, thatit should go a little bit longer.

(42:39):
The ederation was short. Yeah,I'm not sure exactly where it might have
gone wrong. Yeah, there's onehere. I like this thing where it
kind of starts off where Alberto takesout and he actually jumps through the top
in the middle rope is pretty awesome. And the fact that he's actually able

(43:02):
to time that perfectly and it's lightthrough and still connect with that kick,
that drop kick, you know, that's actually pretty good to me. What
about you? What did you haveas a well, we have a couple
of you know, we see Swaggertry to do his Patriot lock a few
times, Yes, which is anankle lock from Kurt Angle. Oh,

(43:23):
that's a good callback. We're definitelyfans with Kert Angle. You know,
Dalrio doesn't submit. We also geta cross arm breaker, but at the
end of this match, Dalrio routainshis title. So would you recommend this
to either a new fan or somebodythat hasn't watched or Somnia twenty nine.

(43:47):
No, no, I would notrecommend anyone to go back and watch this
match. Like as good as aworker as del Rio is, there's like
some kind of disconnect. And I'mnot sure if it's the Rio unable to
work with Jack Swagger or if it'sjust Jack Swagger on his own, because

(44:08):
Jack Swagger has had this issue throughouthis career where they build him up,
but he's just like not able toperform wow good enough like or long enough
or things like that. They evenlike recently tried to get him to They
signed him at a w and theonly gimmick that got hop for him is

(44:30):
that he found a purple bucket hatand he's like, that's my head,
So he just came around wearing apurple bucket does work for him? It
worked for him, and you gotpeople talking you for like a couple of
months. But you know, liketo win here it goes to Alberto Lerios.
He ends up winning. He endedup making them tap. Now let

(44:52):
me ask you something here about this. Alberto's billed as six five. I
can say that you know too sixtyor something like that, right, So
do you think that this man shouldhave the finish your primarily be a submission
hold. I think that that armbreaker because as much as I like Alberto,

(45:17):
that was my whole thing where Iwas like, I could have had
a bit better finisher. They givehim like this backbreaker which they call like
the backstabber, which is just basicallyyou grab the guy from behind and then
point your knees up into his backand you don't know, stretch out.

(45:37):
So but you're like, he couldhave had a better finishing more. Yeah,
that's like my thing on why Ifeel like Alberto didn't like completely like
get embraced on it. Like he'sa very technical sound wrestler and he does
a lot of like he knows whenhe should be a heel and a face

(46:01):
right, and when he's like Ithink he's third generation or this was second
generation, but this whole families arewrestlers in Mexico. So it's not like
he is not technically sound or anythinglike that, right, and the finishing
will kind of been bad, Yeah, because it gives you more options.

(46:22):
It helps you build out a matchbetter because then if you're only looking for
the submission hold as your finisher, how you then you got to think of
ways of getting it creatively to it, like you're building out, you're pointing
out the map, you're mapping outyour match, and you're like, well,
is this where I turn you orthis where I do like a flip

(46:45):
and then I get it to thearmbar. You're looking into things like that.
But if you incorporate a better finisher, then you can find ways to
do that, just like where weend up getting it with Randy Orton.
His finisher is the RKO, right, and it can happen in any type

(47:06):
of position. So even though somepeople help him out like uh, it's
you know, him bolting forward likethe most recognizable form, it's just like
someone diving into his arms and himjust guiding them down, you know,
to get him an arko. Butthere's different variations for you to do that
particular finish, all right, Butthat's when you're kind of like stock in

(47:29):
a situation where you have to getinto that position and that's finishing move.
Yeah, yeah, I hear you. So what about you? You would
recommend this man? This is nota recommended match for me. I like
the intro. The storyline really grabsyour attention. Of course, you know,
you're either like on one side orthe other. Again, I definitely

(47:50):
enjoy his wrestling, but that Ican't recommend this match to you. I
just skip it. And with that, we're gonna take you to one of
the best matches I'm tho WrestleMania twentynine. Yeah. Well, if you
and if you put a gun tomy head to just choose one match to
watch and wrestling in twenty nine,it would be this match, the match

(48:16):
of c M Punk versus the Undertaker. Don't forget Paul Hayman. Yes,
with Paul Hayman in his corner,CM Punk and Undertaker had this match for
twenty two minutes. It's a goodduration. Yes, And I was not

(48:37):
born at all during any point ofthis match. Yes, I definitely love
the intro, which I think youhave a photo of that I don't.
I didn't get the one way Phil, but I don't get the Undertaker the
Undertaker. What an entrance is?Is this? Right? Super cool?
You had the lightning and everything fromthe uh Titan Tron as he used to

(49:00):
call it in the background, callingback to his other entrances that he had
before, lightning strikes and things likethat. You get the music, But
I like this incorporation of the handscoming out right to reach out and and
grab them down and things along those. Ertaker's hair in this match, so

(49:22):
he has a new hairstyle, yes, And then here we have Cmpunk waiting
for him to come down the wayright. Yeah, I mean that's the
perfect spot. Paul bear Right, who was one of my favorites to see
during an Undertaker match. So yeah, that man was very gifted from you

(49:47):
know, being able to do hisvoice inflections that were and then just he
like was able to own that characterof Paul Barr And it was great to
actually see them do this match.I think if I remember credit, they

(50:07):
were actually trying to incorporate them inthis view and unfortunately had passed away.
How can you not enjoy watching theUndertaker defend his twenty and all wedding street?
Yes, how can you not?I mean I was so excited to
see this. This had great buildup. This had pretty much filled the
CM Punk being the heel, usingthe urn and dumping the ashes from the

(50:32):
urn over the Undertaker and pretty muchthrowing the urn that supposedly held the ashes
of Paul b Right. Maria, that's safe to assume that you were with
the Undertaker on Sorry, Paul,I'm rooting for the Undertaker all day,
and for me as much as Ilove the heel work, Yeah, it's

(50:59):
just with the Undertaker, like becauseyou're thinking about the big plan where it's
the streak, so like, Ijust didn't feel that Undertaker would lose to
see him punk, So that's true. Undefeated, Yeah, that is something
that I always felt that the Undertakershould actually continue undefeated at WrestleMania. I

(51:25):
mean though he he debuted in SurvivorSeries, you know, he thrived,
his character thrived. We just sawhim in WrestleMania forty or he popped out
out of nowhere, which was likeone of the best parts of that WrestleMania.
How excited was I? I knowyou were super excited. Everybody was

(51:46):
screaming video. I don't think Ishowed you that video really unbelievable. Do
you think he was going to showI did think he was going to show
the only because he had already beenthere. But I didn't think he was
actually going to show up in thismatch because or in the Wrestling Your forty

(52:08):
match, not this match, becauseobviously he is in this match. But
it was always rumored that they wantedStone Cold to come out, okay,
and because of the history that theRock has a stone Cold So so I
know that you said Sampung's wrestling gearthis time around was it's like an Undertaker

(52:30):
purple, like a lavender type ofcolor, things like that. So,
and the show kicks off with theUndertaker giving a big boots to punk,
Yeah, and for him outside ofthe ring for a brawl. They do
a good brawl. There's even thisone particular spot where the Undertaker is clearing

(52:51):
out this announcer, the Spanish announcerstable, right, and he's going to
give him the last ride the seampunkMan just to get out of it,
and he was it an elbow backelbows or he super kicks them and the
Undertaker just kind of jump flops ontop of the table. Right. Yeah,

(53:12):
that's really funny. So the cmpungoes back in the ring and then
he jumps from the apron all theway to the top turn buckle before he
delivers this macho man inspired elbow. The table doesn't break. I believe the
table's supposed to break in this spot, but it doesn't break. But that

(53:35):
doesn't take away from what grade ofa spot I think this was here.
What about you? Do you haveanything else that you want to talk about
it? In this match in particular, I mean, we get a really
good choke slam by the Undertaker, which is a kind of favorite of mine.
Just seeing that strong hand and thatmove choke choking out people, There's
nothing cooler than that. So,like you said, we get to see

(54:00):
Punk diving and with the elbow dropsonto the Undertaker. Yeah. Another good
part that I like you can wefind a picture of is when the Undertaker
is actually going to have his oldschool move performed on him. See Him
Punk, you know, manages todo the rope the rope walk and he

(54:22):
actually drops the elbow. So itwas good to see that. There's another
move that See Him Punk does onhere where I'm not sure how familiar you
are with this move set, butthe Undertaker usually grabs someone's arm and then
he puts his shoulder into that guy'sshoulder, so he actually does that particular

(54:42):
move too, and then he attemptsto do towards the end, he attempts
to do his own tombstone, andthat ends up consting them because that where
ends up where the Undertaker reverses iton him and he gets deliversus his own
tombstone. Yeah. The Undertaker getsa little bleedy, Yeah he does.

(55:04):
And we get this big is thepin and to win here and the Undertaker
continues the streak twenty one to knowwhat did you think? I thought it
was awesome. This was one ofthe I think it was a highlight of
this WrestleMania and I was excited oneto watch it too. I have to

(55:25):
say this is probably one of myfavorite wrestling matches. Like you know,
I have a ton but this goeslike in my line of favorite wrestling matches.
I like to see the Undertaker, depending his title, we know that
he's gonna win, we know thathe's probably gonna win. I just thought
it was really cool. And thenthey give that tribute to Paul Earn,

(55:47):
which again I'm a fan of,and seeing all like those faces during so
many matches that we've seen before.I like the fireworks at the end,
like the introduction with those hands comingup from below. So I cannot recommend
this match enough. If you watchany match out of this WrestleMania twenty nine,

(56:08):
definitely watch the Undertaker versus them PunkSorry, Pall. It was good.
To see the Undertaker when Yeah, definitely echo what you're saying. I
greatly approve of someone going out thereand carving out twenty three, well maybe
twenty four minutes of their time dueto the entrance of the Undertaker taking a

(56:30):
little bit longer. But if youdo not see seem Punk's entrance that he
has with in living color playing theminto the show, just fast forward a
little bit and watch the Undertakers, because it's a pretty good entrance here.
And the match itself is a veryfantastic match and does some very great and

(56:52):
excellent storytelling, not only between thebuild up because they give you the video
package before, but just the wayit was built up. And I know
that Seampunk is a little salty withinlosing the match or losing the title that
the Royal Rumble to the Rock andmissing out on what he believes his main

(57:15):
event opportunity was later, but Ithink this was a better like trade off
for him, Like he may nothave gotten the real, official like main
event match at a WrestleMania, butthis is a match that I feel that
pretty much stole the show. Yeah, I think there is nothing more iconic

(57:37):
than a match with the Undertaker youknow, I can imagine, like how
many times have you seen the Undertakerwrestle against like the best in wrestling?
You know that's this is a greatmatch and with that earned it earns all,

(57:59):
earns all the act lads and receives. So that were going to match
number seven, Match number seven ofthe night, which has Rock lessener with
Paul Hayman. He's doing double duties. He just came from helping out see

(58:21):
him punk against the Undertaker. Youwere rooting for Triple Yes, I was,
I was not writing for Barack eryou were, so you were cheering
for Triple H. Okay, andJohn Michaels wasn't wrestling in the ring just
a little bit. We get somesweetch and music from him towards the end.
But yeah, so this match goesfor twenty three minutes and fifty five

(58:43):
seconds, no holds bard no holdsbarred. If Hunter loses, then he
has to be he has to retire, forced to retire. So we get
this monstrous entrance for Barack Lessner Barrockand then I'm gonna get the other one

(59:04):
with Triple H coming out here. But they hit this is the thing where
they say that Triple A suffered somesecond degree burns from the dry ice.
There are a couple of injuries duringthis match, I mean during this wrestle
media, so there's that, andthen later I think the Rock also has
some too, so you can definitelyget into it more in the breakdown.

(59:27):
So what did you think? Sothis is twenty three minutes and fifty seconds
and we see our cerebral assassin outsmartthe Easterncarnate. This is you say,
the Triple H is not only abrawler, but he also has like technical
rustling. I saw this as moreof like uprawller match. And then we

(59:52):
see Sean Michael's wearing some like fishingman boots ye going on with his offit
or his waiting booths let us know, because I'm not quite sure what that
one. I thought this match wasokay because when you think about it,
you're like, what better wrestlers tosee, or like, what kind of

(01:00:15):
better characters to see than like aTriple H, A Shawn Michaels, a
barack Lessner, like this match shouldbe excellent and maybe if you were there
you also agree, but I don't. I thought the match was okay.
What about you? Yeah? Ithought this match was like maybe something you

(01:00:37):
might see at a different type ofpaper, dude, maybe not at WrestleMania,
but like maybe like at a Helenthe Cell or elimination chamber match or
something like that. Something like,I know this match is personal because of
the build up, but this matchjust felt like it's hot place, and

(01:01:00):
then it felt more out of placebecause it just had a banger of a
match right before, So once againwe would call this the death spot.
So the Hunter once again, he'slike, I'm gonna be able to work
through this, and then he's like, oh my god, see him punking
Undertaker. Just well, I feltlike the audience was also a little bit

(01:01:22):
gas after just seeing like that's stellarmatch. Yeah, so the theme was
out the Air, out of theBalloon, and it was just kind of
a little lackluster after what we justwatched. Yeah, and they start off
hot in this match. They tryto brawl like to get everyone's attention,
and you know, like Triple Hthrows brock Lessener into the security wall and

(01:01:45):
then into the announcer table and thenI have this last today with some sweet
Chin music because we got to seesome music. Yeah, but with who
Paul He Yeah, Paul Human takesa nice uh kick to the face when
he tries to interfere in this match, and he's out. So I thought

(01:02:10):
this match was fine if you watchit, you know, cool, but
it's definitely not a recommended match forme. For you, they said this
is the past for you too.Yeah, this is a pass for me.
Like they they have like a lotof things that they try to build
here, but it's not like allwrestling base. It's all primarily the like

(01:02:34):
uses of additional things. Like wehad the steel steps being incorporated here by
the ring. Yeah, this isthe thing where security will but like Brian
uses these on the outside and thenhe tosses yeah, he tosses those steps
inside and then he uses it insideof the ring to good shots that you

(01:02:55):
have and then you know, andthen by we had this whole thing where
Brock is using this like arm bartype of hole. It's called the camura
because uh, he was in UFCand it's an actual like lock live type
of like is one of my favoriteit's moura mura and you so, yeah,

(01:03:22):
so we have here lots of timeswhere it's either Brock in this whole
Hunter has Brock in this hole forI think I counted for like maybe a
good two minutes before like they startincorporating the steel steps that are inside.
So then he starts doing it.Uh well, brockets up from this position.

(01:03:46):
He powers them up, and thenhe slams them onto the steel steps,
and then they try to do thatspot because Hunter holds onto that to
that Camora lock still and they tryto do the spot again, right,
and then when Brock picks him up, Hunter shifts himself a little bit and

(01:04:06):
it kind of looks like he's shiftingthem to do to hold on to that
move. But the way they're tryingto sell it is even the announcer weren't
sure, but they said that hemanages to reverse it to get a DDT.
So then they show the replaying thingsalong those lines. But then eventually
Hunter goes back to a sledgehammer andthen he pedigrees broad on top of the

(01:04:30):
steel steps. Wow. Yeah, and I mean with that we get the
pin in the wind and he putsdown the base, securing his WrestleMania Lacacy
shout out to Hunter. H HunterHelmsley the third. I don't know if
he's the third, No, whatwas it like Hunter. Okay, So

(01:04:55):
shout out to him for wrestling withthe second degree burns from the piroteck Max.
You know, I mean that, that's crazy. It happened to him
right before this match, So kudosto him for wrestling all the way through
for a total of what was it, twenty minutes and fifty eight seconds.

(01:05:15):
It was not a favorite match, but again, I could have been just
one of those things where you havesuch a great point of the WrestleMania and
then you just slip down because ofyour excitement. So I could have that
what do you call it, thatthat spot, that spot or you know
if that's viral, Oh, that'sthat's the spot. My mouth does not

(01:05:36):
want to pronounce the team. Sothat's a lot of work. That's That's
the same thing with South Chicago.I see South Chicago. Okay. So
yeah, do you have anything finishingfinish if you want to watch this match,
because it's not a bad match.It's just not a match I recommend

(01:06:01):
because it's like the only thing that'sgoing here is you get to see these
guys beat each other up, whichif you want to see that, like,
go ahead. It's a good brawlermatch. It's a good, like,
this is my career on the line, my best friends in my corner.
He's gonna make sure I don't lose. And yeah, you don't know,

(01:06:24):
so you know that match it's good, But it's just not like we
just saw one of best matches infor for a little bit here, like
and I'm not saying of WrestleMania events. Yeah, but yeah, it's it's

(01:06:45):
it's a tough follow and maybe ifit's under a different like, I mean,
they can't say that they needed togo more time because they got like
almost twenty five minutes, which Ithink is the most match. Yeah,
that's part. Yeah, so Idon't know how long I guess we'll talk
about it right now. How doeswe have to first talk about the Hall

(01:07:06):
of Fame class of thirteen people.Yeah, so let's get it here,
the Hall of Fame of twenty thirteen. You got wrestler. Yeah, we
got your favorite Mick, which I'mlooking forward to watching his documentary, Yeah,
the tease, the documentary The Lifeof mcfoley. So we're gonna go

(01:07:29):
ahead and watch that because Maria isa big fan of mcfoley. And then
we had Bob Becklan, which youhad recommended a match with Bob Bob.
I'm excited to see him here.Yes, we're good to see him.
Booker T. Yes, we gotthe chance to see. We got to
see we got to see my wrestlelife. And Queen Charmel also a wrestler

(01:07:55):
and her own right, like anawesome wrestler and her own rights right.
Bruno san Martino was inducted here, which we got to see I believe in
the first WrestleMania and maybe three, but the first WrestleMania he was accompanying,
accompanying his son David San Martino tothat match, and none other Evan Yeah,

(01:08:18):
Toronto, Canada's own Tristratus. Yeah. So she's part of the w
W Hall of Fame and still activejust like uh. Booker T now a
commentator with the company for the NXTshows. Great selection of those wrestlers and

(01:08:43):
now you actually knew mostly all ofthem that got to go in there.
I'm like, what can I lookthem up? I guess? So that
that takes us to the main events. Yes, Rock Versus Sina two,
the second and main events or themain event? The main event? Was

(01:09:06):
it your main event? But we'llget into this here, so I know
you're living little tidbits about this match. So the Rocket Sina too happened,
obviously because Vince had already projected thisand into the atmosphere from the previous WrestleMania

(01:09:33):
where the Rock had one. Hehad succeeded, he had defeated John Cena,
but guess what, there was notitle on the line. So Vince
starts kind when there's no title onthe line, right, But the Hulkogan
and the Rock from WrestleMania X hadno title on the line. It was

(01:09:53):
just as great to see him Punkversus Undertaker. Yes, it had the
personal history or the street, butit also had like this is my revenge
for you messing with Paul Bear's earnedfor like this whole time and things like
that. You know, So youif you build the feud right, you
know, during the TV time andthings like that, you don't need a

(01:10:15):
belt. And the match last yeartwenty eight or you know, the previous
wrestum in twenty eight, it didn'tneed it, and we still got I
think a good decent match for them. So we have been saying, you
know what, if this is goingto be the main event, I need

(01:10:38):
a title for it. So whenthe Rock comes back. He defeats CM
Punk from his four hundred and thirtyfour days as being WWE champion and takes
Baltimore, which made CM Punk alittle bit upset because he was looking forward

(01:10:58):
to main eventing THEA. If there'sanything we all have heard from seeing Punk
is that he's wanted to main eventa WrestleMania so much that he actually pitched
that. You don't what how aboutI don't lose to the Rock at the
Royal Rumbo. How about I stillhold on to the championship, but we

(01:11:23):
make this a triple threat match whereit's me, The Rock and John Cena
during WrestleMania. Here's the other one. Well, I mean not like to
ne negate him versus The Undertaker, but I wouldn't have mind seeing that match
either. But it wouldn't have beenlike a traditional triple threat match, you

(01:11:44):
know how a triple threat match wherehis first pinfall wins. Okay, So
it would have been an elimination one. So if I pin you, then
you're eliminated and then I get togo one on one with whoever's left.
So I think that's what A thatprobably probably would have worked. The elimination

(01:12:06):
style right, But I think Istill would have preferred it being just like
traditional triple threat one. Okay, but yeah, this match that we have
here, what did you think?Well, first of all, let's talk
names, right, So, Imean, you get these mega wrestlers like
mega start wrestlers, John Cena andThe Rock Wrestling. That's an awesome card.

(01:12:31):
Yeah, but do you do ittwo years in a row? Though?
That's the question is that I thinka lot of people and myself included,
felt like this was a lot ofthe same from the last wrestlingia So
what from this match was you know, so different or so awesome than the
last one that we just saw.And with that, this match was actually

(01:12:53):
kind of a past for me.At the end, we get to see
you know, the Rock sing Ilove you to the crowd and talking with
Sona. Those are all really nicesentiments, but this wasn't spectacular for me.
Am I impressed by the wrestling always. You know, you have two
tall, strong guys that go blowto blow at all times. Their wrestling

(01:13:15):
is impressive, their moves are impressive, their character is larger than life.
You know, I'm a fan ofboth of them and a fan of the
wrestling, but was this, youknow, great for me? I thought
I was okay. What about you? Yeah, I thought it was okay
too, just because I don't thinkthe build up was right. It's the

(01:13:35):
same type of build up that wehad to me in my opinion, from
the previous WrestleMania, only you addeda title to it. Oh, this
is one of the times where Ifelt I feel it felt short and it
didn't really add anything to like warrantanother championship or another remach besides the championship

(01:14:00):
match. So like the announcers didtheir job trying to like hip you up,
Like if Johnsena loses against the Rock, he'll be labeled as someone who
can't win the Big One and then, which is funny because he ends up
having like sixteen championship title runs. But that's what they were trying to sell
to you, Like Johnsena want thathe will be the Jim Kelly, which

(01:14:21):
if you're a football fan, weall know Jim Kelly from the Buffalo Bills
lost four Super Bowls in a rowtoo, you know, So that's why
he's selled up as someone that can'twin the Big One, and they were
trying to lump in John Seena tothat. But regardless of all that,
you know, it's just like Ijust don't see any like reason, and

(01:14:46):
like, despite like some things thatI hated, I think I would have
wanted to see that triple threat matchand not but then if we get that
triple threat match, like you mentioned, we don't get that undertake that threat
match with the Rock Sina and withShawn Michaels Michael, But I think if

(01:15:06):
it wasn't it was a stone holdI think it was seeing the stonefolding shell
Michael. Okay, it was somewhereof these iterations of this that, yeah,
ladies and JEMs like what I Ilike to have seen that as a
finale for this WrestleMania twenty nine.Yeah, but like I said, that's
not to negate the wrestlers. Theway that they wrestled the wrestling was like

(01:15:30):
awesome for like a regular wrestling match. But I feel like we saw this
during WrestleMania twenty eight, so youknow, could they have thrown it into
a triple threat match, that wouldhave been super cool something different. But
I thought the main event for mewas still seeing the Undertaker and Phil I
say, feel like I know himpersonally stampunk and so like we get this,

(01:15:56):
uh, because I had a pictureof my will show them right,
So we had the like it startsout very physical here with them, and
you could tell here that you know, none of these guys are very good
at actually doing any type of submissionholds. This is the one that really
annoys me. As much as Ilike the rock and the work that he

(01:16:17):
does, it annoys me that hestill hasn't managed to figure out how to
do a proper sharpshooter, you know, for a submission hole. It's very
loose and I'm not sure why hecontinued to start or continue to keep doing
it, but you know, it'sone of those things where it's like and

(01:16:44):
we got like a lot of stoppinggoals. We've seen Joshena do this shoulder
black like maybe two or three times, the shoulder tackle thing. Yeah,
one time the rock stops him,and the second time the rock actually moves
or ducks out of the way,and then he finally succeeds in doing it.
So I felt like this felt morelike one of those video games,

(01:17:09):
Like you haven't played any wrestling videogames, and maybe we'll get you into
that, but they have this onewhere you're on the Nintendo sixty four and
it might be a little bit moreeasier just that controllers a little weird,
okay, but compared to like thenewer age ones. So maybe we'll try

(01:17:31):
those out. But you could actuallyif you time something right, you can
reverse it. So if you timepushing a button right, if I'm punching
you, the guy will put uphis arm and then stop you, and
then you can punch back and youcan reverse the finisher. So but that's
what this I think this match suffered. It's like it was back and forth.

(01:17:53):
I reverse you, you reverse me. And that's why I didn't like
to finish either, because it wasjust like so excited as of where It's
like the rock is uh Johnson isgoing for the AA the attitude adjustment,
and then the rock uh counters toa rock bottom and he gets a near
fall to count and then they againtry to like I'm gonna do the AA,

(01:18:17):
No, I'm gonna do the rockbottom. No, I'm gonna do
the AA, and then the rockgets the d DT. He goes for
a rock bottom, but then johnsenaslips out and then he hits the AA
and that's it. Yeah, butit's it felt like it's too much towards
the end a banger no, andit seemed kind of like it had like

(01:18:39):
the same beats that the Undertaker andsee him punk head towards the end.
Then we see solid wrestling. Yes. From my end, I thought it
was like a solid match. Youknow, they're really strong. We hear
that The Rock ends up with andtour muscles, puvis and something like that.
So they're definitely some injuries during thisWrestleMania twenty nine. But with that,

(01:19:03):
this main event was a miss forme, even though we see his
uh seen us hustle, loyalty andrespect. Finally the Throne the Great One.
Yeah, okay, and we getthe celebration at the end where John
Cena has the title and he talksto the Rock. You don't know what

(01:19:25):
they're saying, but it ends witha handshake and a hug, and then
Sina has a title on his handslike we see here and then eventually,
uh, what's a Chicago handshake?That's where you're the Lord and a beer.
Yeah, I haven't had that. You've had my Lord. I've had
my Lord and I've had a beer, but not together. Yeah. So
This is like kind of a passingof the torch, just like when we

(01:19:46):
had the passing of the torch betweenHall Coogan and The Rock and WrestleMania x
eight. Yeah, this is supposedto be the whole thing where it's not
like they're passing it out to Sena. Yeah, okay, well what that's
sud And you know, I likethat intention, but much like my lords,
I can't say that that takes inyour mouth. I can't say that

(01:20:10):
this match is highly recommended for me. But do you have any final comments
in that match? No? Ijust don't recommend that people go out and
watch this match. I don't feellike it adds anything to the rivalry of
John Cena and The Rock that thefirst match didn't add or introduced to you

(01:20:32):
and WrestleMania twenty eight. If anything, we should probably had another match,
you know how we had built uplike we had the Rock and so cold.
We didn't have any ladies matches, yam. Do you have anything about
that? Because I think that's likea streak that's broken where it's either like
thirteen years just scrob like the streakof thirteen years, and there was supposed

(01:20:56):
to be a women's match on heresupposed to be the Bellots with I don't
remember who versus the Funkadanktos, whichwould have had Naomi Cameron with Brodus Clay
and Lord Tenzon. No, thatwould have been awesome to see. After
the Undertaker versus Punch, maybe thatprobably would have been a good cooler match,

(01:21:18):
like to give people time to rebuildtheir stamina. But I think they
were already. They had already, like as fast as those first five matches
had gone, they had already Iguess built too much time, like where
they were like, we can't throwyou out there without it being like a

(01:21:40):
four or five minute match, eventhough there is like lots of that airtime
when they're like filming and hyping upthings. We got like a rock scene,
a build like three times, likea video pankage like three or four
times in this pay per view.So maybe they could have done a little
bit better, but so it wasgood. So we had a a few

(01:22:00):
really great matches out of this, and all together there were over a million
pay per view fives, which wasactually less than the previous year by two
hundred and five thousand, which isdifferent, but this event still set a
record for the highest grossing live eventin WWE history. So that's seventy two

(01:22:21):
million dollars doll hairs doll hair Okay, and with us oh, it also
set a record at that MetLife Stadium, which the name hasn't changed. Usually
we go through a few stadium changeswith the names. And there were over
eighty thousand, six hundred and seventysix people that were in attendance, right,

(01:22:44):
which is the second highest tunneling wrestlingevent after Wrestling Media three not today
have oh And like I said,we had injuries, so Triple H with
the second degree burns the Rock hehad torn muscles and tendons around his not
his shoulder, but his pall this. Yeah, so it was a bad

(01:23:05):
night for missus Rock, That's true. But yeah, I've heard too maybe
for a little while. So doyou have anything else? The Science are
thinking our fans and friends for theirsupport and their enthusiasm. Not much here

(01:23:25):
as far as like our podcast isconcerned. We do plan on doing the
rest soul Mania thirty revisit. Andhere, like I mentioned before previously,
we are going two weeks. Everytwo weeks are releasingers our episode. So
the next episode we hope to haveout here would be on the twenty seventh

(01:23:47):
son It. You know, we'llget into it here because that's live from
New Orleans. Other than that,if you do want to hear anything else,
I did watch all the other Ithink from what had transpired before.
Was I saw that a pay perview. We saw money in the bank

(01:24:11):
ladder matches. Do you have anythingto add but you saw only got to
sell. Wanted to see the woman'sone because when I started watching the woman's
one, it seemed like it wouldbe better than the men's one. It's
all good, but I think thewoman's one probably ends up being better.
What do you think? Yeah,I agree with that, and then I
do We do have a match thatwe should probably have. You watched too

(01:24:32):
from a w which was Swerve Striplingversus will Last Break. Other than that,
