Speaker 1 (00:05):
Hey, welcome. We are revisiting the Mania WrestleMania Rewatch podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
I'm Carlos and I'm Maria, your resident market.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Training and today we have a big task on our
hand because we will be doing the first of pay
per view, first WrestleMania to be a two night event,
so I think we're going to be able to get
this in all in one city in here.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
It's the most unique, controversial, a little bizarre WrestleMania that
I've watched today.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Yeah, I was not there, You were not there. Nobody
was there except for the performers. So with that, we'll
get into our favorite matches, if there were any favorite matches,
because it's a very like Maria Mitchell, controversial pay per
view where there were some hits, missus, and we'll go
as far as what's our favorite as her as a
(01:05):
marketing training first time watching this pay per view that
no one attended and for me revisiting this pay per
view as someone watching it again for the second time.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Why did no one attend this event? So, this, like
Carlos said, marks several firsts. The first WrestleMania without a
live crowd due to COVID nineteen, the pandemic It was
also the first we spread across two nights.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
What else, it was the first one that gave us
cinematic matches. We have two cinema two cinematic matches, The
Undertaker Boneyard Match and the John Cena versus Bray Wyatt,
The Firefly Fire the Firehouse, the Firefly fun House match.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Say that three times past. So we had a few
questionable booking decisions that we'll talk about in just a
few But despite these flaws, it remains a memorable event,
one that we're actually still talking about today in twenty
twenty five, and people are still talking about y'all have
a lot of favorites. I was looking at the internet.
(02:19):
I saw a few comments talking about a few of
these matches being pretty historical, like that Undertaker match. So
let's break it all down, match by match, starting with Night.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
One, Night one, our first match to kick off WrestleMania
the COVID edition. Well, first, I always like to give
the said problem. Yeah, let's go ahead and show this
was the set everybody.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Did you like it? Did you love it?
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Did you think about it? I know it's not the
most elaborate thing that you're seeing, and it's very, very
small because it's tape. This portion inside of the WWE
Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, and Lando, Florida where they
do most of the NXT tapings, and.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
This was filmed March twenty fifth and twenty six to
twenty twenty. Y'all found out later that it actually went
live on April fourth and fifth, again marking the first
time in WrestleMania was aired over two nights, and also
there was a tape delay. Usually we see it in
person in vivo live, but of course it's time due
(03:26):
to the pandemic, there was a delay yep.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
And then we had a host to ground Kowski who
had nothing else to do during COVID like many.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Of us except for bake bread.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Yeah, and hosts WrestleMania. So the first match, finally we're here.
It is the Kabuki Warriors versus Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Gonna talk about the tagline.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
What was the tagline?
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Too big for just one night? And as we know,
there were zero attendees, but as the legend says or
that there might have been. Yeah, I was thirty seven
thousand people of Vince was the biggest night ever. Yeah,
I heard this number.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Yeah, Vince was saying that this was the biggest kat
he's ever had, and even though there was coronavirus. I
don't know who you could believe, You could believe me,
you could believe Vince?
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Was it zero? What's the thirty seven thousand?
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Who's to say?
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Who's to say?
Speaker 1 (04:26):
But with this match we have goes for fifteen minutes
and five seconds. Maria, you have any favorites or anyone
that you're rooting for between the Kabuki Warriors, Aska and
Kyrie saying versus Alexa Bliss Niki Cross.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Well, during this first match that was aired, because there
was one before this that wasn't televised. I was a
fan of the Kabuki Warriors. Okay, so match time for
this is fifteen minutes five seconds. Who are you a
fan of?
Speaker 1 (04:57):
I was also a fan of the Koabuki Warriors, was
not a fan of the name, but I didn't have
a favorite, you know, dul in this it was Oscar
and fan of Aska.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Yeah, so Alexa blast is what just a little over
five one? All these ladies are on the same hYP.
They all have that short girl, strong girl energy. The
highest or tallest person was Asca five three, So what
do you think about the storyline for the first match.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
I don't think there was that much of a storyline
to it as far as a build up to it.
It was just, you know, these two mismatch people or
women Askska sorry, Nikki and Alexa managed to you know,
like Perfect Strangers type of thing where they just put
(05:52):
together and they're facing off a well established team.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Wasn't that a show Perfect Stranger?
Speaker 1 (05:57):
It was? It was based in Chicago.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
Was it? I didn't know it was based in Chicago.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Give us the first introduction to Harriet Winslow.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
I remember watching that on, you know, during those summertime
reruns when we were off of school. So Bliss and
Cross close friends with polar opposite personalities. Like you said,
they're seeking redemption after previous failed bids, right. I really
enjoyed Aska wrestling.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
She's a fist wrestler, so basically a little bit of chaos.
We get a flying elbow that connected perfectly, and we
get some lands hit by Bliss. Twisted Bliss to secure
a pin for this.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
That was a good spot right there where Kyrie's giving
the legs a little bit of a spear there. There's
not that many pictures that I could pull out or
find on the internet, but those were like a few men.
Like you mentioned, there was that twisted bliss. There was
a good lot of good tech team. I felt like
this was a well fast paced, well structured match. You
(07:02):
can see that all the women in their head solid
chemistry because of all the tandem work. Like you mentioned,
there was a part where they do like a bulldog
into a drop kick. I believe that was from Oscar
and Kyrie Saying. And then there was a good spot
that I remember, like towards the end, where there's a
(07:25):
twisted bliss like you mentioned, and then then Kyrie Saying
is off screen and she comes in and does her
insane elbow. And then there was another spot where they
do like a power bomb and a clotheslines spot too.
So I thought that this was a really good match
as far as trying to get the energy there, I'm
sure like if there was people there in the audience,
(07:48):
they definitely would have been able to get them on
their feet, and I just without it, we had to rewatch.
I watched this like maybe three or four times. I'm
not sure Maria got do the same time as I did.
But besides the rewatch that if we just did so
even with that, just trying to get through it, trying
(08:09):
to pick up the pieces, the spots and everything. It's
a good, solid match, but I'm not sure if it's
something that it's worth revisiting. What about you?
Speaker 2 (08:19):
All right? So, like we talked about Alexa Blisniki Cross
via they wouldn't via pinfall? Did you think that one
was appropriate?
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Just to yeah, you need to have them win via pinfall. No,
no type of cheap gimmick gye or shortcuts or anything
like that. Because even though Oscar and Kyrie are a
strong tang team, they haven't had that many like title defenses.
But they were they still held it for a very
(08:47):
long time. So if you managed to get the newer
champions a clean win, like no cheating, no anything, no controversy,
then it makes the newer champions look a little bit.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Controversy is always fun. But I got what you're saying.
So why was it significant for me? This mark the
first title change of the no crowd era. We had
no crowd helped establish Blissing Cross as a top women's team.
We have four strong women wrestlers. I love their gear
(09:19):
usually I enjoy a ladder match in a WrestleMania, But
I also enjoy a tag team match, and I thought
this was pretty good. Was it worth a revisit for you?
Speaker 1 (09:31):
No, it was not revisit for me, even with an Oscar,
even with a NASCAR Like, if you're a big fan
of Oscar and you want to see her work, then yes, revisit.
Or if you're a fan of Alexa Bliss and now
that she's returned and Nikki Kross, go ahead. But as
far as like, is this essential viewing for a newer
(09:53):
fan who's starting their wrestling journey or an older fan
who's like trying to get more familiar who's coming back. No,
I did not.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
Oh was it worth a revisit for me? I would
actually say yes. So for fans of OSCA like yourself
or women's tag team wrestling, it had solid pace, solid pacing,
There was a little emotion to the wrestling tag team
(10:23):
despite the quiet atmosphere, which I will admit was a
little jarring for me. You just realize how important the
audience is, with all of our jeers, cheers, our shouts
getting up, all of that adding to the chaos of
a wrestling match. So like you said you had to
(10:43):
watch this a few times. I would recommend this going
out for this, I recommend you revisit. It's the first
match that we have for this wrestling WRESTLINGIA thirty six.
Why not watch it? I'm a fan of Osca, love
the gear. I had a good time with that.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Okay, and with that that takes us to our next match.
His name is Elias versus King Corbin. So this match
goes for.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
A total of nine minutes, no extra seconds.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Yeah, so what did you think? Who were you looking for?
I know you're not a fan of Alias and you're
not a fan of King Corbin.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
But why am I not a fan of Elias? List?
Oh no, it's definitely not list. I'm less from I'm
less friendly. I also may or may not have a
list of times. Uh so, No, it's not because of
the list. What else is hair? No? Not because of
the hair?
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Is it because he comes out and interrupt people and
he says his name's Alias?
Speaker 2 (11:47):
No, that's actually the fun part of his gimmick. Okay,
I don't know what it is. You can't win them all,
you know, So Elias, mister, what's this? I don't want
to mispronounced? Last name Jeffrey is Giolo or is it Sholo?
Speaker 1 (12:03):
I don't know. I did not get his government name,
but it might be Shoelo.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
I was actually impressed with King Corbin. He stands over
eight inches over Elias and he is a little heavier
at two hundred and eighty five where Elias is about
two hundred and seventeen. Elias is built from Pittsburgh, So
do you guys call it the pit?
Speaker 1 (12:25):
If you do call it the pit, please feel free
to drop a comic below and let us know what
you call it the pit.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
And if you haven't subscribed, then you watched us as far,
please subscribe let us know what you're interested. I'm watching
us revistening these Manias. But I think this match was
a solid match. What do you think about it?
Speaker 1 (12:46):
This match was kind of like your basic grudge match.
So we had two guys here, maybe able to have
benefited more from having the crowd there, because that way
you can at least get more momentum build up there,
But it's just like without a crowd, this is pretty
much just false flat. We get like a sneak attack
(13:07):
from Elias to start off this smatch with the guitar,
so many guitars get broken.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
That's why it's the guitar. It's all the singing, singing,
It's all the singing instead of the wrestling. That's that's
that's what it is.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
That's the trigger, the trigger.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Yeah, I'm not here for the long bouts of singing,
even if you're enjoying a bathroom break or getting a
beer or popcorn during this time. I am not a
fan of that. So, but I just want to see
more wrestling.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
More wrestling like this where Elias strikes out strong and
with a neck breaker, but eventually Corbyn takes control and
Corbyn hits his deep six and they look like Corbyn
is gonna win, but Lias manages to do with the
(13:59):
sneak key schoolboy roll up pin in the win and
he gets his first ever WrestleMania win. So do you.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Agree that this match is more about revenge and titles.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Yeah, that's how the storyline was built. There was a
break up there and I just told you this this
was more based on the c But I like that
you still committed to asking me if this is more
about being rivaled in titles.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
I was supposed to be like the big highlight of
this match.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
This is the one where you're you're invested your whole
time based on the storyline that you believe that King
Corbyn should get his come up and it's against the underdogs.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
Were there really highlights? For me? There was something flashy
during this match. We had some basic strikes, tns, roll
up win like you may have mentioned Elias one via
a roll up pin, mostly filler and for me, this
(15:03):
is more of like build, more work than any major action.
And I cannot say that you should dream us at
this match unless you're a completionist and you need to
do something from start to finish, which is what I
do at times with things. Otherwise, I say skip it.
It's skippable.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
Yeah, And I'm on the same page. Whether you're a
newer fan or a fan that's looking for something to rewatch,
or an older fan that's just joining back, just skip
this match. There's these guys are both not in the company,
so it doesn't really matter to anything going forward. So
with that, we move on to match number three. Man
(15:45):
the Man Becky Lynch versus The SHANEA Baslor shanea Basler,
the submission magician. That's what I was looking for.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
That's a monitor I have all no and this.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Is the women's championship for.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Eight minutes and thirty seconds.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Yes, So what do you think about that? Well, first
of all, I'm sure you wanted to get a pick.
You wanted me to get a picture of this, so
I found it, so we get and I believe Becky
Lynch is the only one as far as the women's
to get one of these nice little entrances. But Becky
Lynch comes in driving a semi us with her name
(16:32):
airbrushed or her name, her face is pretty much custom
made onto this. What did you think about this entrance?
Speaker 2 (16:40):
I think it's impressive. I think it's awesome and it's
pretty cool entrance. I mean you can see it right
here in this photo, everything from the man to her
photo on the truck. And I'm a fan of a
big rig all decked out for those of you that
don't know, you know, I think it's a great entrance.
(17:02):
I love this spell, love her gear. Very big fan
of her as well. And I was impressed.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
I liked that good. So you're a fan of Becky Lynch,
you're a fan of Shana Basler or was she the
one you were booing?
Speaker 2 (17:18):
And I was I was b boo ooing her? You
were I was, okay, yeah, nothing personal, just I'm a
fan of Becky.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
All right, So what did you think about this match?
Speaker 2 (17:29):
I thought it was pretty I guess it was pretty cool.
I think they're very strong wrestlers and she dominated what
was it an elimination.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Chamber, Shane Basler did eliminate. She eliminated all of the
participants of the Elimination Chamber the month or two months
before to get her title shot.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
At Becky Lynch presenting her is that she was like
an unstoppable monster, you know, for this WrestleMania. So I'm
sure people were looking forward to it. Were you looking
forward to it? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (18:06):
I was definitely looking forward to it, not only because
of that, but also because you have this whole thing
where she had to build up in NXT. So if
you had followed her trajectory from NXT all the way
to to now being brought up to WrestleMania. But you know,
having that dominant little run in the Elimination Chamber, You're like,
(18:29):
how is Bekilynch gonna win? She's such another dominant force,
and you know, this was a very hard hitting, aggressive match,
and this played to Shana's quote quote gimmick where she
was a former Mixed Martial Arts.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
Comeback Marshall Mixed Martial Arts.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Yeah, so you know she put on she did her
best to win this title from her. You know, they
even take it outside where you had to say it.
But yeah, Shana gets her here in one of these
arm like these arm bars type of thing. But eventually
all things, Becky is able to muster up some courage
(19:17):
and keep going and motivation, and then she ends up
also rolling her up and getting into a pinon a
win situation.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
And for those news that are out there like me
just kind of getting into WrestleMania, Becky Lynch actually held
the title for a year, right.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
This is after she had won the previous Wrestlemanial WrestleMania
thirty five where the women had main invented. She had
won the SmackDown and the Raw Women's title away from
Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
So this match was full of some stuff strikes, counters
Like you said that roll up. Do you think it
was echoing Brad Hart versus Piper from WrestleMania.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
What was it that would have been WrestleMania eleven or eight, yeah,
or eight, so that's when. But it might have if
it had like something similar to that storyline, because you
always had Roddy Piper saying that he grew up with
(20:25):
Brad like not like knowing of Brad because Brat's younger,
but he trained in the dungeon, so he, you know,
he had that type of camaraderie with him. These ladies,
even though they were probably mixed together in NXT, there
are nexteen different times, so I could see where someone
might have made that comparison as far as like storyline wise,
(20:49):
where someone would say that the the go home the
ending is the same, but this is completely different than that,
in my opinion, because Brett Hart wasn't wasn't going to
be dominated by Roddy Piper the way Shane Basler was
(21:10):
dominating Becky Lynch. And she managed to just get away
with the scrape of you know, just doing the roll
up and you know, honing in all of her instincts,
all of those hours in the ring and all of
those matches where she's like this, you know, what's my
only way to win? You know, Okay, she'll never see
the school boy roll up pin coming, right, And they
(21:33):
don't know how happening storyline wise, character wise things.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
So the winner of this match was Becky.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Lynch Beculin entertains and and and then them to this.
We find out, or she finds out later on that
she is expecting, so she has to relinquish her belt.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
This is her final WrestleMania appearance before her pregnancy. Correct,
So did this mark the end of the man era?
Speaker 1 (21:59):
It mark the end of the man era until she
returns back from you know, giving birth and having her
time off.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
So do you think this was worth the rays it?
Speaker 1 (22:11):
It would not say that it's worth a revisit, mainly
because it's such a short match and then it feels
like it never got anything started. So I'm not sure
if maybe there were hints or maybe somebody knew that
Becky was expecting, and because it seems like even though
they do have some hard hitting hits, it still seems
like they play it safe. So if maybe if she
(22:35):
wasn't expecting, they could have gone a little bit longer,
Like if this would have had like another six eight minutes,
then you could have had lots of more acts. I
guess you could say. Where Shana starts off strong, Becky
manages to get a few hits in, but Shanea still
keeps up the pressure. We get a couple of near
(22:57):
falls and then you know, Becky starts to come back
and it makes it more meaningful where she's like she's
still trying to rally and rally. But then the only
way after like two or three rallies have failed, right,
the only way she's able to win is because of
the roll up. Right.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
Well, like you said, this is a past for you,
not a rivet. This is not a RAVEZD for me.
Maybe arivis it for you? Since excuse me? The storyline
pays off fans and it shows some of Basler's Basler
Basler's dominance in the ring, so it was not a
ravisit for both of us. But like we said, if
(23:35):
you're a fan of backing the man Lage or Baisler,
take a take a re visit.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Yeah, and with that that Texas to the next match,
Match number five of Night one, Remember guys.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Night one, just one.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
Yeah, we have Daniel O'Brien accompanyed by Drew Gulak versus
Sammy Zain who is accompanied by Shinsky, Nakamura and Czarro
and this magic goes for nine minutes and twenty seconds
for the Intercontinental Championship. Yes, Maria, you are a fan
(24:12):
of Daniel Bryan I am. Are you a fan of
Sammy Zin?
Speaker 2 (24:18):
I'm kind of a fan of Sammy Zein, who's still
wrestling is part of WW today.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
You're a fan of the Honorary Oose.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
Yeah, he's part of the bloodline right now for those
who are currently watching and for those that may not
be familiar with him. So Zane's title rain? Do you
think it annoyed Brian? I thought he was gonna he
was working on restoring honor to the icy title.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
What do you think I think storyline wise did annoyed him.
But these guys have have a lot of history together
coming up in indies is particularly the Ring of Honor,
so I'm sure there was lots of respect when it
came to them behind the scenes, but storyline wise, that's
how it got presented.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
So what do you think about seeing do you think
he's reinvented himself as a top heel character?
Speaker 1 (25:08):
And this this was my favorite run of Sammy's am
We normally get like his best friend from Canada, Kevin Owens,
always having these heel runs, but it's Kevin Owens.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
Last night when we were watching Friday Night Macdown, Friday
Night Smckdown, I can't keep up sometimes there's so much wrestling.
So I was saying, to see Ko, Kevin Owens is
not going to be a part of this WrestleMania forty
right forty one forty one spoiler if you guys not
(25:42):
watched neckdomb but I'm sure you heard it or read
it on Twitter. I call it Twitter or maybe blue
Sky or something like that.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
Yeah, he has some neck issues and he needs to
take some time off. So our best wishes to a
speedy and full recovery for Kevin Owens. May he fight
Owens fight his way back into the ring. So this,
like I was getting back to uh Sammy Zin didn't
(26:12):
have that any heel runs, but this was pretty much
one of the heel runs. If you're new to the podcast,
I'm a very big fan of heels. As I've grown
up and I guess matured in watching wrestling, I'm a big.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Fan of heels too, wearing them, walking in them, and
buying them the show.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
The show. It's a good call. But yeah, this was
like it clearly told the story of you know, Sammy's
ain here, he's playing the cowardly heel who's trying to
stay away from the guy who more likely would beat
them if they were one on one. You know, Daniel
Brian is a very technical wrestler and at this point
(26:56):
in time, he's you know, trying to he's playing the
good fair fight both things. So I thought this match
was one of these things. Because this goes for nine
minutes twenty seconds. Okay, I'm sure this match also would
have benefited from people in the crowd having the yes movement,
(27:17):
having all the yes, yes, yes behind Sammy's aim.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
And the first night was a little rough, and some
of these without the crowd because it was so jarring,
and I guess we already have that expectation of the
crowd being so interested and you know, like part of
being part of the match. So yeah, well would it
be a revisit for you?
Speaker 1 (27:38):
No, as far as this match, I was going to
get to it, like, this match probably could have benefited
from like a crowd helping build the momentum for that,
and I feel that with this it could have also
benefited for maybe like five or six more minutes. You
get some of the distractions here like that you get
(28:00):
for like a heel, you get Shinsk getting himself involved,
and then you also get Drew Gulak trying to even
the odds here for Daniel Brian by taking out shince
K and Cesarro there. But eventually, you know, as a
cowardly heel or like what Daniel what samy Zan is playing,
(28:26):
he has to he takes advantages of an over aggressive
Daniel Brian. When Daniel Brian's setting up himself onto the
top of the ropes, he manages to hit him with
one of those Halluma kicks and he gets depending to
win and retains his Intercontinental championship, which is how we're
(28:47):
setting up and how this is cementing more of Sammy
Zaine's He'll run.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
Okay, Yeah, so there's some character work, we have some storytelling.
As you mentioned, I think the crowd would have added
to this overall match, that's not a rebas it for me,
and it's not a rebasant for you, given though you're.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
A big fan of a few, I'm a fan of
Daniel Brian or Brian Daniels and Shinsk and Cizarro, and
I'm not sure what they're doing with Shinska Skate is
the only one that's still in here besides Sammy zaying
they're still in the company. They have given Shinsk like
this whole like Bronan type of Darth like Star Wars,
(29:27):
like a Darth lookate. They had put like black Eye
makeup on him and trying to make him like very menacine. Well,
he lost his title back to Ellen Knight, so it
wasn't going very good. I thought they really could have
done something there, and I'm not sure if they probably
killed it because I believe they're saying his contracts up. Okay,
so who knows if he's going to re sign with
(29:48):
them or not.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
And with that, well, that takes us to match number
is six. John Morrison versus a fave of mine, Kolfe
Kingston Birth. This is a fave of ours, Jimmy Ussol.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
Yeah, so this match goes four a.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
Total of eighteen minutes and thirty seconds for SmackDown Tag
Titles Triple Threat Ladder match.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Yeah, and this match, I'm not sure if you're wondering,
because this is for the SmackDown Tag Team Tag Team Championships, right,
where are the other three guys? Well, to answer your question,
if that's something that you had the miss was in quarantine.
He had come up, but they had never confirmed that
it was COVID, And I think the miss is the
(30:37):
tag team with John Morrison.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
He missed the fun.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
Yeah, he missed all the fun and same thing with
Jay and it was just COVID protocols and there was
That's how we ended up getting this three way instead
of a traditional like six people in the ring for
a ladder match.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
Makes sense. So Morrison's wrestling styles a little bit more
Parkore base, a little acrobatic, so we saw him do
some flips, which I thought was pretty cool. Of course,
Kolfie is such a strong wrestler, such a good wrestler,
big fan, and how can we not be a fan
of oose Oh. So he's definitely fast paced wrestling. He's
(31:25):
got on those strikes and I look forward to seeing
the wrestle. But let's talk about the match.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
Yeah, so what do you have? We got all of
these guys facing off. Do you have any favorite spots
or anything that you want to talk about? Because I
could talk about this match. Even though this match was
for eighteen minutes and thirty seconds, I feel like this
match was like NonStop. It was a very creative, fast
paced battle and had a lot of high risk moves.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
Road walks, springboards.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
Yeah, I had something. We have a you know die
from the ladder there from Kofi onto John Morrison. We
had a twisting splash and a Spanish fly from John
Morrison on one of the spots that I was in.
The action moved so fast I wasn't able to get
pictures or find anything. Kingston also had some good spots
(32:19):
where he had a springboard, her karana, a flying double spot,
double stamp, and his uh this is one of his
suicide dives and Jimmy usso not to be not to
be out of the action also had some very good
delivering some of his whoso splashes and super kicks, especially
(32:41):
when John Morrison was like diving off of the top
rope and he didn't remember. He timed it perfectly and
he kicked John Morrison and stopped him dead in his tracks.
So those were some pretty cool one But this match
ends with all of these guys battling on top of
the ladders and jim me headbutts. Jimmy and Kofe both
(33:03):
had butt John Morrison. But while they're all reaching up there,
John Morrison I guess was able to unlatch the belts
and he falls down with the titles living Jimmy and
KOFE staring down at John Morrison, like what happened?
Speaker 2 (33:24):
So we have Like you said, I went from like
a triple like what was it called?
Speaker 1 (33:32):
It was like you guys are like a six man tag,
a six man ladder match for the tag titles, you
could say.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
So, I think that we had these three remaining the
booking was good for this match or the revisit. Yes,
for me, I thought it was one of the best
matches of Night one, and I really enjoy all three
of these guys wrestling. We have some strong wrestlers here.
What do you think?
Speaker 1 (33:58):
Yeah, I think that this was I guess you could
say it was adrenaline rush from start to finish, Like yeah,
I mean, I don't know if you were, but you know,
this kept my attention, Like I said, like you eighteen
minutes I had my attention. It doesn't seem Yeah, it
doesn't seem like it seems to drag it anytime there
because there's always some type of high spot or something
(34:20):
going on there.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
It was like drinking a monster drink.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
Yeah. For newer fans. Yeah, if you is your first
introduction to wrestling. First of all, if you're watching this
and you're looking for us to give you recommendations, thank
you very much for watching. If you haven't done so
already or you know, please feel free to like, subscribe,
share with anyone.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
These are the best recommendations on the internet. They're okay,
but fine.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
We try our best and break these down and see
and tell you why you should watch it like this.
This is a very wild, high energy expect the all
of these guys are very seasoned veterans in ladder matches,
not only Kofi, but also Jimmy Usso and especially John Morrison.
(35:10):
John Morrison is still wrestling. All of these guys are
still no John Morrison is working dn DS, He's working
at AW He's known as Johnny TV and sometimes you'll
see him and three player Mexican Wrestling Promotion.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
So go on tell me more.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
It's about it. Besides my other recommendation if you're a
longtime fan, also I recommend that you watch this if
you have not done so, or if you're looking to
kill eighteen nineteen minutes, you know, it's a fun ladder
match and it shows you even though this is the
COVID era. This shows you how you can still pull
(35:51):
off an interesting ladder match that still reaches out to
the audience audiences that are watching at home and keep
their attention.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
So with that, we are going to bring you to
one of the most talked about wrestling matches of WrestleMania
thirty six.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
What matches that?
Speaker 2 (36:13):
Well, I guess I miss see one because I've heard
this is a good match too, though, So let's talk
about the fun.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Yeah. The next match Maria fixes her notes is Kevin
Owens versus Seth or Rollins. This is before he becomes
what is this? What is he now? Seth freaking Rollins
or now they take the freaking away. So right now
(36:39):
he's the Messiah. He's the Monday Night Messiah. Seth Rollins
versus Kevin Owens k This match also goes for seven
between minutes and twenty seconds, but it's not just one
match because Seth Rollins gets himself disqualified about six seven
(37:00):
minutes into this match, really yeah, because he uses the
bell and Kevin Owens calls him out and calls him
a coward and tells him to come back to wrestle him.
So we get another match we started that ends up
being no dq.
Speaker 2 (37:16):
Oh, that's the way to do it. I will say
I remember this match from day from Night one of
Wrestling at thirty six because it was really good, and
it was really good despite not having an audience. That's
how good the wrestling was. So this is a revisit
for me because the wrestling was really intense, really good,
(37:39):
and like you said, here we are what twenty twenty five?
Speaker 1 (37:42):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
I had to look at the date, but.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
Here we are March six, five, five, five years later.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
And both of these guys, both of these wrestlers are
still top wrestlers and WWE a fan of them both
A Kevin we just talked about him a few seconds ago.
We hope he heals. I thought he was going to
be a part of this WrestleMania forty But what did
you think about the match?
Speaker 1 (38:09):
All right? Since I still have my there, so this
is what I have in here is what started as
a solid drug match he volu into I guess sething
memorable as this point. I think until WrestleMania thirty eight,
Kevin Owens has not had like you normally when you
think about these superstars that have been here for like five, six,
(38:32):
ten years, they have a WrestleMania moment like KOFE, like
going back to the last match he had his WrestleMania moment.
Remember WrestleMania thirty four, kofee Mania Re's Wild Red and
so Seth Rollins right now, WrestleMania thirty one, just heightst
of the Century where he catches in his money in
(38:54):
the bank title and runs down and screws Roman reigns
out of his match with Brocklansner. So I think this
is the first time where you could say that Kevin
Owens had his wrestum in the moment. So let's get
into this. Here he goes, the match starts off, was
Seth Rollin is wearing all white, and I believe he
mentions that he did not want to wear all white
(39:16):
because even though he's the messiah, Vince convinced him that
he has to wear all white because of that particular thing.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
You wasn't it your favorite celebrity wrestler was also wearing
all white. I can't leave her name.
Speaker 1 (39:28):
Uh, Maria's is not my favorite celebrity wrestler, that is
your favorite celebrity.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
So Maria, you're listening and watching right now. I'm a
big fan of you.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
Yeah, so I thought that this match delivered a very
hard hitting contest with great storytelling. Uh, and they had
some really great spots. You could tell that these guys
were really selling the personal grudge match that they had
and and it was just like an allline an all
(40:03):
out brawl they did. They they brawled on the side
they like, yeah, I'm about to get to that. They
had this falcon arrow believe is this move that's done
on the apron. And here's the high spot Kevin Owens
WrestleMania moment. He climbs the set and delivers are very
(40:27):
brutal elbow drop two Seth Rollins down below who is
going through the table, the announcer's table. So after that,
Kevin Owens drags Seth Rollins back into the ring, continues
a little bit of beat down before he gives them
(40:47):
the stunner and it's a one two three penn in
the wind for Kevin Owens. And you already made your
assessment that this match should be a rewatch.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
Yeah, I mean he's Owens is a brawler, a talker,
he's a fan favorite, and like you said, Rollins is
the Monday Night Messiah, manipulator, the technician. So for me,
this was absolutely worth three visits. To me, this WrestleMania
(41:21):
was going a little slow, little hard to watch without
the audience, but this needed no audience. It was just
a really good match that I cannot recommend enough to you.
So revisit.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
And ask for me for a newer fan. If you
haven't watched this match, yeah, I highly recommend that you
go out and watch this so you can go ahead
and connect with these two. In the story. You'll see
Kevin Owens that's a scrappy, determined underdog who refuses to lose,
(41:56):
just like how we had with the previous man, just
as well those scrappy underdog story modes that we had
with like Daniel Bryan and things like that. So you
get that one from Kevin Owens, you also will be
able to get that hate that you know, Seth, that
(42:18):
you get from like Seth Rollins, who's coming out to
you bold enough to say that he's the Monday Night Messiah.
He's here to save people who watch Monday Night Raw
from I guess mediocrity of wrestling. It's out there. So yeah,
I thought that whether you're a newer fan, or if
(42:39):
you're looking to watch something because you know it's been
a long time and WrestleMania is about another ten days
away or so, or twelve days away so coming. Yeah,
So if you need something to watch, then you're saying
that Kevin Owens isn't there, go ahead and revisit this match.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
Too, That's true. That's a take.
Speaker 1 (42:58):
Yeah, And with this, this leads us to our next match,
Bronz Stroman versus Bill Goldberg. And this match is for
the WWE Universal Championship, which is on the SmackDown brand
and goes for two minutes and ten seconds. Maria, you
(43:21):
are a fan of Bill Goldberg? Question Mark, Yeah, because
I really haven't heard you say anything. You're a fan
of Bill Goldberg. I'm just I can't imagine that you're
also a fan of Brown Stroman.
Speaker 2 (43:36):
I don't have a problem with him. I'm a fan
of his wrestling. He is more of a brawler. But
you tell me how long was he wrestling? And when
I think of Goldberg, do you think of him as
like that big name of WWE wrestling.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
No, when you think about Bill Goldberg, for you, your
years are not wrestlers, but viewers. Out there that had
not watched too. Yeah, if you're wrestling and you want
to come out here and talk with us and maybe
set me straight on what I'm thinking in any of
these matches, I'd like to be Yeah, please feel free
(44:13):
to reach out to us. But yeah, because we've only
had one wrestler around here. Thank you very much to
the Zimbie King from Four Sizes of the Ring for
joining us. But shout out to you guys. But this match,
when you think about Bill Goldberg, it's more like associated
with WCW. He had that incredible run where he was built.
(44:35):
He was booked as being unefeeded until he lost to
Kevin Ash being cattle prodded and having his title taken away.
So after that, I mean, people were still hot for
Goldberg and for some reason they still wanted him to
come back. But he had never had one of these
long matches, which, as you can see here is another
(44:57):
short match.
Speaker 2 (44:58):
So you remind me a little bit of sarg fodder.
Speaker 1 (45:01):
Does he? Okay? So with this short height impact slokfest,
do you have anyone that you were rooting for Goldberg?
Speaker 2 (45:11):
I think it's an obvious selection for me.
Speaker 1 (45:15):
Look at the these uh, the differences as far as
not only girth but also and also in beer wise,
because look at look at that full uh beer that
bron Stroman is rocking there compared to Goldberg's. But Bill
(45:36):
Goldberg is you know, no slouch, and he takes his
right to bron Stroman by hitting him out with a spear.
And after a flurry of spears, you know, Goldberg tries
for the Jackheimer, but Stroman reversus is he just lets
his body weight fall on Bill Goldberg, flattens him and
(45:59):
hits him with like four running power slams to win
his first ever Universal Championship over Bill Goldberg.
Speaker 2 (46:07):
Bronz Troman still wrestling.
Speaker 1 (46:11):
Bron Stroman is still wrestling. Yes, he was just so SmackDown.
They were going to have a number one contenders match
between him and I forgot Oh Jacob fat too, the
Samoan wherewell for the roal Oh, we have no idea
(46:31):
how there's not his cousin, but I'm sure Bronson Reid
is uh still men under Men and recovering from his
broken LB from that splash that he took at a
virus series from top of the cage.
Speaker 2 (46:47):
So is the story of us that for you.
Speaker 1 (46:50):
No, this is not a revisit, not a memorable moment, No,
unless you're like a fan of Brons Strowman and want
to see where he began and why he was gifted
this title. Now I'm going to give you a little
bit more information. But before COVID happened, this match was
initially supposed to be Bill Goldberg versus Roman Reigns. But
(47:12):
because of the COVID pandemic and Roman Reigns is so
trying to work through his leukemia and things like that,
he opted out and many wrestlers opted out from continuing
to work through the pandemic with this one. So that
I mean, this match could have gone different. And this
(47:34):
is one of the things where you have to always
look where the pivot the who's ready to step up?
And that's why you had to build these guys up,
because if it had been like Goldberg versus So and so,
you know, then you you want to be been excited.
But people had been excited about Brons Strowman, you know,
(47:56):
they had built them up of the monster among men,
and he gets his title shot, his time to run
with the football.
Speaker 2 (48:05):
So not a revisit for you, Not a revisit for me.
They put in the work, of course, but it was
not a memorable WrestleMania moment for me for thirty six.
Speaker 1 (48:15):
Right, And with that we finally get to your notes
of eight day Styles versus the Undertaker, the first cinematic
match in a WrestleMania event for nineteen minutes and I
(48:36):
don't have any seconds, so it's maybe finished nineteen minutes flat.
So this was a no rules, no d q's. It
was kind of like you also had to bury him
alive type of thing. Those were Those were the matches's
like be.
Speaker 2 (48:51):
Main event of WrestleMania thirty six.
Speaker 1 (48:55):
Sure, I mean it's Undertaker's last man, He's what do
you mean.
Speaker 2 (49:03):
That Undertaker's last match was not with look at that face?
Speaker 1 (49:10):
Go ahead and Undertaker's as match.
Speaker 2 (49:12):
I'm having a brain part. And his name right now?
He did the final match forres WrestleMania too, I mean
Night two.
Speaker 1 (49:24):
Oh that when he interfered into WrestleMania forty with the Rock.
Speaker 2 (49:30):
No, that's his name, he's it's the main event for
this WrestleMania thirty.
Speaker 1 (49:35):
Six, thirty six.
Speaker 2 (49:37):
This okay, he he's part of Knight two, part of
the main event.
Speaker 1 (49:44):
True MC entire verses.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
Hold that I'm looking it up.
Speaker 1 (49:52):
Okay, while you're looking at up, we'll go ahead and
get into the shots of the boneyard. So we had
this entrance from AJ Styles and and it's a hers
bringing in you know of freneral procession, and here comes
the casket and you think that it's gonna be the Undertaker,
but guess what it's not. It's AJ Styles coming in
(50:13):
and mocking the Undertaker. The Undertaker comes in on a
motorcycle because he's also doing a callback to his American
bad Ass gimmick that he had back in the mid
two thousands. So these guys, like we mentioned, this is
unlike any other match that we've had up to this date.
(50:37):
So from when we get here, they pretty much just
fought anywhere. AJ was cocky and disrespectful throughout the whole feud,
and it also continued into this match, bringing in the
Undertaker's wife, Michelle McCool into the foray of the show,
(51:00):
talking that he did but also taking and pokemon of
his age.
Speaker 2 (51:06):
Well, I like the height difference. So Undertaker six ten,
ag is five eleven. Undertaker is tall, but you can
see that he's having some issues walking. Yeah, yeah, that
was a little painful for me to see. And like
you said, we see that ag is mocking his legacy,
(51:26):
his wife, and he returns with the American badass persona
that some of you love, some of you hate. And
what I do like is that when I was watching
and reading about this, I saw that when people were
watching WrestleMania during COVID, it just brought them back to
a little bit of normalcy watching this match. So this
(51:50):
match was not in a ring. It was in this graveyard,
and I thought it was pretty cool for what it was.
Speaker 1 (52:01):
Yeah, I guess it lended more to you know how
when we do our movie reviews, or you know, when
people do movie reviews in general, they're always like, you know,
this is good as a movie, but it would be
better if it was like a TV series. So the
way I look at this match, it's like, normally, this
(52:24):
is the Undertaker's career here, and normally a regular match
will probably do. And this is probably how Vince was
thinking it.
Speaker 2 (52:31):
Oh, I was gonna say it wasn't his final match
with brock Luster.
Speaker 1 (52:38):
In a ring, Yeah, yeah, more than likely. Yeah, but
if you count the Saudi shows, then we have to
give the match that he has as the Brothers of
Destruction with his brother King versus Triple H NHBK as
his last official match in the ring, which is a
(52:58):
very terrible match. Do not go out and look for
that match if you're a fan of the Undertaker, KINGE
HBK or Triple, that.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
Probably would have been more appropriate to end his what
was it if they had had a good, uh, a
good actual outing, that would probably streak. So was the
Sorrey visit for you?
Speaker 1 (53:24):
It's it's tough, like it's not a match, So it's
hard for you to like to be like, yes, rewatch
this match, because like I was getting to, it's it's
this is one of the things where I think Vinceuelle
like there's no match that he could do with aj
styles that would be like some type of honor or
(53:48):
something like for the Undertaker to put him and say
like a thank you for him for all of these
years putting his streak on the line that once but
twice with brock Lesner and Roman reigns. So they're like,
why don't we just have you do a cinematic so
you can have moments like this where all of these
(54:10):
druids show up to help. Wait, but they all look
like the ghost Face Killer from screen, your favorite. Yeah,
so it had these things where it kind of made
Undertaker look like a badass. Then eventually aj Styles does
end up getting buried alive and loses to the Undertaker.
(54:33):
So it was good to see him have his last
ride in his last match quote unquote. So getting back
to the original point here, what I recommend this, No,
unless you're like a fan of the Undertaker and you
haven't watched his match and you want to watch it,
(54:56):
and if you're a completionist to see the undertaker is
last match. Other than that, I can really say that
it's not really worth rere watching as a WrestleMania event
type of thing.
Speaker 2 (55:08):
Okay, well that's a take from you as a season veteran.
Was it a was it worth a revisit for me?
You know, new wrestling fan coming in. At first, when
I watched US, I thought that I was like, is
this match a little boring? Is this match a little long?
But then I took a step back to take a
(55:30):
look at what it was, and like you said, it's
his final match, you know, kind of wrapping this up
for him, the Undertaker, and I would say one, yes, revisited.
This was during the pandemic COVID era times. It was
more of a cinematic performance than an actual wrestling match,
(55:55):
but it's part of WWE history. It was a little emotional,
a little creative, definitely unforgettable, which is what you want
in a WrestleMania You want those unforgettable moments, which is
why I say, revisit this match, and that's what they have.
Speaker 1 (56:14):
And with that, that ends Night one, Night one.
Speaker 2 (56:19):
We're on tonight too.
Speaker 1 (56:21):
We're here so far this long.
Speaker 2 (56:24):
We definitely appreciate you, thank you.
Speaker 1 (56:26):
Yeah, and we still have eight more matches to go.
Speaker 2 (56:29):
Don't don't I'm here already.
Speaker 1 (56:34):
Don't flip the channel, don't look for anything else. You're
going to get you this and if you guys, you
can get through that. If you guys are watching and
do not want us to break down two nights and
one not in one episode, please feel free to reach
out and let us know. So the next match we
have is the winner of the Royal Rumbo Charlotte Flair,
(57:00):
and normally we have like the winner of the Royal
Rumbo challenging for one of the main titles, like the
SmackDown title. Or the Raw title. But this year they
went a little bit off script and we had Charlotte
Flair challenging Ria Ripley for the NXT Women's Championship. And
(57:24):
this match goes for twenty minutes and thirty seconds. Yeah,
you're a fan of Charlotte.
Speaker 2 (57:33):
I am a big fan of Charlotte. Also, Rio Ripley
is still very surprised because I'm more familiar with who
she looks like now compared to them, So I had
to look her up and look up her older photos
of her original wrestling style. So I was very surprised.
So this match is twenty minutes thirty seconds. Like you said,
(57:55):
Ria Ripley five to seven and Charlotte five times, So
they're both about the same height.
Speaker 1 (58:03):
Give or take a few inches. Yes, that's correct.
Speaker 2 (58:09):
So Charlotte chose to challenge Ripley after winning the twenty
twenty Royal Rumble, right, yes, okay, So was she part
of NXT.
Speaker 1 (58:22):
Charlotte was part of NXT and her just like Becky
and Sasha Banks and Bailey and known as the Fource
Horse the Four Horse Women, who pretty much brought more
of a competitive more storytelling, more gimmicks, more push the
(58:44):
women's wrestling a little bit more forward, not only in NXT,
but once they all made their review into the big
brands like SmackDown and RAW.
Speaker 2 (58:51):
I am a big fan of both of these wrestlers,
more Charlotte. They're very strong wrestlers. I like their technical
skill both and both of them have big pops and
I guess they're like a big deal in twenty twenty
five if you're still watching WWE wrestling today. So they're
both pretty aggressive, they have good counters, and we get
(59:16):
a reptide by Flair, which is pretty impressive. Also, excuse me,
we have her lock Ria into a figure eate which
is pretty cool too. So we have a lot of
good spots, a lot of good moves during this match.
Would you recommend it? Though?
Speaker 1 (59:35):
Me? I felt like this is very hard hitting match
does pretty much work around the psychology of Charlotte working
on Rio Ripley's legs, so Ria can go ahead and
work on that underdog even though she's a champion and
she's the one that's defending her belts.
Speaker 2 (59:54):
Good ring psychology, there's good.
Speaker 1 (59:57):
Ring psychology that's being built here. Yes, good call good technology,
but so we have that there's some great storytelling going
around there. There's a lot of things that I liked here,
especially like when Real Ripley gets Charlotte put into this
elevated cloverleaf. That was a very good spot here. But
(01:00:19):
like you said, eventually this match ends with Charlotte winning
the NXT title for the second time in her career.
Speaker 2 (01:00:29):
The thought the win was appropriate.
Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
I thought the wind was not appropriate because this ends
up this also ends up happening. What This ends up
putting Real Ripley back down, just like it did with
Oscar when Oscar challenged here in WrestleMania thirty four. She
(01:00:52):
also came up with some great hype, just like Real
Ripley is. But her losing this match this you know
long man, which I felt was a little bit too long.
This match could have probably had like three or four
minutes taken out of it and still had that finale.
But this ends up sending her back her push because
(01:01:15):
you have Charlotte submitting Real Ripley, no cheining, no nothing
or anything like that. So it's a clean one for Charlotte.
So it makes Charlotte look strong, but it also makes
you Ripley look weak. Type of thing that so, as
far as me, would I recommend it? Uh, if you're
(01:01:38):
a newer fan and you're getting into wrestling and you
want to see Real Ripley's beginning and you don't want
to go through the whole xt thing that maybe take
a look bad. Or if you're a big Charlotte fan,
what is it worth a revisit for a fan like
me now? Because it just like reminds you of this
strong booking that Charlotte has and how even though she's
(01:01:58):
probably like the safe bat and where the money's at,
it has hindered the careers of many women along the way,
like Oscar and Real Ripley.
Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
Wow, it's a really good take on that that I
wasn't aware of, So that's that's very thank you for
sharing that was it worth theory? Bizit? For me someone
new to watching wrestling without that background information, I'd say
it was worth thery visit. It was one of the
best matches of Wrestlmingia thirty six Day two, Night two. Again,
(01:02:33):
both very strong wrestlers, so I'd say watch it.
Speaker 1 (01:02:37):
Yeah, And with that we go to the next match
on the card, Alistair Black versus Bobby Lashley. This is
for no titles. This is just a regular match seven
minutes and twenty Bobby Lanshley is accompanied by Lana, who
was the valet of Russev.
Speaker 2 (01:02:58):
So every time I think of Bobby Lashley, I always
think of eyelashes, just because of the last name. That's
where my brain goes.
Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
Yeah, so this match, like you mentioned, goes seven minutes
and twenty seconds. Do you have anything any thoughts about
whether you're a fan of Alistair Black Bobby Lashley.
Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
Okay, you know he is sixth three and Alistair is
six one, so high appropriate. Also Bobby Lashley, he's a
powerhouse and he also is a former ECW and Intercontinental champion.
Speaker 1 (01:03:37):
He's also a veteran. He's also of the Army, uh
in the Army of the Armed Forces, in particular.
Speaker 2 (01:03:44):
The Army, which is awesome. So Bobby Lashley is no slouch.
Also Alistair, he hails from Amsterdam, and yes he does,
so he's more of a striker. He's also one of
those martial arts comial arts commercial artists. And according to
(01:04:04):
some people, he might have a mysterious or about him,
which I also have a mysterious aura about me.
Speaker 1 (01:04:12):
That's true. We don't know where that aura came from.
It's very mysterious. What do you think? Do you like
this match? You do you would you recommend this match?
Do you have anything that sticks up for them?
Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
Like you said, there's no major build on this match, right,
This more this match is more about showcasing two pretty
dominant wrestlers dominant forces. And also, I think we were
dealing with the storyline had some tension with this marriage
to Wana.
Speaker 1 (01:04:45):
Yeah, as part of the storyline quote unquote marriage because
it's a cafe for those joining us. It's not a
real marriage, it's just a story line marriage because she
was in actuality still married to Miro who is Russev.
Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
So then we also have a mistyme spear by Alana
as well.
Speaker 1 (01:05:05):
Right, well, it's not a mistime spear, So let's get
into this. So Bobby Lanshley is pretty much dominating this match.
He's beating down Alistair Black. Alistair is still trying to
build through it and make a comeback. And then while
we're getting towards the end of the match, Lana, who
has not given any type of advice all up until
(01:05:25):
this point, jumps onto the apron and tells Bobby Lanshley
not to beat him. Like that, but to beat him
by giving him a spear.
Speaker 2 (01:05:34):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:05:35):
Bobby Lanshley sits back and waits for Alistair Black to
get up so he can spear him. And while Bobby
Lanshley is running to spare him, Alistair Black does his
little it's kind of like a spin, like a very
high spin kick, and he kicks Bobby Lanshley is called
black Mass. He lands Black Mass. It's a one two
(01:05:57):
three pin in the win for Alicet Black.
Speaker 2 (01:06:02):
So is this worthy visits to you? No?
Speaker 1 (01:06:06):
I would not say it's a revisit for anyone except
for anyone that wants to get familiar with Alistair Black.
Because Bobby Lashley is now an a W uh he
still has His name is Bobby Lashley. He's joined by
the gold Standard Shelton Benjamin and mont Tavius something Boorter.
(01:06:28):
What the b but his MVP. He's their valet, he's
their mouth he's their mouthpiece. He used the coach. But
they're there in a W. They have a match later
today and dynasty uh so attack match versus the Learned,
the Big Redwood and the Broughton Apple over there in
(01:06:50):
a W dynasty so that this match that's the only
way I recommended if you want to get some back
any type of background on Bobby lash if you're an
aw fan, or if you're returning back. Alistair Black is
rumored to be returning, so if you want to catch him,
because this is pretty much a push for him, he's
(01:07:14):
getting a clean win, or even though it's a distraction,
he's still getting a clean win over Bobby Lashley, who,
as Maria mentioned, has held many championships and has been
pushed prominently by events over the years.
Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
Twenty one.
Speaker 1 (01:07:27):
Yeah, so anything else, if you're not watching for any
any of those two things, then yeah, go ahead and
skip this match.
Speaker 2 (01:07:36):
Yeah, it'd say what's it worth the three? Is it?
Maybebe if you're a fan of Bobby Lashley for me,
and if you're a fan of a quick, decisive win,
then this match is for you. Otherwise they say skip it,
and with that we're going.
Speaker 1 (01:07:54):
Into match number three of Night two. One of your
fings otis.
Speaker 2 (01:07:59):
One of my I actually like both of these wrestlers
in different ways for their different characters, and I'm still
very upset with myself that I did not get to
meet Dolf Ziggler when we saw him at Russell Cohn
last year, last year in twenty twenty four.
Speaker 1 (01:08:19):
So this match has Otis, who was kind of the
storyline that we get. He has a puppy love. I
guess you could say for uh Sonya, Mandy Mandy Rose,
Mandy Rose, Yes, give it a couple of chances. But
Mandy Rose, who's pictured here with Dolf Ziggler, and it
(01:08:42):
all came, you know, one of these things where it
turns out Sonya Deville was the one who ended up
not wanting to have Mandy Rose be with Otis and
sending those text messages and things like that. Manny Rose
is upset, so she splits from her friend, but they
still got to have this match.
Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
So Otis much like the Elevator brand is Chonky, but
he is a fierce wrestler and I'm a big fan
of his wrestling. He's wrestling today.
Speaker 1 (01:09:10):
In wweis Caterpillar.
Speaker 2 (01:09:13):
Caterpillar. The man can move. It's a big man.
Speaker 1 (01:09:19):
So with this match.
Speaker 2 (01:09:21):
Wait, just he's five ten and he's a little over
three hundred and thirty pounds, you know from his wrestling
style is a little comedic. I'm a fan of that
kind of wrestler and he's also like one of those
bruiser kind of wrestlers as well, so lovable big man
(01:09:42):
you're also and then we have Dolve Ziggler who's also
pretty tall at six foot and he's about two hundred
and eighteen saw difference and weight, and he's pretty athletic.
Khaki heel tie so in this match, I am a
(01:10:02):
fan of a heel and he is a multi time
intercontinental champion. So I was looking forward to this.
Speaker 1 (01:10:10):
Match, And were you disappointed?
Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
I was not disappointed with this match. I would recommend
this match to you and it was a good addition,
a good addition to Night two of WrestleMania thirty six
for me.
Speaker 1 (01:10:25):
Okay, as for me, this match we headed a Dolfziggler
being the early aggressor, aggressor and dominating and taking it
to Otis. Otis is pretty much trying to rally, but
with the interference with Sonya Deville, it's kind of hard
for him to go ahead and catch a break. That
(01:10:46):
is until Mandy Rose comes out. She's had enough of
Dolf and Sonya Deville taking it advantage and also getting
the upper hand on Otis. She gets in the ring,
she kicks Daulph Zigler in the Family Jewels, DLP. Zigler
takes the caterpillar elbow from Otis, and Otis and Mandy
(01:11:12):
Rose live happily ever after for night two, as Otis
takes Mandy Rose into his arms and carries her away.
Speaker 2 (01:11:20):
Wow, what a story.
Speaker 1 (01:11:22):
Now, as from my recommendation, you heard Maria recommend it.
She recommends that he rewatch it. I recommend that if
you are a fan of the tele novelas, the soap operas,
the stories, this was probably the story to be invested in.
Speaker 2 (01:11:39):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:11:40):
So if you're a newer fan, if you're a fan
of Otis, if you miss Mandy Rose because she's no
longer wrestling and she no longer plans to wrestle, she
is making a killing, killing on OnlyFans. From what I hear,
this match was more about the angle itself. It wasn't
anything about the actual match that went in inside the ring.
(01:12:03):
It was all about the outside of the ring. And
if you're interested in things like that, please do yourself
a favor and we watch it. If not, we can
go ahead and skip onto the next match.
Speaker 2 (01:12:13):
I'm gonna say the story didn't do a lot for me,
but the wrestling was great, So that's why it was
very even said for me, Okay, they're a lot of
fun in the ring, and it's nice to have the
scary and the top and the crazy, but it's also
nice to have a little fun during wrestling. So this
is a good one.
Speaker 1 (01:12:32):
Yeah, it's one of the main reasons why I'm recommending it,
just because it's a good break, especially from this type
of WrestleMania where you don't have an audience just to
have I guess you could call this like a palate cleanser.
Speaker 2 (01:12:46):
Cleanser.
Speaker 1 (01:12:46):
So we've had an all this sterious stuff and here
you have like a little bit of a camp, a
little bit like soap op rish that little over loud,
something to make you forget about your worries for about
eight minutes.
Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
Yes, but if you like you're fears competitive wrestling, this
next match is a match for.
Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
You, the last man standy match between Edge, making his
return after nine years on the shelf. He returned at
the Royal Rumble of twenty twenty as a surprise entrant,
and he still had to wrestle because he chose to,
and we get this feud with him and Randy Orton
(01:13:27):
and This match goes for.
Speaker 2 (01:13:29):
Thirty six minutes and thirty five seconds, which I thought
was very very long. And I am I am a
fan of the Viper. Yeah, so I am a fan
of the legend Killer. I am a fan of Randy Orton.
If you are not familiar with any of those nicknames,
(01:13:51):
so was the Surrey visit for you? Because this was very,
very long.
Speaker 1 (01:13:57):
I'm gonna tell you.
Speaker 2 (01:13:58):
They're bout the same height, by the way.
Speaker 1 (01:14:00):
Are they?
Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:14:00):
Okay, well, this match, let me see what I have here.
This match had great storytelling as far as a revenge
tale type of thing. There was some great emotional acting
from Edge, especially at the end where he has to
pretty much win this on top of a trailer. Because
(01:14:22):
this match went everywhere, and this is the end. I'm
sorry about the previous film but previous picture, but this
is after Edge hits Randy Orton with the concerto on
top of trailer. But this match starts off Randy Orton
attacks Edge. He's dressed in all black as camera guy.
(01:14:44):
Edge is waiting for Randy Orton to come down because
of his music playing. Randy doesn't show up. Randy takes
the camera off his shoulder, jumps in the ring and
r KOs Edge to start this match. So right away
we got Randy Norton doing what he does best, being
a scumbag and being the guy, being the aggressor, being
(01:15:08):
the apex predator. And now it doesn't stop there. They
take it to the gym they wanted, they wanted to
get some reps in, and it is bench ghost everywhere.
There's just one spot that I couldn't find a picture of,
but they're like in a meeting room and h Randy
(01:15:29):
Orton's laying on top of a meeting table. The table
and for some reason there's like the smash aluminum fence
built onto the ceiling. And what does Edge do. He
starts climbing. They start climbing. He starts climbing that cage
(01:15:49):
and he manages to drop a little bit of an
elbow on him. I thought that was a very good
creative way of getting that movement. But this is just
way too long. You may be too long, thirty six minutes.
It feels like it it drags, and it's mainly because
(01:16:12):
I feel like if this had an audience, maybe it
would have been okay to to have this match be
thirty six minutes. But without having an audience, without having
a crowd, and you're just out they're performing. I think
if you would cut like maybe ten twelve minutes, that
probably have gone a little bit better. I agree, wou
probably be one of these matches that into it like.
Speaker 2 (01:16:35):
They gave us everything, so we had waits, Like you said,
a weight room, we saw the photo trucks, ladders, conference rooms,
you know, like we saw them wrestling over a period
of thirty six minutes. They could have cut this match
in half. It started to make it a little painful
to watch. And then the finale it was kind of lackluster.
(01:16:58):
It was not that exciting like that that's the win. Yeah,
it was like what so this is just a revisit.
Speaker 1 (01:17:05):
For you and it is not a revisit for me.
Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
For the one spot.
Speaker 1 (01:17:08):
The only way that I will recommend that you revisit
this match is if you watch the match that they
have at Backlash. They have another match to settle the
score and that one. Yeah, this year, this in the
timeline of twenty twenty where we're currently reviewing this match
(01:17:29):
Backlash twenty twenty. Rewatch that one. That one. There's also
kind of a fillmeding cinematics, but that one's shorter, and
I feel that's a better payoff.
Speaker 2 (01:17:38):
Okay, so that this is not a revisit for us,
I would say, and I would recommend that you watch
two spots. Maybe the scene where they're in the weight
room and Randy tells the rat to count.
Speaker 1 (01:17:53):
Oh yeah, that's fun, which is fun.
Speaker 2 (01:17:56):
He's like, do you know what counts? Start counting or what?
Speaker 1 (01:17:58):
Yeah, Randy, it's Edge with I think with a weight
quote unquote, and Edge is laying there on the floor
and the ress just looking at him, and he's Randy's like, hey,
you got to count, man, don't you know how to count?
Start counting him? Because is the last man standing, the
last man the man has to answer the before the
count attest.
Speaker 2 (01:18:19):
And then the other spot was when they were in
the conference room. You have that gate up on top.
Edge goes flying from the gate, hits Randy and that's
a lot of fun. So you know, if you're patient,
watch it, but otherwise skip it.
Speaker 1 (01:18:37):
And with that that takes us to the fifth match.
We're almost done, guys. The fifth match of nine two
is a tag team which has Angel Garza and Austin Theory.
Speaker 2 (01:18:50):
Also the Street Profits.
Speaker 1 (01:18:52):
Yeah, but these guys were in a traditional tag team.
So this is one of the things where the original
te acting partner of Angel Guards of Austin Theory was
not available, so they had it thrown Angel Guarza, who
was accompanied by Zelina Vega versus the Street Profits and
who wanted crown? Yeah, hey, crown was gorgeous and who
(01:19:15):
wanted to smoke? But these guys and this match goes
for six minutes and twenty seconds. Yeah, So you were
a fan of the Street Profits, yes.
Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
Right off the batches, definitely a revisit for me. It
was a lot of fun. The Street Profits were pretty cool.
Of course, they had matching ring gear. And then also
we get to see Bianca as well. So this match
was good storytelling. It was a lot of fun and
good wrestling. I'd say watch.
Speaker 1 (01:19:43):
It all right. And as for me, she says, this
was a very fast pick, fast paced match. It felt
like it was more of a showcase of the Street
Profits than it was anything that we got from Umbert. So,
I mean Angel Garza and Austin Theory.
Speaker 2 (01:20:03):
And like you said, Andrad was injured, so that's why
Theory supped in last minute for this match.
Speaker 1 (01:20:08):
Yes, That's what it was. Thank you, You're welcome. It
was the original supposed to be the tag team of
Angel Guard Angel Guardza and Androtte, but Austin Theory was
subbed in here because of the injury to Androtten and so.
Like I mentioned, this seemed like it was more of
a showcase because of the mismatched tag team of Guarza
(01:20:31):
and Theory. It seems like it was just like Fences,
like just go out there and show them what you got,
boys and the street profits did not disappoint and they
were awesome.
Speaker 2 (01:20:41):
They had a lot of fun line, they had a.
Speaker 1 (01:20:43):
Very they had a lot of high spots, and it
was just too fast, too much to capture. Also felt
like he I can see why Angels still working up
to this day. He's there, but I'm not sure exactly
what they need. He stuck in this gimmick with his
cousin Umberto Garza. They go by the name Los Garzas,
(01:21:05):
who are built together with Santo's Escobar and they're known
as the Godo del Fantasma Legacy of the Ghost or
the Phantasm. With this uh this match, Like Maria mentions,
I think the highlight was after Theory and Garza louse.
(01:21:26):
They have a postmatch little scrum. They start attacking the
Street Profits because they're sore losers, and then eventually Zelina
Vega starts joining in on the beat down, and that's
when Bianca bell comes out to state her WRESTLEMANI debut,
like Maria says, but also coming to save her man
(01:21:47):
her I believe they were married at the time by
this time, Mantes Ford and yeah. But other than that,
this match I feel is not really something that we
should actually rewatch it all shame so just because name,
you know, unless you just want to see like the
(01:22:08):
Street Profits and like a glorified squash match and see
Bianca Bella Air on a wrestling page. I felt like
this probably would have been better if this was in person,
because you would probably get the crop popping more. But
other than that, it just seems like a very forgettable moment.
Speaker 2 (01:22:22):
I'd say watch it. It was not forgettable for me.
I am unforgetting it. I remembering it right now. Revisit
this match. Like I said, this marks the start of
Bianca Belair's main roster dominance. This is her debut for WrestleMania.
(01:22:43):
We see her wrestling in twenty twenty five. She has
been killing it. Street profits are awesome. Revisit this match.
Speaker 1 (01:22:51):
All right, and with that that takes us to match
number six. We're almost there, guys. What Match number six
of nine two of WrestleMania we had the SmackDown Women's
Championship being contested in a five women Showdown fatal five
way elimination between I do look great by the way, Semina, Naomi,
(01:23:17):
Lacey Evans, Sasha Banks and Bailey. Only two of these
women are still on this roster.
Speaker 2 (01:23:24):
Yes, who is it?
Speaker 1 (01:23:25):
Naomi and Bailey? And this match went for nineteen minutes
and twenty seconds.
Speaker 2 (01:23:32):
Maria Women's Championship fatal?
Speaker 1 (01:23:35):
Yes? What do you have any thoughts? Who are you
rooting for? I know you're a fan of Naomi.
Speaker 2 (01:23:40):
I am always a fan of Naomi, and I am
a fan of Bailey. I'm also a fan of Sasha,
but I mean, I really I'm also a fan of
Lacy Evans.
Speaker 1 (01:23:51):
Are you a fan of Lacy Sma?
Speaker 2 (01:23:54):
I just I haven't been exposed to you as much
I suppose, but this match had really good attention. I
enjoyed the wrestling and we see do you think Sasha
saved Bailey?
Speaker 1 (01:24:09):
Yeah, she saved Bailey you mentioned to me, and we'll
get a little bit more will come up with that
conversation that you brought up here. But this match was
pretty much built to push more of the storyline of
Sasha and Bailey. I think the question you asked was
(01:24:30):
why why didn't Lacey Evans win or why wasn't Sasha
upset that she pushed strip of Lacey Evans to take
that woman's right? Uh, And it's pretty much that's the storyline.
They're driving the wedge. They're driving the wedge between the
two friends because there's no money and I hate, you know,
(01:24:52):
I hate to sound cruel, but no one was out
there banging for Lacey Evans and a Sas Bailey match.
You know, there's a reason why Lacey Evans is not
out there wrestling still, and she's also one of those
people out and only fans. But we got this match
(01:25:13):
going for nineteen minutes, and it pretty much they had
solid storytelling, especially like mentioned the Bailey and Banks thing.
This made to Mina look strong and I know we
have Tamina here, but this made me ask where was
Naya Jacks? But she not with the company I had.
I tried to find it, but I couldn't find anything
because normally Nya would be part as far as like
(01:25:36):
being the big strong woman inside of the ring. We
have this woman of color making themselves a little packed
here to go against Bailey. Yeah, that's what I take
us between Lacey and I think. Yeah, and then eventually
it all falls apart and they all do a pylon
elimination on to Mina because she's the big, the big
(01:26:01):
brute force in this match. After this, yeah, Sasha Banks
gets Naomi into the bank statement and Naomi gets eliminated.
We get for a long thing, and we had the
miscommunication that don't have it here but in the pictures,
but we have Sasha is getting into it with Bailey
(01:26:26):
after Bailey doesn't stop Lacey Evans from clotheslining her when
she could have. They're doing a little miscommunication back and forth,
and eventually Bailey pushes Lacey off of her. Lacey turns
around and gives the woman's right which is a right
hand strike, so Sasha Banks she grows up Sasha for
(01:26:48):
a pin, and you still have Bailey by the ropes,
not reaching to break the count. But eventually everything's cool.
When Bailey looks like she is going to lose, Shasha
comes back, gives a backstab or to Lacey Evans for
one two three pen in the one for Bailey. So
you would recommend this matter.
Speaker 2 (01:27:09):
I would recommend it again. All strong wrestlers. I really
enjoyed the wrestling. I think their gear was awesome. Love
Sasha's boots. Storyline has multiple airs and multiple we have
all these strong women wrestlers, good action, good wrestling.
Speaker 1 (01:27:28):
Grave visit as for me, as for your fans, that, yeah,
this would probably be worth watching here if you're committed
to starting somewhere. You want to know why Bailey's a
big deal. These are one of the key feuds that
Bailey had to become where she is now in the
(01:27:49):
women's landscape. She's kind of like the measuring stick in
my opinion, when a woman's coming in, whether it's from
n XT or from another thing, I feel like she
pretty much has to face Bailey in order to be
gage as work to place her and things like that.
But this is a very good few. You know. We
(01:28:09):
always say that friends always bring out the best of people,
and Bailey and Sasha always find ways to make magic happen,
especially and then there's few so this feud eventually ends
up having a blow up and or believe it's at Summerslime.
So let's uh, we're still continue on the twenty twenty timeline.
(01:28:29):
I believe that is a very good match to watch there.
Speaker 2 (01:28:32):
So that that takes us to.
Speaker 1 (01:28:35):
The fire Fly Funhouse match between John Cena and the
Fiend bray Wyatt thirteen minutes.
Speaker 2 (01:28:46):
So, first off, you know rest in peace bray Wyatt's
but we see seeing a return. He's seeking redemption and
he wants revenge for his thlows. Well Bryant wants revenge. Yeah,
he wants revenge for his loss to see at WrestleMania thirty.
(01:29:08):
So we have Scena reliving some failed gimmicks that he had. Uh,
they're in a psychological dreamscape. We have nw oh Sina
puppet Vince says that's some good ship. Can remember that
puppet puppet Vince. Also we see Fiend Pensina who vanishes.
(01:29:31):
So there's a few different things going on here. I
did not care for I did not care for this match,
even though it was written by Sina himself. What did
you think about it?
Speaker 1 (01:29:44):
Well, if you are one of these fans who are
out there who say that Sena doesn't know how to wrestle. Well,
guess what, here's a match where he doesn't do any
wrestling at all. It's a fifteen sixty minute match.
Speaker 2 (01:30:02):
She said, you're in.
Speaker 1 (01:30:06):
This man fourteen minute match. She does no wrestling at all.
If you're a fan of that, definitely rewatch it. As
far as like creating this as a match, it's very
difficult to serve one of these like cinematic matches that
we have, and it's more of an artist take, like
(01:30:26):
your interpretation type of thing. Like if this would probably
been seen those last match, maybe I'd recommend it for
you to watch, mainly because it takes you like this
is your life type.
Speaker 2 (01:30:40):
Of uh, horrifying.
Speaker 1 (01:30:43):
Way through John Cena's I'm not making fun of I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:30:46):
Just saying this match is like making fun of you.
Speaker 1 (01:30:49):
No, you feel like this might wrong. Okay, So let's
start off here. So the Johnsena walks through the fire
life on house door, which takes you and it reveals
to you your darkest secrets. And the first thing that
John Cena goes is to back I believe it's two
(01:31:09):
thousand and one, where Kurt Angle is out there throwing
a promo where he makes the challenge, and this is
when John Cena comes out with those little bitty orange
blue tights known as the Prototype to answer that call.
We get this random Saturday Night main event throwback while
I'm assuming that bray White is doing his best Halt
(01:31:31):
Coal Gain impersonation and I couldn't tell who John Cena
was supposed to be in this one, but he's just
lifting weights non stop for some reason. So we had
that one. We also had this one where Johnsena comes
out to be the doctor of thom Dynamics, so we
(01:31:57):
see that two. But like you mentioned, this is pretty
much bray Whyittt trying to get his revenge because of
this wrestleming ya thirty moment. I don't remember if I
don't know if you'll remember, but remember how we always
had this When we review this match, I had talked
to you about the psychology of this match and how
it was a great match. Johnson has always been built
(01:32:17):
as a space that he always does the right thing.
In this particular match, he didn't. Bray Wyatt pushed his
buttons to the limit where he actually hit him with
the chair and bray Wyittt brings it out to him
at this point where it's like, this is your chance
to fix your mistake, this is your chance to do
what's right. And Johnsena still goes out there and does
(01:32:41):
the same choice that he did six years ago and
swings at bray White to hit him with the chair.
So eventually the fiend comes out attack Sena, puts Sena
in that Mandela claw like you mentioned, he gets a
pin in the win and this all feels like it
(01:33:03):
will Johnsena's body disappears, and it feels like it was
a very terrible nightmare. And cut to Titus, who says,
I have no idea what I just watched. I saun
And if you're one of those fans that feel the
same way, I understand.
Speaker 2 (01:33:25):
Uh that's what you might say after you watch this.
Speaker 1 (01:33:29):
Yeah, so what I recommend anyone watch this if you're
a newer fan and if you become introduced to John
Cena and you want to see John Cena's career, this
probably like a great explanation, like kind of like a
great bookend, do you see, like like mentioned, this is
(01:33:50):
like this is your life version of Johnsena's career, and
this truncated or not truncated truncated version of John Cena's
career and this match or cinematic match as a long
term fan, would I recommend anyone rewatches. No, not at all.
And from that we move on to the last match.
Speaker 2 (01:34:12):
I didn't say what I were Oh, okay, go ahead,
I would not revisit it. Don't revisit it. It was
a nightmare also a little scary, all.
Speaker 1 (01:34:24):
Right, that's it, okay. And with that match, Oh, I.
Speaker 2 (01:34:30):
Was gonna say, my bookend for John Cena will be
since he's turned heel this year in twenty twenty five,
and he's on his goodbye tour, his final match, so
I want to see how this wraps up with his
heel turned this year.
Speaker 1 (01:34:45):
Oh, I thought you had a suggestion for what his
final match should be.
Speaker 2 (01:34:48):
No, that's it. That's just my booke und for his
career that we've watched so far.
Speaker 1 (01:34:51):
So to have a this is your life, John Cena.
Speaker 2 (01:34:54):
No, I just want to see what where this year
takes him.
Speaker 1 (01:34:57):
So okay, that's it, all right, And with this we
get to the last match of our two night WrestleMania
Drew McIntyre versus Drew versus Drew McIntyre for the w
(01:35:18):
W Heavyweight Championship for Monday Night. Wrong, this is the
main event. This match goes for four minutes and thirty five.
Speaker 2 (01:35:28):
Seconds, the shortest match in WrestleMania history.
Speaker 1 (01:35:31):
If we are not counting the match at WrestleMania nine
where Brett Hart loses to Yokozuna and who's there to
pick up the pieces but hul Cogan? How is the
duration that I'm just saying, if we don't count that
as a match, that's the only other shorty match that
I can remember, which, if you guys are interested, we
(01:35:52):
see that the ww is coming out with a documentary
of this terrible pay per view of Wrestlemingia nine. We
have Wrestlmingia nine, So if you are interested, we will
go ahead and we watch that and compare our notes
and see why something went wrong and why we probably
rated it that way without knowing any of the background
or history.
Speaker 2 (01:36:11):
I like, that's like spy vers spy comparison. Yeah, so
with that, you all remember those comments from.
Speaker 1 (01:36:17):
Man the black spy and the white Spy.
Speaker 2 (01:36:20):
Well we'll do the comparison.
Speaker 1 (01:36:22):
So Brocklesner, Drew McIntyre, who are you digging Drew.
Speaker 2 (01:36:29):
I guess for those very short match, what a bummer
way to end the WrestleMania thirty six, Night two. If
you enjoyed the short the shortest match ever in a
WrestleMania to date, Okay, comment below.
Speaker 1 (01:36:48):
So they get to stare down here, and I did
not know. It never occurred to me that Drew McIntyre
was actually taller than brock Lesner here. So it's one
of those rare rarities where if it's not the Undertaker,
someone else's taller than brock Lessener. So this all had,
(01:37:13):
you know, the makings of We're gonna have Drew brock
Lessener go over, as we got the start of him
starting his Germans German souplex for a but as soon
as that starts to get going, Drew McIntyre hits brock
Lessner with a Claymore and the stakes are back even again,
(01:37:39):
and Brock starts beeding up again, and Drew McIntyre starts
dominating him more and a bunch of claymore excuse me,
a bunch of German suplexes, and where he actually hits
three in a row and three consecutive at fives, Brock
goals for the pen you probably think it's over too
if you're watching this for the first time. But Drew
(01:38:00):
McIntyre kicks out first that one, and then brock Lester
goes for another pin and then two, and he kicks
out again. Lesner can't believe it, you know. Eventually, when
Lesner gets up and Drew McIntyre gets up, he Drew
mccutarre hits him with one clay More. Drew McIntyres on
(01:38:22):
a row, he hits up with another clay More, and
then he hits him with this final clay More and
gets the one two three pin in the win to
be the new WWE Heavyweight Champion. Maria, Yes, would you
recommend anyone come back and rewatch this match?
Speaker 2 (01:38:41):
I mean, if you're interested in seeing Drew McIntyre in
a wrestle media, sure, if you're a fan of Brock Lesner,
which you.
Speaker 1 (01:38:47):
Were right I was. But then eventually I got tired
of him because you.
Speaker 2 (01:38:52):
Got tired of the German two plexus five, because that's
all I see when I see him wrestling.
Speaker 1 (01:38:58):
Yes, it started to be like over towards the end
of his runs.
Speaker 2 (01:39:02):
It's like when you're playing Mortal Kombat and you only
know a few moves. He's sick of those one or
two moves and piss your other person that's playing you.
You know, That's that's what I say when he wrestles.
So it's not that exciting for me. I wouldn't say
pass it. It's not like we're three visit and it's
kind of a bummer to wrap up a WrestleMania two
(01:39:22):
night events.
Speaker 1 (01:39:23):
But that's just me ask for me, Would I recommend
anyone go back and rewatch this match? For newer fans, uh,
it's a five minute match if you really want to.
If you're a fan of Drew mcgatyre and you want
to see his his win, and if you're a fan
of Drew Barrymore, you can catch your clips on YouTube somewhere.
(01:39:47):
But if you want to see Drew mccatire getting his
first Evyweight Championship win, it probably would have been more
meaningful if he had the audience, especially as they're showing
you the bill to this match. They showed, you know,
after he won the World Rumbo before COVID lockdowns go down,
the crowd was white hot for him and they were
(01:40:09):
really rallying behind him, And this feels like it would
have been more meaningful, especially to Drew with the crowd.
So as far as rewatching this because it's it's a
good match and things like that, it's not. But if
you want to enjoy that moment with Drew, if you're
a fan of Drew, then I would say we watch
(01:40:30):
it for that because it's it's a very meaningful payoff,
and the announcers do a good job of selling that
Drew mccatire deserves this win and that he earns this win,
and that he's not the guy I hear you.
Speaker 2 (01:40:43):
That makes sense. So overall, was this wrestlemedia thirty six
or three of us.
Speaker 1 (01:40:50):
The name certain matches? What did we say it's a disappointment? No,
because I could think of other WrestleManias that would be
considered disappointment, even though we go through each match and
make a recommendations. I believe maybe Wrestlemingia nine would be
one day we were very disappointed in. Wrestlemingia eleven probably
(01:41:13):
be another one that we're probably disappointed in.
Speaker 2 (01:41:16):
We have a few gems here, so we have ko
versus Rollins, which is pretty cool. That triple threat ladder match.
Speaker 1 (01:41:23):
For the SmackDown tact team titles.
Speaker 2 (01:41:25):
Some forgettable items like that Goldberg versus Stroman, Corbran versus
Eliahs Like, no thanks to those. So what's our final verdict?
Speaker 1 (01:41:37):
I think my final verdict is for Night one, watch
the Triple Threat Ladder match or the SmackDown Tank team titles,
watch Ko versus uh Seth Rollins. And for Night two
you can go ahead, and I believe watch the Tag Team,
(01:42:03):
not the Tag Team. The first match Real Ripley versus
Charlotte Flair. Even though it runs a little bit long,
I still think it's worth re visiting just so you
can see what I was talking about about. Sometimes you
losing to Charlotte Flair after you've had a good run
in NXT can't put you down right. And I don't
(01:42:24):
believe I have any other matches.
Speaker 2 (01:42:26):
Well, I'm just like very historical WrestleMania thirty six, That
Boneyard matches, a match that people are still talking about today.
That fireflyfe On House match. I guess because it's unique,
it's different, Kale versus Rollins, that ladder match. We talked
about the ladies matches, which I'm a fan of. But
(01:42:47):
the question is you, the audience, what do you think
was WrestleMania thirty six as an underrated classic? Does it
in the no fans era Hall of Shame? Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:43:04):
And also the Fatal five Way was the other match
I would recommend for night too, so I got two
matches in each night. But yeah, drop your comments below.
What do you guys think if you watch this COVID
pandemic wrestlming event? Do you agree with my recommendations? Do
you agree with Maria's recommendations? Why or why not? Go
(01:43:25):
ahead and drop a command below and we'll see where
we go from there as far as continuing the discussion.
Speaker 2 (01:43:31):

the media. We're back. We'll be back in a few
weeks with Wrestlmingia thirty seven.
Speaker 1 (01:43:40):
We're hoping to get that out at the end of
the month and April twenty seventh around the same time.
So if there's nothing else to take care of.
Speaker 2 (01:43:51):
Until next time, keep revisiting the media.
